Welcome to my Mega Problematic Sylvie post
I wanted to make a list of everything problematic about Sylvie in s1 and s2 because she gets away with whatever she wants and it bugs me to no end that she never takes accountability for any of the pain she causes.
You have been warned. So let's get into it.
1. Sylvie’s way is the only way and she expects everyone else to just bend to her will without complaint
2. She is physically mentally and emotionally incapable of trusting anyone besides herself
3. She uses other people's emotions to manipulate them into getting what she wants
4. She refuses to even entertain the possibility that anything besides her own opinion is correct
5. She criticizes others' attempts to clean up the mess she caused while she herself does absolutely nothing about it
6. Always looking to ruin and run, taking the easy way out and avoiding any accountability
7. Puts her own need for revenge above the well-being of everyone else in the multiverse
8. Blames everyone else for the problems she herself caused
9. Insults everyone at the TVA for their lack of empathy despite it being the exact reason she didn't want to return in the first place. Every critique she delivers just illustrates how much of a hypocrite she is
10. Berates Mobius and all the people who are actually trying to fix her problem even though they never once blamed her for the mess they're in
11. Acts like she's doing everyone a favor just for being there and insulting everyone when in reality, Loki had to ask multiple times before finally getting her to return
12. Never willing to put in more effort than just destroying everything and walking away
13. Even when directly asked for her help, Sylvie straight up refuses. She couldn't care less about anything besides her McDonald's employee-of-the-month badge
14. Sylvie gaslights Loki into thinking they're the same, that she's not in the wrong because they're both only thinking of themselves. In reality, Sylvie is thinking only of going back to her own timeline, alone, while Loki is thinking only of making his friends happy, because that's what makes him happy too.
15. While being completely unsympathetic to Loki struggling with his greatest fear, Sylvie makes the decision that Loki's friend's are all better off where they are now. But is it really better for them, or just better for Sylvie?
16. And now, after 11 episodes and countless requests for Sylvie's help, she actually cares about the rest of the multiverse. And yet it's still solely because her own timeline is finally in danger
17. When Loki ends up sacrificing himself to solve the problem Sylvie created, her only response is a joyful shrug that she's now happy, alone, and responsibility-free.
Overall, I know Sylvie's only purpose as a character is to be a darker mirror of Loki and everything she does is understandably informed by her trauma. This is likely a result of having a limited-episode-series and having all male/not diverse writers creating female characters. Sylvie is used only as a comparison to Loki before he met Mobius, and unfortunately is never given any thoughtful character moments like Loki had showing how he was aware that his actions hurt others. In 1x1, Loki talks about how he doesn’t enjoy hurting people and only does it to maintain control. The only time we ever see Sylvie reconsider her actions is when she didn’t kill Timely, which I think is more because she saw herself in Timely as someone who didn’t want to be controlled by their ‘destiny,’ not because she developed any kindness or compassion toward him.
I understand the fact that Sylvie was never given someone like Mobius to allow her the opportunity to change like Loki did, but I don't think that should excuse her causing so much pain and being so self-centered. Sylvie never trusted or cared about anyone and that's also my biggest argument against Sylki; her loving or being driven by anyone besides herself is just so inconsistent with her entire character.
Anyway, my purpose here was not to be hateful or to search for any reason to criticize Sylvie, but instead to look critically at her character since I've seen a lot of people praise her as the strong, independent female Loki whose behavior can always be forgiven. Unfortunately, the way she was written is that Sylvie turned her own trauma into everybody else's problem and they all spent 2 seasons trying to clean up her mess. That's my take thank you and goodnight

Hades defenders pls understand that just because your man got abused doesn’t mean he isn’t abusive himself.
He ripped out someone’s eyes, constantly shouts at those with a lower status at him for Persephone. It’s supposed to be attractive, but that is abusive behaviour.
He is a slave owner.
Minthe faces racism from his family. Yes she was abusive. But does that mean he can dismiss her feelings constantly? No, it doesn’t.
Demeter is constantly verbally assaulted by him. And this guy will turn around and say ‘why do you not like me 😭🥺’
Hades is abusive. There’s multiple types of abuse. Stop acting like physical abuse is the only type of abuse ever because it is insulting that you’re implying it.
Hades can be manipulative, verbally abusive, physically abusive (ripping out someone’s eyes and then being mean to them after again and again is abuse) and manipulative and y’all stans will be like… ‘oh no, anyway’ BUT get mad when he gets criticism for being a piece of shit
Also
If anyone can think of another instance where this guy was abusive please add on

I don't know where I'm going with this, but I find it both interesting and OOC when people write Sebastian as someone who would care for sex. We've seen that he can fuck people, but it's for the purpose of getting the information. He knows how to fuck and make people feel good because he knows people's desires. He's literally a demon, so he does what he thinks the receiving person would enjoy and wants.
And sure, we've seen Sebastian leaning in closer for a kiss before almost eating Ciel's soul even though he didn't have to, he could just take it (I mean, Claude chose to kill Alois and not make it easier on him cause he doesn't really care while Sebastian does care for Ciel).
But I think if Seb and Ciel were to fuck canonically, if Sebastian was to receive any kind of sexual pleasure (such as a blowjob, for example), he'd make a performance out of it for Ciel's sake. I feel like Sebastian either doesn't feel much or he can't truly take pleasure in that because, well, he's a demon. Or not so much as he can't, but he doesn't CARE for that? All he wants if to eat Ciel's soul. Before he can do that, he, according to Yana's deleted post, likes to dress Ciel up like a pretty little doll and make him look right (according to society's standards).
So I feel like Seb would try and make Ciel feel good when it comes to sex. He wouldn't have to do something Ciel would expect from him exactly, but he could follow what he senses Ciel actually wants. He could try and tease Ciel in some ways, but if there's an actual order—to stop or to not do something, Seb, most likely, would have (or at least choose) to obey.
And yeah, Seb deserves to feel good, but feelings to him are such... an irrelevant thing? He's not human. The only way I feel he'd be able to truly enjoy any kind of stimulation is maybe through his actual demonic form? Which is basically a big black void with glowing eyes and big hand and claws, so it's another kind of stimulation. 🤷♀️
So yeah, in my mind, if they were to fuck, it's for Ciel's sake. Unreleased sexual tention, hormones, Seb toying with him for his own amusement when Ciel allows him such frivolity. Not because Seb wants and enjoys the feeling of Ciel sucking his dick or whatever (that body isn't even exactly real, so it's kind of ridiculous to me. It's a tool through which he communicates with the world, other humans, and sometimes protects Ciel (Thinking about that injury in, I believe, book of Atlantis?)).

This is probably poking a wasps nest but can someone please explain to me what Dream did wrong?
Like, I am not a Dream Stan by any stretch, but I have genuinely liked his content (esp 2019-2020 era stuff) and to me he’s always seem like a fine dude? Like a bit arrogant and immature, sure, but people act like he is the actual devil and I’m just unsure as to why.
I am not on Twitter and I generally avoid discourse, so I’m sure I’ve missed something, but literally anti-Dream sentiment pops up all over my dash now and I can’t figure out any actual event that happened to cause the uptick.
This is a genuine ask, I actually am confused and can’t find a straight reason.

Rant under the cut
I just went through a ck page I really liked (still kinda like, some of their stuff is rlly good) and they had so many anti Johnny posts.
Which is okay, cause people don’t have to like a character, but it makes me sad that he gets the most hate in the fandom as my favorite character.
He’s done a bunch of bad, stupid shit and caused issues, but so did Kreese (who groomed him), Terry the hot planet polluter, Mike, but they do not get as much of the passionate hate that Johnny gets. (From what I’ve seen when I went through other character anti tags) Personally? I love all of them; they’re supposed to be bad guys (some turned good.)
And so many people blame every single damn problem that has happened in the tkk/ck verse on him (I have seen this too many times), which is just totally and objectively unfair to say.
I totally understand why some people may not like him, but he doesn’t at all deserve the amount of hate he gets.
(No hate to haters though lol)

Just a little reminder that some Snape fans are also Remadora shippers who are trying to survive in this fandom, some of us really don’t appreciate seeing anti Remus/Tonks posts that don’t even mention Snape whenever we go through the pro-snape tag. Thank you.

I watched the last two episodes of Hazbin Hotel and they were pretty alright, I enjoyed them. Obviously the pacing is awful though because we only had 8 episodes to really get to the end, but for what its worth I think they managed to do their best in telling their story.
I can't really blame anyone but the ones who greenlit the show in the first place for that episode number though, lord knows indie animation is thankful enough to get 1 season these days. I hope in season 2 the animation gets better because it is very rough here. Even in that fight/dance sequence with Vaggie and the overlord lady, you can really tell they were being held back a lot and had to just make do with whatever budget they'd been given.
My earlier gripes about how the show handles addiction, sexual assault, and abuse still stand. I think how it portrays those things is tacky, and the show doesn't get a pass just because it was "brave" enough to just outwardly show those things "without holding back". I also don't think the show being 18+ and being set in hell gives it an excuse to just treat these sensitive subjects however it feels. I really hope the fanbase learns to just accept criticism of the show in the future because it's been really annoying having people call you horrible names just because you have valid opinions about a cartoon.
I still think Alastor "being black" is an after thought that came to the creator after people rightfully pointed out how that character doesn't fit at all with the culture she's appropriating, or how he clearly has motifs and themes from a different religion all together (I mean he's quite literally a "deer demon", able to change his form, eating rotten flesh on his downtime, it's giving "white ladies version of a wendigo" very much and not "Creole man from Louisiana who practices "Voodoo Hoodoo" whatever the fuck that means) The creator of the show has some good ideas, but really needs to learn to just be quiet at times instead of opening her mouth to say more dumb shit.
I think the sex jokes and vulgarity were not toned down even near the end, i really think they need better comedy writers on their staff team. It's unbearable to hear the same "haha sex joke" for the millionth time over the course of 8 episodes. Get different jokes at least please, sex can only be "hilarious" for so long. I find the comedy is at its strongest when its relying more on the over all personalities of the cast than who they're sleeping with or how many "parts" they have or what they do in bed etc.
The music is good, it's hit or miss sometimes but i definitely like a lot of the songs and the cast is really talented so they're carrying it. Is it "broadway" material? Absolutely not. But its good for what it is.
All in all, i didn't entirely hate it I guess? I liked it near the end, I hated those first 4 episodes and if they're gonna continue on with the same problems season 1 has, I really don't see this show going on for very long (especially not when the one in charge of it all plugs her ears to anyone criticizing it) I will tune in for season 2 because the ending has me a little intrigued, the show does shine when it's focused on the plot and not when it wants to fumble complicated themes and messages. I do want to see how they'll end this or where they'll take it etc.
So yeah that was Hazbin Hotel. It could use some work, like a lot of it. Meh.
