even after telling trucy and apollo abt them being siblings and abt their mother I still feel like apollo would not see phoenix as a father figure and I don't think that he should. phoenix is a mentor for him, he already had a dad in dhurke even he's well,,, yeah,, and I feel like him and phoenix have too complicated of a dynamic to just boil it down to "you are my son now".

during phoenix's beanix era he projected a lot onto apollo to try to beat the naivete out of him that reminded him so much of how he used to be b4 he became horribly jaded. phoenix wanted to protect him from making the same mistakes as he did so he made him actively distrust him to teach him a lesson like "haha you can't even trust your heroes!" (the forged playing card)

anyway in summary I don't think apollo would just forget all of the effort that phoenix put into teaching him the "hard lessons" of the dark age of the law just bc he wants a 3rd father figure, yaknow. he dealt with so many daddy issues in kur'ain I think the boy deserves to have an adult man who is just like a weird uncle

ANDREIL BIKER AU - SELF INDULGING ALTERNATIVE VERSION

Neil waits for Andrew to pick him up from university. The December air is freezing, and he thinks he can feel the cold in his bones. Snow is gently piling up on the ground around him. After a few minutes, Neil finally hears the familiar sound of a roaring engine and he looks up.

Andrew pulls over and leans in for a quick, passionate kiss. Neil knows his boyfriend can taste the ice on his freezing lips, can taste it on his tongue. Andrew wordlessly pushes a helmet on Neil’s head and waits for him to climb on the motorbike.

Without turning around, Andrew reaches for Neil’s hands and removes his gloves. Andrew gives his hands a squeeze before roughly guiding them into his own pockets. Neil just hugs him tighter, and snuggles his head into Andrew’s scarf, finding comfort in the familiar smell.

Neil’s mouth meets uncovered skin and he smiles against Andrew’s neck, before gently biting him. Andrew does not need to ask, they don’t need words. This is their language; Thank you, I love you, I want you (even if I don’t want to).

They stay like this for a minute, locked in the intimate embrace, their hands intertwined in Andrew’s pockets and Neil’s mouth at his boyfriend’s jaw. It’s only when Neil’s body is racked by an uncontrollable shiver that Andrew steps on the pedal. The engine revvs and then they’re gone, only leaving behind a cloud of soft snow dust.

sometimes it really gets me down feeling like I'm easily replaceable because of those that have abandoned me to copy and steal from me because thinking my specific expression is unique and gives me some kind of quality is the only thing that keeps me here sometimes, it's one of the only things I'm proud of and years of effort and passion has gone into all this

it gets me down thinking it's worth nothing at times when people will steal from me and get way more success than I ever did but I try to tell myself the copycats can't really do it the same because you can tell they're trying too hard and just mimicking me instead of expressing a true honest passion that wasn't taken step by step from anyone else's expression

I try to tell myself I do still have a reason to be here and I also hope I can find more someday but for now this is all I got and I really don't want to feel like even that isn't worth it

In the same vein as this post I just reblogged (and this one from the same book) there is something so unbelievably comforting about the figure of Sherlock Holmes, and the whole universe he inhabits, and that’s why he’ll never die. 

I was listening to a podcast about the women killed by Jack the Ripper a few weeks ago (it’s called Bad Women and it’s by Hallie Rubenhold if anyone wants to check it out -- it’s absolutely fascinating) and she talked, in one episode, about how Sherlock Holmes was created just before the Ripper murders, and how much of the success of the original stories has to be down to the climate of fear permeating London in the 1880s and 90s. Scotland Yard were failing to capture this violent serial killer, the likes of which the country had never seen, and here was this fictional figure for whom no detail was too small, who could outwit every villain and solve every crime. People at the time needed the reassurance that Holmes and Watson offered them, and that has never changed.

The comfort and endurance of the Sherlock Holmes figure, and everyone who surrounds him, is more than just the comfort one gets from any detective story -- the murder being solved by the end of the story, the bad guy getting their comeuppance, justice being served. There’s comfort in thinking that everything can be solved, that if you just look at the world a certain way, you’ll be able to know the answer to almost anything. In one of my local charity shops a few days ago, I saw a book called How to Think Like Sherlock Holmes (or something along those lines) and it advertised itself as being able to teach you how to see the world as he does. Because people still take comfort in that idea -- the “art of deduction”, the idea that the world can be seen through a certain lens, and every mystery can be solved.

I have no idea what possessed me to write this, but it’s been on my mind for ages now, and I wanted to get it out. No wonder Sherlock Holmes has the most incarnations of any fictional character in the world. No wonder he’s instantly recognisable in his original deerstalker and tweed coat. No wonder Arthur Conan Doyle couldn’t kill him by throwing him off Reichenbach Falls in The Final Problem, and he’s refused to die ever since.

Eddie took a moment to share in the admiration of the bracelet before grabbing Steve’s hand and tugging it down. “This is better, yeah?” Eddie asked. “Huh?” Steve turned to look at him again, but Eddie was staring straight up at the sky. “Than just sitting in your car in the freezing cold by yourself, I mean.” “I had Freddie Mercury with me.” “I’m serious.” Eddie finally turned his head to face Steve again. His expression certainly matched his words. Steve couldn’t help but tense up at the shift in tone, though he was swiftly eased by the way Eddie’s thumb brushed across his knuckles. “I...hate that you even have to ask.” Steve managed to smile, even though Eddie frowned at that. “Yeah, this is better.” One song left. It wasn’t fair.
