This is definitely helping me nail down what exactly my characters look like, you can see a little incongruity between each drawing as I'm figuring it out.
Anyway, have another expression meme, featuring Anwedd :D

Anwedd, the lady of tears.
A spectral woman who haunts the Cloaked Mountains of Scyda, singing elegies to the dead, rich and poor alike. Local folk lore claims that the Pool of Tears was filled by Anwedd in the span of a hundred years of continual weeping.

I am SO CLOSE to finishing pre-production for Songs of the Fallen!!
I realized all of the sudden that I have everything (almost) set up to where I can start actually making pages.
I got so excited I went to track down the first ever Songs of the Fallen sketch, and found out that either tumblr ate the post, or I never actually posted it ajfhalfhakljakl
ANYway, I ended up sifting back through all of my old sketches and drawing and doodles (massive blast from the past) until I finally found it! I didn't date the original sketch, but there were other sketches on the page that I was able to trace back to August of 2019.
... I have been working on this project for almost FIVE YEARS
And I'm finally about to actually start making and posting pages!
There are still a couple things I have to do—like make an official banner and poster—and I probably won't start officially "airing" SotF until I have a handful of pages done and ready (just so that I have a backlog and I can post regularly even if life happens afjafhdakj) but even so—five years and here we are. The journey is about to begin.
And here's those sketches from way back when,
The original concept included the idea of banshees not as frightening, sleep-deprived, screaming monsters, but as more angelic creatures who mourn the dead by singing them to "sleep" with a lullaby sort of elegy. This idea evolved into the character Anwedd, along with the creation of Ryphl, a boy who almost died and heard the banshee's song, but miraculously survived.

Rough concept art for The Banshee Anwedd.
"These second chances, I don't take them for granted.
Lord knows I'm grateful, but sometimes I can't stand it!"
