Body size is NOT a disease. There are so many things that affect our well being! Chronic stress is a better predictor of whether somebody develops heart disease than weight is. And living in a larger body is STRESSFUL because of the rampant and socially acceptable fatphobia in our society. It’s not fat that kills, it’s fatphobia.
Weight loss is also often extremely dangerous. When we malnourish our bodies it jeopardizes our mental and physical health and can often be fatal. So, if we ACTUALLY valued wellbeing as a society, we wouldn’t be promoting weight loss as the cure-all.
The studies proclaiming the benefits of weight loss and the perils of fatness leave this out - weight loss is NOT sustainable. Also those studies are often written by pharmaceutical corporations selling weight loss drugs (that don’t work) for profit!! 😠THEY ARE GREEDY AND THEY FEED OFF OF FATPHOBIA AND US FEELING SHITTY ABOUT OUR BODIES! 😠
✨Dieting and weight loss goes totally against our brain’s wiring of KEEPING US ALIVE AND FUNCTIONING!✨
Weight cycling (when somebody loses weight bc they’re engaging in ED behaviors, gains it back because weight loss is not something the body can sustain and our survival mechanisms kick in when we attempt to starve ourselves, and then loses weight again bc society tells us that we’re failing as a human if we can’t lose weight and then the cycle repeats) is actually associated with a higher risk of death AND is associated with heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
📢 FATNESS IS NOT DANGEROUS, DIET CULTURE IS. 📢
ASK YOURSELF THIS QUESTION: who benefits from the idea that fat people are unhealthy?
ANSWER: the diet industry (mostly run by rich, white, cis hetero men) and literally nobody else
There is nothing wrong with you if you are struggling with an ED/if you want to lose weight. That makes TOTAL sense in a society that values thinness over all else. Knowing this stuff doesn’t necessarily make recovery any easier!

For a while I’ve wanted to write a fairy tail about a kingdom obsessed with using glamours to change their appearances, but the great secret is that the magic comes at a great cost to their vitality. Their princess, having watched her mother succumb to the glamour’s negative effects, refuses them. The mage who creates the glamours puts a curse on her so that an embodiment of her insecurities follows her around, whispering to her, wearing her down so that she gives in. She, instead, decides to leave on a quest to find a way to lift the curse.
Her name is Wenmarie.

look, I got nothing against people taking care of their health, making lifestyle changes as needed for themselves, I'm sure if you have a clear issue that needs addressing it both makes sense and is easier to clean up your diet. But I'm also not convinced that eating any certain way at all times guarantees a long life. Some of y'all out here acting like God or whoever's gonna add 10 years to your lifespan for being good and eating a twig salad as your only meal every day. When it comes down to it longevity is likely in a big part just genetics, although things like smoking and excessive drinking can tip the scales. Food, however? I mean moderation in all things, but if you have a damn piece of cake once in a great while, it's not gonna kill you. come on, man.

Fat is bad, sugar is good. No, wait… fat is good and sugar is bad. If you’re confused it’s not your fault. The diet industry is not interested in your health just your money. The first step to becoming an intuitive eater is to reject the diet mentality. By rejecting diet culture you can finally stop restriction your food choices. Restricting does not work and triggers primal hunger, which can lead to binge eating. If you’re ready to walk away from dieting for good, click the link in my bio to learn how. #intuitiveeating #dietculture #sugar #food #sugarfree #fatfree #diet #antidiet #nutritionalwisdom #vintage #healthcoach #mindbodyeating https://www.instagram.com/p/CnH1FRyO2Dp/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

You're made up of chemicals and so are the foods you eat and the water (H2O) you drink.
Sure, you could say that a banana is natural because it wasn't made by humans (although it kind of was through selective breeding) but it's still made up of chemicals. Typically when people say something is 'natural' they mean 'without chemicals' and that's not accurate.
If someone is selling you a 'natural' product or food, it's definitely full of chemicals. Regardless of the product.
Also, 'natural' things aren't always 'good', and added chemicals aren't always 'bad'. While I was doing some reading, I found this great article by canadianfoodfocus.org that brought up a good point: E.Coli is natural and can cause severe sickness or death whereas adding synthetic vitamins to foods has helped the population's health in many ways.
Labeling foods as 'natural' is misleading and contributes to moralizing food which is harmful.
In the end, it's pretty amazing that everything is made up of tiny little particles. (can you tell I'm taking science classes at the moment? haha)

idek who it even was that was so scared of 15 pounds that they had to develop disordered eating habits to get rid of it but y’all are showing your true ass fatphobic colors with your “if she wanted to lose 15 gross pounds then she can y’all leave her alone” point of view. It’s not about bodily autonomy. It’s about eating the same amount of daily recommended calories for a toddler and passing it off as health advice. I forgot that y’all only care about other’s health when it comes to people in bigger bodies, not smaller ones 😭

In 2024, stay fat. Let’s stop trying to change ourselves and dig deeper to change the world. Let’s not spend another penny on industries that profit from disempowerment, trying to colonize our minds with the lie that we are not good enough as we are. That our differences aren’t our strengths. That change isn’t part of life. That we have to earn our value. All that nonsense keeps us busy and quiet.
In 2024 let’s spend our precious time and energy pursuing joy, strengthening connections, making art, laughing until we cry, caring for each other, trying wild ideas, eating nachos, falling in love, stretching our minds, dancing, and playing. Let’s equip ourselves to be better activists, each in our own way. Let’s bring our unique gifts to the table. Let’s figure out what bullshit to let go of so we can rest more. So that we have energy to connect. So we can imagine better ways of doing things.
When I say “stay fat” I mean it. Stay everything that you are. Be everything that you’ve been told to change about yourself. Do what you desire in the body you have now. Wear your differences as a badge of pride- of your refusal to buy what they’re selling.
It’s easier said than done, for some more than others. But you are lovable fat. You are lovable skinny, short, tall, Brown, Black, Queer, weird, Disabled.
Your dimples and scars, your cellulite and rolls are lovable - and anyone who tells you differently is struggling to understand that they are lovable, too.
We don’t have time to waste fighting against ourselves. We have bigger things to fight. The path out of the dumpster fire of capitalism and towards collective liberation will not be found while we’re cutting carbs or counting calories.
In 2024 let’s just do our best to stay fed, rested, and connected. New year, new world order. Don’t diet, RIOT. Stay Fat. Free Palestine. Photos by @isohella

I work in a gym and sometimes, I see people come in for a workout and after I finish training 2 clients (1 hour sessions) and taking a break, they're still there.
Of course, I don't know their situation. They might be an athlete. But I know a lot of people think a longer workout is more beneficial when in fact, you can get a very effective workout in just 30 minutes.
If you're not an athlete or, say, a long distance runner and you're an average person moving your body, your workouts don't need to surpass an hour an a half.
A 5 minute workout is also great! So does standing up and doing a couple stretches!
