I am answering this very late because my brain has decided to go on vacation. sorry 😔

🍅 How easily is your OC embarassed? What subjects make them flush and why? What event has made your OC the most embarassed they’ve ever been?

he used to be embarrassed more easily. ortega and themmy were both very good at it. he would get flushed and flustered due to ortega's flirting and then themmy's teasing about said flirting. lot harder to pull off now (but if anyone could it's ortega). the most embarrassed he's probably ever been would be when he found that magazine after being recaptured by the farm. it really setting in that he'd been there mooning over ortega, in love with him, and then he just moved on like it was nothing. left him to rot. He won't let his feelings get the better of him like that anymore and vows to always have the upper hand.

🍊 Does your OC have any triggers? Why do these things trigger them? What are they like when triggered and how do they calm down after?

Romi is pretty touch adverse, so someone suddenly touching or grabbing her is a big big trigger for her. when danny picks her up to ask her to help him train she actually panics so hard she faints. medical stuff, surgery, cutting into skin are also major triggers. any sort of situation where she is restrained and powerless. these can all be traced back to her experiences at the farm. she has two methods of working through it. the first one is to get somewhere safe, to lock herself away, get some sweets and try and let it pass. the other is a bit more violent. to put on her armor. to go find someone to fight. to prove she isn't powerless anymore. to move all that frantic energy through her body. to have the tangible proof of an enemies blood on her knuckles, the certainty that she wont let them touch her again.

🏀 Does your OC have any skills that people wouldn’t expect them to have? Do they have a hobby or pass time that others would consider strange or weird? How did they learn this particular skill or pick up this hobby?

Aiden is musical! He can play the platius verions of the guitar (don't know if it would actually be different but yeah) He didn't do it as often as he'd like, there were so many other duties which took precedence but it was a nice form of stress relief. He hasn't played since his exile.

Cyn can sew. it started as a necessity. a need to hem and tailor her clothing to accommodate her petite frame. but it became something she enjoyed a lot. the ability to customize her wardrobe gave her a lot more freedom given the constraints of the tattoos. she had a denim jacket that she'd sewn a lot of patches on and even a little bit of embroidery (it's just a coincidence that heart on her wrist is the same shade of blue as ortega's suit). preheartbreak she was messing around with a lot of different patterns and colors but the stuff she wears now is a lot more subdued. no more floral dresses.

vesper is a bit of a card shark. had a lot to do with cheating and using their telepathy which is why ortega was the only one who could beat them consistently.

Curtis has a good singing voice, and maybe in another life would have had a lot of fun as a band front man.

Romi used to sometimes help tia elena bake, and that is a hobby she would greatly enjoy if she felt confident enough to try it on her own. it feels too connected to that past version of herself now, like it would make her too soft and vulnerable. her main hobbies now are going over security at her base and apartment, gathering intel and checking for any rumors that the farm has found her.

James would enjoy scultping/ceramics if he let himself try it. but it feels stupid to even try and indulge that. instead his main hobby is staring at his stolen artwork and drinking. back in the sidestep days he used to do a lot more people watching, would visit the local musems and galleries as often as he could.

#p5 #persona 5 #shuake #akeshu #p5r #persona 5 royal #goro akechi #akechi goro #ren amamiya #akira kurusu #joker #joker persona 5 #soda art #the artbook gave me brainrot and the strength to make a COMIC. extreme rarity for me #akechi in 3rd sem having a wish to play chess with joker in a world where theyre both happy and are able to lead normal lives is just...aug #but the fact of the matter is that he can't have that without sacrificing his free will and everything he stands for #so in this scenario i thought he could ask for a small microcosm of that wish #at least he gets another game with joker - even if he wants to play many more he'll settle for just one #they still can't play together without the baggage and without akechi feeling that he's burdening ren #but at least it's something. at least akechi gets to spend a little more time with him #and akechi makes a concerted effort to push ren away in the 3rd sem to avoid attachment #so this would be a “selfish”/vulnerable request on his part since it's something he wants but is sentimental #and will only make it harder for ren to lose him in the end #ANYWAY !!! they make me crazy <3

The sad thing is that I would have made Muse animatics on them if I didn't have that much work. I swear some of their song fit so well (especially Undisclosed Desires and Newborn, for those who know), I'm probably gonna have to something about it eventually.

I have to notice the domesticity they're soaked in once they move in together, it's just so easy to picture...

It's official. I have finished The Sunshine Court. I have so many things to say and yet have no idea what to possibly say. It was perfect. It was absolutely perfect and heartbreaking and gut wrenching and an insane emotional roller coaster and everything i could possibly have asked for from Nora. Like she really truly delivered and i'm so fucking INSANELY grateful she has shared this story with us after all these years. We do not deserve her.

I'm avoiding writing and you probably are too, so let's at least think about our characters while we do it.

You know the drill- send me a number (ONE number, you can come back for more) and I'll answer for an OC of your choice (if you know their name) or my choice (if you don't know their name). Feel free to name some of your OCs in the tags of your reblog, if you want to be asked about them.

How did you choose their name?

Were they created for the story, or was the story created for them?

Do they have a love interest, and was that their choice or yours?

Do they have a best friend? If so, how did they meet? If not, have they ever/why never?

What catalyzed their introduction to the plot?

Currently Reading: a lot of fanfiction lately. A lot of work related studies, particularly a lot about mindfulness training and intrinsic motivation. Last non Star Wars and non work related thing was The Bastard of Istanbul by Elif Shafan. Anything she writes is good, check her out.

Current Obsession: Star Wars obviously, but also planning a trip, motorcycles, tattoos, trying the new fancy summer cocktails that are trending round here, enjoying the warm weather and photography, which I'm just starting to learn about

uhhhhhhhhh realistic? i now it's definitely not flowery and it's not idealistic (hopefully). it just is what it is, it tells the stories i want to tell in a way that gets the point across pretty easily. i don't put a lot of effort into describing things because it's now what i like to read, i put more effort into the narrative

at the moment it's non-existent... but usually, yeah, i'm a little bit fussy. definitely gotten fussier as i've gotten older and i now prioritise OC fics over reader insert (which has become easier to do), and the players i like over those i don't like or don't know. if writers i like write things i wouldn't seek out, i am not opposed to reading them!

okay you asked for ramblings so here we go!

💥 Are there any emotions your OC doesn’t know how to deal with, doesn’t understand or hates having to feel? Any reason behind this?

A lot of what curtis does is trying to cover up his own feelings of loneliness and isolation. He struggles a lot with feeling like he's fake, just this pieced together approximation of a person, that he doesn't matter that nothing he does matter, so he puts on this suit of arrogance this attitude of being the most important person in the room, smarter, more in the know than everyone else. better. to try and ignore the parts of himself which know he isn't which know he is nothing more than a somewhat tool, only useful in someone elses hands.

💧 What is something from your OC’s past they’re the most ashamed of and why? What is something they’re really proud of? And lastly what is something in their past that could make them shake with dread?

He feels a lot of shame about how he followed ortega around like a little lost duckling, wanting his approval so bad, looking up to him. He is incredible proud of what he has been able to achieve so far in his villain career, ever victory every fight won. Theres a lot of horrible things in his past but the thing that would shake him most would probably be the catastrofiend. there were a lot of close fights and dangerous situations during the sidestep days but he never felt as much out fo his depth as he did fighting the fiend.

🥊 Does your OC prefer to take the lead or follow orders? With everyone or just with certain people? Is there a reason for this?

👹 How does you OC act around different people and how does their personality change to match the environment they’re in? How do they act with: friends, family, strangers, children or their lover(s)?

He did a lot more shapeshifting back in the sidestep days. now he has a lot more consistent presentation, bombastic, arrogant, important, still with the humor and the teasing but there's an edge of cruelty to it that there didn't use to be. Danny is starting to get a little softer version of that. don't get me wrong curtis is still an ass, but now danny is his, someone he wants to protect and pull deeper into the fold, so there's less cruelty or I should say its more focused. trying to undermine his belief in the rangers, in the system, to corrupt.

still even with the attempts to corrupt, curtis does show more vulnerability with danny. with everyone else he acts like he has no fears, nothing can touch him, that he has everything under control, but danny can see under that mask just a little bit (which ultimatley should help serve curtis' plot to turn him).

for the other questions I'll answer for all the steps 😉

🍏 When your OC says “I had a bad day” what does that tend to mean? Is it really as bad as they’re saying or are they being a bit dramatic?

with all the steps in general a bad day probably means bad memories, shields may not be as strong as necessary more things leaking through, possible migraine growing, memories not leaving them alone. lack of sleep and nightmares waiting in the shadows. they have a lot of reason for bad days and while they may use it as an excuse, just call things a bad day rather than go into detail, they are rarely just being dramatic.

🐍 Is your OC a good liar? How easy is it for them to tell lies? What is the biggest lie they’ve ever told and did they ever get found out? On the other hand, what is the biggest lie someone has told your OC and did they believe them?

oh goodness this is a whole pack of liars. the biggest lies obviously being that they are human and also not the villian.

Cyn has the most discomfort with lying. she is very aware of it and feels that is wrong but she also knows she has to do it. even back in the sidestep days she couldn’t imagine any sort of world where julia would accept her as a regene. she lies mostly by omission, just not answering questions, walking away. letting people come to their own conclusions.

vesper also is suprisingly uncomfortable with lying but for a different reason. they only have to lie because they are maintaining these relationships which they know are a trap are things to be avoided, the fact that they are even bothering to lie tells them they care about what others think and that is a dangerous place to be in. right now one of their bigger lies is that they are no longer a telepath. not sure how long they can get away with that one.

romi lies mostly because she has to. is failry good at it. it’s all a defensive strategy. sometimes she can even convince people that she is actually fine (the clothes and the makeup go a long way for doing that tbh)

curtis lies as easily as he breaths. at this point theres a little bit of just enjoying it, seeing what he can get people to believe, how he can manipulate and obscure the truth. he is looking forward to the day when he doesn’t have to hide being the villian anymore. that’s a long way off though

james lies to get what he wants. sometimes he will feel a little twinge of conscious but ultimatley he has accepted that this is who he is, who he has to be if he is going to get any of the things he wants. I mean in an ideal world he wouldn’t have to do this, but that’s not where he lives and he isn’t going to waste time being concerned with the ethics of what he is doing.

as far as the biggest lie they’ve been told I don’t even know where to begin. fhr is full of liars and we haven’t even begun to reach the truth of things.

⭐ Does your OC like to sleep alone or do they enjoy sharing their bed? Have they been to any sleepovers? Have they ever been camping? What did they think of the experiences if so?

none of the steps have much experience with sharing a bed

cyn did once with julia back in the sidestep days and it was pretty upsetting for her. the fact that she wanted it, so badly, but knew it was something she couldn’t have (I have a fic about it here). she avoided sleepovers unless necessary because of work, though I do have an au with a friends step where they would have lived together so kinda sleepover situations there. I do also have a fic I’ve been working on forever about a camping trip to joshua tree, it’s a good memory for her.

vesper surprisingly would sometimes sleep over at themmy’s and even ricardo’s. usually when they were inbetween places or after a night of drinking. more nights at themmy’s than rics though. in the disaster throuple au, finch and vesper end up sharing a bed when the nightmares are super bad. it becomes a huge source of comfort and they both try to ignore it pretend it isn’t a thing once the night is over but it’s pretty foundational to their relationship

curtis spent more than one night passed out on ortega’s couch. would hate camping.

james and romi both avoid sleepovers. spending the night with danny is like a huge deal for romi, she never imagined she would be able to do that with anyone. feeling safe enough to fall asleep to let herself be that vulnerable around someone.

oof do they ever have triggers. all the steps have a hard time with heights, that’s always a trigger, restraints as well, so someone grabbing their wrists would affect all of them.

cyn goes into flight mode, needs to get away to run to hide, cigarettes help her calm down a lot and generally just finding a place away from people where she doesn’t have to worry about psychic bleed through. she has some additional triggers about physical touch, when it’s not expected, bare skin is a huge one, no one has ever really touched her bare skin with kindness, so it happening just sends her right to a lot of traumatic memories.

vesper will lash out. hit punch kick, also psychic force just pushing everyone away, can clear a room so quick. even if they don’t get physical she will be verbally lash out. insult try and push everything out and away from her. clear a space.

curtis would try to hide that he is triggered, and try to find a way to punish the person who triggered him. maybe go into their mind and bring up their own bad memories, make them hurt like they hurt him, make them associate that action with pain so it will never happen around him again.

james goes into fight mode, throw a punch get the guard up, physical activities can help him move through the aftermath of the trigger, also spending time in front of his stolen art or having a drink are go tos

romi has some pretty heavy touch aversion. she reacts super strongly to being touched when she wasn’t expecting it. when she is triggered in the moment she can have a tendency to freeze. to not want to move and cause herself further pain. it’s only in armor that she really fights back, when she has the assurance, the safety that her suit provides.

Cyn and Romi are probably the most easily embarrassed.

Vesper feels it but their reaction is always to go on the attack, admitting to being embarrassed/flustered would be too vulnerable for them.

James is probably the one who gets embarrassed the least.

Curtis used to get embarrassed but not so much anymore It would have to be his own blunder if anything to get him to feel embarrassed, something that shows he isn’t as hot shit as he likes to think he is.

obviously ortega has been and always will be the biggest source of embarrassment for every step. They just are gifted that way.
