Most Beloved AEW Wrestler Tournament Round 2 Statistics Dump

Followers: 168

Total Votes: 13,148 + 11,439 = 24,587 (Considering round 2 only lasted half the time as round 1, nearly matching the vote count is impressive)

Times I accidentally included a wrestler twice without noticing: 1 (fuck you Matt Sydal for being so generic and sorry to the 74 people who have voted for him at some point, he's now my personification of every failure I've ever had)

Beloved By Gender

So before starting, we had a ratio of 23.9% women, 0.7% nonbinary and 75.4% men

After round 1, that shifted to 24.8% women, 1.5% nonbinary and 73.7% men

After round 2, the numbers have shifted even more in favor of not-men

Which means women and nonbinary wrestlers are kicking the men's asses in terms of overall belovedness

Voting Trends

We're still on an upwards trend for votes, still featuring the epic highs and crushing lows of popularity days, but had the first day to break 2000 votes!

The Great Ties

In round 1, as we all know, Darby and Jack tied exactly at 85 votes apiece. It was decided they would both move on to round 2 in order to duke it out once more. Then they both lost. Darby lost to The Butcher by 20 votes and Jack lost to Trish Adora by 35 votes. This marks the end of both of their journeys with Darby getting a total of 193 votes and Jack finishing one slot above him at 216 total votes.

No one brought it up, but there was a tie in round 2 as well. Both Kota Ibushi and Mr. Brodie Lee earned a total of 79 votes. Working from the great tradition of precedent, they'll both be moving on to round 3.

And the near-tie that broke everyone's heart, Anthony Bowens VS Hangman Adam Page. The closest contest thus far that was separated by a single vote in Bowens' favor. Our cowboy will ride into the sunset and Anthony will live to scissor another day

CHAPTER ONE. WHEELS AREN’T EVEN TOUCHING THE GROUND. Fem! Reader. (She/Her). 2k words.

[ Note: I have too many ideas with this prompt, so I made it a series! NEW LAYOUT UPDATED]

Warning/s: Possessive Anthony, Friendzone-d Anthony

I do not allow my works to be published on another site, so please check in with me, or at least give credit!

Anthony and [Name] have been friends for as long as they can recall, their fathers met at Oxford, where they finished their studies. When Edmund passed away, [Father’s Name] didn’t take it nicely, he fled the country, but that didn’t stop Anthony and [Name] from writing letters to each other, they always kept in touch. Though this season, [Name] didn’t write back to Anthony.

[Name]’s at the ripe age of eighteen, her family thought she was ready to debut, so her family voyaged back to London to find a husband for her. She was a daughter of a duke and duchess, so she had no problem with rank. She was nervous, her mother had been teaching her about the fine arts and learning different languages to entertain her husband, she didn’t like how she was doing all of this, not for herself, but for her future husband. And because of all of this, [Name] didn’t have the time to exchange regards with friends, whether it’d be Anthony or not.

“[Name], wake up! We’re here,” Beamed [Sister’s Name] as she practically yelled at [Name]’s poor ear. “How long was I asleep for?! I certainly didn’t expect we’d be here so early,” Yawned [Name] while getting off of the black carriage. Her sister and she took a moment to take in the London air that had bestowed upon them. The housekeepers and maids stood on the stairs as they greeted their employers.

“I want to thank you, Eliza, for taking care of our house after all these years!” Gasped [Father’s Name], “Do not thank me, Your Grace, for it is simply my job to take care of your fine home,” Smiled Eliza, the head housekeeper.

“I haven’t seen this house in years! The Deja vû I got,” Sighed [Mother’s Name] as she reflected on her memories when she was a young woman in London. “Hurry up, I can’t wait!” Spoke [Sister’s Name] as she opened the door to reveal their old home, the entryway filled with flowers, and the family colours. “It’s marvellous!” Stated [Sister’s Name], as she smelled the flower next to her, resulting in her sneezing in the process.

“When you were a baby, you always drew on the wall! Let’s hope it doesn’t happen again,” Winked Eliza to [Sister’s Name]. Eliza was like a second mother to them, she helped [Mother’s Name] put them to sleep, eat, and keep them entertained when their parents aren’t home, [Sister’s Name] may not remember it but [Name] did, she kept in touch with Eliza whenever her mother sends a letter out to the housekeepers.

[Name] ran up to her room in excitement, when she walked in she froze up, remembering the times Anthony and her would play with her dolls while their mothers watch them. Oh, God, she forgot to tell Anthony she was back in London nor did she have the time to. But [Name] decided to surprise him at Lady Danbury’s ball.

The Bridgerton household stayed the same. Hyacinth and Gregory playing in the corridors, Francesca and Eloise minding their own business, Anthony writing on his notepad and Benedict illustrating his future masterpiece. Eloise was reading the new issue of Whistledown that came out this forenoon, sharing her comments to Francesca as rolled her eyes at her sister, though a particular paragraph had caught her eye.

“The [Last Name]’s are in London!” Beamed Francesca, a smile smeared on her face. Her outburst made everyone stop what their doing. “Oh! How wonderful, we should pay them a visit shall we?” Clapped Violet, “We haven’t seen them in so long,” Everyone started making plans, but Anthony didn’t care for a word they said, he missed [Name] truly, though why didn’t she tell him they were coming back to Mayfair? Did she not want him to know? All these questions flooded Anthony’s mind. “Anthony, may you clear tomorrow for us? I shall write a letter to Daphne to tell her the great news!” Smiled Violet, as she looked at everyone with delight.

Anthony didn’t know why he was angry that she didn’t tell him she was going back to London. He was worried for her that’s all… “Err - yes, mama, I shall,” He nodded in his mother’s direction and left to go to his study, which was filled with notepads and stacks of paper waiting to be signed. He walks over to his desk, showing an unfinished letter he was going to give to [Name], as he looked at it longer he felt pathetic, and Anthony hated that. [Full Name] had Anthony Bridgerton wrapped around her finger and she never knew it.

[Name] was innocent and sinless, so Anthony had no reason to think of her at night. His feelings for [Name] grew each time they wrote to each other. Hell, he forgot what she looked like, and that made him eager to see her again. When Colin was off on his travels, he stopped by to see the [Last Name]’s, and that made Anthony wish he came when Colin offered him to visit [Country Name]. Colin described [Name] was more mature than before, well, it was obvious it had been YEARS since they saw each other. He could only picture her as what Colin described, which made him yearn to see her.

In honour of the first ball of the reason, Lady Danbury embellished the ballroom with flowers of all sorts, and her decorating was divine. Even the Queen commented on this floral set-up. The orchestra prepared an exquisite song as people started dancing in the centre.

After the song ended, the Bridgertons finally arrived at the venue, Eloise holding on to her dear mama’s arm for her life. She looked very uncomfortable wearing the dress, as she started moving around to find a less itchy spot. “Stop fussing with your dress,” Ordered Anthony, his mind plagued seeing [Name] tonight. “You look lovely, dear,” Complimented Violet, while she looked around smiling. “I look like a prize calf trussed up for auction!” Fumed Eloise stubbornly, Benedict thought it was funny to moo at Eloise in the process.

“Even Daphne thought most apprehensive at her first official ball and look how well her season turned out,” Scolded Violet, making Eloise change her mind a little… It didn't last long until a gentleman started to approach Eloise, Benedict made an excuse about cakes and left with Eloise, making the gentleman feel disappointed.

It was only Violet and Anthony left. “It truly is a sparse crop,” Complained Anthony, as he looked around the room. “Well, I’m sure there is someone here who would charm you, maybe a specific [Last Name]” Smirked Violet. Anthony looked at her with shocking eyes.

“After all this is the season the Viscount intends to find a wife!” Giggled Violet, emphasizing the wife part, making mamas and debutants look in their direction. “You honestly just did that?!” Whisper shouted Anthony, as he looked at his mother in disbelief. “I believe I did,” Teased Violet as mamas find their way to approach him with their daughters, practically begging for him to dance with them.

“-The Viscount intends to find a wife!” A voice all too acquainted echoed along with the gallery. “My, my, could it be?” Gasped [Mother’s Name], looking at where the noise came from. Aside from the hoard of suitor hungry mamas, she found the right person she was looking for.

“Well, if it isn’t Violet Bridgerton!” Smiled [Mother’s Name] as she dragged the rest of the family behind her. “Lady [Last Name],what a surprise! I’ve heard about your arrival yesterday, I trust you have settled in?” Chattered Violet, delighted seeing the [Last Name]’s after years. “Why, yes, we have,” - “What brings you back to London? Getting little [Name] out to society I hope?” Inquired Violet, looking at [Name] as she smiled at the young girl.

“My, how you have grown! The last time I saw you, you were as short as a cotton ball, and [Sister’s Name] you were just a baby when I first saw you!” Sighed Violet, remembering the good memories. “You must be eager to see Anthony again, are you? You two were like two peas in a pod! However, he is quite busy,” The [Last Name]’s followed Violet’s gaze on Anthony, looking too overwhelmed with the various ladies beseeching him to dance with them, their mamas following with ‘You must get to know her, she is a great dancer!’.

Accepting his fate, almost every woman’s dance card is filled with his name on it. Anthony looked around, trying to find a familiar face when he saw someone he knew all too well. He practically rushed, he waited his whole life for this moment. Anthony didn’t care if he hit a person or two, he just had to see her again, he couldn’t stop thinking about her, dreaming about her, and reminiscing about her. There it was… the spark, he knew he had met her.

“[Name]...” Whispered Anthony, his heart was beating fast and his palms were getting sweaty, he waited for this moment to come, hell, he even IMAGINED it, [Name] would be lying if she didn’t say she did the same. “A-Anthony?!” Exclaimed [Name], her eyes couldn’t believe her, they both wish they could hug each other without society turning it into a scandal. Anthony looked mature… and deadly attractive, but we don’t talk about that. Anthony swore this was the first genuine smile he made, words couldn’t explain how happy he was. He felt comfortable around her, and she felt the same. Their eyes were filled with tears they refused to let go,

Anthony had to contain himself from embracing her, [Name] almost fainted, she felt her glass slipping away from her fingers, she didn’t have the time to process what was happening. The sound of glass shattering made people look their way, [Name] felt embarrassed. “O-Oh… I didn’t mean to,” - “No worries, I’ll get it,” Anthony interrupted, he grabbed the shards of glass with the protection of his gloves. He gave the rest to a nearby butler. “Thank you, Anthony,” Smiled [Name], still feeling small after her incident. “You’re very welcome, [Name]. It is good - GREAT to see you again,” Laughed Anthony, making [Name] laugh with him. “Can’t you believe it’s been years since we saw each other?! You look so… Viscount-y?”

“Ah, yes, Viscount-y… my favourite word! I make people use it instead of Viscount since it’s too bland and Viscount-y feels very lively,” Anthony jokes, [Name] was glad he never changed over these years. “Should I call you Viscount now?” Asked [Name], she didn’t want to be disrespectful to Anthony’s name, she was used to calling him Anthony all these years. “No need, you are my dearest friend, you deserve calling me by my first name after all the burden that is me that YOU put up with,” Exclaimed Anthony, taking a sip from the champagne the waiter served.

“Enough about my title, how have you been?” Inquired Anthony, focusing on [Name]. “Life has been great, my mama’s pretty excited with me coming out into society,” Smiled [Name], Anthony felt a ping, ‘so she’s a debutante?’ Anthony thought this was his chance.. but the thought of other people considering her as an eligible bachelorette bothered him, he didn’t know why.

“Are you alright, Anthony? You look lost in thought,” Commented [Name], looking at Anthony with worried eyes, Oh, don’t get him started with her eyes, her eyes were pure, innocent, angelic like. “S-sorry, I remembered I have to dance with a few ladies…” Anthony excused, his excuse was true, he forgot everything after he saw [Name], he wanted nothing but to be with her, he wanted to protect her, and he wanted her to trust him enough to let him in. “Oh… alright! Have a great night, Anthony,” She sounded disappointed, she WAS disappointed, but she shoved it down, knowing they had to part in some time of the night. Anthony hesitantly walked away, looking back at [Name], he didn’t want to leave her, her presence made him comfortable, her scent was lustrous, and she was absolutely delicate.

Anthony went to one of the women he signed up to dance with, and before the music started, he saw [Name]… dancing with another man. He didn’t know why he was jealous, or why he cared, but nonetheless, the thought of her marrying another man made him sick to his stomach. He thought he was the perfect fit for [Name], they fit together like a glove, not the mention they have been friends when they were both as small as a biscuit.

Anthony wanted her, she only thought of him as a brother. He knew that she told him before that he was her older brother she never had, and he wanted to change that.

Accelerating. 36.

Maki was now officially in training mode. 4:30 am starts in bitter cold weather seemed cruel. Tatsumi was cruel. Maki had been nervous to see Tatsumi again once his fever finally cleared and he was up for piloting again, but it seemed all for naught once Tatsumi started excitedly explaining his training plan for the next month. Wake up, run 5kms, shower, breakfast, mod training, lunch, TC training, dinner, homework, collapse into bed. Not only did he have mech training, he had hand to hand training with Anthony and Stella, sometimes Tatsumi when he felt like it. Tatsumi was a firm and fair teacher, but he’d never imagine him standing there channeling Skylark and pushing Maki to the point he didn’t know up from down.

“Oi, turn your fucking alarm off and get the fuck up! You’ve got a competition to win, fuckwit”

With such motivation words from Tarva, Maki dragged himself out of bed. He’d been questioned endlessly by his roommates once his name was known across campus as a competitor. Strangers seemed to think it also gave them permission to come up to him and start questioning him about the competition. Maki loathed the extra attention and wished he could stick them in his shoes for a day and so they could see if it was as fun as they seemed to think it was. And it wasn’t his fellow students making a fuss, it was his sister. Mina called him every day once her classes were finished. Maki had been embarrassed at first, teased when he’d duck off to talk to her, before Tatsumi stepped in, and now his whole team had talked to his sister.

Dressing for his daily dose of torture, it was bucketing down with rain by the time Maki made it to the dorm doors. Waiting outside, Tatsumi wielded an umbrella. Any hopes of returning to his warm bed were dashed, the alpha letting himself out to join his friend in the misery

“We’re running in this?”

“Fuck no. Come on, my shoes are already soaked. We’re headed to the gym”

Making a break for the gym turned into a silent competition between them. Maki winning, but that was because he had boots compared to Tatsumi’s trainers. Letting them in, the lights were on and so was the heating. His friend prepared ahead of time

“Shit, this is more like it. I thought my balls were going to freeze off out there”

Tatsumi gave a laugh, toeing off his wet shoes to leave them by the door. Maki noticing he’d skipped his socks, so running couldn’t be on the plans for them

“We can’t have that. And don’t go thanking me just yet. We’ve got a job to do before we can train today”

“Why don’t I like the sound of that?”

“Because you know me too well. In the military they’d throw you out in that weather, but today, we’re getting in touch with your creative side”

Maki gave a snort. He didn’t have a creative side, outside of mech paint. His mech had taken his breath away when he’d seen it in its freshly painted glory. At first came the disappointment with its orange and white exterior, until he remembered what would happen when he activated it. It looked completely beastly and terrifying in its black coat, everything he’d hoped it could be

“I don’t have one”

“Don’t tell me that. Come on, we need to get started or it won’t be done by breakfast”

Maki’s stomach gave a loud rumble. Being an alpha meant he usually consumed a high calorie diet thanks to his dynamic. Tatsumi could eat like an alpha, but Maki found he still ate far more. His friend shaking his head at him, starting to lead the way into the control room

“That’s forcing my hand. Fine, food first, then work”

“You got us food?”

“Of course. I knew we couldn’t go jogging when I saw the weather forecast for this morning. I did consider making you run laps, but I’ve got something planned for today so this needs to come first”

Opening the door to the control room, Tatsumi had been busy. Bagels, coffee, buckets of paint, brushes, and long thick canvas laid in wait. Maki had a sinking feeling

“Don’t tell me…”

Beaming at him, the omega nodded as he patted the roll of canvas

“Our banners came. We’ll be painting them today. I already confirmed with Li that he and his cheer team will come at 7, so will the research team, as well as Stella and Anthony. Plus a few more guests after lunch. We had the lettering outline professionally printed, but I felt for something like this, it’d be more fun to let everyone decorate their hopes and dreams”

Maki was not a painting person. Try as he might, the line always seemed to move after he’d painted. He and painting were mortal enemies

“No offence, I would rather run laps”

“Where’s your school spirit?”

“In bed, where we should be. I’m no artist”

Tatsumi blew a raspberry at him

“Bah. It’ll be fun. Andes gave us the floor for today seeing we couldn’t do this outside. My aim is to get this done before lunch. And I’ve got another surprise for you”

“I don’t think I want it”

“Fine, but I think you’ll love it when you see it. If you want to get started eating, I’ll carry this out”

The roll of canvas looked heavy, and not to step on Tatsumi’s strength, Maki didn’t want his friend struggling alone. Breakfast wouldn’t taste as good with Tatsumi’s huffing and puffing

“I’ll help you carry it out. Breakfast better be worth all this”

Beaming at his complaining, Tatsumi patted the pile of canvas again

“Excellent, my manipulation worked. Honestly, this shit is heavy. I’m glad we won’t have to carry all of it around everyday”

He’d been had. There he was thinking of Tatsumi and Tatsumi was already three moves ahead

“You’re an arsehole. I hope you know how disappointed your grandson is”

“As long as he doesn’t hate me. Grab the other end, we’ll figure them out once they’re rolled out. There’s something good waiting inside”

“Unless it’s my bed, you’re lying”

Tatsumi teased him, tone as if taking to a small child instead of a full grown alpha

“Does my poor little man need a nap?”

Maki deadpanned his friend back. There were seven hours left until lunch and no nap time in sight. Yes. He needed a nap. He needed a nap in his warm bed

“Yes”

Tatsumi snorted. Maki was more than relieved that they’d been able to keep being friends as if nothing had happened. Plus, maybe if there were enough of them then they wouldn’t notice if he slipped off for a small nap. His friend lifting his end of the canvas

“Aw, I promise you an early night tonight. Today is all about fun”

“Maybe for you. I can’t paint for shit”

“Ah, but you will and you will like it. Come on, get those alpha muscles moving”

“You get yours moving. How are you so happy? It’s cold, raining, and we’re painting”

“You’ll find out this afternoon… and I may not have slept. Lets goooooo. Double time!”

Carrying the canvases out to the gym, when Tatsumi let his end drop, Maki did the same. His friend should have slept. Under the light of the control room, versus how Tatsumi looked under the gym lighting, the man really didn’t look terribly well. Maki making a mental note to keep checking on him during the day as the last thing they needed was Tatsumi collapsing because his training program was too much. As Tatsumi went to move to unroll the canvases, Maki stepped I

“Move, I’ll do it. You said there was something good in here, right?”

“Yep. If possible I want to get it out and organised before everyone else shows up”

“You’re not going to give me any kind of clue are you?”

Tatsumi shook his head, covering his smile with his hand. Maki wished he’d stop doing that as if he had something to be embarrassed about, nothing embarrassing counted when it was only the two of them alone

“Nope. If you can’t figure it out from all the clues you have, then I’m not helping you with the one”

Maki rolled his eyes. Taking the ends of the pile of canvas, he pulled them out towards him, unrolling them with zero care

“It’s not exactly fair when you know what’s happening and I don’t”

“If you complained less and worked faster you’d have found it by now. Okay, first one is to be painted. Let’s drag them into kind of a circle so we’re organised”

“I’ll drag, you direct. Alpha muscle and all that”

Working through the pile, Maki didn’t know why they needed so many banners. It was a six person cheer team

“Don’t you think this is a bit much?”

“No? Li and I discussed this”

If Li was involved then there was definitely going to be overkill, Maki pulling off another banner to be painted and dragging it away from the pile with a huff

“It’s not like the whole school is coming to see us”

“No, but we needed banners and it’s good for us to show we care. Though I did think we would have hit that by now”

There Tatsumi went again. Reaching the spot for the banner, Maki let himself fall on his arse. He was waging a sit in protest

“I’m not moving until you tell me what the hell has you so happy. There’s not going to be a huge cheque in the middle of all of this, is there?”

“No, but it’s just as good. Okay, maybe not just as good, but you can’t quit now”

Maki flipped him off, then flopped onto his back

“I’m protesting you and your happy mood. There’s six people in our cheer squad, Tatsumi. Six”

“So you’re not going to cheer for Stella and Anthony in their individual matches? And no one from the research time can cheer for their mods?”

Sitting back up, he’d not thought of that

“They’re allowed to watch?”

“What did you think we were taking them for? To repair mods and stayed cooped up until we need them? It’s not all about you”

“It could be. And I guess I’ve been too busy training to think, thanks to someone”

“You’re welcome. Fine, sit there you slacker, it’s painful watching you as it is. Let the real man get this done”

Maki took the bait hard

“You? You look ready to faint at any moment. What have you got that I don’t?”

Tatsumi grabbed the top banner and began dragging it off the pile towards his side of the gym

“Patience? No shoes? Five cups of coffee and knowing that you’ll love what’s waiting when you find it… but maybe I am asking too much of my poor little grandson”

“You’re insufferable when you’re like this”

“I’ll take the compliment. These muscles were made by combat, so a few small banners won’t defeat me”

“No, but I will. 5 banners each. Loser has to do what the winner says until lunch”

“Deal. You’d better pick up the pace then. I’m one up”

“I think you’re forgetting all the ones I’ve already dragged”

“You offered and the deal wasn’t in affect that the time you moved them. Get moving then”

Maki couldn’t win.

Tatsumi was excited. The banners for the individual pilots had been printed. The ones that would be hung by the school were already in the hands of the institutions maintenance team. Tatsumi had had three printed to hang in the mech training gym, and three smaller ones printed for their student pilots. Dragging off the last of the banners with the school emblem on them, he smiled at the sight of Stella standing in front of her bright yellow mech. It meant losing the competition with Maki, but it was well worth it because he knew the second Maki saw himself, he’d be excited.

Dragging the emblem over to the other ones, Tatsumi intentionally over fussed on the edges, giving Maki time to get back to the pile. Watching him, he saw the confusion on Maki’s face, before Stella’s banner was pulled back so he could check what was underneath

“Uh, Tatsumi…”

Pulling the thick silver marker out of his back pocket, Tatsumi walked back to the banners, holding the marker out to Maki

“Surprise. Here, I’ll take Stella, you go ahead and take a good hard look, then sign it. That signature might be worth something by the end of this”

“You want me to sign this? Isn’t that defacing it?”

“I’m pretty sure it’s fine. Stella and Anthony will sign there’s too. Call it favouritism, if it makes you feel better, but I wanted to see you find yourself before the others got here and you clammed up”

“I don’t remember posing for this”

Tatsumi chuckled. He knew Maki’s routine was hectic, but to forget he’d had his photo taken for the school forum was something else

“You posed the same day Stella and Anthony did. Then that image was combined with the best one of your mech. I chose it activated because I know you hate the white and orange”

Dressed in black with his midnight black mech, Maki looked like an avenging angel, descended from the heavens to win the competition. No one who looked at the photo would think a little thing like publicity would turn Maki into a walking idiot. He’d bumbled through the questions quite adorably then fallen into a sulk. For a “scary alpha”, he’d been terribly cute. Even the research team had been swayed. With wide eyes, Maki looked up at him almost fearfully

“Prof… can I really do this?”

It’d been a long time since he’d heard Maki calling him “Prof” or “Professor”. Tatsumi smiling gently

“Of course you can. I chose you. Do you really think I’d let you lose if I had no faith?”

“I…”

Getting to his feet in a flash. Tatsumi found himself in Maki’s arms. Stella’s banner beneath Maki’s boots as the alpha hugged him tightly

“I… I… thank you”

Wrapping his arms around Maki, Tatsumi smiled. Maki wasn’t one for hugging, nor was he one for public displays of friendliness. Had the others been there then he’d never of hugged him

“You’re welcome. I started this, but it’s you that’s making it happen”

“No… it’s because of you… Tatsumi”

Tatsumi’s heart gave a funny beat at his name. He knew Maki was precious to him, not only as a student but as a close friend. He was in too deep with the alpha, no matter what he might say, and no matter what his friends also said. He cared for Maki and he wanted to see him succeed with every fibre of his being

“Maki… I won’t let you down. I’ll be there for all of it and I’ll be cheering for you when you step into the arena. I don’t know if you’ll sink or swim but I know without a shadow of a doubt you will give it your all”

“You’ll be watching?”

The hug had passed a simply hug. Maki’s warmth was making Tatsumi’s exhausted muscles relax. He couldn’t scent Maki, so he knew it was because of their closeness. Every bit of him trusted in his friend

“Of course. I can’t be in the arena with you, but I can be there as close as I can be. We’re all supporting you. We all want to see you win. We all believe in you, kiddo”

“Tatsumi… I…”

“Come on, there’s no need for more words. You’re standing on Stella’s face”

Maki gave a sniffled snort, breaking the hug but keeping his hands on Tatsumi’s arms as he took a step back to look down

“Shit”

Snorting lightly, Tatsumi’s smile was full of fondness

“Yep. She’ll hit you if she finds your boot prints on her face. Go sign yourself. Like I said, it might be worth big bucks by the end of it. Hell, you might even get scholarship offers flooding through once everyone sees how good you are”

“I’ll believe it when I see it”

“Stop looking down on yourself. It doesn’t suit you. Where’s my foul attitude and fuck the rules alpha gotten to?”

“He was given a lifeline by a man he used to dislike”

With how Maki was looking at him, Tatsumi put space between them. Fiddling with his hair, he faked a pout and looked away

“You didn’t like me? I’m wounded, Maki”

“Yeah, well, past me was a bit of dick. I like you. I won’t let you down and I’m going to work hard to win. All those hours, you’re going to see just what I can do because you’ve been by my side”

That strange beat came back as Maki told him he liked him. He knew Maki meant as a friend, yet… He liked being by Maki’s side. He liked Maki’s enthusiasm and hard work. He liked it the alpha would get snappy from tiredness, or tell him off for being too demanding.

Tatsumi forced down ignored the intimacy of Maki’s words, drawing a shaky line between them

“I’ll be there until the end. Now, get off of Stella. I’m going to hang the three banners once you’ve signed yours. The other two knew it was coming, yet it’ll be a nice surprise to see them when they get here”

Maki softly said his name, emotions were too close to something else with the way Maki looked to him

“Tatsumi…”

He needed to put space between them. Tatsumi moving around Maki to the top of Stella’s banner

“It’s alright, you’ve got this”

Yessss love all these. I also see Carlisle as the reluctant leader who misses being a CMO. He's always finding reasons to wander into Sickbay and they have to keep finding polite reasons to kick him out.

Esme for the ship's counselor, absolutely. There's a longstanding joke on the bridge that she's actually the one in charge (she's half Orion).

I have Edward as the first officer (a little older I guess). He used to be in security but he got a couple battlefield promotions during the Dominion War. Carlisle saved his life during one of those battles and he saved Carlisle's life in the other. He demonstrated a unique talent for "reading" their opponents during negotiations and standoffs. Carlisle nudged him onto a command career path and he excelled despite his youth. No one will play poker with him, though. He's Bajoran—the Dominion War was a particularly difficult time for him because he felt so torn about remaining Starfleet vs resigning so he could join the resistance at home. He's still not sure he made the right decision.

Agreed, Rosalie is the Chief Engineer and Second Officer. She's bitter about Edward's promotion and feels that Carlisle has passed her over, but she's a killer engineer and even she has to admit she doesn't want to leave Engineering. Especially since she had a hand in designing the Olympic's warp drive.

Emmett is the helmsman. He's an NCO and proud of it. He and Rosalie served on the Olympic for almost a full year before they said two words to each other, and those first words were shouts after Emmett executed a particularly reckless maneuver (a.k.a. "saved the ship") in an asteroid field that damaged the port nacelle. They were married less than two months later. Tom and B'Elanna have nothing on these two for inappropriate PDA in various parts of the ship.

Alice at Ops, I love it! That's so perfect. She's that character who always comes up with bizarre ideas for how to modify their usual scans to pick up the subtlest anomaly.

And yes, Jasper at Tactical. But he also works for Section 31—he's been trying to get out for years, but they're not about to let a Betazoid go. He might be willing to jeopardize his own career (they have enough dirt on his younger, stupider days to guarantee a court martial), but their latest threat included a polite mention of Alice's history with the Maki under an assumed name. So that's that. Jasper reports directly to Admiral Aro.

My Bella is a civilian; she just came to the Olympic as a new teacher. She's crossed paths with the brooding, handsome first officer but they haven't spoken yet. It took her two weeks to stop getting lost in the corridors (she refuses to ask the computer for directions).

Todo: tried to burp the alphabet and puked, but still claims it was a success

Beloved By Gender

It's been a dark round for nonbinary wrestlers. After losing against Riho and Bryan Danielson, we have none left.

However, women are still holding strong. Starting at 23.9% of the total roster, the percentage of belovedness has risen to 34.3%. In other words, more than one out of three of the most beloved wrestlers in AEW are women.

Voting Trends

Since I lowered the number of polls by day from 10 to 5, I can't put a proper line graph of total votes per day and keep it fair, so this shows the average number of votes per matchup per day.

We still have a lovely upwards trend and a new peak on Day 22, the day Willow eliminated her third fan fav and Chuckie T held out strong.

Close Calls

No ties this round, but there was again a matchup where the decision was made by a single vote. Anna Jay beat out Minoru Suzuki by 69 votes to 68.
