Red-Tagging the Gospel by Derek Duncan | published on Jun 10, 2021 Area Executive for East Asia and the Pacific
In my neighborhood, several small public kiosks have been erected in recent years with names like “Little Free Pantry” or “Blessing Boxes.” One near me is shaped like a miniature, red house. People place books, food, or personal hygiene items in these cabinets to share, and take items as needed. The need has clearly increased this past year.
Churches that install these kiosks are drawing on a long religious tradition of meeting the basic needs of their community. The ancient Hebrew practice of gleaning obliged farmers to leave a portion of their crops “for the poor and for the alien” (Leviticus 23:22). Many local churches support food pantries, Agape meal programs, and community gardens to address hunger and food insecurity in their community.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, poverty and hunger have increased around the world. In the Philippines there has been a proliferation of free community pantries to help people make ends meet. Churches like the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) have supported community pantries and delivered food aid to isolated families during these difficult times.
The Government of the Philippines has been hostile to churches and community groups that serve the poor—even through food pantries. Authorities use a tactic called “red-tagging” to label activists and advocates for the poor as communists, in an attempt to justify legal action and violence against them. Ana Patricia Non started the Maginhawa Community Pantry in Quezon City, but had to suspend distribution after police showed up calling the organizers communists and taking names of donors and recipients. A spokesman of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict said Non was acting “like Satan” and admitted doing background checks on pantry organizers. “Red-tagging is no joke, especially during these times,” Non told the news outlet Inquirer, noting the risk that came with the allegation.
An international review of human rights abuses in the Philippines, called InvestigatePH, concluded red-tagging is used to suppress dissent and intimidate critics of President Duterte’s harsh policies. In a report to the UN Human Rights Council, InvestigatePH details numerous cases that illustrate how red-tagging “provides cover, justification, and support to police and military operations to target and dismantle civil society organizations through intimidation, threats and harassing surveillance; raids and unjust arrests; enforced disappearances; and extrajudicial killings” (First Report, p. 36).
One notable case concerns the HARAN Center of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) in Davao City, which has been a sanctuary for Lumad indigenous tribes whose land has been forcefully taken for mining and agri-business interests. When the UCCP drew international attention to the plight of the Lumad, the government in March accused the center of financing terrorism and teaching “communist ideals.”
Other UCCP leaders have been red-tagged in an attempt to discredit the work of the UCCP with the poor. On Sunday, May 2, police arrested UCCP Pastor Daniel Balucio, an ecumenical disaster response coordinator in the Albay province. The senior pastor was charged was illegal possession of firearms and explosives. Claiming this is another case of planting evidence, legal defenders have demanded his release. In a Pastoral Statement on the Continuing Persecution and Harassment of Church Servants, UCCP leadership declared their commitment to “the mission imperative that the Church sides and journeys with the poor and the downtrodden, the way Lord Jesus Christ lived his lifetime and ministry.” Whether in little or big ways, the imperative for the Church to serve the poor is Gospel. No matter what color you tag it with.

The openness of Filipino Christians to struggle for national liberation, as shown by the Filipino Catholic clergy who joined the revolution against Spanish colonialism, and even to Marxism . . . had led US imperialism to continue commissioning the CIA to persist in utilizing the Christian religion to hide the exploitation and oppression of US imperialism in the Philippines. For instance, the CIA initiated the entry of Christian “socialism,” which became the ideological foundation of the Christian Social Movement (CSM) headed by Manglapus and Manahan among pro-US imperialist politicians to counter Filipino nationalist politicians, led by the late Senator Claro M. Recto. Senator C. M. Recto was a staunch anti-US imperialist critic and was believed to have been a victim of the CIA, as he died mysteriously of heart attack, though he had no known heart ailment, in Rome, Italy after an appointment with two Caucasians in business suits in 1958. During the 1960s to the 1970s, the CIA established the Campus Crusaders for Christ (CCC) in various universities and colleges throughout the Philippines; the New Tribes Mission (NTM) stations and the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL) centers were formed by the CIA in the mountainous areas of the national minorities throughout the Philippines. And since the 1980s up to the present period, all sorts of CIA-backed charismatic congregations, the Dating Daan of Eli Soriano, the Sonship Kingdom of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy (a megalomaniac and self-appointed Son of God in Davao and a friend of tyrant Duterte; has expropriated Lumad lands; owns Son Shine Radio with 16 transmitters stationed strategically throughout the country, fully supports tyrant Duterte’s Build, Build, Build projects; and actively participates in the surrender campaign of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict or NTF-ELCAC), “praise the Lord” groups, “Christ to the Orient” and “free believers” have proliferated. And usually, the use of the Bible and Christianity for the CIA-backed evangelists is to attack the mainline Christian Churches that adhere to human rights in Philippine society.

Marco Valbuena | Chief Information Officer | Communist Party Of The Philippines | November 28, 2023
The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) welcomes the signing of the Oslo Joint Statement last November 23 in Oslo, Norway, by the Negotiating Panel of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), and official envoys of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP). The joint statement is a declaration of intent to create conditions and set the framework for holding peace negotiations.
The Party and the New People’s Army (NPA) extend all-out support to the Negotiating Panel of the NDFP chaired by Juliet de Lima, and its esteemed members, Louie Jalandoni, Coni Ledesma and Asterio Palima, and express full confidence in their representation of the broad democratic interests of the Filipino people.
The Oslo Joint Statement is a first half-step in the long march leading to the resumption of formal peace negotiations, and in the even longer road of achieving the people’s aspiration for a just and lasting peace.
In his blood-lust, former GRP President Duterte threw ten thousand thorns and spikes at the road of peace and rendered it impassable. With the mistaken notion that the armed revolution can be crushed through sheer armed might, Duterte unleashed his war of state terrorism marked by abductions, torture, murder and massacres.
Duterte’s war was gross and bloody, but it was also an utter failure. Such failure is implicitly recognized by the fact that panels of the GRP and NDFP are now set to face each other across the table of peace negotiations.
There are peace talks because there is war. The NDFP and GRP are co-belligerents in the civil war in the Philippines. They are adversaries and represent diametrically opposed interests and objectives, but who come to the table under the declared aim of achieving a just and lasting peace.
To clear the road for peace negotiations, it is the distinct responsibility of Marcos to take the initiative to sweep away the Duterte-period thorns and spikes which litter it.
To allow the NDFP-GRP peace negotiations to move forward, Marcos must: (a) release all the NDFP peace consultants to allow them to take part in the discussions and negotiations; (b) rescind the “terrorist designation” of the NDFP, and that of Ka Luis Jalandoni, the CPP, the NPA and other personnel of the NDFP. These are critical and practical measures, without which, it is doubtful that peace negotiations can even proceed.
For the march towards peace to move forward quickly, Marcos can also withdraw the Duterte-issued Executive Order No 70 and Memorandum Order No 32, dismantle the National Task Force (NTF)-ELCAC, cause the repeal of the draconian Anti-Terror Law, order the AFP to withdraw armed soldiers conducting “localized peace negotiations” and “community support” which merely disguise the bloody suppression of peasant barangays active in defense of their land and democratic rights, and order a stop to Gaza-like aerial bombing and artillery shelling of farms and fields in the countryside.
To create conditions conducive to peace, Marcos can order the release of more than 800 political prisoners. Many of them are old and sick, and have already suffered enough undue punishment and prolonged detention as a result of multiple criminal charges in violation of the Hernandez Doctrine. A number of the political prisoners are nursing mothers who must be immediately released together with their infants.
There should be an accounting of all violations of the Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees (JASIG) in the killing and imprisonment of NDFP peace consultants.
The GRP represents the interests of the big bourgeois compradors (the so-called oligarchs and tycoons who hold vast business interests), the big landlords, the bureaucrat capitalists, who all find congruence with the economic interests and geopolitical aims of the US imperialists.
The NDFP represents the people’s democratic government and the aspirations of the oppressed and exploited classes and sectors comprising the Filipino people, including workers, peasants, fisher folk, the toiling masses, national minorities, migrant workers, youth, health workers, teachers, ordinary employees, lawyers, artists and cultural workers, women, gender minorities, and others.
It has been proven in the past that while the NDFP and the GRP represent two diametrically opposed economic interests and political aims, and continue to engage in a shooting war in the battlefield, they can forge agreements such as The Hague Declaration, the JASIG, and the Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL).
These agreements must be reaffirmed and serve as foundations for future agreements on socioeconomic reforms, as well as political and constitutional reforms.
The signing of the Oslo Joint Statement come at a time of intensifying economic and political crisis. Worsening conditions facing the Filipino people compel them to wage mass struggles to push forward their urgent demands for substantial wage increases, lower prices, reduction of land rent, lower costs of agricultural input, and so on.
The corruption, anti-people and anti-democratic policies and programs of the US-Marcos regime are causing widespread poverty and hunger, economic dispossession and dislocation. Marcos continues to unleash state terrorist violence to silence the people and suppress their grievances and resistance. In full subservience to his imperialist master, Marcos have paved the way for the US military to use the Philippines as forward base for encircling China, and the AFP as pawns in its aggressive military operations in the South China Sea.
The Filipino people have no other recourse but to continue intensifying their mass struggles and revolutionary armed struggle to defend their livelihood, their rights and the people’s national freedom, and isolate and fight the puppet, fascist and oppressive Marcos regime.

Great news, as of today Devientart has made it that Deviations automatically opt out for the Ai thing thanks to the back lash from it originally being that it was originally automatically opt in
This is true, I think the is the fastest I've seen any big org backpedal on a bad choice. Should have been that way from the beginning if you ask me. Idk who they think their userbase is now.
Ironically, if their newest assurances are true (not only do you opt out of DreamUp, but supposedly their internal tagging prevents 3rd-party scrapers from stealing your stuff as well) DA might have become the safest place to host art again, in addition to their existing anti-NTF-scraping programming.
I'm still hella upset, as I'm sure many are, and am still considering alternatives. I don't appreciate being jerked around by a site I've come to... well, not trust but rely on for hosting. DA has been gradually declining in quality for ages now, though, so it may just be time to move on anyway. I don't want to blame it all on the Eclipse graphical switch but it sure coincided with the worst of it imo...

Rise and Fall: Decay of the Ruling Class
Fascism is a system of government indicated by far-right politics, absolute leadership, and forceful and violent suppression of criticism. It is often attributed to dictatorial regimes in their final stages of clinging to power. However, the truth behind fascism is the ever-going existence of class contradiction and private property.
It does not simply arise from nowhere, but from the sharpening struggle between the ruling elite who seek to maintain the status quo from which they amass wealth and power, and the masses who seek freedom from a system rife with inequalities and abuse. Fascism is a “need” perceived by those who own in order to defend what they have from those seeking the just distribution of those ownerships.
In the Philippine context, fascism came to be during the period of Spanish colonization. Spanish inquisitors and the friars and local landlords who connived with them used the “sword” – violence perpetrated by the guwardiya sibil – when the common peasant folk rose against land-grabbing and the harsh working conditions in the haciendas, and eventually formed the Kataastaasan Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan or the KKK.
American and Japanese colonizers also used fascism to crush the swelling nationalist movements which strived for national independence and freedom from colonial rule. They mobilized their troops and conspirators to destroy the democratic struggle of the Filipino people, and crush the Hukbo Laban sa Hapon (HUKBALAHAP), respectively.
Then, Ferdinand Marcos showed the most brazen display of fascism which made the Filipino people acutely aware of the concept of fascism. Thousands fell victim to forced disappearances, torture, intimidation, and harassment among other more gruesome things for fighting against anti-people policies and the worsening economic crisis brought by his term.
Presidents who succeeded his overthrow fared no better. Though they used a more roundabout approach, fascism continued through different faces. From Cory Aquino’s policy of “low intensity conflict” to Rodrigo Duterte’s EO70 which birth the NTF-ELCAC, thousands of workers, peasants, youth, women, national minorities, church folk, artists, and even lawyers who struggled for pro-people policies, democratic rights, economic benefits, government services, and ultimately foreign independence remined at the brunt end of fascism.
The pattern of using the armed machinery of the state against the critical masses, is a trend present in all stages of our country’s development. From colonization to Marcos’ dictatorship to the re-election of Marcos Jr. to office, fascism remains the policy of the ruling class. But the same can be said of revolution for the critical masses.
This show is the collaborative work of three artists which aims to show said pattern: a walk through the historical development of fascism by Tamer Karam, an exposition into the inner workings of fascism by Ian Marinda, and look into the solution to uproot the core of fascism by Jonas Camposagrado. The Philippine Labor Archive will also show how workers were at the forefront of the fight against fascism throughout history.

Read Before You Do Anything Else
I’m Rin. I’m a disability rights activist and AI artist. This is a sideblog for me to post my art. Pro tech, anti techbro. Yes, we exist.
Q&A:
-What are your pronouns? -He/him
-How old are you? -Older than you.
-Is Rin your real name? -Mind your business.
-What tools do you use? -I use Simple Stable’s anime models, Gimp, and Medibang through multiple iterations to get what I’m looking for. Most of my art is a combination of hand drawn and diffused. Lately I’ve been trying to fight my way through Bing Dall-e 3′s censors with moderate success.
-Why do you use AI? -Two main reasons. One, I’m disabled, holding a pen or brush for long periods of time causes severe wrist pain and I don’t believe disabled people should have to suffer to have our thoughts and ideas be worthy of consideration. Two, my two main styles are anime and surrealism, two things that diffusion models do very very well. Thus I’m working with a medium that is particularly suited to the work I want to make.
-“AI art is theft!“ or any question about ethics -I’m not here to answer questions I’m here to draw anime. AI is not the real-time collage machine you think it is, this is a recording, go bother someone else.
-Are you making NTFs? -Let me answer that question with a question: do you want me to kick your ass? (No, I’m not, NFTs and the people who make them deserve to be shot into the sun)
-“You shouldn’t say cripple” -I am crippled and I’ll damn well say so as much as I want.
-What are your disabilities? -According to my doctors, they are none of your business.
-Why isn’t your ask box open? Because of people like that.
-What fandoms do you draw for? Whatever I feel like.
-Do you take requests? Nope
-Do you take commissions? Eh, maybe?
-Who’s the boy in your avatar? -That’s one of my OCs, Hayari.
-Tell me about your OCs -I might make a page for them eventually
-Tell me your prompts -No. Even if I did write them down or remember them I wouldn’t. Draw your own stuff.
-How do you get such clear images? -Waifu2x denoiser
-Can I repost your work/use it for a header or icon/use it to train my own AI? -Usually my answer is no. I can’t stop my work from being scraped nor do I particularly mind that, but I don’t want it to be used in prompts or in img2img unless I explicitly give you permission and you’re free to choose how much of an obstinate hobgoblin you want to be about that.
-That makes you a hypocrite -Perhaps it does.
-Can I make fanart of your characters? -Only if I know you or specifically commission you.
-What’s your main? -Nice try.

Bestaan er veilige (D)EXchanges? ByBit en APEX
Tumblr media
Your Keys, Your Coins' Jouw sleutels, jouw munten, jouw activa. On CIA’s Intense Religious Efforts to Combat the “Christian Left” in the Philippines
Tumblr media
Excerpted from "A Commentary on the Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church" by Christians for National Liberation (in the Philippines)
More on the cultural field, the CIA and its conduits have used and continue to employ the Christian religion to disrupt and distort the progressive aspect of Christianity and the victory of the Filipino people against Spanish colonialism that made use of Catholicism in order to subjugate the Philippines for more than 300 years. It can even be construed that the CIA backed up financially the Iglesia ni Kristo (INK), founded by Felix Y. Manalo in 1914, which attracted a significant membership and started to build big I.N.K. churches after World War II. The CIA could have done this covertly in order to make the I.N.K. the Filipino opposite church of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI), founded on August 3, 1902 by Filipino Katipunan revolutionary priest Gregorio Labayan Aglipay with Union Obrera Democratica (UOD) labor leader Isabelo de los Reyes, Sr., popularly known as Don Belong. In fact, the US imperialists were very much displeased when they came to know that Obispo Maximo or Supreme Bishop Aglipay secretly gave support when the Socialist and Communist Parties of the Philippines merged in 1938 and when he expressed interest and enthusiasm in the universal theory of Marxism-Leninism after he read Marxist classics in Spanish sent by his friend, James S. Allen of the Communist Party US, as the bishop said in 1939:
The first one I read has already confirmed me in my convictions about communism and that the salvation of mankind lies only in its hands. I have always declared that we must concentrate all our efforts in making this a better world, without wasting anything in vain delusions about what lies beyond this life. And it gives me a thrill discovering that Lenin, Marx, Stalin and all the friends of the Proletariat are one with me in this.
The openness of Filipino Christians to struggle for national liberation, as shown by the Filipino Catholic clergy who joined the revolution against Spanish colonialism, and even to Marxism as manifested by Bishop Aglipay in his statement mentioned above, had led US imperialism to continue commissioning the CIA to persist in utilizing the Christian religion to hide the exploitation and oppression of US imperialism in the Philippines.
Currently in this 3rd millennium of Christianity, the newest “church,” that may have been introduced by the CIA in the Philippines, is the “Christ the Way of Salvation: Divine Covenant International Church.” It projects itself as a global church and claims to have many congregations of worshipers in the US, Spain, the Philippines, and other countries. Based on the findings of the CNL research team, this newest “international Church” has worshipping centers in various places in the Philippines such as in Manabo and Pilar, Abra; Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte; Rosales, Pangasinan; Romblon; and other areas of the country. This “International church” sees itself as very different from the mainline Christian Churches (RC, UCCP, IFI, UMC, ECP, LCP), though almost all its members come from the mainline Christian Churches.
Some may question the veracity if the “Christ the Way of Salvation: Divine Covenant International Church” is, indeed, a CIA-created and -inspired one. For one thing, the CIA makes use of various international fronts and conduits to conceal its mission to maintain US imperialist global hegemony. But one may conclude that it may have been established by the CIA: first, when such a Christian church is “international” in scope and is very well-funded; second, though biblically based, a so-called “International Church” limits itself to only a few New Testament passages and does not mention the prophets of the Old Testament and the various denunciations by Jesus Christ addressed to the rich and powerful; third, it does not recognize as “apostolic” the traditions of the mainline Christian Churches (particularly the Roman Catholic and Orthodox in other countries); fourth, it considers itself as very different from the mainline Christian churches and does not worry itself about ecumenical concerns; fifth, it does not bother itself as regards the global problems of wars, poverty and inequalities among peoples and nations; and, sixth, it merely stresses spiritual conversion and salvation of individual persons. One example of this is defined and found in The Way of Salvation. It states:
There are differences within Christian churches that have created various denominations… These denominations have differences regarding their beliefs in God and salvation… [But] the church that preaches the true gospel today is the true one that continues the teachings of Jesus Christ and the apostles… There are three integral phases in the complete Christian conversion and salvation…: (1) Confess Jesus As Lord; (2) Receive the Life of Christ… by accepting the three sacraments: baptism, footwashing [CNL], and Holy Communion; [and] (3) Live by the Spirit.
Some Church leaders and CNL cadres in Northern Luzon, Philippines even suspect that CIA elements may also be using the International Criminal Police Organization or Interpol in order to spy on the activities of the progressive Church people. The basis of this is the fact that the CNL research team found out in 2019 that some ordained priests and ministers in Northern Luzon were issued Interpol badges at ₱500 per badge. One priest was, in fact, given an Interpol badge, ranking him as a brigadier general! Those given Interpol badges were told to submit regularly their findings on people involved in various criminalities, including those engaged in the communist insurgency. Such suspicion by some Church leaders and CNL cadres may have been based on the fact that even the United Nations’ Security Council is under the direct control of US imperialism and other imperialist powers. Therefore, it is easy to assume the great possibility that the CIA forces currently at work in the Philippines are already using the Interpol in order to spy on the CNL, even though the Interpol clearly states in its international policy that it “is strictly non-political and is forbidden to undertake any activities of a religious, racial, or military nature; and only government-approved police bodies may hold Interpol membership.”
It must, therefore, be very clear to all Christians—the ordained, the religious, the laity—that US imperialism and the CIA provocateurs go on using the Christian religion and the anti-communist propaganda to thwart the participation of Christians—the ordained, the religious and the laity— in the Philippine NDR which has a socialist perspective. And although it would be expounded on in the CNL’s 8th topic, CNL’s Concluding Remarks: God’s Kingdom as the Reign of Truth, Justice, Peace, Love, Equality and Liberation, all CNL members further pray that all Filipino Christians relegate the Church’s more than two-century old partiality to capitalism, be open to dialogue with Marxists, and be inspired by Pope Francis who said in his November 11, 2016 interview at the Vatican City: “It’s the communists who think like Christians.”

Ahead of Philippine President Marcos Jr.’s visit with President Biden on Monday, May 1st, over one hundred faith organizations and institutions–including Ecumenical Advocacy Network on the Philippines, Pax Christi USA, Presbyterian Church – USA Office of Public Witness and the United Methodist Church Board of Church & Society – initiated an ecumenical letter with the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines to call on President Biden to abstain from any new military agreements with President Marcos that will further contribute to human rights violations. The cosigning faith groups additionally urged President Biden to support the Philippine Human Rights Act, which would suspend US security assistance to the Philippines until the Government of the Philippines has investigated and prosecuted human rights abuses in the military and police force.
Noting the lack of change since Marcos assumed office 10 months ago, faith communities state: “President Marcos and his administration have shown ongoing impunity for human rights abuses similar to those seen under the preceding Duterte presidency. Human Rights Watch reports there has been “no let up” in the war on drugs under Marcos Jr., which took as many as 30,000 lives under Duterte. Karapatan Human Rights Alliance reports that from July to December 2022, there were 17 extrajudicial killings, 165 illegal arrests, and a total of 825 political prisoners, 73 of whom are elderly. Karapatan additionally recorded 200 cases of red-tagging and notes that the Marcos Administration continues to use the Anti-Terrorism Act and the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) “to create an unsafe environment for activists, rendering them more vulnerable to attacks against their persons.”
The ecumenical letter, which follows an interfaith delegation hosted by ICHRP that traveled to the Philippines in February, notes the delegation “met with dozens of community members and organizers who confirmed that the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police are guilty of widespread violations of human rights and international humanitarian law. We are aghast,” it states, “that despite the human rights situation, our government continues to channel various forms of resources to the Philippines (i.e. military training, weapons). In addition, the most recent military deal to build  four more US military bases in the country is an affront to the peace of the region. As people of faith, we strongly oppose and condemn the use of a large portion of our country’s budget to support regimes that oppress their populations.”
The release of the letter comes alongside mass protests of Filipino-Americans and allies from labor and human rights organizations, who are holding an all-day vigil in front of the White House on Monday.

OK.īack to the installer summary window, click Install to continue with the rest of the installation.Īfter installation has completed successfully, reboot the computer. You can see that /dev/sda is the “Device for boot loader installation.” That is just another way of saying that GRUB will be installed in the MBR.įor this tutorial, you want to change it to /dev/sda5. So, to change where GRUB should be installed, click Advanced. The recommended option is to install GRUB in the root partition of BackTrack, which in this case, is /dev/sda5.
#DOWNLOAD BACKTRACK 5 FOR WINDOWS 7 UPGRADE#
In setting up a dual-boot system with Windows, installing it there will overwrite the Windows boot loader, which could cause major headaches for you when you reinstall or upgrade Windows, or install certain anti-virus programs. By default, GRUB, the GRand Unified Bootloader, is installed in the Master Boot Record (MBR). And this is also where you specify where you want the installer to install GRUB, the boot loader. On the next step, shown here, the installer gives a summary of what it will do, based on the selections you made. OK.īack to the main window, click Forward to move to the next step. Click OK to return to the main window.įor the next partition, which should be for Swap, select “swap area” from the “Use as” menu and specify the amount of disk space you want. This is what the same step looks like after the right values have been specified. Finally, select the mount point from the “Mount point” dropdown menu. What you need to do at this step, is specify the amount of disk space you want to use for BackTrack 5, then select the file system from the “Use as” dropdown menu (the default is ext4). If you are confused about “primary” and “logical,” take a few minutes to read guide to disks and disk partitions in Linux. BackTrack, like any Linux distribution, can boot from a logical or primary partition.
#DOWNLOAD BACKTRACK 5 FOR WINDOWS 7 WINDOWS 7#
Since there are two existing partitions (the Windows 7 partitions), the installer will attempt to create the BackTrack partitions as logical partitions, which is just fine. For this tutorial, just two partitions will be created. For a distribution of this sort, that is likely all you need, unless you want to add an NTFS partition at the end for whatever reason you can think of. By default, the BackTrack 5 installer creates just two partitions – one for the root partition, and the other for Swap. So the next step is to select it and click the Add button. Just to show how this can be done manually, the last option is selected for this tutorial.Īnd it just so happens that the target disk has some unpartitioned space. If you do not, and want to go this route, you might want to read guide to disks and disk partitions in Linux and tips for dual-booting Windows and Linux. This assumes that you have some knowledge of disk partitioning in Linux. Use the fourth option (Specify partitions manually (advanced)) if you want to create a custom set of partitions. Select option 3 (Use the largest continuous free space) only if there is unpartitioned space on the target disk and you want the installer to auto-partition the space. Select the first option if all the space on the disk is taken up by Windows and you want the installer to shrink Windows and install BackTrack. Since the objective is to set up a dual-boot system, you obviously do not want to choose the second option (Erase and use entire disk). How you want to set up the dual-boot system will determine which one you select. Notice that you have four disk partitioning options. And when the installer launches, click through the first few steps until you get to the one shown below, It is the fourth of eight steps of the installation process. Once in the Live desktop, click on the Install BackTrack icon on the desktop. To boot into a Live KDE desktop, type startx and press the Enter key on your keyboard. The system will boot into a console and you will see a prompt just like the one in the image below. Burn it to a DVD, then place the DVD in your computer’s optical drive and reboot.

Pahayag din ni Mary Ann Castillo, ang Presidente ng NPIWU, “we were wrong to think that COVID-19 is the biggest threat to our lives right now.”
