Guys, please please please don’t use the term CSEM to refer to fictional pornographic drawings that involve fictional characters who are depicted as minors

I can’t believe I have to say this, but I’ve seen too many people, just in the past 24 hours, use the term to describe porn that someone drew

Holy shit, lolicon and the like is not CSEM, CSAM, or CP just because a hypothetical and fictional minor is involved in the art. Those terms are specifically used when talking about real sexual abuse cases involving real-world minors.

Fiction cannot be CSEM because it doesn’t involve the direct sexual exploitation and abuse of a real minor! The creation of these pieces of media do not involve the direct harm of a real minor!

Just say “lolicon” or “fictional porn involving fictional minors”. Just use something, ANYTHING, that isn’t used to specifically identify real life abuse materials! Please just don’t use a term that has this much seriousness attached to it as a means of labeling fictional content that you don’t like, even if it triggers you!

You being uncomfortable doesn’t justify the misuse of a term that is used to directly describe abuse, and it makes real victims of CSEM feel like shit when you label some random anime girl as a “victim” right next to them. Because, get this, when you label something fictional as CSEM, CSAM, or CP, you are inherently insinuating that there is a victim involved in the creation of this media, which is inherently untrue with fiction. STOP DOING THIS!!!

Nowadays when I see a callout post- especially one about pedophilia or zoophilia, I skip it, cuz most are talking about fiction or like an artist with 2 followers...

Girl, callouts should ONLY be to allert people of an actual danger, a real groomer, someone drawing bill cipher and dipper pines having the rawest sex imaginable to the human mind is NOT a danger, thats a discomfort, and thats not callout worthy.

Like you DO realize that a LOT less people are looking at callouts now, even if there IS a real child/animal abuser being called out, because you idiots call out drawings, right? People who claim to be "neutral" on "shipcourse" (which I don't even fully believe in but we can get into that some other time) can make my blood boil sometimes. Like, it's not that hard folks, do you think suibaiting and cyberbullying and artistic censorship are OK or not? If yes, the puricultists are happy to have you, if not, then you're on our side. OP also literally never stated that like... the mutual proshipper ever like force-fed any of their ideals or content. Or that they were even super close. They just happened to be mutuals. And mutuals that may or may not have ever directly interacted. And just happening to find out the mutual was proship was enough for OP to feel like they'd been nefariously misled for malicious purposes. How much you wanna bet the proshipper in question didn't even have that """bad""" of a ship, if a ship was even a part of the equation that lead to the discovery? In my experience, most pro-shippers actually have more tame ships than antis-- but of course, why should that even matter?

I'd expect that kind of reaction from OP from being mutuals with a na/z! or genuine predator-- not because they vaguely "knew" someone who does the fictional equivalent of beheading barbies and blowing up the dolls. Key word dolls.

i can't even participate in proship discourse anymore cos none of y'all even know what proship means lmao

"proship is when problematic ship" actually no that is...nope. that's not what it means. the 'pro' bit is the prefix that means "in favor of, supporting, etc." it' is not short for problematic. proship just means pro-shipping; it just means you support everyone's right to ship whatever they ship, even if it makes you uncomfortable or whatever. it means you don't think people should be harassed and doxxed for ships.

like, in the end, there are a lot of reasons people ship different things, and its not my business whether it's for trauma processing (which is really fucking important, actually) or because they're using fiction as a safe way to explore fucked up shit, or because fucked up dynamics just mean very different things in fiction than they do irl because fiction is not reality. there are a lot of ships that personally make me uncomfy, but if i don't like something, i just block people. i click away. and that's why i consider myself proship. because they can do their thing, over in their corner, so long as I can do my thing over in mine.

and like this isn't meant to make any of you change your minds or anything, because i know a lot of you still won't agree with this. but i keep seeing young fans spreading the idea that "proship" means "problematic ship" and it's just frustrating to see.
