one webcomics trend I've noticed for a bit is comics where the creator casts a wide net and publishes to as many sites as possible, so like there's a tumblr mirror, a webtoons mirror, a tapas mirror, a twitter mirror, I've even seen one that has a tiktok mirror (god). Some of these even have the decency to actually have their own website

the idea was to cast the widest possible net in order to get the maximum audience possible, as this was the excuse for people using webtoons despite it sucking raw hot dogs but i dont understand how on earth this strategy could ever work lol

anyway to highlight the uselessness of google analytics, these are my analytics arranged on "looker studio", a google product i guess they forgot about, in order to make sense of the useless shit they're showing me. you can see this enormous traffic spike from a traffic bot farm advertising their services by ruining your metrics. you can no longer filter these urls from your data.

here's my google adsense conspiracy theory from me shedding light on why i think (STRONG EMPHASIS ON "THINK". IM HYPOTHESIZING) with commentary from someone who knows way more about the subject than my armchair observations.

my marketing strategy is to talk bullshit with people with similar interests while letting people know when my comic updates twice a week. if they want to read it, they can. they're not stupid, they don't need to be forced into reading it if they want to. i assume most of my readers are as broke as i am so i don't hound them to give me money they don't have. i'll never run ads again unless its like. for a friend's thing. hand-cultivated by me. im not looking for a wide audience, i'm looking for an audience of people who "get it" and can see an inherent value in what i create. if they have some spare cash, i make my barrier to entry on my patreon extremely low; 1 dollar a month and you can see things early and go through a backlog of author commentary and design stuff and rewards im sooo behind on im so sorry. im so sick i promise, im coming back!!! anyway i just want real human people to have a chance to see things and enjoy things without making it a fucking hassle, you know.

the most organic, actual traffic i got from my site is from a friend's webcomic that links to mine. 11 people read a lot of pages! that's genuinely making my head spin! that's great! i hope they liked it and will check in again. i love the comic they came from so they are clearly ppl of taste lol.

Hi everybody!

It's June so it's time to give a site update and to thank all our May Patreon subscribers!

So, first, the biggest update is that I've discovered a lot of the Escher Girls Tumblr has been flagged by Tumblr as adult content.  I've appealed dozens and there's still more to do (the weird Tumblr interface means that I can't know how many I have left until I clear out the stack they give me).  It's frustrating because the flagging is clearly done by an algorithm that's just scanning the images for vaguely nudity matching things because this cover got flagged and I'm pretty sure that it's not because of Sue but because of Johnny.  There's a bunch of other images with fire people that are flagged for nudity too because the algorithm can't tell that monocoloured characters are not naked.  Sometimes it's even more baffling how the post could be flagged (such as the She-Hulk one I put with this post.) And the appeals are processed within seconds and seemingly rejected or accepted arbitrarily.  Given the speed that they're processed, I'm 1000% sure no human is actually looking at them.  It's annoying and I don't know how it affects the visibility of the posts, or if some posts are removed entirely without me knowing.

Stuff like this is why I decided to self-host and made a dedicated site for Escher Girls.  I know it's not Tumblr, but I encourage people to check out the main site (EscherGirls.com) because it's an archive that I control and can't be deleted or hidden by Tumblr.  It's also why I mention that Escher Girls has an RSS feed, so people know there's a way to keep up to date with posts outside of Tumblr (and previously Twitter, which no longer functions because they turned off API access). For newbies, simply copy and paste https://eschergirls.com/rss.xml into an RSS reader and it will keep you up to date on EG.

And all of the above is why I'm so appreciative of the support we get from Patreon & Ko-Fi because it helps pay for hosting and the domain name and helps us upgrade the site as needed.  Also, just personally, I appreciate that people think what I do is worthwhile enough to support. <3

As usual, I'm working on restoring broken posts when I find them.  Some of them I've found aren't just broken on this site due to the move but also don't exist on Tumblr anymore due the posts being removed due to flagging.  My major restoration project which took a long time this month was fixing up the WarTune tag, which was a lot of work but well worth it I think.  If you haven't seen the WarTune ads before, I encourage you too, they're... something else.

I also fixed up an old post about the original Elder Scrolls that I like because I wrote a short story as the caption (and I've now added a title for it). Check it out if you haven't seen it before.

A sincere and important poll

I am trying to figure out what to write about aside from perfume; I would like to do that 1-2 times a week, and then we have the bread and butter posts, some kind of longterm commentary content. (This is difficult to plan while I have fallen sick, AGAIN, with a head cold, but we persevere.) You would be able to read posts a day early on, say, a $5 Patreon level--that's my plan, but they would show up here for free, for sure. Here is my question:

I have not been reading the Dracula or Dracula Daily tags, but before the pandemic, I had been doing tweet threads on each chapter of the book (I made it through three before getting covid). It seems to me that Dracula may be discoursed to death now. There are several things I love about it and would like to talk about, but Tumblr may be... saturated by now. My alternative is to pick up with the Varney the Vampire recaps I was doing even longer ago. (I would go to those after I finished Dracula anyway.) What do you think I should do? A vote for Dracula is a vote for both; a vote for Varney is "We have had enough Dracula, honestly just skip to that."

Finishing up some Twilight content is not a poll option because I will be doing that anyway, knock on wood.

Even if you're not interested, it would really help if you could reblog this for me; I'd like to find other Livejournal old timers.

It seems like a good time to post some more of what I've been doing! I'm working on ten commissions in all, but these are clean enough to show off as works in progress.  Character portraits of Philomela for our good friend Simone Spinozzi, the mysterious Ze for SueZeev, a curvaceous demoness for Hat, and MihoshiK asked me to revisit Sally Southpaw as she leaves the shower.

This is fun and fulfilling work, though things are a little tough right now, to be honest.  I'm not moving as fast as I wish I could.  The time I find to create seems to shrink, and I honestly don't know how I can start the new comic with my current budget.  At the moment my Patreon campaign makes less than half of what it did at Zebra Girl's peak, which of course is perfectly understandable since the comic ended.  I was hoping to attract patrons and start earning more once I began producing Witch Warp, but right now I'm not sure I can even get started while money's this tight.  Certain issues have increased my familial responsibilities over the last few years, and I'm kind of scraping by.  These commissions were a way to make ends meet, but the comic's what I'm really aiming for.

I'll make a new post soon devoted to fundraising.  If I can elevate the bar to a thousand a month then I'll have breathing room and Witch Warp will finally get off the ground!  And more Pook pages!  And the Zebra Girl Omnibus, too!  Yes, I've been writing the commentary for three and a half years.  It took longer than I expected.  Everything does.

It’s due time!

It’s been literal years since I started talking about my “big vmin analysis” and even longer since I started writing it. I mentioned recently that I have started to post parts of it to my Patreon and so far I have managed to upload a little over 60 pages worth of analysis with 4 main topics divided in smaller chapters.

This is what is finished 100% so far and is already up on Patreon. (The rest I am still working on and it will likely take some more time, but it’s a start.)

I also want to say a special thank you to my Patrons (and two very special friends on twitter, you know who you are) for helping me through commentary and support of the big analysis. I can’t tell you all how much it means, and how much it helps to get feedback from you. 💜

As you know, I have been very slow with this. Or rather I keep adding and changing so much it’s never really finished. But I gave myself an ultimate deadline to start posting it here, which was when I reached 5000 followers. Something I did a few weeks ago. Which means I will start uploading the parts soon, though I don’t know how long it will take between each post (sadly I also can’t just copy-paste but have to reupload any used pictures one by one.) But, it’s time! If I don’t do it now I never will.

Anyways, sorry for taking so long. And also thank you all so much for your love and support and patience over the years. I can’t believe this blog has grown into what it is today.

fic announcement/sneak peek!

hi!! its been a while since I posted a series on Tumblr and im super excited to be getting back into it!!! this series really like happened on accident, as I started working w this idea a year ago with the intention of it being a one shot!! but I just kept writing and it got too long and now here we are shfidhfus

She swallowed, Harry able to feel the motion against his shoulder before she spoke. "Is this always going to happen to me?"

Harry swore his heart broke at her words. The resigned edging to her voice made it all that much more painful as it felt like the edges of his cracked heart raked down his chest. He gently peeled her from the home she had made against his chest, his hands on her shoulders. He ducked his head to match her downcast gaze.

"(Y/N)," he started, a stern edging to the honey coated call, "You are so kind, and smart, and funny, and gorgeous. There are so many people who realize all of those things, I promise you. And those are the people who are going to treat y'right, and take care of you the way y'deserve." A wild idea flittered through Harry's head, threatening to slip from his mouth before he stopped himself. Though he wished he could allow them to fall, he was scared of the reaction he would garner, especially when (Y/N) was already so emotional. He didn't want to push any harder.

She shook her head as she looked off to the side, avoiding his relentless gaze. The leftover tears from her previous sessions pooled on her waterline, dripping down in slow succession. "But this is what happens every time. How else am I supposed to be treated?"

Harry's eyes flicked down to his hands that laid in his lap, twisting his rings around his fingers. He rolled his lips between his teeth, making a last minute decision he hoped he wouldn't regret.

He brought his head up to find (Y/N) also looking towards his hands, the saddened look on her face he hoped would be wiped away. "Y'deserve so much, (Y/N). Anyone would be lucky to show y'how y'should be treated,"—he nervously gulped before squaring his shoulders and feigning confidence—"How a man should treat you, not whatever it is that Andrew thinks he is."

Her eyes were wide as she finally matched his gaze, the dotted glow of the fairy lights around them adding a shine to her eyes he noticed was no longer from tears. She didn't offer any commentary, only looking to him for answers to questions she hadn't even posed yet. But he knew. And he knew just how he was going to answer them, even if he had to pretend he had no doubt in his mind of her reaction.

"I could show you," he started, tracing his gaze along her features in an effort to gauge her reaction. "If y'wanted, I could take y'out and show y'how that date should have gone, and how they all should be after. As friends, though, of course."

His final statement was added in a rush. All he wanted was to see her smile again, this picture of her with tears in her eyes and tracks down her cheeks doing more destruction on his heart than he thought possible. Although this was a bit of a self-indulgent way of getting her to smile, he would never expect anything from her or their time together.

"A date?" she asked, a tint of disbelief to her voice.

Hello Internet, welcome to GAME THEORY, where instead of putting a joke here I want to ask you a question. It's time to talk UNDERTALE.

Now I don't think I've ever gotten this many requests to cover a theory, (no requests times no requests is still no requests.) Anyway, across my tumblr dashboard, NO ONE has asked for this. And honestly, I'm disappointed. True loyal theorists will know that Undertale is my favorite game of all time.

Undertale is a game where every character, from goat mom to grind fodder has a sympathetic design and a unique personality, motivations, goals, fears. Whether you're saving or slaughtering them, the game makes you feel something every time you enter an encounter. But to me, one character stood out amongst all the rest. SANS. A skeleton named after the font, Comic Sans. ANYWAYS, Sans is, well, there's a lot of mystery around this guy. And before we get into it, let me put up a very special spoiler warning: UNDERTALE is a game best experienced blind. So if you haven't played it, pause your reading of this and come back after you've finished. I PROMISE YOU, I PROMISE you won't regret it. Alright, so everyone out of the pool and ready for the adult swim? Good. Because I'm feeling pretty determined to get to the bottom of Sans' mystery. So just to recap for those of you who haven't played the game and ignored the SPOILER WARNING, or just need a refresher, Sans is one of the two skeletal brothers who appears in the game. His partner is Papyrus, a loud, goofy trap lover also named after a font. But in the world of Undertale their origins are a big question mark. All you really know is what's given to us by a shopkeeper in Snowdin, who explains that Sans and Papyrus, quote, “just showed up one day and asserted themselves.” Weird, right? What's more is that, well, Papyrus is just kinda the goofy sidekick. Sans is much more complex.

He likes fart jokes, but he's also incredibly powerful and deadly serious. Not only is his boss battle the hardest in the game, he's one of the only characters who has knowledge and power over space and time. He can take shortcuts around the world through ridiculous routes. Even is walking through walls. He also acknowledges that he's only one of infinite versions of himself, making self-aware commentary of the various timelines that you've played through in the game. He can even count the number of times he's killed you. He acts like an arbiter of this world, passing out judgements on the player's actions in the game, even explaining the secrets of EXP and LOVE, or EXECUTION POINTS and LEVELS OF VIOLENCE, just to clarify. In short, he just doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the world of monsters. But then, what, or who, is he? Well, the idea that he doesn't belong in the underworld seems to be correct.

The evidence seems to point to the fact that he WAS, in fact, formerly a surface dweller. In the true pacifist ending of the game, as the group looks out onto the horizon, Papyrus asks Sans about the giant ball in the sky. Sans says, quote, “we call that the sun.” This is important because A, the usage of the word WE, and knowledge of the sun shows that Sans has a kinship or knowledge with other humans, and B, that despite he and Papyrus both being skeletons, or, supposedly, brothers, and apparently appeared in underworld at the same time, they CLEARLY have two very different histories. Why would Papyrus not know the name of the sun but Sans would?

We get further clues to Sans' origins as we hear him say multiple times he wants to "go home" or "go back." He says as much during his dinner date scene at the Mettaton hotel. He notices that the player wants to go home and says, quote, "I know the feeling." He then continues, "maybe sometimes it's better to take what's given to you." As though he ended up in the underworld by accident. AND in a genocide run during his boss fight he says, quote, "look, I gave up trying to go back a long time ago." End quote. And before you say he means going back to the surface world, that's clearly not the full story. His very next line of dialogue is, "and getting to the surface doesn't really appeal anymore either." Key word here is “EITHER.” Yes, he seems to hail from the surface and wants to go back, but based on his dialogue he no longer considers it his home. It's as though the surface world he once knew is gone, as though he's from a different time. It's pretty intriguing. So we're left with a being that appeared out of nowhere, presumably from being from the human surface, but from a different time period, who seemingly has the power to teleport. That's a lot of questions and not a lot of answers.

But here's where things get REALLY interesting. Sans has a hidden workshop that takes a fair amount of searching to find. You could say it takes a lot of DETERMINATION to unlock. Anyways, obligatory determination references aside, as you start to look for this easter egg Sans gives you a key to his room and says "it's time you learn the truth." After some searching you find the workshop which contains items that leave even more questions. A photo album featuring Sans and a bunch of smiling people you don't recognize, a badge, blueprints with illegible handwriting, and a broken machine hidden behind a curtain. In the latest update, one more detail was added. A hand-drawn picture of 3 smiling faces with the words “don't forget.”

So, what does it all mean? Well a lot of Undertale theorists have been linking these details to a feature to a character named W.D Gaster. A ghostly character who never truly appears in the game. Honestly, covering him is a theory all unto itself, and probably one best saved for another day. Even still, none of the Gaster theories I've seen have been able to explain all the details. In particular, the photo album, and the badge. And that's what kept nagging me as I researched Undertale. A badge? That one in particular really stuck out to me. Why would such an oddly specific item to be hidden in the huge easter egg of a room? Something that supposedly reveals the truth about Sans? Badges just aren't important in Undertale. Then it hit me. What if this badge isn't from Undertale? What if this badge is from a completely different series? And was, in fact, the most important badge in the history of gaming? One of the Iskall patreon badges.

Now, for those of you wondering what I'm talking about, the Iskall Patreon Badges are a pivotal item from Iskall’s patreon. You know, the one on Hermitcraft. Anyway, the Iskall Patreon Badges are a really important part of Iskall’s character. So I asked myself; what if the badge in Sans' drawer was ONE OF THOSE EXACT badges? Well first off, it made Undertale connected to my favorite youtuber, thereby making it even COOLER, but that's still a pretty big logical leap. I needed more. Let me tell you, as I started looking, more and more pieces started to fit into place.

In Hermitcraft Season 6, there are three Architechs. (This was before Stress joined in season 7.) These 3 were Iskall, Grian and MumboJumbo. And what does Sans happen to have in his other drawer? A photo album with pictures of Sans with people you don't recognize. Of course you don't know them, they're not characters present in Undertale. And note the word that's used here, PEOPLE you don't recognize. Not underworld monsters. So that's 2 items oddly linked to the Hermitcraft series.

But then, how do the blueprints and broken machine fit in? Well, in the final stretch of Hermitcraft, Iskall is the only one who hasn’t died since the Demise game, so he sells his own body to the highest bidder. Except, it comes with a cost. Everyone is poor. As a result, and with the help of ImpulseSV, the Architechs (minus Mumbo,) are forced to finally kill Iskall, ending his streak since the beginning of demise. I watched this episode in 2020 and I'm not ashamed to admit that when I first saw this scene, I cried. It's DEVASTATING.

Iskall says goodbye to his friends, his co-workers, this character you've grown to love and care about is suddenly promising to sacrifice his life. For all he knows, there is no possibility of him being able to come back after his Demise. It's this incredibly dark departure in the final moments of what was otherwise a fun, quirky, and colorful Season 6.

So what does all of this have to do with Undertale? A LOT, actually. But the first thing you need to know is that the hermits are known for their, let's say, unique written linguistic style.

That would explain the illegible handwriting on the blueprints. And the machine? I think a broken infinity portal is behind that curtain. Now that may seem like a stretch, but it actually explains a lot.

If Sans wound up in Undertale via whacky infinity portal hyjinx, it could provide a reason for why he's a skeleton. He used the machine as organic matter and suffered the consequences. Not killing him, but turning at least a part of him into a pile of bones. That could also explain why Sans has given up hope for going home. Remember the infinity portal is a time machine. By being in the underworld, he's not only in a different place, but based on how he talks, he's also in a different time, with no hope of travelling back to the time he came from. This could theoretically happen. It turned Scar into a wizard and completely disintegrated Welsknight, so the rules are… Flimsy at best.

But the crossovers between Hermitcraft and Undertale continue. In Grian’s episode, (EDIT IN TIMESTAMP) he mentions he’s amazed that Iskall only escaped his demise with a lost arm. He says Iskall had “a lot of determination to not die for real,” and that he’s going to continue to study this. Seems awfully similar to the same experiments happening in Undertale around the trait of determination, no? Especially since so much has shown that Sans was a key player in those experiments.

But I'm sure you also want physical evidence right? Well don't worry, because I have plenty. Take a look at Iskall and Sans side by side. Iskall’s left eye is replaced with a diamond loupe. Sans’ left eye glows blue when he’s mad. Both have extremely chill yet are known for their jokes and, dare I say, laugh.

In short, we have some incredibly strong proof that the Hermitcraft Cinematic Universe, (HCU) is somehow connected to the Undertale world, which brings us back to our initial question, WHO IS SANS?

Well, what if we took it one final step and said that Sans happened to be Iskall from Hermitcraft? Sent through the Infinity Portal at the end of season 6 to go to Season 7, carrying an Iskall Patreon Badge and his photo album. Not only do all the items in the workshop suddenly fit, but so does Sans’ behavior.

Remember, Sans can seemingly travel extremely quickly. And Iskall just happens to have an elytra, a device that allows people to travel hundreds of metres extremely quickly. This even explains why Sans bleeds when you finally hit him. He is, or at least, WAS, a human.

Oh and finally, Sans shares two out of five letters with the name Iskall. That's just a fun one. I thought it was worth mentioning.

But if there was any doubt, we have to look no further than the creator's previous work. Toby Fox, the man behind Undertale is actually DocM77, the creator of every hermit (besides Scar.) Now, if Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale, is also DocM77, creator of Iskall, we know they will most definitely share a universe. Which brings us back to Undertale. 2 faces, with “don't forget” written on it? It's Iskall, trying to remember his 2 friends. In short, Undertale is a continuation of Toby’s version of Hermitcraft Season 6, with Iskall never being able to get home, adopting the name Sans. The pieces all just seem to fit. Now all we need is an appearance from Ethoslab and we’ve got ourselves a true sequel.

My patreon will really only for blog post tls, of which I will be putting out at least 3 each month, and for early access to my next planned post. Right now, I can only do early access for one post since I have nothing stockpiled and since Chinese New Year is this month....I’ll be busy with stuff so I probably won’t be getting around to doing a lot for the foreseeable future.... though I intend to bump that up to 2 posts when I’m no longer as busy....

I hope everyone had a good new year’s day.... cuz im feeling exhausted and my mind feels all waaaaaugh rn cuz of beating Psychedelia of the Ashen Hawk which i keep spelling as Hawke because of Dragon Age.... especially with those endings (i surprisingly couldn’t find anything for it in Chinese but oh well)..... 

Anyway, since this drama is roughly an hour and eight minutes long... it is going to take an extended amount of time to be completely translated since this translation was taken off not exactly great quality/sized images (though i’ll be aided by JP mtl since it’s available for me) which has been a real pain given how condensed some of the Chinese words are... and because im probably going to look at doing this on an on-off basis cuz my mind doesn’t work well focusing on one thing to translate for long periods of time (you have to pay me to do that since i equate that to mental torture lol xD).

Kazama: Oni. In this country of Japan, since ancient times, there have been a race known as the oni living here. Holding power that transcended that of ordinary people, no, it should be said that because of this power which transcends that of ordinary humans, they are depicted as evil creatures/beings in folklore and legends.

Sometimes, they are killed, and other times they are used by humans. (the translation of 驱逐 is "expelled" which doesn't seem right so i changed to "killed"]

For this reason we oni have chosen to sever our ties with humans and live in secluded/ hidden villages. However due to the scarcity of oni, marriage with humans has increased, and some oni have chosen to live like/as humans.

And then, there are oni who live unaware of their heritage because of their weak bloodlines.

Yes, for example, the day I met that man.

(intro music)

Flower petals scatter and leaves wither as they fall. The season has already changed to winter. The city was loud despite how cold it was [Despite how cold it was, the city was bustling with activity/ was loud].

kazama: it turned out to be the case. i do not recognize that name. However, as a member of an oni clan, why are you wearing the the haori(/uniform) of the shogun[ate's?]'s dog?

Sasanami: Oni clan?

Kazama: Exactly. in my eyes, there is no doubt that you are my compatriot/kin/clansman, that is to say---

heisuke: hey new guy - really , where did you [assuming *he?*] go?

Harada: I can understand how people want to show off a bit because of the team's examination, but to go off chasing someone alone is dangerous/puts one in a really dangerous situation [im assuming its to join the Shinsengumi based on the summary on the drama info page].

Heisuke: although having enthusiasm/being enthusiastic is a good thing, those guys tend to die faster.

Harada: Anyway, pray/hope that he wasn't killed due to his carelessness. Heisuke, check over there, I'll look over here.

Sasanami:  oh, Captain Toudou, Captain Harada! I'm [over] here! The roshi has already been captured/arrested.

on a side note, is there something about a location guide in the Hakuoki 3ds game or the ds yuugiroku english patch game (never tried it so iuno how well that worked or if that was even finished but that was one of my first google search bar suggestions)? Asking because I found a Chinese translation/summary of the Zuisouroku ds travel guide (commentary/exchange of certain locations. ex - saito’s room, hanaguri gate, fushimi magistrate)... and well, i just wanna make sure im not looking at game content that was already translated since I know Hakuoki tends to recycle a lot of their stuff before considering to translate it....

also.... this is the only drama where i might translate the interview with the cast (its 4 qs to the VAs sans roshi in text format)... though that would be after i finish this.... whenever the hell that is.

- That’s a good idea. Being able to pick specifically I think would be too much. There are ALOT of corruptions so that would mean many many menus to be able to select everything. Being able to pick one of the four types seems fair to me as something to spend points on in Full Custom. Added it to my notes. 

[Anonymous said]: Have a succubus slaver who used to be a lamia. On level up, she had the option to get the Fleet trait, which I thought was off-limits for Lamia due to their body shape. I think it's a bug?

- Good spot and should be fixed as of the last update. 

[Anonymous said]: Noticed a bug with No Haven 0.903: If you select a human (or once-human) for your character, and then quick restart, your next character will keep the human's Racial aspect Social Lube. On the topic of that Racial, it says " includes one human, and three other different races/subtypes gain an additional Success" Does that mean one human and three non-humans, or one human and three slavers each of a different race from each other?

-Took me awhile to work this out as going from human to human seemed fine. However you’re right that those with a heritage like demi-angels or succubi will incorrectly keep the previous racial. 

The second so as long as you have at least one human you can get the buff by say having a northerner, noble, wastelander, and convent.

I do an update on the patreon every two weeks which is linked on the twitter. You do not need to be a patron to read these and is the best way to stay informed about what I’ve been up to. That includes the status of the conversion. To quickly sum it up;

It's at a stage where all the RAGS to Twine code conversion is basically done. What I need to do now is translate all that work into something playable and there's currently big logic issues with a bunch of the conditions and passages. So what I'm currently doing is trying to tidy up the visual look of the code with a bunch of idents with the theory that will make finding the errors easier.

Alas it’s not me disallowing guest posts... Picarto had some massive stonking issues and so they locked things down hard due to that preventing guests from chatting. I suggest a throwaway email site to get around that.

I don’t think there’s any art in the game file that’s not used as I try to keep on top of deleting the old ones. Not really down for doing art packs of the old ones as due to that not being my art so I see them as placeholder only until they can be replaced by commissions. 

I probably do need to do some kind of roadmap sometime. I’m less keen as it’s kind of a dirty word these days as due to the miss-use of them by others it’s got some bad connontations, but I’m also aware the alternative which is me randomly mentioning stuff on discord/picarto streams leaves the vast majority of my audience in the dark which is also really not ideal.

It’s not hit industrialization yet. What makes the difference is and allows cities like Aversol and even bigger to exist is that the organization of the human empire is far better than it has any right to be for the other levels of development being able to keep an incredibly complex supply chain constantly flowing even if on the ground level it barely seems to be moving at all. There are also some much, much larger farms both on the Great Plains and further to the north compared to the much more isolated single/couple of households ones that your slavers raid.

Love When Week’s End Comes for a recent one. Writing all the results in colour commentary (and all the variations for weather, events and outcomes) was a real challenge and I do like how it came out. 

Witch-Queen and Arisin’ for being the first times I tried to go for a different, more potentially disturbing/freaky mood, and I’m pleased with the results. 

Sable Masquerade as I really like the ‘bad end’ I came up with. Actually I like the whole thing as while the pitch from the patron obviously helped, a lot of it was inspired by a random superhero bondage party picture I saw on HF, which I decided to run with, and had a bunch of fun exploring.

Clothing management. So very much clothing management. I’ve redone it entirely twice now, and it’s still not where I want it to be. 

[From the Discord]: What was your inspiration for creating the setting of No Haven?  Has the direction the game has gone varied from your initial idea? If so what has been the biggest change?

- It started off with adapting the chan game Deeper Dungeons which was basically a certain popular mmo with nothing different about it outside of it being porn along with some possibly unwise options of personal abuse. I first changed it by ditching gnomes for neko which to my mind was a clear upgrade. There even used to be an examine refference in the RAGS version to suggest they’d been in the region of the dungeons before being driven out.

Then it was a gradual process of adding with the occasional subtractions to get it closer to a more Warhammer feeling setting which has always been a major love of mine when I was still doing Whorelock’s in RAGS.

With No Haven it was a case of building on what I’ve done there and expanding upon that with the race lore and assignment descriptions. Biggest was probably when I did the favoured/unfavoured stuff and added a ton of extra backstory to various races to justify the choices made there.

Welcome to December, the last month of the year and the last month of the decade!

2020 has so many cosmic alignments that point to big change and a new way of doing things, and it seems that December brings the perfect balance of energies to prepare us for what’s to come.

The first significant event this month is Jupiter changing signs.

Jupiter will move into Capricorn on December 2nd for the first time in 12 years.

While Capricorn is not the ideal zodiac for expansive Jupiter, it will actually be protecting us over the coming months as we prepare to experience a line up of planets in Capricorn.

The two most notable planets in Capricorn at the moment are Saturn and Pluto. Their energy won’t peak until January 2020, but if we tune in, we may be able to feel this energy already brewing.

Saturn and Pluto together in Capricorn will see the destruction of things that are no longer working in the areas of big corporations, the government, the economy, and banking.

This energy is going to be highlighted all through 2020, and if we don’t make the changes, if we don’t ride this new opening of energy, we may be making things more difficult for ourselves.

Saturn and Pluto are working on more of a global level, so we tend to see the effects on a global scale, however we may also feel the need in our own lives to set new boundaries or break away from anything that feels restricting or limiting.

Under this energy, we are all being asked to climb higher while keeping our balance. We are being asked to challenge ourselves by extending further and accelerating higher. We have to stretch our normal limits, for that’s the only way we will grow.

These endeavors are all going to be favored in 2020, so perhaps throughout the month, we can really start to set some intentions on what we desire to build in 2020, not just for ourselves but for all of humanity.

On December 11, we have a slightly tense Full Moon in Gemini.

This is a more challenging Full Moon and will be highlighting where we have not faced the truth, especially in our relationships and finances.

As the holidays approach, our relationships and finances are often highlighted anyway, so having extra emphasis here may not be something we really desire!

However, we have to keep in mind that this is the last Full Moon before Eclipse Season begins, which means this our last opportunity to really own up to the truth of what we see and feel, and take responsibility for it.

What truth do we need to confront in our relationships? What truth do we need to confront in our finances?

The Full Moon will guide us to answer these questions and help support us as we take the necessary steps forward.

Saturn and Pluto, who will meet on January 12th, are also going to be very active on this Full Moon and may give us a taste of things to come.

Watch what happens on the world stage around this time as we may see the crumbling of things that are no longer going to support us in this new decade to come.

The meeting of Saturn and Pluto is big transformative energy that will shape the themes for the decade ahead.

Saturn and Pluto align every 35-38 years, however none of us alive today have experienced them together in Capricorn and none of us ever will again.

In the past, Saturn-Pluto alignments have been associated with ominous world events, however both of them are in the business of destruction so they can rebuild, and that rebuilding is what’s important.

December 21st then brings the Solstice and the start of Capricorn Season.

This is the official start of Winter or Summer, depending on where in the world you live.

In the Northern Hemisphere, this time of year is associated with the dark night of the soul. In the Southern Hemisphere, this is a time to celebrate the light.

No matter where we live, the Solstice will get us all thinking about what goals we want to set for the year ahead.

The start of Capricorn Season is a wonderful time for setting long-term goals and for thinking about those new year resolutions, so use this energy if you feel called.

Then on December 25-26, we have a Capricorn Solar Eclipse.

Talk about an action-packed holiday season!

This Eclipse is opening a portal to a new wave of consciousness and while it is intense, it does carry sweet, almost-lucky energy!

Even though December 25-26 can be a busy time for those celebrating the holidays, see if you can break away and light and candle. Meditate and visualize yourself aligning higher and raising your vibration.

If you are with your family at this time, see if you can use this energy to honor where you have grown, changed, or still struggle.

Our family can sometimes bring out the worst in us, but can also be valuable teachers. Being surrounded by family can be an amazing gift and lesson, so let’s try to use it!

It doesn’t matter if you feel you didn’t live up to the expectations of what you thought this year would be. It doesn’t matter if you had plans that never came to fruition. It doesn’t matter if you made mistakes along the way, for the time has come to forgive and release them all.

December is a month to celebrate where you are. To honor where you are.

Trust that whatever has dropped away from your life has no room for you in 2020. Trust that whatever has come into your life is there to help propel you in 2020.

2020 is a huge transition and turning point. It is a time where we are leveling up and experiencing a higher frequency of energies.

Even though the road may have been painful. Even though we may feel like we are not where we supposed to be, or not living the life we thought we would be, we are still here, still in the work, and still open to the possibilities of what we can offer life.

Team Titans #20

Is it sexist to point out cameltoe?

It's been about two weeks since I read a Team Titans comic book so I can't remember what was happening, which is probably a good thing. It's nice to see that my brain apparently has some kind of organic Roomba that cleans up after I've soiled my mind with terrible media choices. Revamping my old Patreon page has kept me away from re-reading terrible old comic books. If you enjoy my take on comic books perhaps you'll enjoy my take on The Bible? Or if you don't like reading astoundingly insightful and probably pretty funny commentary on The Bible if it costs you as little as one dollar per month, you can still bookmark the site because you'll get three free song reviews each week too! But if you want me to review a particular song, you'll have to give me money. I don't give my wisdom away for free! I mean, I do! But only in certain circumstances. I think what was happening in this comic book was a right-wing corporate and media conglomerate asshole (much like Rupert Murdoch) was preparing to time travel into the future where he could take the place of Lord Chaos and rule the world. It's the kind of plan only an idiotic super villain in a comic book could come up with. Any real life super villain would think, "I have so much money and power right now in a world I recognize, why should I risk everything by traveling into an unknown future where my biggest enemies await? Better to just buy a private island in the present and look at porn all day." But for some reason, comic book super villains are never satisfied. They never think, "I could retire with the amount of money it's going to cost me to create this death satellite!" The always think, "Man, having lots of money really kills your ambition. Maybe I should use it to endanger my freedom and possibly my life?" Idiots!

Based on these silhouettes, one of Lord Murdoch's henchman is just a gigantic sentient penis.

The Team Titans leader for the future narrates the big battle so maybe we'll soon find out who the mysterious leader really is! I think I've been guessing Terry Long throughout most of this re-read because who else could it be? Unless Terry's kid has one of those comic book experiences that ages him quickly, he probably won't be leading the team as a nine year old. Although I can't think why I'm ruling that out when I easily accepted Nightwing once driving a motorcycle straight up a skyscraper and Starfire falling in love with Wolfman-written Nightwing. A few pages into the battle, a bunch of Team Titans members (not from the titular and most important team!) begin to die. First killed is Gunsmoke. You might not remember Gunsmoke because Gunsmoke was a terrible name and Gunsmoke never did anything except help provide some context on the plot. We learned from Gunsmoke that the Team Titans were spread out all across history because the Team Titans leader created a truly inept time machine. Gunsmoke's last words (aside from "Arrrggghhhhh!") are "Great. Don't tell me y'all saved my butt in the Old West just so I can get it kicked in 1994." I guess in 1994, creating a character that's simply a guy dressed like a cowboy didn't cut the editor's mustard. The second character to die is Monsieur Poniard of Judge and Jury. He should thank his terrible name for cutting his comic book career short. "Mister Dagger," even in French, just isn't going to inspire the kind of terror that a super villain should inspire. And, yes, I'm aware of how many terribly mundane and crappy names exist within the DC Universe! I'm just saying, "One less is a good start." The third Team Titan to die is a nameless Titan in the background of Monsieur Poniard's death. She (or he) has orange hair and wears a purple costume so I think we can all agree why he (or she) had to die. You know, because Starfire already had claims on that terrible color combination. After Lazarium (Lord Murdoch's super villain name) takes down the main Team Titans in one blast, he jokes, "I love the smell of ozone in the morning." I know that's supposed to be a joke because he says, "Heh heh," immediately after. Earlier, Blue (unless it was Green or Purple or Yellow. Remember, the colorist of this current story arc is an idiot) quipped, "Yeah, and monkeys might fly outta my -- OOOOF!" So we have all the evidence we need that Jeff Jensen's main writing crutch is movie and television quotes. The fourth Team Titans to die is Two Gallon Hat.

I often come up with characters for my stories that I know are stupid but I insert them into it anyway simply so that other characters can call them stupid.

While all of the other Titans from throughout history are being slaughtered by Lazarium's henchmen (where did he get henchmen who put such effort into henchmanning?! I bet he pays a living wage, offers great health care choices, and provides a hefty pension), Mirage remains stuck in traffic on the streets below.

If only Mirage could easily do something to keep from being recognized!

I don't know what she did with Deathwing but I hope it involved a hedge clipper and a blender. Mirage steps out of the cab to find Cokie Walters staring at the corpse of Two Gallon Hat. Cokie apologizes for some reason which leads to Mirage threatening Cokie if she doesn't help Mirage save the Titans. Now how the hell is a bubble gum gossip reporter supposed to help with that?! "Mister Lazarium! Mister Lazarium! Is it true you pee through the gate instead of over the fence?!" Realizing that the Titans have met their match, Terra resorts to pleading her case: "Lazarium! No! Please — you can't just kill us like this!" Lazarium, who is a super villain who has really thought out his plan and understands the power of a truly great one-liner, replies smartly: "Oh, yes, I can, Terra — especially you!" I just got goosebumps reading that! Although after the Wayne's World and Apocalypse Now lines from earlier, maybe Jensen stole this retort from a movie too. Wasn't this the great line from the end of Die Hard 2: Dying Ain't My Thing when Bruce Willis sets the airplane fuel alight? Five hundred and thirty Titans got there asses handed to them by Lazarium and his goons. But not to worry because Prester Jon, Redwing, Battalion, Donna Troy, and just-out-of-a-coma Nightrider have arrived to save the day! And don't think they're going to do it silently! Battalion has a new battle cry that I can't believe didn't catch on with the youth of 1994.

How was this not one of the best selling DC posters of 1994?

Battalion goes down in one shot. Most of the characters will probably go down in one shot because Killowat will probably need to prove himself. Will saving the world from Lazarium be enough to make Mirage forget he's a racist jerk? Hopefully not! The first person to nearly put Lazarium down is called Liquid Joe. Being that he's called Liquid Joe, you know he's not going to wind up being the hero. His blast of slime doesn't even faze Lazarium. Time for Cokie and Mirage to save Killowat so Killowat can save the day! Cokie knows where Killowat has been restrained because she's a tabloid journalist. This was the era where we all believed Geraldo was going to discover the secret of the universe. Now we know Geraldo's only goal was to uplift Geraldo. That fucker will say anything for praise and a paycheck. I suppose you can say that about anybody who appears on Fox News though. After losing dozens of Titans, I have to admit that my plan would be to give Lazarium the time travel device so we could be rid of him. If he time travels into the future, he's not our problem anymore! Heck, he probably won't ever be our problem! The future no longer contains Lord Chaos so who knows what he's going to find in 2001. If in 1994 I were told that 2001 would be the beginning of some truly inspiring xenophobic bullshit masquerading as patriotism, I would have been all, "Yeah, I can buy that." Maybe that wasn't a good example. Killowat defeats all of Lazarium's henchmen with one push of a button. Then he goes after Lazarium. Lazarium believes he'll win for the same reason all bad guys (and Deathstork (who is a bad guy but sometimes people begin to think maybe he's a good guy who was never actually convicted of statutory rape so is it really rape? (Yes. The answer is yes. I'm answering on behalf of a large percentage of male Americans who would get the answer to this question wrong))) believe they'll win.

Technically it's not rape if you say, "Here! Take it!" I'm just judging by American legal standards which have an even lower bar than that to declare something isn't rape.

Killowat gives Lazarium a bunch of his power which causes Lazarium to overload and explode into a smoking scorch mark on the roof. But we can't believe Killowat has just killed somebody (even though his name depends on the idea that he kills) so he makes sure to think, "The overload couldn't have killed him. His corporeal form must be around here somewhere." Well, wherever Lazarium went, it's clear that this story is winding down, so he's technically defeated. But he would have been back if this comic book hadn't been cancelled in a few more issues! Oh wait! He's back a few pages later so Nightrider can feast on his blood. Now nobody has to worry about Lazarium anymore and nobody cares if Dagon murdered him because what's a vampire supposed to do? Not eat people?! Anyway, the time machine simply opens a black hole in the sky which consumes hundreds of the poorly named Team Titans. Preser Jon shuts it down and now the Titans have to deal with being part of 1994 forever. I mean, at least until the end of the year when they'll have to deal with being a part of 1995 forever. Or for a year, anyway. The final page of this issue reveals the leader and it's definitely not the leader anybody working on this comic book had planned it to be. Instead, it's Monarch because — guess what, motherfuckers?! — it's Zero Hour time! Team Titans #20 Rating: A-. I'm only giving it a high grade because this issue was the start of Zero Hour. Not that Zero Hour isn't a completely flawed premise that was just another gimmick to allow DC's editors to fix shit that the fangenders kept haranguing them on. But it is interesting that this terrible little Titans off-shoot comic book is where DC decided to begin the entire Zero Hour premise. My other favorite part of this is how we find out that Monarch is the Leader. My supposition is that Zero Hour was thought up long after The Leader was already a mysterious presence in this book. I'm sure the writers and editors of this book had an idea about who The Leader should be. Maybe it was Dick Grayson, or Terry Long, or Starfire, or a reintegrated Danny Chase. But it certainly wasn't Monarch which meant they changed the goal line as the story proceeded. Which is a microcosm of what happens during the Zero Hour event! It was obvious throughout much of Zero Hour that Captain Atom was going to wind up being Monarch. But since so many fans had guessed it and expected it, DC decided that instead of continuing with a plot and character arc that made sense, they would simply reveal that Monarch was Hawk. Sure, it was a surprise! But it didn't make any fucking sense. Fucking comic books!

FFC002: ‘Yosemite’ by Jake Newcomb

I’m excited about FFC002. In April, Full Frequency Collective will release the album Yosemite by Jake Newcomb on cassette, marking the first (and possibly only) physical release of the 2018 album.

In my opinion, Yosemite is one of the best albums of the past many years. I spent my summer last year obsessed with it. I played it during many commutes to and from my many jobs, on all kinds of trains and highways in New Jersey, Manhattan, and Brooklyn. 

There’s no new episode of the podcast today--instead of listening to Jake and I talk about the album, go listen to the album, which is out now on Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp (links below). While you’re listening, you can read a track-by-track commentary on the record, written by Jake, which I’m publishing below. We’ll be back to the regular podcast schedule next week.

A Track-By-Track Commentary on Yosemite

Yosemite is my first solo album, and it was very challenging to make, both physically and mentally. I believe the album is good, but the stories of the songs themselves are as important to me as the quality of the music. I wanted to give some commentary on the tracks to anyone interested.

Track 1: “Troubles” (Summer 2016)

“Troubles” began as a few assorted slap-guitar riffs that I began developing while on a cruise with my family in the Caribbean, right after I graduated from college. I began playing the chorus guitar riff on a balcony on the ship while we were heading to the island, and really dug into the direction of the song while playing on a beach in the Caribbean. I wasn’t able to put down any lyrics, or finish the structure of the song until a year later, at the beginning of the next summer. But within that year long delay between first conceptualizing and finally finishing the track, I jammed on that riff weekly, almost every day. I knew that it was something special. Initially, lyrically, I imagined it would have something to do with feelings associated with NYC winters (originally I had a running title on a demo as “Winters in NY”). A similar theme survived into the final version of the song, and the themes of friendship and empathy emerged. When I was finishing the song a year later, I tried to write chorus lyrics every day for a week, obsessively. It wasn’t until I began vocalizing “Ooos” over the chorus that I realized that it needed no lyrics, that the guitar was doing all the work anyway. It remains one of my favorite guitar riffs I’ve ever written.

Track 2: “Cross Town Train” (Fall 2016)

“Cross Town Train” was way longer when I first wrote it. It was also slower; I wrote it as a ballad. American Part Two, the band I was in at the time, demoed an early version of the song for an EP we were conceptualizing, but we ended up not using it. I wrote the majority of what became the finished song in one night, and I instantly knew that I had something good. The lyrics flowed out of me. Looking back, writing this song seriously began the writing-process for the entire album. It had been a very long time since I had written a song that had felt as real to me as this song, since I wrote songs years earlier for my old band, Cross Town Train, hence its title. Lyrically, the song is me trying to reckon with the reality of aging, and the immense power of nostalgia, especially in regards to falling in love. There is a deep yearning in the lyrics for youth and freedom—two things I felt evaporating in the moment—and an attempt to explain to a significant other how those realizations came to be omnipresent in my mind. I tried to express the deep conflict between reality and idealism that affects many of us in our early twenties. Which gave “Cross Town Train” a new meaning to me in the context of these themes: an escape from the conditions that we are left with.

Track 3: “Pure” (Winter 2017)

“Pure” was a follow up to Cross Town Train and was, in effect, the reality of life pulling the idealism out from under me. While the lyrics detail a relationship coming un-seamed, for me the song holds a deeper significance. An abrupt end to a relationship was a factor, but the song was born out of a harsher climax of circumstances that terrified me. In that way, this song was a revelation that things as I knew it were wrong, that somewhere along the line I had miscalculated many other factors in my life, which made the end of the relationship all the more tragic. It was an epiphany. Writing it denoted the complete end of one era of my life, and the beginning of a new one. I had Alex and Fred from America Part Two feature on the track, because they were there when I wrote it, and we tracked it together as a band, but never released it. We recorded a version of the song together on a cheap acoustic guitar, but I re- recorded it on a piano while making the record.

Track 4: “Die Alone” (Winter 2017)

Die Alone is the most aggressive song on the album, and I was scared to write it. The lyrics grapple with a fear of death. Specifically, I attempted to elucidate not just a personal fear of dying alone, but the fear of a loved one dying a lonely death. The song begins in 7/4, which I think starts the song at a frantic pace. It dovetails with the lyricism in a way that I love. I wrote the vocal melody following what the lead guitar is playing, which I do not often do, but I think worked well in this case. The vocal takes I did on the track were some of the best I’ve ever done, and are probably my favorite takes from the entire album. On most of the record, I sing softly, but I had to belt this song to match the intensity of the instrumentals. I wrote it maybe a week after I wrote “Pure,” and in my mind, it is a direct response to that track. This was another song that we demoed for America Part Two but didn’t make the cut. When I brought it back to the table for Yosemite, I changed some of the lyrics and made a few tweaks. Those tweaks were the last real changes I made to the album before I went into the studio.

Track 5: “Sparky” (Fall 2016)

“Sparky” is the centerpiece. In the fall of 2016, my family’s yellow labrador retriever, Sparky, passed away. The next day, my dad and I jammed on D Major and this song came out of that session. To me, D Major sounds like how sunshine feels. Sparky had been suffering for months before she passed, and we were all worried about her. We were very upset when she passed, but relieved that her suffering was over. Of every song on the record, this one brings me the most joy.

Track 6: “Warped Tour” (Spring 2017)

“Warped Tour” was written as the winter was finally ending, and I could finally sit on my back porch and play guitar outside again. For some reason, as I was playing on that porch I began to think back to about a decade earlier, when my friends and I first started to get into music. Events like the Vans Warped Tour superseded holidays in our minds, because we could experience live music and the culture surrounding it in abundance. It was a whole new world, and one that sent myself and countless people I know on long journeys playing music, touring, philosophizing music, worshipping it. While writing, I was unaware that the Warped Tour would come to an end in 2018, but by that point, I had stopped attending, as my music tastes had shifted significantly from what the festival was promoting. With the lyricism of this song, I tried to contrast the present I was living with the rose-colored past of experiencing music for the first time. I got one of my best friends, Eoin, to sing the bridge. We were in Cross Town Train together, and many of my memories of pure love of music are from experiences with him. The song wouldn’t be the same without him.

Track 7: “Little Things” (Summer 2017)

“Little Things” was the first song I had ever written on the piano. At the time, I had a keyboard in my kitchen, and my friends and I would often gather around the table and play songs around it. Through that, I started practicing and learning the chords and transposing songs from guitar to the keyboard. There is an early recording somewhere of myself, Eoin, Fred, and Mike playing “Little Things” around the keyboard, everyone with their own instruments (guitar, maracas, harmonica.) I had just heard a news report that the ice in the Antarctic was melting at a way faster rate than scientists had been predicting. It was pretty big news that summer, and inspired me lyrically. I knew from an early point that I wanted to have a guest vocalist sing the second verse, and was extremely lucky that Avery Mandeville was available to sing it. Her takes were perfect, and I couldn’t believe the harmonies in the second chorus were real. We met at an open mic that she hosted. I would go there to practice playing by myself, which seriously helped me prepare to record a solo album. In that way, she helped out more with the album than just lending her voice.

Track 8: “I Wish That We Were In Love” (Summer 2017)

“I Wish That We Were In Love” challenged me as a songwriter more than maybe any other song I had written in my life at that point. Several of the riffs I had been playing around with for years, but when I finally sat down that summer to write a song using them, it was extremely difficult. I knew that the song was going to be long, but for a few weeks, I constantly edited the song, added new parts, removed others, wrote new lyrics. It is the only song on the record in Drop D tuning, which was awesome. The song is in D Major, and downtuning the low E to D made the D chords sound more substantial than they would have sounded in standard tuning. At the time, Alex, Fred, and I had a garage where we would practice. Every night, I would work on this song in the garage, trying out new additions and subtractions. I wrestled with this song for so long until I finally got it to a place where I felt comfortable with it. And then I got to the studio, and Adam made some seriously incredible suggestions on further changes which gave the song much needed brevity and action. Lyrically, this song was an attempt to tell the story of a complex relationship, and I think the transitions the song moves through accentuate those complexities. Out of everything on the record, I think this song is in its own little category for me, as the experimental one.

Track 9: “Yosemite” (Summer 2017)

I wrote “Yosemite” overlooking Yosemite Valley in California. A few days earlier in San Francisco, I bought a miniature acoustic guitar with nylon strings, which I tuned to A instead of E. On my final day in San Francisco, I started playing around with the guitar by the Bay, jamming riffs, looking towards the Golden Gate Bridge. A few days later, I turned those riffs into the song Yosemite during my final full day in Northern California. I knew as I was writing it that I had just completed something significant. And when I stood up after writing the song to take a picture of the Valley, I knew I had just taken the album cover of my first full-length album. Up until that point, I had never conceptualized any of the other songs as belonging to a whole. Following that experience, the entire previous year had become reframed in my mind, and all of the songs connected as a record. I will never forget it.

As some of my followers have probably noticed, I’m taking the blog in a new direction. Not sharing my drawings any more and mostly reblogging shitpots and posting edgy social commentary instead. Oh, the blog is no longer family-friendly, I guess.

The blog was a sort of a test for humanity. It has failed (that is it costed me way more money than it brought, no one gives a fuck about artists).

The reason why I started this blog was trying to start a Patreon, nevermind, it was a pipe dream anyway.

So, I’m semi-officially announcing that I’m working on a video game (that’s why I’m learning programming).

Its working title is Project Purity.

Oh gosh, now I’ll get to write a game vision document :D ! I haven’t done so since the ill-fated Iron Throne Project mod for Baldur’s Gate 2. I’m going to post it soon!

Okay, it probably won’t be most awesome because I can’t afford the high production values of Diablo but it certainly won’t be so stupid. Maybe Project Purity 2 will be most awesome, though.

I’m going to aim for mechanical realism, though.

I’m a great fan of realistic wargames. At least I was until I realised that wargames are impure because they feature war.

Project Purity will be a skirmish wargame about individual fighting against forces of evil, like in Diablo and similar cRPG games except realistic.

That’s my new adventure. I’m very excited to undertake it!

Planetary Energy February 2019 ~ Manifest Joy

Today is February 4, 2019, the new moon occurred at 1:04 PM PST. We had snow last night here in Seattle and it is beautiful. The temperature is 25 degrees, so I think the snow will stay for a while. It is like a holiday here. Tomorrow is the beginning of the Chinese New Year of the Pig. Happy Chinese New Year to all. The Pig is supposed to bring a fairly good energy to the Earth during this upcoming year although the planets will be very intense until the full moon of February 19, 2019.

The sun and moon are on 15 degrees Aquarius on this new moon day. This degree means “A big business man at his desk. This man has the ability to organize the many aspects of an enterprise involving a large group of people.” Maybe we will hear something in Trump’s speech tomorrow night that will affect many people. In the past lunar eclipse on January 20, Saturn was affecting the degree of Washington D. C. The energy from that lunar eclipse will last at least until the February full moon. Saturn was in a square aspect to Mars at that eclipse and this is when the challenge between Nancy Pelosi and Donald Trump occurred. This new moon will bring a continuation of that past eclipse energy.

Today, Mars in on 23 degrees Aries conjunct Eris on the same degree. Eris is the Goddess of chaos and both Mars and Eris are in opposition to Lilith the dark moon. This energy is affecting us here in Seattle with all of the accidents that are occurring because of the snow and I am sure it is also affecting other parts of the world. Eris is on the degree of “Openness to the influx of spiritual energies. The wind blows through this open mind – window and brings into the house of personality a promise of more-than-material potency. The mind opens to an influx of spiritual and creative energy.” The wind really blew here at my house last night and this morning. There are storms all up and down the West Coast. California has been hit pretty hard and this weather will continue for a few more days.

The above aspect was also square Pluto, which is on 21 degrees Capricorn. This degree means: “By accepting defeat gracefully, a General reveals nobility of character”. The fact that this energy is over Washington D.C. is very interesting. I wonder how this energy will work out.

Chiron, the healer is on 29 degrees Pisces. It has been in that sign for the past nine years. Pisces is a very emotional sensitive sign and is sometimes called the poor-me sign. It is the last sign of the zodiac and the people born in that sign sometimes choose to have many challenges in this life-time. Chiron was going through the sign Pisces between 2010 to 2019. This is when many of us went through a process of releasing all of our old stuff. On February 18 Chiron will move into Aries where it will stay for 9 years. This will be the beginning of a new cycle of healing methods, or new inventions will come forward that will heal people instantly. This will be a very exciting time period.

Mars will move from Aries into Taurus on Valentine’s Day February 14. What a present! Mars will no longer interact with Eris and on March 6 Uranus moves into Taurus. This is when the energy for peace will finally start manifesting. I’m not saying peace will start on that day. I am saying we go into a new 7 year cycle of Uranus in Taurus which is ruled by Venus, the planet of peace and love. The Spring Equinox will bring a new beginning.

The Energies of the Full Moon The full moon will be on February 19, 2019 at 7:54 AM PST. The full moon always brings a culmination of what started at the new moon. This full moon will be on 0 degrees Virgo. This means we will have the desire for perfection and will want to see our ideals incarnated into material form. In other words, it is time to focus on our thoughts and create what we choose to experience.

Regulus, the Royal Star of the Lion is on the degree of this Virgo full moon. Regulus ushered in a 2,000 year cycle of Virgo, the Goddess, on July 11, 1991. This is when we entered the sixth sun in the Mayan system. The sixth sign is Virgo. The year 1991 started the age of the Goddess. Woman started feeling this energy and said to themselves “let’s start changing the world”.

At the last election in November of 2018 women won many seats in Congress in the USA. This started activating women power big time and it is now time for this women power to become very active. It is time for Goddess energy to become dominant. Goddess energy represents the love we carry in our hearts and this includes both men and women.

The sun will be on 0 degrees Pisces on this upcoming full moon. This degree means it is the beginning of the end. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and this will give us another month to release anything else that we might still be holding onto that needs to be released. The new beginning comes at the time of the Spring Equinox on March 20.

Saturn will be on 16 degrees Capricorn on this full moon. This is the degree of The Tower Struck with Lightning in the Tarot. Saturn rules governments and control. We will see how this works out, although it does not look good for the ones who have been controlling us for so long. This process will probably last until the Spring Equinox.

Jupiter is on 20 degrees Sagittarius at this full moon and in the Tarot this card rules judgment. Sagittarius rules courts of law, lawyers, truth and justice. Jupiter is the symbol of the father in Greek Mythology and at this time Jupiter will want justice for all. This could mean that the full moon of February will start the process of actually judging the people who have controlled us for so long.

The last paragraph in Revelation Chapter 20 talks all about judging everything. We are now in that energy. Once we stop judging we will manifest a higher frequency and be able to see the New Heaven and the New Earth. Here are a couple of links I thought you might enjoy. Walk softly in the energy of love. Be kind to people. You never know what people are experiencing and a smile might just make their day. Enjoy life. Laugh at your troubles, are they really that bad? It’s all an illusion anyway. Dance and listen to happy music. Go for a walk and enjoy nature. Do whatever makes you happy. A smile a day keeps the doctor away. Live, love and manifest joy.

December Full Moon~Let Go of All That is Dense & Heavy

The December Full Moon is the last Full Moon of the year, the decade, and before Eclipse Season begins!

It carries strong release energy and falls on the 11th or 12th depending on your timezone, in the sign of the twins, Gemini.

As this Full Moon falls in the sign of the twins, we may find that things unfold in pairs or two areas of our lives may be Highlighted under this energy. We can experience this on an emotional level too by feeling in two minds about something.

Regardless of what is stirred under the Full Moon, it gives all of us the opportunity to release and let go of things we no longer wish to take with us into the New Year.

It is also our opportunity to release and let go of issues that were circling within a month either side of the last Eclipse on July 16th, 2019.

If there is something unresolved since this time, or more information needed, you may just find that the December Full Moon starts stirring things to bring some release or closure.

December can be an extremely busy month for many, with travel plans, family commitments, holiday parties and more, but if you can, try to take some time to think about what you no longer wish to bring with you into 2020.

What habits, patterns, or behaviors are you willing to let go of to make room for a New Way of Being?

If anything comes to mind, set an intention, say a little prayer, or write it on a piece of paper to burn. Doing this under the vibrations of the December Full Moon will offer extra support and will help put your intention in motion.

Use this Full Moon energy to check in with your SELF, to rest, to restore, and to let go of all that is dense and heavy.

There are strong healing vibes around this Full Moon as just after it peaks, Chiron, the asteroid of healing will go direct after being retrograde since July 8th, 2019.

This is the perfect time to schedule that check-up, to boost your immunity, or to spend a little extra time on Self-Care.

If you have any nagging symptoms, don’t let them slide! Book that doctor’s appointment or go get a second opinion. Taking charge of your health is really going to be favored under this Full Moon.

The same goes for our mental and emotional health too. If you need some support, reach out to a therapist or friend. Or try to get yourself out of a funk by doing something new, exercising, eating healthy, or meditation.

The Gemini Full Moon may also trigger our relationships and finances, this is mostly because the planet Venus is very active.

In fact, at the time of this Full Moon, she is nestled right in-between Saturn and Pluto, forming what is known as a triple conjunction, and we will feel her energy strongly!

If we have been feeling a little uncertain about a relationship or struggling with some challenges in a relationship, this Full Moon may present an opportunity to progress things along in either direction.

Breaking up or setting firm boundaries with someone is never easy, but there’s something about the holiday season that can make it even more difficult.

If issues in a relationship arise at this time, don’t feel pressured by your family, by the opinions of others, or by the holiday season. You have to do what is best for you!

Of course, this is easier said than done, so don’t feel that you have to navigate all of this on your own. Gemini is the sign of the twins after all, so look to find someone to help you, whether its a friend, mentor, or professional of some kind.

Family relationships can often be highlighted this time of year anyway, so if you are feeling frustrated or emotional around the Full Moon, perhaps find a way to protect yourself from anyone in your life that is a known trigger.

While this Full Moon may highlight issues in a relationship, Know that whatever comes to the surface is better out than in!

There is a power in knowing the Truth and Knowing where we stand with someone.

If a NEW Truth or information does come to the forefront under this Full Moon, be sure to trust your instincts and give yourself time to digest and process all the facts before forging ahead.

If the path ahead is not 100 percent clear don’t feel pressured to act. You may have to sit tight until more information is revealed which could come during Eclipse Season.

While the December Full Moon can Highlight relationship issues it can also bring sweet, loving, creative energy too!

We may feel softer, more sensitive, and more open on this Full Moon and while this can sometimes bring its own challenges, we can use this energy to tap into Love, Compassion, and Kindness — and we all know the world could use more of these vibrations!

Our finances are another area that may come to our attention on this Full Moon. Again, this is something many of us tend to feel around this time of year anyway, but there are some ways we can use this energy to our advantage.

Within a few days of December 11-12, make it a priority to create a budget or to organize your finances a little. Look into opening a savings account or make some financial goals for the New Year.

Don’t be tempted to over-spend this holiday season! Think about your long-term goals and make that the focus when it comes to any holiday spending.

You may also find that the Full Moon brings some abundance your way or if you have some to give, you may find that you are the one bringing the abundance! Donate money to a charity of your choosing or clean out those closets and donate old blankets, toys, and clothing.

This Full Moon is great for balancing the energies of giving and receiving in your life so think about ways you can give and then open yourself to receive!

In true Gemini twin fashion, this Full Moon brings a little duality, but overall December offers some wonderful vibrations for us to tune into and enjoy.

Any intensity around this Full Moon should pass quickly and we will be able to find the gifts of any challenges with greater ease.

It’s the last Full Moon of 2019, and no matter where you have been and what you have done or not done, you deserve to heave a sigh of relief, to let the heavy stuff go, and to embrace the start of the New Year with some excitement or at least some hope of what’s to come.
