Feysand stans acting like they have the moral superiority to condemn Nesta for being mean, while they simultaneously romanticize Rhysand's sexual assault of Feyre.
But I guess as long as he was nice to Feyre while drugging and sexually assaulting her, it makes it all okay.
Nesta and her stans aren't the problem with this fandom.

A crown is inherited, a kingdom is earned.
Feyre was given the title of High Lady and whether we care to accept it or not, she hasn't yet earned her kingdom. Her role in the war and the acts she committed were for Prythian and not singularly the court she now holds a title for. Her paint studio was an outlet for her, which evolved into a place of learning for some of the better off citizens of Velaris. While I respect Feyre's need to heal and be selfish with the man she loves, I can't respect a leader who puts their own wellbeing before the needs and health of the people they swore an oath to protect.
That being said, my admiration for Nesta began in silver flames. There was a moment, a notable moment where I officially realised that Nesta is the woman I'd follow, if I had to choose. It was the moment this traumatised and broken woman recognised that she was not the only suffering from a traumatic past. Nesta, without a title or money or a home to call her own, looked at the priestesses still living in terror and decided she wanted to help them. Nesta who had healing of her own to do CHOSE to help those around her heal as well.
Nesta who has earned the respect of Illyrians by earning the title of Oristian (even if they're misogynists and tried to kill her) and Valkyrie.
Nesta who has sacrificed her depthless God-level Death powers to save the rulers of the Night Court.
Nesta who saw to it that SA survivors were equipped with the tools to defend themselves when they're ready to step out into the world again.
Feyre may have inherited the title, but as far as I'm concerned, Nesta has earned this kingdom.

ill tell you this, i'll take those weird, rabid feysand stans over the ones that purposely preach docility when we speak about the issues. like - there's a maliciousness in the latter that is much more intentional. bc there's an awareness when you acknowledge the issues, and there's something very interesting about the way they decide to frame those discussions. idk know abt yall but i think racism is pretty serious...and i think any scholarship or interrogation dealing with that issue is a bit different than being ostentatious. like i just don't get that argument - especially when the book is the one making the story a moral lesson. (and even if it didn't - sjm's writing is still the problem at the heart). like sometimes i think people are so deadset on proving the point that antis are speaking nonsense - that they end up needing to justify sjm's writing to prove their point. if we're acknowledging that sjm has (at the very least) a sensitivity/racial issue - you can't shoot that conversation down because it 'makes rhys look bad' or you've shelved it as strictly a 'pro-nesta-antifeysand argument' and therefore you're approaching the argument trying to prove the point that 'actually there is no racism bc the fantasy world justifies itself.' we're questioning why the author feels comfortable creating a situation where racism, misogyny or abuse needs to be justified.
if you don't think the issues are serious - then you just don't. you either recognize these issues in their entirety or you don't at all.

hoping to reach the whole acotar fandom with this post! there can be so much negativity in this fandom with shipwars and such and I wanted to ask the community at large to make sure your posts are tagged correctly! If you put spaces in your tags then your post will actually appear in the ship you’re against not the one you support… for example, if you tag #anti feysand the post will actually be under #feysand instead of #antifeysand (does this even exist? i think we all love feysand lol😋)
support the characters you love and everyone deserves a space to talk about their favorite ships but please tag correctly! this is not meant to offend anyone in the slightest, more of a PSA ❤️

Feysand Ramble
I was scrolling through good ole tumblr the other day and I came across the antifeysand tag and quickly found myself in the depths of a never ending rabbit hole. Now, I know as much as the next person that everyone has differing opinions about the ACOTAR series and it’s characters, but it’s difficult to understand how hard some of these Nesta stans go considering she’s been problematic since book one. I don’t hate Nesta but she’s for sure not my favorite character, I read ACOSF and I sympathize with her trauma but that doesn’t wash away all the hateful things she’s done and said to Feyre. Do I think she’s a terrible person that doesn’t deserve a redemption arc? Absolutely not, but that also doesn’t mean I can overlook everything SJM made her to be in the first 4 books. And then, on top of that they’re out here disrespecting Feyre like she’s not the MOST POWERFUL FEMALE FAE IN ALL OF PRYTHIAN!!! Like... did Nesta stans actually READ books 1-3.5? And don’t even get me started on the shit said about my man Rhysand... My point is that SJM writes complicated characters in all of her books and the majority of this series has been in Feyre’s perspective so it’s kinda hard to see where all the hate is coming from for Feysand when ACOSF only shows them from the perspective of somebody that actively dislikes the both of them lol.

No romance author does it like SJM.
Rowan punching Aelin in the face = endgame.
Rhys sexually assaulting Feyre = SJM's favorite couple that she can't shut up about.
Aedion calling Lysandra a bitch = yes, give me that wedding.
Cassian telling Nesta that everybody hates her = mates.

I've seen a lot of responses lately about Nestas feelings about the IC locking her up and I fully disagree. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course, but personally Nesta deserves better.
Nesta saying that she deserved what they did to her is a trauma response. Nesta saying that they were right to lock her up because she was drinking and having casual sex is a trauma response.
She was clawing at her own body looking for a way to negate the pain and loneliness she felt. And maybe I read her Healing arc completely differently but she didn't heal when they forced her to train, or they forced her to train with Cassian or when they locked her up in a house ten thousand steps into the sky.
Nesta began to heal when she met Gwyn and Emerie and the other priestesses and the House became her friend.
So again, Nesta saying she deserves what they did to her is a trauma response because what the IC did to was traumatic too. There's no soft skill way to relocate someone to a prison without warning and then demolishing their home, aside from the body altering physical training (good in the long run but she was aching plenty along the way) and being told that everyone hates her (again, whether it's true or not is another story) is abusive.
Nesta was cut and shaped until she fit into the mould. And THAT is traumatic. The only difference is, If you hit an already broken person long enough, they'll start to believe they deserve it.

Hot Take of the Day:
Having never actually met. Tamlin HATED Nesta because of Feyre's narration. Nesta HATED Tamlin because of Feyre's narration.
I'm sensing a trend here.

SJM fandom will excuse Rowan abusing Aelin and Rhys sexually assaulting Feyre, but somehow think Nesta is the problem because she's mean.

I feel like Nesta antis forget these three parts of ACOFAS:
Nesta and Feyre
Nesta shrugged. "She could have eaten with me here."
"You know Elain wouldn't feel comfortable in a place like this."
Feyre and Amren
"Have you spoken to her?"
"She comes here every few days."
Rhysand
Nesta had successfully cloistered herself in some slummy apartment across the Sidra, refusing to interact with any of us save for a few brief visits with Feyre every month.
Nesta visited Feyre numerous times a month, she visited Amren every few days, and she wanted Elain to spend time with her. I should add that Nesta showed her face without charging a fee for her services, so don't try to make an argument that they had to pay her to see her.

Ayo, but who decided that Nesta spending 500 gold coins in one night was more embarrassing than the strips of fabric Feyre wore UTM and that one time she sat in Rhysies lap when they visited the Hewn City?

"Oh, so it's about saving face---"
"It is about how it reflects upon me, upon Rhys, and upon my court when my damned sister spend our money on wine and gambling and does nothing to contribute to this city!"
Nesta: *doesn't have a job, only a title* *supports local businesses in the slum by spending 500 gold coins of the High Lord's money, putting more money into a poor community while actively keeping her sultry behaviour limited to those bars and her ramshackle apartment* *uses money given by sister*
Feyre: *doesn't have a job, only a title* *spends a tonne of coin buying an estate and decorating it by purchasing the finest silks and furniture, supplied by the wealthier side of Velaris, and has sex in the sky for all the townsfolk and their children to see* *uses money given by husband*
Feyre to Nesta: "You're an embarrassment, wasting money you haven't earned."
