Unabashedly love how Deltarune's main cast (Kris, Susie, Noelle, Ralsei) all seem to be based off types of horror monsters, combining very antagonistic/ off-putting personas with the average experience of being an awkward teenager.
There's Kris, the human, who's compared to a shambling corpse, a type of zombie lacking life for itself, bound to the most basic impulses for life, or perhaps a phantom knight, a ghost chasing after a otherwordly, personal liege to die for.
There's Susie, the bully, the gangster, the wild barbaric beast, the 'dark' one in the group, who played her role straight in chapter one, attacking anything in her path for daring to be weaker than her, and even once on the side of good, can't shake her doubts that she stands as a barely contained anti-hero compared to her friends.
Noelle, of course, is the witch & the ghost - both roles brought to the front throughout the course of the Weird Route. The Witch - she is the holder for some of the most destructive magic seen so far, a Knight capable of opening a Dark Fountain. And as the Ghost, Noelle is bound by history's tragedies to repeat them blindly, seeking a sense of closure for her family as it still cannot be found.
Ralsei, as he stands, seems to be some fae-type creature - a darkner that operates on a set of foreign, arbitrary rules - for whom friendship is paid with by acquiescence to said rules. How solid is his friendship? To who is loyalty owed to? We don't know. Neither does Ralsei - he's a shapeshifter, self variable and changing. If there is a price to pay, it will be paid dearly: Ralsei stands as the Prince of Darkners, and his CastleTown is both a hub for our friends, and the prison for our enemies.
There is something sweet about such a ragtag group of weirdoes finding community with each other, a chance to grow-up with friends and allies.

HOFAS SPOILER (concerning the Cauldron)
_First let's go back to Rhys's explanation of the mating bonds:
“What decides it? Who decides it?” Rhys straightened his lapels before plucking an invisible piece of lint from them. “Fate, the Mother, the Cauldron’s swirling eddies …”
It is clearly stated that the bond can be decided by fate, the mother, or the cauldron.
“There is choice. And sometimes, yes—the bond picks poorly. Sometimes, the bond is nothing more than some … preordained guesswork at who will provide the strongest offspring. At its basest level, it’s perhaps only that. Some natural function, not an indication of true, paired souls.” A smile at me—at the rareness, perhaps, of what we had'.…' Many mated pairs will try to make it work, believing the Cauldron selected them for a reason. Only years later will they realize that perhaps the pairing was not ideal in spirit.”
There are bonds only to provide the strongest offspring, like Rhys's parents or Tamlin's parents bond and there are rare bonds of true paired souls like Feysand and Nessian bond.
HOFAS:
The Cauldron was of our world, our heritage. But upon arriving here, the daglan captured it and used their power to twist it. To turn it into something more lethal. No longer a tool of creation, but of destruction.
An explanation by a Daglan:
We gathered our power and imbued these gifts in the Cauldron, so that it would work our will. With this, the treasures were made. And then we connected the essence of the Cauldron to the soul of this world. Destroy the Cauldron and you destroy this world. One cannot exists without another.
The Cauldron was turned by the Daglan to serve their agenda, and they connected it to Prythian in a way that if anyone tries to destroy it, Prythian will be destroyed as well.
_Now, let's get an idea about the Asteri's aka Daglan breeding system:
Celestina only said, “He departs tomorrow. I shall visit his keep next month if there is not … a change in my situation by then.”If she hadn’t gotten pregnant.
Hunt nodded, even as disgust and rage curled through him. The Asteri had ordered this, done this. They’d make Celestina keep going to Ephraim until she was pregnant with the child they wanted her to bear. Another little Archangel for them to mold into a monster.
Doesn't it sound like 'producing strong' offspring, 'natural function'?
What if the Asteri back in Prythian manipulated the cauldron to create mating bonds, knowing the importance of it for the Fae, so they could benefit from their children and manipulate them?
I don't know why antis kept accusing Elriels of spreading misinformation, considering our conclusions are based on what's written in the books.
The Cauldron literally operates under Daglan's system, so it can't be trusted; indeed, it is not a perfect matching system.
_Let's get back to these important scenes:
"If anyone can sense if something is amiss, it’s a mate.”.... “The mating bond. It is a bridge between souls.”
Madja here is clearly addressing the real meeting bond—the one of paired souls.
Lucien:
“There’s a bond—it’s a real thread,” he said, more to himself than us. .... “And I got to Elain’s end of it when she ran off.” “Did you sense anything?” “No—I didn’t have time. I felt her, but …” A blush stained his cheek. Whatever he’d felt, it wasn’t what we were looking for. Even if we had no idea what, precisely, that was.
Lucien murmured to me, eye still fixed on Elain, “Should we—does she need …?”
Azriel :
“She doesn’t need anything,” Azriel answered without so much as looking at Lucien. Elain was staring at the spymaster now—unblinkingly. “We’re the ones who need …” Azriel trailed off. “A seer,” he said, more to himself than us. “The Cauldron made you a seer.”
I think this was foreshadowing. Even though a bond exists between them, Lucien wasn't able to sense the change in Elain, while Azriel managed to discern it.
What if the Cauldron's bond between Lucien and Elain, described as 'a thread tied to a rib,' is what was considered a 'natural function'? Yet, there exists another bond between her and Azriel, 'a bridge between souls,' and they are the true paired souls by the mother or the fate . What if the Cauldron was wrong?
I know the antis argument of that means Lucien is stronger than Az, which is why the Cauldron chose him for Elain. When the bond snapped between them, Azriel was out of power, literally dying. It's another reason the Cauldron might be wrong.
Also, the argument: if the Cauldron is corrupted and loves Elain, then she's a villain.
Duh? Why not consider that even though it's corrupted, it recognized Elain's pure heart and her power, the different kind of strength concentrated in her kindness? If she influenced it, maybe she has the ability to fix the Cauldron, turning it back to its original purpose, a tool of creation, not destruction.

I really want to give a shout-out to the Mobile Frame Zero community for the really, really cool work they’ve done since the following work was made possible by their efforts.
So, I watched all of Evangelion and was like “wow, mechs vs monsters is so sick like for real”
So my next Lego project is going to be mechs vs monsters in a micro city, thus continuing my trend of projects that stretch my collection instead of building on it.
While Brikwars shenanigans continue I have been building the mechs.
Tumblr media
Here they are, a handsome little collection.
I wanted to write this post to expand on the lore of each machine but also to give credit to the excellent mech and frame builders I copied from. I think I have a real talent for castles and landscapes but machines and space builds still don’t feel right, so I’m thankful for others who have paved the way.
From left to right:
Tumblr media
W-024 “Ancient Ode” is one of the original War Class mechs before the expansion of their battlefield roles, and is now one of the last to operate. It owes its longevity to numerous upgrades given its stellar combat record across conflicts and operators. It keeps its original colors, an homage to the Army it used to serve.
This one is based on principles from Josh's Super Chub Marines, though I've multiplied the legs and made some significant changes to the arms and shoulders. This mech was originally going to be a melee focused machine, but the super chub legs have some balance problems when posing, and I was frustrated by the lack of articulation in the ankles.
The solution came to me in a dream (Armored Core VI). I doubled the legs for a quadrupedal design, inspired by the success I had using them against Sea Spider. Now it stays upright effortlessly and I could also use more sand green (one of the best Lego colors). In general, the four legs allow for beefier body parts and the back-mounted rocket launcher.
“W-class” refers to a time when mechs were first used for warfare instead of construction or manufacturing. Today, Ancient Ode would be referred to a BL-Class (Battleline), but owing to its service record the original classification sticks. Ancient Ode is the Ma Deuce of battle mechs. I enhanced the build with stickers from the Avatar sets, though I was disappointed when the sand green on the stickers clashes with the brick color.
Tumblr media
A-094 "Distant Oath" was one of the first artillery class mechs produced, as such the it was outfitted with a now-obsolete shoulder-mounted heavy cannon. While heavy cannon mounted in this manner such as the LM-15 Ultra Sonic have gone out of fashion in favor of much larger cannon or shorter range missile pods (a precursor of which is mounted on the right shoulder), it has been impractical to repurpose A-class mechs like Distant Oath.
Distant Oath is heavily based on the MF0 frame Uhlan Marine by skroberto on Flickr. I had to figure out most of it from his photos and other resources on the MF0 Facebook page. It's a great frame, but I made some internal changes to make it suitable for physical construction. Unfortunately, it is the least stable mech in the collection because the “knee” joint is a round tile using opposite anti-studs to hold the legs together.
Given the stability problems and its size I decided it would be an artillery piece. I added some stickers from a Mindstorms set, and the “A” in “A-class” was derived from the stickers. The cannon has one that says “Ultra Sonic” so that’s the name of the cannon. Distant Oath was almost a shade of blue, but I was using Orange while I designed it and decided I loved it too much to change.
Tumblr media
S-62-2 “Wild Eyes” is a strike/support class mech designed for air superiority missions. These machines are among the newest frames produced, with boosted legs for softer landings and a lighter exoskeleton to let the booster engines really shine. They are useful for sustained flight and boosting directly into engagements.
This is a combination of concepts from -SuspendedAnimation-'s Rigel II and Andromeda MFO frames that use their X-11 core.
Wild Eyes is a strike/support class because I’ve decided that machines that are smaller and more mobile can have so many different roles that it would be impractical to classify them all different. The color chosen for the only soft blue that includes the chest piece and the shoulder bricks. Wild Eyes is a little lanky after I modified the arms to be more posable and it looked very “flight” to me so I gave them a real set of boost engines designed to fly around and harass.
I used more mindstorms stickers since they are transparent, but I was able to find some for the fund that say “Danger, Jet Blast” in a Marvel jet I could cut apart to fit.
Tumblr media
S-973 No Survivors is a strike/support class mech designed for sustained ground operations. It's outfitted with stronger than standard armor and a booster engine for mobility to offset the additional weight. Additionally, it's equipped with a utility launcher for tactical munitions or a short range pile driver. Often, this style of S-class mechs carries a melee weapon, and No Survivors wields an RES (Rapid Energy Sword).
This one is a modified version of -SuspendedAnimation-'s Comanche core. I changed the shoulder and elbow assembly because I don't like how fragile modified tiles and taps are, something I also did for Wild Eyes and Ancient Ode. The rifle is their design as well.
Once again, the mech’s numerical designation is derived from the stickers. This one uses several unmodified from a Marvel jet. Like Distant Oath, No Survivors has last resort munitions in the chest. The RES isn’t a static blade like a lot of other mech settings, as that would be impractical when trying to fight in between buildings. It operates a little bit like a lightsaber, activating when necessary, and the energy isn’t all that stable. It explodes out from the handle and is closer to a giant lighter than a true sword.
I’m excited to get the city built for the mechs to romp around in. I have a few buildings mocked up already, but I don’t have space for more until I can block out the roadways. I love how AC6 cities are laid out and will be taking lots of inspiration from there. I also want to do some retractable structures like Tokyo-3.
Anyway, have a good day, thanks for checking out my work.

Don't think I'll get over the irony of someone posting about the whole "40 beheaded babies" is a lie thing and then saying the death toll is 33000-55000.
Where the hell did they get 55000? Never seen that claimed by anyone, not even hamas. But, yeah Israel is the evil lier.
Like, how the heck can someone decry something as a lie while spewing lies? The fact that post had so many reblogs makes me think everyone is a dumb hypocritical asshole.
Hi Nonnie, I absolutely agree with you! In fact, the "40 beheaded babies" was people conflating two different things (confusing a report that there WERE Israeli kids and babies beheaded, tortured and mutilated, with a specific number that was reported in a different context) and basically creating a strawman argument (that's when people in a debate argue something the opposing side said isn't true, even though that side never said it). Which makes the fact that people who screamed about it were actually lying when they were (or supporting a lie) while they continue to take the unreliable (at the very least) Hamas numbers as gospel truth.
I've also noticed the inexplicable inflation of numbers related to Palestinians in a lot of different contexts. It's like the anti-Israel lie is never big enough, so people have to keep inflating it! There's the 33,000 fatalities claimed by Hamas which keeps being inflated by people online (I haven't seen specifically the 55,000 figure, but I have seen people constantly up the number from that claimed by Hamas).
There's the number of how many Palestinians lived in Gaza before the war. Officially, it's 2.1 million people, but then I saw people start to quote it as 2.2 million Gazans, then 2.3 million, and once I've even seen a post claiming there were 2.5 million people in Gaza before the war, I guess all in attempt to make Israel out to be a bigger monster, by exaggerating the number of people endangered and suffering due to this war.
I've also seen the number of north Gazans finding refuge in Rafah grow exponentially... Over one night (between Feb 12 and 13 according to our time zone), when Israel was rescuing 2 of its hostages held in Rafah from Hamas in a limited operation (it had to be limited in scope, so as not to alert too many terrorists to what Israel was doing, and increase the danger to the soldiers and hostages), Tumblr filled up with anti-Israel posts claiming that Israel had started bombing/has launched its ground operation in Rafah, and was nastily doing it during the Superbawl to take advantage of how distracted Americans would be (I cannot stress enough how much Israelis have no idea about the Superbawl... or American football in general). To make it all the more emotionally loaded, they kept insisting that Israel is bombing all the Gazans who found refuge in Rafah, and it's insane to see how the number of evacuees increases by hundreds of thousands over the course of just a few hours, from 1.1 million refugees in the first posts to 1.5 or 1.6 in some of the posts made later that same night.
I guess there's just no number that can't be fabricated if your goal is to turn people against the Jews...
I hope you're doing well, Nonnie! xoxox

Being labeled a Russian propagandist all day every day for criticizing US foreign policy is really weird, but one advantage it comes with is a useful perspective on what people have really been talking about all these years when they warn of the dangers of “Russian propaganda”.
I know I’m not a Russian propagandist. I’m not paid by Russia, I have no connections to Russia, and until I started this political commentary gig in 2016 I thought very little about Russia. My opinions about the western empire sometimes turn up on Russian media because I let anyone use my work who wants to, but that was always something they did on their own without my submitting it to them and without any payment or solicitation of any kind. I’m literally just some random westerner sharing political opinions on the internet; those opinions just happen to disagree with the US empire and its stories about itself and its behavior.
Yet for years I’ve watched people pointing at me as an example of what “Russian propaganda” looks like. This has helped inform my understanding of all the panic about “Russian influence” that’s been circulating these last six years, and given me some insight into how seriously it should be taken.
Tumblr media
That’s one reason why I wasn’t surprised by Matt Taibbi’s reporting on the Twitter Files revelations about Hamilton 68, an information op run by DC swamp monsters and backed by imperialist think tanks which generated hundreds if not thousands of completely bogus mainstream news reports about online Russian influence over the years.
Hamilton 68 purported to track Russian attempts to influence western thought on social media, but Twitter eventually figured out that the “Russians” the operation has been tracking were actually mostly real, mostly American accounts who just happened to say things that didn’t perfectly align with the official Beltway consensus. These accounts were often right-leaning, but also included people like Consortium News editor Joe Lauria, who’s about as far from a rightist as you can get.
They played a massive role in fanning the flames of public hysteria about online Russian influence, but while they did this by pretending to track the behavior of Russian influence ops, in reality they were tracking dissent.
One of the craziest things happening in the world today is the way westerners are being brainwashed by western propaganda into panicking about Russian propaganda, something that has no meaningful existence in the west. Before RT was shut down it was drawing a whopping 0.04 percent of the UK’s total TV audience. The much-touted Russian election interference campaign on Facebook was mostly unrelated to the election and affected “approximately 1 out of 23,000 pieces of content” according o Facebook. Research by New York University into Russian trolling behavior on Twitter in the lead-up to the 2016 election has found “no evidence of a meaningful relationship between exposure to the Russian foreign influence campaign and changes in attitudes, polarization, or voting behavior.” A study by the University of Adelaide found that despite all the warnings of Russian bots and trolls following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the overwhelming majority of inauthentic behavior on Twitter during that time was anti-Russian in nature.
Russia exerts essentially zero influence over what westerners think, yet we’re all meant to freak out about “Russian propaganda” while western oligarchs and government agencies continually hammer our minds with propaganda designed to manufacture our consent for the status quo which benefits them.
Tumblr media
All this and we’re still seeing calls for more narrative management from the western empire, like the recent American Purpose article “The Long War of Ideas” being promoted by people like Bill Kristol which calls for a resurrection of CIA culture war tactics like those used during the last cold war. Every day there’s some new liberal politician sermonizing about the need to do more to fight Russian influence and protect American minds from “disinformation”, even as we are shown over and over again that what they really want is to shut down dissident voices.
That’s what we’re seeing in the continual efforts to increase online censorship, in the bogus new “fact-checking” industry, in calls to increase the output of formal US government propaganda operations like Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Radio Free Asia, in the way all dissent about Russia has been forcefully purged from the western media in recent years, in the way empire-amplified trolling operations have been shouting down and drowning out critics of US foreign policy online, in the way censorship via algorithm has emerged as one of the major methods of restricting dissident speech.
They claim there needs to be a massive escalation in propaganda, censorship and online psyops in order to fight “Russian influence”, while the only influence operations we’re being subjected to in any meaningful way are only ever of the western variety. They just want to do more of that.
Our rulers aren’t actually worried about “Russian influence”, they’re worried about dissent. They’re worried the public won’t consent to the “great power competition” they plan to subject us to for the foreseeable future unless they can exert massive influence over our minds, because they know that otherwise we will recognize that our interests are directly harmed by the economic warfare, exploding military spending and nuclear brinkmanship which necessarily accompanies that campaign to reign in Russia and stop the rise of China.
They’re propagandizing us about the threat of foreign propaganda in order to justify propagandizing us more. We’re being manipulated into consenting to agendas that no healthy person would ever consent to without copious amounts of manipulation.

If you were making up a gang of super-villains from classic Horror Movie characters (Count Dracula is an obvious 'In' being pretty much a super villain even in his original novel!), may I please ask which characters you would include and what role they would play in the gang?
First thing to establish is that Dracula is not leading the team. And obviously Dracula’s not gonna be a team player in a supporting role, so what we’re gonna do is this: Dracula is the threat that the team was assembled to fight.
Tumblr media
Pretty much anytime you see the classic monsters gathered in any fashion, Dracula’s always the leader, and if we wanted to do that, we already have Monster Mash and Castlevania and so forth. I think assembling a Legion of Doom out of the Classic Monsters makes you particularly subject to law of diminishing returns that affect both supervillains and monsters, in that having a bunch of characters who demand to operate solo in narrative wind up greatly diminished when they're all doing the same thing together. So instead of Legion of Doom, I'm making these something more low-key like Secret Six, Thunderbolts and Suicide Squad and etc.
Here, it's all a bunch of classic monsters, but they all have a grudge with him, because everyone’s got beef with Dracula, and Dracula wants them destroyed so he may rule monsters and humans alike unopposed. Dracula is The Flash, and they are the Rogues. They bond together because it's the only way to win. Dracula is several orders of magnitude more evil than them, has countless weird magical abilities to counteract them, and he’s skilled enough in manipulation that he could conceivably trick them into doing his bidding, but he’s got no need for them past whatever unique abilities they have for momentary use, when he’s already got so much else at his disposal, including the ability to call in the universal ending to most monster stories: Call in the cops to shoot them dead.
In itself, this already gives the team a motivation to stay together regardless of what else is in the setting to give them trouble: They need to survive and beat Dracula, and they can’t call on anyone else for help. In fact, if the urge to have Dracula lead the Monster Squad again gets too strong, we could even establish that Dracula is able to create his own monsters, imperfect copies of their archetypes to serve as his enforcers, and thus, our group could have to fight off Frankensteins and mummies and werewolves and clones of themselves on their way to take him down.
Formation for this hypothetical group goes as follows:
Tumblr media
The Leader - The Bride of Frankenstein:
Couple of reasons for why she’s leader besides favoritism being, she’s a Frankenstein and thus has to play a major role, but she doesn’t need to be a shambling brute, and if we’re gonna do a ragtag group of people fighting Count Dracula, in any form, it would be quite wrong to not have them led by a headstrong, brilliant woman. Also Elsa Lanchester plays Mary Shelley in the same movie, and Mary Shelley rules so she's qualified to rule this team-up by default.
We could establish her as having had significantly more time to mature and develop into something resembling the book Creature’s intelligence and sense of self, having picked up alchemical expertise from Pretorius’ notes to combine with her survival skills, and as a Frankenstein she could have the kind of superhuman strength and endurance that follows, allowing her to be sort of a jack-of-trades suitable for the leader position.  Imposing, stoic, capable, and being a Frankenstein, crushingly lonely in more ways than one and in dire need of guidance.
The Mentor & Magician - Imhotep (The Mummy):
Because there’s no way we can pass on having Boris Karloff on this team. If The Bride is the Mina of our anti-Dracula crew, then Imhotep is our Van Helsing. Functionally similar to Dracula in many ways, but playing on a different side (definitely not on humanity’s side though). He's a prideful, manipulative grumpus from a bygone era with his glory days long behind him, with access to a wide array of magical powers, but not quite as rotten or powerful as his ancient enemy Dracula.
Imhotep has lived a long, long, long life and an exceedingly longer afterlife, constantly raised from death to be bothered by mortals again and again, which has granted him a considerable know-how of navigating strange worlds of magic and terror and history, but remaining out of touch with modern times. The team's magic user, with his main weakness being that he’s fragile and old and rotting and dying. Imhotep’s not quite able to transverse the mortal realm as easily as his rival, and he’s held back by the countless forms of decay that have set within him, which is part of why he’s agreeable enough to work with The Bride and for the two to put this team together.
The Resources & Social Interface - Janet Smith Jekyll (Daughter of Dr Jekyll):
We can't have a classic Universal Gathering without at minimum a Talbot werewolf in the mix and Jekyll & Hyde is as Classic as classic monsters get, so we're going here with Gloria Talbott's character in Daughter of Dr Jekyll, a mysterious orphan who inherits a huge mansion and fortune that used to belong to the infamous Dr Jekyll, and who discovers that she may indeed share his two-faced affliction and proclivity for going out at night on uncontrollable murderous rampages (and yes I am very much ignoring the movie's climax to make this character, shut up)
The movie sort of treats Mr Hyde as a werewolf transformation with quite a lot of vampire in the mix, which suits our purposes just fine because now we get to have a vampire on top of a werewolf in the team. She's got a cool homebase for our team to operate from in Dr Jekyll's mansion, she's super rich which never hurts to have in a team setting, she's the only one that can fully pass for human and also the one who accumulates the biggest body count the longer she stays active, so there's always some tension with her.
She is the monster most suited for operating within modern society, high and low class alike, which makes her an invaluable operative in the battle against Dracula and his game of predatory psychological class warfare, and the one most suited for keeping the team out of trouble. However, it's up to question how much can the team trust her. Even she doesn't quite know how much she can trust herself. Her teammates may not have blood, but a girl's gotta eat and all.
Tumblr media
The Reality-Warping Assassin - Cesare:
Cesare is, strange. He’s a sweet young man, but around him hangs the faint echo of dead, ancient eons. He’s unmatched at subterfuge, able to slip through the shadows not just unseen, but unheard in a way that shouldn’t be possible, as he makes absolutely no sound whatsoever, not even when he does things that should make noise, like trip or cry or stab people. On the rare occasions he vocalizes, it's like the words emerge in your head fully formed. Everything he interacts with turns colorless and frayed the way he is.
He’s able to tell the fortunes of most he meets, but only for their deaths, and if he's bothered by his own prophecy of Dracula ending the worlds of monster and man alike, he doesn't show it. The world around him seems to occasionally warp into strange angles and crooked architecture and thick, tangible shadows, and it’s difficult to tell if any of it is even his doing in the first place. He also has an unusually intense grudge of clowns and hamburguers
He seems to sleep most of the time off-duty, and he’s docile as a lamb even while commanded to kill, though he may resist more immoral commands. Though his eyes hang open, he only wakes up very rarely, and when he does, the monsters see the world around him blink out of existence to be replaced with a greyed out mental hospital, where they all look like doctors or regular people in straightjackets, and it only lasts for a few brief, maddening seconds before he falls asleep again.
This can be an advantage to the team as a potential safeguard from threats and space to regroup, provided they don’t lose their selves and can get Cesare to stop playing with the flowers and go back to sleep, and you can imagine it only gets harder every time, convincing him to abandon a peaceful existence to once again be a murderous slave for eternity, and maybe convincing themselves to not join him there.
Better he’s on our side than Dracula’s, The Bride and Imhotep figure.
The Warrior-Healer & Aquatic Specialist: The Gill Man
I already said much of my piece on The Gill Man in terms of their role and personality here and obviously, they gotta be in the team. In terms of their powers & skillset, Gill Man is actually much better suited for this kind of stuff than most of the other Universal monsters. They are strong enough to move boats on their own, stealthy enough to consistently evade his human pursuers (and human civilization for countless years) and tough enough to survive and come back for two sequels.
Another idea to me comes from using The Shape of Water and it’s take on Gill Man, who was believed to be an Amazonian river god, and throughout the movie displays magical healing powers and traits that call into question just what it is exactly. Dracula would certainly find no use for The Gill Man as anything other than muscle for his army of the undead, but for a team that does have at least a handful of living members and may even depend on human assistance, a medic is a invaluable thing to have, as is someone still living and in touch with nature.
The Scientist & Swarm Controller: Doctor Delambre (The Fly)
Picked here to represent the original version of The Fly but can also adapt traits from Seth Brundle and other takes on this idea. We need a resident mad scientist (who's really not a mad scientist, but when you look the part, y'know), a sci-fi guy to represent that other vein of classic horror, somebody who can contrast the resident magicians and alchemists, and also no self-respecting team is complete without a bug guy, so here we have Dr Delambre, who joins the team as an assistant to The Bride and has found a way to hold off the mental decay process and made substantial progress on his matter-transporter devices as well as find ways to live with his newfound biological quirks. He's even found a way to utilize insects with humanoid limbs and intelligence in daily chores and missions, although he resents the idea that he's "controlling" them, mind you.
But with his wife under trial for his botched suicide ruled a murder, and his inability to show up in society and testify in her favor, and all of his former military contacts having cut off all ties with him, he's desperately trying to find a way to reverse the process of his transformation for good to save her and is willing to do whatever it takes. Doctor Delambre even winds up being sort of the team's wild card, because his technology is very potent and just as capable of breaking reality under the wrong hands as Cesare's weirdness, but he is not a "monster" by birth or choice and is merely a guy in a rush to try and revert his condition, and if Dracula comes along with a better promise to save his wife and life, perhaps...
And last but certainly not least,
The Transportation & Muscle - The Rhedosaurus (The Beast from 20.000 Fathoms)
Tumblr media
We might have to shrink them down a bit but we absolutely can’t NOT have a giant monster dinosaur on the team, but neither Godzilla nor Kong would have much business palling around with these monsters. The Rhedosaurus, on the other hand, is a perfect fit, seeing as he’s Godzilla’s inspiration and the movie he’s in is credited as being the revival of the giant monster genre as well as the first to introduce the atomic bomb to the mix. The Rhedosaurus here would be sort of composited from the movie version as well as the original story by Ray Bradbury and obviously composited from Godzilla variants and the Toho kaijus who owe their existence to it, a vicious and violent creature defending itself and one that's deeply lonely and desperate and strangely noble as the last of it’s kind, one that has nothing else to help protect it but these strange not-humans it’s formed an unlikely bond with. It has a particularly strong bond with The Gill Man, the only one who’s able to communicate with and steer it properly.
The Rhedosaurus is a global danger on a bigger and more direct scale than the other monsters, not just as a giant powerful dinosaur, but also a creature whose death could unleash a plague powerful enough to wipe out mankind, something the characters wouldn’t discover until late into the story (something Dracula, and maybe even Imhotep, would certainly want to exploit for personal gain). Maybe this radiation seeps over and forces the team to move their location around to stay undetected, maybe it's instrumental to powering whatever plans Dr Delambre and The Bride are cooking up in their lab, maybe it's affecting the environment or reality itself in strange unforeseen ways the way certain Godzilla works like KOTM and Singular Point have done.
It can be the key to saving the world or destroying it in equal measure, and so the fate of the Rhedosaurus is the fate of the future, and it falls up to the team to protect it as much as it will protect them.
So yeah, maybe I took this from a super-villain team and made it something a lot more League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in setup, but this team I imagine is grouped together less by a desire to save the world or serve a higher cause, than a simple matter of survival against a mutual enemy and the world that''s turned against them. They want drastically different things and employ drastically different methods and they each constitute powerful threats, and together, they are as likely to destroy themselves first if not the world with them. But survival is a matter they all have a stake on. Alone, they don’t stand a chance. Together, they may just have a chance and live, if only to finally rest in peace.

Hello! I read through the Wicked Ones rpg and really enjoyed it. Do you have any recommendations for games where you play as the bad guys? Preferably larger books.
THEME: Bad Guys
Hello friend! From monsters to villains to just plain ol’ bad dudes, let’s see what we got. I tried to stay away from one-page RPGs, but I can’t guarantee how long some of these books will be.

SLA Industries, 2nd Edition, by Nightfall Games.
In the World of Progress, the corporation SLA Industries rules all. Employing Operatives to enforce, extend and maintain their power base, SLA controls a multitude of worlds - industrial, franchise and resource - with planet Mort at its core. As Operatives execute the company’s will, new threats emerge through the cracks of the city walls, turning Downtown into a battleground.
You, the SLA Operative, are fighting for fame and fortune against a backdrop of a crumbling reality. Operatives feed the always-on televisions with a gaudy media of wall-to-wall death and dismemberment. Operative life is all about climbing the corporate ladder and earning sponsorship deals and notoriety along the way.
In SLA Industries, you’re not exactly villains, but you’re not good people either. You work for an evil corporation, in a world of evil corporations, and you’re extending their reach for a chance to climb the corporate ladder. SLA Industries is reminiscent of trad games in terms of its complexity; character creation consists of spending points to improve abilities, and you can improve some of your character abilities by introducing flaws in other areas. Because of the roots in its game design, I’d expect a longer book to read through here.
If you want to learn more about this game, you can check out the game review for it on Cannibal Halfling Games!
Seven Deadly Sirens, by Litza Bronwyn.
In this game, you play one of seven types of mermaids and roll with seven deadly sins to power your basic and special moves in order to summon ships, lure men to you, devour their hearts, and collect their treasures. Fun, flirty, indulgent, and a little chaotic, this game is perfect for a night of raucous debauchery or an afternoon of silly adventuring.
This game is definitely on the shorter side, but I really really like the idea of using seven deadly sins as your source of power. This game is Powered by the Apocalypse, so expect something interesting to happen even with every dice roll. Unlike common PbtA games, you pick from a communal list of moves to define your character, rather than picking a playbook. The core loop of this game will involve luring men off of boats, killing them and raiding the boats for treasure.
Here, there be Monsters! By Wendi Yu.
here, there, be monsters! is a rules-lite response to monster-hunting media from the monsters' point of view. It's both a love letter and a middle finger to stuff like Hellboy (and the BPRD), the SCP Foundation, the Men in Black, the World of Darkness games and the Urban Fantasy genre in general. It is an explicitly queer, antifascist and anti-capitalist game about the monstrous and the weird, in any flavor you want, not as something to be feared, but to be cherished and protected.
Play as a diverse crew of monstrous, anomalous or just generally odd beings, fighting against those who would use, abuse or even annihilate you. Create and populate your own supernatural underworld, abnormal gang and extra-dimensional haven. Hunt monster hunters! Punch nazi occultists! Eat the rich! Protect each other! Fight back! Here, there, be monsters!
This is 164 pages of monstrous fun, in which your characters are likely treated like bad guys by the society around them, even if they’re not really villainous themselves. It gives you a chance to revel in your monstrosity, with 100 pre-made character backgrounds for you to peruse. One content warning: there is quite a bit of art revolving about bodies, in various forms (this is a monster game, after all). This isn’t meant to detract from the work - in fact, it perfectly communicates the tone of the game - but it is something you should be aware of before you buy.
Blood and Sacrilege, by Tom Clark.
In a Dark Fantasy setting based on the Early Middle Ages of England (The Dark Ages), you play as a brood of vampires bent on toppling the humans’ reign over Brackenstow. Here you'll find a country ruled by mortals, with vampires lurking in the shadows of society. It wasn’t always this way though; vampires founded Brackenstow and after a hard fought war, lost it to the mortals they once enslaved.
Nearly a century after the vampires were defeated, legal rights to the kingdom are still squabbled over by the country's self-proclaimed leaders while bishops and ministers fight for their own influential positions. The vampire threat looms on the horizon… But the power vacuum left by a leaderless kingdom has taken it's toll on the stability of the land, leading to civil unrest and the more immediate danger of war.
Now, with humans on the brink of societal collapse, the vampires peer out from the dark, and the broods that have laid in wait for so many decades start to execute their long-laid plans.
This looks like a game still in the works, but it sure looks promising. As long-defeated creatures of the night, you see a chance to take back a kingdom you once owned. Forged in the Dark games are all about projects that the group has to work consistently at in order to succeed, so expect plenty to read, especially if it’s inside such an established setting.
Villainous Fucks, by Keganexe (@keganexe)
Villainous Fucks is a tabletop roleplaying game designed for 2-6 players, about doing petty crimes as The League of Villainous Fucks, and ruining the day of Superheroes and Cops alike (and truly what's the difference). Villainous Fucks runs on Spencer Campbells incredible LUMEN System, and is inspired by the best Villains across media. LUMEN is designed for quick, tactical combat, and Villainous Fucks dials it up to 11 for the best in zany comic book style action.
If you are interested in ruining the day of do-gooders in over-the-top comic book action, and if you like your combat to be satisfying and punchy, you want Villainous Fucks. Instead of skills, LUMEN uses approaches: how your character does something is more important than what exactly they do. Is your villain Brutal, Cunning or Quick? My favourite little tidbit from Villainous Fucks is the characters’ stance on Cops. Villains believe that All Cops are Bastards, and All Superheroes are Cops. If you like revelling in doing crimes, then this is absolutely worth checking out.
Games I’ve Recommended Before
Monsterhearts 2, by Avery Alder. (Teenagers with great monstrous potential)
Spire: The City Must Fall, by Rowan Rook & Decard. (You’re sympathetic terrorists, but you’re still terrorists.)
This former request that asked about playing mind flayers and similar monsters.

zone of interest: good film, deserves all the awards it's getting. the film-maker's video art installation background really shines through, lots of long static shots, repetition, creative manipulation of the type of recording used. The praise the sound design got is also very well deserved.
an interesting aspect is the depiction of Mrs Hoss' mother. She is of course an anti-semite and nazi, but i think uniquely within the film she feels the need to articulate her anti-semitism with reference to the jewish woman who used to hire her as a cleaner, how she took part in the "street auction" for this woman's personal possessions and is only disappointed that she got outbid for her curtains. It's like she has to prove her legitimacy to her daughter. On the other hand, for the Hosses the holocaust is simply the thing that they are doing -- they don't need to find a way to morally justify it. They are not bothered by the sounds of industrial slaughter, unlike this pathetic old woman; she approaches antisemitism as something external to her, which she has entered into; for them it is something that they are the bearers of, the theory which structures the world and which they are putting into practice. There is an important point about how ideologies operate and can evolve, and not only racist ideologies.
i don't think it's exactly saying anything new, but it's an accesable depiction of the concept of the banality of evil. Of course the commandant of auschwitz is both a monster and a normal person, with his monstrousness grounded in his normalcy, and the same is true of his wife. The actress playing Mrs Hoss is especially good at depicting this. An early scene is her trying on clothes taken from the new arrivals at the camp -- this isn't the story about repression which i was basically expecting. She knows what's going on, the kids know what's going on, but for all of them it's just a part of life -- part of the process of building their new life in the east, ugly because it's not yet complete, like the vines she's planted to grow over one part of the garden. And of course we have the high-level management meeting discussing the extermination of the jews of hugary, the form of which will be familiar to anyone who's attended a management meeting.
These peop|e did not shock me exactly, but they did disgust me. What it actually put me in mind of was the mindset of a terrorist: such people, carrying out this industrial slaughter with a smug self-confidence, should be made to die. If that would mean hurting their kids in the process, so be it. The disguting nature of their existence in the world is such that some innocent deaths would be a price worth paying to remove them from it. Given the affect of the film -- it's clearly meant to induce a sense of brechtian alienation, drawing deliberate attention to its status as a film -- acheiving this emotional outcome is a remarkable acheivement.

The intense fighting continues in the depth of Khan Yunis: the combat teams of the 98th Division eliminate dozens of terrorists and attack terrorist infrastructures
Air Force fighter jets directed by the fire center of the 98th Division carried out airstrikes against dozens of targets: operational apartments, ammunition depots, observation posts and gathering points for terrorists.
The fighters of the combat team of the paratrooper brigade identified five terrorists entering a military structure of the organization. The fighters directed an aircraft that attacked and eliminated the five terrorists who were in the building.
Fighters of the Magellan unit identified a squad of four terrorists that fired an anti-tank missile at the forces a few hours earlier, the fighters directed a fighter jet and aircraft that attacked and eliminated the squad. In other battles in the area, the fighters eliminated several more terrorists.
The fighters of the battle team of the Givati Brigade eliminated a squad of six terrorists who threatened the troops with the help of tank gunners and snipers.
In the north of the Gaza Strip, the combat team of the 5th Brigade, in cooperation with the Air Force, attacked terrorist infrastructures of the terrorist organization Hamas.
The fighter jets attacked a trapped structure as well as a military structure, an anti-tank position and an operational shaft and the fighters of the brigade eliminated a number of terrorists by firing tanks and targeting aircraft.
During the night, the Navy fighters attacked targets and provided fire support along the coastline in the Gaza Strip, as part of an aid effort to the forces of the Nahal Brigade's combat team maneuvering in the Strip.
The encirclement of Khan Yunis shows that the second largest city in Gaza, with about 250,000 people, is actually a Hamas stronghold.
If you divide the amount of weapons seized there by the number of buildings in the city, it means that there is a weapon in every other apartment.
This means that it is not really a city, but a military base that houses some civilians.
This means that a monster of historical magnitude grew here and we didn't know it.

What can we do against monsters?
This has been something that I have been thinking deeply about for a few days now, and it's been a few days not because the news broke, but because I was one of the first people to see it.
And that's because Aaron Bushnell had watched my content, my friends and comrades' content, and supported us. I saw the video of him calmly, bravely, stepping into a storm of flames that would ultimately kill him to bring attention to others on the other side of the ocean who were dying in similar and worse ways, on the very day that he did it. On the Twitch channel he streamed it on. Another member of my community had brought the account to my attention, and I recognised the name, and a corresponding youtube channel.
To be frank, my first thoughts were "why? you could have done anything but this! why?" I'm sure many of us can relate to this.
But recently it has hit me.
A person, who by all accounts of what information I can find online, was a closeted trans person (he used he/she pronouns in other discords I shared with her, and overwhelmingly went by the name of "Lilly" on her youtube and twitch and discord accounts) who was in the US Air Force, an organisation that has indeed in the past simply disappeared individuals who express any sentiments that their operations are unjust or evil, who knew in fact that one day soon, she may be sent to murder innocent Gazans in one of the most despicable genocides in recent history.
Perhaps she had already been forced to participate in it. From what we know, she didn't appear to have been directly involved in the genocide.
https://www.kenklippenstein.com/p/what-aaron-bushnell-did-in-the-military
But she ultimately felt complicit in a way that demanded action.
So what were Aaron/Lilly's options? Sedition? Traitorism? Perhaps it simply wasn't in her nature to want anyone to die. Perhaps she had already been forced to kill people indirectly and didn't want anyone else to, no matter how complicit they were in the murder of the colonised Palestinians. These are unknowns. But what we do know is that she completed one of the most radical and extreme acts of protest possible. She joins a long list of self-immolated martyrs of many struggles.
And to be clear here, I do not use the word martyr here flippantly. The countless Yemeni and Palestinian voices who have called her that, and awarded her many other honourable accolades including being publicly honoured in Sana'a, Yemen, yesterday (February 27th, 2024), confirm that this is how colonised and oppresssed people view her as part of their struggle.

https://x.com/BIG__Brother7/status/1762090633873752093?s=20
Not just Palestinians, but globally, multiple anti-imperialist nations' representatives have expresssed a deep love and respect for her actions.
https://x.com/upholdreality/status/1762275594622943430?s=20
https://x.com/magne_toes/status/1762219467507945956?s=20
https://x.com/evoespueblo/status/1762588988445962341?s=20
It is only really white western imperialists who do not understand the act of self-immolation as an act of protest. From the endlessly proselytising zionist fascists who are celebrating another dead supporter of Palestine, to the moronic liberal desperation we've seen focusing on individualist and poorly understood anti-abolitionist mental health based criticisms: they simply do not understand what this means. What it represents.
I would encourage people to read the information available about Thich Quang Duc, the Vietnamese buddhist monk who famously self-immolated in protest of the colonising of his homeland in 1963. It sent shockwaves around the world, just as Aaron/Lilly's death has and will continue to do.
Thich Quang Duc's heart refused to burn to ashes even on a second cremation attempt of his remains, and is now displayed as a holy relic in Vietnam.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Th%C3%ADch_Qu%E1%BA%A3ng_%C4%90%E1%BB%A9c
I wonder if Aaron/Lilly's heart would be given the same attention by her funeral organisers. I believe her heart, and the heart of everyone who engaged in such an act in the past for righteous causes are simply indestructible. Wherever it is, may it bless all those who come near and remind them of what she died for. These people were too kind and sweet for this world and the permanence of their remains is an testament to that.
Aaron/Lilly's friends have all commented on how sweet and kind and caring she was, and how  dedicated she was to the cause of liberation and anti-colonialism worldwide. There is nothing bad that can be said about her, even in the long aftermath of her death. She was simply human, in a world that is deeply, deeply inhuman.
She was up against monsters. Monsters that cannot be slain by ordinary means. Monsters that are many headed, can regenerate, and duplicate. Powerful demons that control our world and wreak havoc and pain and suffering wherever they choose to plunder, as greed is at their heart.
She acted in a way that she felt was the only way that she could. Her hand was inarguably forced, to do the one desperate thing she could to draw attention to what is happening.
May her spirit soar in the halls of our ancestors and rest easy knowing that we are all completely in awe of her bravery, dedication and solidarity.
I want to make some things clear at the end of this post however.
I have stated this on my twitter, and on my stream, but it bears repeating here. While I think this needed to be addressed in an appropriate way, and I stand by everything I have said above, I do not want anyone else to do this. I do not believe this is something that we have to do in order to make change happen.
I have always said that the need for non-violent building of power takes precedent over every single action that is done or proposed here in the imperial core. The fact of reality is that capitalism and imperialism are failing. It will soon come to a head where these violent machines will fail to work, or simply be abandoned by those who operate them. It is at that point that we absolutely necessarily must have a support network of power that means we can survive outside of that system and create a new world of fairness where everyone has what they need to survive and no one suffers harm and discrimination. I stand firm in my position that we can build this world together.
I want this world desperately. I want a world where people like Aaron/Lilly do not feel so desperate to do something so valiant and self-destructive because they have no other option.
So my final word on this matter is this.
We must continue to fight for this world and build it in her memory and honour. Not only is it what she would have wanted, it is what she died for.
Mourn the dead. And fight like hell for the living.

Preliminary Poll
Lotor
Tumblr media
Submission reason:
It's been a hot while but I'm pretty sure he had a sudden personality switch and was then left to die & the show then focused on redeeming his abusive mom (I support womens wrongs usually but come on. That was just in poor taste)
It's been a while since I watched it, but the general gist was that, though it seemed like Lotor was heading for a Zuko-esque redemption arc, the show ended up retroactively revealing that he'd done some unforgivable war-crime level stuff (and then killed him off).
They spent all that time building him up as a sympathetic abuse victim who contrasts with the more outright evil antagonists, only to randomly make him crazy and kill him off unceremoniously at the end of a season. Then they had the absolute audacity to give a redemption arc to his neglectful evil scientist mother. The disrespect!!!
When he was first introduced, he was this sort of anti-villain seeking to supplant his shitty comatose dad and reform the Galra Empire. He wanted to make things better for Galra-Alien hybrids like himself, even having a badass team of warrior women as his primary followers, and stopped at nothing to attain that goal. When Emperor Zarkon awoke and declared Prince Lotor a traitor to the empire, Lotor joined the Voltron team as an ally, forming a truly gorgeous relationship with Princess Allura along the way. Like, they had actual chemistry, with narrative parallels and some really good body language to show the interest was indeed mutual and affectionate. However, as soon as he killed his dad for the Voltron team, the narrative took a nosedive and turned Lotor into a people-harvesting madman seeking to take over the universe as an even worse tyrant than Zarkon, leading to him getting killed off unceremoniously. Lotor was probably the most deeply nuanced character the show had ever approached, alongside Shiro, and even then they completely dropped the ball and went back on all that character development, seemingly just to clear the way for Allura to briefly share a sauceless relationship with Lance before getting killed off herself, and give the sympathetic villain role over to his abusive mom Haggar, who is significantly less relatable and much more shitty than he ever was before they retconned him into being evil.
Propaganda:
He's an extremely tall (like 7 feet I'm pretty sure??) purple space elf with Legolas hair. Draw your own nsfw conclusions from that. Also he has daddy issues. And mommy issues.
Lotor is great! I was a huge fan of him during his first season or two. He definitely operated in a moral grey area that involved a lot of underhanded tactics, but he still remained a sympathetic character in his motivations (and had one of those classic tragic backstories that always makes you want good things for a character). He led a team of four female generals where all of them, including Lotor himself, were societal outcasts. It originally seemed like he placed a lot of faith in them, and there was a really cool ""power of friendship but evil"" vibe. Lotor even switched sides and started making friends with the protagonists, so I think towards the end most people were guessing he'd get some sort of redemption arc. I remember watching the episode where they revealed his space-war crimes and killed him off and going. huh. that was like. a fever dream, right? They didn't actually just turn this cool morally complex character into an unforgivable monster, right???? Like, I'm generally really cool with bad writing and iffy characterization--that's what fic is for!--but Lotor's whole thing was on another level. He got run through the blorbo blender fr
Princess Allura probably counts for this too, considering how she got red-stringed into dating Lance after seeing her last boyfriend go nuts and die, and then got dragged into a heroic sacrifice with very little setup. Also, Lotor's whole arc before the switcheroo was broadly seen as a good allegory for children from interracial relationships being isolated from both of their parents' cultures, as well as a child growing up under abusive circumstances overcoming their abuse and building a life for themselves above their upbringing. It could have been so good. But they seemed far more interested in this hollow tragic villain setup for Haggar and this similarly lifeless dating arc with Lance than going through with the better option.

i know we talk about fanon sometimes like it's a monolith, but actually i have an argument that the fanon(tm) is actually a little more diverse than we think sometimes and i say this because i have categorized and subtyped the various different kinds.
so to start, we have two broad categories: category 1//pre-ethiopia fanon and category 2//post-ethiopia fanon. pre-ethiopia canon is by and large much more simple and straightforward. post-ethiopia is where we start to see more variety and different subtypes.
tim:
pre-ethiopia: probably skipped two grades. bad parents jack and janet simultaneously care immensely about both tim taking over the company one day and also don't care at all about ensuring their son actually survives until adulthood to do so. survival of the fittest, baby, you're a failure of an heir if you can't use the stove independently by age 4. free space of "criminal neglect" being mentioned at some point. camera stalker to the point where he has batman's patrol routes memorized. jason is definitely his idol.
post-ethiopia: subtype (a)//robin: bad parents jack and janet remain (even though janet should have died years ago), leaving tim all alone in the cold drake manor. this 15 year old, rather than reveling in this independence allowing him more freedom to do robin without having to worry about his parents, is immensely sad about this state of affairs. bruce probably hates him for not being jason. jason hates him until he realizes that tim is "just a kid" who has "bad parents" and needs to be saved. physical abuse from his dad highly likely. most likely jason is his idol, but there may be some mention about how much he loves dick. subtype (b)//red robin: addicted to coffee, hasn't slept in weeks. everyone in the batfamily simultaneously hates him and depends on him to keep the entire operation running without any thanks or recognition. nobody loves him, definitely thinks he's not part of the family. they will have to prostrate themselves when they realize the damage they've done to him. subtype (c)//the jerk: a far rarer type of fanon, but still fanon all the same. this subtype is the anti-tim fanon, a backlash fanon, where basically all of tim's bad traits are amplified to the point where he is borderline sociopathic, doesn't really have any sympathy or care for anyone else, and is so super judgemental and snotty to the point that yes, he is no longer recognizable as tim drake and this is officially a fanon. and not that tim doesn't ever show bad traits in canon (he is flawed, like all of them), but really. he does care about other people immensely. he cares about gotham immensely. they all do. even if chuck dixon used him for heavy-handed conservative messages in the 90s, these aren't, like, enduring character traits. most likely to be seen if we're trying to promote another batboy who is getting woobified.
jason:
pre-ethiopia: the only panels that matter are "robin gives me magic" and anything that implies a love of school/good grades. no negative traits, if we give him any negative traits then we are feeding into the idea that he was a "bad" robin just like dc tries to do. so, so focused on the victims and downtrodden of gotham (probably more than dick ever did) which is why tim admires him so much. he is Of The City. immediately zeros in on tim as a victim of terrible parents. ever kind and understanding and sympathetic. a true champion of the people. calls bruce dad, hyphenated his last name. calls dick "dickhead" as a term of loving endearment and dick is seemingly okay with this.
post-ethiopia: subtype (a)//red hood: lazarus pit madness, baby. not at fault for anything he did, it was all the pit. once the anger fades, he realizes that he has turned into the monster who killed him and he feels great shame for this, has to make amends (most likely to tim, for titans tower). subtype (b)//sadboy jason: woobified jason is just sad :( his dad didn't love him, his brother didn't love him, they replaced him. he just wants to go home, desperately. the batfamily must make amends for not grieving him well enough/let him know how much they love and miss him and then he can go home. highly likely was damian's beloved brother in the league and considered talia his mom.
dick:
pre-ethiopia: only eats cereal. comes home every weekend to do his laundry (u know what, good on u dick. i too went home a lot of weekends after i moved out so i wouldn't have to pay for coin laundry at my apartment complex. it's called being smart and strategic.) and hang out with his dad, bruce, and little brother, jason. also has a hyphenated last name. a little dim. always happy. all about the hugs.
post-ethiopia: subtype (a)//nightwing: is allowed to be a good brother to tim, but will never be tim's favorite. feels immensely guilty about how terribly he treated jason as robin, must make amends for this. very bland personality. subtype (b)//post-dickbats: devil incarnate. plays favorites with his brothers and has room in his heart to only love two (neither of which are tim), that is until he realizes how badly he has treated tim and feels immensely bad and guilty that he's ignored tim for so long and then is finally able to redeem himself. probably threatened tim with arkham and told everyone tim was nuts. subtype (c)//dick actually gets to be woobified for once: on rare occasion, dick gets to be the one who gets constantly downtrodden and used by his siblings even if this isn't actually really super in character for them. like i said, super rare. usually seen so that dick can lose his temper at his siblings who are being immature jerks for no reason. cathartic if you're tired of dick being beat down by the writers at dc, but still fanon imo because you have to rely on someone (usually tim) acting more out of character and far more immature towards dick than normal canon and more fanon-y relationship dynamics (such as tim & damian constantly fighting and really hating each other) to get to this point. ....will kind of infantilize an adult man in his mid-twenties.
damian:
pre-ethiopia: actually gets two subtypes!! subtype (a)//doesn't exist: damian who? subtype (b)//young child: we bring him in as a 3 year old, and he's basically a totally different character. probably only meaningful character trait is total adoration for his older brothers.
post-ethiopia: subtype (a)//meanest child in the world: hates tim, is actively trying to murder him constantly and make sure that tim knows he is not a wayne/not welcome in the family. revels in having successfully stolen all of dick's love and attention. no character growth and all the adults just let him be mean without addressing the behavior, everything gets handwaved because of how he was brought up, but it's clear he knows right from wrong and is specifically choosing to do wrong. subtype (b)//he's just a 10 year old, so we have to treat him like *checks notes* a 5 year old: actually incapable of knowing right from wrong because of his upbringing, and he can't be at fault or responsible for any of his behavior because he's only 10 years old, and 10 year olds are too young to know any better when they've grown up in the league, despite extensive education on all subjects growing up likely including philosophy and morality. likely to be the woobified and infantilized one here. needs to be treated like a 3 year old with kid gloves because he's just a kid, after all. when he realizes he is "bad", he is very depressed and sad. often has no knowledge of the outside world, must be taught by his ever patient and loving brothers.

hey, are you Israeli/do you speak Hebrew? what is Israeli media saying about how Netanyahu has handled relations with the US? or at least his decision to cancel the DC trip after the UN vote?
Hi Nonnie!
I am, and I do. But I'm not sure how well I can reply to you. You know that joke about how, if you ask 2 Jews about something, you'll get at least 3 opinions? Yeah, so imagine the range of opinions, many of them contradicting each other, in a state full of Jews. Add to that the opinions of non-Jewish Israelis, which also have a variety of view points. Now imagine the opinions expressed by those who end up working in the media, meaning the most opinionated and outspoken ones. IDK that I can condense it all into one coherent reply.
But basically, any opinion you can imagine, someone expressed it. I will say that most did seem more upset with the US, for allowing what's seen as an anti-Israeli resolution to pass at the UN unvetoed, because the harm from that is real, massive, and could affect us for years, maybe even in ways we can't yet foresee. So keeping in mind that the UN resolution is harmful to Israel, and that the US was absolutely making a political point by allowing it to pass, most understand Netanyahu's reaction in that context.
That said, even with that context in mind, there were a lot of different opinions and reactions on whether it was the right move.
Personally, I do not like Netanyahu and have never voted for him. I used to dislike him because I thought he was anti-peace. It took me time, but I realize that actually, the biggest issue with him is that more than anything else, he wants to stay in power. He doesn't actually have (IMO) an ideological spine. At the same time, I won't demonize him, either. I very much hold him to be the person responsible for a lot of terrible things that have happened to Israel, to a great degree because he chooses to believe that if something didn't go wrong so far despite him not doing anything about it, then it will continue that way and he can go on ignoring it, but I don't believe that he would actually willingly sacrifice masses of Israeli civilians just for his own sake. In other words, I do think he is guilty of neglecting many things until they get to the point where people pay with their lives (while convincing himself it won't get to that), but I don't think he's an unfeeling monster who will intentionally get people killed.
So... let's put it this way. I was not surprised he canceled the trip, and I was not surprised that he re-instated it about a week later.
The trip had to happen, because a total break in communications is against Israel's interests, and becuase Israeli and American officials sitting together in person to talk about the Rafah operation is the best way to figure out an action plan that fits both. It was therefore in Netanyahu's interest for the trip to happen, but also in his interest to take some stand, and show the White House that their UN move is very upsetting to Israelis, enough for even him not to ignore.
I hope this kind of helps! xoxox

servant guda summoned in a holy grail war
caster guda who seems to have the most obvious class. the more generations come, the more a story changes - of course the savior of humanity would be a brilliant caster. but no, they aren't your typical mage. they use an advanced form of projection magic, making them the perfect decoy. they switch between a sharp red bow, a silver broadsword, and oddly, a yellow paw shaped club. when caster activates their noble phantasm, their arms glow in strange patterns of gold. an anti demon measure that can be used best with a command spell: ars exitio daemoniorum.
rider guda who laments their class. they have the worst mount, a giant tank they call the shadow border. they claim to not even know how to operate it - but it's not like you could get around in it without gaining a crowd. rider’s version is externally smaller than the original and has no access to the paper moon. with practice they manage to condense it into a motorcycle nicknamed shadow bear. it growls at you when you try to touch it and zaps when you stand too close. that chrome colored monster is scarier than its user…
assassin guda who comes wrapped in a black cloak a bit too broad for their shoulders. "just because i can technically shoot a target," they whine, "doesn’t mean this should be my class!" though an assassin, they are no good at covert ops. their method is guns blazing - literally. their primary is a semiautomatic firearm lovingly called calico. paired with their scope farflier, which can serve not only as an aim assistant but can sense their target. they say they trained under the warrior goddess scáthach. you don’t believe them until you have nightmares - memories. you are on a shooting range getting hit over the head by an intense fuchsia haired woman when you miss a target. you don’t ask about those.
berserker guda who is startling normal. something in your gut says this is wrong. when you ask if they really are a berserker, they shrug and smile. you see their madness when they let loose in battle. they are virtually unkillable. they will keep going until the head is separated from their body. they were loved deeply by death in life - it still follows them like a loving specter, as part of their soul. otherside blessing is what they call it. a warning for berserker's future or current master; occasionally they might slip up and call you “doctor”. please ignore this mistake.
avenger guda who never existed in the first place. they are older, tall, with piercing red eyes. they move silently like a serpent. it's hard to detect their presence, even for their master. their katana is stained crimson that doesn't scrub off. but the blade never rusts. they wield an anti-world noble phantasm: dreams end, lostbelt. they deeply love this world and will do anything to protect it. they will put an end to this war. no one needs a tool so destructive. the deaths of millions are on their shoulders, what more should twelve bodies be?

MASS EFFECT
Commander Jane 'FemShep' Sheppard
Tumblr media
Jane Shepard is a no-nonsense military woman. Captain of the Normandy, she is a Spectre. Above the law, dealing with the galaxy's deadliest threats. A mix of paragon and renegade, she will kick your ass if you are racist to one of her crew but also be more than happy to joke over some drinks at an Asari strip club
Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy
Tumblr media
Tali is a Quarian. A race of Space nomads forced from their home from the AI known as the Geth, and intergalactic law screwing them over. She is so sweet and kind, a brilliant engineer and more than deadly with a shotgun
Miranda Laweson
Tumblr media
Miranda Lawson, made/cloned to be genetically perfect by her father. She escaped his clutches to try and live her own life. Confident in her sex appeal, she is a powerful biotic (basically space wizard/psychic) and takes no one's shit
Kasumi Goto
Tumblr media
Kasumi is the galaxy's greatest thief. With tech to make her almost completely invisible to sight, sound and any type of vision imaginable. She is basically a space ninja. She is a fun playful tease who does what she wants as she pleases, because why not?

NiER
NiER REPLICANT
Kaine
Tumblr media
Kaine is the deuteragonist of NiER Replicant. To put it simply, she is a brash and agressive woman with no filter and is more than happy to swear up a storm.
She dresses provocitavly for a reason, to emphasise her feminine attributes as she is intersex canonically. Most people seeing her as a freak or a monster for the (again, canonically, very large) member she has.
NiER AUTOMATA
YoRHa Unit 2B
Tumblr media
The Battler style unit with the Type 2 personality. Battler's are masters of close and long range weapons, swords and guns. (2B is extra good at this as her designation is not actually 2B, but 2E. An executioner model. E types being the most advanced and combat focused of all YoRHa units)
She is very cold and serious, but by choice. Trying to force down her emotions as to not feel the hurt with the dealth of her allies. As when an Android dies, if their memory is not backed up, who they 'were' dies.
A loyal member of the YoRHa but she deeply wishes to experiance happyness and humanity.
YoRHa Unit 9S
Tumblr media
A scanner type Yorha unit with the type 9 personality. Very curious and eager to learn, facinated by humans and their... everything.
9S is a very submissive femboy character in my writing.
Commander White
Tumblr media
Commander White is the... well... the Commander of the YoRHa organisation. 2B, 9S and so many others superior.
A very strict and serious woman who hides her inner caring and guilt as she is unable to give her soldiers the support they need
YoRHa Unit A2
Tumblr media
An older Attacker unit with the type 2 personality. (attackers are ebst at close range combat, usually with swords)
Originally shy and timid, average was the best word to describe her, A2 did not die when she was expected to. Being declaired a trator at that. And so A2 did battle, survived, killing machine and android alike to survive.
YoRHa Unit 2P
Tumblr media
A clone of 2B made by the machines. A very dominant, confident and powerful being. She is confidence on legs, not scared to cut down or humilate any who talk to her with a dismissive glance at best.
Her name, 2P, is based off a '2nd Player' for video games, the type P apparently exists in canon. As such I belive P stands for Paladin, all of the skills of the type A (attacker) units as well as the type D (defender) units.
YoRHa Unit Operator 6O
Tumblr media
Operator 6O is a very sweet and cheerful girl. An Operator Unit asigned to 2B, she is 2B's mission control... and arguably only/best friend. Curious and happy about humanity and the world long lost, she is a cheerful ball of sunshine
YoRHa Unit Operator 21O
Tumblr media
21O is the opperator Unit assigned to 9S and acts as his big sister/mother figure, stopping him from getting too absorbed in hus curiosity and making sure he follows the rules. Stern and serious, she makes sure the job is done as she works as 9S' mission control
.HACK//GU

Tumblr media
Alkaid/ Chika Kuramoto
