Psychiatrist Follow-Up
My psychiatrist has no idea why my depression has worsened to such an extent. I was doing well for a while and then shit just crashed and burned. He is now having me take the max of Zoloft and will see me again in one month to see if it has helped, gotten worse, or stayed the same. If worse or no change then he will add something else. The Zoloft is working because my anxiety is better. But it is not helping with depression anymore.

Photo by @mentalhealthremix This is the one breathing technique I always try to remember when I'm really anxious. It has saved me from having an anxiety attack a few times. It scientifically works to switch your brain out of fight or flight mode. When you first try this technique it will feel like you can't breathe out to the count of 8, but just keep doing it and it will get easier. If I'm doing this to try to prevent an anxiety attack when I feel one coming on I usually do it for a few minutes straight. The really hard part is to even remember it when you are feeling that anxious, so it's good to practice doing it when you're feeling anxious but not to the level of an anxiety attack too. Please note that I am neither a scientist nor any kind of therapist or medical professional. I'm just sharing an important technique in my mental health toolkit from my own experience. Panic Attack:

Trigger: Panic attacks can occur without a specific trigger or can be triggered by situations or objects (e.g., agoraphobia) that the person perceives as threatening.
Cognitive Symptoms: During a panic attack, individuals may experience a sense of losing control or going crazy.
Duration: Panic attacks typically last for a short duration, usually around 5 to 20 minutes, but their effects may linger for a longer time.
However, there are numerous “online counseling” platforms and mental health resources available that connect individuals with licensed counselors and therapists.

Sleep issues ☑️ On Edge ☑️ Avoidance ☑️ Over planning ☑️ Negativity ☑️ Lack of focus ☑️ The only one I’d say I’m not doing right now is anger. But I have been experiencing some severe anxiety lately. When I know I need to do something important that means a lot to me, and I continually delay it out of fear, as I have been, this happens. The anxiety intensifies and worsens. Usually when I just rip the bandaid off the face it, it’s a release and I wind up feeling a million times better. But until then it’s like self inflicted torture. I’ve done this even with simple things like going to the dentist. It’s de habilitating and I can’t seem to accomplish anything. Anyway, I’m not sure if I’ll ever get past this.
