Saw a post of an anti saying that they are leaving AO3, as they are too uncomfortable to post their fics there now. The reason? They found out one of their long time readers was a proshipper, despite their fics having proship dni. And how "that includes silent readers too, I don't want you all looking at my content."
My brother in christ, you are posting on the fiction freedom site. The proshipping site. Dnis aren't god damn restraining orders. They are one tool in helping you display your boundaries. It's still on you to enforce your boundaries. You post something publicly, you forfeit your ability to regulate who can view your work. If you're obsessive enough, you can regulate who actually interacts with your work by stalking each person in the kudos list, comments, or bookmarks and then blocking snyone you don't like, but you do not get a say on who may silently read your posts. Not unless you private your work and only show it to specific people.
And if you don’t want proshippers to interact, get off the profic site.

"This person is a pedophile, (read: child predator) I have proof!!"
"Okay, and this proof is?"
"They're proship and like gore and non-con!!!"
Tell me you don't actually care about protecting kids without telling me you don't actually care about protecting kids. Undermining a term like child predator or groomer is how you get actual child predators worming their way into the community because the term has been watered down.

If you ever think the radqueer community is wrong by despising "survivors of the radqueer community", just think of Oli London.
He labeled himself as queer and was transrace. Now he hates queer people and trace people, says they're all the same mob of horribleness, and thrashes trans people because he's now christian and doesn't identify with those "beliefs".
Do you really think he was right? If yes, you're just a bigot, congratulations, but if not, where do you draw the line? At hating "actual queer people"? At hating "an actual minority"? Because I've never seen a non-queer radqueer. I've never seen a radqueer who's never been oppressed in any way. And with the amount of hate we've gotten, you can bet (and I know it's true) that a lot of antis are bigoted. I've seen antis be so straight up ableist while "fighting against ableism", I've seen them call radqueers the r slur and say horrible shit. And you can't say that's not a majority, I've never seen an anti who isn't conservative-coded and doesn't spew bigoted bullshit.
Because the nature of antis is segregation between binaries that don't exist as a binary. Disabled vs abled is not a binary, yet I've seen antis say that people can never become disabled, which is just stupid. As a white latino, POC vs white is not a binary I fall into, yet they really want to separate those and say people can never ever identify as something other than what they're born and perceived as.
They want to separate them because it's less confusing and less problematic. They want to maintain the status quo of never letting minorities become privileged as an identity (e.g. transwhiteness and nullabledness), and of never letting privileged people identify with minorities. Privilege or minority status will likely never leave us and we're not saying it will, but muddying the waters will never be something less than good. Because that only empowers.
In my humble opinion, saying disability and other minority status is desirable and inherently neutral or good, is not harmful. Because the other option is saying disability and other minority status is inherently undesirable regardless of how the disabled person or minority feels about it.
Anyway. I have said this multiple times, but having a distinct line between privilege status and minority status that no one can cross is not a good thing and will never be.

oh, i figure since i'm back and i noticed my follower count went up while i was away (probably due to old miraculous art 😂), lemme make a few things clear!
Tumblr media
this blog is ship and let ship!
i don't ship anything too weird or problematic, but i also don't care what anyone else is shipping! i will block and mute things that bother me, but i'm not going to vet the ppl i reblog from, so pls don't send asks informing me of ppl i reblog from being into The Bad Ships. i rly do not care 😂
(on there other hand, if someone has done something actually horrible to an actual real living breathing person, pls reach out! i don't want to support ppl who harm others 🥲)
re: proship & antiship
if you are the type to have a "proship dni" rule, you might be more comfortable blocking me! i hella don't claim the label (and again, mostly ship vanilla stuff, so i likely won't be posting anything offensive), but i cannot stress enough how much i don't care what other ppl are doing with fiction. i know this is important to some ppl, tho, so do what makes you comfy!
(but again, if ppl i rb from have done something awful to a real person, pls lemme know.)
other stuff
- I'm pro choice; cis and trans ppl have the right to do whatever they want with their own bodies. if that doesn't vibe with you, it'd be good to block me.
- LGBTQIA+ stands together; if you're an exclusionary, i beg you to block me. trans & intersex ppl having basic human rights is not up for debate.
- if i ever say some dumb, ignorant, or tactless shit, pls feel free to reach out and correct me. i am very chill and am always open to discussing and learning to be better. and like anyone, the day i stop learning is the day i die lol. otherwise, once again feel free to block me if i really upset you! it's not ur job to teach me if u don't want to! (but fwiw 99.9% of the time, whatever i say is not intended to upset anyone, i'm just occasionally a tactless dumbass lol.)

so it turns out. . . someone we cared about who was absolutely disgusted at us for being a proshipper not only may be a proshipper themselves, but also stalked one of our proship twitter accounts?
Antis are a cult. I'm sorry you felt like you had to treat me that way to not be harassed yourself. I'm sorry for everything and I hope you know I would welcome you with open arms if you ever wanted to talk again.
(Bun says all this but honestly, I don't even know if they know about this tumblr.)

Antis are literal paracites. They can and will go through hoops invade private spaces designed to be a confidential safe place to discuss datk fiction. Just to gather names and screenshots, chats that were intended to be private and self contained, and put them on blast. Exposing conversations that were held between consenting parties to hundreds of people, with the intention to shock and disgust those who are uncomfortable with those topics. Milking the public outrage. And then see themselves as heroes for it.
There's just so many things wrong with it on a moral level. The breaching of privacy, the breaking of trust, the hazardous exposure of triggering subjects to a sensitive crowd, the bastardization of the just process via vigilantism, the usage of cruel and unusual punishment by giving the general public the tools needed to send threats and harassment, the intimidation and silencing of their victim with guilty until proven innocent, and so on.

"proshit" is what antis mockingly call ALL proshippers, regardless of their stance on real life things. it's just their way to show their hostility
Aha, I see! Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
I also got a message from OP telling me it was a typo.
Honestly I kinda like the term proshit. “What do you stand for?” “Eh; you know. Some shit.”
It’s delightfully vague which is very on point for the whole pro/anti debacle, which seems to be entirely consisted of moving goalposts on what, exactly, is being debated
Well, I’ve reblogged it now, so I shan’t delete it, but I’ll avoid things with ‘proshit dni’ in the future! Thanks again, y’all!

ai generated images make me increasingly sad and tired the more i see them in more and more casual contexts. i dont know how to explain, but it just fills the world with a bunch of nothing. no matter how visually stunning the pictures might be, there's nothing behind it for me. no dedication, no emotions, no feelings, no hard work or creativity, nothing i can truly think about, admire or enjoy. i dont think thats how art is supposed to be

I hope this isn't a hot take because I'm honestly tired of the antis that interact with me.
Accepting that people want to be more mentally ill and giving them a space to talk about it safely isn't predatory or leading them to mental illness.
An anti (a very condescending one at that) tried to argue that my stance on the anti community not wanting mental illness to be normalized (which I meant in a different way than interpreted, will expand on that later) is somehow the radqueer community grooming people into being more ill.
That's a falacy by itself. Normalizing something doesn't cause the thing to be more occurrent or more severe. That's actually a conservative talking point, that by normalizing things like queerness and social "abnormality", it will become a slippery slope where everyone ends up gay or "abnormal". Now, I do understand that this is a weak link. That person doesn't mean that normalizing mental illness will cause people to want to be mentally ill more...- wait.
Their point is that we are normalizing people wanting to be mentally ill and making them transition. Isn't that... Familiar?
Anyway. I didn't even mean it like that, but it is an interesting point. I meant by normalizing mental illness, that we should normalize paraphiles and other more obscure things commonly found close to mental illness (I'm not a medparaphilie by any means) and let those be common in society, so that people can get, you know, help.
I don't mean normalizing sexual abuse, which somehow this person took for granted.
I'm not even all for transmentalillness to be always meant towards a transition goal. I'm not for that for any transid. But allowing people to safely talk about their transition goals is not predatory, I don't know how it could be.
Well. That's all. I appreciate the reblog, dear anti, but I'm not impressed. Try harder next time.

As much as i hate JKR i will not tolerate any slander or hatred aimed towards the kids that get casted in the Harry Potter reboot.
If they get accurate aged kids then they’re gonna be between 10-12/13 years old to represent year 7’s (11-12.) Chances are they’re child actors aiming for a big break which shouldn’t be biased on who they author of the books are or they are being pushed by their parents which is something that happens more often than not.
I refuse. point blank refuse to fuckin ‘cancel’ any kids casted. They are children and they deserve a chance.
I won’t be watching it. But i will not obliterate a child’s chances to succeed based on a woman’s shitty view of human beings

Hi guys! Here’s some advice from a cane user on how to spot a fake cane user/disability faker!
YOU CANT
You can not spot a “fake disabled” cane user. You can not know if someone’s “really disabled”, much less by just looking at them. Here are some common misconceptions.
“Cane users always need their canes. If they walk without it or put it away when it’s inconvenient, they’re faking”: WRONG! Many cane users are what we call “ambulatory” cane users. This means they don’t always need their canes to walk. I’m an ambulatory cane user, and I experience really horrible leg pain on the daily. However, I don’t always use my cane, and when I don’t need to walk or stand a lot in a certain place I don’t use it. And when I do use it, I may lift it off the ground or carry it in places that are sandy, gravelly, or otherwise hinder my cane.
“Cane users walk abnormally without their canes, someone who walks normally without their cane is faking”: WRONG! Many ambulatory cane users can walk in a way that seems “normal”. This doesn’t mean they’re not in pain, or not “really disabled”. This just means that their condition doesn’t cause a noticeable difference in walking, and likely manifests in a different way.
“Cane users always need their cane, someone who doesn’t use their cane at home is faking”: WRONG! Cane users may not use their canes at home, because at home they may be able to do things like sit down wherever and whenever, regain more spoons, and use other mobility aids. Additionally, some ambulatory cane users only need or use their canes when they are doing something physically taxing, like going on a hike or standing in a long line.
“My cane user friend told me this person looks like they’re faking, so it must be true”: WRONG! Being a cane user doesn’t immediately make you an expert on all different conditions and experiences. Your friend does not know the random cane user walking down the street, they are going off looks and stereotypes. Disabled people are not immune to being ableist.
“They enjoy their cane too much/they’re too happy/they decorate their cane, so they can’t actually be in enough pain to need a cane” WRONG! We’re people like everyone else, and we experience positive emotions too, even if we go through a lot of pain. To me, customizing my cane is like getting a tattoo or putting streaks in my hair, it’s a way of self expression. And we deserve to be able to talk openly about our full experience, which include the parts we’re neutral or happy about.
“They’re one of those cringey teenagers who name themselves arson and like dsmp, so they’re probably faking” WRONG! Do I even have to explain why saying someone isn’t disabled because of their name and interests is messed up and also stupid? Or did you already know that and just wanted to make fun of a disabled teenager?
“They’re too young to be using a cane, so they must be faking” WRONG! there are lots of disabilities or injuries that can cause young people to need a mobility aid. For example, I use a cane for my fibromyalgia.
“They only use it in private places, and never in places where people recognize them, so they must be faking” WRONG! In a world where anyone can just randomly take out their phone, take a picture of a cane user, and post them online to be made fun of, it can be stressful to use a cane in public areas. Also, they may not want people to ask questions, or they may feel embarrassed about it.
“I saw them switch hands, so they must be faking” WRONG! There are different reasons a cane used might do this, but I’m going to use my experience as an example. My fibromyalgia is not consistent. Sometimes one leg hurts more then the other. But as I said, fibromyalgia is inconsistent, and sometimes my other leg will start to hurt more or need more support, which is when I switch hands. And when both my legs hurt equally, I may switch my hand if it’s getting too sore.
“They told me they feel like they’re faking when they use their cane, doesn’t that mean they don’t really need it?” WRONG! Imposter syndrome is strong in a lot of disabled people, especially when for a lot of our lives we were told by doctors that we were fine and just being dramatic. Anxiety is also comorbid with a lot of physically disabilities, which only strengthens this. To add to this, something that I’ve felt and seen other disabled people talk about it, when their disability aid lessens the pain, they start thinking “well I’m not in that much pain so I don’t really need it” even though the reason they’re not in that much pain is because of the aid. I know it seems dumb, but imposter syndrome can be that strong and affects disabled people a lot.
“They don’t have a diagnosis, so they must be faking” WRONG! First of all, diagnoses are expensive. On their own they’re often already expensive, but counting the tons of tests you have to take to confirm the diagnosis? Absolutely ludicrous. Some may also choose not to get a diagnosis, so that they don’t have to deal with the prejudice and setbacks of being diagnosed. Also, some people use a cane for injuries, and for stress or fatigue related pains.
These are only a few of the things I commonly hear from fakeclaimers, and I wanted to just put out a reminder that fakeclaiming hurts the disabled community much, much more than it does ableists. Next time you see someone with a cane switch hands, or someone with a wheelchair stand up, or someone with crutches put them down, before you immediately call them out to a friend, take a picture, or write a post: does your fakeclaim rely on stereotypes? Are your reasons things that apply to ambulatory aid users?
If so, just stop. Be mindful. Please.
