i'm actually sick of people ignoring or dismissing jews when it comes to jkr. either we're left out entirely, or an afterthought. you have got to start doing more than saying "kill nazis" to support us. at this point i don't actually give a fuck if you want to punch a nazi. what have you done to uplift jews? when i tell people in my life where i go to synagogue, they tell me they didn't even know there was one there. do you know if there a jewish community in your area? have you ever bothered to check?
i'm a trans jew in britain. it is so scary to be here right now. but it is also incredibly painful when i see waves of support for one facet of my identity and not the others. you can't pick and choose fractions of me that are palatable or acceptable to you. and cis jews also need support and solidarity.
stop pretending this vile woman's antisemitism is harmless. start including us in your activism.

a question about your recent dostotevkiy post (this i a genuine question, i am ukrainian too and despise russian literature with all my heart): shouldn't we shame, for example, shevchenko the same way too? i was reading kobzar this summer and the number of times he used "zhyd" and antisemitic rhethoric in his poems is. pretty high
again, this is genuine, i'm in no way implying shevchenko is worse than dostoyevskiy or that russian literature is something good
Hmm... Yes, I think we should; maybe not specifically shame (it would make no difference to a dead man), but critically reexamine the casual antisemitism in classical ukrainian literature? Yes. After all, this in particular is what irritates me about Dostaevsky stans - uncritical pink-tinted glasses consumption of his literature, being blindfolded by philosophy and overlooking the chauvinism.
And classic ukr lit... To put it lightly, a lot of times it gives me an impression of "russians are dirty, jews are greedy, poles are stuck-up, romani are dirty as well, and only we are good and hard-working and kind and beautiful, but oooooh so miserable and nobody loves us for some reason 💔" like shut the fuck up 🙄
A couple of years ago I went to see "Сто тисяч" with my mum. If you recall the plot, it is extreeeeemely antisemitic, there is no way around it. So the choice the director made was to hire an extremely charismatic actor for the role of the Jewish character, and at least for me personally it was 100% successful in making him so sympathetic and negating the inheritable harm of the stereotypes in the plot? (putting this into words makes it sound pathetic, I promise it's much more persuasive irl, you just have to be there)
But that is my opinion as a goym girl, I have no idea if ukrainian jews would agree with me on this, and that is the final thought I want to end on - this conversation must be lead by ukrainian jews. I am very happy that they are finally finding their place in the modern Ukraine, and I think it we are ready for this conversation and we can benefit from listening to their perspective.

The number of antisemites who unironically believe in "Big Pharma = Jews" makes me very weary of transphobes who go "bet you're in the pockets of Big Pharma!" to any trans person they meet. Like... I want to ask them who they think is behind "Big Pharma" and see how long it takes for them to be antisemitic about it
Ughhhh right???

Y'all remember if you see antisemitic hate speech in the notes of pro-Palestine posts to report that shit for violating the TOS. We do not give that quarter.

I can’t find that post which says that the occupation of Palestine is the result of western imperialism and not because of conspiratorial notions of “Jews running the world”. Because that was a good post. I wish I got a screenshot of that post to stick onto people.

Jewish people: Hey, this is antisemitic
Other Jewish people: Yeah, here’s an explanation and a source showing that this antisemitic thing goes back centuries
Goyim: I MUST ignore all former discussion from the first point and I MUST talk down to Jewish people concerning their own oppression

Wait.
Is pinochio antisemitic?? Long nosed wooden-skinned boy is not a real human and turns into a real human sounds like it could definitely be a hidden metaphor for jewish people undergoing forced conversion in the medieval era, as viewed from a christian-european lense??
Please tell me I'm just connecting dots randomly.

hey i know it's really popular right now but. are you guys aware the "i think we're gonna have to kill this guy steven" comic is about steven meeting Hitler. And you guys know rebecca sugar is jewish right. I can't declare it antisemitic as a goyische person and I'm not sure if jewish people have themselves but saying it "feels weird" is too generous

White House Officials to Meet Jewish Organization Leaders to Discuss Antisemitism
White House Officials to Meet Jewish Organization Leaders to Discuss Antisemitism
By Matis Glenn In the wake of high-profile personalities espousing antisemitic views, the White House is planning on holding a roundtable discussion with leaders of Jewish organizations on Wednesday, in information obtained by Jewish Insider. yknow what i think it's pretty fucked up that my instinctual reaction to hearing any mention of the holocaust is to brace myself for antisemitic talking points. in discussion about a jewish genocide.
holocaust inversion, universalization, minimalization, and denial are inexcusable in any context, and the fact that they've become this common is appalling on every level.

This shouldn't be a hot take but if I replace the word "zionist" with "Jew" in you post, and it now looks like an excerpt from Mein Kampf, I don't think you can call yourself left wing anymore.

[Link preview ID: a protester amongst a crowd of other protesters holding up a sign that says "Anti-Zionism is not Anti-Semitism." /End ID.]
The vote on this may be coming up this week. These officials are clearly very sick and tired of all the people in this country being able to mobilize and make our voices heard in support of Palestine's struggle. They're looking for a way to declare such actions hateful so they can try to shut us up. It's desperate and pathetic.

maybe tumblr will listen if i speak its language: remember in 2020 when we all had to sit down and realize that everyone has internalized racism? that everyone has prejudices even if they don't realize it? being antisemitic is more than sitting around wearing a swastika saying you want jews to die. take a look inside yourself and you'll find antisemitism there, too. it's time to address it.
