I saw your post about Lily and... PLEASE go into the stuff with this fandom and mothers. I feel like they erase everyone who doesn't fit in with their ships, and the result is that Nymphadora/Lily/etc get zero credit

Fandom loves to reject the idea of a nuclear family. This is perfectly fine - we need more representation of other types of families: single parent, same sex parents, grandparents as primary caregivers, etc.

The issue is that (9 times out of 10) fans will sacrifice the female characters in order to entertain these "alternate" timelines.

Lily is moved out of the way so James can explore his gay feelings for Regulus. Regulus will replace Lily as Harry's mother. Andromeda is killed off so that Harry (who never married Ginny) can be a single dad to Teddy. Tonks is ignored completely in favor of Wolfstar. And more.

In other cases, the mothers are vilified. Lily resents having a kid at such a young age. Molly becomes someone with malicious intent, who only used Harry for fame. And Walburga is turned into an abusive, evil woman with no redeemable qualities.

I like the canon version of the Marauders, a very close group of friends who are mostly good people who do have a flaw of being bullies to Snape, but they were starting to grow out of it, but were screwed over because of a terrible war. I hate the fanon version of the Marauders that are portrayed as uber feminists who bullied Snape the incel in the name of social justice. I also don’t like how some parts of the Marauders fandom acts of if Regulus Black is the real true love of James when in reality James always had a crush on Lily. I also don’t like how WolfStar is treated as OTP and some people go so far as to say you are homophobic if you don’t ship them. To me nothing pointed to Remus ever being attracted to guys, in fact I think it was more likely that he was straight. I see Sirius as being pansexual, but I think his main guy crush was James, not Remus. The only reason why he never acted on that crush was because he knew that James was straight and in love with Lily.

I’m gonna be real trying to find dadfoot without Remus Lupin involved is annoyingly difficult considering Harry didn’t even think of him as anything other than Lupin for like the whole series. Like that man was not a father figure to Harry. Even the one year he was with Harry for a full nine months he didn’t even tell him that he knew his parents. He didn’t write to him during the tournament. He was an absent father if he was a father at all which he was not. Dadfoot supremacy y’all.

Also I don’t know who posted it but there was like a snippet on here where Harry gets upset at Lupin saying “What do you think we would do, let them starve,” when Mrs. Weasley was worried about Ginny and Ron if her and Mr. Weasley died. And Sirius was obviously the one who went after him and talked to him about how they didn’t care when it was Harry starving. Which genuinely broke me I was crying. But the point is Sirius spoke to Lupin and told him to either be absent or present not this weird mix. And I don’t think wolfstar is possible because Sirius will always prioritize Harry and Lupin just wouldn’t.

So wolfstar would only be possible if you threw canon out the window entirely. And that’s actually what I don’t like about wolfstar is that it feels like writers take every good quality about Sirius and ascribe it to Lupin in order to make wolfstar work and that’s fine I guess but it’s basically just ocs at that point.

I’m rambling, my main point is dadfoot supremacy, like I could talk forever about what a good father he was and how present he was even when he was a literal fugitive for their entire relationship.

But most of these posts are saying things like ‘stfu if you like these ships, nobody cares, it’s disgusting you ship this’ while also saying that we need to stop hating on them. so here’s to anybody who doesn’t ship wolfstar or jegulus; good for you. you are great, and i truly do hope you’re happy. nothing is wrong with not shipping it, but what’s not okay to do is say that we’re annoying for enjoying and sharing this content that makes us happy. i personally love wolfstar, and have always been weirded out a bit by remadora simply bc of the age difference. that’s my opinion. i adore jily. i also adore jegulus. let people live.

alright, unpopular opinion time, even though no one asked for it. this is defenitely getting me a lot of hate.

jily sucks. i generally do not understand why the hell did lily randomly date james in their 7th year when her and severus split apart. she did it to annoy severus or what, i don't know. she calls james an arrogant toerag, then she randomly goes and date that toerag for what? did she just... like him right after the mudblood incident?

snily made more sense. ok, that's going to get me a lot of hate, but i don't care. to me, snily had more chemistry than jily. severus and lily were childhood friends, and defenitely made more sense and had more chemistry than jily, which is just very random romance.

wolfstar sucks. that's gonna get me even more hate from the wolfstar stans ngl. remus does not find sirius attractive, nor does sirius find remus attractive. sirius was closer to james, and is most likely to develope a crush for james instead. not to mention sirius almost made his best friend, who's in his werewolf form, commit murder.

One of the greatest sins the HP and Marauders fandom (b/c the latter loves to separate itself from the rest of the fandom for posterity LOL) have committed is reducing the women into incubators for their MLM ships' children (Ginny and Astoria for Drarry, Tonks for Wolfstar or Drarry, Lily for Jegulus) but none of them are ready for that conversation.

It's always "not every female character needs to be a mother" yet they have no problem actually allowing them to have the kids - they just won't let them be anything else.
