φιλία means soul connection
This is definitely not me trying to make up for missing your birthday, @lorei-writes 😄 I’ve said it already, but it’s never enough, you know, when it comes to words of admiration. You’re our local glue, the ultimate, the only, the unforgettable one who spreads so much love and positivity. I’m happy to be friends with you. So, take this present and don’t forget that I never ask somebody about their OC without the intention of spoiling them later even if it may take a year or two.
Characters: Asra x Little Witch of the Greenwoods
Promt: Pollen, pollen, pollen everywhere~
Tumblr media
“Look, this one is red! I’ve got it!”
“Yes, yes, I wonder how difficult it is with cards in your pocket.”
“Cards have nothing to do with it. It’s my intuition. Look, another one! Bet it’s gonna be yellow.”
“You’re pulling a card.”
“Yellow!”
It was August, and the city of Vesuvia was getting ready for the Night of Blossoming Iris to celebrate the end of the harvest season. On the night of celebration people poured out into the streets, and the whole Vesuvia was like one huge shining anthill. City roofs were covered with crystal garlands, bakers were delivering bread and mint butter, and musicians were playing lutes till dawn. When the celebration was in full swing, the Countess stepped on the balcony, lighting fireworks. They crawled in the sky like giant white snakes, turning into violets, dandelions, periwinkles, and their shining pollen was everywhere.
“Somebody got out of bed the wrong way, I guess.” His hand disappeared in the camp bag only to present Anna with a bundle. Smelling too good, to be fair.
“Just a little bit tired. Today the city was so busy.” She really hoped he wouldn't mention the blush touching her ears.
“I know how to help.”
“With…a poppy seed cake?”
“Of course. Is it possible for anybody to feel sad when they have a poppy seed cake?”
Anna closed her eyes. A familiar scent of woods in the stove, butter and sugar filled her lungs.
And then she thought about her.
Proud, with porcelain skin. Red hair wrapped around her thin neck like sables. She didn't know how to walk - only floated. In the evening she was with Asra at the shop. He held her hand. She laughed, all while being nothing but roses, chocolate and passion. Suddenly he got closer to tell her something, and that was when Anna lost it. Ancient vase dropped on the floor, sunflower seed blending with glass.
“Take it. You have a more suitable person to keep you company.” The witch jumped on her feet, looking hurt, being hurt.
“So, it wasn't my imagination.” The magician’s thumb found the spot on her wrist where veins were throbbing madly.
“That’s why you’ve brought me here?” She spent so much time in order to cover her scars, and  yet they still existed in the most oblivious place possible.
“I wanted to help."
Why can’t he see?
“Tell me everything, moja dusza.”
And that was the final drop.
“You were meant to forget me just like everyone else did. I named you first.” She was doing good. It didn't matter that Asra’s fingers were covered with tears when he gently brushed Anushka's face.
“...and then I changed it. Asked you to join me in hell. Because I wanted to. Because I…”
She gasped for air but felt nothing but ice fire in her chest.
“...love you.”
White snakes burst into the rainbow. Asra’s broad shoulders blocked the view. Anna was trembling when she felt hot lips on her neck curving into a smile. He kissed her tenderly, reaching the place where her heart was beating so fast.
“I thought the witch would be scary, but you’re more scared than I am. Anushka. I lov…wait. Deep breath, no panic!”
Ginger freckles on her cheeks turned hot red, and the witch raised her arms in defense. With that gesture green bunches of magic dropped, sweeping the couple to the coolness of the night lake.

Baazigar: The End !!
Before starting up with this blog, let me give you guys a quick recap of the previous blog.
So the last blog was about how  brutally lost in a declamation competition. If you haven't read it already, then please go through it once for some context of this blog.
Okay so, if you're born in India and have grown up watching Bollywood movies, then there's a 95%chance that you wish to be a popular Bollywood actor atleast once and I guess it's pretty evident from my blogs that I am a huge admirer of Bollywood and Hindi cinema. I do have that wish to become an actor and working in a movie with my favourite actor as my co-star and want my favourite singer to sing the movie's title track, but these are all mere wishes that aren't gonna happen irl .
Since I was in 5th grade or something , every year there was this ‘‘roleplay’’ activity and I was so fond of writing about my own stories and characters that I always ended up directing the play with the role of the story's narrator. Yeah, I never got to act in my own play (except this one time when I wrote a story on robots and no one in my group wanted to be a robot).
Anyways back to the story, last  academic session there was an English skit competition for both 9th and 10th graders, but apparently, 10th graders weren't auditioned because of their 'upcoming exams' . But no one really cared about 10th graders working at the backend, so when I got to know about the play, I wanted to be a part of it somehow, so about a week before the competition, my 'wish' got fulfilled and I was assigned the task of preparing the ppt for our skit.  I prepared a short ppt based on all the briefs I had (which was almost nothing ).
I remember there was a day off before the competition. (Let the competition be on Monday and the story continues from Saturday), I went to help the props team and then went on with the skit members to see the timings and everything associated with running the new ppt (the ppt I made didn't look that appealing to the teacher but fun fact that she ended up using my original ppt for the competition).
There I saw one of my juniors talking to the teacher so I went there and I got to know that one of the main leads of our play had quit the show at the very last moment!! So she(my junior) was there to give the audition. She spoke some lines from our play, which was an adaptation of the very famous play by Shakespeare, “The Tragedy of Julius Caesar ”, but the teacher didn't quite like her audition and asked her to do it one more time, so I tried to help her by demonstrating her how to say those lines and dunno why my teacher suddenly went like , “Haan, aap accha bool rhe ho, Anushka why don't you only do it!?” and I was like blank for a second and then she went on again but I tried to refuse coz of the stage phobia after the declamation and the other reason was that my parents won't allow me for any others activity now coz “ BoArD eXaMsS” then other play members, my senior and another teacher went on convincing me and I couldn't refuse them all so I agreed but I didn't know that I have to stay back in school till 4pm for practice!!!!
When my teacher told me this, the only thing in my head was “Gayii aaj toh..." Coz who will convince my dad now!! I went to this teacher who is pretty close to me and we don't share that formal teacher -student relationship and told her my story she knew my parents too and when I asked her to inform my parents coz I didn't have the guts to do so..even she was like “Yeh mere baski nahi bhaiya(my dad) tughe bhi daatenge aur mughe bhi!”(haan, mere papa ke gusse se school wale bhi darte hai!!) But someone had to inform so she ringed my parents and was lucky enough, as my mom picked the phone instead of my dad.
I prepared for the competition somehow and initially I was given only 3-4 lines, coz that's how much you can trust a newbie at the last moment, but then during the stay back there was a student whose role was given to me and he was given the role of the main lead, who left the play as he knew more about the storyline and all. He almost cried on stage and asked the teacher to exchange the roles again coz he wasn't sure about that new role and was more comfortable doing his previous role, so she looked at me and was like, “Anushka batao ab , aap krloge iska role? ” at that moment I felt like everyone's staring itno my soul and if I refuse at this point then they'll kill me and the title would become “The Tragedy of Anushka Garg ” so I agreed again .
I was  doing the role of Mark Antony now and if you know the play, then you might know that there's this huge monologue kinda dialogue that Mark Antony speaks after the death of his idol, Julius Caesar.
Once again, I was in a situation where I was not prepared at the last moment. The thought of the Declamation incident haunted me and I repeatedly practiced my monologue. Even on the day of the competition, I would ask all the members of my team to hear my monologue separately and look at my expressions and everything. I even arranged for some fake tears , fake blood to make the scene more realistic.
The competition day was very chaotic. We were the first ones to go on the stage and as soon as we started, we got to know that no one did the technical check at the auditorium, so all the audio attached to the ppt as background sound, which was the main attraction of our didn't  play and even the ppt got stuck multiple times , my roman headband got tangled up with the mic wire and I was literally pushed onto stage and couldn't even untangle or get the fake blood ready I started up my dialogue and then the play ended . All of us, as soon as we got off the stage, knew the results. The results were announced and out of the four teams, we came last (as expected) and we had even hoped for the first or second position tbh the only rank we hoped for was the third rank, i.e. we wished to come second last!
But that day, I didn't feel that bad after losing because we already knew that we weren't the best and I was happy that no one got stuck with their dialogues, and we completed the play although it was not as we expected due to the technical issues, but each one of us gave their best performance and no one could even really control the technical aspects.
That day taught me that one must win from one's own self and must not really bother about what others think about us, as they don't know what they have been going through.
Summing up my competition experiences through a poster :-

KL Rahul Weds Athiya Shetty: Another Bolly-Cricket Love Story
People in India are obsessed with Bollywood and cricket, having a high degree of glitz and glamor. Fans will go to any lengths to take a picture with their favorite cricketer or Bollywood star, and they will do anything to have a sight of them or to take a picture with them.
Tumblr media
Bollywood and cricket are linked because the celebrities who work in both fields enjoy a strong connection with one another. There have been many affairs between Bollywood stars and cricketers, and most of those couples have gone on to get married after a romantic relationship.
Some examples of these couples include Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, Geeta Basra and Harbhajan Singh, and many others. Most of these couples are enjoying a happy married life and the freshers to join the gang are the newly wed Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul.
Read our blog on "Stunning Wives of Cricketers From the Bollywood & Entertainment Industry" to learn about such sassy couples.
The Beginning Of Athiya And KL Rahul's Romance
Reportedly beginning their relationship in 2019, cricketer KL Rahul and actor Athiya Shetty were introduced to one another by a mutual acquaintance. In December 2019, the pair shared their first Instagram post, which quickly garnered much attention.
It was stated that the pair celebrated the arrival of the year 2020 in Thailand with some of their close friends. Fans kept wondering about the couple's relationship because they celebrated birthdays and vacations together.
After that, Athiya and Rahul shared images of themselves on their social media accounts, which led to speculation that the two were dating. Although the pair never acknowledged their relationship in public, they also never denied that it existed.
As fresh photographs of the couple circulated on social media, speculation about their relationship intensified. After that, Athiya started traveling with Rahul on the international tours of Team India. In 2021, Rahul and Athiya collaborated for an endorsement.
They were spotted advertising the luxury eyewear brand NUMI Paris. In December 2021, Rahul and Athiya made their first appearance in public during the film "Tadap" screening the following year. On the red carpet, they were seen walking hand in hand with one another.
When it was Athiya's 29th birthday, the couple made their relationship public when Rahul uploaded a post on social media that was specifically devoted to Athiya. Afterward, the couple can be seen posting their emotional images together on their respective social media accounts.
Shetty Anna's Reviews Regarding Daughter's Choice
Both Bollywood starlet Athiya Shetty, the daughter of actor Sunil Shetty, and cricketer K.L. Rahul have been dating for over three years. There have been multiple reports regarding the pair's wedding over the past few days, and it was reported that their wedding would take place soon.
Although the speculation about the wedding has been circulating on social media for the past few months, neither she nor Rahul has spoken. On the other hand, the actress's father, Sunil Shetty, has recently disclosed the actress's engagement to K.L. Rahul.
He went on to say that at the moment, Rahul is scheduled to play in several tournaments, including the World Cup, the Asia Cup, the South African Tour, and the Australian Tour, and that the couple plans to be married as soon as they have a break from their responsibilities.
When rumors began to spread about the marriage, Athiya responded to them via her Instagram story by writing, "I hope I'm invited to this wedding that's taking place in three months, lol." However, her father recently disclosed that he approves of their intentions to wed.
Celebration Of KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty's Wedding
On January 21, the festivities surrounding KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty's wedding got underway. The wedding festivities were held with a low profile to protect the privacy of the newlyweds. Though, immediate family members and close friends attended the functions.
Athiya and KL Rahul invited their guests for a sangeet the night before the wedding. During the celebrations, Suniel and his wife Mana, with Athiya's best friends Krishna Shroff and Akansha Ranjan, lit the dance floor on fire.
On the wedding day i.e. January 23, it was seen that the pair was color-coding their wedding attire. Anamika Khanna, a well-known Indian fashion designer, was responsible for the bridal attire of the couple. Athiya adored a chickankari lehenga in pink tones with embellishments.
She matched it with a full-sleeved blouse with a sweetheart neckline and an uneven hemline, and she topped it off with a semi-translucent dupatta. The actress finished off her ensemble with a maang tikka, a delicate kaleerey, and a hefty stone-studded choker with dangling earrings.
The newlyweds Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul appeared in front of the excited paparazzi waiting outside the venue. Following the conclusion of the ceremonies, the newlyweds made their way out of the restricted area to strike poses for the photographers.
KL Rahul was wearing an ivory sherwani to complement his new bride. The couple complimented each other exceptionally well and appeared to have a good time together. It has been reported that KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty will throw an extravagant after-party.
Rahul shared photos from the wedding and wrote, "'In your light, I learn how to love...' Today, with our most loved ones, we got married in the home that’s given us immense joy and serenity. With a heart full of gratitude and love, we seek your blessings on this journey of togetherness."
Kartik Aaryan, Alia Bhatt, Kiara Advani, Kriti Sanon, Parineeti Chopra, Ananya Panday, and Kareena Kapoor were among the numerous Bollywood superstars who were present to offer their wishes to the newlywed pair as they exchanged their vows.
Many famous people rushed to their social media platforms to send well wishes to a recently married pair. Anushka and Virat Kohli both congratulated the couple on their social media accounts. There are showers of blessings from both communities.
The newlywed couple will have a reception party in Mumbai for their pals in the industry and their buddies who play cricket for the Indian national team. The reception party will be attended by numerous relatives, close friends, and acquaintances.
Wrapping Up
MyRefers wishes the couple a very delightful married life and a serene bond of togetherness. Stay connected for more such trending news and articles entertaining you to the fullest and letting people get a sneak peek into the lives of your favorite celebrities.

New Delhi
✨ Greetings Everyone ✨
I am glad to share with all of you that this is my "first blog".
So, Ready, Steady, BLOG! :)
Hello to all the beautiful people out there. 💐🙏
I am Anushka, an undergraduate student of 1st year. Currently I am pursuing my degree in B.A. Program from India's one of the best universities i.e. University of Delhi. To continue with my intro I would like to share my hobbies with you. My hobbies include singing, dancing, writing, cooking, gardening, listening music and my most favourite one is painting. Whenever I am exhausted, painting works like a magic for me.
I like travelling to different parts of India and try out their main food. I even love gardening, especially with my father. He has developed a really beautiful garden. He grows organic fruits and vegetables in that.
Trust me, there's a different "joy" in that.
For a positive, bright and fresh start here's the first pic from my garden of a very beautiful Water Lily smiling in the bright sun.🪷
Tumblr media
If you are a nature lover too & getting curious to know more about my garden then do not worry as, I would be talking more on this in my further blogs and will share some more clicks of my garden.☺️
I would be posting about my college life, places I visit, my garden and would also love to share my paintings with you guys. I will be posting blog once in every week.
I don't have much stuff to write. So, that's it for today.

mirrors of melancholy
and then one day i ran out of blue and red and pink to paint my face with. my face bare and uncovered stared right back at me through the mirrors. how do you hide your flaws when you have no foundation left? how do you sharpen your eyes when you have no liner left?
i stood and stared at the naked me, eyes roaming all over the brown earth stretching over my skin and icy cold eyes. i saw the collarbone prominent and bare bordering the not so perfect curve of my neck. it wasn't beautiful. i hated it in fact. how do you highlight your cheekbones when you have no golden fairy dust left?
i hated how the brown blended into my bones with such smoothness that i almost felt camouflaged in the dark. i hated how my brown eyes were everything but warm when they should've been sweet like honey. people tell you that the chocolate skin makes you exotic and then write stories about women with milky white skin and blue eyes.
they tell you the brown makes you beautiful and then smile and say how you'd look so much prettier if you were just a bit fairer. they'll tell you that they love themselves a chocolate dessert after dinner and then proceed to lay in bed and write poems about women with rosy cheeks and icy white skin and green eyes. they tell you that brown is beautiful and then proceed to apply a foundation a shade lighter.
how do you get rid of the colour you were anointed in? do you scrub it off furiously everyday while praying you were more beautiful or do you worship the brown like the earth and let it sink into your soul? do you sharpen your eyes and paint your lips and rub away at your face to make your cheekbones look brighter, to make your eyes look warmer and to make your lips look tempting?
or do you wipe away the red and blue and gold and pink from your face? do you stare at yourself in the mirror and feel an earthly magic in the brown of your skin or do you feel a melancholy in watching the unholy, dark brown of your skin? do you ever see yourself in the mirror?

ok well :/ the resting place was not good
Spoilers obviously
Was VERY slow and didn't have much happening. I was not a fan of the separate time periods being a narrative style AGAIN, and the translation this time was very poor and made the writing much clunkier than The Lost Village, but I could deal. It happens. Anushka's story was interesting after all. What I could not deal with was waiting almost 200 pages for something to happen and then for the big reveal to be the real antagonist was Carina, Eleanor's therapist who was only mentioned in passing ONCE several pages before, has a long and unnecessary standoff of "I didn't want to do this", and then actually she's this one other character you never would've made a connection to if it wasn't told. The finaly confrontation wasn't even good. It was so rushed and unsuspenseful! Definitely disappointed considering how much I loved The Lost Village 😔

7 Comfort Movies
@hughungrybear ilysm tagging me in this
I'm not really on the movies side of media but I'll let y'all know that once upon a time when I was straight i was a movie freak okay so without further bs
(okay so I realised the movies I've watched are all in hindi💀 because I was a movie freak before covid and after that I started other language stuffs 💀 so)
1. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan
Ayushmann Khurrana as Kartik Singh and Jeetu as Aman Tripathi
Tumblr media
this was the first queer movie I've ever watched. and this is also India's first mainstream gay movie. and the amount of comfort I got from this is unparalleled.
2. Taare Zameen Par
Darsheel Safary as Ishaan Awasthi, Aamir Khan as Ram Shankar Nikumbh (this man here is a genius. his stories are so good and has such nice social messages-)
Tumblr media
a little dyslexic boy is misunderstood by his family (as usual🙄) and is sent in a hostel BUT AN TEMPORARY ART TEACHER THERE UNDERSTANDS HIM
I can't watch this movie much because this makes me so sad and-
3. 3 idiots (jshdjddj I swear I didn't plan it on writing it at 3 it just happened)
R. Madhavan as Farhan Qureshi, Aamir Khan as Rancho and Sharman Joshi as Raju Rastogi
Tumblr media
I've lost count how many times I've watched this movie it's just so good. just the right amount of comedy and seriousness and it's about the pressure in the education system in a college setting
4. Chhichhore
too many actors so.. just a little tribute to the one who died trying. Sushant Singh Rajput as Aniruddh Pathak
Tumblr media
this again talks about the pressure of education system, and depression and suicide, and hope. one thing I would like to roughly quote is, "Everyone has a plan after achieving success but if you by chance fail then how you need to deal with failure, no one talks about that."
5. PK
Aamir Khan as PK, Anushka Sharma Jaggu AND Sushant Singh Rajput as Sarfaraz Usuf
Tumblr media
(y'all must be thinking (I mean if you even read upto this that is) not aamir khan again. and yep valid jrgdjrhd but I love his movies)
again a movie idk how many times I've watched. but this is about religion. (and an alien on earth)
.......so yea that's all I could think of :)
tagging all my mutuals pls do this

To you,
This is probably my last letter (or the lack of it) to you. I need to move on; writing letters doesn’t help anymore. To be honest, I don’t have a lot to say, except-
1)I miss you, but I don’t want you back.
2)Loving you has become exhausting, I’m loosening my grip now; i should’ve done that earlier.
3)A part of me will always love you, and I’ll let it. I’ll love you, from a distance. In that distance, we’re still us-we will always be.
4)I’m happy to have known you, to have loved you, to have been a part of your life. But I deserve more than “have been”s and “used to be”s. I deserve more than the remnants of your presence.
5)I don’t blame you. Things end, it’s okay.
6)I hope your heart heals.
7)I will remember you as a bittersweet memory. I’m thankful for both, the ‘bitter’ and the ‘sweet’: they’ve taught me a lot about loving and being loved.
8)You can knock on my door but don’t expect to find home. It’s not the same anymore.
9)Doing this is hard but my heart needs it.
10)Goodbye, finally? Finally.
Yours no longer,
Me.

A mix of I wanted to finally pick this one up, and it being a TBR jar pull.
4/5
Tumblr media
This follows a woman who witnessed the murder of her grandmother. And even though she was face-to-face with the killer she doesn’t know who it was and she can’t even tell the cops what they looked like. She has face blindness. (prosopagnosia).
After reading The Lost Village from this same author, I really wanted to be able to read more of her stuff. This came out last year and I’ve had it since. I feel so bad that I’ve let it sit on my TBR that long.
This one was good, I had already tried picking this up last year when I got it and didn’t find it interesting; I am super glad I kept it around. It was interesting, and I found out I really enjoyed it. The main character’s face blindness made this kinda paranoia inducing. It was very atmospheric and the writing was good. It also had two mysteries in it because she inherits her grandmother’s childhood home, which she never even knew about before now, it’s also the home where her grandfather died under odd circumstances.
You get two POVs, Eleanor the main character with prosopagnosia; and you also have Anushka who adds a past timeline to this story. I also know some people pay attention to how long the chapters are (while personally I don’t care but prefer longer ones) this book has short chapters.
I really enjoyed The Lost Village way more than this one, but that’s because it’s a documentary and found footage type story. I also just in general love authors who are from Sweden and write Swedish fiction.

What if our Artistic Expressions were Stifled?
"Art, in its various forms, has always been a powerful means of defying suppression. It possesses the ability to transcend boundaries and challenge the norms imposed upon us. It grants us the freedom to explore our innermost thoughts, emotions, and desires, giving voice to that which cannot be expressed in words alone. It allows us to communicate, connect, and evoke profound emotions in both ourselves and those who witness our artistry."

How to Rock the Latest Fashion Trends in 2023
Hello, fashion lovers! Welcome to my blog where I share my passion for all things stylish and trendy. In this post, I’m going to show you how to rock the latest fashion trends in 2023, from barbie-core to stealth wealth. Whether you’re looking for some inspiration for your next shopping spree or just want to spice up your wardrobe, I’ve got you covered. Let’s get started!
Barbie-Core
Barbie-core is a playful and nostalgic trend that embraces the iconic doll’s signature style: pink, girly, and glamorous. Think pink dresses, skirts, tops, jackets, shoes, bags, and accessories with lots of sparkle and shine. You can also mix and match different shades of pink for a monochrome look or add some black accents for contrast. To channel your inner Barbie, check out Anushka Sharma’s pink and black Prada look at Cannes1 or Irina Shayk’s sheer black lingerie at Cannes. You can also shop for some barbie-core pieces from brands like Versace, Gucci, Prada, and Moschino.
Stealth Wealth
Stealth wealth is a trend that is all about quiet luxury and understated elegance. It’s the opposite of flashy logos and loud prints. Instead, it focuses on quality fabrics, classic silhouettes, neutral colors, and minimal details. You can achieve this look by investing in timeless pieces like tailored suits, coats, sweaters, trousers, skirts, dresses, and shoes from labels like Max Mara, Totême, Tory Burch, and The Row. You can also take some cues from the Succession cast’s outfits or Princess Kate’s pink Alexander McQueen power suit.
Madras Checks
Madras checks are a type of plaid pattern that originated in India and are typically made of cotton or linen fabrics. They are perfect for summer as they are lightweight, breathable, and colorful. You can find madras checks in clothing like shirts, dresses, shorts, pants, jackets, and accessories. You can wear them with solid colors or mix them with other prints for a fun and eclectic look. To embrace this trend, you can shop for some madras check clothing from your neighborhood darzi or brands like Ralph Lauren, J.Crew, Tommy Hilfiger, and Mango.
Kitsch
Kitsch is a trend that celebrates quirky and whimsical elements in fashion. It’s all about having fun and expressing your personality through bold colors, prints, shapes, textures, and embellishments. You can find kitsch in clothing like tops, skirts, dresses, jackets, shoes, bags, and jewelry. You can wear them with simple basics or go all out with more kitsch pieces for a maximalist look. To rock this trend, you can look at Natasha Poonawalla’s sultry and sheer Gucci top and skirt set at Cannes or Natalie Portman’s revival of one of the most famous Dior gowns of all time at Cannes. You can also shop for some kitsch pieces from brands like Gucci, Dior, Moschino, Miu Miu, and Dolce & Gabbana.
