Will never understand the needless morality logic Stefan stans place around their love for Stefan (which only ever seems to exist to hate on Damon). I will always prefer a man that kills for an emotional reason over a man that kills just due to the lust to kill. Bloodlust is a desire just as much as “I killed him because I wanted to”-Damon always kills for humanity/emotional reasons. It’s just that stefan denies that bloodlust is a desire, while Damon admits his desire. Will always prefer a man that owns his flaws instead of denies them. I guess it’s my personal emotional bias, that denial of flaws imo is less redeemable than reveling in one’s flaws (Damon). Denial of flaws (and looking down on other’s) is the whole basis of the Christian white supremacist b.s. I’ve lived under my whole life.

And Caroline gives him and Mystic Falls up to take Klaus up on his promise and it suddenly dawns on Stefan that he's lost the best thing that ever happened to him.

Oh good grief!

Why is it that I always come across these types of Stelena stans? The ones that presume I am attacking them and their character.

If you don't know I was just saying that Damon has a point when he gave his "I don't want to live up to everyone's expectations" and sometimes you have to be the bad guy because live doesn't always give absolutely everyone the ability to be nice or even good every single day.

Life is more complicated than a lot of Stelena's want to acknowledge. You don't always get to be the good guy in your life story, sometimes you have to be like Damon (metaphorically speaking of course) and be the bad guy and there's nothing you can do about it.

my hatred for d*mon lessened over the years but it's still so fucking irritating to me when damon fans praise his "character development" (aka being woobified/blaming and abusing the women in his life for his struggles) when klaus, a (entitled and selfish because hello he's a white male character in tvdu just like the salvabros) villain, actually had the more interesting characterization and development and didn't r*pe anyone had the real development the salvabros think they had (he may not have treated women or anyone well but he was still held accountable for it and had to actually face consequences unlike d*mon)

and i mean even tyler was the kindest man on tvd as opposed to all three of the Main White Assholes but y'all completely ignored how much his arc mattered to the story?? him becoming a wolf and being sired and fighting for caroline's agency and his own and being an actual hero WHILE HE WAS A TEENAGE BOY when it took the salvabros 200+ years to learn anything

Rachel!! Your blog is one of the main reasons I check Tumblr daily. So since I saw you got a TVD ask. I wanted to make a TVD confession. I fully expected to ship Stelena over Delena for a variety of reasons, but when I actually watched I just felt like Delena had a relationship that despite its problems was more genuine and real? I also feel like Elena was happier and more in love with Damon and they often had better and more honest communication than Stelena did, as odd as that sounds given that Stelena was supposedly the "healthy" and stable ship. Here's my very very very UO that I could only confess on anon: I sort of dislike Stefan. I thought I'd LOVE him. He's completely my type. I don't know if it's the writing or acting or some combination, but for me the character came off as arrogant, detached, self-superior and a bit cold more often than not. And there's this disconnect where we're told over and over that non-Ripper Stefan is so very good and heroic but then in reality he just doesn't come off nearly as genuinely kind and selfless as he's made out to be. And post-Stelena Stefan in particular was actually kind of an ass to most people?! Damon ends up getting close to Bonnie, Ric, Liz Forbes etc, but Stefan deep down didn't really seem to value connection with any person other than Elena? Don't get me started on the mess that was Steroline and how imbalanced that relationship seemed. Anyway, just wanted to confess my uo while also telling you how much I love your blog.

It’s still insane how that side of tvdu fandom vilifies Tyler for choosing to get revenge on the man that killed his mother and friends instead of staying with Caroline, all because they needed an excuse to make Klaus look like the better choice for Care. Which is insane because he has physically harmed Caroline and almost killed her, yet somehow him doing that isn’t terrible as Tyler growling at Caroline bc she slept with the man who tortured him and again, has killed his mother…

“Tyler slut shamed her”… when all he stated was that she slept with Klaus. Even in show, they have Stefan punching him and acting as if he said something egregious [Them completely forgetting all the times they have Caroline call other female characters sluts or insinuate it, but ofc the writers and fandom have selective memory when it comes to certain characters] when Tyler had the right to be upset over his girlfriend sleeping with the man who destroyed his life.

This is the same side that calls Bonnie a terrible friend because she didn’t immediately warm up to Caroline being a vampire. Even though Caroline had literally killed an innocent person—Even though Bonnie made her a daylight ring not too long after. But this is the TVD fandom we’re talking about, so of course black and poc character’s feelings are not an importance to them. It’s interesting how they are so quick to infantilize and baby white characters, yet the black/poc chars are supposed to easily move on from their trauma, deal with it, and prioritize their white counterparts over themselves.

TDV Stans will state all the reasons why Bonnie was guarded around vampires in the early seasons, yet still say she was a weirdo, or a bitch for acting the way she did.

Them: "you know I get it, her grams died and vampires have done nothing but cause her trauma and despite being a 16/17 year old witch who’s been thrown into the supernatural world having to protect everyone whether she was forced to or not that still didn’t give her the right to be distant to Elena, the Salvatore's and act like a bitch to everyone".

Like UM HELLO grams just died. Excuse Bonnie TF out of her for not being in a cheerful kind of mood.

They sound like Caroline when she said Elena used to be fun before her parents died when they say stuff like that. make it make sense.

I finally gave up and saw TVD to understand some stuff in TO, and I just have to say: what an awfully written show. My goodness, how the hell is the most annoying girl in Mystic Falls the anchor who holds them together? Caroline, the fandom darling has no personality whatsoever. She's a camaleon, she's what they need her to be in the episode. Sometimes, she's the greatest soul alive, sometimes she's only there to slutshame another girl for doing exactly what she does. Sometimes she's pinning after her boyfriend, sometimes she backstabs him. Sometimes she's so repulsed by the 1000 year murder who bribes her with fancy things and sometimes she's okay to use the hell out of him to have what she needs. Elena, who's supposed to be the protagonist, becomes more and more the love interest to Damon. His love for her, that both recognize as toxic, comes from a sire bond and everyone insists to pretend that she loves him just the same without it as if she wasn't heavily projecting Stefan on him to the point he calls her out. The Originals, who were supposed to be invicible, the most insane of them just dies for a teenage hunter. Finn, the most sane one, portrait as a bore because he resented the bother who kept him in a coffin for thousands of years. Katherine, who I swear is one of the only two female characters really interesting in this show, is called a bitch all the time for the unforgivable crime of running from a psycho hybrid who wanted to slaughter her and then slaughtered her fucking family. Elijah and Rebekah does not exist outside of Klaus. Rebekah was just extremely annoying till they gave her a real personality and in the spin-off. Out of nowhere, she was obsessed with being human. Bonnie, poor Bonnie. The racism was blatantly showing. She was only there to be the magic negro trope. They didn't even allowed her to have romantic storyline! Her boyfriend who she resurrected cheats on her with a freaking ghost and she still back with him in season 5? She deserved so much better. Damon turns her mother in a vampire and then she's his best friend? She loses her entire family as well and is never treated with the same courtesy Elena has been treated. Not even the fancy balls she could attend, apparently. (Her wigs were also terrible. Poor Kat, they made her appear so old sometimes with those hairs).

And the romantic pairings? Awful. Damon and Elena were downright disgusting. He raped Caroline. Why everyone pretends he wasn't compelling her while having sex with her? Why all these centuries old man are so obsessed with fuck teenagers? How's that's romantic, date a girl on high school when you had two shares of a lifetime? Even if we take in consideration the lore that vampires stop aging when they're turned, the only couple who would make sense in this logic were Stefan and Elena, since Stefan was a teenager when turned. Klaus and Caroline had no romantic connection. She used him dry, he bite her to die to make a point to her boyfriend. He would be her last love but fucked her and left. She hated him but would happily accept his gifts while treating him like a dog. Damon and Elena loudly assume to each other that they are terrible together but then forget because they're fucking again. I swear to god, that relationship was pure based on their sex drive. She wanted that old dick so bad she blamed dead Katherine for the fact he killed her friend and threatened her brother.

The timeline made no sense. Plotholes all around. Why Bonnie couldn't make magic while being the anchor? Must be because she would be too powerful, and with Elena being so useless, they couldn't allow that. Caroline is another one completely useless for the plot. She could disappear from the show and wouldn't change a single thing.

It's really awful. After finally seeing this I can say with conviction that The Originals was the best they could have.

I swear to god every time I get a Stelena/Stefan Stan arguing with me or worshipping Stefan it all comes down to them not knowing the difference between facts and emotional opinions. Please society, learn media literacy and humanities. Realize that morality and ethics are based on opinions and evolve over time. So i just seen a tiktok about Elena's necklace and of course the comments were filled with people arguing over it being a delena/stelena thing. And it just flared up this visceral rage I have for the amount of Retconning the show did when it comes to Stelena/Delena.

Like oh Stefan met her first, no wait Damond did. Oh 3x01 had an epic Stelena scene were see how strong their love is? Syke, this is where she fell in love with Damon. Not to mention all the constant "oh please look at what poor Damon went through, he just needs to be loved" crap.

And the whole doppleganger prophecy thing when it came to Stefan and Elena was really them trying to say "but look stelena wasn't real".

And i get Damons back story, i really do but it was obviously just shoe horned in at the last minute to make him look like a less shitty brother and not like stefan was doing all the heavy lifting in that relationship, which he obviously had been.

Even if I shipped DE them I would still be mad. Like why not give them their own symbol instead of a necklace Stefan gave to her? And what difference did her meeting him first make, like at all? She didnt even know him then.

Anyway it all just comes across as very lazy writing to me. Like they actually didn't actually know how to build up Delena so they just focused on tearing down Stelena.

Tyler being disliked in the fandom ties into how they feel on what happens to him. Kelly Donovan was the adult in the situation and 100% took advantage. Tyler is the same age as her children to really put it in perspective. She should’ve refused and controlled the situation. She is an adult, there is no excuses.

People say it doesn’t count because Tyler consented to it. Tyler’s a male, she’s an older woman so it should be seen as “sexy.” Sexual assault isn’t taken very seriously by the TVDU fandom because TVDU never wants to call it as it is. They rather sweep it under the rug.

Marcel and Rebekah are another example of when the woman needed to set boundaries versus taking advantage of the male. It’s Rebekah though and no one wants to call her a groomer but she looks like one when Marcel met her as a child and has had feelings for her since then. In none of Marbekah scenes with child!Marcel does Rebekah ever refuse Marcel’s advances. Katherine assaulted Stefan but that is glossed over.

Women are just as capable of being sexual predators.
