And the top 10 new-to-me films of 2021! It was a year with stiff competition, and I could have easily done a top 25 without breaking a sweat. But you have to draw the line somewhere. Here’s the ten, in alphabetical order:
Tumblr media
Charade (1963) Utterly incomprehensible to me that it took me until this year to see this. Audrey Hepburn‘s wardrobe is unreal, silver fox Cary Grant is truly making the best use of his talent for charm + mild danger, fun dialogue, diverting mystery, Hitchcock vibes without being Hitchcock. Loved it.
Tumblr media
Emma. (2020) Even if there was nothing else good about this film, it is so stunning to look at that I might not have cared. Luckily, it’s also very funny and charming. Anya Taylor Joy really nails the combination of self-absorption and vulnerability that makes Emma so arresting and infuriating. Johnny Flynn’s frustration as Knightly is palpable. Sometimes, I too just want to lie on the floor. Do Northanger Abbey next, Autumn de Wilde!
Tumblr media
The Green Knight (2021) This is the only movie I saw in a theater this year, and if it had to be only one, I’m glad it was this one. Immersive and weird and memorable, centered around an indelible performance from Dev Patel. I made my family listen to the score under the guise of “Christmas music” because I love it so much.
Tumblr media
Haider (2014) Not everyone is as into Hamlet as I am, I grant you, but this adaptation knocked me out. The first hour feels slow until you realize it’s a slow burn and that the entire story is eventually going to explode. (More or less literally.) The adaptation of the play within a play is maybe my favorite approach to that scene in any Hamlet film. Tremendous.
Tumblr media
Paddington (2014) and Paddington 2 (2017) OK, it’s sort of cheating to count these as a single spot on the list, but I watched them together and I couldn’t imagine cutting this little bear for space. I’d heard raves, especially for 2, but I was unprepared for the pure level of joy these movies created. Absolutely no notes.
Tumblr media
The Rider (2017) I knew nothing about this film going in, and it fully murdered me with feelings. I’m glad Chloé Zhao picked up her Oscar for Nomadland, which was also lovely, but I slightly prefer this one. It is wild to me that this didn’t even make it onto my radar in 2017. Slow, sad, and stunningly beautiful.
Tumblr media
Rocketman (2019) I’m very picky about both movie musicals and biopics, so I didn’t rush out to see this when it was released. I was a fool. This movie is a delight, using the musical numbers in a way that’s both well-thought out and genuinely fun. Egerton’s performance is warm without being maudlin, and the story is well-shaped by the script and the editing. The costume design is next-level.
Tumblr media
Sound of Metal (2019) Another slow, sad one. I already admired Riz Ahmed, but the subtle nuances he portrays here blew me away. Paul Raci richly deserved his nomination too, and their scenes together were unshowy but I’m still thinking about them months later. And, of course, the sound design is bonkers good.
Tumblr media
tick, tick ... BOOM! (2021) Look, I’m as surprised as you are that there’s a second musical biopic on this list. But Miranda took a loving and thoughtful approach to actually adapting, rather than faithfully recreating, the stage show. In doing so, he both pandered to this film’s presumed audience of old millennial/young Gen Xer former theater kids, but also made a genuinely strong movie centered around a standout performance from Andrew Garfield. What do you know.
Tumblr media
War and Peace (1966) This movie is fully bananas. It is seven hours long, there are thousands and thousands of extras in the battle scenes, the colors are wildly intense, everything happens so much. I fully loved it. If I get the chance to see all seven hours in a theater someday, I’ll do it in a heartbeat.

I always forget to do the games that I’m tagged in, so I’m really happy that I actually managed to finish this ahah
Anywayyy, I was tagged by the wonderful @benoitblanc & @stormbreaker (thank you arwen & roh !!) to do a content creator year in review!
first creation and most recent creation of 2020:
I basically only started giffing properly this year and there’s been a lot of improvement in my ps techniques and general editing style (although I still look at creations from like three months again and go eww). My first creation was this shoddy green avengers: endgame set and my most recent is this luke/vader entrance comparison (on this blog)
one of your favourite creations from 2020:
I think that’d either have to go to my anakin/obi-wan appreciation edit or this Natasha set simply because both of these were definitely learning curves for me, and unlike most of my gifs I like how they turned out!
a creation you’re really proud of:
I went through a phase of making move gif sets focusing on a pairing of colours so I think I’d have to say this aotc set because I like the colours I used (and I made it at like 1am after writing an assignment that wrecked my brain)
a new style you tried this year and a gifset that uses it:
hmm, probably the giffing with multiple gifs using shapes?? So this Steve edit maybe because that star took some gif dimension calculating that made me want to yeet my laptop out the window
a creation that took you forever:
I don’t think I will ever emotionally recover from this set inspired by @anya-chalotra ‘s trend setting gif making techniques. The thought process behind this has aged me, but it also VASTLY improved my ps skills in a short amount of time so thank u for the inspiration Ava!
your creation from 2020 that received the most notes:
this yellow to green gradient spirited away set (I think it’s my most reblogged post too so yeah everyone seems to love studio ghibli.. including me)
a creation you think deserved more notes:
hmm, I feel like once I make a set I just forgot about it after a while if it flops lmao, I don’t need that failure to stay in my thoughts asjkfdh if I had to choose a set I’d say this anakin skywalker edit mainly because anakin deserves at least 1k ahah
a creation with a favourite scene/quote:
this has to go to my i have nothing to prove to you rainbow women edit I don’t know where the idea came from, my brain must have peaked then.. it’s only downhill from here
a new fandom you joined and a creation you made for it:
I’d been a fan of star wars since I was little, but I’d never actually made creations for it. A lot of the ones that I made recently were for the Prequels Appreciation week hosted by @anakin-skywalker (because before all else I am a prequels hoe) so I’m just going to say an example of that is any of the posts I made for that (and I’m pretty sure I’ve tagged them all in this so oop)!
a creation you made that breaks your heart:
maybe this anakin/padme/obi-wan set simply because although that quote was said originally by obi wan, it’s tragic to know that it fits them all perfectly.
a ‘simple’ creation that you really love:
this pink/blue edit that I thought was ugly at the time and now I’m like I’ll probably never be able to make a set like that again because I have no patience asjkfd
a creation that was inspired by another one (add both your creation and the one that inspired it!):
I’m forever inspired by the current techniques that gifmakers use so I’d have to say basically everything I make is at least inspired in some way by someone else aha?
a favourite creation created by someone else - I think if you ever see how much i word vomit in the tags daily, I am in awe at every single edit I see. The creativity and dedication that so many people have on here is inspiring, so here’s a select few that I particularly liked (I could literally go on forever so this was hard)
daenerys edit by @time-turner - i mean, how do i even begin? Each gif displays a different style of talent in gifmaking whether that be through the use of shapes, blending/overlaying gifs or different text effects and it’s just so so so beautiful
the times of day witcher set by @anya-chalotra - i don’t think i will never not be in awe of this edit. The thought process behind this is just incomprehemsible, I don’t even know where this idea came from but the execution is stunning. I especially love the isolation of colour in their eyes.
geralt of rivia yellow &b/w gifset by @rubyredwisp - the contrast between the selected colours is gorgeous, and the way the shapes are used to overlay the gifs is executed perfectly.
tony stark rainbow edit by @stardustony - vero always has stunning colourings on all of her edits, and this one certainly isn’t an exception. Just absolutely beautiful, there are no other words to describe this.
spider-man edit by @momentofmemory - the talent in this set is unreal. Excellent font choices and blending of the gifs, so so seamless & creative.
stranger things s3 rainbow set by @meliorn - as someone who loves colourful gifs as much as I do, a content creator appreciation list would not be complete without one of alice’s edits. The colouring is out of this world, and those shapes that are included in every other gif just bring the whole edit together so smoothly, and just add a whole other level of creativity.
star wars rainbow edit by @anakin-skywalker - talent, creativity, colour, dedication, this edit has it all. Absolutely stunning, the way each colour transitions so smoothly into the next one within this gradient is just wowwee. I could look at this all day.
some of your favorite content creators from the year
content creators have just totally transformed my whole fandom experience, and especially during this year I feel like tumblr has been such a safe place for me?? I admit I’m not the best at always getting back to everyone on time, but just getting to know a lot of you or seeing the creations everyone has beeing maing throughout this year has been such a positive thing in this mostly negative year. So thank you!
@anakin-skywalker @timothyolyphant @time-turner @yenvengerberg@kamalaskhans @anya-chalotra @seance @stormbreaker @wandamaximoffs @ewan-mcgregor @meliorn @benoitblanc @rockyblue @withered-rose-with-thorns @bartonclinton @coulter @captainhandsomes @jackmans @bladesrunner @clintfbarton @daenerys-targaryen @soka-tano @kkastle @darthanckin @ourteeth
and for good measure, another a couple more creations of yours that you love:
this orange/blue catws set (just ignore how bad the quality is, my sharpening skills were not great then), this natasha edit & rainbow aiw edit
tagging everyone tagged above (feel free to ignore seeing as I posted this on the last day of the year asjfdhjk)

“Glass” Movie Review
“Glass,” directed by M. Night Shyamalan is a film almost 20 years in the making. Ever since watching “Unbreakable,” I wanted a sequel and expansion to the universe that was set up, but sadly it did not come to fruition. Then, seamlessly out of nowhere, “Split” comes out nearly 17 years later and ignites my hopes again and then this movie was announced months later. So, does it live up to the anticipation?
In short, yes. Yes it does live up to the near 20 year wait and it is one heck of a movie. What “Glass” does so well is expand the universe and brings this amazing set of cult classics to a satisfying and unexpected conclusion. It’s a film that finds a sweet spot between the brooding and meticulous pace of “Unbreakable” and the more swift and haunting progression of “Split,” while also having its own level of energy and intrigue.
Shyamalan put a lot of love and care into this film. It's one of his most sympathetic films and I commend him for the direction he takes it. He’s so sure of what he wants and he delivers just what he promises. His use of music and camera framing delivers on the emotions that he wants you to feel. It portrays the action and mystery and keeps you invested the whole time. It’s layered with a good amount of humor and heart. There are some silly moments and some parts that aren't explained very well, but in the grand scheme of things, they’re almost inconsequential. They don’t take away from the finale, but make you scratch your head a little.
The best part of the film, aside from the music and action, are the the actors. Bruce Willis actually gives a hoot and it’s great seeing how far his character has come since the first film. Mr. Glass, a.k.a Samuel L. Jackson, brings the same level of menace and pretentiousness that he had before albeit there are a couple questionable moments and revelations with him. Sarah Paulson is great and brings a dynamic that felt natural and a welcome inclusion. She plays off of the other 3 characters incredibly well. Anya Taylor-Joy and the rest of the supporting cast from “Unbreakable” are in here and are really great and integral to the plot, even though they’re not in it as much as I would like. However, the star and the real spectacle of the film is James McAvoy as “The Horde” or Kevin Wendell Crumb. He’s fantastic and changes between 24 personas with such easy, it’s almost unreal. He deserves all the recognition he can get. It’s just a stunning performance that I think not even the best in the business could pull off.
“Glass” is a great movie. However, it is a movie that I can see not resonating with a lot of people. The ending is a bit daunting, but if you go with the flow, you’ll have a blast. Also, if you’re unfamiliar with “Unbreakable” and “Split” it can be hard to get into, so I highly recommend watching those two other great movies. It is definitely a movie for the fans of his franchise.  There are so many throwbacks and references that actually had me giddy with excitement.
Overall, “Glass” is a great movie that honors comic books and superheroes, but also promotes compassion, sympathy and respect. It is a satisfying conclusion to a near 2 decade films series in the making that delivers on everything promised. It’s filled with action, humor, mystery, and heart. I give it 4.5/5

Fear and Loathing in FS thread or What’s Wrong with Eteri Tutberidze
Disclaimer by me: Sports.ru is a fan web resource full of very toxic people who move from love to hate very easily. They are ready to spend their nights on the site writing mess things about athletes. Why? I don’t know. This article is about disappearing Russian skaters and the faults of Tutberidze, written as reply on the article “What’s wrong with Medvedeva” and also as reply to all toxic haters in fs fandom. A lot of sarcasm here. Please, beware.
«Hate is easier than love. Hate can be explained.»
Prehistory. For those who joined fandom during the Olympics, and do not really understand what’s happening.
In the previous series:
ep.1. On the eve of the Olympics, the story of one cycle. Pre-Olympic seasons 2015-2017.
In the lead roles (titles and age as for May 2018):
Elizabeth «she smoked live on Periscope, ew!!!» Tuktamysheva, World Champion 2015, triple Axel, 21 years old.
Tumblr media
Sports.ru hates her for «disgusting programs» , «extra weight»  and laziness.
Elena «fat cheeks, left Goncharenko (her coach), ew!» Radionova, 2-times junior world champion, holder of the badge of CSKA school, 19 years old.
Tumblr media
video
Sports.ru hates her for her lifestyle and her «mushroomed» CSKA. [Mushrooms (Russian fs slang) – high PC scores. To get mushrooms – to have high PC’s scores.]
Anna «unstable and injured, ew!» Pogorilaya, bronze medalist of the World Cup 2016, skater with the most unusual programs and stunning looks, 20 years old.
Tumblr media
video
Sports.ru hates her less now because she doesn’t skate.
Adelina Sotnikova — episodic role, the Olympic gold of Sochi.
Tumblr media
video
(she had such jumps, oh).
She is hated on Sports.ru for everything.
Maria «woman-underotation» Sotskova.
Tumblr media
video
Well, obviously, it's hard to hate a person you do not remember.
Team «Tutberidze’s monsters»
Evgenia  «LICEMERIC MEAN SHIT»  Medvedeva, 18 years old. The winner of everything in the seasons of 2016-2017.
Polina «totally injured» Tsurskaya, 16, owner of the most beautiful « hunged» jumps and talent, yet unrealized.
Alina Zagitova, 15 years old. Olympic champion 2018 had not yet annoy anyone in her first season at the adult, so no nicknames on Sports.ru.
Team «former Tutberidze‘s monsters»  + episodic male roles:
Yulia  «she leaved Tutberidze because she was lazy and fat»  Lipnitskaya. The one «in a red coat»  who «beautifully put her leg up».
Adyan  «lazy! (not fat because he’s not a girl)»  Pitkeev, the former hope of the dead now men's figure skating.
Sergei Voronov, episodic role.
Team «very former Tutberidze‘s monsters»
Polina Shelepen’ was «lazy and ungrateful»  along before it became mainstream, oh, wait, I mean, before Medvedeva, Lipnitskaya and Tsurskaya. The first student of Tutberidze, who stepped at a high level.
Tumblr media
video
(it turns out, she was a swan before the mainstream too!)
Brief content of the 1st episode:
Olympic champion Adelina Sotnikova opens the beauty salon, visits talk-shows, posts in Instagram — in short, goes into the shadows, but sits in the care of the federation. Olympic champion Yulia Lipnitskaya does not cope with eating problems (not confirmed) and injuries (confirmed). After leaving Tutberidze's group (accompanied by scandals), Yulia tries to pursue a career, but the Rostelecom drama and the flow of dirt on Sports.ru come to see her soon.
To replace the champion here comes Liza Tuktamysheva and her triple axel (the same one, for whose performance Mirai Nagasu will become the hero of the US, despite the modest final place), but a year later the axel leaves, and together with him Liza leaves too. Well, she is still here, but there is no chance for her at all.
On the place of leader comes 15-year-old Evgenia Medvedeva, who dominates everywhere for next two seasons. A new world record holder, which guarantees the talented Russian team what it lacks – the stability.
At the pick up Zhenya has Lena Radionova and Anya Pogorilaya, who leave at the end of the episode right before the Olympics. Lena — because of coach changes and sharp growth, Anya .... Anya is a theme for a single episode.
Quintessence of the state of the Russian women's team in 2016-17: World Cup 2017, where the fate of the Olympic tickets was determined. The hellish fight at the Russian Nationals and ... the deafening failure of the 2/3 team at the decisive moment. Medvedeva and her iron nerves pull out 3 tickets for the Olympics. «School Tutberidze» , they say. «Iron nerves» , they say.
youtube
Only one problem, «evil, dirty»  tongues whisper quietly behind their back that Tutberidze can not coach adults. If Zhenya will have a hard puberty, her career will be finished: talented Yulia Lipnitskaya left after the Olympics. ET has no students who perform reaching the age of 18 years. The coach is credited with the hellish methods of weight loss (which cannot be sustained after puberty) and indifference to injuries. As confirmation — the trauma of the Main Tutberidze’s Monster, «indestructible» Medvedeva. But Zhenya goes to the starts. Behind her back — the whole team. Problems? First, not everyone agrees with the PC — this is a clear premium from the Federation for stability. Secondly, lutz. A clear technical problem.
At this time, a girl named Alina Zagitova wins the junior world championship. Tutberidze took her in group recently. She’s still in the shade.
ep.2. During the Olympics (All of you has watched this episode)
Prologue: Medvedeva's speech in Lausanne at the IOC meeting, where the issue of Russian team’s admission to the Olympics was decided. Zhukov's gratitude for Medvedeva and her knowledge of the language.
Main action: Olympics. Drama. Technical superiority of the younger rival. The unofficial prohibition of Tutberidze to call «stepdaughter» Zagitova Olympic champion. A stream of mud in the comments: The Sports.ru's troops, of course, begin to protect the defenseless and disadvantaged minors, watering the aging old generation with mud.
ep. 3. After the ball (You are here).
Starring:
«Supernew monsters of Tutberidze»
Alexandra Trusova. 13 years old, 148 cm, quads in official competitions.
Alena Kostornaya. 14 years, 146 cm, triple axel.
Anna Shcherbakova. Broken leg, but now jumps everything, including quad lutz, hello, Misha Kolyada.
«We were in the shadows, but we are also monsters of Tutberidze»
Darya Panenkova. 15 years old, the only one who passed puberty, but not very «danceable, according to the coaches themselves.
Anastasia Tarakanova. 13 years old, according to rumors all the same dropped out of struggle due to injury.
Evgenia Medvedeva as the main villain.
In this episode: Supernew Monsters of Tutberidze «stamp» the quads in Instagram. Zagitova is in the shadows.
Evgenia Medvedeva after months of rumors leaves the coach. The coach shows on the air of national channel a private conversation in Viber and pretends that she learned about the transition only from news. Medvedeva leaves for Orser, perhaps the world's most famous coach, who just has a free places in group.
There is a lot of gossip and mud: they say, the coach from the group of Tutberidze himself says that the quads of the Supernews will leave soon; someone gloats.
A photo appears where Eteri hugs Zagitova like a mother. From this day Alina can be called the Olympic champion. Now, Alina is the New Hrustalnaya Daughter.
[Hrustalnaya means Crystal; Tutberidze’s rink is called Hrustalniy.]
The main part. What’s Wrong with Eteri Tutberidze?
Before the beginning:
Eteri Tutberidze is an excellent coach. Yes, she does not have athletes over 18 years old. But the successes of Lipnitskaya (in her few seasons on senior) and Medvedeva (under 18 years) cause respect. Yes, the junior coach. But the sport is changing, and Eteri enjoys this very well.
But with all due respect, here are the tense moments collected in one post.
1) The methods of training are clearly not designed for long-term athletes.
About nutrition of Lipnitskaya:
When she needs to lose weight, she eats only powder «Squid» — it's fiber, which gives energy. It's hard, and the weight goes down very slowly — 100 grams a day. But she copes, thank God.
via
It's not very surprising that Yulia started having weight problems, right?
Of course, it's much easier not to put the girls on the weigher during puberty, not to take food from them, not to force running crosses... Of course, the child is hurt, and he very often seeks whom to complain. Not everyone understands that if the coach screams at you, it means that he loves you.
via
Athletes of Tutberidze have usually very small height and weight (Medvedeva is  159 cm and 41 kg according to Tatler). It is purely physiologically impossible for 18 years. She’s even smaller than her mother. And by the way, screams mean love?
2) Medvedeva — not the first one who left Tutberidze like this.
Lipnitskaya and Medvedeva left without saying goodbye. It's not polite. But, whatever one may say, this is an indicator of fear and a general atmosphere in group. Why does Eteri say that all her leaving athletes are beasts? Why along with Medvedeva Tsurskaya left, which in another version may become the second number in the strongest group of the country? Why Shelepen’ left the same way? Are they all «ill-mannered, lazy and ungrateful» , while Eteri is one there who’s the right?
If the young girls were not afraid to go to the Olympics, why did the fear to write to the coach turned out to be more of a fear to go out in front of millions of spectators and give out a skate of the life? Perhaps the famous methods in the style of «wagging on the ice» had the opposite effect, when the athletes become more mature. Adulthood inevitably leads to the appearing of critical thinking.
And by the way, is it possible to speak so loudly about love and family relations, when...
3) Unethical statements about the left (and even not yet time to leave) athletes.
…when after you talk about them in bad manner, giving wvwryone all the small details of the leave? Why do we know everything about the leaving of athletes? Is it necessary for public? What is this for? Eteri has no one to share, and a strong woman does not want to cry near the window alone?
Adyan Pitkeev.
Before leaving:
He is always focused on himself. The presence or absence of several practice mates does not reflects on him. There is such a type of athletes.
After leaving:
At that time, several guys were riding at the same level, but the coaching staff had to prove their love to him on a daily basis. He had sincere tears when he thought he was not needed. The guy ran away, threw the skates into the garbage can. Of course, he didn’t want to leave skating. But he wanted someone to get these skates out of the can, wipe it, bring it back to the locker room and say to him "Adyan, come back.”
He shouted on trainings: “Withdraw me, I do not want to go there as a tourist.” How is it to «withdraw» ? Why «tourist»? Before this European Championship there was a chic Russian Championship. Why does he suddenly start acting like this? We persuaded him with love very long. But in the end we literally forced him to go on the championship.
Polina Tsurskaya.
Eteri says the one of the most talented female athletes had a bad season because of the rare genetic disease.
The mother of Polina denies.
A year later, Polina leaves the coach. She says that she doesn’t know for who she’s going. Clearly cunning.
Yulia Lipnitskaya.
all about her leaving
The main reason for the transfer according to Tutberidze's version:
Yulia is very driven. She does everything her mother says her to do.
Zhenya Medvedeva.
Well, you know. Publishing of the private chat, loud complaints for the fun of the public.
The full list of athletes who «for some reason» do not greet Eteri — here.
You know, when people constantly leave that way, even those whom she calls   «her children» (Shelepen’, Medvedeva, Lipnitskaya), are you either a very naive person or a very complicated person? And not all coaches of the group share the negative attitude of Eteri to the «defectors» :
I can say only one thing: every person chooses his own destiny. If Evgenia decided this, then it remains to hope that she will succeed. I have known her since childhood, I accept her any decision. Is it wrong or not — time will show.
via the choreographer of the group, Zheleznyakov.
Is it possible to blame a person for leaving without saying goodbye the place where people are called pets? Yes, sure, it is. Do we know all the details of the conflict? No, we don’t.
4) Pay attention to the recurrence of the scenario:
From Medvedeva's sincere faith that «we just need to work harder and to not eat»  to the beautiful Alina’s phrase:
Talking about puberty, when you become fat, it seems to me, that this is all fiction. You just need to close your mouth and not eat! Or, at least, eat a little. I eat, but in small quantities.
via
It’s impossible not to grow up ever. In modern Russian (and world) sports, only Medvedev succeeded. Well, Tursynbayeva and Miyahara too, perhaps. Where is the guarantee that Tutberidze's school will release an adult athlete into life?
5) Choreography.
Daniil Gleichengauz is a wonderful young specialist. The Tutberidze’s group has excellent specialists, but… There are some questions to the choreography.
1) Why did Medvedeva really has the same program every year? It's not she herself who made herself the program with her mouth open.
2) Why do the students of Hrustalniy have such, um, strange topics in their skate? Escape from an asylum for 15-years girl?
Coming out of a coma for Medvedeva? Red lipstick of Panenkova — it's absolutely something weird that will appear in nightmares of fs fans all their life.
In total. The main questions we have to this whole situation.
1) Could Medvedeva progress further in the Tutberidze group? Is her leaving the reasonable step? Was it necessary to wait for another brilliant program in the same style with same elements?
Obviously not. Leaving is a great solution. Was situation ugly? It was. But why we are on the side of coach? Why the fact that the change of coach is an absolutely casual story for figure skating takes the second plan? Radionova left Goncharenko. Gubanova left Turenko. Sotskova and Tarakanova left Panova. All these coaches didn’t throw the skates in the backs of leaving athletes.
The difference is that all that people left because of a lack of ice or PC. And here? Why did Tsurskaya leave? Yes, silent leaving is terribly ugly. But why does everyone leave from Tutberidze without saying goodbye? How did it happen that this talented coach this season will have only adult women? Why all this people are so ungrateful? Is the spreading of information about the leave of each athlete ethical?
2) Why is there such a hype around the phrase «keep Alina one season in juniors» ? Medvedeva should refuse to translate for Zagitova at press-conferences? Where is the line between «hypocrisy» and professional ethics? Is it possible to judge a person for emotions?
3) Yes, the comments of Tarasova and others were incorrect. But what does Medvedeva have to do with it? Why is it so fashionable to hate winners, especially on Sports.ru? Why everyone here  is hated?
And the very main question.
Why do we not appreciate our athletes, knowing well that between 10 talented at a high level will hold 1-2? Of the talented list of Sotnikova, Tuktamysheva, Lipnitskaya, Proklova, Sakhanovich, Pogorilaya, Radionova, Medvedeva, only one potential revealed her potentional. And God forbid it will open further. We do not have many of them.
For the next season, Zagitova, Gubanova, Konstantinova, Panenkova remain competitive, not injured and inclined to struggle. The oldest (and hated by public) of them is 17 years old. The rest are 15 and 16. Our list of hopes: Shcherbakova, Trusova, Kostornaya, Tarusina, Panova's school. Changes in the rating rules from the next season will somewhat «skew» the advantage of the Russian school — jumping in the second half and technical complexity. It will become more difficult.
«Tutberidze’s conveyor» is an ambiguous phenomenon, but it deserves respect. In any hero there is a hint of villain. In any villain there is something human. This is about both sides of the conflict.
But in the argument «girls should be grateful to Tutberidze for who they are» there is one significant omission — Eteri should also be grateful to those who worked for her name. And we too should be grateful if we demand moral superiority over the mortals from the athletes.
And nationalism and general hatred against athletes is bad.
Please, think about it.

K, so ya girl made the trip to see Anastasia on Broadway because WHY THE FUCK NOT also I needed a much needed vacation lmaooo (RIP MY $$$ but I’m here for a good time, not a long time!!! And worth going to see the show alone!) I also saw it twice because I’m so Extra(TM). But anyway, here be a reallllyy looooooong ass flail-y recap and thoughts for prosperity!!! I’m also combining both nights because I can!!!
So the first night, I sat center orchestra so I can IMMERSE MYSELF IN THE SHOW and the second time, I sat mezzanine right and HONESTLY the theatre is so small that as long as you’re not super to the side, you’ll get an amazing view wherever you are.
ACT I
When the EMPRESS WALKS IN, THAT SHIT SPARKLED LIKE A FUCKING THOUSAND DIAMONDS!?!?!? WOW LINDA CHO WAS ROBBED. The audience also gasped audibly during her entrance
People laughed when they took pictures IDK WHY IT’S SO FUNNY KJDSFS
The Attack (as I’m dubbing it) is so intense and visually stunning, especially the end
Also the “In The Dark of the Night” melody playing!!!!
I also loved the Romanov Sisters “AAAAAHHHHHHH”  before the run away
Ok MAX AS GLEB!!! I LOVED HIM he really was more awkward and less poised than Ramin was, at least in front of Anya but just as terrifying and intimidating.  I thought he was also funnier sdjfhdsjkhf. The tone of voices were pretty similar too so it was kind of easier to focus on his portrayal, which was amazing overall.
Uhhh once Dmitry comes out, you can’t stop looking at him. JAWLINE. And also he gesticulates a lot sjkfskjj.
Christy really forreal literally has a sparkle in her eye whenever she sings and it’s amazing to witness SHE REALLY IS SUCH A SPECIAL PERFORMER
ISTG, one of these days Derek and John are forreal gonna end up flipping Christy over when they lift her THEY ALMOST DID THE SECOND NIGHT AND I WAS STRESSEDT you legit could see her feet up in the air lmfaaooao
After Anya chases off those hooligans, she points the stick at Dmitry and says, “Come at me, I won’t hurt you.” in this playful almost flirty voice and it gave me......thoughts......
DEREK GETS SO SWEATY AT THE END OF MY PETERSBURG AND IT’S SO FUNNY KFHSKJF also he kind of warbled the last note in both nights but I  find it kind of endearing lmao bless him
There are a number of moments where Dmitry just kind of stares at Anya and then kind of catches himself and shakes himself out of it and it’s adorable like “hahahahaha idiot you’re falling in loooooooooooooove”
Uhhh OUAD is even more amazing because the ghost projections extend to the sides of the theatre so like SENSORY OVERLOAD I cried metaphorically
Watching the ensemble is so fun, when you can look away from Derek/Christy for a few seconds (WHICH IS HARD TO DO) lmfaoo, and in “We’ll go from There”, when it’s Dmitry’s turn to sing and he’s just hanging on the train rails, I was watching the two smoker girls (one played by Lyrica aka Odette/Ballerina), and at first, they have these disgusted looks that slowly turn into “Oh no, he’s hot” and LYRICA ESPECIALLY had that “gosh, he’s actually really cute” AND IT’S HILARIOUS (and I told Lyrica when I met her at stagedoor and she laughed a lot, saying she and Sarah have a lot of fun doing that scene)
OTP: DMITRY x BATHTUBS FOREVER
Stay, I Pray You gets me on a deep personal level because the immigrant connection is real (”You are all I know. You have raised me.” WHEN WILL I NOT CRY!?!?!?) , also I love numbers where everyone just sings classic choral style also the harmonies at the end PHEW
Also CONSTANTINE’S VOCALS
Journey to the Past. No words tbh other than MAGICAL.
ACT II
PARIS HOLD THE KEY TO YOUR HEART IS SO FUN AND THE ELEVATOR RIDE UP TO THE EIFFEL TOWER IS SO FUCKING FUN!!!
I appreciate Land of Yesterday so much more as a visual performance because Caroline O’Connor is amazing. Her wit and her PHYSICAL STAMINA
MBP is one regal HBIC and Close the Door made me EMO
TCATCM is always such a hoot and John and Caroline are amazing together, the audience really just eats it up
IN A CROWD!!!! OF FUCKING THOUSANDS!!!!
I love arm
Christy’s delivery of “I remember” has gotten much softer it seems, and then they both kind of stare at each other for awhile, as if really realizing who each other is before they CRASH INTO EACH OTHER RIP ME
both gasp lightly between “I’d find you....” “again”
*cue the disappointed sounds of the audience when Dmitry pulls back. SAME, MY DUDES*
also they both let out really audible gasps before Dmitry pulls back and it’s so !!!!!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!?!?!?
When Dmitry kneels down, the background turns into this starry sky AND THE FULL EFFECT OF IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND I WAS AWESTRUCK
I always get so emo when character’s leitmotifs play but ANYWAYS when the Dowager came out, you can tell she just looked so done and tired AND IT BROKE MY HEART (she looked regal af though)
When Dmitry comes RUNNING OUT and just kind of looks around and you know he’s searching for Anya THE silly boy and then Vlad spots him and he’s fixing him up while he acts like a disgruntled son lmflaks
ANYA’S ENTRANCE IN THE ICONIC BLUE DRESS fuck, the sparkles on that dress is so mesmerizing and SHE WAS GLOWING but she only had eyes for Dmitry right when she found him and has this fond look on her face AND SDKJFHSKJ SHE LOVES HIM FLALSMA
(release “When She Walks In”, you cowards!)
I didn’t really cry cuz during both performances (I was TOO HAPPY TO SEE THIS ALL COME TO LIFE BEFORE MY EYES) BUT I did get super emotional when Vlad sang “Meant to Be” becaue HE JUST LOOKED SO HEARTBROKEN FOR BOTH HIS CHILDREN!?!?!?
QUARTET AT THE BALLET is one of my favorites AND I LOSE MY SHIT EVERY TIME!!!! Also LYRICA!!!!! What an amazing dancer and I found it really nice that it was a show within a show and they had their own curtain call for this
Seriously, which of the writers hates Cleveland sdkjfhsdjkfh that joke will never not be funny
DEREK’S CRESCENDO AND DESCRESCENDO IN ETW!! BITCH!!!!
Also, DMITRY BOUGHT ANYA A FUCKING DOLL!?!!? WHY IS HE LIKE THIS!?!?!? Let me stare off into space while I continue to process that information
Uh, when Dmitry checks in on the Dowager and Anya during their reunion, he has a little smile on his face before he angstily walks away (and out of Anya’s life forever!!! Or so he thought, haha that fool)
The Anya/Gleb confrontation is always such a cool and emotional scene, especially when the Romanov ghosts also step back behind
After Gleb decides to let Anya go, and the Romanovs/Officers leave and you see them carry a body, as if physically and metaphorically burying the past IT’S SO. WOW. HAUNTING AND EVOCATIVE AND I THINK ABOUT IT A LOT
When Anya finds Dmitry and he kind of takes her in for a bit before going all emo on her and Anya kind of has this fond smile before getting all sad once he says, “I can’t be in love with someone I can’t have for the rest of my life” like GOD, YOU’RE A FOOL BUT I LOVE YOU!?!?!?
“*softly* I’m not your prince, Anya.”
*cue my tears*
THE KISS!!! SO MUCH CHEERING And lmao whenever Christy grabs his suitcase to step on it, IT’S SO HILARIOUS because even in her heels she’s almost eye level with Derek (a real testament to how big of a height difference they have)
After Dmitry pulls away, they both have dazed smiles on and kind of look at each other for a beat longer RIP ME
EVEN AFTER ANYA TAKES HIS ARM AND THEY KEEP SMILING AT EACH OTHER AND IT’S SOOO!!! CUTE!!! I LOVE ROMANCE!!!
The finale gets me so emo, the Dowager’s “Still...” and her opening the music box AND THE ROMANOV SPIRITS ALL COME OUT AND THEN THEY ALL ROTATE LIKE AN ACTUAL MUSIC BOX!!!! IT’S BEAUTIFUL
Also the bridge in the background changes from being real, to a PAINTING as if to really add to the fairytale effect of DIMYA WALKING TO THEIR FUTURE and then when it goes, “Far away...” IT CHANGES TO A SNOWY SCENE AND I!!! LOSE MY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stage door. K so honestly, I appreciate all of them so much they are all so nice and gracious AND DESERVE ALL THE LOVE AND PRAISE!!!!
Max was so nice (SUPER HANDSOME) and I told him that he was really funny as Max and he laughed skdjskjf
Nicole came out next and she’s adorable, protect her forever!!!!
Lyrica is WOW BEAAUTIFUL TBH and I told her she’s an amazing dancer and she said how she has so much fun doing the ballet (also she has the most legible signature and I respect that lmaoo)
Caroline O’Connor is a delight and is so nice and I told her that I love her jokes and her high kicks skjfhskdjfh and she laughed and she thanked me for buying the program lmfaoo that was cute
Mary Beth also came out and is so elegant and precious and Zach was following after her because he was carrying some box (??? hers??? WHO KNOWS)
I’m lame and exclaimed, “You’re the music box!!!” when it was Zach’s turn to sign and he was all, “How did you know!?!?!? We have an avid fan over here, guys!” sdkjfhskjfh and I honestly would love to see his Dima cuz he’s really witty and a good egg.
I told John that he was the real winner in my heart and he laughed and said how they really enjoy making the vlogs and I jokingly asked when the next season was and he was very ;)))) about it SO THAT’S EXCITING BECAUSE I WANT MORE ROYAL MISFITS FOREVER!!! I also told him he deserved a full pack of gum sjkfhsjk and he said that he doesnt even like gum sjkdfsh
Derek is unreal beautiful and lmao the thirst for him by everyone is real but he’s so nice with everyone. I just told him that his vocals in Quartet are particularly amazing sdfjhsjkfh and he laughed adorably (ok, everything he does is adorable lbr). I was kind of a mess trying to take a pic with him but he was really patient while I got my shit together and flkaoska he’s so tall he had to crouch down quite a bit (sorry for my shortness, my dude). Anyway, both pics turned out slightly blurry because???? He just has that effect, I guess!
Christy went last and lmao, I wonder if they purposely plan it that way  now because of how long she takes interacting with each fan. Even the security guard was impressed with how much she loves doing the stage door lmao. She really is as precious as you expect and I pretty much babbled my love for Anastasia and for her AT her because SHE’S EVERYTHING AND IS A LITERAL PRINCESS and emanates so much love and kindness. I asked for a pic and I’m such an awkward ass turtle, trying to decide which way would provide better lighting lmao she offered to do hold the phone instead and I didn’t even realize she was taking so many pics lmao. Then I told her I loved her and thanked her for being THE BEST ANASTASIA  A FAN CAN HOPE FOR and we hugged and she thanked me for coming and told me my hair smelled good sdkjfskf. The second night is when I gave her my gift (lmao, it’s supposed to be a giant easter egg that I painted with some candy in it but the top half came off when she was taking it out, hence why she’s only holding half of it in the picture akhad) and she’s honestly like a little kid with how excited she was about it and even held it out so the other peeps could see lolol. She saw the treats inside and I told her how I know she loves snacking and she kind of went on about the pocki sticks she was eating backstage (which she pronounces, “poke-y” lmaoo so I didn’t know what she was talking about til like, a day later) and how they’re so addicing lmao I love one (1) backstage snacker. And she keeps saying how they have the best fans and I’m like, “UH!!! YOU GUYS DESERVE IT, HONESTLY!!!!” and she does the “Awwww!!!” face (y’all know the one). OH she also tried guessing where I was from but I kind of blurted it out before she could and she was so “SEE, I WAS GONNA SAY ‘CALIFORNIA’! I shouldn’t have even asked!” lmao. I gushed at her again, thanked her and probably told her I loved her again before I finally said goodbye lmao.

I’m probably missing a lot of stuff, honestly it’s a blur and I’m trying to finish this up before I pass out from a food coma but ANYWAYS! 20/10 would fucking recommend, I love this musical so goddamn much and the cast and literally every one involved they’re all so talented and it will always hold a special place in my goddamn heart!!! *a million crying emojis*

This is WAY overdue and i meant to do this back when I hit 100 followers, but I was only really roleplaying with a handful of people back then. So, I decided to wait a bit so I could make a longer list!
After a year long hiatus from roleplaying in general, three months ago I made my first ever indie account for my favourite, childhood and historical, princess. I was pretty terrified at the time because not only did the indie community always intimidate me, but there were already so many wonderful Anyas out there doing their thing with amazing interpretations and I didn’t really think anybody would want to write with me. But now there’s 130 people following me and I’m just?? shook??
So this is my way of saying THANK YOU to anybody who is following this account, has written with me, or even likes my portrayal a little bit. I’ve loved Anya since I was six/seven. She is so important to me and seeing her receive this much love from all of you just literally makes my heart swell! I honestly cannot wait to keep writing through Anya, developing her beyond the musical/movie. I am so eternally grateful for all of you!
@cherishedvisit ~ cosette, my love, I am beyond grateful for you. you helped me get this blog up and running; supported me through my numerous bouts of duplicate anxiety and writers block; have supported me in every way since I decided to try intimidating thing called indie rp and in various other areas of life. my anya honestly wouldn’t exist without you and I love you so, so much.
@tobewhoimnot ~ nisa, my amazing friend; wonderful dmitry; partner in crime. it is unreal how much I admired your writing back when I was just an observer and not in the anastasia rpc at all. it is unreal how much I still love your writing and how much I adore the person behind the blog. I am so, so grateful that I found a writing partner and friend in you <3
@russiaraised ~ amanda, it is UNREAL how much I admire you and how in awe I am from your writing and portrayal of dmitry. your blog was the first anastasia rp blog I ever found and your incredible comprehension of dmitry’s character and voice for him were the only reasons I even considered making my blog. your dmitry is the reason my anya exists and I am so grateful to have found you. if I could ever play anya half as well as you play dmitry, I would feel that I have made it as a writer.
@bertievi ~ cara, I admired your blog from afar for almost a month before clicking follow and oh gosh, I am so glad that I clicked that follow button! your writing is stunning; your portrayal is perfect; you are one of the kindest people I have encountered in the indie community. I hear Bertie’s voice every time in your writing and cannot imagine a better portrayal for him. I only hope we’ll be writing together for a long time to come! :)
people with absolutely gorgeous writing who I admire more than words can express (in no particular order):
