Completely agreed. There’s a section of the fandom that for whatever reason feel like they need to police how Charlie, and also Owen, interact with fans and think Charlie and Owen need to set the boundaries these fans think they should have. Owen and Charlie are grown ass men perfectly capable of setting whatever boundaries they need when they feel like they need them. They’re both new to fame and learning as they go. They’ll figure out the perfect balance that works for them eventually. 1 of 2

Yeah it’s amazing how all of the anti Lalex and anti Chowen shippers are the only ones with the valid opinions and “knowledge” in all of this (I’m generalizing to be bitchy but you get it)

But YESSSSS. I keep seeing shit like “we need to teach him this isn’t okay” or “we need to educate him” or “we need to hold him responsible”.... like... that’s not your place. So you wanna make these long rants directly TO Charlie to educate him—you wanna TALK to him??? What makes your supposed “chat” with him any more valid or wanted than these girls who chatted with him for a few minutes?

The same people who say to give Charlie space are the ones who are like “no baby let me hold your hand an teach you”. Charlie is a real person. He’s a real adult. He can make his own choices in his personal and professional life.

Charlie is no one’s responsibility.
