I know a lot of pple on this site hate MCU stans, and that's understandable. Me personally? I don't think all MCU stans deserve the hate, I personally enjoy vibing in the corner of the MCU fandom that's dedicated to Black Panther, Eternals, and the characters of color in general. Any MCU fan knows that the way Letitia Wright is being treated and the way she has been treated for the past 2 years has nothing to do with her tweets and everything to do with racism and misogynoir.

I'm saying this because I'm a MCU fan myself and for years I've had to sit through the fandom finding excuses for RDJ, ScarJo, or Sebastian Stan for all their problematic actions, tweets, movies, interviews. They would always try to find context or excuses, to soften the issue or try to make it seem like it was in the past and we should move on. However they never, ever extended the same courtesy to Letitia Wright, even though her tweets were from 2 years ago. The media chose instead to blow things out of proportion and the public followed.

People were happy to spread rumors about her making trouble on set, when a simple click to those clickbaiting articles would have show you that the reason why Wakanda Forever production had been stopped was because she had been injured on set and that she had never spread anti vaccinations views (both Ryan Coogler and Nate Moore).

Black celebrities are held to different standards than their White counterparts and no one seems disturbed by that.

Earlier this year Evangeline Lilly, was participating to anti vaccination protests and this never triggered any campaign to #RecastHope even when the Ant Man trailer came out.

And now THIS? This article somehow implying that rape and sexual assault are on the same level as controversial tweets from 2020.

I'm starting to think people don't actually care about the controversy itself but about the skin color of the person involved.

Enough! Enough with the hypocrisy and enough with people condoning racism whenever they have a chance to.

And I have absolutely no respect for the man Scott Feinberg who the article.

Its always mindboggling to find a person that is anti MCU Wanda but pro Tony Stark

Like look I hate MCU Wanda as much as the next guy but I dont really think you should be talking about the awful shit MCU Wanda has done and then go defend the shit Tony Stark has done

Been a complete dick to all of his teammates

Manipulated a 16 year old into getting into a war with his former teammates

Made multiple misogynistic comments about women mainly Natasha

Thought he was completely justified for trying to kill Bucky for something Bucky did unwillingly cuz he was fucking brainwashed

Repeatedly mocked Bruce Banner who was filled with self loathing and even tried to kill himself because of how much he hated being The Hulk

And more

And you are probably thinking "But he sacrificed himself at the end of Endgame!"

Let me ask you this

If Strange had told Tony that the only way to defeat Thanos is if Tony sacrificed himself would Tony do it? No because hes selfish

And look I dont wanna hear Tony stans talk shit about Elon Musk either because guess what? RDJ is friends with Elon Musk and based his portrayal of Tony Stark on Elon Musk

Bottom line is MCU Wanda sucks and Tony Stark sucks

You guys forget that there's a lot between "antis" and Tomdayas/nasty solo Tom and solo Z stans. Some of us have been fans of Tom since before Spider-Man, root for him as an actor, and treat his relationship like we do any other actors' relationship.

I follow people in the industry who are not Tomdayas or stans of Tom or Zendaya and even they have said they believe in Tom as an actor and want him away from the franchises. There are also people who now want Z away from Sam.

Tom is the one who let slip that he didn't want to do SM into his 20s. RDJ said the exact same thing about him. I believe Tom meant that when he said it and the cleaned it up later. Elizabeth Olsen said some things very similar in tone about her own involvement in the franchise. Look at what's happening with Brie Larson, Hemsworth, Hiddleston, Paul Rudd (who wrote stuff dunking on the MCU into this last season of Party Down), and Disney/MCU in general. It's a shitshow before you even add Sony's involvement. So, is it really a mystery why some Tom fans think it's odd that he may have signed back on for 3 more solo films plus 1-2 Avenger films?

PS: If you haven't seen the fans are here whining about needing new "content" from Tom and Z 48 hours after they were last spotted (stalked), count yourself lucky. There are definitely people who literally say they only want another SM movie because they want another press tour.

I mean, I'll be honest, I have my own personal thoughts and feelings about the state of the MCU and some of the Marvel films that have come out during this newer phase. Mostly, the biggest thing I feel is slight over-saturation.

I'm still enjoying the films, but I almost kind of wish that Marvel would take more TIME in their releases, and work on producing a really great product, as opposed to releasing several movies per year AND on Disney+, to the point where some fans have a hard time keeping up, or fans being disappointed in the lackluster quality of the films.

I'd rather wait every 5 years for a "Dark Knight" caliber of film, as opposed to getting a new film/series every 2 months, and having lower-quality production. 👀

But that's just me. 🤷🏾‍♀️

So, is it really a mystery why some Tom fans think it's odd that he may have signed back on for 3 more solo films plus 1-2 Avenger films?

But see....here is my issue with fans.... Fans are already complaining before anything has officially been announced yet, and BEFORE we even know whether Tom will be signing on to 3 films all at once, or, will be signing on film by film (which, imo is WAY more smart).

I think fans need to chill and save their outrage for when an official announcement actually comes out. Why waste time, breath, and energy getting all riled up over something like this, when 1) it's NOT that serious, and 2) nothing has been formally announced yet? 🥴

It's funny, when discussing how RDJ made way less money than Terrence Howard in IM1 and the resulting conflict between the two, the stans always go "RDJ was the titular character, of course he should have made more money than Howard!" They don't care that Howard was the most successful of the two and that RDJ had and still has a long streak of failed performances.

But when talking about RDJ getting over one million dollars for every minute he was in Spiderman Homecoming (while Holland got 1.5 for the entire film and everything that came with it), those people go very, very quiet. Double standard, your name is stan.

it will forever bug me that tony stark sat on his ass for five years while the universe was crumbling and struggling to rebalance their communities after the blip, but yet when he finally helped bring back the billions of people that died, he was the one to get murals. he was the one to have a proper funeral. he was the one who left a “legacy”.

not natasha, who was always there for the people and being the one to run the avengers. 

not vision, who was a primary factor into trying to stop the blip from happening in the first place by sacrificing himself.

not any other hero who was murdered or sacrificed themselves during the battle of wakanda or the final battle between the avengers and thanos.

no one else got a funeral except a billionaire who spent the first thirty years of his life realizing that building war weapons was wrong, and spending the next ten years creating more problems for the real heroes.

Your post about the Russos? You're right, absolutely but if I may... The problem is: Tony.

Tony's arc end and should've being the retirement of Iron Man after Iron Man 3.

But then, CA:TWS happens. People call the best MCU movie, Cap's the best trilogy, and someone couldn't deal with it.

So they bring Iron Man back. And since then it's disaster after disaster. They cannot admit Iron Man is wrong (Civil War, IW, EG...)

And this changed everything.

Yep, I agree. It would have been much better for everyone if they ended Tony's arc in IM3.

I have a soft spot for IM Tony. For me, Tony was more relatable than Steve, because I see some of the same flaws he has in myself *cough* and I don't have Steve's optimism and goodness. And you know, there is something admirable about someone getting into their 40s and realising he had lived his life wrong and be brave enough to try and turn that around. Not a lot of people with his level of arrogance and privilege even get to that stage.

But that was the appeal of Tony, you know. At the surface he’s the archetypal problematic sheltered privileged gamer boy — smart, sassy, cynical, impatient, analytical, with very little EQ and social awareness. The IM movies was about subverting that stereotype, by making him learn empathy and idealism and optimism and compassion.

Problem started when people projected too much onto him, and he became an avatar to all these people who think they’re smarter than the rest of the world and that empathy is a waste of time. That’s where the whole “ends justifies the means” BS comes from. It’s an incredibly cynical worldview that was being sold as the right way to do things in Phase 3.

As to RDJ's role in CACW, I’m hesitant to blame him (namely because I don’t know much about their dynamics). Chris has always spoken highly of RDJ (and importantly, vice versa), as have other costars, and I don’t mean the superficial “yeah haha he’s nice to work with” stuff, but actual vignettes of how they go to him for advice and support. I know RDJ comes across as arrogant in his interviews but I believe he plays the Tony Stark persona on these MCU tours. I think it's unsurprising for RDJ to feel very protective of Tony; there are similarities between RDJ's own experiences and Tony's. There are a lot of brilliantly talented people who get swallowed by the shit hole that is Hollywood, so I do admire what RDJ has managed to do with his own life. To his credit, he acted his heart out for Tony in every movie. I think he was entitled to request that Tony be given a coherent arc in Cap 3, as much as the villains in NWH also asked for (and got) something coherent in that movie. The problem of course was that Tony’s part was disproportionately big in this, but I don’t know that the decision to make Tony so central in that movie can be blamed on RDJ and not the directors/writers who sincerely gave you Steve’s happy ending in Endgame.
