Alan Rickman, David Thewlis, Gary Oldman and all those are iconic in their roles in Harry Potter, but I’ll always be a bit sad about that casting, because having that ‘Marauders era’ cast be age appropriate would’ve just been so much better for the story.
Sirius wasn’t this old man who spent 12 years in Azkaban, no he got locked up at 21. He spent almost third of his life in a cell. He wasn’t this wise father figure to Harry, he was a reckless thirty-something who never really got the chance to mature past 21.
Remus was an exhausted, bone deep tired man carrying both physical and mental scars from the suffering he went through. Because he’s a werewolf, because of the war, because he lost all of his friends. And he’s only 33 when first introduced.
And Snape. Snape wasn’t an old bitter man who just hated everyone and enjoyed being antagonistic. He was 31 in Harry’s first year. He began to work for Voldemort as a teen, and as a double agent at 20. He’s a thirty-something bitter man, who never got to really live or make real connections. From Harry’s perspective he’s scary and intimidating, but really he’s just kinda…sad and pathetic. And then especially that scene where Snape is begging Dumbledore to help save Lily, and promising anything in return. (Because apparently Dumbledore needs something in return…for saving people.) He’s twenty. Barely out of his teens. Rickman was good in that scene, but having someone who actually looks twenty, would better show how scared, young, guilty and just desperate he was. That might not put Dumbledore in such a good light, though.
And then, the characters I think would’ve been the most important to cast age appropriately. And most people probably already agree and know who I’m talking about. James and Lily. They were 21 when they died. When Harry sees them in the mirror of Erised, they’re 10 years older than him. That’s the age difference Ron has with Bill. In that scene I might understand somewhat them being in their thirties, because that’s what Harry wants. He wants his life with his parents, he wants to have been raised by them. Though, I don’t know if the mirror could know what they might’ve looked like in their thirties, since they didn’t live that long. But then, in the cemetery when Voldemort’s wand spits the last spells cast, we see Lily and James as they were. 21. They’re telling their son to hold on just a moment longer. And they are 7 years older than him. In Deathly Hallows, Harry sees Voldemort kill them. They’re not this happy couple who’s got to love each other for a long time, only to have that happiness torn from them, no they started at Hogwarts ten years ago. They’re 21, and they’ve barely tasted that happiness. At the end of the book Harry talks to his parents. They comfort him and promise to stay with him, as he goes to die. Harry’s seventeen. James and Lily are four years older than him.
It wouldn’t have felt as nice. Harry being comforted by someone who looks almost his age. But it wasn’t nice. It was pretty tragic. Casting people who look 21, would’ve really made it land on the audience. It was a tragedy. They were barely adults.

No for me it's the fact that Dark Sides are so fucking drawn to Logan in various ways.
Obviously, Logan and Virgil have many moments together: fleeting little glances, communicating through silent expressions, constant jokes, and nicknames, and picking up on each other's cues, talking about interests and comforting each other and uplifting each other and - Well, you get it. Logan and Virgil have just so much chemistry whether interpreted as romantic or platonic, they just get one another so well as similar sides of the brain.
And then Janus and Remus came into the picture and for a moment I wondered how they'd fit in. Obviously pitched to be the antagonists, ones that had their eyes on Virgil who he was trying to part ways with and keep with the other light sides. But Logan had already known them well enough to distinguish them under guises, he picked up cues and little ticks and tricks just as he would Virgil. He speaks to them as people - albeit somewhat annoying people at times as seen by him bickering with Remus - but overall he speaks to them so much more plainly than the others, more candor.
And now in the Christmas episode he invites them to presumably their very first Christmas with the other sides and interestingly enough, he is hosting it. Which makes sooo much sense for a few reasons. 1. He tolerates them the most, of course he would be the most unflappable when it comes to handling the chaos that would be everyone in one space. Christmas is notoriously chaotic, and he handled it with percusion as always. But 2. Logan knows what it's like to be excluded and left out. The moment in which Remus looked at Logan with that particular look - you know the one, the one he gave Logan so long ago before Logan had a quick little snap. He knows Logan, as does Janus, and Logan knows them. As Logan knows Virgil.
He's the neutral zone, the safe space, the arbiter. He tends to them in such a specific and kind way despite the hissing and biting and false faces. In a place where there's only a few of you and who treat you with scorn, would you not feel at least somewhat drawn to someone who sees all your insecurities, all your flaws, everything people tell you is wrong about you; yet tells you you are worth something to him. Even if he doesn't say it, it is through action. And wouldn't you also hate seeing the way he notices those traits in himself and expects people to not treat him kindly in turn.

Best Harry Potter Hubby
I am curious as to who people think the best husband is. Please try to be as objective as possible. It doesn't matter if the man is a villain or antagonist. It's not even about the ship. Like you can prefer Hinny over Romione but think Ron makes a better husband than Harry for eg.
It's a bit hard for some of these guys since their marriage may not have a lot of screentime or no screentime at all. Use how they acted as boyfriends as a rough estimate??
Propaganda from moi:
I personally think Vernon is the best husband in HP. The dude is an abusive jerk to Harry but the man is always ready to throw hands to protect his family. Plus, the dude treats Petunia like a queen and respects and loves her. I just think the Dursleys have the best marriage on paper. Unlike other HP couples, I can't find any fault with Vernon as a husband.

I rewatched Dealing with Intrusive Thoughts today, while keeping in mind one of my favorite moments from Working Through Intrusive Thoughts
Tumblr media
I really, really think that Remus is working very closely with Janus to bring to light several issues Thomas is actively ignoring and to intentionally bring forward the Orange Side.
Thomas wants to learn about himself and grow as person? Well, he can't do that without knowing all parts of himself. Which brings me to
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This interaction. Yes, I did cut out a small bit from the middle with Remus using Dahmer as an example, the main point of this is Remus’s body language and reaction. Particularly his reaction to Logan's "It didn't do him any good."
Remus was using a gruesome example, but really this moment is where we see him revealing his intentions of trying to help Thomas while maintaining his role as Forbidden Creativity. He's not trying to get Thomas to actually think about or consider murder. He's trying to draw attention to the fact that his approach of using repression isn't going to work and it isn't going to help.
Remus is trying to get Thomas to acknowledge the things that are going on that he's ignoring within the confines of his role.
We've seen the Sides grow into pretty 3 dimensional characters, but they are still not individuals. So Remus and Logan and everyone else are bound by their roles that Thomas has given them.
Logan is approaching this conversation as a debate, trying to be the one to fix things for Thomas, arguably still trying to chase the opportunity to help Thomas all on his own and prove his value as a Side to Thomas that he lost in season one, meanwhile Remus is agreeing with him on this scene. Because as far as Remus is concerned, they have the same goal. Get Thomas to stop using repression as a coping mechanism.
From the very get go Remus is trying to help Thomas and Logan is treating him like the antagonistic. Which is understandable. But I really think this moment is what lays the foundation for Working Through Intrusive Thoughts.

just watched this show and idk i think of you remus the whole time? if you ever have the time please an au where remus is boxer and is protecting teddy or harry please please plwase siri could be his trainer’s friend or maybe oppositions friend eeeeeek sorry if this annoys you
Annoy me? I am a loser, a nobody, and nothing without people like you. I have no idea what this show is but that man’s fine as fuck.
I like this a lot. James could be his trainer because he’s the most athletic out of them all in my head, and Remus came to him when he was younger with a terribly managed temper problem so James took him under his wing and introduced the former scrawny beat up little boy to the ring where he learnt to hone all those emotions and aggression. Maybe James is the only person who knows about his lycanthropy and helps him manage it by catering a training/fight schedule to fit around the cycle.
I’ve said before I could see an AU where Remus is a boxer where he tries to schedule his fights in the days leading up to the full moon because of the extra strength, but eventually runs into some sort (?) of trouble because of this. I love the idea of Sirius being James’ best friend who comes to watch Remus train and goes to all his matches. Remus has a burning crush on him but despite the confidence he displays in the ring, buckles when faced with the sharp jab to the throat he feels when Sirius smirks at him. A complete cloth. Physically powerful, but emotionally crippled with zero experience around actual flirting, or people who look like Sirius. Who are as book smart as Sirius. Who are as seemingly calm, sharp witted, and flirtatious as Sirius. It knocks him for six every time and blushes too hard when the proximity is too close, and is completely naive to the way Sirius looks at him.
It could be a little more exciting and angsty if Sirius was on an opposition’s side somehow. I don’t see Sirius as a boxer, but a mild antagonist turned friend, turned something else could be good to play around with.

Hi I'm so freaking obsessed with your twitter.
Also what's your favorite Romione moment in the books and why?
ohohoho thank you, friend, i’m quite proud of some of the stuff i’ve posted on there B)
and as for my favourite romione moment in the books, when i read the question i first blanked out for a couple minutes, thinking of a bunch of smaller, sillier scenes. but then i remembered that i do have a favourite and it’s from chapter 11 of DH, when remus visited the trio at grimmauld place and filled them in on he goings on of the war -including the implementation of the muggle-born registry. ron’s response upon hearing this (after his immediate outrage) was
Tumblr media
and it’s not just the hand holding and the “‘you won’t have a choice’ said Ron fiercely” that played out so vividly in my head like this:
Tumblr media
but this scene demonstrates so perfectly the political weight of this pairing (muggleborn/blood traitor) which i think is the immovable narrative foundation of romione. all of their silly moments and idiosyncrasies aside, there is genuine narrative purpose behind this love. ron has always had an astute understanding of the blood supremacist politics of the wizarding world (need i remind that he was ready to curse shitco at the ripe age of 12 for calling hermione the in-universe slur) and just how wrong it is. ron is a pure-blood wizard and by design has so much privilege in this society bc of it, but by virtue of having parents like arthur and molly, he’s grown up knowing the importance of fighting against blood supremacist ideology. always.
so, after hearing about the completely horrifying muggleborn registry ("People won't let this happen," said Ron. "It is happening, Ron," said Lupin.), he immediately turns to his muggleborn best friend and love of his life and says “i’m making you a family member, i’m going to use the protection my family-name has and use it to protect you from the awful injustice of our situation, no you won’t have a choice but to let me help you”
i remember having such a… visceral reaction while reading this scene like holy shit .. these kids, THESE KIDS!!!!! this is the bone-marrow-deep love that makes me feel insane. this dynamic of the blood traitor/muggleborn always there, from CoS all the way to the epilogue. We get to see that romione is the story’s pure blood/muggleborn that finally made it (rip jily and tedromeda :(). we see it in hermione keeping her muggle last name after they get married (oh my god these two actually got married) and we also see it in the hyphenated Granger-Weasley (granger being first!) in their kids’ last names (oh my gof these two had TWO kids). they are a true symbol of change and progress in their world.
also this is one of those moments where i’m so glad that our only window to romiones relationship development is through harry’s narration because it so brilliantly shows the readers this blossoming love story instead of just telling us about it because harry obviously doesn’t have access to the inner thoughts of his two best friends, he can only witness them fall deeper in love. showing the audience acts of love is always more powerful and my god is this an act of showing your love to your beloved.
(and not to go on an unrelated tangent, but this is exactly why i could never ship my girl hermione w any DE or DE-adjacent character. no fucking way. not when the concept of a muggle-born registry exists in this universe, not when the antagonists in this story wish to eradicate people like her from their society. idk about the rest of y’all but im going to keep taking the narrative seriously bc the worldbuilding obviously has real world ties/implications and i like engaging with the canon. tangently to the tangent, i saw someone (a ron basher) on twitter say that ron, OUR RON FROM THE ABOVE EXCERPT, was “one bad day away from becoming a death eater” ohhhh ohhh i ought to beat you with sticks bc HUH? this is the same kid who said he would’ve boarded the train back to kings cross if he got sorted to slytherin, the house notorious for birthing DEs, at the tender age of 11)
anyways, all this to say is that romione is incredibly, realistically, materially romantic and i love them and i love their love <3

It actually makes perfect sense for anties to be stans of regulus black and jegulus as a ship. Their dream of having no control over the fascism they spew, and then being absolved by the love of James Potter, who is carried through the narrative as a main antagonist of the fascist overlord, who they (or regulus, who they want to project on to) don't actually disagree with, is a pretty appealing narrative. They get to cringe about two assholes being hugely important for the fight against fascism. Meanwhile their perfect blank slate to project on to, gets to have 0 accountability to his own world view (which, according to them is Sirius' fault, bc sirius gate kept critical thought from him), or his desire for love (something James Potter will force on him, selfishly, with no account for how either regulus or Sirius feels about it)
They make Sirius the worst person to ever exist, by going to school a year earlier than regulus, by being the whipping boy of their parents, by having a friend who loved him so much he took him in when the antagonism of his entire family became too much, by doing an illegal and life altering transformation to help a disenfranchised friend, by working directly against their parents ideology. But they have to make James, Peter and Remus silent martyrs for only insulting Sirius at every single turn, while not throwing him out of the group (though their insults show they really truly want to), and they have James showing his first Ever self interest by going after a regulus (who never really shows him any attention, other than accepting James' heavy infatuation) while finally stopping to... Idk catering to a Sirius who, even in their fantasies has to fight for any kind of attention, even more so if he wants it to be at least somewhat positive
Yea no sorry I can't string that together more cohesively. I also have read some nice jegulus stories; this is more a rumination about a certain stance I observe in Canon/fanon.

Okay, so- I have this Sander Sides AU that I've had for a long while now. And I think it would be neat to share it with you. I might also make several posts about it. So let me introduce you to:
Tumblr media
Sanders Switched is an AU in which the sides' "roles" are switched around. To elaborate, their function (Logan as logic, Patton as morality, ect.) remains the same. Thomas' perception of them is what changes. So where Logan is the voice of reason in canon, another side would take his place. Here's all the sides in Sanders Switched:
Janus: Janus takes the role of Patton as the kind authority figure. He's seen as Thomas' self-preservation and always puts his safety and well-being above all else. He's a sort of motherly figure to the other sides, constantly caring about their well-being and acting as if he's older than them. He's much sweeter than OG Janus, but he still has a sassy side, and lives for gossip.
Remus: Remus takes Roman's role as Thomas' source of inspiration. He is seen as Thomas' comedic side and encourages Thomas to have as much fun as possible. Rather than being a Duke, he presents as a jester. He has issues with his impulsivity, and his jokes tend to be morbid and often mean, but he's overall harmless and much more tame than OG Remus.
The Orange Side: Obviously, I can't say exactly what the Orange Side will be, since we haven't been introduced to him yet. But based off what we do know, I place him in Logan's role as the voice of reason. Assuming he represents wrath of some sort--which is impossible not to believe at this point--he would probably be seen as Thomas' motivation, pushing him to get his work done.
Roman: Most people would probably switch Roman and Remus and make Remus, "good creativity," and Roman, "bad creativity." BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? I'M COMPLICATED AND UNIQUE. So Roman takes the place of Virgil as the original, "antagonist." He is seen as Thomas' pride that pushes delusions that keep Thomas from growing as a person. He arrogant and rude, and claims he is a King rather than a Prince. Because of this, none of the sides really like him at all, with the exception of Janus. But near the end of season one, we discover that Roman only really wanted Thomas to achieve his dreams, and that most of his cockiness hid his secret insecurities. And after Thomas and the other sides realize how important he is, Roman is officially accepted as part of the group.
Patton: Patton takes the role of Janus as the antagonist to all of Thomas' beliefs and the possible leader of the dark sides. He is seen as Thomas' overbearing moral code that constantly tries push harsh rules rooted in Catholic Christianity onto Thomas and the other sides. He is extremely passive aggressive and overly judgmental towards the sides he deems, "wrong." Almost everything he says is a critisism of something Thomas or the other sides do. Despite being so harsh however, he loves puns and making jokes just as much the OG Patton, and loves to torture Logan with his puns.
Logan: Logan takes Remus' place as the bad influence Thomas tries to ignore. He is seen as Thomas' inner critique who judges Thomas for everything he does. He insists that Thomas' lifestyle is, "childish," and that he should abandon it for a, "mature," way of living so that he can live, "a normal, healthy life." He is extremely judgmental and criticizes all the sides for the smallest of details, making everyone hate him, even Janus. Despite this, he generally harmless, and he can easily be ignored.
Virgil: Virgil takes the Orange Side's place as the mysterious secret side that the fandom makes a million theories about. I can't fully explain who he would be, since, again, we haven't been introduced to the Orange Side yet. But for now, he still represents Thomas' anxiety. And when he reveals himself, he will call Thomas and all the sides out on their BS.
That's all for now. It isn't fully developed, and things will surely change when the Orange Side finally does reveal himself. But there's still a lot of things I would like to share. So please let me know if you want know more!

Let’s talk Black Brothers angst and the best friend’s brother trope, especially surrounding a Jegulus relationship. As the oldest sibling by two years, I would have been horrified if my best friend dated my little brother in high school or college.
Not because my brother was a bad person, or because my friends were. It simply felt like an invasion of my personal space. Your friends are often an escape from family, especially if you have a toxic parent, or parents. I can completely understand Sirius seeing Jegulus as a betrayal of trust by James and/or an invasion of his personal space by Regulus.
Some of that emotional response may come from fear of losing one or the other if the relationship failed, distrust of his brother if he’s still under their parents’ influence, or from physical disgust at the thought of the relationship itself. Either way, Sirius has a plethora of reasons to object to it outside of being selfish and wanting one, or both, all to himself. However, even if he is being selfish, so what? No character is without flaws and if Sirius’s flaw in a fic is that he’s selfish with his friends, let him.
Some fans act like Sirius Black isn’t an impulsive, dramatic bitch in the HP universe. This man tried to kill an enemy using his werewolf best friend as a weapon, stalked his own godson in a menacing dog form multiple times in and out of the wizarding world, immediately went on a revenge spree when James and Lily were killed, and laughed hysterically when he was arrested afterwards. The man who broke into both Hogwarts and a dorm full of sleeping children to try to murder a rat with a KNIFE, used the knife on the portrait when she wouldn’t let him in, kidnapped Ron to get to his pet, ran into dangerous situations without a second thought, gave a full on villain’s rant then taunted Remus and Snape in the shrieking shack, and loudly argued with anyone who disagreed with him…all while WANDLESS.
That man isn’t one to sit back and see what happens, or go along with it if he disagrees. Sirius Black will make it his life’s mission to annoy the piss out of James AND Regulus while seeing the entire thing as an attack on him personally. No Voldemort or Death Eater bs necessary.
If you would rather write a fic that shows Sirius being sweet and accepting of Jegulus, please do! I love reading fluffy versions of them getting along. Just keep in mind that when some of us write him as an impulsive, dramatic bitch, we are using his canon characterisation. Also, the sibling dynamic between the brothers will range greatly based on the back story the author gives them and how they are influenced by their own experience as a sibling (or not).
Personally, I’ve explored their relationship from three angles in my fics. Antagonistic, supportive, and reluctantly ambivalent. All three were a fascinating dive into sibling relationships. I encourage you to explore their dynamics, don’t box yourself into one head-canon! You don’t have to agree with him to understand or relate to Sirius’s perspective, even if he’s over the top.
As a bonus if you read all that: my brother actually ended up marrying one of my friends and they are very happy together. It was super weird for while, but having one of my friends as a sister-in-law is honestly awesome. I cheered them on when it was clear they were good for each other.

2023 Writing Wrap Up
Thanks to @citrusses for the tag, it's always fun to reflect on what I've done! Tagging @all-or-nothing-baby, @makeitp1nk, @phdmama and @apricitydays-lazynights
I actually wrote about half of these stories this year, but this is what I posted this year. I spent a good month digging out and wrapping up some WIPs that had been hanging around. They're at the bottom, since most of them are not HP related.
If you are a Drarry fan and want my best of the year, let me suggest my kinktober oviposition offering:
A Charitable Endeavour (Harry Potter|Drarry)(E) (2,322 words)
If you like rarepairs, I would suggest these two, after paying close attention to tags:
Never Too Much (Harry Potter|Harry/Remus)(E) (3,432 words)
A Gift of Forbidden Fruit (Harry Potter|Hermione/Bill,Hermione/Ron)(E) (6,805 words)
For all 29 stories I posted to ao3 this year, keep going!
Beginning of 2023:
For Everything, a Season (Harry Potter|Drarry) (1,342 words)
A Christmas fic for the Drarry Microfic exchange of 2022 which, just like the one for 2023, started out being something very different, and ended up this - a short snippet of an older, married Drarry, reflecting and enjoying their life.
The Old is New Again (Harry Potter|Drarry) (1,471 words)
I wanted to do my own take on trans!Draco, and this became Calla, and honestly? I love her.
Kinktober was so much fun. I really wanted to challenge myself with these, and I continue to be challenged with more of these stories that'll go out in 2024. It's been so much fun, especially writing kinks I don't share, since I have to really dig into characters and why the kinks appeal to them.
dare to dream it, dare to be it (Harry Potter|Harry/Sirius/Remus) (1,886 words)
I loved writing this boot worship kink story, I loved finding the ways that it's important to both Harry and Sirius, and exploring Harry's hopes and insecurities when it came to Remus.
Never Too Much (Harry Potter|Harry/Remus) (3,432 words)
This watersports story is so wholesome, honestly. It's E rated, but it's an established relationship, and it's very much about trust and vulnerability, and I love that aspect of exploring kinks like this, that can involve judgement.
Unlocked (Harry Potter|Drarry; Harry/Sirius) (1,205 words)
This collar kink story was one of the most fun ideas I had. I wasn't able to flesh it out as much as I wanted to, but I'm definitely hoping to revisit this magical collar idea in the future. There's so much potential!
A Charitable Endeavour (Harry Potter|Drarry) (2,322 words)
Ovipostion! And one of the few Drarry fics I wrote for Kinktober. I actually really love these versions of Draco and Harry - Draco, an insatiable Veela, Harry, who is happy to attempt to satiate... and Luna, who needs some help with some dragon eggs. I actually have a few more fics planned in this verse, but we'll see if I get to them. So much filth to write, so little time.
A Gift of Forbidden Fruit (Harry Potter|Hermione/Bill,Hermione/Ron) (6,805 words)
The one I knew wouldn't hit, but I had to write it anyhow. It has infidelity, it has body worship, it has imperfect people trying to do their best for the people they love. It burrowed into my head and wouldn't let go, and I'm proud to have written it.
I started posting microfics to ao3 this year, including some older ones that I'd only posted on tumblr.
Your Spark to My Tinder (Harry Potter|Drarry) (717 words)
This was actually a ficlet I wrote on tumblr for @phdmama, and later posted to ao3. Short and sweet antagonistic Drarry.
The Nature of Kindness (Harry Potter|Drarry) (50 words)
A painful look at how Draco sees himself.
Where the Sea Takes Us (Harry Potter|Drarry) (651 words)
A fun merman!Draco fic.
Magnolia (Harry Potter|Drarry) (127 words)
A Hanahaki ficlet with an ambiguous ending.
A Lesson in Snogging (Harry Potter|Drarry) (129 words)
Smokin' but T rated Drarry.
Keep on Driving (Harry Potter|Drarry) (150 words)
Draco is newly divorced, Harry offers to give him a ride. Possibilities.
Might Seduce Your Dad Type (Harry Potter|Drarry/Sirius) (250 words)
This is 3 microfics, and I'm actually incredibly proud of it. It starts out Drarry, then ends up with them and Sirius. And it's a pretty solid little story in 250 words.
And the Christmas wrap up for the year!
This Time Next Year (Harry Potter|Drarry) (3,574 words)
An incomplete Christmas fic I'd meant to finish before Christmas but got behind on posting. Spoiler alert, it's actually a prequel to last year's microfic exchange, the first fic in this list.
The Heart of Our Home (Harry Potter|Drarry) (2,592 words)
This year's Drarry microfic exchange fic! Cottagecore with a scant spoonful of angst, and a sprinkle of sentient house fun.
Another challenge, which I set for myself, was to post stories that had sat around in my WIPs for a long time. I generally needed to add something, but in most cases I found that, even if I'd meant it to be a lot more, they stood alone as they were, or with some brief connections between scenes. I learned a lot from this effort.
Another Beginning (Teen Wolf (TV)|Deaton/Sheriff Stilinski) (3,168 words)
This was such a healing story for me to write and to put into the world. These two characters don't really get a lot of attention, especially in a romantic way, but I think they both have a really intense loyalty to the pack that makes them uniquely suited to one another, and I was really glad to be able to get this out so other people could enjoy it.
Our Relentless Dreaming (Dragaera - Steven Brust|Vlad/Morrolan) (4,431 words)
I'd had this one partially finished for quite a while, and I'd planned to tailor it for Yuletide and gift it. That...didn't work out very well, since I ended up being on the Yuletide naughty list, but I was still able to tweak it and gift it, and enjoy having it out there and off my WIPs list. It got a hearteningly beautiful reception, and I appreciated that so much.
Picked Clean (Harry Potter|Draco & Harry) (989 words)
I never entirely knew where I wanted this to go, but I wanted it to be a darker look at Draco, especially, after the war. I wanted to take both Harry and Draco in a new direction, to understand them in a different way, and I really enjoyed exploring this take.
The Taste of You Lingers on my Tongue (Hannibal (TV)|Will/Hannibal) (627 words)
A dark but poignant first kiss vignette.
I Know the Pieces Fit (Teen Wolf (TV)|Sterek) (2,700 words)
I held onto this so long. There was one little section that I couldn't get to 'feel' right, but seeing as how this is one of the most popular things I posted this year...I think it's safe to say, it was the right time to release this post-series fic to the world.
Say Anything (Supernatural (TV 2005|Wincest)) (100 words)
A drabble featuring Jess.
Stalemate (Teen Wolf (TV)|pre-Sterek) (395 words)
I started a S1 rewatch, and started doing episode tags and inserts. This was the first one, from ep 1, where Stiles comes across Derek in the grocery store.
Skewed Normal (Teen Wolf (TV)|pre-Sterek) (378 words)
This was from the rewatch, S2, a little snippet exploring Derek's view of the world, and him protecting Stiles.
I Want to Give You the World, I Want to Give You Yourself (Supernatural (TV 2005)|Jody/Donna) (776 words)
I love Jody and Donna, and I loved exploring their relationship, how Jody would navigate it and what she would get out of it.
Between a Wolf and a Full Moon (Teen Wolf (TV)|Sterek) (2,832 words)
Xenophilic E rated fic with a lot of heart. I am a big fan of writing unhinged but wholesome fic.
Dating (Supernatural (TV 2005)|Destiel) (100 words)
A drabble where Sam accuses Dean of dating Cas.
In Grief, We're the Same (Teen Wolf (TV)|Dargent) (2,057 words)
This sat in my drafts because of a transition issue...I added a sentence and let 'er rip, and I like it a lot. It's a story of grief, of similarities, of people coming together in hard times, in hard ways, in the ways that work. It's about the slow process of working through guilt and grief, and how it's just a little easier with someone who understands.
Show Me What You Got (Supernatural (TV 2005)|Wincest) (871 words)
Some short Wincest filth that I wrapped up a year later with one final scene.

Hey there :D
I heard ya wanted asks about your personal headcanons for the Sides? I'm curious about your thoughts on Remus & Roman, and just them being brothers. You always have the coolest takes and fanarts with them!
So, yus: ✨the twins✨
And also Virgil's and Remus' relationship with each other if ya want :3
Anyway, have fun :D
Hello my favourite breakfast food mutual! /j
I have so much to say about the twins and their relationship to each other.
To start with, I want to clarify that the two of them very clearly have a lot of issues to work out, and although I love them being brotherly, I do think a lot of their fighting might be a little... more genuine than that. They are very much pitted against each other both by their natures and by the other sides, and Remus is intentionally antagonistic to Roman a lot. It's not healthy, but they are brothers nonetheless, and like most sibling relationships they have a lot of complexities to them and their feelings on each other.
Now getting into headcanon territory!
I don't really ascribe to the common fanon of a big "splitting" event that resulted in the two of them. I also don't think there was a King as fun as that headcanon is. I think the original creativity was something more childlike, like a puppet/muppet looking fella or a stereotypical cartoon character trope - maybe something disney based. When Logan talks about them splitting like an ovum, he seems to be talking about a much slower, gradual process as Thomas had those catholic ideals of thought crimes and repentence forced into him. Religious thought like that is integrated into a child's mind in a much slower fashion than that of which would cause a sudden and massive separation.
I like to think that Remus came about the way mold or a nest parasite does. Slowly growing off of and out of the original creativity until he was his own being entirely. Strong enough to pull off of the 'host' and grow on his own. I like comparing him to a cuckoo bird baby. He didn't understand why he's so much hungrier, so much bigger, than his sibling. He didn't understand why he was so out of place and different from his foster siblings in the nest. He didn't understand why he had done something very bad, but he knew that he had. He is so hungry. So much bigger than the rest. He is so much - too much. He has done something very bad. He doesn't know what he's done. He's done something... horrible. He is something horrible.
Remus and Roman have been compared to each other and placed above or below the other their entire time of existing. That creates really difficult feelings about your sibling when you're raised like that. Remus having to always be seen as 'worse' created self esteem issues that manifest as him purposefully making himself as unlikeable as possible. He absolutely can't handle positive attention or praise, and tends to see it as not genuine or that the person is fooling themselves when he does receive it. Roman, heralded as the 'good creativity' and always put on a pedestal, is the opposite. He cannot handle negativity towards his creations or himself, and being the Ego doesn't help with that. Roman is very easily hurt by criticism because he used to always be praised for anything he made, when Thomas was a child.
Remus and Roman get in a LOT of physical fights, being imaginary has its perks such as "I can decapitate my annoying brother and he will be fine and still yelling at me." It helps them blow off some of the animosity between them, and usually they patch each other up after which also helps with that. I think they drum up entire battle scenarios in The Mindpalace with dragons and manticores and all sorts of beasts to tear each other apart, only to laugh and put each other back together.
I think that sometimes, even though most of their relationship is fighting and bickering, they really are the only one that can comfort each other. They understand each other's painful emotions and self esteem issues so well that the other sides couldn't get anywhere close to the ability they have to make each other feel better. They're brothers, no matter how much they dislike that fact, and they know each other inside and out.
This is very long so I will talk about Remus & Virgil at a later date! You can see a tiny bit of my thoughts in this post though.
