Why I think Chad Charming is even worse than he seems

Needed warning: Not Chad friendly. If you are a fan of his, please proceed to read with caution.

I've noticed on Tumblr, Chad is a fairly popular icon. And that in itself isn't really an issue. Many people like characters that I don't, and that's okay. And I'm sure many people dislike characters that I do like.

But at the same time.... People appreciate certain aspects of his character that I personally feel uncomfortable with. And in this post I will explain what those aspects are and why.

His friendship with Audrey is actually quite troubling to me

Chad and Audrey's friendship, often named "Chaudrey" is quite well liked. I.... Find it a bit shady.

When I first watched through Descendants, I wasn't under the impression that we were supposed to take Chad's romantic feelings for Audrey seriously. I thought it was more of a joke that he had a crush on her and was ridiculous about it, so more of a comic relief thing than a serious aspect of the story.

But I've heard that in Audrey's Diary it says that after Audrey's breakup with Ben and humiliation, Chad was very much there for her and was supportive.

Big red flag.

What I find troubling about this is that it's during this very specific period of Audrey's life, that all of a sudden Chad is being so doting. As a guy myself, I would be somewhat suspicious of a dude who fancies a girl suddenly being very attentive and comforting to her after a breakup, suspicious that maybe it's just him trying to slip through and become her new boyfriend.

Of course it would be ridiculous to say that this is a general rule. Of course there would be guys in Chad's situation who genuinely would just want to be there for a friend in need. Maybe it really is that case with him.

But here's the thing.... Knowing Chad, would a logical conclusion really be that his intentions here were pure?

In School of Secrets, its shown that Chad was dating 11 girls at the same time.

In Descendants 2, we see that Chad actually holds somewhat sexist views on women.

And in Descendants 1, we can all remember how he was more than happy to pretend to be romantic toward Evie to just get her to do things for him, and then sold her out when it suited him.

In a way, whether or not Chad's comfort toward Audrey is sincere is a bit beside the point. At the end of the day, suppose you knew a guy with a similar personality and history as Chad's suddenly being a super friend to a girl he liked when she had just broken up with her boyfriend and was devastated about it. Would you not find him shady? Why should Audrey be any different to him than the other 11 girls he clearly fancied? What really indicates that he isn't using similar charms and manipulation that he used on Evie?

And this interpretation kinda is furthered to me by my next point.

2. In a way... Chad takes advantage of Audrey while she is mentally unwell

Descendants 3 on the surface seems as if Audrey is cruel to Chad and he is the poor victim.

But... Let's again, analyse this from a logical perspective, in oppose to the perspective the writers intend for us to take:

Audrey gets taken control of by the sceptre. It plays on her thoughts, her insecurities, and mental damage to turn her into this pink demon figure. It's messing with her brain.

Chad sees Audrey like this, and rather than act with concern that she is not being herself.... He actually genuinely sees this as an opportunity for him. He rushes toward her and offers to become her boyfriend (no seriously watch the scene, he does), or her sidekick, and also offers his support in whatever it is she is planning to do.

He's not worried for her. Not at all. He's *delighted* with this turn of events. Is this really the behaviour of a loyal best friend who cares deeply for this girl? Or the behaviour of a guy who is more than willing to take advantage of her situation to potentially become her man?

Contrast this with Ben's response when Audrey confronts him. He is concerned for her. He knows she isn't being herself. He immediately puts two and two together that she is under a spell and offers his help. How messed up is it that her ex boyfriend who she hasn't seen for an entire year is behaving more caring to her than her best friend?

It could be argued that Chad offering his help to Audrey is to be seen as him simply being afraid that she would put him under the sleeping spell unless he was of use to her. But look at his body language, his lines, and his attitude in the scene. Does it really seem like he is scared for his life? Or does it seem like he's happy?

Not to mention, even as she batters and intimidates him throughout the film, he still doesn't give up trying to get a date with her. At one point, rather than show self preservation instincts and go along with her quietly, he asks if they can hang out at his place. So... Even if he was afraid, would it really change him trying to pull this off?

If a true friend sees you making questionable decisions and not being yourself, they try to steer you back to the right path, they try to find out what's going on with you so they can help appropriately. Chad does neither of these things.

3. He is a hypocrite towards Ben

Okay this one is a bit more speculative. It could just be my protectiveness of Ben talking, but in D3, when Ben says it has been beneficial to Auradon for the VKs to live in it, Chad yells "yeah, especially for you!". Considering that Chad is standing by Audrey as he says this and it seems bitter, I get the impression that he is calling Ben out for Audrey's heartbreak.

And I get it, Ben didn't speak to Audrey after the love spell came off him. That wasn't acceptable.

But... As I said in my previous post, of all the people in the series, is Chad really one to throw stones here?

First of all, as of my aforementioned suspicions of his character's motives, I would find it more believable that this would not be anger at Ben for the idea that he has *hurt* Audrey, but rather envy of him being king and having formerly been Audrey's boyfriend. And using the fallout of the stadium performance as a self righteous justification.

Secondly, even if I were to give him the benefit of the doubt that he is mad at Ben for the right reasons..... He has no room to talk here. Chad literally has cheated on multiple girls, led on and manipulated Evie and just treats girls like utter trash. Ben's one situation of questionable neglect of Audrey is absolutely nothing compared to the hijinks Chad has pulled throughout the franchise.

Just for the record, I'm unsure the phrase "taking advantage of" can apply to a situation not involving sexual abuse. I'm pretty sure it can, but just in case I'm wrong there, please hold me accountable so I can correct it. Thank you.

Synopsis: At first you were reluctant, but when your two closest (and only) friends Tara and Mindy convince you to come to a movie night, you realize sometimes meeting new people is a good thing…

Warnings: none really since this is basically just fluff, use of profanity, Chad being an absolute himbo, reader being a flustered mess!

Series: Pt.1 , Pt.2

You weren't really sure why you agreed to this. You had told Mindy and Tara time and time again that you didn't really like the idea of parties, or gatherings, or anything of the such. It's not that you were super anti-social, you just- had problems starting conversation is all. Which is why the only friends you had made all of freshman year were Mindy and Tara, who were really good at easing you out of your tiny little comfort zone. Today that came in the form of convincing you to join them for a movie night. They promised it would be super chill and fun, the perfect girl's night to end the year off! So of course, you accepted.

You were now all about halfway through the first movie on the list, Legally Blonde, which was one of your favorites. All three of you quickly ran out of popcorn to share, prompting Mindy to get up to refill the bowl. "I'll be right back guys, pause it please!" Mindy had called out on her way to the kitchen. You were now left with just Tara, who quickly filled the silence by asking you questions. "Soooo how's your college love life been going so far? Had any steamy hookups?" She asked with a laugh as she nudged your arm. You felt your face get warm quick. "Cmon Tara, you know I don't like talking about that stuff." You said casually, not really mad at her for asking. "I know, I know, I was just curious." Just as Tara said that you heard Mindy walking back into the living room, and it sounded like she was talking to someone. "NO Chad, I already told you it's a girl's night. That means you can't join." Mindy had now taken her place sitting next to Tara again, leaving who you assumed was Chad standing in front of the couch.

Did Mindy have a brother? You didn't remember her ever mentioning him. "Cmon please, you know I'm not gonna bother y'all I just wanna watch the movie!" He was looking directly at Mindy as he gestured to the still paused TV, his request being promptly ignored. "You want to watch Legally Blonde? Really Chad?" Tara was questioning him, not fully believing his motive for joining the three of you. "Yes okay? It's one of my favorites I have like half of it memorized." Mindy scoffed at that, but from the look on her and Chad's faces you could tell it was probably true. "It's still a no Chad." He didn't seem to like that answer, continuing to practically plead Mindy to join in. "Ya know what fuck this, I'm watching it." And just like that he plopped down on the couch, right next to you. It was a fairly small couch and even just the three of you had barely any wiggle room, but with the addition of Chad you were definitely squeezed together. Chad didn't seem to mind though, quickly settling in and draping his arm over the back of the couch. Mindy, feeling defeated, grabbed the remote with a sigh as she accepted the crashing of girl's night.

"Fine, I guess you're staying..." She rolled her eyes at him, and he only grinned back. "Thanks, sis!" It was only now that he realized he was sitting next to a completely random girl as he raised his eyebrows at you. "OH I'm sorry, have we met before?" He asked, hoping the answer was no so he didn't have to be embarrassed. "Oh right, no you haven't. Chad this is our friend Y/N; Y/N, this is my idiot brother Chad!" Mindy quickly answered Chad's question, being sure to emphasize the word idiot. "Well thank you Mindy for that, charming- introduction, but I was asking Y/N, not you." He gestured to you as he said your name, now making direct eye contact with you. He was probably waiting for you to say something, considering you had been silent thus far. "O-oh yea I'm Y/N and uh Mindy never mentioned she had a brother." You stuttered out, hoping you didn't offend him in the process.

"Oh she didn't huh? Well now you know!" He said as he shot Mindy a glare and then you a grin. "Anyway it's lovely to meet you, and don't listen to Mindy about me being dumb okay? What I lack in brains, I make up for with Hobbs and Shaw here." Chad flexed each of his arms as he said that, and you now realized how attractive he was. Your felt your face get warm again, now hyper aware of how close the two of you were sitting. "Ah yes classic Chad, flex your muscles within the first five minutes of meeting a girl." Tara had said snarkily, perhaps hoping to annoy him into leaving the three of you be. "Hey they're my greatest accomplishment okay! Plus I'm sure she doesn't mind, do you?" Oh you definitely didn't mind. "N-No it's fine I don't mind." You were sure your voice sounded shaky as hell as you spoke. The longer this gorgeous man was next to you, the more flustered you got. So much for a peaceful girl's night...

Some time had passed as the four of you watched the movie in what was mostly silence, besides the occasional comment Chad had made on Elle Woods being a "girlboss" and Mindy having something snide to say in return. Their dynamic made you glad you were an only child. You had now reached the scene where Elle Woods figured out that it was actually the daughter who had killed her dad. You loved this scene, and you had the monologue memorized since you were a little girl. You quickly went to match Elle word for word. You didn't even notice that Chad had gotten excited about the scene too. "...at the risk of deactivating the amonium thyglocilate!" You had both said, or rather yelled it, at the TV in perfect unison. You saw Mindy and Tara's heads snap to the both of you in shock. "I guess he really does like the movie..." Tara said as she grabbed another handful of popcorn. "I told you it's one of my favorites!" Chad said before turning his eyes back to the screen. The shared moment between you two made you feel more at ease, so you went to agree with him.

"Yea it's mine too." You were still pretty soft spoken, but at least you had found some more confidence. You had also found hunger. "Hey Tara, can you pass me the popcorn." She swiftly handed it to you and you set in your lap, going to grab a handful. Just as your hand reached the inside of the bowl, you felt Chad's hand bump against yours as he also went to grab popcorn. It was brief, but his hands were so pretty and soft that you felt like you would remember those two seconds for the rest of your life. You were basically gawking down at the popcorn bowl now, hand still in it. "Oh, sorry." Chad said, muffled through his mouthful of popcorn. God he was so cute."Oh it's fine, don't worry about it." You said as quickly as possible, avoiding looking directly at him. He only shrugged as his attention went back to the movie. It was only silent for maybe ten minutes before Chad spoke again.

"Okay it is literally so hot in here. Is the AC broken or something?" Chad asked as he looked towards Mindy. "Yea it stopped working like two days ago, I have to call and have it fixed." Mindy replied, still not taking her eyes off of the movie. "Well it's like unbearable, I don't know how y'all are wearing jeans." He gestured towards you and Tara as he said that. You didn't realize it was hot, you probably thought it was just him. But to be fair you were wearing your favorite bell bottoms and your thin pink tank-top with a black star in the middle. So it wasn't a very warm outfit to begin with. While you were busy reflecting on your clothing choices Chad had found time to stand up in front of the couch. And now he was taking his shirt off...

You thought you were going to pass out. "Cmon seriously Chad! Do you have to find every excuse to take your shirt off?" Mindy yelled out at him. "What I'm hot okay! Leave me be." He sure was hot. Way too hot... You almost wished it was just you and him so- "Hey! You okay there? You were kinda staring off." Chad said as he waved his hands in front of your face. Oh shit. You were staring, and everyone had definitely noticed now... "Oh my god Y/N! Were you staring at Chad's abs?" Tara asked in an almost squeely voice. You wanted the ground to swallow you, mainly because she was right. "What no! I was staring at the movie!"

You rushed to defend yourself, hoping it was believable enough of an excuse. Chad wasn't buying it though. "It's okay if you were I totally get it, I would stare at me too." You were definitely blushing now. Mindy once again rolled her eyes at Chad's comment, causing them to exchange another death glare, which gave you time to change the topic. "Anyway, we should probably keep watching the movie." Chad jumped a little as you said that, realizing he was missing it and going to sit back down next to you. You now realized what Chad meant by it being hot. You only hoped you weren't sweating from the intense shared proximity.

The rest of the movie went well, although there was one moment where Chad went to adjust next to you, spreading his legs open just a little wider so that he was touching yours. You swore you almost passed out. Finally the credits rolled and Chad stood up to start clapping, it was kinda cute. "Wooooo great movie! Gets better every time!" Chad yelled as he turned to face the three of you. "Yea whatever Chad, you done bothering us now?" Mindy asked as she also stood up with now once again empty popcorn bowl in hand. "Yes in fact I am, I will leave you ladies to the rest of your girl's night." Chad said as he grabbed his shirt off of the coffee table. He went to walk back to his room before stopping to lock eyes with you. "And hopefully I'll see you again later Y/N." He said with a wink that hopefully Mindy and Tara didn't catch.

Oh yeah. You would definitely be seeing him again.

Hermione 'Hermie' Leona Bing.

The 14 year old (by d3) daughter of The Ringmaster (Maximilian Bing) and Miss Atlantis.

She is a member of the Badun Detective Agency and as well as the Anti-heroes club.

She was an orphan by 7 years old and left to run what was left of her father’s circus on the isle.

She lives by herself with her animals in her father’s old trailer by the woods where the circus tents and trailers are located.

She is known as an animal whisperer and a Jack of all trades on the isle because she can do nearly every circus act there is.

She obsessed with circus related things—ESPECIALLY clowns.

She is in denial about the true nature of her parents' deaths and is emotionally and mentally unstable due to them.

She has quite a sweet tooth—especially when it's traditionally considered circus food.

She collects glass figures as well as odd/deformed furniture, toys, and photos (along with just vintage photos in general) and loves colorful things.

She also loves reading, filing, painting, dagger throwing, acrobatics, gymnastics, dancing, playing games, and taking care of animals.

The Mastermind & the Architect

How I get along with INTPs as an INTJ

I love INTPs, you guys are my type of friends to hang out with. Honestly I don’t see that awkward anti-social stereotype that looms over being an INTP. Hanging out with you, there’s no peer pressure to speak of, no Chad’s to deal with, no sense to impress anybody. We chat over beers, get high, play video games, share insights about life and people. Type descriptions have painted you as these emotionless sentient robots, totally missing the mark that you are also socially very intelligent. Perhaps the most socially intelligent of all the types. Oftentimes you deliver the most insightful life advice. Your awareness of public sentiments is completely slept on.

I guess it’s just my own anecdote, but the INTPs I know somehow manage to always be in the know. Like Varys in Game of Thrones, you have a 6th sense of little birds spread out everywhere informing you things. Be honest, am I correct that you possess the juiciest gossip details? No worries, I’m not here to know them if it’s not my business. But damn those juicy details can be so accurate though.

The word ‘socializing’ by the mainstream definition may not necessarily apply to you. But you definitely are out there exploring whatever tickles your curiosity. Shit I’m convinced you’re everywhere, physically and virtually. Even if you’re one of the minority that literally hides in Mom’s basement, you’re all over on the Interwebs. I see you in all kinds of subreddits, discord servers, subculture forums, MMORPG worlds, etc. It puts my lurking game to shame. And you know everything. And in some circles, you’re very popular.

You range from vibing and lurking to leading group conversations where everyone quiets down to listen to you. “STFU @everyone, our INTP lord is talking.” It’s a reputation rightly earned! You are the trusted beacon of truth and sentinel of knowledge. Whatever you say will be considered highly advisable. I’d be so busy taking notes and learning, or sometimes I have no idea what’s going on looking like a clown. I’m the socially awkward penguin here.

That leads me to another point: ‘leadership’ by the mainstream definition may not necessarily apply to you either. Yes we know it’s not your charming charisma that we’re gravitated to. It’s your talent for solving problems and discovering insightful information that enable you to command the most value and respect amongst your peers. The most conscientious of you implement so many new processes, enforcing standards, and become our role models. You advise us to make better decisions, give us confirmation checks and confidence boosters, and build us processes and systems that will enrich all of our lives.

That’s all thanks to your Extraverted Feeling and Extraverted Intuition. It’s a stack that makes you altruistic, unpretentious, and unassuming. You help without ulterior motive, except for figuring what things could be improved. If there’s anything egotistical about you, it’s to be understood that your intentions are for the best of the tribe. You playfully and intensely explore deep in the tangled webs of any system, whether we’re talking about society, a software application, or the constructs of reality, searching for how it’s all pieced together while wearing the face of a mild-mannered pleasant person. You sync with the social atmosphere without trying to disrupt it. Like why kill the vibe for no reason right? The music is fine, don’t mess with the playlist.

The contrast with my Introverted Intuition and Introverted Feeling is that, instead of having this kind of symbiotic relationship with the community vibe, I am trying to figure out how to fit my ego into the mix. That doesn’t mean I’m doomed to disrupt everything in my path and that people need to bend themselves for me. On the contrary, I’m constantly reformulating my self-concept so that I can fit like a jigsaw puzzle piece. I daydream about what puzzle I’d like to belong to. I imagine where I’d like to be whether I need to come to emotional terms with myself or change the world around me. So, unlike you, I don’t have the itch to understand how everything is made. I just need to know the relevant things in order to fit in.

Who I am and how I feel is all in my own imaginary world; and it’s the most real thing to me. Everyday I remind myself that the idea of Me is nothing but a fleeting fantasy. There’s always a difference between that and what’s actually real. My existence would be nothing but hopes and dreams if I have nothing to show for it. NiFi in itself is a function pair of existential delusion. That’s why I can be so anal about empirical truth, and put so much value on evidence. I hang on to my SeTe objective concrete perceptions very tightly, as my life literally depends on it. And I make sure I’m correct. The way I see myself would be wrong and not real if it was based on false information.

While both our Thinking-Sensing functions want to get to the bottom of the truth, I love how you don’t care about being right or wrong. You don’t feel attacked about being proven incorrect. You don’t care about being smart. You don’t judge yourself when somebody questions your logic. All of your energy is spent on proving theories, since none was deemed necessary on proving yourself. This is where your intensity lives. Spending all of your energy digging deep down to get to the bottom of understanding whatever you’re focused on. After all, truth only stands after being excavated, scrutinized, and ruthlessly tested.

The funny thing is that truth is elusive. The world as we see it is a playground that is too vast, complicated, and ever evolving to truly be conclusive about it. There are so many ways and angles to look at something, all of them could be correct. Hence the knowledge vault that is your mind is always cracked open. I’d like to think it’s a never ending adventure, like building elaborate sand castles on an infinity beach. But you tend to admit getting lost in these thoughts can make you go crazy. Everything can be explained, we just don’t know how yet. Introverted Thinking and Introverted Sensing gets down to the nitty gritty and figures it out.

That means you are a Sensor. Yep. With all the shit-talking about Intuitives being smarter, it just happens that the type regarded as the smartest is a Sensor. That whole thing is bullshit anyway. Intuitives generate ideas on top of ideas diverging away from the concrete. On the other hand, your Extraverted Intuition observes the complex and abstract universe so you can render it in with more detail and reduce ambiguity. Life’s troubleshooter doesn’t generate speculations, you search for them. You spend your time trying to make sense of it all. No stone is left unturned. Your knowledge vault is full of concrete minute details of what you understand about stuff. And you can be a real stickler about those details.

My SeTe seeks to consume those TiSi details. Especially if it’s about something I value, I want to hear everything that starts with “Well, yes no maybe. The devil is in the details.” When pursuing my goals, I like to research and make solid logical reasoning to ensure I know what I’m getting into. INTPs have been the indispensable sources of guidance for someone like me who’s driven to stay informed. People say it’s good to be well researched. But where do all the sources come from, you know what I mean? Abe Lincoln once said “behind every great INTJ is a great INTP,” right? You guys have saved my ass, humbled me, and made me happier along the way. There’s seriously not enough credit given for the good and value you have contributed for me and society at large.

When I look into myself, I see that being wrong feels like downing a glass of whiskey. It burns and I’ll just have to tough it up. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger right? To stand corrected is character building. I’ve built up my tolerance, but it used to be so painful. It wasn’t an experience I’d like to go through often. To not be wrong and be hurt again, I dive down the information rabbit holes studying to gain back my confidence. What actually happens was that I’ve been burying myself hiding under the mounds of data I gathered. I didn’t want to be exposed and thought as stupid. I didn’t want to be seen as a fraud. I didn’t want to find out my existence has no real value. I didn’t realize I became someone who was very insecure about who he was.

And here you are as I’m watching you gracefully prancing around without that kind of fear holding you back, waltzing on the line between the realm of what you know and the much bigger one of what you don’t know. I’ve heard you say “no idea” many more times than I’ve ever said it. I’ve seen you routinely make brainfart mistakes. I’ve caught you being wrong on so many counts. Yet you still stand as the one many of us count on to solve problems. That takes a lot of courage to do what you do. It’s mesmerizing. Needless to say, I really look up to you.

Modeling you I realized it wasn’t even about accumulating knowledge, but about humbling myself and embracing my vulnerability. And there, I see that you can feel just as unsure and as unconfident as I am, perhaps even more! That comes with such a relief for me. I admit that I’ve felt intimidated by you. Yes as crazy as that sounds, I’m scared to push back when you’re sure about something. I just assume you’re more right. But the more I understand you, the more I see you enjoy stepping in and help out. Whether it’s answering a noob question or one even you don’t have an answer for, it’s as if it was an invitation to get to know each other.

Who cares who’s got the bigger brains. The point has always been about building an amiable relationship by meeting together intellectually. You’ve shown me to not take intelligence so seriously, that there’s no such thing as a dumb question, that it’s OK to say “I don’t know.” I learned to loosen up about being logical. And ironically that made me see the truth: I am an emotional person who had been suppressing his feelings over logic. And I projected this suppression onto others. I shunned people who weren’t bearing the same brunt that I’ve endured to keep my emotions down. I wrongfully believed emotions were weaknesses. I’ve looked down on “stupid” people because I was trying so hard not to be one.

Knowledge doesn’t define us. It’s simply a means for what we want. While I used it to isolate myself, you use it to connect. Information is to food as logic is to cooking, you’re the master chef offering your talents for people to get together and enjoy. I’m the pretentious Yelper giving you 5 stars and a Like. And I gotta be honest — I feel I’ve gotten unfairly way more out of you than you have out of me. You’ve never asked for credit, but I’ll always feel indebted to you. It’s not enough for me to acknowledge what you do. I guess you could trade your thoughts for my opinions.

I hate to say that this is all I got to give back. But I’ll definitely act on it. After all, feelings are like theories. They’re not real unless we materialize them out. You know that. Your feelings have always stood by your logic, wherever they came from. Many times they’re the reasons why you get deep in your head, why you’re willing to get out of your comfort zone, or why you get these bursts of flow state solving problems. You care for the good of your community. There really is a rose tinted bias in you. It really is the thought that counts. You recognize and solve the questions we should be asking ourselves to live in a better world.

In these moments you become the most genuine and sincere out of all the types. Unriddling the mysteries of the universe and discovering how we’re all connected speaks for who you really are: a human being who’s trying their best with what they know and understand about being kind with one another. Because of that, I’m inspired to be who I really am and to live as genuinely and sincerely as I can. To not hide under the truth but to stand proudly on top of it. I’ll live out my self belief as someone who will leave this world a little better than he found it. Thanks to you, we can make this true. Uma. I didn't like Audrey from the start, the fake laughing and snooty attitude immediately set me on edge. Also, I'll never forgive her for straight up just dismissing Evie for no reason. I personally believe they could've gone a different way with Audrey's storyline, they could've made sure to really focus on the family pressure aspect of it and because of all of that pressure she turned evil 🤷‍♂️ I don't think they gave Evil!Audrey the nuance it deserved. The real villain is Queen Leah. I also low-key think it could've been Jane that went evil. I will say one thing though, I do like Audrey's d3 aesthetic and parts of her behaviour make sense (even if I don't agree with them) and her "what are you going to do?marry them" line did crack me up, so she gets points for that I guess. Don't attack me, I'm sorry!

But anyway. I like Uma, she's strong, determined, fricking adorable (that little twirl in d3 🥺), compassionate, strong. Uma has a good heart and again it corms down to her snark and sass. This is why I love Mal, Uma and Evie because they're all so snarky but in different ways. Uma in d3 was just 👌 she cracked me up constantly and just "how can anyone with this bed be unhappy"

Okay, as separate characters away from any descendants ties, I would say Maleficent. I really like Maleficent as both a villain and in her live-action movies - which are both underrated and I personally think they're absolutely fantastic. However, in the case of descendants I'll go for Hades, simply because he at least seemed to care about Mal and I firmly belive that Maleficent never did and never will.

I also have thoughts on an au scenario that @strivia and I were discussing about Mal trying to run away from Maleficent and Hades basically adopting and raising Mal. And then when Mal talks about her friends and their terrible parents; Hades basically starts adopting all the rotten four and others and it becomes a Hades daycare centre 😂 where he has to wrangle all fo these like 4-7 year olds which is an incredibly amusing image to think of. Like Hades with Mal sat on his shoulders, Jay swinging on one arm, Evie cradled in one arm (because she's the most chill in comparison) and Carlos wrapped around one of Hades' legs. You have all been blessed with this image, your welcome.

😭 Y'all are evil. I really love them both, and as you guys can gather by now I'm really into them both in the rotten ot4 as well. Aaaaaarghhhh, maybe if I keep screaming I can avoid the answer. I was into Malvie right from their opening scene and I am a sucker for the "grumpy one being soft for their person". I relate more to Mal and Evie’s relationship. The nuzzle Mal does when they hug 🥺 and how much they support one another, the anthem of all anthems, "not even close" like mhmm I see you Miss Evie 👀 and how soft Mal is for Evie...did I say soft - I meant whipped.

This question is rudeeeeeeeeeee. I love Jaylos. The height difference 👌 My boys are so precious and the softest of dorks. Carlos leaping into Jay's arms, Jay being protective over Carlos, the wrestling, the soft looks at coronation and "I'd miss you most" I love them so very much. I can have the best of both worlds with the rotten ot4 so 😉 this question nearly destroyed me, and I low-key didn't actually answer. Just wait until I get to Sparrow's questions 💀

Ben. I don't like Jane in D1 at all. I like her in D3 and I do kind of like her in D2 but I never formed a huge attachment to Jane, like I did for Lonnie.

Ben 🥺 he tries his best. I think Ben is sweet and he cares so much, even when he doesn't always make the wisest of choices. Ben is so innocent and he's such a dork like the "yeah, mum won't let him on the couch" and roaring as he jumps in the lake. Ben's under a lot of pressure too and I like to write him letting loose and doing things he probably wasn't allowed to do when they were forcing him to be King at 16 😑 also it amuses me greatly that Ben falls in love with every VK he meets, that's canon I don't make the rules. So, Ben!

💀💀💀💀 I hate both of them so much. Doug is creepy and a stalker and just YUCK. Chad is such trash, more so in the first movie because he's just so nasty. I'm so confused as to how Cinderella raised him. But, because his scenes in D2 didn't make me want to poke my eyes out, I'll go with Chad.

Warning: Not Chad friendly

Part of the reason I dislike Chad Charming is that I feel he has a huge grudge on Ben. And I think a part of that grudge is him being upset with Ben not patching things up with Audrey, in fact I kinda feel that’s what he is saying when he yells “yeah, especially for you!!!” at him in D3.

And while I understand that was not exactly Ben’s best moment, of all the people in the series, *Chad Charming* is not in any kind of position to call him out. Chad literally led on Evie and set her up to take a fall *with malicious intent* and it is stated in School of Secrets that he was dating *11 girls at the same time*.

Sorry, but this guy is just a huge hypocritical douche for hating Ben for something he did *under a spell* that he himself did on purpose.

If anyone’s interested, I could actually make a whole post about the issues I find with his character, that don’t just end at the surface ones the movies make clear (surface issues being him being a player, being a cheat, him literally being a misogynistic pig etc).

So, I've always had ideas for the Auradon kids. Cause when people do stories on Descendants it's always about the VKs.

Let's start bitches.

AKs are tightly knit, they grew up together and know that they’re stronger with each other (the magic of friendship bitches). While a lot of AKs understand that the VKs do not deserve the shit they have been given, that doesn't mean they're not going to be wary of strangers; they've read their parent's stories, they know how shit works.

Every fairytale kid has what they call “leftovers”, kids behind the barriers have it too but the barrier blocks it out. The leftovers can be something as big as leftover magic from if their parents were spelled, or something small like being allergic to apples after your mother got poisoned by one.

Some stuff with the adults-

FG taught her daughter how to use her magic, instead of having her ignore it

Alice Liddell met Christopher Robin when they were both children in England. They were the only ones who believed each other about Wonderland and the Hundred Acre Woods

When Alice went back to Wonderland her adulthood Christopher was the only one who believed her, then during her fight with Time he helped her escape the asylum

Beast sent the Enchantress to the Isle of the Lost (cause he's a dick and no one knows, she just disappeared one day like she is known to do)

Belle fully supports Ben proclamation and will have fights with Beast over the Isle

Aurora and Phillip raise their daughter, Leah tries cause she didn't get the chance to raise Aurora, but they and Stefan call her out on her hypocrisy

Snow White didn't get with the Prince, she found it weird that a man she never even had a conversation with thought he had the right to kiss her, even if she thought he was cute

Now onto the kids-

Billie “Jabberwocky” Robin & Ally “Bandersnatch” Robin (Twins of Alice Kingsley and Christoper Robin)
