🗡️ Stop looking for monsters under your bed
you are the monster 🗡️ villain/anti-hero prompts 🗡️ based on MNQN’s “What Have You Become?”
“I don’t know who you are anymore.” “Then you never knew me.”
“Care to watch the show? You can’t stop it, so you might as well enjoy it.” B grinned, sparks in their eyes and the air.
“Oh be quiet dear, this will all be over soon.”
“You say that we’re doing something different, that we’re making the right changes to protect people, but all I see are more corpses.”
“Are you sure this is the right thing to do?”
“Oh god, oh fuck…” A crumpled to their knees, helplessly watching B’s blood pool on the floor. “What did I do?”
“I… I think we’re the monsters here.”
“Did you actually think you could save them?” B laughed in disbelief.
“People die all the time, why would you be any different?”
A looked at the sky, avoiding B’s gaze. “The night is in everyone. Hope dies like stars, happiness crashes like meteors. The night remains.”
“If you do this, heaven will not know your name.” “They will know it, and they will fear it.”
“You asked for a savior, not a saint.”
Their face was carved from the malice of millions.
“They chose me. I must carry out my duty or thousands more will die.”
“That’s enough A! We’ve tried everything, hell, nearly lost everything too. One of us will die if we keep going...” “And we let them win?” “It’s the only way we get a happy ending.”
“I’ve been waiting to do this for a long time.”
“Why are you doing this? What did I ever do to deserve this?” “Don’t be naïve. You know exactly what you’ve done.”
“You should’ve seen the look on their faces. It was delicious.”
A collapsed, thoughts swirling in a mess of confusion and betrayal. Their arm stung. Their bones ached. Their heart hurt. “What happened to you?” “Nothing happened. You became weak.”
“I don’t want to do this. But it’s the only way out.”

Prompt #274
“Look who it is,” Villain drawled, blood dribbling down their chin. “The fallen angel. You’re usually doing rounds with your hero friends by this time of night. What? Fall to far? No damaged goods allowed in that heaven of an agency?”
Antihero stepped out of the shadows and crouched down in front them. “I know you’re just trying to hurt me so I’ll leave.”
“Then take the hint.”
“You’re bleeding.”
“It’s not your business. Go back to bootlicking your precious heroes. I bet you make a great dog.”
“You’ve always been a pill,” Antihero said, lifting Villain’s arm to get a look at the bloody slit in their skintight suit, “but you’re being particularly nasty tonight. Jealous are we?”
“I don’t care anything about you!”
Antihero only smiled, throwing one arm under Villain’s legs and the other behind their back as they lifted them into a bridal carry. “So mean,” they tsked. “But I’ll carry you home anyway. I’m nice like that.”

Agonizing Corruption
Smutty with like a dash of lemon
It was just one mission, and that was it. Only a little bit of intel and nothing else. They let Villain go this time, but only because of a favour.
Little by little, as they stayed up late at night, staring at their empty ceiling, Hero concluded they were slowly becoming corrupted.
Their heroic morals and goals were immediately tossed to the side as soon as the sly call of their enemy beckoned them closer. They would switch up, show a change of face and eventually— "I guess I could do that for you." became "Whatever you need, I'll give it."
They had a way with words that just couldn't be described. It was greedy but gifting all its intricate details. So how could Hero stop pursuing something so addictive?
Every night their weekly patrols had led them back into Villain's arms repeatedly until these stopped becoming patrols and simply rendezvous in the dark.
Hero let out a cold shudder of breath as soon as Villain lifted their suit enough to become exposed to the cold. Their back pressed up against the tall building, tongues tangled with what was presumed to be an enemy. Hero couldn't tell where their hands would end up next, but the thrill of not knowing had made them grow more excited. Their face burnt a bright crimson in the cover of the night, trying to hold their moans back.
"Villain--" Their body tensed as they pulled their lips apart. Their bodies were too close. Too warm. Too...
"Easy, baby," They heard them whisper back, the shivers climbing up their spine again at the feeling of their hot breath. "I'll be gentle with you." Hero gripped tightly onto the other, losing concentration all over again. Their head spiralled out of control.
Villain's readjusted their grip on Hero's hips with a light squeeze and pushed their thighs apart. "Please, Villain don't..."
"Why?" What a cruel and beautiful smile Villain had on.
"Not in public."
"No one will see us." before Hero could argue again, their lips reassured their safety. "Trust me..." Their gaze lingered for a bit longer, and Hero felt their cheeks flush. "Don't I owe you thanks after all the hard work you've done for me?"
A small pat between their legs sent a wave of shivers as soon as they got to business. It was always like this, some taunting, some flirting, and then...
"V-Villain-!~" They pushed harder, their teeth clenching on the pressure. "Please-- I can't take your teasing--"
They heard a low chuckle against their ear; it felt so humiliating to be whining this desperately, but who was to blame when Villain captivated them every time?
"I'm only preparing, dear. You can wait for me, hm?" Their other hand came up to pull their reddening face toward them. Villain's towering figure left them struggling to speak. "Now, where did you say that election was being held, sweetheart?"
Hero struggled with their code of ethics for a second. They knew Villain was planning on toppling it. They knew this was a manipulation tactic. But for manipulating, this was taking it a bit too far, wasn't it? This was just too real to be fake.
Villain gave their hips another light squeeze when they noticed their difficulty responding. "You can do it for me…" their lips kissed their cheek, encouraging them to speak.
They couldn't say no to them. Never them. So with daring confidence, they spoke again. "Downtown, near the city's park…"
"Good." Villain cooed, their hand working their way through their suit. They watched Hero's eyes roll to the back of their head. "And what are the times?" Their touch pushed harder and faster, pleasuring them.
Hero breathed quickly, their heart racing with every strong and gentle stroke. Their hips tended up, too caught up in the moment and left unable to speak.
"What time, Hero?~" they repeated. This time, Villain's hand pulled back a bit, dissatisfying Hero all over again. They moaned lowly as their hips pushed up onto Villain's palm desperately. Their feet were practically tip-toeing to meet friction. "Nine—"Hero's fists clawed onto Villain, their body aching to feel more.
"Nine?" Villain pushed back down, right where they knew Hero liked it. Of course, they knew. They've done this sort of work between them too many times.
They buried their head into their chest, panting harder. They were so close… almost…
"Nine-thirty to… two in the afternoon."
"That's perfect." With that last sentence, Hero savoured their reward, finally releasing themselves from the deliberation.
Almost instantly, their legs gave out underneath them. Villain held them tightly as they came down from the euphoria, exhausted and still sensing the warmth around their cheeks.
"You did wonderful, darling." They gave a short peck to their head. Hero smiled, their mind still reeling from the experience. The only person who showed this amount of love for them had been Villain. How they longed for these nights to see them again. Anyone could say Villain was like a forbidden fruit, but something too sweet to ignore wasn't possible.
Every minute spent with them was worth it, even if it came at a cost.

Ok so ive been thinking of a ship dynamic and its polyamory. Hero x Anti-hero x Villain. You can do it however you want! I dont think this is an original idea but ive not seen anyone else do this so far
Oooo that's an intriguing trio
I've never seen this written before either, but I'll give it my best shot. Thank you for the ask! ^-^
~
"Calm down, love."
"They're late."
Villain stopped Hero mid-stride to interrupt their pacing. They took their partner in their arms and gently guided them to the couch to restrain them in a hug. "Anti-Hero is always late. You know them. They'll be home soon." Villain smiled down at Hero sweetly. "And if they aren't, I'll make sure to remind them how to keep track of the time."
Hero sighed, reluctantly relaxing in the hold. "I might want to 'remind' them with you, if you don't mind."
Villain looked down at their partner with a raised brow. "Is that a threat, love? Careful now. That doesn't sound very heroic of you."
"Loving either of you isn't very heroic of me," Hero huffed. "...Do you think they're okay?"
"They better be."
~
By the time the front door clicked open, all the lights were out. Anti-Hero slipped through the entrance as quietly as possible. Which meant their partners heard every attempted tip-toe as they crept past the living room. A shadow fell over them and they froze.
"Back so early?"
Slowly, Anti-Hero turned to face Villain. "Oh. You're still up? You didn't have to wait for me, darling." They chuckled nervously, fingers twitching for the weapon pouch on their hip. They were tired, but if Villain wanted a fight, they'd at least try their best before giving in.
"Darling," Villain repeated with a thin smile on their lips. "Dinner went cold hours ago."
Anti-Hero tensed as Villain stepped closer, but their partner only laid a gentle hand on their arm. "You're hurt, aren't you? Let's get you cleaned up. Hero already has the first-aid kit ready."
Anti-Hero sighed, shoulders sagging in relief until the grip on their forearm tightened. "But don't think we won't be talking about this." The softness in Villain's tone was anything but kind. "Even my schemes have a curfew on date night."
Anti-Hero swallowed and nodded, feeling numb. They were in for a long and exhausting lesson later.

haven, how did i almost miss your ask game. here's an au for you:
au where helena catches the clench during contagion instead of tim
Helena is alone when she realizes that she's sick. She is alone when she realizes that she is too sick to keep fighting. She knows that the hospitals are full and no use, so instead she hunkers down in her apartment, alone.
There is no butler to nurse her through it. Instead, she tosses and terms and has fever dreams in which she sees her family dying, her brother dead. She sees James, his eyes bleeding. She tosses and turns, in pain and longing for relief.
She nearly dies. She would have died, alone in her apartment, if Robin hadn't come by.
See, after Azrael's buddies faxed the the cure over and Wayne Enterprises started manufacturing it, Tim went out to go and find the Huntress and see if he could recruit her into crawling through Gotham and making sure everyone got administered it. And eventually, he finds her.
And so, Helena does not die, but instead wakes up in a hospital bed with a little bird lurking in the shadows.

Prompt #1194
The former villain coughs as they’re forced against the railing. “You can’t keep doing this.”
“Try me, you geriatric fuck.”
“One day it’s gonna catch up to you.” A body broken countless times in the pursuit of unattainable power creaks as the now-civilian is pushed even closer to their demise. “You won’t be able to stop it.”
“Yeah. The same way it caught up to you, right?”
The former villain is simply pushed off the building, legacy reduced to a pool of blood on asphalt.

Basic Tips to Create an Antihero
When we write, we want our characters to be different, we want them to stand out and make an impact on our audience. One of my favorite ways to do this is by creating an antihero!
What is an antihero? Well, it's almost what it sounds like, but not quite. An antihero is a character whose actions are morally incorrect, but they're doing it for a righteous cause. It's because of this complexity that they tend to have a strong and lasting impact on readers. Okay, now that we're done with the definitions, let's get started!
Fundamentally, you need to have an idea of what your antihero is trying to achieve and how they are trying to fulfill it. This one is apt to be difficult for writers new to creating such a character, but there are several tips that I can offer to hopefully ease the process! I would suggest designing your character's goals first. Majority of the time, this is influenced by their past experiences. If that's the case, then their aim may be to prevent that from happening to anyone else. Alright, that makes sense, but how does such a pure objective create an antihero? Well, there are some things you can do to flip this around. For starters, these types of characters have a tendency to be more ruthless than the average person. They are willing to do anything to achieve their goal, and because of that, they are inclined to take things to extremities. It's important to remember that in a way, antiheros are rather twisted.
Next, you need to establish their backstory. It's entirely possible to come up with an antihero without a dramatic backstory, but it will be much more difficult. If that's the case, then I suggest giving your character a goal based on the opportunities they have if they are able to obtain it. However, most people use a character's past as a guideline for their modern actions. You need to make it VERY clear how their past impacted them.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, your audience has to understand why the character is doing what they do. You don't want your readers to disagree with the antihero, but on the other hand, they don't necessarily need to agree, either, they simply need to recognize and appreciate what your character is trying to achieve. You need to balance out both sides to properly display the views on the separate sides. Overall, you don't want your readers to easily be able to label them as "good" or "bad."
I hope that these tips were able to help give you an idea of how to create an antihero or clear up any confusion you had for this character type!
And remember this: your main character doesn't have to win.
Happy writing~

Writing Prompt: The Curse of Immortality
The group of friends had been traveling together for some time, and upon finding shelter, they meet the protagonist’s old mentor who decides to tell the group a story:
The story of two powerfully beings who did not known their strength. They fought on opposite sides and seemed destined to fight each other forever. The hero and the villain… they had given each other many scars. They bickered and they fought. They seemed evenly matched.
That is until the hero witnessed the villain being punished for not taking the hero down. The villain’s own mentor, the villain’s parent, struck them because they could not defeat a singular being. After the punishment, the hero showed up at the villain’s doorstep. No weapons. No fight. Just a medkit clutched to their chest. The hero tended to the villain’s wounds. That sat in a surprisingly comfortable silence. The villain didn’t ask what the hero knew and the hero didn’t ask how long it had been happening.
The next few times they fought. It seemed like nothing had changed. They were still evenly matched. Until the villain was able to land a blow. The hero was down. The villain’s mentor stepped forward, prepared to finally end the hero who had been in their way for oh so long. As they prepared that final blow, the hero bowed their head prepared for this fate… but the attack never came. Upon looking up, the villain was shielding the hero with their mentor knocked back on the ground.
So began the unlikely team, the hero and the villain turn anti-hero. For years, their friendship grew. They protected people. They stopped the bad guys (one way or another). Then friendship became something more.
Character C: I knew it! I knew it! They were in love!
Mentor: yes they were but it took some time for them both to see it or admit it to each other
Character D: *tsk* why?
Mentor: because they were each other’s first friends in many, many years. It took many years of friendship for them to feel safe enough to share a secret. A secret that always left them with heartache.
Character C: well? What was it?!
Mentor: the hero was immortal, destined to protect. They had lived through many lives and had watched main people die, and the hardest was watching them die from old age when they themselves would never meet such a fate… what the hero didn’t know though was the anti-hero was also immortal and had also lived countless lives.
Character C: aww they were meant for each other.
Mentor: if only that were true-
Character D: what? What do you mean?
Mentor: as I said before, the hero was destined to protect. It’s written into their story into their fate. The anti-hero was destined to conquer and destroy, as was their parent, the true villain. Despite their love, they could never truly escape destiny. The time would come… they’d face each other once more and it would not be as lovers.
Character C: but- but that’s not fair!
Mentor: life rarely is. After all, when has it ever been true for immortality to be a gift and not a curse?
They sat together in silence. Little did Character C and D know was their companions, Character A and B, were the ones in the story. Mentor was mentally preparing them for what was to come.
They would have to help A fight the villain, yes, but they’d also have to help in defeat B. This is where their journey was leading them. A and B knew this. While Mentor began to talk about old tales, B held A’s hand a little tighter while A leaned their head onto their lover’s shoulder.

i need a frontiers extra story dlc where shadow is trapped in cyberspace and it just so happens that he’s stuck in ark and ends up completely losing it after a while. stuck there indefinitely with fragmented, painful memories, unsure if anything he’s ever done is right (again), no way out. and then after he breaks free (with the help of sonic, of course) he’s finally able to fully let go, and he and sonic have a heart to heart about everything. he wants to start moving forward rather than looking back, he wants to define himself by his future, not by his past. he wants to live freely in honor of maria. the black arms don’t matter, the amnesia doesn’t matter, the times he’s been tricked by eggman don’t matter. he just wants to be shadow. not a weapon, not a pawn, not the ultimate lifeform. just… shadow. and he hopes sonic can help him learn how to do that.
sega let my boy move on please i’m begging you.

Batman for Dummies
Chapter 3: Starring NIGHTWING as the Cavalry
AO3: Chapter 3 | Read from the beginning
Fandom: Batman
Featured Characters/Relationships: Helena Bertinelli & Tim Drake, but look basically everyone shows up this chapter including, but not limited to: Dick, Barbara, Jean-Paul Valley, and Bruce too I guess.
Wordcount: 9100
Fic Summary:
In the aftermath of the quake that shook Gotham, Helena Bertinelli takes on the mantle of the Bat. (It isn’t like Batman’s using it.) If she’d known the cowl came with a certain moralizing little bird following her around — well, she probably still would’ve done it, but it would’ve been nice to know in advance. (Or: Tim and Helena team up 2: electric boogaloo. Now with more bats!)
We are back, baby! I got so much procrastination on my school projects done while editing this.
After two chapters of drama, it's time for something more chill and fun before we hit the endgame :)
Excerpt:
“Knock knock.”
Helena groaned and blinked. Someone was shining a flashlight in her face. At her side, Robby made some equally unhappy noises as he tried to pull the blanket over his head. It took Helena a second to wake up, but then it happened all at once. Someone else was there.
She kicked out, but her legs were still tangled in the blankets and the intruder easily dodged back.
Robby finally noticed something was wrong and sat up. “’Lena, what?” he said with a yawn. Then, more alert: “Nightwing?”
With the flashlight no longer shining in her eyes, Helena could see the black and blue costume she’d originally missed. She flicked on the LED lamp near the bed, and there he was, looking in far better shape than anyone inside the city had been in months. “What are you doing here?” she demanded.
“When did you get here?” asked Robby.
“To answer your questions: last night and I was sent to fetch you. B called a meeting,” Nightwing said.
Robby crossed his arms. “B knows what I think. You can tell him that sending you isn’t going to change that. No offense,” he tacked on apologetically.
Nightwing nodded. “So you’re both out then?
Helena exchanged a look with Robby. “Both?” she asked.
Nightwing shrugged. “He told me to get both of you.”
“Really?” she asked. “Because he was pretty clear on what he thought of me the last time we met.”
“Hey, I just got here.” Nightwing held up his hands. “I’m just telling you what he told me.”
Robby was looking to her. “Do you think he means it?”
Helena shrugged. “You know him better than I do, kid.”
“Well…” she could see the wheels in his head turning, “maybe. He did kind of try to apologize last time.” To Robin, not to the Bat. “I won’t go if you don’t,” he decided.
Helena turned back to Nightwing. “Who else is going to be at this meeting?”
“Me, Oracle, Azrael I think. It’s an all hands sort of thing.
So either she was actually included in that, or else he just wanted to chew her out in front of a larger audience. Helena knew she really shouldn’t get her hopes up; she’d been burned enough times before, but if he really was serious this time… Well, She never had completely managed to rid herself of the part of her that wanted for Batman to see her, to respect her. Though, admittedly, with the events of the past months, that part had gotten pretty small.
What were the options here? If they went and it turned out he was still an asshole, it’d be annoying, but she could just leave. A waste of morning at worst. But if they didn’t go and it turned out he was serious… Helena was honestly a little surprised that Robin had stuck with her this long. He'd been the only thing keeping her from spilling blood all over his precious bat symbol and he’d still chewed out Batman for her in the end. If Batman was serious, she owed it to the kid to at least give it a try. She knew he didn’t like being at odds with Batman, for all he was willing to be.
“We’ll come,” she said.
“Where are we going?” Robby asked.
“Clocktower,” Nightwing said. “I figured I’d come along with you once you got suited up.”
“How long until we need to be there?” Helena asked.
He shrugged. “Sooner’s better. It starts whenever everyone shows up.
She probably wouldn’t have been able to get back to sleep anyway. Helena stood up and stretched. “Well then, let a woman have her privacy?”
Robby dragged Nightwing out the door.
She could hear them talking in the other room as she stripped off her sleepwear and pulled on the Batsuit.
“You had me worried, you know,” Nightwing said.
“Really?” Robby asked.
“Yeah, I had to hear from O that you were hanging out in No Man’s Land.”
“Oh.” A pause. “I didn’t think you’d notice.”
“Really? You come by every other week to bother me. Of course I’m going to notice when you stop. Then you stop answering your phone and of course I’m worried.”
“Um, I’m sorry?”
A snort, probably from Nightwing. Helena could empathize. “Punk. So, you and Huntress?”
“She’s the Bat,” Robby said automatically. Then, more suspicious: “And what do you mean?”
“I’m just saying, after all that shit you gave me for letting her see my face, where do I find you?”
“It’s not— I’m not— It’s practical!” Robby sputtered. “I’ve known her for longer! And there’s only one bed!”
“Sure, kid.”
“You agreed we weren’t going to bring that up!”
“I’m just saying…”
The conversation devolved into scuffling. Helena pulled on her mask and went around to the doorway. Robin was only half-way suited up and Nightwing had him in a headlock.
She coughed. “So, are we going?”
Nightwing let Robin go and he hurried to finish putting on his tunic. “I’m ready,” he said and headed to the exit.
Nightwing turned to her. “Ladies first,” he said.
She rolled her eyes, but headed for the door.
