It's always "Sansa was so stupid and naive for not immediately understanding that Joffrey was a total creep" and never "Not one member of her family decided to warn her that their dad had handed her over to a total creep for the rest of her life".
Like, if you want to talk about Sansa "betraying Ned and selling out her family" (which she never did, but never mind), first explain to me how they didn't betray and sell her out first.

I really wish the HOTD fandom would stop with the false “concern” they claim to have for black characters, specifically in regards to Laena.
Alicent did not ‘steal’ Laena’s storyline, Laena was sidelined for Daemyra. If the writers wanted to, they could’ve included both Rhaenicent & Laenyra.
It doesn’t help that the same people saying this, are the same people harping on the idea that Laena would be okay with Daemon sleeping with his niece on the day of her funeral instead of comforting his daughters. Polygamous or not, she’s a mother, her children would’ve been her first priority.
And while we’re on the topic of polygamy, this fandom only uses it to justify the ill treatment of woc and reduce them down to yes men for the white women yall self insert into.

You know those fics where Catelyn Tully Stark is depicted as this evil bitch who disrespect the North, its people, its culture, its Gods? That the Northmen hate her because she's one of the southern ladies throughout centuries that become the Lady of Winterfell and believe in the Faith of the Seven? That she somehow always insists for her children to stay away from their direwolves till the end? Where, I ask? Where tf those craps ever written in canon?! WHERE?!
Because I tell you I'm reading A Storm of Swords right now, and I find nothing of those shits. She's always courteous to the Northmen, even those who are huge-rawdy-closer to wildling type and don't give a shit about propriety like Greatjon Umber. She doesn't look down on Maege Mormont who fights just as good as men like those crap fics suggest. When Robb comes back to Riverrun from his campaign in Westerlands and they learn about what she's done, Maege sympathizes with Cat and tells her that she would've done the same if it were her daughters that's been taken. The Greatjon lifts her in the air and tells her some optimistic motivational words about how Robb gonna beat Jaime again. What else, she's horrified when Robb tells her that Grey Wind is not allowed inside the keep because he doesn't like Jeyne Westerling's uncle. She REMINDS Robb that Grey Wind is part of him, and BELIEVES that the Old Gods has sent the direwolves for her children to be their protectors. A chill literally "went through her" when she believes that Jeyne's uncle is not good for her son, all because Grey Wind also doesn't trust him (or as Robb says, "doesn't like the smell of him). She has to beg Robb to send Jeyne's uncle away.
All I'm saying is that, I won't give any Catelyn haters a minute of my life if I can help it. Just say you are a misogynist and be done with it. The fandom really hates her all because she refuses to mother a child that is not her responsiblity, that she owes nothing of. They hate her because she's just trying to save her remaining children--two little girls whom in the eyes of her eldest son worth next to nothing. Robb refuses to save his sisters, and when his mother takes matter in her own hands, they condemn her, as if they wouldn't have done the same thing in her position. It's so easy to see her as the obstacle to Robb's campaign, yet people tend to forget that any decent parent would do the exact same thing. Especially when ASOIAF universe is filled with murdered children.

When will the Rhaegar stans leave Elia aloneeeeeee. Also extra points to the Lyanna fans constantly insecure over Elia of Dorne.

it's insane how daenerys also depicts vulnerable girlhood like other characters in asoiaf and is despised for making her own decision while rhaenyra, too, gets contempt for showing vulnerable girlhood, womanhood AND motherhood. It's amazing how these aspects for their character is disregarded by people so that they can hate on the characters and label daenerys and rhaenyra as, one dimensional girlboss characters who have no complexity. oh and another reason why people won't talk about this vulnerable side of dany and nyra's character is because, checks notes, targaryens are eViL no matter what...

you go into the critical tags of a male character and its like "yeah he abused women and murdered innocent kids but he's not outright terrible" and then you go into the normal tags of a female character and they're calling her an evil bitch for like, protecting her children or something

one thing you have to understand about this fandom is that if sansa never asked for sweetsleep or blocked the maester from giving it to sweetrobin, the same people accusing her of murdering him would instead condemn her for denying him life saving medication that can manage his seizures

Bran's arc includes
- Refusing to die when everyone expects you to
- Remembering yourself and helping others find their true selves
- Valuing life
- Finding hope and bravery even in the worst of times
- Being dutiful and protecting people
Yet some think Bran is going to be an evil sorcerer/will die and be possessed by bloodraven.

"There are clearly parallels between Joffrey/Sansa and Rhaegar/Lyanna"
So true!
"Rubies flew like drops of blood from the chest of a dying prince, and he sank to his knees in the water and with his last breath murmured a woman's name"

someone really commissioned a piece of art to display Aegon III and Daeneara as this happy targ family with Jaeheara’s old doll cast aside in the corner to spite the character of a 10 year old traumatized and neurodivergent little girl. Overriding the fact that Aegon III largely ignored Daeneara, used her as a brood-mare, and was remembered as a miserable man who despised all things dragon-related. I think one of the worst things about the asoiaf fandom is not who prefers what character or faction, you should really just like who you like. It’s the stupid and messed up readings of the text and its characters. In a story obviously and broadly meant to outline the horrors of classism in a medieval fantasy setting, we constantly have to deal with this loud, stupid and aggravating section of the fandom who demands to miss the point. Little girls who even slightly threaten their categorically wrong reading of the text are despised while men who are canon sex offenders with silver wigs on need to be defended for all their actions bc at the end of the day, they’re preserving the glory of their favourite noble line in the anti classism fantasy series.

Hi! I hope you're having a great day!
I have seen so many posts of who Jon will end up with and it's so funny that Sansa is always not on the list. Arya, Val, and Dany are all top picks! Like Arya! Imagine thinking Jon would marry Arya but not considering Sansa because she is not his "type". It's not even about the incest of it all the hypocrites! She's out of the race because of that goddmann willowy creature line. Jon Targaryen would marry anyone else except Sansa Stark, his eldest living female cousin just because she's not supposedly his type.
Imagine hating Sansa so much you do my boy dirty like that and ignore things like this:
Tumblr media
in order to argue he doesn’t like people who need a defender. He acted to save the direwolf pups too so you might even say this is an essential character trait we’ve seen in him since the beginning.
Jon is a guy who instinctively protects the vulnerable. He isn’t repulsed by it. He’s playing the knight to Sam above, but the same attitude comes up when interacting with women where you get the sense, Jon is a chivalrous guy who takes action to protect and help those who need it.
Furthermore, if you read his interactions with Alys and that convo with Ygritte about her potentially being abused by a man, that tells us, this isn’t a guy who is insensible to the power dynamics (physical or legal) that specifically victimize women, so it’s wild to me the fandom keeps trotting that line out like we didn’t read everything else about Jon that disproves their hope that Jon is a sexist ass.
And if we’re talking about “type” (which that line isn’t about in the first place!), Jon wasn’t attracted to Ygritte’s violence. Actually, that disturbed him. No, he was attracted to Ygritte’s smile and her singing. He admired Val’s stoicism. That, not a woman killing a man, but her strength of character, is what made him say, women are the strong ones:
Tumblr media
Oh look, saving a baby, there goes Jon hating losers that need saving again! I think the reasonable conclusion to make is that he will have compassion and respect for Sansa withstanding everything she’s had to live through since leaving Winterfell. I understand that everyone says he likes warrior women, but the things we’re told attract him, aren’t that. What we do know is that he wanted Winterfell, a lady wife, kids, and wants to give said lady wife flowers. Hold on a sec, hold on, singing, flowers, wanting to live in Winterfell and have children like the siblings he lost, that reminds me of someone…
Also, I made a post about the fandom’s weird use of that line years ago:

Even if Jon was having a moment of disliking a certain type of girl (which he wasn’t), all you have to do is think of Lyanna in her bed of blood screaming for her brother to come to the conclusion that the author doesn’t want you to mock or despise someone in need of rescuing. And if you read a few Jon chapters, we can also come to the conclusion, Jon doesn’t shrink from playing the hero. It’s a tendency with him. One might even imagine when face to face with a “princess” in need of one, who had a romanticized view of the black knights of the wall, it will be particularly fulfilling experience.
