bob, eliza, & bellarke...

so i want to start this by saying that this has been pretty hard and confusing for me as someone who is not only a fan of beliza, but as someone who has been helped greatly by bob and his openness about his struggles with mental health. to invalidate anybody’s emotions right now by saying things like “you don’t even know them” etc. is extremely disrespectful to those who’ve felt inspired and helped by them and their actions. while stan culture can be extremely toxic, like it or not, celebrities are seen as inspirational and impactful figures to a lot of people in the same way characters can be, especially considering whatever they’ve been through or overcome is real.

to everyone out there immediately ‘canceling’ beliza, hating them, saying awful things, or even sending hate online -- please take a step back and breathe.

we do not know bob. we do not know eliza. we do not know arryn. we do not truly know anything about their relationships. we do not know what happened in relationships that we are not involved in or witness to.

do i support victims? YES.

however, do i support toxic cancel culture? NO.

when it comes to cases of sexual abuse/violence, less than 2% (if that) of all reported allegations are proven false. while arryn has not alleged any sexual abuse (that i know of), abuse accusations in general most likely have similar statistics.

i believe it is important to believe survivors, but i also believe in withholding final judgment until more evidence/facts/statements/etc. have been provided. as of right now, neither bob nor eliza have spoken out and until that happens, IF that happens, i will not ‘cancel’ them -- but i also will not be actively supporting them.

regardless of what happens, regardless of the truth behind arryn’s allegations, i sincerely hope she receives the help and support she needs to move forward with her life.

if this is proven to be false, i hope bob and eliza are okay. if this is proven to be true, i hope the both of them get the help they clearly need and learn from their mistakes, and i hope they do not continue to receive praise and support from fans. 

no matter what, though, NO ONE deserves to be harassed online.

as for bellamy blake, clarke griffin, and bellarke? i am mature enough to recognize that actors are not their characters. i will continue to be a fan of these amazing characters and this amazing relationship, and i’m not sorry about that. the show is almost over and I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts, and as all of this continues to fall out, i’ll have to reevaluate if i can support any of bob or eliza’s future projects.

edit: because some of y’all clearly can’t comprehend complex thoughts, let me spell it out for you.

edit: eliza has officially posted on instagram what appears to be a denial of arryn’s accusations. she has completely laid out the timeline of her relationship with bob, denying the cheating accusations — which lets you assume she’s also denying the gaslighting, manipulating, etc. surrounding the alleged affair.

take with that what you will, but no matter what, online bullying and harassment is NEVER okay, especially targeting beliza’s friends and family.

Oh hey, I don’t have to pretend to like the actor of a character I despise anymore. That’s a relief. And this isn’t cancel culture, this is a person and a relationship that’s had flashing warning signs all over it for a long long time now, and anyone who hasn’t known that wilfully has their head in the sand.

Okay, now that that’s out of the way, on to more important things.

I’ve seen a lot of people say they’re not watching the show anymore because of this. Please don’t do that. Well, I mean, if the only reason you’ve been in it is for THAT ship, well, then I guess you can stop watching if this has given you a crisis of faith, but for everyone ELSE who doesn’t give two shits about that ship, please do stay.

A show is a production that involves hundreds of people. All of these hardworking people don’t deserve to have their hard work ignored or maligned because two of their coworkers are terrible people. Sometimes your coworkers suck, I’m sure most of us have had shitty coworkers at one time or another, but you still have to work with them because you’re all just employees and unless they do something specifically in your presence there’s no complaints that you can make.

Don’t assign them more power than they have - these two were still just employees, despite having lead credit. They’re not the boss or even managers. Be glad that this season they have basically been bit players thus far, and hope that this continues. Everyone else has had far more prominent and interesting storylines - please support them and their work. They deserve the recognition that for too long has been going to those other two.

Support and show your love to Marie, Lindsey, Richard, Tasya, Shannon, JR, Chuku, Shelby, Ivana, Adina, Tati, Luisa, Jess, Sachin, Lola, Lee, Alaina, Jason, Neal, John, Iola, Adain and the other guest actors whose names I’ve missed, the writers, the directors, the camerapeople, the stuntpeople, the makeup artists, the scenery artists, the extras, and the other people working on the show whose roles I’ve not listed. They deserve to be recognized for all of the hard work they’ve put in bringing this show to life.

I gave my opinion on this issue last year a couple times; mostly through reblogs. It ultimately led me to stop watching The 100. The evidence at the time clearly pointed to one single conclusion, B*b abused & cheated on Arryn with El*za. Today Arryn confirmed what we all knew to be true & I’m proud of her for sharing her story! It sickens to know that people will try & defend those two! To those will undoubtedly harrass, insult, or discredit Arryn, GO FUCK YOURSELVES! To those will defend Bob & Eliza, GO FUCK YOURSELVES! To Bob & Eliza themselves, hope you both rot in hell you pieces of shit!

Thoughts on Eliza’s statement?

This is the third message I’ve received asking this. So, I’ll address is once, and once only.  

Realistically, this whole situation is messy and horrible, but more importantly, it’s none of our business. No one is ever going to know the reality of the situation that Arryn, Bob, or Eliza were in so we don’t have the right to an opinion either way. Arryn made accusations, whether true or false, no one will know but the three of them. Eliza made a statement, again, whether true or false, only those three know the truth.

I’m here purely to see out the end of The 100 and then I’m done for good.  

But I will say one final thing: If you are one of the many people sending nasty comments, death threats, or the horrible fucking ‘gifts’ to any of the three actors involved- you are disgusting and quite frankly, part of the fucking problem. No matter who is at fault in this situation NO ONE deserves to be treated the way some of you are treating them. 

Being kind costs nothing. Do better.
