She says pretty much exactly what I’ve been thinking…the questions being asked (vague as hell) and the answers being given (ridiculous, make no sense, ultra PR) are completely unnecessary. If they can’t share their own opinion, just say no comment! No need to say that’s it’s background noise or distracting, because it’s fucking not.

Them saying it doesn’t affect them is crazy too because it has happened in the biggest team, with the most prolific team principle. It could happen in any team, any workplace.

The responses that drivers have given are vague, ultra-PR, unempathetic, and honestly sound completely unrehearsed and not even thought through. It’s almost like the PR teams think that basic human empathy isn’t even allowed to be expressed. And of course, the drivers want to keep the teams and sponsors happy so they will do what they are told.

I truly hope that there is empathy felt, even if deep down, and I hope someone gains some courage to speak up about it. It’s not even that I want someone to make a huge statement, I just want recognition that it’s fucked up and that it’s even happening. It really feels so horrible that no one is talking about it outright and even when it’s discussed it’s in vague wording and brushed over as “background noise”.
