Encanto idea:
The whole Encanto realizes they never celebrated Mirabel's Quinceanera, and they only have one month left until it's too late (when she turns 16)
so they plan the party while Antonio distracts the guest of honor until it's time (isabella, Alma, and the villagers may or may not have lingering guilt for their treatment toward Mirabel)
It was a simple fact, even though it was horrifying.
Mirabel had not been given a quinceanera.
Isabela, at the time, hadn't questioned it. She was distracted by Mariano's hints that he would propose sometime this year and Abuela's cheer at the fact. Mirabel's birthday itself had almost slipped her mind. She had summoned a bouquet of flowers- multicolored, like Mirabel's creations- before distracting herself with practicing her reaction to said proposal.
Of course, said proposal had been a disaster, Casita had fallen down, and Isabela had discovered herself and rebuilt her relationship with Mirabel.
Which left a fact niggling at her brain.
Mirabel had not been given a quinceanera.
Abuela felt just as awful as she did about it. In fact, it was her idea to create a make-up quinceanera a month before her sixteenth birthday. It would be a little weird, but hey. All birthdays were weird.
And now Isabela was rummaging through Mirabel's closet, hoping to find a dress that she could take to the seamstress. A month was too little time to make an entirely new dress. The same day was too little time!
But they would make it work. They had made everything else work.
Isabela pushed past a few dresses. No, no, no. This one was already covered in embroidery, this one was too flat, this one had too little ruffles... "Come on, she's gotta have a good dress," Isabela hissed. "Somewhere, come on..."
She came to a stop.
The dress she stared at was flat without the petticoats and Mirabel to fill it up, but the design of embroidery candles, changing the soft peacock blue to a mixture of blue and gold, was show-stopping. No doubt. It was a quinceanera dress.
But why was it here?
"Isa?"
Isabela made a noise that she chose to identify as a yelp, whirling around and slamming the wardrobe shut. Mirabel stared at her with a brow raised, holding a stack of clothes. "Mirabel! Hi! What are you doing here?" Nobody could deny they were sisters with that last part.
"Uh...it's my room?" Mirabel cocked her head. "What are you doing?" Her brows furrowed together. "If you're looking for your black summer dress, I think Camilo took it."
"No, I'm not- Wait, what did you say about my dress-" Wait, no, she could deal with that later. "I was looking for something...else, when I found this." Isabela held out the quinceanera dress. "What is this?"
Mirabel glanced at it as she set the clothes down, the furrow in her brow easing to be replaced by it raising. "My quinceanera dress?"
"No, I mean, why do you have one?" Isabela maybe shook it a little bit. "We never threw you a quinceanera."
Mirabel's brow raised even higher. "Yes, we had one?" She sounded like she was ready to call for their mother. "I mean, you probably don't remember it, you were dancing with Mariano all night." What. "It wasn't a big community event like your quinceanera, but I wanted it to be small."
"...we threw you a small quinceanera?"
"Yeah?" Mirabel stepped forward, raising a hand to Isabela's forehead. "I asked Abuela if it could just be the family and some of my friends. She agreed but insisted we invite the Guzmans." Her brow dropped back into a furrow when she failed to find a fever. "I've always hated big public birthday events, but I like the Guzmans so I agreed. Isabela, are you okay?"
Isabela batted her hand away, panic seizing her heart. If that was true, than she and Abuela had possibly done something really stupid. Mirabel, according to the girl herself, hated big public birthday events and that was exactly what was being set up in the town square. "I'm fine! I just...don't remember your quinceanera, that's all."
Mirabel stared at her even harder. "The pictures are on the quinceanera wall," she said, slowly. "I mean, we don't all look at that wall every day, but it's there. Isabela, I think I should call Mami-"
"I'M FINE!" Isabela shoved past, setting the dress on Mirabel's bed as she passed. "I just remembered that I need to do something." She paused, glancing back at her sister. "I...uh...bye- ABUELA!"
Mirabel cried out behind her, but Isabela was already running.
Hopefully, to stop what was going to be the most awkward event ever.

How do you think the Husbands would handle having their wive’s gifts for a day? Or what would be the most fun girt swap you can think of?
I LOVE THIS ASK!!
Tumblr media
The husbands having their wives' gifts for a day would be a LOT. The Madrigals would ALL be freaking out, but Félix would try his best to keep calm and go about his day like usual. It's funny, considering how he'd try his best to get Pepa to not hide how she felt, but he wouldn't want to make her feel even more concerned about him throughout the day.
Things would get tricky with doing Crop Duty. It's exhausting to water a massive field with sheer sadness alone. So Pepa would tag along to get him to cry happy tears by joking with him, like he did when they first met. (my lil hc)
Tumblr media
Agustín would be excited! He wouldn't have to bother Julieta (who insists him that she doesn't mind) for snacks throughout the day when he'd inevitably get hurt. But healing himself was one thing. An entire town was another!
He'd need lots of help from Julieta and Mirabel with learning the recipes, making the arepas, and giving them out. By the end of the day, he'd be so exhausted he'd just want to lay on the kitchen floor curled up in a ball, too exhausted to walk upstairs to his room to sleep.
(I think Julieta's gift gets rid of the injury but less "obviously physical" ailments like exhaustion from physical exertion can still linger.)
But the most fun gift swap?
Tumblr media
Antonio gift-swapping with Luisa. The juxtaposition of seeing him go from a shy animal whisperer to his confidence growing and being able to lift an entire building would be fun! Also, I can see him making a game out of picking up Mirabel like she used to when he was younger. (I'm sure he'd cry over not being able to understand the animals, but he'd still be close to them, so this has angst potential)
Luisa would also LOVE having Antonio's gift! She has just as big of a heart as her little cousin, so she's definitely an animal person! She'd absolutely love being able to take care of them and understand them beyond just reading body language.

Encanto HCs #4 | Encantober Day 13: Fear
(Spooky) Movie Night | A year or two post-canon | 🦇🍿
@encantober-official
When Mirabel and Antonio had a spooky movie night, Mirabel let her younger cousin pick out what they would be watching. Despite being much younger than her, Antonio actually picked out a relatively scary horror movie all about kaiju-like vampire bats, all portrayed with dramatic, cinematic flair. (Not actually based on a real movie, as far as I know.)
Having not as much understanding of real-world vampire bats as her cousin, Mirabel was a little freaked out by the movie and its depiction of the little creatures.
Once the movie ended, and before she could grow to fear real vampire bats, Antonio introduced Mirabel to a few vampire bat friends in his room. He let her gently pet one of them and let her know vampire bats were not nearly as frightening as movies showed them as.

Encanto Headcanons!!
So I saw Encanto a few days ago and I literally have not stopped thinking about it so... HEADCANONS!
Some of these are specific to post-canon, some aren't.
One of the things being done to lighten Luisa's workload is Antonio just telling the donkeys to go back in the barn
Dolores didn't high-key snitch on Bruno living in the walls because she relates to knowing things other people don't want to know/don't want you to know
Camilo has a stash of tea somewhere for when Pepa gets stressed
Dolores' room has a bunch of things in it that muffle sound, but also a bunch of things that make interesting sounds
Pepa and Julieta's rooms have aspects of them which also cater to their respective husbands because of how important they are to them
Bruno's favorite game is chess, but he never follows the rules, he just starts making up ridiculous plotlines and derails everything like four moves in. Everyone learns to just go along with it.
Mirabel's glasses are magically reinforced (how else do you explain them not getting disastrously scratched up when she falls face first into a ton of sand?)
Isabela gets commissioned to dye clothing after she realizes she can
A good half of the village just calls Alma "abuela"
Luisa likes to do things like woodworking. The more delicate things don't always turn out the best, but she enjoys it anyway.

° I do truly wish you luck best friend
° You guys spend more time fighting over a movie to watch then you do actually watching a movie
° 6 people with very differing tastes good luck soldier
° Mirabel sneaks of to put the movie she wanted to watch in while you guys are still bickering
° You all protest but the intro is already playing there's nothing you can do about it anymore
° You'd been given the specific rule from Pepa to keep everything pg considering Antonio
° A rule that was broken within 2 seconds
° Dolores takes to covering his eyes and ears
° Isabela is very begrudgingly watching the movie Mirabel picked, ends up more invested then Mirabel herself
° There's a major character death and you almost get crushed by a very sad Luisa
° Julieta comes in every once in a while to check up on you guys
° It sure is a sight to see Camilo scramble to pause the movie when you guys hear her coming
° Other then the absolute chaos, it's a pretty cozy night
° Many cuddle pile, Luisa is a great bed, you find
° You guys end up watching a kids movie at the end of the night to make up for breaking Pepa's rule
° She still somehow finds out about it (Camilo accidentally let it slip) and sets out a punishment
° You, luckily are already out of the house by then
° You should do that more often

How about an Encanto Swap AU?
But instead of powers, we swap the canon Madrigal family (Post-Encanto) that grew up with an Abuela/Mama Alma with an AU Madrigal Family where it was Abuelo/Papa Pedro that lives.
It was the whole family that were transported to different worlds, only Alma and Pedro were left to their own worlds. Just imagine Camilo transforming into the 75y/o version of canon Alma and how the AU Pedro will react finding how beautiful her esposa should’ve been if she was alive- and vise versa. 🥹 And how the triplets and the grandkids would enjoy Abuelo’s company, but at the same time, it just isn’t the same without Abuela - and vice versa as well. 😅

mirabels birthday so here’s some headcanons !!!🦋💘
Tumblr media
- she zones out a LOT! whatever she’s working on/ thinking about takes priority in her mind so she accidentally gets so invested she could forget someone’s talking to her! (this doesn’t help in school)
- She’s a try hard on everything! probably stems from her giftless status but she gets frustrated if she can’t be up to standards! she ends up exhausting herself or burning out because she overworks herself!
- social butterfly! she’s a people person and loves talking to both the adults and the kids! she loves validation from the adults and being a role model to the kids!
- never stops talking😭 mirabels a professional yapper🙏 DONT ever ask her to explain what she’s working on because she will not shut up ever!!!
- carries around a sketchbook with her and goes to different parts of the encanto for inspiration! she might just doodle a motif or theme but it’s always something! she uses it later in her projects
- stealing @spooky-spextre-arts hc here but I love this one sm!! after Antonio’s plushie he tells the other kids and she makes a load of plushies for everyone!!
- she painted the mural in family madrigal! I think alma is aware mirabels artsy and would have asked her to do it! since it’s special commission that’s why the husbands are absent! mirabel was just so excited to be asked! Also it fits her art style
- she makes clothes! She designs them AND makes them!!
- she has friends! she’s incredibly social and I refuse to believe there’s only 2 teens in the encanto
- she likes cooking with julieta! even if she’s not the best at it she just appreciates the time with her mother!
- she helps Luisa discover her own style! since Luisa’s outfit is for work mirabel makes her other outfits to wear on her days off
- when she gets a crush she’s super annoying about it! Love language is acts of service!
- makes fun of camilo for being cringe (she is also cringe)
- Antonio is her fave cousin (this ones basically canon)
- a home bird!! she can’t ever picture herself leaving the encanto and this causes some friction between her and isa because isa does leave at some point!
- vents to casita about anything and everything (they are best friends)
- still struggles with opening up to people post movie. she’s not user to all the attention on her and gets overwhelmed often (she would never admit it)
- hates her birthdays (this one’s sad ik) but not only is it the anniversary of her ceremony but the day bruno left and in her mind the beginning of the cracks! she’s getting better but it’s still hard! (Her family spoil her for this exact reason)
- when she’s not playing music in the town she often plays with Felix and Dolores!

Day 10: Help
So, this is an excerpt from my other story... I, personally, do not think Dolores gets enough love. Her gift is somewhat problematical, and I thought perhaps she would endure her Gift just a little better if she could, in fact, do more with it. Also, HC that all the Madrigals were never using their Gifts to their full potential. So I fixed it with a little help from Mirabel.
Tumblr media
Dolores was just about to take a bite of her sandwich when she heard it. A collective of folks were really wound up and the overlap of the voices always meant trouble. She tilted her head and used her Gift to focus on one in particular. Señora Guzmán was shouting to someone. Probably from her veranda since her voice was not bouncing off anything.
(What do you mean missing?)
(Yes, have you seen them? They were supposed to come to my house for lunch today, but they did not come…) that was Alejandra's mother (…when I checked with Juancho and Cecelia's mother's they said they'd not seen them either. We've already checked all the places they normally go, and no one's seen them…)
"Dolores?" Abuela said when she noticed she was sitting frozen with her head tilted, mouth open, holding up her sandwich. Still listening, Dolores held up her other hand and set down the sandwich. She closed her eyes to shut out the sounds around her and let in a few more voices.
(…I saw them down by the school this morning…) Camilo
(When was that?) Alejandra's mother
(Uh…around nine, they were playing on the playground when I came out of the school around eleven thirty…)
(I can help too!) it was Antonio, he whistled, and Dolores winced, there was the sound of many bird wings (Pico, I need you and the rest of the birds to look for my friends…)
There was a squawk and chitter (Yes, those guys. They might be lost in the forest or something and maybe three calls if you see them…) additional squawking (Oh, you're right, okay send the others off, and you can tell Nadia too…)
(Camilo, what's happening?...) Tío Agustín and Mira together.
(Juancho, Alejandra, and Cecelia are missing. No one's seen them since they followed me to the school this morning…) Camilo
(Oh, thank heavens…) Señora Guzmán (Mirabel can you please go and let your Abuela know what's happening, and have her come into town with Mariano?…)
There was a pause then (Okay…) Mira said then another pause (Dolores, I know you're already listening. Can you let Abuela know? And then meet me in my room? There is something there I think you can help me with…)
Dolores opened her eyes and said, "Three children are missing, and they've started a search. Tío Agustín is helping to organize. Your mother," she said to Mariano, "is asking for you and Abuela to come into town."
Nadia, Dolores remembered was the head eagle in Antonio's room. Pico was coming, and she let out a squeak as she hurriedly got up and started for the stairs. Mariano and Abuela were up as well. "I will be right back," she said over her shoulder, "I have to open Antonio's door." She was sprinting now and pushed his door open in time to see Pico making a beeline for it, the bird landed just inside and began squawking furiously. There was an answering cry from the eagles and Pico promptly turned around and took off toward the forest. Six eagles in all swooped past Dolores and then things quieted, though there were more birds leaving her brother's room. Mariano and Abuela were looking at her from the plaza and Dolores said, "Mira asked me to wait here for her, so I will catch up with you both later."
Mariano nodded and headed for the door, Abuela hesitated for just a moment then she too started for the already open door. The door closed and Dolores went to Mira's room and gently knocked before opening it. Dolores came in and moved to the side. Someone else was coming and from the sound of the footsteps it was Luisa. She noted Casita had moved the furniture out to the walls and Mirabel was there just starting to roll up the carpet in her room with her back to her.
There was another knock and the door opened and Luisa stepped inside, "Mira, do you know what's happening? I heard Pico screeching all the way in my room. Is Antonio, okay?"
"Antonio's fine. He's with Camilo in town. Three other kids are missing though, and I came home so I wouldn't distract anyone who is searching." Mirabel sounded irritated as she struggled with the rug.
"Oh, right," Luisa said and took two steps and rolled the carpet in one motion, "Should I go help?"
"Thanks, no not yet I need your help with this," Mirabel said and stood up. She noticed Dolores and smiled. "Hi, Dolores."
Luisa turned and waved, "Sorry, Dol did not see you there."
"That's alright. What did you need me for Mirabel?"
"This," Mirabel said, hands on her hips. She was looking at the floor and for the first time Dolores noticed the small points of light moving around on it.
"Are those…people?"
"I think so," Mirabel said, "Only problem is we don’t know who is who."
"How can I help with that?"
"You know, I'm not sure, but I was thinking of all the times you rooted me out of whatever hiding place I'd picked to hang around in when I was little. I always thought I was being super quiet, but you always found me, no matter how far I went."
Dolores did remember. Mirabel had gained the habit of wandering off when she was sad after her Gift Ceremony. It did not matter who was looking after her, she was just really good at doing what she wanted. Dolores noticed it was Casita that was aiding and abetting her prima. Opening a door or the back gate. Most times she would go out in the woods behind Casita and sit in her favorite tree. She would cry as quietly as she could asking the tree why she wasn't good enough. After the first few months that happened, Abuela had Luisa pull the tree down, so she couldn't do that anymore. Mirabel would just stubbornly find a different spot. Each time Abuela would try to stop her from doing it by ruining whatever Mira built to make it her own.
While Abuela said it was so that Mirabel wouldn't get lost or hurt, Dolores was not so sure. She talked to her mother about it and her mother told her, from then on, to bring Mira back but to bring her to her Mamá instead of Abuela. Once Abuela started hyper focusing on Isabela she stopped caring where Mira was every minute of the day. It was hard to tell if Mira thought this was a good thing or a bad thing because for the most part, she did not interact with the family as much. Stuck at home she took to learning what Casita was saying, and sometimes she would play with Camilo, but eventually Abuela even separated her from him. So, it was just Casita Mira had to talk to.
Dolores remembered how once school started, Mira happy to be out and about, would often stay in town and play, mostly alone, trying her best to be that perfect non-magical Madrigal. It was right about then that Camilo started acting up in school, but it wasn't until later when she heard him talking with his prima on the way home that she realized why. If everyone thought he was in detention, then he could do whatever he wanted to before he would be expected to do chores. Her little brother had found a loophole and Dolores was not about to mess that up.
The door opened again, and Isa came in breathing heavily, "Okay, what…" she stopped and took a deep breath, "what are we doing?"
"You okay, Isa?" Luisa asked.
"Yeah, yeah, just ran all the way here. I'm alright," Isa said sitting on the bed. Dolores noticed Isa's heart was beating very fast. Faster than it should be.
Mirabel looked at her sister and shook her head. She turned back to the floor, eyes flitting about, and she said, "Dolores, do you think you can tell which of these might be Abuela, or Mariano or his mother?"
Dolores was now very curious if she could, in fact, tell where someone was just by listening but not being out in the town. This was something she never really tried to do without having a general idea of where that person was. She focused her hearing on the town and her eyes on the image. She heard Mariano's voice and could almost see his face as she smiled and pointed to a light that was moving through an alley. "That's Mariano."
"You sure?" Mira asked.
"Yes." Dolores said with growing confidence.
"Okay, Casita is there a way to label that light?" Mira asked. The tiles near the window clattered questioningly. "Yeah, words would be too long and hard to read, how about, I don’t know, maybe just his face?" Tiles bumped along with the floorboard and a tiny face appeared. It moved along the alley stopping at the windows and doors depicted.
"My goodness, that is just adorable," Mirabel said with a giggle.
"Mira there are hundreds of people in the Encanto, it will take too long to do this one at a time," Luisa said sitting next to Isa.
"Yeah, I know, but it is kinda cool though."
Out of curiosity, Dolores reached out and touched the light floating around with Mariano and pulled her hand back with a frown and small squeak, "That was odd."
"What was?" Mira asked.
"When I touched that light there," and she pointed, "it was not who I expected." Dolores had assumed it was Abuela or Mariano's mother. Turned out it was neither.
"You can tell who they are by touching them?" Luisa asked.
"Ummm, more like I can hear them," Dolores said, frown deepening.
"But can't you already hear them?" Mira asked.
"Yes, but that's not what I mean. I can only hear them. Everything else went quiet."
"Wow, that is odd," Mirabel said kneeling close to the floor and poking it a few times, "I don’t hear anything."
"So, who was it?" Isa asked from the bed.
"Acacia López," Dolores said flatly and almost felt angry. She knew Mariano was completely devoted to her, but she did not like the thought of that one being with him for any reason. Acacia was quite sure she was the one Mariano wanted to be with and had often said inflammatory and derogatory things to her about Isa's relationship with Mariano. She did not want to know what venom that one was spreading about her, so she made a point of not hearing her.
"That little snake," Isa said and slid off the bed next to her. "I should wrap her in vines and squeeze her 'til her beady eyes pop out."
Dolores suppressed a smile and gave Isa a gentle shove, "I don’t think that would be the best idea Isa."
"Oh, it would at least shut her the-"
"Guys, can we talk about this later?" Luisa said, "We are supposed to be working on finding those kids."
Dolores noticed that Mirabel had moved on to another section of town where no one was supposed to be living yet. There were a bunch of half-finished houses and though there shouldn't be any lights there; Mira said she thought she saw three tiny and very dim lights. It made Dolores wonder if that meant they were hurt.
"Dolores, come and touch these." Mira said waving to her and pointing to one spot in particular.
She did but shook her head. "I don’t hear anything, wait…" she said, brow furrowing. "No, I can hear breathing," she touched another, "All three are but it sounds too slow for little kids."
"I can go," Luisa said.
"Wait, there's one more thing, Dolores, I know this is gonna sound weird but if you can hear Mariano, maybe he can hear you?" Mirabel said, "Try it, and if he can, without freaking out, have him get Mamá and meet Luisa there."
Dolores nodded then tentatively touched the face of her beloved and said, "Mariano, can you hear me?" she took her finger off the face and heard; (Dolores?) "He can," Dolores said excitedly. "Oh," She put her finger back down and said, "Mariano, we think we know where the kids are. But they may be hurt, so you'll need to find Tía Julieta, Luisa's on her way now. From where you are now, go…ten streets west and look in the fifth house on the right." (I understand, mi amor) "He's on his way."
"I'm out," Luisa said and was out the door.
Dolores watched Mirabel as she paced watching the lights on the floor. Dolores had spent a little more time naming some of the lights and Isa was watching the tiny bodyless heads float about occasionally making tiny flowers appear in their hair. Dolores wondered if they flowers appeared in real life or if Isa was just dressing up the faces.
"They're out," Dolores said clapping her hands and smiling. Mirabel sighed and Isa threw some rose petals in the air. Dolores now focused on the three little lights as they moved further down the street. They were swarmed, by others, so she lost track of them. She touched Mariano's face and said, "Thank you, mi vida, is everyone alright?" (The children are with the doctor and your Tía. Once they wake up enough to eat something they should be healed. You will have to tell me how I can hear you when I know you are in Casita. You have learned something new, mi vida, that is so exciting.) And Dolores realized she had, all because her prima thought she could. (Dolores, since lunch was interrupted,) Mariano continued, (can you come for dinner?) "Yes." (Great, I will pick you up when I bring your Abuela home.) Dolores sat back and relayed everything Mariano had told her.
The clock chimed the five o'clock hour and Isa said, "Well guess that meeting's been postponed. Who's hungry."
"You could go start supper," Mirabel said.
"I could, but everyone would be afraid to eat it," Isabela said as she got off the bed.
"Why?"
"Everyone knows I can't cook."
"I will take my chances and I need to talk to Dolores about the thing."
"Okay hermanita, your stomach." Isa said and she was out the door.
"Mira everyone knows she's a disaster in the kitchen," Dolores said after the door had closed.
Mirabel snorted and deadpanned, "She wants everyone to believe she can't cook, but she used to make food for me and Luisa all the time when Mamá was out in town. Now Tío Bruno cannot cook to save his life."
"Mariano is on his way here with Abuela so what do you need to talk to me about?"
"Oh, well it's gonna take some time to explain and we'll need Camilo as well. How 'bout you come back once you're done, and I will explain it to you both then?"
"Alright Mira," she said standing up, "Oh, and thank you for today," she said gesturing to the floor. "I will be home by dark, so I will see you then."
"Great," Mirabel said as she walked with her to the door.

Questions answered by Jared Bush!
Tumblr media
“so it could be more.” 💀 💀 💀
Tumblr media
I CAN’T WAIT THAT LONG JARED YO ASS BETTER FESS UP AND TELL ME NOW!!!
Tumblr media
Now that…that just depresses me. Good thing Mirabel is such a good and sisterly cousin to Antonio. In this house, we stan.
Tumblr media
So I was right in my fic AIHY. 😕
Tumblr media
Interesting! 😳 It’s like they always say: You don’t need a gift to have a gift!
Tumblr media
LMAOOOO I love how everything Jared Bush confirms about this dude has to do with him being a teenager and nothing else. 💀 His entire character and personality is solely there to be the stereotypical teenage boy and nothing more and I am here for it. 🤪
Tumblr media
Awww that is so sweet! Reminds me of my fic when the granddaughters all camp out in Dolores’ room to have sleepovers! I need to shut up about my fanfic now.
Tumblr media
👀
And now for the unanswered ones because they are too funny not to put here.
Such as the queer ones.
Tumblr media
*w h e e z e* I assure you, nica, that Jared is not lesbophobic in any way however and I’m positive that we’ll see her girlfriend in a sequel or series! Or musical. Or all three.
Tumblr media
Ooh I would love that! 🤞 *winks thrice*
Tumblr media
Omg I’ma say it right now. I used to hc Dolores and Luisa as straight but now that I think about it the bi/pan Dolores hc is starting to have more and more appeal to me and this would just be so cute! Maybe a flashback where she’s shown having crushes on girls? Omg I’d love to see it! Mariano too is definitely pan. He said it himself. “I just have so much love inside!”
Tumblr media
I’ll answer for him: Yes. Because I’m also one. *’sup nods head at Isabela* Let ME tell you. Who needs Word of God when you have Word of Lesbian? Hmmm? 🤨
Now that that’s out of the way, moving on…
Tumblr media
😵‍💫 wtf I thought Ranma 1/2 fans were dead. Anyway in the words of their creator: “I don’t want to think about that, and neither should you.”
Tumblr media
Just…no comment.
Tumblr media
Omg I would love this! And unpopular opinion but I legit think that Mariano is smarter than he looks. I mean only Mirabel seems to think of him as dumb and only she calls him a “big dumb hunk”, like not even Isabela does that. And Dolores also fell in love with him for his poetry. And his grandmother says he wrote a song for the madrigals! I’d love to see the franchise continue to show his creative and artistic side more! I feel like he’d be the heart to Dolores’ head, and that is just beautiful.
Yeah that’s it for now, bye!

Play the part?? Slight twist on the movie, Mira finds out about Isabela's problems sooner, and, being Mira, she wants to help??
Going by your preemie!Mira hc, when she's sick, she's sick. So she knows in turn how to act sick and make in convincing. She does so, so all attention will be on her and Isa can go destroy her perfect image for an hour or two :D
play the part: [character] pretends to be sick – Mirabel (+ Isabela)
the secrets that you keep are ever ready
Mirabel couldn't believe it.
Her sister, her older sister, Señorita Perfecta Isabela, had a secret. She didn’t want to get married. She didn’t want to marry Mariano, yet she never told anything. Not Abuela, not their parents, not even Luisa.
Mirabel wondered if Dolores knew; after all, Dolores knew everything.
But the youngest Madrigal sister couldn’t believe she found out about it only because the rats told Antonio, and Antonio told her, and she swore him to keep it a secret, and she planned or doing something.
Maybe if she rescued Isabela from that awful situation she was in, their relationship would get better. Maybe it would help the Miracle, maybe it would save the magic.
Then her Papi found her in the nursery and saw the vision, and she was that close to telling him everything, but Abuela announced the dinner was ready and it meant the Guzmáns were there and there was no time.
So Mirabel decided to improvise. Always of weaker health and with a tendency to get sick quickly and easily, often pretty bad, Mirabel knew how to act when the need was. Sometimes, when she didn’t want to go to school, she’d pretend she was sick, and she felt bad for worrying her mamá so, but being born prematurely had some benefits.
As they sat down at the table, Dolores was staring at her, and Mirabel was staring back. Well, it was awkward, and as Dolores was close to breaking, Mirabel knew, she had no more time.
She coughed.
Dolores blinked, and Camilo looked at her as well, one eyebrow raised.
Mirabel grabbed the glass with juice and took a sip, immediately afterwards bursting into a fit of coughs.
Now, people were looking her way, and Dolores tilted her head, still staring.
“Are you alright, Mirabel?” Mariano asked.
It made Isabela turn her head as well. “Yes, are you alright?” she asked, though there was suspicion clear in her dark, barely narrowed eyes.
“Yeah, of course–” Mirabel wheezed, putting her hand on her chest. “It’s just–” she coughed deeply, to the point it sounded almost like a whistle. “Just a cough!”
Mamá looked at her with both eyebrows pinched together in concern. “Are you sick?”
“No, no,” Mirabel waved her hand absentmindedly. “It’s just... Something in the air...”
“Your eyes are glossy,” Dolores squeaked out quietly, the grip she had on her wine glass losening a little.
“Yeah? I don’t feel anything...”
She started thinking about the most embarrassing things she had ever witnessed in her life. She remembered tripping over her own feet and diving head-first into the fountain in front of the villagers. She remembered walking in on her completely naked tía Pepa in the bathroom. She remembered walking in on her parents doing... Stuff... When she was twelve–
And she knew her face got dark as a beetroot.
“Mi amor, you’re flushed,” her papá touched her forehead with the back of his hand. “Ay, you’re so warm!”
Mamá was by her side in a few seconds. “Ay mi vida, not this again,” she said, cupping her face with a worried frown on her face. “I think you’re running a fever!”
Mirabel shook her head, sniffling for a better effect. “That’s nonsense, mamá, I’m–” she burst into another fit of very convincing coughs. “I’m fine!”
“No, you’re not,” her mamá said firmly.
“I am! Oh, come on, I don’t wanna ruin Isabela’s perfect proposal dinner–”
Mirabel was almost sure she could hear Isabela gritting her teeth on her right.
Dolores squeaked again, her gaze flickering between Isabela and Mirabel, her eyebrows raised in confusion.
Mirabel was actually shocked when she felt a hand gripping her forearm. She moved her head to stare at Isabela who pursed her lips at her before turning her head towards the matriarch.
“Abuela, I think I should take Mirabel to my room,” she said in a calm, velvety tone, though her fingers dig into Mirabel’s arm. “She needs her rest.”
Before Abuela could answer, Mariano supported her on that. “Oh yes, the family member’s health should always come first!” he said, giving Isabela a dreamy, soft smile. “You’re such a good hermana, Isabela.”
Isabela smiled at him, patting Mirabel’s hand. “She’s the baby,” she said in a sweet tone, making Mirabel scowl. “It’s my duty as her older sister to take care of my youngest hermanita.”
Señora Guzmán gushed at it. “Oh, it’s amazing to see how close and caring all the Madrigals are!” she exclaimed and clapped her hands. “I’m sure we can postpone this dinner to when Mirabel is healthy and can take a part in this beautiful event, right, Alma?”
Abuela blinked, moving her gaze from both sisters to her friend. “Oh, of course, Andrea! One week won’t make that big of a difference, will it?”
“Of course not,” señora Guzmán said with a breathy laugh. “Love is very patient, isn’t it?”
It brought some chuckles from all the married (or formerly married, in Abuela’s case) Madrigals.
“Claro,” Abuela said with a smile, then looked at Mirabel, Isabela and mamá. “Julieta, Isabela, take Mirabel upstairs, por favor.”
And that was how all three of them found themselves in Isabela’s room, in her room full of flowers from the bottom to the top, so pink, and purple, and violet, and perfect, it was almost sickening.
Even mamá, to Mirabel’s smirk, looked a little overwhelmed by all the pastels as she glanced around.
Soon after Mirabel was placed on the bed Isabela created for her, and mamá left them, with a promise that she would return shortly with some medication for Mirabel, to make her feel better.
She barely closed the door, when Isabela put both hands on her hips with a scowl. “What was that?!”
Mirabel smiled innocently. “What was what?” she asked, coughing weakly. “I have no–”
“You’re not sick!” Isabela accused her. “Even you wouldn’t be able to get sick this quick!”
“You know I always was prone to sicknesses!”
Isabela’s gaze hardened as she tapped her foot impatiently.
Mirabel rolled her eyes. “Yeah, I’m not,” she said, sitting up and crossing her arms over her chest. “But I think you should be grateful because I just saved your ass!”
“Grateful?! For what? For ruining my life?!”
“I didn’t ruin your life!”
“You did! Mariano was going to propose to me, and Abuela was happy, and the familia was happy, everyone was happy but–”
“–you weren’t happy. You’re not happy.”
“What–”
“I know you don’t wanna marry this big dumb hunk.”
Isabela blinked rapidly, her eyes going wide. “What?”
“That!” Mirabel growled in frustration. “Antonio told me because his rats told him that they had heard you ranting to yourself last night about how you didn’t want to get married.”
“I–”
“You don’t love him, do you?”
Isabela was silent.
“You don’t even like him.”
Isabela shook her head. “I do like him. We’ve been friends since we were kids but...”
“You don’t wanna to be his wife.”
Isabela avoided her gaze. “No, I don’t.”
Mirabel shifted to the edge of the bed and jumped out of it, walking closer to her sister. “Then why did you agree to court him?”
Her older sister sighed. “It was Abuela’s idea and I...”
Mirabel felt enlightened all of a sudden. “You wanted to make Abuela proud.”
Isabela nodded.
Mirabel fell on her back on the mattress. “Wow,” she muttered, staring at the ceiling. “Who would think we had so much in common?”
“Oh, do we?”
“Yeah... We’ve always done everything to make Abuela proud.”
“Yeah...” Isabela agreed, and her tone suddenly got so soft, so friendly. “Yeah, I guess we have much in common.”
Before Mirabel could answer, half of their family burst through the door. Mamá and papá hurried her way with Luisa hot on their heels.
“Mirabel? Why aren’t you under the covers?”
Isabela groaned. “She’s not sick, mamá.”
“She’s not–” mamá repeated, clearly confused. “Please, someone tell me what’s going on because I think I don’t understand...”
Isabela opened her mouth to answer but Mirabel threw her arms in the air and looked at her parents with the most annoyed expression. "I pretended to be sick and I did it for her!”
“Mirabel don’t–”
Papá looked between them. “For her? Whatever you mean?”
Mirabel took a deep breath. “Isa doesn't want to marry Mariano."
The hell broke loose.

GUYS WE GOT AN UPDATED SYNOPSIS FOR THE OFFICIAL ENCANTO COMIC COMING OUT
Tumblr media
let me dissect this!!! Ok so it seems it’s not just one storyline like the previous one about the bully? it does say vol 1 making me think it’s multiple short stories slice of life style (COUGH this would make a perfect animated series) secret visions? I cant tell if that’s a reference to the movie or if there’s more secret visions? MAKING NEW FRIENDS AHHH!! this one got me excited I can think of so many characters it applies to like mirabel, camilo, Antonio, luisa, dolores. in my heart I want it to be about isa because hc she doesn’t have any real friends because like Mariano everything was to keep up madrigal image! I want Isa to have friends🙏 talent shows!! is this gonna be rat shows or family shows? imagine the whole family having a talent show stop!!! Felix would win btw! “Tall tales” I’m assuming that could be the bully thing since that refers to lies eg someone lying about a madrigal for personal gain or smth. let me know your thoughts !!!
