thank you for your respectful reply think just in a day when people are calling daniel fans all sort of names I just felt the need to address what u said! in regards to the tags u put, especially the ones about daniel's ig story, I am interested to hear your thoughts. Even as a Daniel fan, I can see it as tactical, especially now if he did know there were other discussions going on, but it also seems that it is something he almost had to do so that the media would shut up about it all and I do think he would have had to make mclaren aware he was making a statement like that...just interested to hear your thinking if you feel ok to share?

ok so. as i warned before i cant promise to keep my thoughts within the realm of like. respectful objectivity on this topic so be warned

essentially i thought it was really presumptious of daniel in that insta story to imply that the rumours were about him quitting mclaren of his own volition rather than mclaren firing him. when he said "i am committed to mclaren until the end of next year and am not walking away from the sport" it sounded like he was shaping the discourse as if people were worried HE was disappointed enough in mclaren to quit them before his contract was up.

i get that in reality its likely daniel is very aware that the risk was actually on mclaren's part, not his, and its likely he just couldnt rly frame it in any other way - especially bc as we have now discovered mclaren werent committed to him till the end of next year. it was a response to ppl who were already assuming daniel was a free agent, and possibly tinged w some bitterness that he has to write this kind of statement even if his seat WAS on the verge of being lost.

that said, to me it read like his driver's ego peeking through, like he can't picture the relationship between him and mclaren as one where HE has a responsibility and even after a year and a half of his teammate severely outperforming him he still thinks its solely mclaren's job to fix the issues no one but him seems to be having. or, even if this is just the way he's trying to showcase the situation to the public as if the rumours are so silly he didnt even figure out where they came from, it still felt like a subtle power play of you should be happy im even choosing to stay with you because look how worried everyone is (ie look how worried i can frame it so everyone seems to be) that i would possibly be leaving you.

thing is, by the time that insta story was released i had already fully lost patience with daniel's stint at mclaren. i was tired of p13s every quali and interviews saying he doesn't know how he's losing time or complaining abt having to adapt to a car as if thats not every drivers job, and mclaren app blurbs from practice sessions where lando was talking abt how to improve performance and he was talking about how he liked x country or y fans or had a good time for z reasons, but couldnt get the tyres to work or whatever (again im being subjective - not his fault lando is dry as fuck and allergic to fun in those mcl app exclusives). so like. i wanted to believe that hes at least trying his hardest and pushing for the team rather than for his own self satisfaction - which im sure he was, dont get me wrong, it would be stupid of me to say that i genuinely believe daniel wasnt trying, but that insta story certainly did nothing to help my frustration at the time

Kpop end of 2022 shows

In which I mostly slam 4th gen boy groups, so if you’re a stan skip this post or go in prepared to be offended. I am aware that this is off brand for this blog. But I’m also aware that I have a number of followers who are as deeply into Kpop as me, and...

who probably will unfollow me after reading this. Oh well, I’m gonna do it anyway. This is my tiny corner of the internet. MINE I tell you!

Look, there was no Between Us airing today, and so nothing for me to get my watch-along snark out on except for the 2 Kpop shows that Viki popped into my feed. So skip this post if that’s not your thing.

2022 Gayo Daejeon (stadium event)

OMG! Either mic them properly or don’t mic them at all! This is a music concert, right? Why can’t Korea ever fucking get the sound right in these goddamn bonanza shows? I had this problem with Kingdom (arguably more of an issue since that was supposedly made for TV) but it’s 100 times worse with this show. It’s so frustrating.

For example, with NCT, why is Johnny’s the only hot mic in the group? Sound tech on stuff out of Korea is mind numbingly confusing and ear wrenchingly annoying. I am reminded why I never watch the live shows and never go to Kpop concerts.

And now, here’s some offensive thoughts and unpopular opinions:

Yeonjun of TXT is one of the best 4th gen dancers ever fielded, and one of the better all rounders. But Kpop stylists gotta learn how to dress a dancer so that they can be properly watched, ya know, WHEN THEY ARE DANCING. No puffer vests, you brainless fashionista numb-nuts. Poor thing kept having to do wardrobe adjustments. Honestly, this plus their red carpet looks this year?

TXT desperately needs a new stylist.

Stray Kids

As a group? They really can’t sing very well or consistently, their strength is in their performance and rapping. And their rappers MUST to be micced hot for live - just KILL 3racha's backup recording, okay? They can handle it. Otherwise please just let them all lip-synch so we can watch them perform. It’s a much better experience.

NCT

Yuta has more charisma in his little finger than Taeyong has in his whole entire body. Doyoung is an incredibly underrated vocalist. Their’s was some of the worst miccing and sound of the night (which is saying a lot considering how terrible it was the whole time). Fantastic use of the stage tho. One the best stadium performance I’ve seen since GOT7. Also, 2 Baddies is an objectively terrible song - which is probably why it’s so popular.

The Boyz

Definitely the prettiest, how are they consistently so glorious on their visuals? Sunwoo keeps getting hotter, it’s patently unfair. But, oh my god, if you are going to have a group sing ballads, then bring 2nd (Highlight) or 3rd (BTOB) gens up there don’t use The Boyz (or SK for that matter). No one wants to hear unstable vocals, even if it’s a CNBLUE cover. Is it weird that The Boyz make me miss Seventeen? Same vibe... better syncopation. 17 is not as pretty tho.

Who is?

Well, UNIQ of course. But I don’t wanna talk about that.

Ateez

Jongho is the only 4th gen idol in existence who doesn’t need a mic even in a goddamn stadium. He is insane. But there is a reason the boy likes a handheld mic, because he takes his vocals seriously. And still the sound tech didn’t trust him enough to leave that mic hot? Frankly, it’s a crime that Jongho’s voice is wasted on a performance group. (Yes, I said it.) But Ateez did give the best stage of the night. They really are one of the industry’s hardest working groups at the moment. I’m a little worried they’re being pushed too much.

Enhyphen

Actually singing for a change *gasp* what will they do without auto tune? Ooof, I’m hella mean tonight. And... they seem to have been practicing their vocals since last time. Honestly? They lack the stage presence of some of the more experienced 4th gens. NCT fucking EATS up a stadium. Enhyphen looked a little sad up there by comparison.

MBC 2022 (New Year's showcase)

Much better sound (mostly lip-synching) and most groups handle a showcase stage better than a stadium.

The MC team was better on this one.

Any time the Boyz and Ateez would like to dance together, I will be happy to watch it happen.

I’m not particularly interested in either of them, but Tempest and Kepler covering Pretty U was pretty damn cute. But younger boy groups + younger girl groups intermixing on stage always comes off as awkward. Dancers should be dancing together when they share a stage together. It’s weird when they are clearly afraid to touch each other.

Hanbin is such sunshine, so pleased to see a Vietnamese idol at last.

As expected the bands doing live Krock had the best music performances. Well and the opera singers, of course.

NCT’s Jungwoo is Taemin’s little brother, they look too much alike, you cannot persuade me otherwise.

It’s a sin that Jeahyun hasn’t has a break away acting role yet. No babies, he really isn’t going to do us a BL.

It’s always great when the surfeit of music shows at the end of the year forces a group like NCT to divide and conquer, because we get to see some of the lesser publicized members do some killer performing.

NCT’s choreographer is phenomenal. Best in the biz?

A sexy cover of Love Killa is fine but if you can’t go hard on Monsta X’s raps then why bother? This only made me want to go watch the original. Which I did.

I’d like to see SK cover Monsta X but that’s about it. Maybe P1H.

Speaking of MX. Why did they cover a song where Kihyun (one of the most consistent voices in Kpop) mostly has to sing falsetto? What a damn waste.

Fun to see IM getting more confident in his vocals but I’d still rather see the MX maknae line rap.

And… thank you for doing an end of year stage Monsta X! Holding onto my beloved 3rd gens by the skin of my teeth here. Look I just love them, okay? Even down 2 members Monsta X goes harder than other groups, but effortlessly. They gave the best performance of my whole night, both shows, 6 hours of content and I’m just left wanting to watch MX comeback stages.

Am I 3rd gen biased?

Probably.

Bite me. But only if you can do it as hard as Monsta X would.

Human Tito x Reader

Chapter 1: Joining the gang

You were just sent to a mental institution that was for the criminally insane, you wonder if you'll ever get out. A few minutes pass and you decide to just sit down at a table that a group of friends were sitting. A guy named Jerry Robert Willis asked you "Hello there, dear! What's your name?" You respond "Y/N..." Jerry was interested into having you join. "Well, hello, Y/N! Would you like to join the 8 of us? We sure do love making new friends!" You reply. "N-No thanks." Jerry finds a way into convincing you. "We're actually coming up with an escape plan, we know how much you've been through and your suffering." Your eyes go wide. "Actually, I wanna join!" Jerry smiles as you accepted. "Excellent! Now, let me introduce myself. I'm Jerry Robert Willis, just call me Jerry. My fellow best friends will introduce themselves." A woman named Sara introduces herself. "Hello! I'm Sara! So great to meet ya!" A tattooed faced person with black eyes named Arthur introduces himself. "Bonjour! I'm Arthur!" Another woman named Camila introduces herself. "Wassup? Name's Camila, call me Cammy." A bald guy writes down his name: "Hello, I'm Ozzie. I can't talk since my vocal cords broke. I'm also autistic so you might catch me tip toe walking in the hallways. I'm just letting you know so the other's won't have to explain." A guy that looks like he worked out introduces himself. "Hi, new friend! My name is Gus!" A guy with a mohawk introduces himself in sign language: "Hi, I'm Knolan." Jerry helps you to understand him. "His name's Knolan. He's deaf but can read lips." A guy with a mustache and a beard introduces himself. "¡Hola, soy Tito!" You look at Tito and blush as he introduced himself. You're filled with love in your heart and can't even think of another word. Tito winks at you as you stare at him. You feel like you're about to burts with love as he looks at you also.

Chapter 2: Hanging out with him

Even though you have a huge crush on Tito, y'all both actually become great friends. The more you actually hung out with him came from great friends to best friends. He decides to show you his pet turtle that he found at the yard. "My tortuga is named Tito. I was named after him since they gave me that nick name. Do you wanna try holding him?" You blush at Tito as he hands you his turtle. "Aw, it's like he's so comfortable around you also." He said as he chuckles. You respond. "Your turtle's so adorable! His shell makes it even more cute!" He laughs as you compliment his turtle. You laugh also because the bond that y'all are making together. Y'all both play a little bit longer with the turtle until it was time for his turtle to have some rest. You have 3 times the size of the love you have for him than before. You feel so much love as you think about him.

Chapter 3: Love makers

A few months have passed and Tito decides to invite you to his room. You find it a little bit odd but goes for it anyway. As you walk down the hallway, you look around to make sure nothing weird was going on. You finally get to his room and knock on it. "Y/N! So great to see you! Come on in!" You walk inside his room and sit on his bed. You see Tito lock his door and you decided to ask. "Tito, why did you lock the door? It's not like anybody's gonna come in." He turns around to look at you and smirks. "Oh, it's nothing~" You feel weirded out and excited at the same time since you has a huge crush on him and he's with you. "So, why did want me to come in here? I'm just asking, not trying to being rude." As you finished your question, he sits next to you on the bed. He starts touching you waist and chest. "I just decided that maybe we could have fun for once~" He replied. You get a little nervous and ask him another question. "W-Why are you touching me in those places?" He turns you around and takes off your shirt. You start turning red and blush. "W-W-What are you trying to do?" You asked. He replies. "Just hold still, Y/N. Let me just feel right here on your chest to make sure you're okay~" He starts touching it s3×ua11y and around you. He starts taking off his shirt and pants. As he's about to bend you over, a knock is heard. Y'all both look under the door as a note is slit under it. Tito decides to get off the bed and read it. "Ozzie might've wrote us this." He reads the note: "Jerry needs us real quick for the escape plan thing. Hope I didn't disturb anything!- Your favorite autistic guy, Ozzie." You decide to respond. "Yeah, we should really go because it might be important." Y'all put on y'all's clothes back on and walk out of his room.

Bit of a ramble here..

Despite the recognition of the strength of Army, there is always talk about getting the attention of the general public, not just relying on the fandom. And it sort of takes on a new light (importance?) when considering how the fandom is changing (devolving).

Who has the potential to expand outside of the fandom? And where? Because the automatic answer is probably JK. Clearly the company's goal is to have JK be the mainstream breakout. And I think that's JK's goal as well -- and it makes sense. You can only be the golden maknae so long; if you are the lead vocal of the biggest K-pop group, etc. He's talented and he has a huge operation behind him pushing for it. I think he'll continue to see more mainstream success as a solo artist. But I also wonder what the challenges are....Racism and xenophobia, sure. The competitive landscape and short attention span. But also as much as he is pushing for mainstream success, he's also pulling back in other ways: deleting Instagram, relying on weverse, in many ways doubling down on the fandom. Those things may change but it's interesting to note that being his instinct/comfort.

I think Tae is a really strong case for building a non-Army fandom. I think he is putting in the work to build a non-Army fandom because he's building recognition outside of K-pop into other genres. That may be less mainstream but also will like be more constant/reliable and allow for more distinct recognition. He's also being really creative in how he's working around/outside of the company.

I think Namjoon and JHope are the others who are quietly building out individual fandoms in more underground/indie spaces. I could see them both collaborating and creating more in those spaces. Yoongi is a mix. I think he did some of this work earlier than the others with his mix tapes and as a result has a bigger/more solid base than the other hyungline and he's sort of happy with that.

JM is interesting. I lean more towards an intensely solo base. And I think that will work to support him within the fandom (like streaming) but won't encourage growth outside of it.

Anyway just random thoughts.

Gonna reply to some bits of your random thoughts.

Jungkook deleting instagram was his personal choice, but I do wonder if having it would’ve helped during the success of Seven. Tiktok was a smart reparation.

Taehyung is building his connections in every field and that’s the smartest thing an artist could do, he’s insanely talented and devastatingly beautiful, he just needs to be treated fairly by his company.

Hobi is getting recognized more after OTS, the collab with Jcole, he’s building his name in the hip hop scene. Namjoon more on the indie side. Yoongi is my fav in the rapline, but his solo base is not that strong.

I said it already, but Jimin is still navigating through genres and he’s taking the kpop routes, so I’m curious of what he will do. He’s still very connected to the group.

You liked performing with your friends. Nothing much, just a guitar in hand and a song to sing.

You had really bad social anxiety and never liked performing but playing the guitar made you feel so relaxed. It was comforting to you.

Your friends were the ones who encouraged you to step out and play with them

"Y/n your really good at the guitar! You should come play with us on Vivid street! It's perfect." Mila (my OC) invited you to join their group. "We're not much, just some casual street artists! Come on it'll be fun!"

"Uhhh- Okay..?" Your mum was trying to get you out of the house more often anyways.

It's been quite a while since you started playing with them and you enjoyed it.

Although there was always a crowd around you guys when you performed, you mostly kept to yourself and let Mila and the rest handle the socialising.

An was the one who caught wind of this unnamed group and wanted to check you guys out

Of course she has to drag the rest of VBS with her. An supremacy

An found you guys performing and MY GOSH YOU GUYS WERE AMAZING.q

It wasn't a really hype song but damn the vocals and instrumental carried so hard.

"You guys were amazing!" An ran up to Mila and clapped so hard. Mila smiled and thanked her. You were standing behind, guitar in hand, just shocked. Damn that girl got the balls to just run up like that. Toya and Kohane also came up to talk with the rest of the group while you take a step back hoping they were not going to talk to you. Mila can handle them.

Akito just hung around Toya. He didn't see what's so interesting about you guys. He actually found your playing really good but just didn't approach you about it.

Anyways because An is the most slay girl and best wingman, she invites you guys to hang out with them and Mila practically forces you to go too.

You guys end up hanging out at the Weekend Garage and you end up sitting beside Akito.

Great.

You found him quite nice actually, he was shockingly easy to talk to (yay!)

Akito: You like pancakes?

Y/n: I do actually.

Akito: What about cheesecake?

Y/n: Disgusting.

Akito: offended

You continued to visit Weekend Garage with Mila cos its nearby and damn they have good pancakes

At this point you had caught feelings for Akito and so has he

You honestly didn't want to admit it and just shoved that butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling away.

Akito, being Akito, also just kept it to himself...

An and Mila of course noticed and decided to get this going

They literally set up an entire day at the amusement park and said they would be going with akito and you and then they just last minute bailed on you guys.

"What? You and An can't make it? I-" They just hung up on you, leaving you and Akito standing infront of the amusement park. No way they were just gonna dump us here.

"Well- since they just left us why don't we go on a date together?" Akito suggested jokingly he really wanted to who is he kidding, looking right at you.

"No- I mean.. since we already paid for the tickets we should just go in-" You really tried to justify going to to the amusement park with Akito.

Akito just pulled you along into the park and you just let him. You were blushing so hard and trying to hide it when he grabbed your wrist.

You guys went to get popcorn and candyfloss and went on rides but really all you could think of was just spending time alone with Akito. It was literally driving you insane

"Oh it's gonna get dark soon.. Let's go on the ferris wheel before we head back" You suggested, a little disappointed that the day was over.

You guys boarded the ferris wheel and the scenery was amazing, everyone looked so small down there. As you were admiring the scenery, Akito was just admiring you ( ಡ ͜ ʖ ಡ). You noticed him staring and asked, "? Is there something on my face?"

"No.. I was just wondering if.. You would like to go out with me?" Akito's ears were turning red but his gaze stayed on you.

You were just stunned. It took you awhile to process but you managed to say. "I mean- I wouldn't mind- Sure- I mean- Yea"

Final Fourteen episode*. If I've added an asterisk it means that I correctly interpreted the vague spoiler I saw and am not happy. (Edit: Yep added the asterisk.)

Anyway. I'm just glad this means we'll finally get Gatwa!Doctor. We should have had him already.

Also forgot to put this in the last post. But. Pandemonium, the world ending, people going insane, and a Toymaker. My prediction for the plot of this episode: StarKid's Black Friday.

Sorry, all I can hear is Barney Stinson. I'm sure he did a bad German accent at some point in HIMYM. I like dolls but these puppets are creepy even to me. "Sunnier climes" OH, SO HE'S A RACIST. Hey dude. Tell Baird about the human hair before it blows up. "Imagine if it could talk." No no no. Be careful what you wish for.

Something I forgot to say much much earlier. I don't know how I feel about the intense zoom-in on the TARDIS in the opening sequence. It's almost a Torchwood level of dramatic zoom.

Very carefully not showing us Wilf's face. I wouldn't have wanted Bernard present for all this chaos either though. I'm sorry. UNIT has an Avenger's Tower now? I don't like that. I liked the Tower of London. But I guess Kate wanted to make sure they definitely didn't get shut down again. I was chanting "Slap him, slap him, slap him" as Kate walked up and when she hugged him I said "Aww" in disappointment. Oh Mel! I had been vaguely spoiled of her showing up too. RTD2, I would have preferred an Old Who companion showing up in the 60th special episode that was closest to the actual 60th, but oh well I guess I should be happy we got something Old Who at all since this really was getting close to being a purely RTD focused anniversary. "The pilot declared his right to land wherever he wanted." Greaaat. Sounds like an average day here in 'Murica honestly. "Why should I care about you?" I mean look everything I've ever seen of the Tories tells me that's just what they're like anyway. What is a Vlinx and why is it here and why do we trust it? I don't trust it. Ah. Bad idea to deactivate it for even more than a couple words honestly. So is everyone just prejudiced now? Like the racist toymaker?

TRINITY WELLS!!!!! NO WAY. NO. WAY. THEY GOT MY GIRL TRINITY BACK ON MY TV!?!?!?! THAT'S MY GIRL RIGHT THERE. I LOVE HER. Ohhhh Trinity deserves the big font for that.

I've found the one bit of RTD era nostalgia that instantly gets to me. Have Trinity Wells show up. I guess this is how everyone else has felt the last few episodes. Not even Wilf got that reaction out of me. I literally just SCREAMED "Trinity Wells!" Out loud. I can't even be mad she's spewing stupidity and is "anti-Zeedex" I am just happy to see her. That's my girl.

If nothing else comes from this episode, if I don't care about anything else, I got to see Trinity Wells again. Ok that really made me so happy just now. The Trinity Wells Show. Really showing us it's her. Ahhh I love her. Seriously I'm reacting the way I probably would have reacted if they ever acknowledged Frobisher during Twelve's era. I'm hoping that because it was the same way Simm!Master had came back as himself, it means Dhawan!Master will too. We'll see. And who grabbed the tooth this time? At least last time the ring was in a forest. I could believe someone was nearby to take it. But they're on a HELICOPTER LANDING PAD. In the secure UNIT building. Seriously who picked up the tooth?

The absolute highlight of the episode was seeing Trinity Wells. Literally the most excited I've been about any of these fanservice moments. That feels like it was fanservice just aimed directly at me. As if RTD2 was like "Hope's not gonna enjoy this. What can we do? No no I'm not bringing back Martha. Oh! Trinity Wells!"

*Asterisk time! I can only hope that Fourteen is just another Tentoo and will live and die a normal human life but that's not what seems to be the case. I don't like that there's just another Doctor floating around. I had been spoiled for it. I hoped I had misunderstood the post since I hadn't properly finished reading it once I realized it was a spoiler. But I interpreted it correctly. If it ends up being that Fourteen does eventually regenerate and kind of hops back into the moment the body splits into Fourteen and Fifteen, then fine. But like. Otherwise, if there's now just a separate branch of Doctors and regenerations and then Fifteen technically has to share the title of Fifteen with whoever regenerates from this Fourteen then I will be so mad. Is this Fourteen really Fourteentoo? Or Tenfour. CAN WE JUST STOP REGENERATING INTO DAVID TENNANT AT THIS POINT. Just have him come back as Ten, he doesn't need to be three maybe FOUR different Doctors!

Oh my god. If RTD2 pulls a "Fugitive!Doctor is actually a Doctor AFTER Fourteen and regenerated and forgot everything and then met Thirteen" instead of being a pre-First Doctor then I'll actually riot. If that's the meaning of the jigsaw of their history, I'm really gonna actually riot.

Of the 3 specials. The Meep was eh. It was fine. Pure nostalgia and a nightmare fuel alien monster of the week. However, I REALLY enjoyed Wild Blue Yonder. That was right up my alley combining aspects of a lot of my favorite past episodes. And the Giggle was fine. Better than the Meep, definitely. I love Fifteen. I'm mad about the bi-generation thing. I would have preferred if after the Toymaster was gone for a bit that Fourteen got sucked back into Fifteen or something as a way of the Universe correcting itself. I'm mad that for most of Fifteen's scenes, it felt more like he was Fourteen's companion. Not the next Doctor. ALSO WHY COULDN'T WE GIVE FIFTEEN SOME PANTS PLEASE. AT LEAST IN THE LATER SCENES.

Also is it still mavity? Did Donna really just ruin all of human history with that one joke?

Oh I just started proofreading and I realize my prediction of Black Friday was wrong. I really thought the Toymaker was gonna make everyone go crazy over a puppet toy.

I would love to hear your takes on how different groups/companies produce songs differently (or how they might be similar)!

there are definitely differences in terms of like what they mostly pay attention to in terms of the instruments used, vocal layering and arrangement and etc but i think in the end there are always gonna be similarities bc of how well... it's the kpop industry and companies will want to produce something that is trendy so i think in the end there's always a formula on how songs are made especially kpop songs i think there's a certain sound that kinda makes you go "oh this is kpop" and i am not talking about them singing in korean but rather the melodies that are used and etc but kpop as many people know it's not a genre of music in itself kpop is an industry bc, i am pretty sure this has been discussed and many people know, that there are many different genres in the kpop music like some groups do more edm, some do a more pop sound, some are more rnb or rock and etc i think you get where i am going with that!

(also side note i hate when i am looking for what the genre of a kpop song is and it simply says kpop and it's quite annoying) but anyways i think the differences start from there. but in terms of companies separately i have noticed a lot how songs from sm groups usually care a lot about vocal harmonies and there are many instances in songs where you can listen to harmonies in a song the example that comes to my mind is definitely exo's tempo bridge where that section is just harmonies and it's probably are very good harmony arrangement whoever came up with that deserves all the flowers and when people mention tempo i always think about that bridge it's very memorable!! also 127's superhuman intro is a good example too like the whole production of that song is still very insane to me! but in general i feel like sm tries very different types of music for their groups and they are not afraid to do so and i am pretty sure they work with a lot of producers internationally so that's why there's always something new they bring to the sound of a group and that's why most sm groups have something new and fresh every comeback but with that subtle sound the group is known for which is always very interesting to me as for jype... i think their songs for the groups in general are very performance driven if that makes sense like u can tell they were made to dance and perform in my opinion that's why there's just sections of songs where you have a part that spacious or with just the instrumental playing i am thinking about wannabe by itzy specifically but also likey by twice also has that type of instrumental built for a dance break and i think it's mostly bc their groups are groups that have a lot of focus on the performance aspect and end up making songs thinking of that specifically there's definitely nothing wrong with that honestly i think it's very interesting! not even sure if i want to talk about yge production bc... all i know of yge production is teddy and let me tell u.... he is genuinely needs to stop making the same sound or.... yge desperately needs to bring new people bc omg... i am not even gonna get into the whole bp think bc.... there's a lot but definitely it's sad how songs produced by their producers lack something interesting especially over the years they have been lacking something it's sad! idk much about treasures's and ikon's music but from what i know the members participate in their songs and honestly from what i heard from treasure's music... it's pretty good (going crazy soty) yeah but in general for the future they should start investing on getting new people to produce music for their groups bc atp the sound is becoming too similar and they need a new start! for hybe.... well this is complicated since hybe is a lot companies in one (😭) and there's not a way to really say what their production style is bc their individual companies have ways to do music differently even tho their producers appear in some of the groups music

Track eleven — Dream.

Y/N’s mornings had not been the same ever since Seokmin left, and contrary to what she made her friends believe, not being able to hear the man’s voice that surpassed by far that of every angel in existence harmonizing together, was slowly driving her insane. Well, this might be an exaggeration, but that’s how it felt for the young pianist. The past three weeks had passed, so painfully slow, with a sudden change of morning routine, waking up a few minutes later than usual, walking just a few steps to reach the bus stop, and listening to Yeojin’s morning rant during the whole ride to campus; Seriously, how could someone have that much energy barely an hour after waking up? Y/N was genuinely impressed about her roommate’s routine, stretching, doing her makeup, hair, sometimes even face masks, it was sort of admirable how the influencer had so much willpower and dedication for her personal image.

Looking on the bright side, at least her job had not become unbearable after Seokmin left. As promised, Heeseung had started to include the piano once again in his lessons, now feeling more comfortable with the instrument after getting tutored by Y/N. It was hard to believe how someone who started from nothing could take seven days to practically master the piano, but the new vocal coach proved it was totally doable, or mayhaps he possessed a special talent that exponentially boosted his learning abilities when it came to music. Either way, lessons were going as planned and all the items on the list left by Seokmin were slowly but surely getting crossed off; How he had been able to create a plan for three whole months was beyond the girl’s understanding, she was an assistant after all, but of course that did not mean her job was any less important, because if it were not for her regular guidance, Heeseung would have not been able to fulfill his task as a vocal instructor.

Speaking of the academy, a special lesson would take place today, as it was finally time for the students to sing in duets, instead of having all of the eight students to harmonize together with a few solos here and there. As Seokmin had instructed, the kids should now be ready to perform while getting a little more spotlight, that’s why all of them were currently getting in pairs and choosing an adequate song for the task.

一How are we gonna get in pairs when there’s three of us…一 Sunoo said amidst the sudden fuzz that flooded the classroom, but he got no answer from his friends, as Jungwon was already taking Riki’s hand in his and dragging him to the opposite side of the group, not sparing a single glance in the confused boy’s way 一What’s up with him?一. The eldest of the trio shook his head and scanned the area until he spotted a girl sitting alone amidst all the already formed pairs of students, she was the same one who had brought up Kim Mingyu into the conversation the other day. He sighed and approached her with rather heavy steps 一Hey Liz, do you wanna be my partner for this song?一. It was not as if they had an alternative anyways, so she nodded and gestured for him to sit beside her.

一Okay, is everyone ready?一 Heeseung said after making sure all of the students were back on their chairs. Some of them looked more enthusiastic than others, but the four pairs answered affirmatively in unison. 一As you can guess, it’ll be difficult to practice four songs at the same time today, so for now, you guys will have to choose a song and practice for the next class一 Sunoo and Liz stared wide-eyed at each other after hearing that 一Then, you will take turns to perform what you have prepared, and I’ll guide you on things that could be lacking, understood?一.

After the lesson was done for the day, both teachers were busily packing their stuff and putting jackets on, when the pair of unconventionally partnered students approached the pianist. 一Miss Y/N… Sorry to bother you, but we haven’t chosen a song yet, could you give us a recommendation?一 Liz shily asked, earning a sigh from the older girl. Why did all of the students insist on referring to her in such a formal way? There was barely an age gap!

Y/N’s eyebrows knitted together as she pondered between some options, until she remembered a particular song that she discovered after checking out Heeseung’s favorite band, one night when she wondered what the boy’s musical taste sounded like 一What about “Just one yesterday” by Fall Out Boy?一 the vocal coach perked at the mention of the familiar title, turning his head towards her 一You might not know the song, but…一

一It’s a bad idea一 Heeseung meddled, approaching the small group 一You guys should sing something you feel familiar with一 He continued, ignoring Y/N’s surprise and Sunoo’s death stare 一What about “Dream”? By Baekhyun and Suzy… It’s a famous song一. Indeed, both students knew about it. Liz nodded and thanked the instructor, though her partner simply rolled his eyes and followed the girl outside the classroom.

After the confusing exchange, the pianist could not help but wonder why her co-worker reacted so quickly to avoid the kids from choosing her recommendation. Was he gatekeeping the song because it was from his favorite artist? She would never admit it, but deep inside Y/N had expected a different reaction from him, like feeling glad that she had used some of her free time to listen to the band; However, Heeseung was not the open book type, and it was difficult to read his expressions, so the girl was unsure whether he was happy or not about her being curious of his interests.

It was annoying to her, how something so little like mentioning a song title made her head hurt just from thinking about it, making unanswered questions follow her all the way back home.

I don’t know if you’re already aware of them but I came across a group called TAN with their debut song du du du (they were formed out of a show called extreme debut:wild idol). I’m OBSESSED with the song for some reason and wanted your thoughts on the music video.

tan my second gen flop group reject beloveds......... you're obsessed with the song bc it's fucking GOOD that's why!!!! also i was not kidding they are hardcore channelling second gen with everything they've fucking got: from the song itself (r&b is decidedly not on trend rn) to the fact that the mv was filmed with $12 but they refused to use any location filming that would smooth out the rough edges to the prop based choreo to the STYLING!!!!!!!!! it is absolutely not reflected in the mv at all but all their music show stages are based around this black/white/gradiant duality styling that is soooooooooooooooo 'we have $8 and some pocket lint and a stray safety pin but by god we're gonna make this work' of second gen like my eyes blew out of my head every new stage i watched. like look at this!:

if someone had told me that was from 120322 instead of from 220312 i would have wholecloth believed them. the only thing that gives them away is that there isn't enough eyeliner. the ONLY thing. and i'm not even joking this is not at all a one off, this was a dedicated intentional choice that they upheld for their ENTIRE promo period:

but by far my favourite is 220326 music core where they have GRADIENT TUXEDOS!!!!!!! actually my other favourite is this gradient pink inkigayo stage, because obviously. it would have been so easy for their stylists to just slap some generic fourth gen type normal clothes on them (which to an extent they did do in the mv), but instead they really dug into this old style coordinating + themed outfits. the mv struggles a bit because there are a lot of ideas happening but see also aforementioned budget of $12. obviously companies wanna put out something big for a debut mv so i don't fault them there but i think they should have encorporated more of the opposites theme of the styling+choreo into the visuals of them mv itself. they could have done a lot more with light/dark imagery and with the umbrella in the choreo they could have gone for a gentleman/'kingsmen' concept that would have been a lot cleaner of a visual and also would smooth over some of the visual discrepency between the fact that one of the members first debuted TEN YEARS AGO and the maknae is still 17, and they can't really do the sexy second gen concept i think they were partially trying to go for. the gratuituous ass shot of taehoon was extremely funny though. you can do very stylized mvs for cheap (see my cheap mvs post!) and i think if they had done something similar to knk's sunset or even oneus' valkyrie (speaking of other insanely good debuts) where there's a heavy emphasis on lighting and camera angles and editing, it would have made much more of an impact. the less money you have to work with the harder it becomes to make maximalist decorated sets work, and sometimes you do have to sacrifice in some areas. regardless of that though i think their debut was success and if you haven't listened to the rest of their mini you should because all the songs fuck (i really hope we get a comeback from them because i want the second half of fix you so bad) and it's very pretty clear that they're all talented and have the vocal chops to back themselves up; see this acapella cover!!

I hope you’re doing well! I haven’t been as active cuz next week is finals😓I finished one today (we had to make a mashup), I just gotta give him the flash drive. My hardest ones are of course Monday and Tuesday🤡so I’m gonna spend all weekend practicing piano+my vocal songs & studying. i don’t have much skz albums cause I haven’t bought any since side effects era. as for ateez…I haven’t bought it since zero : fever era🥲 the binder is where I keep my ateez and enhypen pc. i have separate binder for skz since the binder is too small.

I’ll probably try to finish the ateez album series when I go Korea next year though! hopefully, I have enough money😵‍💫

ALBUM REVIEW TIME 👹

Today we are reviewing one of my fave kpop group’s new album MAXIDENT by Stray Kids with the title track Case 143

I just wanna say how I’m so proud of these dudes, they write and produce their own music and their skills get stronger with every release 🫶🏻 anyway on to the review

Case 143 - 7/10 - it’s definitely interesting. I was worried i wasn’t gonna like it all that much based on the snippet on tik tok but it’s much better within the context of the whole song. This song does what they set up in the previous release Maniac and improves upon it. Although the first section of the chorus is jarring, its a huge ear worm and im addicted to it. If Stray Kids were going to do a love song this is exactly how i expected them to do it 😭 (also give the music video a watch you won’t regret it, it’s quite funny, felix gets slapped by a cooked chicken 😀)

Chill - 8/10 - a song written and composed by our Hannie!! His songs are always so nice!! This is a cool jazzy style r&b song. It takes some similarities from lofi music too and some classic hip hop beats and overall its so good. Han’s solo written and composed songs have only improved since debut and i love it so much!!

Give me your TMI - 9/10 - This one is for all my living tombstone fans and fnaf fans!! The crunchy instrumental is everything and the drop into the chorus is so interesting. Also when Changbin starts the song with a strong rap that seems like complete nonsense, you know the songs gonna hit!! But yeah keeping up with hip hop sounds, the incorporate crunchy edm and alternative rock style sounds too and it just makes this song so funky I love it!!

SUPER BOARD - 6/10 - where do i start with this song… the intro itches my brain so hard. The “nada da shooom super board” gets stuck in your head so badly 😭 the song leans into a more rock style but instead of an electric guitar riff, you get these synth sounds and it adds that retro flare to the song. Although the repetition of nada da shoom super board can get a bit annoying and lessens the replay-ability of the song for me

3RACHA (Bangchan, Changbin, Han) - 5/10 - this is well and truly a Drill song. Like this is something straight out of the streets of south london. The raps of our producing unit are satisfying to my ears however this style of music just isn’t my personal taste and i don’t think i would listen to it often. Not a bad song tho ✨also ik chan is australian but im claiming changbin and han as honorary brits for this song

TASTE (Hyunjin, Felix, Lee Know) - 8.5/10 - when Hyunjin described this song as a cold version of red lights he wasn’t wrong. They need to keep this man in the studio his brain is amazing. 4th member of 3racha?? Perhaps. Whenever you put Danceracha (this unit) in the studio expect a hoe anthem honestly. I’m very proud of how Hyunjin and Felix’s vocals have improved. Lee Know really gets to use his more powerful vocals and that makes me so happy!! Also the drop in this song is insane. Listening to it isn’t enough i need it shot into my veins 😭

Can’t Stop (Seungmin, I.N) - 7/10 - my vocalracha 🫶🏻 this is a pop rock style song. They worked with one of day6’s producers for this track which you can tell!! But it suits them so much!! Seungmin and innie’s voices are so lovely the drums and guitars are so strong. You will absolutely catch me dancing about to this song 😭 however i will say that the mixing between the vocals and the instrumental feels a bit off. Idk how to explain it. Also they cut off Seungmin’s high note, gonna sob.

Circus (Korean version) - 8/10 - This was the title track for their lastest Japanese mini album so i’ve heard if before. Its a bop. But I will say i think the korean version flows a lot better between the english lines and the korean ones. Where as the Japanese version felt a little too sharp?? But yeah Circus would slay is every language if we’re honest

LASTLY I SAW YOU WERE INTERESTED IN HONEYWORKS! im worried i'll hit the character limit for asks but i'll try to give a brief summary of honeyworks itself! hnw is a japanese music group that started out with producing vocaloid songs! if you're familiar with vFlower (the vocal synth), hnw also produces him! anyway, their core members are Gom and shito, who compose the music, and yamako and mogelatte as their illustrators. they started with vocaloid songs but eventually branched out to human singers, and they're also well-known for collaborating with the singer CHiCO! and in 2014, they made a professional debut as an independent music circle with their third album and the beginning of Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai (Confession Executive Committee) or otherwise known as Confession Series as a multi-media franchise!

Now, Confession Executive Committee, which is too long for my own sanity so we call it CEC, is divided into two series, Love Series and Idol Series. they share some characters and character relationships (such as the shibasaki brothers and the narumi sisters) and exist in the same universe. most of everything happens in sakuragaoka high school, and love series takes place here almost entirely. i'm unsure if you wanna learn more about love series, but a brief cut on it is it's about three different classes (which are referred to by the fandom as generation 1-3) and their very fluffy high school romances. pls lmk if you wanna know more bc im gonna focus on the idols!

idol series is the one i've probably talked about too much, but of course it generally centers around idols such as lipxlip's shibasaki aizou and someya yuujirou, minami, mona, and full throttle4's rio, megu, dai, yui, and iv! romance in the idol series is never fully fleshed out yet also incredibly heavily referenced and expressed, as it focuses on the struggles and experiences of idols before, during, and after their debut into the idol industry! i've already talked an incredulous amount abt lipxlip but i also have more to say, most of their songs and MVs are hard to understand on the surface bc most of them exist as in-universe music videos (for example, if you watch the romeo MV of lipxlip you might think these two dumbasses are trying to woo princess sena, when in fact this is?? acting?? it's hard to explain but they're not really princes and the events of romeo as well as a good number of other MVs are entirely fictional, both in-universe and out. sena, my beloved, is featured in the love series and has a canon love interest! so she only views lipxlip professionally. and also aizou and yuujirou are. themselves.) part of lipxlip's stories is also suzumi hiyori! while she isn't an idol herself, she serves as lipxlip's manager in training and is constantly being tormented by these two fuckers. but they care about her a lot i swear. they're just like that™. there's a currently airing anime that centers on her story, it's titled heroine tarumono! kiraware heroine to naisho no oshigoto (heroines run the show! the unpopular girl and the secret task). she's listed as part of the love series but ⚫👄⚫ i pretend i do not see /j

Im not gonna lie to u this shit is all driving me insane. Like the urge to ask u how ur doing and how life is is so strong. But I know I would probably make things worse I think. I feel like I usually do in like every scenerio. Since then tho I have helped a lot of people. Including myself. I feel healthier now. I gained a little bit a weight lol but I even lowered my medication dose to it’s low west dose and I’ve been on T for a while. Im still figuring out this whole adulting thing still. I live with my gf now moved out of my moms house. I don’t drive yet. I was in a couple car accidents with the guys and now I’m scared of driving. But I’m processing. Trying to Make progress. I have a different friend group now and like idk I definitely changed like drastically. I’m more vocal now. I’m in college now and I’m struggling but I’m trying my hardest which is what anyone can rlly do these days.

I lowkey feel like ur sister is equally telling u all the tea that my sister is telling me about eachother. Kind of silly. Idk. I think our spirits might be connected tbh. I dont think I’ll ever ever forget u and I’ll always always care about you as a person. More than anyone. U mean a lot to me. Idk why. I mean we we’re just middle school sweethearts. But I genuinely believe that our souls are connected. Maybe it was all bad timing and maybe we just needed time to grow and experience things. I was still figuring myself out and so we’re u I think. But I think that’s essentially life. Figuring out an endless line and space of things and shit and things.

Anyways…… i think I’m crazy lol. No I’m not. But maybe. Idk. I hope that maybe one day we connect again. Even just a buddies. Just casual friends. I wouldn’t hate it. missed my friend's birthday today.

cuz i was sick. my gf went though (i hope i didn't spread through her (but probably)). i think he had a good time, my friend, and my gf had a good time with them all. it means a lot to me that she can go hang out with them and not be like, uncomfortable, there's people there who talk to her and value her thoughts and company and treat her like a human. this shouldn't be special, but it is. obviously, there's also guys there who aren't awful but are mostly among dudes. they treat me like an in-between thing i guess, when i'm around. something about that is gratifying to see written out, in-between thing, but idk, i feel more allied with the side that isn't those guys, than them. those guys also treat our transmasc friend weird as well. they treat me less weird than him because i'm older to the friendgroup, and our friend whose birthday it was, he's the one who brings us all together, i'm very vvery close with him. they don't treat our transmasc friend horribly weird, but still. i'm really only talking about like...4 of a group of over 10. these ones are the super weedbro contingent. idk though, i really like everyone basically. only one guy bothers me and he just treats everyone weird.

having fun waiting for ableton to open after it just crashed after opening.

i feel like i can at fix some of a problem with the one song i got to today, the mix for this one just seems very hard to get to the bottom of, something seems very wrong with it but i don't know what. it's, in my mind, right now, the vocals, they're muddy and dark, and idk what i am doing wrong, so i'm gonna try and use a vocal group from another song and slot the takes into that, using that fx chain. maybe that will help clear it up, but i'm worried the issue is these takes themselves.

i did get that drum idea down, i think, or something like it, an evolution of that, really happy about that. i hope this song comes out right on export, it's such a weird pain.

another weird pain today, but i won't go into it, because it's basically pathetic. there's just certain things that i'll end up seeing if i go on twitter and it makes me go kind of crazy. i don't know why that kind of thing is like basically a trigger for me. why is that a potential trigger, seeing people going crazy on something meaningless because they are miserable, it should be able to pass through me and be nothing, but i can't deal, it makes me feel bad and like i need to escape, it's also a place where i see people with such vehement opinions about bodies basically, or that's what i saw today, that it makes me question what i am/if i even belong to any kind of community or whatever. being so online really only increased my alienation towards larger groups. some people are so joyful in spreading what is basically a kind of super negative method of self appraisal and seeing oneself in the world, they hide behind it being some kind of hard truth, it's so ugly though. i wish people stopped spreading stuff from /lgbt/ basically, the whole worldview it basically has developed/allowed to fester. it's seriously so awful and people kind of bandy it/its language about like it makes you cool in some kind of edgy way.

it's always profound how lame everyone ends up being, on the other end of the sludge-spew.

anyways, the thing exported, i'll listen tomorrow, maybe i'll be a better judge then. currently i'm just thinking about how this funny is now:

every tiime i clicked on one of these because it seemed utterly psychotic, it reminded me of being in a hospital waiting room, seeing people there for reasons i could not imagine, doing insane things, fluorescent nausea. why was every one of them so sexualized too, did any regular blogger ever do those things.

anyway i am super tired and i stayed up way tooooo late.
