Pre-colored version of a drawing I did last month. My lover’s wolf fursona named Zane as a blacksmith. In my final for my Experimental Animation class, I did a paper cut out project that included a scene with Zane working in his blacksmith shop crafting a sword for one of my characters.  In this drawing though I went with a more illustrated late 16th century Renaissance portraiture style. Some references I looked at were Hapsburg portraits such as Charles V and Philip II. I am not pleased with the left hand X[ More info and colored version will be posted soon. Drawn with charcoal on a 22 x 28 inch piece of drawing paper.

I love tumblr but I'm kind of annoyed that a post that I took 2 seconds to think of and then type (the In A Heartbeat gay culture one from yesterday) has got 234 notes or something ridiculous like that and my writing and drawing which took hours of work and effort have got 1 or 2 and (no offence to her because I love ya bestie) they are mostly from anthropomorphicwolf, my best friend who actually knows me in real life. And it's the same for anthropomorphicwolf, her (amaaaazing) stories only get a few notes. If you see an artwork you think is good, even vaguely good, like it, reblog it. If you liked a story or at the very least appreciated something about it like the good grammar or maybe one of the characters, like it, reblog it. Reblogging is better but I get it might "ruin your blog aesthetic" or whatever.

I was practicing with some equestrian portraits however I made a small change by making the rider into an anthropomorphic wolf. Reference used was one of Jan Frans van Douven’s works. This was also to help me understand more about horse anatomy and muscles.

I just wanted to take a moment to be thankful for my best friends. I'm doing this in no particular order and most of them aren't on tumblr but anyway: - @anthropomorphicwolf /GN. You're a really awesome friend. We're always on the same page and I can fangirl to you about stuff. I also love looking over at you in class when the teacher says something stupid or because we made a fandomy connection and we smile because we both know. - KO. I'm so glad you sat next to me the first day of Grade 8. You're such an adorkable weirdo but then, we all are. I love how positive you are about everything. You can always make me smile. - HO'C. You are so funny and silly and gorgeous and smart. I'm sorry you don't think so but you are to me and all our other friends. - EB. You're so weird and awesome. You give advice about crushes and flirting and then ask for it the next day. Also some top notch advice from her: "Be nice. Nicer than usual but don't be weird. Like don't compliment their toenails or anything." - @doppelgangergoat /HA. I love how open and funny you are. You're really positive while being negative and it's great. -RC. I love sitting next to you. You don't give a fuck about most of the classes and you just draw beautiful patterns all day. Except this module in EMS which you finished about a week before you were meant to. - AM. You give the best hugs in all of time and space. You can cheer anyone up just by hugging them. You're so adorable and funny and so sweet. - TM or as I call you, Not Monica. You're my oldest friend and I love how we can go months without seeing each other but still slip seamlessly into easy conversation when we see each other. - MS. I love how you go from being really loud to really soft in just a couple of minutes. I love how you've trained your dog to respond to, "please sit," rather than, "SIT." You're really great. And I love all of you dearly. I haven't put all my friends even though I do love them all because some of them I just don't have enough in common with to be best friends and others I have only known for a really short amount of time like @iwaslazy.
