Interdimensional Moms: Bonus
Part 4 here<-
After many tears and tissue boxes, all members of team RWBY had finally stopped crying. Blake was the best off with her eyes a little red while Ruby was the complete opposite. The girl’s face was still rather red and her eyes were puffy. She hadn’t even completely stopped sniffling yet; much like tear marked partner. Yang on the other hand rested her head on the table. She had cried hard enough to giver herself a minor headache. She was completely drained.
Yang:Ugh, this blows! I thought this was gonna be a fun learning experience.
Blake:We definitely learned. It just so happens we had to poke at some.... extremely sensitive topics.
Weiss:I’m all for looking inward and self reflection but I’ve had my fill.
Ruby:Same. Should’ve kept the summary light.
Yang:No, I’m glad you got that off your chest. We just need a way to lighten the mood.
Blake:.....I kicked Weiss’s butt in a tournament.
RWY:......What?
Blake:During the time spent training for Salem, another tournament was held between the schools. It had team matches and singles. I kicked Weiss’s butt in my fourth round. It was a good day.
Weiss:How is that lightening mood!?
Blake:Listen, it was a big deal! I never thought I was gonna win the whole tournament but I really wanted to beat you. I love you but your head gets a little big when you’re on a roll for too long; plus I just really didn’t want to lose. I always felt a bit of rivalry between us.
Yang:Hehe, is that you’re way of saying “It would look bad to lose to a Schnee?”
Blake:Well it would!
Ruby:Hehehe.
Yang:Wait, does that mean we went back to school?
Blake:Yeah. It was pretty comforting. There was definitely a lot left to learn.
Yang:Weird. School kinda faded into the background.
Ruby:I went back to school. We all did actually. It was fast tracked by roughly a year but it was fun. We all got to pose in caps and gowns.
Weiss:Damn! I should’ve went back just for that. Unfortunately I was busy making rent and learning how to properly preheat a oven.
Yang:It’s like two buttons.
Weiss:Gas stove, and six years out of date.
Yang:Awww, you had to learn the hard way. I’m surprised and thankful you never left the gas on.
Weiss:There’s an alarm for that. Also I’m not irresponsible! Anyways, I mentioned similar tournaments earlier. I didn’t participate much but enough old videos of me in them were enough for to really light a fire under my kids. For awhile I was a bit concerned that they were just following a trend but they really love it. They used to always go around playing like knights when they were tiny.
Ruby:Carmine was a little different. She definitely always tried doing things I could but nothing got the girl jumping like seeing Yang’s horses or new ballet shoes. There wasn’t a morning when I didn’t hear a vase fall over or seeing her spin like a top. Carmine still hums some old routines when she isn’t paying attention.
Yang:Not too many memories of Yujin when she was pint size. But I do remember that wild child always loved using my bandannas for everything! Napkins, capes, ropes; anything but an actual bandanna. I used to get a bit upset with the napkin one but she’d always look at me with her big eyes and crazy hair. I never stayed mad.
Weiss:Softie.
Yang:She was like a pudgy puff ball! Fat cheeks and wholesome smiles. Ah! So adorable!
Weiss:I used to always have at least one of my kids on my hip when I was out and about. I think the media has a magazine amount of pictures of me at the park kissing my babies. Summer liked tummy rubs. She’d never go to sleep without one. Some nights I’d sing too but start to doze off so Jaune would have to take over.
Yang:*smiles* Speaking of Jaune.....
Ruby:No.
Yang:You don’t even know what I was-
Ruby:Were you about to suggest we compare our Jaune’s in the bedroom?
Yang:*red*......Well not just the bedroom! What’s the harm!? I just wanna know if he’s consistent across the board. No need to get detailed.
Weiss:You really never change no matter the world.
Yang:Can’t change greatness. It shows in any form!
Blake:He’s pretty compliant and accommodating. The benefits of being his first when I had prior knowledge I suppose.
Ruby:Don’t answer!
Blake:Why not? I’m comfortable with it.
Yang:Don’t listen to those two Blake. They’re just a bit more embarrassed since Jaune has literally been their one and only.
Blake:Huh, I never thought about it like that. Jaune would’ve been the first person you two opened up to on such a level; especially Weiss.
Yang:That’s still hilarious. All the protesting and somehow you found yourself stripping for the guy.
Weiss:Shut up! I already know! It was....I.... *blushing* emotions ran really high.
Ruby:An entire mental rollercoaster of thoughts and firsts happening all at once. Anxiety was high.
Yang:Heh, so you could say that Jaune Arc-
RW:Got through our walls. Hardy har har.
Yang:Shit, I am the same in every universe. Well I don’t have any reservations about it! *grinning* He makes me feel special every time!
Blake:Bottom.
Yang:I’m ignoring you.🎶
Ruby:Hehe, sounds about right. He...might make me feel a bit special as well.
Blake:Switch.
Ruby:How can you just guess off of that!?
Blake:It’s a gift.
Weiss:......
Blake:*smiling*
Weiss:Leave me alone.
Blake:I don’t know what has you embarrassed. You told us you’ve slept with everyone here except Ruby! I knew you were repressed but geez.
Weiss:For your information it wasn’t my idea! It was yours!
Blake:Not surprising. Let’s switch the topic. How is this other child of mine? Can’t picture me having a daughter.
Weiss:Veronica is very sensitive. Even if she tries to act like she isn’t. One time when she was tiny, a soccer ball hit her straight in the face and she sprung up saying “I’m fine!” Then you took her behind the bleachers to patch her up; tears all on her face. It both breaks my heart and very adorable to see her act fine while her ears are folded back.
Ruby:Your other son Kovu was a bit of cry baby. Partly my fault. Carmine kept beating him up and making fun of him.
Blake:What!?
Yang:Ha! Wait, that’s my kid too. How the heck!? Are you telling me you raised the rowdy child and I got the baby?
Ruby:Yang you’re a baby. I’m like twice as rowdy compared to you. A nevermore got worked day one at school.
Weiss:She has a point. You cry the most out of any of us.
Yang:Wha- that not- how....shut up! *pouts* I’m not that touchy.
Ruby:Kovu is a sweetie and not a cry baby. Carmine is just a little mean when she tries to care about others. She beat him up in an attempt to make Kovu give up dreaming about being a huntsman. That way he wouldn’t be in such a dangerous job. Reasonable logic but you know, a little over the top. Almost broke his arm. Boy did I chew her out. All it did was make him want to try harder.
Yang:Fantastic. I shouldn’t expect less from my own blood. I bet Yujin would like him. Which reminds me, anybody have kids in relationships?
RWB:We’re working on it.
The three women paused briefly before laughing at their meddling. Yang could only admire and fear her friends.
Yang:Should I be scared for your children?
Blake:Lucas needs someone to break up the routine in his life. I’m not saying he has to date her, but it would put a smile on my face.
Ruby:Carmine takes after me, not really thinking about stuff like relationships much. However, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t at all. Carmine tries her best to not act like she’s a teenaged girl with teenage wishes. But everyone sees right through it. I’m fine with her not being in one but I would like if she acknowledged that it’s okay to just....ugh, be normal! Why can nobody have normal knees in my life!?
Weiss:Nick likes Valerie who tries to deny she likes him by liking Summer, who doesn’t like her; while Veronica crushes on Nick who obviously has conflicting feelings.
RBY.....
Yang:Why is it always complicated with you?
Weiss:How is this my fau- okay it is a little bit.
Blake:Where do you stand?
Weiss:I think Valerie would be lovely for him.
Yang:What’s wrong with my baby girl!?
Blake:Yeah!?
Weiss:One, not yours. Two, have you met who I’m married to? Can’t really say he’s wasting his efforts. Though I wouldn’t be upset with Veronica. I think those two might be good for each other.
Blake:Any other bombshells people got?
Ruby:......
Ruby:Ilia is happily married.*sips coffee*
Blake:Oh that’s wonderful! I’m glad she found a loving wi-
Ruby:*smirks* To Sun.
Blake:....*stands up* I need, champagne!
A bottle of champagne poofs into existence with several glasses. Blake immediately pours everyone a glass before raising hers into the sky.
Blake:Ruby Rose, today you’ve erased guilt upon my conscious. I’m happy there’s one world where it seems all of my good exes get over me.
Ruby:Are the Ilia and Sun where you’re from miserable like Yang!?
Blake:No, but they kinda fumble in actually going for relationships. It just always makes me feel a little bad.
Yang:You can technically count two worlds. I’m fine, Ilia is dating a pretty secretary, and your one evil ex is now raising a morally good family.
Blake:You’re right! This calls for a double toast! To alternate universes! *puts glass down*
Weiss:Haha, aren’t you gonna drink it!?
Blake:No I’m still recovering; but how could I pass up the opportunity!? Man I wish I could attend that wedding! I don’t know if I’d be a bridesmaid or the best man!
Yang:You’re just gonna steal Neptune’s thunder like that?
Blake:Hey, Sun and I have taken bullets for each other and stab wounds. I think I deserve to be a little greedy and say I ride or die for that man just a little harder than Neptune.
Ruby:Geeeeeez Blake! Haha, I didn’t even tell you about the baby.
Blake:*visble excitement* Excuse me!?
RWY:*raises glass* Cheers.
Blake:CHEERS! What’s he like!?
xxxxx
Aero:AAAACHOOOO!
Carmine:Eugh! Cover your mouth! I don’t need to get sick.
Aero:Damn! What happened to uh I don’t know, “bless you!?”
Carmine:*pulls out tissues* Happy?
Aero:Where...why are those in you book bag?
Carmine:It’s flu season.
Aero:....I can’t tell if you’re the coolest person around or just a second mother.
Carmine:I can be both. My mom is arguably both but don’t tell her that. It’ll make her month and she’ll hug me too tight.
Aero:Bitch, you love hugs. Stop being difficult.
Carmine:Mmmm nah.
Aero:I feel bad for your mom.
Carmine:I feel bad for yours.
Aero:Hop off. You’re so childish.
Carmine:And yet you love me.
Aero:*red* In your dreams!
Carmine:It would make your day if I dreamed about you, wouldn’t it?
Aero:I hope you dream of spiders.
Carmine:We do not joke about that! *grabs him* Aero I will beat you up if I dream of them tonight! That’s just mean!
Aero:Stop crying ya baby. I could’ve said they were- ow!
Sun:*hitting him* Shut up and just kiss something! We’re trying to watch a game.
Aero and Carmine:We don’t like each other!
Jaune:With all do respect, that’s a lie. But please by all means Aero, continue not touching my daughter if you know what’s best for you. I don’t wanna have to fight you and your parents right afterwards.
Sun:Ilia would kill you.
Jaune:Yeah! That’s why I don’t want the fight! Much like Ruby, she’s short and terrifying. Her size holds the rage.
Ilia:*peeks in* Who’s talking shit?
JASC:Nobody, we love you!
Ilia:.....Got my eyes on you four. *holds Garnet up* and this one; the most well behaved in this bunch even with no nap.
Garnet:*fussy grumbling* I’m a ball of rage!
Ilia:You wanna nap?
Garnet:Yes!!!
Ilia:See, behaved. *walks away* don’t make me come back out here.
Carmine:....So do you like me because your mother is also imposing?
Aero:This is it, my evil origin story. It begins today.
xxxxx
Ruby:I admire his patience.

Fic writer review [Or a fic writer tag game if you prefer]
I was tagged by @naralanis and I can already see her grin all the way from where I am xd Thank you, dear, for the tag, let’s see what are my answers, shall we.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
*bursts out laughing* Adding both pseuds I have… 535 according to the account info but by counting them all I’m reaching 541 so I’m guessing it’s counting some drafts I need to re-find.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
I seriously hated you for this one xd I was going to do it by hand by I decided one-third there that I value my mental stability a little bit more xd according to the stats page back at a03 that number would be 1257884. It may be wrong. I think there should be a few more numbers up there but the majority of my works are one-shots so *shrugs* There’s also the fact that counting my ao3 things only is shaving off like half of it Xd Anyway, can we laugh at the fact that I’m a pain in the ass and that I’ve written a lot? More than I should have, that’s for sure
3. How many fandoms have you written for?
Trick question because I haven’t crossposted everything I wrote back in ffnet and I actually erased some fics from my account back there so the numbers are a little blurry there.
When I had the entirety of my work posted both in ffnet and a03 I had written for: Twilight (Bella/Alice) Glee (Faberry and there were a couple Pezberry and I don’t fucking remember the pairing name for Santana and Quinn), Harry Potter (Hermione/Ginny, Hermione/Narcissa, Hermione/Bellatrix) OUAT (SwanQueen and several oneshots focusing on the mad hatter and the blue fairy solely back at ffnet that were written in Spanish and never translated), I actually had a veeeery old au prompt of Frozen (Elsanna in where I wrote them as non sibilings), Rizzoli and Isles (Rizzles), Dishonored 2 (Emily Kaldwin/Alexi Mayhew), Lara Croft and Wonder Woman, Supergirl (SuperCorp/Supercat) I had a 100 one -or maybe two??- (Clexa), The Shannara Chronicles (Amberle/Eretreia [Or Princess Rover], Rwby [Blake Belladona/Yang], The Worst Witch (Hecate Hardbroom and Pippa Pentangle), The Half of it, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Madam Satan/Zelda Spellman) and… I think that’s it(?) I may be forgetting some but probably nothing important if I’m not remembering it lol.
4. Top 5 fics by kudos?
Ah, we are going to go there, uh? Xd My works are not the kudos and comment getting type Xd So I was quite surprised when I went to check this.
1: Cracked it I wrote this one back in 2017, it was a prompt done by an anon: Lena is nerding with one of her projects at home, mumbling mostly to herself because she’s stuck and Kara casually mentions how to solve the problem like it’s nothing. I really had some fun with this. It was back when some us, SQeeners were fully doing the jump between OUAT and SuperGirl (I mean, there had already been some crossover as for fandom is related but this when the girls were actually getting their conjoined voice within the fandom)
2: Dateless I honestly needed to check what this one was about but I think I can see why this one shot has the amount of kudos it has. It’s a short and sweet idea and responds to the Teachers Au that went SO well with SQ. Everyone thinks they hate each other and try to set them up with other people whilst they, in truth, are dating. I don’t remember if I wrote them as married rather than dating but despite being from 2017 as well is one cheeky enough to be cool Xd I probably would edit some lines now *shudders*
3: After you I truly didn’t expect this one to be top 3. Makes me think of a lot of things, if I’m being honest Xd. After you was a one shot written almost feverishly as an answer to the fabulous drawings that Sejic did of both Lara Croft and Wonder Woman back at 2018 or something. It’s just Lara and Diana being himbos but not at all with each other.
4: How about… How about is one I remember perfectly, it was my answer to the ending of the Half of it film. I had SOME thoughts about it, let’s just stop there Xd I really liked the film itself but I think and I thought at the time that my response to wishing for a final scene at the very end of the credits responds to me being in a different personal moment than the characters. I really wanted to explore my feelings about it and so I wrote about them finding each other again after some time passes. It was also something I wrote after quite the hiatus so I took it as something I could write about without focusing too much on the why.
5: Come to me
Ahh, SuperCorp Xd I remember this one actually. A friend of mine and I were talking about descriptions, and she mentioned quite off-handedly how she wanted a fic in where Kara’s back was described. I complied… more or less.
Fun tidbit, despite the big volume of my work is obviously set in ouat there’s only 1 SQ fic there as you can see, the others are either SuperCorp or the random one shots I created for Wonderwoman/Lara Croft and The half of it. *sighs in deep thought* I’m also not going to look too much into how almost all of the fics were posted and written back in 2017. Nope, not at all.
*Small voice screaming you peaked in 2017 and everything else is garbage jumps back and forth*
5. Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?
I tend to always respond, yup. I truly value comments. I might have gone for spells of time in where I didn’t have the mental capacity to check in old fics because I truly didn’t know what to answer but I treasure every single comment and you all who comment know that I can start to ramble in the answers xd -sorry about that- I really really REALLY love interaction.
6. A fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending:
Ok, Nara, come on, this one is a catch for me. I’ve written angst in far too many fics to remember the angstiest one :P I have the most recent one, though, that is the easy one to think about: Goodbye.Written for @delirious-comfort. I’m just going to say “Kisses with their last dying breath” as an idea of what awaits inside but I’ve written about death and loss and angst quite a lot. There were some I wrote back to SQ with Regina needing to kill Emma during the Dark Swan arc that, to this day, I still love and some others in where Regina is the one that dies, again and again, trapped by magic while Emma watches. I have the loss in mental destruction form and… I REALLY like my angst y’know xd
7. Do you write crossovers?
Not counting Lara and Wonder Woman not really! I think it comes from the fact that I loooove worldbuilding as a whole and some pairings would require all my focus into making the world perfect which in turn would make me self conscious on the OOCness of it all.
8. Ever received hate on a fic?
*snorts* I’ve received hate due to the pairing I’ve written about, how I’ve written about it, the amount I’ve written, how slow or quick I can be, the usage of some tropes, the lack of usage of those same tropes… Let’s just go with: yuuuup.
9. Do you write smut?
I’ve written smut, yeah! But I can already see the pointed looks of some so let’s elaborate Xd I write smut when asked and sometimes when not asked but there’s a part of me I like to call a terrible tease that prefers writing the beginning of a scene, taunt it, focus on what happens before the sex scene per se as I find it more enjoyable to write. The process of escalation is always the best for me to see what can I do it by using both dialogue and descriptors tbh, so I tend to tease more than show.
9. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
A few weeks ago I’d have said: Maybe(?) But trying to follow the trail of some other fics that had been stolen from some friends -I think it was me trying to find more about the page that stole something from your Nara!- I found some pages in where my fics had been reposted. In some it was stated that the person posting the fic wasn’t the author but I had never been contacted in order to see if I’d say yes to such a thing and in some others the page was locked up but I could still see someone was pretending to be the author. I did the thing and got some of those down.
Pointed note: Ask me if you want to post or translate or anything. I will look into you and answer you if you seem honest about the thing. But despite every joke and self-deprecating comment those 500 and then some fics represent MY time so very kindly I say fuck off to those who wish to steal from me and if I catch you… you don’t really want to see me angry, trust me.
10. Ever had a fic translated?
I’ve given permission to some, yeah, but never heard it back from them so I’m guessing it didn’t stick.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic?
I’ve written series alongside other authors as @stregaomega for example. And some others that are unpublished -looking at you @carsonnieve - I’ve also done collabs… but fics co-written in the sense of two authors same chapters I don’t have anything posted I’m afraid :P
13. All-time favourite ship?
*snorts*, I guess the obvious answer is SQ uh? And I do think they were the ones that allowed me to read and write SO much. The one I feel more strongly about, however, is Bering and Wells from Warehouse 13.
14. WIP you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?
All of them counts as a valid answer? But if I only could finish one that would be Arcadia. With A forgotten Promise second and the one I did as an Assassins Creed AU third. (I don’t remember the name so there’s no link, sorry xd)
15. Writing strengths?
Uhhhh, you REALLY want me to say that? I don’t fucking know!! To me everything I write is garbage. I always try to go for the feelings so I guess. Dunno xd I’ve been told I’m good at worldbuilding and to be honest is what I enjoy the most.
16. Writing weaknesses?
Everything Xd Pacing? What I hate the most sometimes is dialogue, I would count it as a weakness but I’m always far too focused on description rather than dialogue. I don’t think it’s a bad thing per se but it’s something that I don’t do as much.
17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
I’m conflicted. Always. Majorly because I think that having bilingual characters in fanfiction is portrayed and expected in a way that I don’t feel it’s honest with how bilingual people -us- talk. So if I go by what I know I do I think it’s not what readers hope to see when it comes to that and if I go for how canonically is hoped to be found I don’t think it’s logical. But that’s me and my overthinking Xd If I have the option I like to do it.
18. First fandom you ever wrote for?
Belice! Or Bella/Alice. Worst first fic ever but oh, well, I’m always saying that :P
19. What’s your fav fic you’ve written so far?
Uhh… Don’t make me do this XD Agh, I don’t know. I’ve always been very vocal about Metallic Ink because I let myself enjoy the process of creating a magic system almost out of zero and that was fun. Despite hating some of the writing process and that I’d do it differently now I think I’m going to stick with that answer. Or anything that had any steampunk-based undertone. To be honest I like more thinking of concepts, I had one in where Emma was a thief and it involved the robbery of a ring that was Regina’s one way ticket to freedom I then later repurposed that I adored thinking about so let’s go with…. Yeah, I love having the option of changing things up a little and focus on how characters would fit in different aesthetics for this one Xd
Annnd… these are four pages, gods. I’m just going to tag @waknatious @carsonnieve @stregaomega here and see what they do- Enjoy the questionnaire ladies :P

several folks requested beacon era bees for a fic giveaway and i miss them so enjoy <3
_________
Dancing - Blake can’t remember the last time she enjoyed it.
She remembers going to functions with her parents when she was little and frolicking to her heart’s content before self-consciousness hardened into an opaque shell around her.
With the White Fang, there were plenty of other teenagers who were just as awkward and nervous as she was, but nights spent with them around bonfires always felt stolen and forbidden. Having fun meant wasting time that could be spent on the mission.
Seeing so many hunters-in-training taking the time to relax and forget their own insecurities reassures Blake now. She’s somewhere safe, relatively speaking, and she’s allowed to take a night off from trying to fix the world. She’s allowed to enjoy wearing a dress, and she’s allowed to enjoy yelling the wrong lyrics to songs along with her friends.
Yang was right to encourage this, she thinks. And the fog machine is actually pretty cool.
Considering how difficult it is to look anywhere else when Yang is in the room, Blake’s seen surprisingly little of her. Yang greeted her when she came in and then ran off, and Blake hasn’t spotted her since. It feels a little silly to want to thank someone for inviting her to a school-wide event, but she certainly isn’t going to thank Sun for stepping on her foot three separate times. Blake feels compelled to find her partner and say it anyway, and she’s confident the buzzing in her stomach won’t stop until she does.
Sun is trying to figure out how to re-knot his tie properly after tying it around his head and subsequently loosening it beyond salvation. Neptune is about as helpful as Blake would have guessed, and when Jaune gets involved, the whole thing is a lost cause.
Blake searches the room. It’s challenging enough to look anywhere else when Yang is in a room - but despite that, she’s surprisingly difficult to find.
It’s only when a giggling, stumbling couple clears out of the balcony that Blake sees her. She’s watching from one story up, her elbows propped on the railing and her chin resting on tight fists. There’s a wistful look on her face, and Blake might not have recognized it if she hadn’t seen it before.
She remembers watching Yang drag a piece of chalk across a blackboard, that same expression following as she looks at the floor. Sometimes Yang is loudest when she says nothing at all. When a teacher asks if her semblance causes her pain and she doesn’t say no. When someone mentions their mother at lunch and Yang doesn’t have a quip ready in reply. When someone asks if she’s interested in anyone and she says nothing at all.
Blake thinks she’s started to understand what those silences mean. Right now, Yang is unmistakably lonely.
It’s written in that cloudy, content smile. A quiet yearning with no particular velocity, like a single firefly hovering still over a field in the middle of the night. Look directly at it and it disappears.
Most people are born alone, but nobody is born lonely. That kind of thing has to be learned, practiced, perpetuated. Eventually, when solitude is a choice, it’s a comfort. Blake understands, though it’s not something she ever thought she’d have in common with the most extraverted girl in the whole school.
Maybe it’s foolish to hope that Yang will feel Blake’s eyes on her and turn her head, but Blake hopes anyway. She doesn’t remember when she started wishing so recklessly. The thrill it brings is something she’s only ever mined from the pages of her favorite novels, usually in the moments before an almost-kiss or a bracing confession. So she wishes, and she hopes, and she watches.
Yang keeps her eyes on the crowd, scanning with a soft focus that says she isn’t searching for anything. She glances toward the corner where the fog machine is. Weiss has made plenty of vague threats about the machine breaking under mysterious and unprovable circumstances, so it’s probably smart to keep an eye on it. But that can’t be the sole reason Yang has sequestered herself on the balcony.
Blake drifts off, leaving Sun, Neptune, and Jaune to their contained chaos. Pyrrha will probably intervene before anything gets broken.
At the bottom of the stairs, Blake bumps into the couple from the balcony, but they’re too wrapped up in each other to notice. As they whirl towards the dance floor, already laughing and twirling in each other’s arms, Blake looks over her shoulder, and she suspects her expression matches the one she just saw Yang wearing.
A few other people are up on the balcony, including Ruby, who’s so sick of her shoes that she’s put her bare feet up on a table. Blake passes by and raises an eyebrow at Weiss, who’s in the middle of an impermeable tirade about how revolting and utterly inappropriate it is to take off one’s shoes in public. Ruby simply leans back in a chair precariously, hands behind her head, eyes closed. Sooner or later she’ll lose her balance and fall over, but Weiss is right there to catch her, bare feet and all. That’s what good partners do, isn’t it? Catch each other, no matter what.
Yang finally looks away from the dance floor when Blake is just passing Ruby’s table.
“Blake!” she calls. Her distant, foggy smile has brightened into a wide grin, and Blake feels like she’s just reached the bottom of a page.
“It's pretty exciting up here,” Blake replies. “I think I just heard Weiss mention foot sweat.”
“Gross,” Yang laughs.
Blake slides up next to her and grips the railing. “I think it hurt her to say it more than it hurt me to hear it.”
“Definitely.”
Yang looks back down at the party, and Blake hears the beat of silence that follows.
Blake pokes Yang’s shoulder. “So, are you having fun up here all by yourself?”
“I’m not by myself. Ruby and Weiss are--”
“Arguing about foot sweat.”
“And I’m having a great time watching.”
“Uh-huh.”
Yang turns to face her fully, and Blake is struck once again by how beautiful she is. The dress is cute, but it’s the attitude, the smirk, the pop of her hip.
“You got something to say, Miss Belladonna?” Yang teases.
“I came up here to say thank you, actually.” Blake rocks away from the railing, hiding her hands behind her back. “But I’m a little confused. You went on and on how much fun this dance was going to be, but you’ve barely done any dancing yourself.”
Yang mirrors her but leans one elbow on the railing. “Sounds like you’ve been keeping tabs on me.”
It’s like their own little unconventional waltz. One leads, the other follows, alternate, repeat. Is it too soon for Blake to know that she would follow her partner anywhere? Is it wishful thinking for her to believe Yang would do the same?
Blake could say something, or she could let her sly silence do the talking.
Yang holds her gaze for a moment, then another, before looking over the railing.
When Yang looks back again, her lip curls shyly, and Blake’s pretty sure she’s not thinking about the fog machine anymore.
“I’m glad you came,” Yang says.
Blake wants to kiss her again, pick up where the left off in their dorm room. First kisses are supposed to be messy, and Blake wouldn’t trade it for anything, but she feels the need to thank Yang for this night in as many ways as possible, with and without words. After all, Yang hears her no matter what.
But they’re in public, and Blake isn’t sure if Yang would be comfortable with that. For all the attention she commands, Yang doesn’t make a point of sharing personal details with... anyone, really, now that Blake thinks about it. Not on purpose.
Blake remembers when she accidentally saw Yang’s bullet-bruised skin after a heavy fight, and she knows that the rest of their team doesn’t know about it.
When one of their friends needs to talk, Yang is happy to listen. Yet she never brings up anything more serious than a bad homework grade herself. She overwrites her own silences with easy jokes and disguised deflections. If Weiss and Ruby are around, she’s wary. Maybe she doesn’t want her sister to worry.
Blake knows what it’s like to keep the truth from people and think that you’re protecting them.
“Yang?” she asks.
“Hm?”
“You are having fun, right?”
Yang shifts. “Of course. Aren’t you?”
“Mostly.”
That catches Yang’s attention, and suddenly this is a very serious matter to her. “What’s wrong? Did someone spike the punch?”
“You wish.”
“Did someone not spike the punch enough?”
“No...”
“Because I can fix that.”
“Nothing needs fixing,” Blake says. She reaches for Yang’s hand and squeezes, hoping it’s convincing. “Tonight is pretty much perfect.”
Yang frowns. “Pretty much?”
“Well, I’ve barely seen the person who asked me to come to this thing in the first place.” Blake steps closer, and she sees Yang’s breath catch in her chest.
Yang covers it with a light and fleeting laugh. “Yeah, I could have guessed Sun wouldn’t be the most attentive date on the planet.”
Blake almost rolls her eyes because that one is way too easy to see through, but she’d rather watch the blush flare under Yang’s freckles. “I wasn’t talking about Sun.”
“Oh.”
Yang doesn’t move, and she doesn’t say anything more, and Blake isn’t sure what to do. Whatever Yang’s silence is trying to say is drowned out by Blake’s deafening need to kiss her, and it certainly isn’t helping that Yang is still holding her hand.
“Blake...” Yang says the name like she’s starting something, and it’s infinitely more exciting than turning a page.
In invitation, Blake nods her head towards the stairs and tugs just slightly on Yang’s hand. “You promised me a dance.”
“I guess I did,” Yang laughs.
She looks down at their hands like she’s double-checking a lock, and Blake hopes she never gets better at hiding it when she’s nervous.
Maybe she’ll get to kiss Yang later, when they’re walking back to their dorm at midnight after staying late to help clean up. Blake’s legs will be pleasantly exhausted from jumping around all night, and Yang will pull her jacket out of nowhere and drape it around Blake’s shoulders. Blake will pause to shiver and pull the coat tighter, and momentum will carry Yang half a step in front. She’ll turn around to see why Blake stopped following, look up at the shattered moon, and then find Blake’s eyes watching her, waiting. It will take a moment, perhaps two, for Yang to gather her courage, and then Blake won’t feel the cold at all.
It’s a scene right out of one of Blake’s books - but it doesn’t even compare to the way Yang looks at her when they reach the bottom of the stairs, all light and admiration. Blake can’t help but think of the couple she ran into earlier, and she allows herself to make one wish.
She hopes they stay like this always, side by side, braced to spin and fall and catch each other.
Blake certainly isn’t going anywhere.

Parsley, sobbing hysterically on a bench outside of Beacon's Headmistress's office, surrounded by Team RWBY trying to calm her down, unable to even form coherent words: I-I I did-Not...I-
Weiss, frantic concern in her eyes, a look matching on all of RWBY, desperately trying to coerce some semblance of sense out of Parsley: Sweetheart, baby, Parsley please, please honey you need to breathe and slow down, we can't understand you.
Yang, gripping onto Parsley's hand: C'mon kiddo, you're safe, you're okay. We're all here, nothing can get you.
Glynda, throwing open the doors to her office, speaking quickly: Team RWBY. Please, all of you, come with me this instant.
Blake, stepping forward reluctantly, looking back: We can't...we can't just leave her...
Jakob, speaking up from beside them all: Don't worry.
Sapphire, nodding, standing next to Jakob, gripping his hand: We'll take care of Parsley.
Ruby, ushering the rest of RWBY to Glynda, nodding at Jakob and Sapphire: Thank you, both of you.
Ruby, stepping over to Parsley, who's still in hysterics, taking hold of her cheeks and placing a kiss on her forehead: You're going to be okay Parsley, whatever happened. You'll be okay.
Glynda, waiting for all of RWBY to enter the Headmistress's office before closing the doors, taking the long and silent walk to the desk before speaking: I'm sorry to have called you all here on such short notice but we've had...a problem, as you could see.
Yang, through gritted teeth: What the fuck happened to my baby.
Glynda, sitting down into her chair, folding her hands over her desk: Your "baby" put a student one year her senior into the infirmary.
Blake, a bit confused: She's...done that before? We all have, you've even seen it. Why is she here then? Every time Parsley has ever done that during a sparring match she practically waits on the poor sap until they recover.
Glynda, narrowing her eyes: Yes, that's the thing. This wasn't during a match. It was an unsupervised and impromptu battle in a random hall during the day. Honestly calling it a battle is a bit too kind, seeing as how one-sided it was.
Ruby, narrowing her eyes: "One-sided?"
Glynda, clearing her throat: The other student, Reginald Fyre. Goes by "Wolf" in his circles.
Blake, through a growl: That bastard has been harassing Parsley for years!
Glynda, her eyes shooting to Blake, speaking loud and sternly: That "bastard" is another student of Beacon! And is now in the infirmary with three broken ribs, a shattered humerus, and a punctured LUNG.
Weiss, taking a step back, pure shock and terror in her eyes: N-No, no no Parsley would never. She couldn't! She couldn't bring herself that far!
Glynda, tapping a screen built into the desk, causing a holographic image of an empty hallway to appear, hitting play as she speaks: Watch for yourself.
Yang, intently glaring at the holographic video, showing Parsley walking with Jakob and Sapphire from the bottom of the screen towards the top, Reginald walking alone from the top towards the bottom, gritting her teeth as the boy gives a cocky smile and he speaks silently: No audio?
Glynda, curt: Unnecessary. Shut up and watch.
Blake, watching as Parsley and company move forward, completely ignoring Reginald, who moves quickly enough to get a brutal sucker punch into Parsley's stomach as she walks by, causing her to drop to her knees and spit blood to the ground, Blake and the rest instinctively lunging forward at the sight of this: HE HIT HER FIRST!
Glynda, pausing the video, speaking with a snarl: And that's the only reason she might get off slightly easy with a call of self defense! Just watch!
Weiss, continuing to watch the video in horror as Parsley slowly stands to her feet besides a laughing Reginald, her shoulders heaving with heavy breaths, something unseen in the video causing Jakob and Sapphire to back away in fear as all of a sudden a bright aura of energy explodes around Parsley, strong enough to cause the camera to static out for a split second, when coming back into focus Parsley has Reginald slammed into the ground by his throat, the floor around him cracked and dented inward, reddish-orange sparks scattering around his body: His...his aura broke from a single strike...
Yang, her eyes widening, closed fists trembling as Parsley raises her hand from the boy's throat and smashes it down into his chest, causing his face to contort in pain and projectile vomit blood: No...no it can't be...
Blake, her hand covering her mouth, tears welling up in her eyes as Parsley stands upright and lifts up a leg, despite the boy's desperate pleas and begging, drops it down heavy onto his upper arm, causing him to scream out in agony yet again: Yang it's...that's...that's your semblance...
Glynda, stopping the video as Jakob and Sapphire rush into frame, along with dozens of other people towards Parsley: She was grabbed hold of by her two friends, and the boy is being seen to right this moment by Jaune. If no one had finally stopped her, she would've-
Yang, slamming her fist to the desk, Glynda turning to her entirely unperturbed: SHUT UP! SHE WOULD NEVER!
Ruby, placing a hand on her sister's shoulder: Yang. Please.
Glynda, remaining silent as Yang removes her fist from the now shattered screen of the desk, after a moment: Anyways...I'm sorry, but your daughter's case does not look good. I'm more likely than not going to have to expel her. I'm sorry.
Blake, gasping: What?! No! That will destroy her! Being a Huntress is her dream! First the thing that happened with Alder, then this? She'll be all but dead!
Weiss, absolutely dumbfounded at what's been presented to her: S-S-Surely there must be something you can do? Glynda, please!
Glynda, snapping back: Having the worst of her punishment be expulsion IS the best I can do!
Glynda, taking a breath and calming down, settling back into her seat: I'm sorry. But she nearly beat this poor boy to death, years of harassment or no, there's nothing I can do. I cannot play favorites in this situation, I must put Beacon first. I'm-...
Glynda, putting her fingers to her lips in order to stop them from quivering: I'm...I'm truly sorry. But there's nothing I can do for Parsley now. You should all consider yourselves lucky she's not going to a prison, or worse, an international exile.
Ruby, steeling herself, wiping a tear from her eye: There's...there's really nothing then, nothing we can do.
Yang, spinning to face Ruby, snarling: YOU'RE JUST GIVING UP!?
Ruby, glaring Yang right in the eyes: What do you want me to do, Yang? Fight this? If the public hears that we pulled strings to keep Parsley in Beacon after this little incident is revealed, Beacon will lose everything it's been building back up to be.
Blake, stammering: W-What if we just, just cover up the story?
Ruby, speaking as though her throat was filled with shattered glass, pain visible behind the facade of strength in her silver eyes: And then what? Hide it forever? We all know that would never work. It would get out eventually, and then Beacon and RWBY will be known as cheats and liars. We have to just accept this. Glynda's right.
Yang, storming up right to Ruby, jamming a finger to her chest: YOU WANT THE WORLD TO SEE MY BABY AS A MONSTER JUST SO SOME DAMN ACADEMY CAN STAY IN POWER?
Weiss, putting out a shaking hand, not even reaching Yang: Y-Yang, please...don't do this.
Ruby, unflinching to Yang, their eyes locked: She's not just your baby, Yang.
Yang, her anger losing power with each word as she slowly falls down to her knees, beginning to cry into her hands: I-...I-...I know...I know, I know...I know...
Weiss, crouching down to wrap her arms around Yang, looking up to Ruby with tears in her own eyes: Then what are we going to do?
Ruby, taking a deep breath, then turning to stare at the replaying video on the cracked screen of the desk: I...I don't know. I wish I did.

Monos headcanons? I got some...
and here they are!
Who is the most affectionate? - Weiss. I feel like Blake’s past has jaded her when it comes to openly displaying affection. And Weiss is honestly just out there hugging everyone already anyways.
Big spoon/Little spoon? - Blake is always big spoon. Unless Blake is sick or feeling down, then Weiss gets to be big spoon.
Most common argument? - The way things are organized around the house. Blake likes things on the right side, Weiss likes them on the left. Blake constantly moves things to make them easily usable for right-handedness and Weiss will get mad and move them back to the left side.
Favorite non-sexual activity? - Reading. Just sitting in bed, or on the couch together, reading in comfortable silence.
Who is most likely to carry the other? - Blake would carry Weiss. I feel like Weiss is strong enough to carry Blake, but she’s just too small. She would have to drag Blake like a wet noodle.
What is their favorite feature of their partner's? - Blake probably gets caught, by Weiss, looking at Weiss’ legs way too often. Shameless. And I think it would either be Blake’s Faunus ears (if we are staying 100% within the RWBYverse) or her eyes.
What's the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other? - Weiss would start freezing up and acting weird. Blake would just get clumsy and super self aware around Weiss. Like tripping over her own feet, or just plain getting caught staring.
Nicknames? & if so, how did they originate? - I don’t think Weiss has a nickname for Blake, but Blake will definitely call Weiss “princess” just to agitate her. And it would come from her just being a Schnee.
Who worries the most? - Blake worries more on a low key level, internalized anxiety. Weiss is very obvious and a clearly distressed worrier.
Who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant? - Blake always remembers what food Weiss likes to order. But Weiss always remembers dessert.
Who tops? - Blake…. most of the time.
Who initiates kisses? - Depending on the circumstance, they would both initiate.
Who reaches for the other's hand first? - Blake is definitely a hand holder and Weiss is an elbow linker. Weiss would rather hold onto the upper part of Blake’s arm so that she can stand as close to her as possible.
Who kisses the hardest? - Weiss is more assertive, so I’ll say Weiss.
Who wakes up first? - Normally, Weiss. But if she has somewhere to be at a certain time, Blake can totally get up early. But she isn’t going out of her way to get up early on her day off.
Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer? - On the weekend, Weiss. Any other day, Blake.
Who says I love you first? - Weiss, and matter of factly so. But Blake would know that she loved Weiss for quite a while before she actually told her.
Who leaves little notes in the other’s one lunch? (Bonus: what does it usually say?) - Blake would leave notes, simply because Weiss can’t pack a lunch. The notes would probably say things like “I don’t know why I packed this lunch, I know you’re going to forget it on the counter. But I love you anyways.”
Who tells their family/friends about their relationship first? - Blake would tell her parents first, but let’s be real, Winter would just.. know. And of course Ruby and Yang would most likely be the first ones to know, whether or not anyone tells.
What do their family/friends think of their relationship? - Their friends love them and support them 100%. Their families have concerns at first about the whole Belladonna/Schnee stuff, but almost everyone warms up to it once they realize that the girls are happy.
Who is more likely to start dancing with the other? - Weiss would take charge in a public setting. Like at a public event with structured dancing. But for fun and just goofing off at home? Blake.
Who cooks more/who is better at cooking? - Weiss was allowed to cook once. There was a fire and an insurance claim was filed.
Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines? - Weiss. And she learned them from Yang. And Blake only laughs because they are terribly not funny.
Who whispers inappropriate things in the other's ear during inappropriate times? - Blake, and it’s usually some sarcastic or snarky comment. She does it to make Weiss laugh and it usually works. But Weiss has been known to make the occasional suggestive comment to Blake every now and then.
Who needs more assurance? - Blake.
What would be their theme song? - Songs About Girls by Loote.
Who would sing to their child back to sleep? - Weiss. We all know she can sing. Voice of an angel, etc.
What do they do when they're away from each other? - I feel like Weiss would be the constant texter. Blake would just pine for and miss Weiss.
one headcanon about this OTP that breaks your heart. - That they both come from such broken places and it’s made it all the more difficult for them to feel loved and valuable.
one headcanon about this OTP that mends it. - They learn to love and value each other and it’s what helps them discover it in themselves.

Fun, Family, and Fishing
Fair Game Week 2020: Day 3 - Family / Weapons
Read it on AO3 here.
After months of planning, they were finally going on their camping trip, and boy did it take planning. It was a hard time to find a time where five adults were all free for a vacation. Eventually, they all decided to embark on their trip during the summer when Tai was free from his teaching job, and when fishing was in season. Qrow, Clover, Summer, and Raven just decided to use their sick days to get the time off. At first, it was just going to be them and Ruby and Yang, but then they begged their parents to let their friends Weiss and Blake tag along. They gave in quickly. They knew they could handle two more kids, and quickly met with the other kid’s parents to get the okay from them. To all the kids’ delight, they agreed. But then, all four of them ganged up on the adults to convince them to let their other friends, Jaune, Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren, join in on the trip. The kids were around so much they practically were family, but eight kids seemed like too much, so at first, they said no. Then they saw the children’s puppy eyes. Then they fell for the puppy eyes and pleas. Then they went to get permission from all the kids’ guardians. And then they modified their plans to include eight kids instead of four kids, which had first only planned for two kids. It was hectic, to say the least, but it all worked out. They ended up renting two RVs and getting more supplies than they could carry. After a day of driving and trying to keep middle school kids entertained, they reached their reserved campsite nightfall, exhausted and tired. They decided to begin their activities the next day. Tai and Clover were the first to wake, used to an early schedule.
“Morning Tai.”
“Morning Clover.” They both began unloading the supplies for breakfast, though most of the cooking would be done by Tai. Clover wasn’t allowed to cook after the time he burned soup, which no one ever let him forget. The only thing he could cook well was fish.
“So, how was your night?”
“Pretty good, all things considered. Team JNPR fell asleep pretty quickly, and Qrow too. He is pretty good with kids after all.”
“Team JNPR?” Tai questioned.
“It’s what Qrow calls Jaune, Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren’s group.” Clover clarified. “He calls the girls Team RWBY.”
“Hmm, I’m gonna steal that from him. If anyone asks, I thought of it on my own.”
“My lips are sealed.” Clover said as he motioned his lips shut.
“Anyways, my night was terrible. Try falling asleep while teenage girls giggle until midnight, AND, while Raven snores. I don’t know how Summer even fell asleep in the first place.”
“Damn. Well, at least we’ll have tents to sleep in tonight while the kids sleep in the RV.”
“Yeah, but I can only imagine what that’s going to do to my back.”
“Oh Tai, you say that like we're old men. We’re only barely fourty.” Clover shook his head at the silly notion.
“I do crossword puzzles on my lunch breaks and you collect vintage fishing tackles.” He deadpanned, looking Clover straight into his eyes. Clover opened his mouth to refute the statement, but realized Tai was right.
“Okay. I see your point.” Clover conceded. There was also the fact that he was starting to gray on his sides. He liked how it looked though, and so did Qrow, whose hair was already colored salt and pepper. As Tai started breakfast, Clover took out the tent equipment. The next to awake were Ren, Nora, and Qrow.
“Good morning Uncle Clover and Mr. Xiao-Long.” Nora greeted cheerfully. She and the other kids had started calling Qrow Uncle Qrow in elementary school when they started hanging out with Ruby and Yang and their cool uncle. He didn’t particularly like it at first, but soon grew accustomed to it. And when he married Clover, it was only natural that they would call Clover Uncle Clover. Needless to say, Clover felt honored and readily accepted the title, especially since he was an only child and therefore couldn’t have nieces or nephews. Ren, still waking up, had also given a respectful “Good morning as well.”
“Morning, and please tell me someone made coffee.” Qrow asked, his drowsiness evident. The drowsiness certainly wasn’t going to stop him from giving his husband a good morning kiss on the cheek though.
“Lucky for you, Tai did. I’ll get you some.” Clover went and poured him a cup of pure black coffee.
“Thanks Cloves.” He said as he eyed the cup as if it held the secrets of life. Graciously, he took a sip. “Ahh, that's the stuff.” He smiled as he began to feel the drowsiness fade away.
“Uncle Clover! Can I have some?” Nora asked with bright eyed innocence.
“Uhh,” he responded at first. He didn’t really know if he should give her any, but got his answer from Ren who seemed wide awake now. Behind her, he mouthed “no” and fearfully shook his head.  “No.”
“Aww, why not?” she asked, deflated.
“Because …” she stared at him as he tried to think of a reason.
“It’ll stunt your growth. You want to grow big and strong like your uncles, don’t you? Of course you do.” He quickly said before she could answer. “Here, have some juice.” He tossed her a box of some juice, which she caught.
“Thanks Uncle Qrow!”
“No problem kiddo.” She then moved over to Tai to see what he was cooking. Clover let out a sigh of relief.
“Thanks you two.”
“No need to thank us. We just don’t want Nora to run off in the wilderness and come back with a bear slung over her back.” Qrow told his husband as he took another sip.
“If you think she’s hyper now, you should have seen what happened in fifth grade when she drank an energy drink.” Ren, nursing a box of juice as well, said as he looked into the distance as if reliving a war memory.
“I’m pretty sure it left poor old Tai traumatized. But hey, he’s still an elementary school teacher, so it obviously wasn’t that bad.”
“I do not envy Tai’s work.” Clover replied as he sat down next to Qrow to take a break from unpacking. Next to wake up was Raven and Summer.
“Good morning. my wonderful wives.” Tai greeted them each with a kiss as he held a pan of cooking food.
“Too. Energetic.” Summer was obviously not a morning person “Need. Coffee.” She still had her eyes closed Raven guided her to a seat. She poured herself and her wife a cup.
“Morning Raven. You look great.” Qrow teased. She had a serious case of bedhead, which Qrow could not help but make fun of.
“I will throw you into the river, and I will laugh when your eyeliner gets ruined, little brother.” She glared at him as she took a long sip.
“Jokes on you, I didn't bring any.” He laughed at her, as she could only scowl at him. “Besides, I’d just have my knight in shining armor rescue me.” He gave Clover another kiss, which caused him to blush.
“Aww, look at that. Qrow and Clover sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.” teased Summer, who had turned back to her usual self thanks to the coffee. Now Qrow and Clover were both blushing.
“Ha! Look at them! Nice one!” Raven exclaimed as she high fived her wife. Before anymore could be said or done, Tai announced that breakfast was done, and asked them to wake the rest of the kids.
“This isn’t over, Summer.” Clover mocked as he motioned that he would be keeping his eyes on her, his cheeks still flushed.
“Oh, I know.” she said as she smiled, excited for the antics that would follow, and went to wake up Team RWBY. While Clover went to wake up Jaune and Pyrrah, Raven and Qrow only glared at each other, occasionally taking a sip of their coffee.
With all the kids now up, the real party would begin. After eating and mingling with one another, they changed into their outfits for the main event of the day: a fishing contest. Tai had decided that he would stay behind to watch the stuff. Ren, Nora, Ruby, and Weiss had decided to stay with him, since Nora and Weiss didn’t like getting wet, and Ren and Ruby didn't want to leave their best friend behind. When Tai told them they could help with the tents, Ruby screamed “Yay! Child labor!” which had caused all the adults to laugh, except for Tai, who looked sad and tired already.
The last ones to change into their fishing outfits were Qrow and Clover. Everyone expected him to look the most prepared because the man had been fishing most of his life, and he did look the most prepared. A fishing vest, with his signature pin tacked on, cargo shorts, and shoes with good grip were all immaculate, despite years of use, save for the shoes that were recently bought. He looked like he was about to enter a fishing contest, save for one particular part of his clothing: his hat. It was a gift from his fathers on his twentieth birthday, much like his prized fishing pole that he lovingly monikered after his favorite bird, “aside from Qrow” he would often clarify, the Kingfisher. Naturally he carried the fishing pole and wore the hat with pride. What made the hat so unaligned with his outfit was the fact that it said “Men want me Fish fear me” on it. Stepping out of the RV with Qrow, Clover saw Raven do a double take. Once she was able to make out the words on the hat, she began to die of laughter, which caused Summer to turn to look at what had made her wife laugh so hard. As a result, she began to laugh as well, calling her husband over in between laughs. Soon, he was dying of laughter as well. Qrow took in a deep breath and exhaled.
“You’re lucky I love you.”
“I know, and it’s all thanks to my good luck charm.” Clover sing-songed as he kissed Qrow on the cheek. He tried to hide a smile, but failed miserably. “Come on Qrow, let's go win our fishing contest.” Raven And Summer began to laugh even harder.
“You hear that Rav! They think- They think they’re gonna win!” They continued laughing.
“Laugh all you want now, we’ll see if you’ll be laughing later when you’re eating the fish we caught.” Clover taunted.
“I hope you like the taste of defeat, ladies.” Qrow said cooly, as if he and Clover already won.
“I’m sure they will. Now, let's get going. It’s already noon.” With that, Clover led the way to the river, Qrow by his side, the kids in tow playing around, and Summer and Raven behind the kids, recovering from their laughing fit. Soon, they arrived at a place where the deep river forked, one path remaining deep, the other turning shallow. As the kids played in the shallow area, the adults set up their fishing rods and chairs, one of them periodically going to the nearby shallow area to check in on the kids.
“All set!” exclaimed, the first to finish setting up. He stood back and admired his handiwork, everything neat and orderly. With that, he cast out his line, and waited. Next to finish setting up was Qrow, but only because he had Clover help him. Immediately after was Summer. While she wasn’t nowhere as talented in fishing as Clover, she was still a force to be reckoned with. Lastly was Raven, who was decent at fishing with a pole. And so, they waited, chatting about current events, their jobs, and the kids.
“So thats where Ruby learned about child labor, huh?” asked Qrow.
“Yup.” Confirmed Summer. “Speaking of Ruby, she recently asked when she’s going to have some cousins, and frankly, I wanna know too.” The two men began stumbling over each other’s words, explaining that they talked about it here and there, but never really seriously.
“Now’s as good a time as any.” Raven spoke. “You’re both about middle aged, have stable jobs with a good retirement plan, and you have us to help you out if you ever need it. After this trip, think about it maybe.”
“Wow Raven, that’s ... actually some good advice. Thanks.”
“You’re welcome, Clover. I dragged it out from the kindness I keep in my heart.” Raven joked, putting a hand over her heart.
“You have a heart? I wouldn’t have ever known.” said a smug Qrow.
“Fine then, fuck you. I just wanted to have another person to tell all the embarrassing stories I have about you.” She angrily, almost comically, cast a line back into the water.
“Hey, watch you’re fucking language, there’s kids nearby.” Clover reprimanded, pretending to be serious. They all just laughed. The loud children were too far away to be able to discern their words.
“Eh, but seriously, thanks Rae, we’ll think about it.”
“If it helps, just know that I would make a great auntie.”
“I’m sure you would, Summer.” Qrow replied, mostly focusing on the fishing rod.
“You know, there is one thing we talked about.” Clover teased, immediately grabbing the attention of the two women.
“Oh, yeah! Names. We were thinking either Basil, or Bluebird.”
“Those are nice.” Raven replied.
“They are. I get Bluebird,” Summer stated, “but how did you decide on Basil?”
“Like my namesake, it’s another plant that can bring good luck.” Clover clarified.
“Ahh, I see. Oh! Clover! Look!”  Summer shouted. His pole had hooked onto something, and after a bit of fighting, Clover reeled in a decently sized fish.
“Think you could top this?” Clover asked Qrow specifically, with a wink and a smirk on his face as he put the fish in a bucket of water.
“I mean, I have before.” He replied, unphased. It took a moment for the women to catch on to what he said. Once they realized, they made sounds of disgust and made sure it was known.
“Ugh! Gods have mercy on me!” Summer screeched in desperation, covering her ears.
“I wouldn’t waste my breath if I were you. Trust me, I know. You know how many times they didn't show me any mercy in college.” Qrow shuddered at the memories of him accidentally walking in on Raven, Summer, and Tai. They resumed their normal conversations and soon slipped into comfortable silence, each of them catching a fish now and then, except for Qrow. By the time lunch rolled around and the kids had eaten and resumed their playing, Qrow had still caught nothing. Currently in the lead was Raven, though Clover had wondered why the fish weren’t as big as they usually were. He just chalked it up to luck.
“Fuck it.” Qrow said. He rolled up his pants and waded into the river. Clover watched in curiosity as his husband stood still with laser focus in knee deep water. Soon, his curiosity was replaced with awe as the man shot into the water and resurfaced with a fish that put him in the lead. Clover wouldn’t have said it out loud, but seeing Qrow glistening in the river with a big fish in his hands was kind of hot.
“Qrow where the hell did you learn that!? That was amazing!” After Qrow placed his catch in his bucket, he was met with a kiss on the lips.
“Looks like I better catch more fish if this is my reward, huh?” Qrow asked, knowing the answer to his question. Clover whispered his answer into Qrow’s ear. Apparently, he did not know the answer. His face got visibly redder, and he quickly went back into the river.
“Don’t think about it, don't think about it, don't think about it.” Summer repeated to herself.
“I think I know how to help with that.” Raven walked over to Summer, gave her a kiss, then walked into the water. Needless to say, it worked. Soon, after Clover and Summer caught another fish, too small to dethrone Qrow, Raven striked, and reemerged with two fish in hand, one big enough to take the lead. “We learned lots of things back when we were a part of that traveling tribe. Some of us learned better than others.” Suavely, she tossed the smaller fish back into the water and replaced the fish in her bucket with the bigger one as Summer cheered her on.
Sibling rivalry mode was in full swing among the pair. Mostly in silence, they continued their contest. Qrow managed to catch a bigger one, but was dethroned by Clover, which he didn't mind. Meanwhile, poor Summer remained in last place. She was starting to lose hope, until something that seemed particularly big got hooked onto her pole. By then, Raven and Summer had left the water and had packed up most of the stuff. She fought with it, slowly but surely making progress. However, as she was fighting the fish standing up, she slipped, sending her into the center of the river, where it was deepest. Summer had lost her rod, but had fortunately felt someone tug her back to the surface. As she broke the surface, she gasped for air.
“Oh Raven, my love, you saved me. That’s what a real knight in shining armor is like Qrow!” Her eyes still closed and cradled in a set of arms, she moved to give her savior a kiss, but felt something that something was off, and stopped. “Wait a minute…” she reached for the chest area and gave a light squeeze. They were thick,  nowhere as  plump as Raven’s, but thicker than Qrow’s. She knew that it could only mean one thing. She rubbed her eyes and opened them to face Clover.
“A real knight in shining armor huh?” he asked smugly. She gave a small scream and squirmed about, falling back into the water.
“None of you saw or heard any of that!” she yelled, pointing a finger at all of them. Her heart dropped when she saw Qrow on shore, holding his phone, the camera light on. “Oh gods no.”
“I did say it wasn’t over, remember? This’ll make for a great video to show everyone.”
“You monster!” she yelled as she pretended to try to drown the man, though that would be difficult, considering he practically grew up in water. Meanwhile, Clover was laughing and Qrow was laughing as he ran from Raven who was trying to steal his phone so she could protect her wife’s honor by deleting the video. However, their antics were interrupted.
“Mom! Uncle Qrow! Look what Blake caught!” Yang shouted from down the river. In the distance, they could make out what looked to be a large fish.
“Holy fuck...” Qrow stated in awe.
“Don’t tell me...” said Raven, also awestruck. “Hey!” she shouted at Clover and Summer. “Meet us down the river with the kids. You’ll want to see this!”
“Oh boy...” Clover knew that with this family, it was bound to be something interesting, to say the least. He and Summer swam over, seeing the figure Blake had dragged in becoming clearer and clearer. They could also see Raven checking Blake to make sure she was alright as Qrow untangled the line from the caught fish.
“No. Way. “They both said in unison. Once they reached shallow enough water, They ran to confirm that Blake was alright, and that she had indeed caught the fish that threw Summer into the water. Blake’s shyness was evident as her friends showered her with praise.
“Blake! Where did you learn to do that!? That was amazing!” asked Yang, proud of her best friend.
“That, its nothing.” she shied away, pushing her wet hair out of her face and turning her head to hide a blush. “I’ve been doing it with my mom since I was young. Really, it’s nothing spectacular.”
“Hey, don’t sell yourself short kid, that thing’s half your size. That’s nothing to sneeze at.” said Qrow. He had had low self esteem for a long time, and wasn’t about to let any of the kids put themselves down.
“That is very incredible Blake, but try not to do that again without letting us know. We just don’t want anything bad to happen.” clover explained.
“Yes, of course, I’ll be sure to let one of you know next time.” she stated.
“You do know what this means, right Blake?” asked Summer.
“Uhh, no?”
“It means you won our fishing contests silly! You caught the biggest fish! You Win!” Blake was confused at first when she was picked up by Raven and placed on her shoulder.
“That also means you get to lead the victory parade, little champion.”
“Ooh, mom, pick me up too!” Yang exclaimed. She wasn’t going to refuse. She had seen how close the little champion and her daughter were getting. It brought her comfort to know her daughter would be with such a strong person. Once the equipment and dinner packed and ready for transport, they marched back to their campsite, the children shouting Blake’s name as she was carried in front.
“Damn, what are the Belladonnas feeding her?” Clover wondered.
“Pure protein, by the looks of it.” Summer replied.
“Well, at least she’s alright.” Qrow said.
“Yeah.” agreed Summer and Clover.
The sun was beginning to set by the time they returned. By then, they were all beginning to feel tired and hungry once more. Tai and Clover made sure to make the fish mouth watering delicious. The served the first piece to Blake, whose mouth was watering at the sight. While the kids ate and Yang retold the story of how her bff caught the beat, the adults chatted some more. After dinner, they all roasted marshmallows and told scary stories. If anyone had asked Clover if he had yelped and grabbed onto his husband’s arm when an ominous howl coincided with the climax of Tai’s scary story, he would say it didn’t happen. Everyone else would beg to differ, especially Qrow. As it got later, the fire died and the kids who wanted to sleep outside retired to a tent, while the kids who wanted to sleep inside retired to the RVs. While there was room for the adults in the RV, they wanted to appreciate the cool air and beautiful night sky.
“Hey, Clover?”
“Yes, my Lucky Charm?”
“It’s been a nice day with you, and them.” Clover hummed in agreement.
“It has. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.” They laid together in comfortable silence for a moment more, taking in the starry sky through their clear-topped tent.
“Beautiful view, isn’t it?” Qrow asked. Clover turned to face him. His deep crimson eyes shone a unique brilliance that was incomparable to anything else. Qrow had just looked so serene in the light of the moon and stars and the darkness of the night. Clover found himself enamored.
“Most beautiful sight in the world, if I must say.”
“Clover, I swear, if you’re─” he stopped mid sentence as he turned his head to see Clover staring right at him, obviously caught up in admiring his dark-haired husband. Qrow softly smiled back. Together, they silently admired each other.
“You know, I do think of you and your family as the best thing to ever happen to me. Never had a big family, and I’m pretty much all I have from my side of the family now. I guess I just appreciate you and your family a lot.”
“Our family, Lucky Charm.”
“Hmm?” Clover said, surprised.
“Our family. You’re as much a part of it as anyone else here, and we all love you just the same too.” Bewildered. Clover couldn’t think of a response. He was so used to the loneliness that he hadn’t really considered he could be a part of a family again. He moved closer to hug Qrow, who readily accepted him. He buried his head into the crook of his shoulders. And Clover wasn’t going to lie. He was crying a little. However, Qrow’s scent helped comfort him, as well as Qrow stroking his hair and the knowledge that he had a family.
“I love you Qrow.” Clover’s voice came out a tad strained, though it was almost undetectable.
“I love you too Clover.” With Qrow humming a song, Clover fell into a peaceful sleep. Soon after, Qrow fell asleep to the calm rise and fall of his husband’s chest. In this sleep, Clover had a dream, though he only remembered an image from it. Tai, Summer, and Raven were in it, as well as all the kids, albeit slightly older. Qrow was standing right beside him, their hands intertwined. In between them were two children who he could not discern. Yet, he felt happy, he felt like he was where he belonged, he felt love.

Whiterose fluff prompt 1: Atlas Cuddles
Here’s the fluff piece for the first prompt I got it kinda winds around and does a little more then just fluff but I had fun writing it and I think it’s cute.
“ARRGGGGHMMPPFFF”
“going that well is it?” Ruby laughed at her partner.
“Ssshhh no more talking” Weiss replied grumpily barely raising her head off the bed she had just flopped onto. Her legs hung off the end, her hands were thrown up above her head and she laid face down as Ruby crossed the room to sit next to her.
“Ok” Ruby answered simply, comfortingly tracing a small circle on Weiss’s back with the palm of her hand. This went on for a few moments before Weiss rolled over with a cheesy grin on her face. Her hair had become messy against the bed and her hands still laid above her head like she was on some strange sideways roller coaster.
“I love you” she said simply gazing up at Ruby. The whole scene was very un-Weiss like, but Ruby smiled back it was a side of Weiss even she saw only rarely, and she treasured it.
“I love you too!” she said and boop-ed Weiss on the nose with the hand which had been rubbing her back
“Dolt.” Weiss laughed back catching Ruby’s hand in her own and kissing it between giggles which caused Ruby to fall over in giggles of her own.
“That’s no fair you know that makes me laugh” Ruby said finding herself lying next to Weiss.
“That’s why I did it” Weiss answered with a smile leaning over to kiss Ruby, on the lips this time, then she did it a few more times not to mention a couple on the cheeks and neck just for good measure. They were short playful pecks and she stopped as they both descended into another bout of giggles. After the laughing stopped, they both lay next to each other smiling into each other’s eyes but slowly Weiss’s smile faded, and she sat up with a frustrated sigh. Ruby frowned, Weiss often came back from the sort of meetings she had been in today frustrated but this was clearly even worse then normal.
“Is there anything I can do to help?” Ruby asked concern creeping into her tone as she sat up next to Weiss “Can I get you a coffee, a snack, I dunno Myrtenaster and a few witnesses willing to lie and say it was self-defense” Weiss gave her a look which would have been a scowl if not for the smile creeping across her lips “What?!” Ruby continued “You don’t think I could do it? Me, Yang and Blake would say anything we needed to for you in fact Blake might know a few umm old associates who would say anything if it caused Jacques some trouble.”
“That’s terrible” Weiss responded shaking her head and chuckling
“Then why are you laughing” Ruby answered with a smile
“Because you’re much too good at this.” Weiss replied
“Good at what?” Ruby asked as innocently as she could
“You know what you little fiend! Distracting me.” Weiss answered pinching Ruby’s side “But I do appreciate it” She added more seriously
“But you’re going to insist on not letting me do it aren’t you” Ruby added in what wasn’t quite a pout.
“Sorry” Weiss answered “It’s just… You know what I hate most about this place.” Ruby shook her head quietly and moved to sit cross legged behind Weiss and softly massaged her neck. “It’s how no one cares. We go through all these, these stupid little dances say this do that and wear these terrible phony smiles the whole time. A whole room of people with no joy in their lives and not a care for anyone other than themselves, smiling at each other and asking how everyone’s been or what their newest hobbies are. I can’t stand it! and you know the worst part the part I really can’t stand I used to be one of them, Ruby! I used to sit in all those meetings and smile and say all those words and I didn’t care about any of those people. I didn’t care about anything but me and all those things I was supposed to do and say and now I’m back in all those same rooms, with all those same people, saying and doing all those same things. It reminds me of a time I’m not particularly proud of a time I’d rather forget and yet I’m here doing it all again and still none of them care.”
“You care” Ruby whispered “More then any one else I know”
Weiss turned to face Ruby crossing her own legs in front of her as she did “That’s just because you always forget about you Ruby, I don’t hold a candle to you.”
“aww Weiiisssss!” Ruby said jumping forward and tackling her backwards in a big hug
“Woah, Ruby!” Weiss cried as she fell backward quickly casting a glyph which held the duo up more then the bed Ruby had just effectively thrown them off of “You dolt! If I was anyone else..!”
“I’m not dating anyone else.” Ruby interrupted kissing Weiss. Weiss rolled away as soon as Ruby stopped escaping to the safety of the bed just before releasing the glyph and dropping Ruby on the floor “Hey!” Ruby called back.
“What you caused this I was only saving myself. That was the natural consequence of your actions” Weiss retorted with a well-practiced aristocratic sniff
“I take it back” Ruby pouted still sitting on the floor, crossing her legs and arms. “You don’t care you’re just a big meanie who will let her loving girlfriend crash on the floor just because she got a little carried away with how much she loved you.”
“I suppose that is the natural consequence of my actions” Weiss answered
“natural consequences of what… Woah hey!” Ruby cried as a second glyph shot her, relatively gently, back on to the bed “Nice shot” Ruby said as she landed right next to Weiss
“Thanks” Weiss answered with a smile
“natural consequences of what actions?” Ruby asked finishing her initial question.
“Oh just the ones where I decided to date you. I knew going in it was probably a bigger threat to my safety then being a huntress and for some reason I decided to do it anyway. I guess I should accept the consequences of that as much as you should accept what’s bound to happen when you jump face first off a bed.” Weiss replied
“very funny” Ruby said going back to her pouting “but does that mean you’re better finally? Did you get it all out?” she added after a moment
“Yes” Weiss answered with a light smile “I think I got it all out for today at least thank you for listening”
“Good” Ruby replied and tackled her again this time into the bed instead of off it “because I think now you need a good snuggling, you know make sure your spirits stay nice and high for the rest of the night”
“Oh because I need it, is that why? Are you sure it doesn’t have anything to do with you wanting to?” Weiss asked staring up into Ruby’s eyes as she laid on top of her their faces only inches apart
“Well” Ruby answered as though she had been caught with her hand in the cookie jar “there could be two reasons” She admitted before kissing Weiss on the neck the way Weiss loved.
Weiss stretched herself appreciatively against the contact and smiled back deviously “Well, if you insist…”

The Good, The Bad, and the Dirty: RWBY Vol 6 Ep 13
Tumblr media
#GayForSummerRose
#BeesConfirmed #RenoraStyle #RTWhatAreYouDoingWithMyEmotions #ThisShitIsIllegal.
Overall rating: 8/10.
A.N.: RT provided us with an official “Look how far we’ve come.”
The Good:
Okay, I can definitely say I love this season finale more than the vol 5 finale. yes, even if Vol 6′s greatest tragedy is having no Raven in it, I have to say, the rollercoaster of emotions the last 16 gave me were a thrill.
Where to start?
Let’s kick it chronologically. Watched it 2 more times for this.
"Yes, and we just ruined the only thing capable of stopping it.”
I want to applaud Kara for her delivery of this line. It was cold, in a very Grimm tone. Loved it!
I think the structure of the episode was well thought as most of the contents of this episode belong in this section:
Set up:
This whole episode is mainly centered around Ruby. She is the one the camera will follow and point and for reactions, this is crucial for the emotional beat of this episode.
Cordovin’s redemption is set up at the beginning of the episode and follows a good narrative in the next 16 minutes.
Blake’s state and struggle is acknowledged by those around her, specially Yang and Ruby. This scene is great, not only because it cements that what Blake went through is not something to be shrugged off, but because also provides with one of the most wholesome moments of the whole episode: Ruby looks at Yang and she knows.
Maria comes in and paints an objective:
The utilitarian route - They take the chaos as an opportunity to run.
The idealist route - They stay and fight, even if they are at a disadvantage.
Camera focuses on Ruby for choice —> Team for back up —> Back to Ruby for confirmation. She is the one who makes the call.
Strategy one: Doomed to fail.
Ruby states that she HAS to do this.
Build up:
Cordovin reaches her breaking point as she listens to Ruby’s resolution.
Cool flight sequence.
Plan fails.
New strategy which focuses a lot more on team effort. I love the scene were Blake goes over to Weiss. We are Weiss stans first, RWBY fans second. The fact that everything feels connected, shows you this was more thought out than the Vol 5 ending battle sequence (With the exception of Cinder vs. Raven vs. Yang). Ren and Jaune are out of the game, no aura. Yang and Nora are to distract the Leviathan. Blake is there for emotional support, she has no aura and Gambol Shroud is broken. Weiss is giving Ruby method of transportation.
Ruby faces the Leaviathan: This is the official RT RWBY “Look how far we’ve come” montage, I say this not only because this is meant to show Ruby’s memories, but because most of the time, the clear point of view of these is not Ruby, but the audience.
Toddler Yang + Young Taiyang: Emotional connection to childhood from Ruby/ Reminder of the fan favorite Burning the Candle episode.
Zwei joins the team: highlight of the time at beacon/everyone’s fav corgi.
Food fight: call back to the ‘good ol’ days’/ Everyone’s favorite fight sequence.
Blake loves tuna: nice team building/One of the funniest scenes for the FNDM.
Penny: scene were she tells Ruby she wants to leave Atlas.
Vomit boy: First time Ruby saw Jaune/Some old FNDM nicknames.
Team JNPR at the noodle station.
Pyrrha —> ANGST TRIGGER.
Jaune training at night: Ruby was woken up every night by this/Sad Arkos moment that hit everyone.
Yang losing an arm: scarring memory for Ruby to see her sister like that/one of the most telling shots of Vol 3 ending.
Yang closing up: see above.
Pyrrha dying.
Penny dead.
Ruby’s powers don’t work, focus on the Leviathan noticing her. Zoom to the lamp.
Pay off:
JINN INTERVENTION! Set up for future volumes, probably one of the smartest moves Ruby pulled up ever. And it’s perfect tied in to the way Ruby react after being reminded of the relic’s existence and how it affect Grimm, established in earlier episodes.
Continuation of montage:
Team RWBY ready for mission: fond memory/of of the iconic moments of the first volumes.
Weiss apologizing: Official beginning of their friendship/Iconic moment of vol 1.
Blake cheering: old classes/meme’d image.
Yang telling Ruby she will always be there for her: emotional contrast to the last Yang flashback/connection of Yang’s short to her self-sacrificial nature/mother hen attitude.
Vol 2 Ending: crisis avoided when the bad guys were easy to deal with.
Dance: Another excellent scene from vol 2.
Team JNPR together.
Qrow’s first appearance: emotional core of Ruby/Qrow relationship.
Oscar hopeful.
María giving Ruby lessons.
Penny when she confirms they are friends.
SUMMER ROSE OMFG
Gotta say, I wasn’t expecting to see her this soon, but I am so fucking glad to see her! I can finally draw all the Team STRQ I’ve wanted to draw! She's so fucking pretty aaaaaaaaaa
Does this confirm STRQ backstory soon?
Ruby is able to stop the Leviathan momentarily.
Cordovin redeems herself.
Now, we get to skip all the fight, which I find to be a great choice. After the last 3 episodes of constant action, we need a breather. We need interactions, a slow down of the pace and some discussion.
We get the small closing scene for the Qrow and Ruby arc. She restates her love for him and Qrow realizes he has someone new to inspire him. It’s very important that he hesitates before taking a drink, and actually pouts his flask down down.
María is also inspired by Ruby. After patting Qrow in the back (metaphorically), we get a reinforcement of team RWBY + JN_R + Oscar as the new generation who take on the mission of saving the world and protecting others as huntsmen.
We got some wholesome and organic exchanges between the kiddos. It’s so refreshing and welcome to see them interact, even if it seems like something so ordinary and miniscule.
Bees get confirmation Renora style. Volume 7 will be filled with filled with Bumblebee y’all! Happy to see they will explore their feelings for each other after they settle the Adam fiasco. They can move on and build a healthy relationship together.
When the Renora kiss tho.
Oscar reveals that Ozpin helped him land the ship. This is super important! Ozpin shows that he has faith in them, and instead of taking over, he shows his support and guides Oscar. This is a very good sign, even if it leaves a sour taste in everyone’s mouth.
Good for the Ozpin arc.
I love the way Atlas looks! It’s an interesting way to protect the city from oncoming Grimm attacks after what happened to Matle. I wonder however, how they keep the city up and what plan of evacuation/defense they have for the impending invasion.
It’s clear the set up for the next season is more political and I’m all here for it!
The Bad
The way Yang and Blake to join the others at the beginning of the episode has me face palming. How the fuck could they have gotten there in time when they were both tired, with no aura left and shocked after what they went through?
That was cheap as fuck, I’d rather they fly to pick them up, that woudl have added what? 1 minute to the 16 minute chapter?
The Dirty
The first scene of the whole episode is completely disconnected for everything else, and though it’s a clear set up for volume 7, I feel it would have been a better post credits scene than the one we got with Salem that was a huge meh.
I will make a Vol 6 review in the future (cause I can’t decide if I like it better or worse than Volume 5), but for sure, the Cinder scenes are completely out of place and only serve for set up for volume 7. They are so clumsily implemented, I can’t believe they couldn’t set up a theme to have them make sense.
Anyways, this is here for the following reasons:
Good callback to Pyrrha’s death. That exchange clearly triggered the audience because boi we’re not over that.
Cool new outfits, kind old how the CRWBY keeps pulling these outfits change to indicate a new arc and make it so obvious.
WHERE ARE MY RWBY ALTAS OUTFITS. I NEED THEM NOW.
Nice to see Neo’s Semblance being explored. She has limits, and we know more of how it works.
Still disappointed Neo doesn’t use sign language. I’m pretty sure Cinder would be able to get some context or read her lips, but whatever. I guess it’s too complicated to animate.
Overall rating: 8/10.
A.N.: Okay I am very gay for Summer someone body please help me the thirst—

CHAPTER WARNINGS: Drug/alcohol use. Truth or dare, Monochrome(Weiss/Blake) kiss, grinding with boners, fainting.
=Chapter 39
"So the pizza and Chinese should both be here in about twenty minutes," Ruby sighed, getting off the phone. "And I told the Chinese guy I'd come out to the car to get it, okay? Is that better?"
"Alright alright, I'll hide out in here in that time. Hey, either of you guys want a drink? Might as well burn through my soda since there’s no way in hell I’m lugging it back to Tennessee."
They'd finally come to a compromise after so long arguing. Ruby and Penny would get their chicken and rice, Yang and the others would get their pizza. Half extra-cheese and bacon for Yang, and ham-and-pineapple for Weiss, along with alfredo sauce and spinach. And then a seafood topped pizza for Blake and Sun to share. Yang had pretty much memorised their pizza orders after this long.
"Oh, do we have Kool-Aid?!" Then Ruby heard herself and winced. "That's… not what grown-ups drink. Right. Um, is there ginger ale, maybe?"
"Dude I can always ask if Blake has some, you can be as much of a kid you want with me!" Already wandering into the kitchen to check the various cupboards for her sodas and other snacks. The things she knew Blake wouldn't want to keep anyway.
Having made herself comfortable on the sofa, Penny simply twiddled her thumbs as she waited for everyone to come downstairs, somewhat nervous of her surroundings still. These were all her girlfriend's friends, after all. "What game did you say we're playing later? Spin the bottle?"
"Yeah," Ruby replied with a nervous little chuckle. "I… well, I've never played it before, but Yang told me that you and me get a 'pass' if we come to a dare that's too far for us, because of… you know." Her voice dipped lower. "Because you're ace, and I'm, um, jumpy."
"Oh gosh, I wonder what they'd have us do if we didn’t pass," Penny wondered, although she budged over on the sofa to let her sit next to her, right away leaning against her once she did. "I'm sorry if I do pass a lot, Ruby… You know how I am with that stuff, heh."
"Doesn't matter to me," Ruby told her warmly, snuggling up to her side and leaning her head on the girl's shoulder. "You're all I need, just the way you are. Well… you and my right hand," she added in a joking tone.
"What's that about a hand?" Blake asked as she began walking down the stairs.
"AAAHH!!" Ruby yelped, moving away from Penny in a flash; not far, only sitting up straight and putting a couple of inches between them. Her glasses ended up slightly crooked on her face. "Nothing! I, um… nevermind!"
"Hey Blake! Do you have some Kool-Aid for the little flower? Only managed to find some soda for Penny and me, and I dunno if Weiss wants any booze or anything." Yang called out from the kitchen, though she had begun to head back into the living room with the others again. However, she right away noticed Blake's eyes. "Holy shit, you really did Blake-and-bake up there… I thought you'da done something else with Weiss going up with you."
"She BLAKED!" Weiss laughed, nearly stumbling on her way down as she clung to the railing like her life depended on it. Which, in all honesty, it sort of did. "That's great, because it's her name!"
All Blake could do was laugh self-consciously. "Well… I didn't figure out until we were about to do it that she was a newbie."
"You got Weiss high?!" Yang instantly looked toward her girlfriend, who was stumbling all over the place happily. One look of her eyes told her everything.
“WHAT?!” Ruby squeaked – betraying how shocked she was, even if afterward she tried to act like she hadn’t said anything.
Sun's inane laughter preceded him, as he too was stumbling down the stairs. "Fuck yes, we did! Man, she was toking like a champ. It was pretty hilarious watching her take the first hit, though."
"You hear that?" Weiss giggled, walking right up to Yang and looking up into her face. Her blue eyes looked darker with her pupils so dilated. "I'm a CHAMP."
"Ooof course you are." Yang patted her head slightly patronisingly, starting to guide her further into the room with the others. "Oh, pizza's gonna be here in fifteen, I got you the ham and pineapple with all your other… stuff."
"Oh, I hope you got me and Blake some, too. I could eat just about anything…" Sun had already wandered into the kitchen, and could be clearly heard rummaging through the cupboards himself.
"Look who's got the munchies," Blake laughed as she helped Yang plop Weiss down on the sofa, on Ruby's other side. The younger girl still looked a little nervous now that she figured out that Weiss had been smoking something technically only quasi-legal in some states, but it was as likely to be about sitting next to her idol as that, in all honesty.
"Hey, Rubble Bubble," Weiss said to Ruby, weaving from side to side very slightly. "How are you and Penny Pen-Pen?"
"I… we, um…" She turned to her girlfriend, scratching the back of her head. "How are we, Penny?"
"We are… going to be in… so so much trouble if my dads find out I've been in the same house as weed," Penny replied with wide eyes as she stared toward Weiss, amazed at how affectionate she seemed to become as she cuddled Ruby rather closely. Maybe a distraction would help. "Uuuuh, Blake? Could we start playing that game now? Before things get too…touchy-feely?"
"They're not too touchy-feely," Weiss said with a pout as she smashed her cheek up against Ruby's neck, causing the poor girl to blush heavily. "This is my friend! My bee-eff-eff! It's effed up not to cuddle!" Then she laughed, eyes flicking over to Yang. "Did you notice what I did there? With the letters?"
"Oh, I sure did." Yang almost had to humour her while she was in this state, nodding slowly with a half-serious smile. She was simply thankful there would be food soon arriving to distract the stoned crowd from getting too handsy with the more innocent of tonight's company.
But that wasn't to be helped when Sun arrived back in the room with a few bags of chips, and an empty beer bottle to boot. Seems the game really was going to start early, especially when he put it down in the middle of them. "So, ladies and… myself; what say you to a game, of unimaginable… things.…" Then he got quieter. "I have no idea where I was going with that…"
"Somewhere stupid," Blake sighed, facepalming. But she was smiling behind her hand. Then she lowered it and said, "Alright, Yang, you're the soberest one who's played before. Care to tell them the rules?"
"Caaaaan do!" Much to Blake and Sun's relief, Yang was in chipper spirits already. And she hadn't even had a drop to drink, or anything else! She was back to the Yang that Blake had always known. Or more, the Yang that Blake met in that brief time on tour. Shuffling closer to the group, she lowered her hand to the coffee table, ready to spin. "Rules are simple: whoever spun is the one that asks the question, or gives the dare. And whoever the bottle lands on, chooses if they want to tell the truth to a question, or complete a dare. Spin and get yourself, spin again." Sending it spinning rather harshly, she continued as it turned and turned. "You can pass, but the forfeit means you eat the most disgusting thing you have ever ever seen: anchovies!"
And then gradually it stopped, and she looked up toward the first victim. "So, Blake Belladonna; truth or dare?"
"Hmm…" Glancing between all of them, the hostess wondered if she would be up to any truth at all in front of so many. So she decided to take it easy on herself the first time and said, "Dare."
"Alright…" Putting her hand to her chin, the uncasted one, she thought to herself. What could she get away with daring the host to do? Seeing as she was high, the possibilities were endless. She snapped her fingers when she thought of the perfect dare. One that could even bury the hatchet between the two of them. "I dare you and Weiss to make out."
"WHAT?!" Blake yelped, eyes flying wide. "Dude, that's- I mean, she's your girlfriend! You're really asking me to-"
"Oh, it's fine," Weiss was laughing as she waved a hand around. "I mean, it's not like you two haven't kissed each other, and I've kissed Yang… pretending you and I haven't indirectly kissed is just silly." Then she seemed to hear herself and straightened up slightly. "Wait… I mean, that actually is kind of weird, isn't it? Wow…"
Eyes still wide, Blake turned to Sun. "Are you okay with this? I mean… I know it's how the game goes, but…"
"Hey, I'm not trying to sound like a creep here but, you're asking a guy if he is okay with watching his girlfriend make out with another girl. That's like asking if Weiss is okay with singing." Sun was clearly higher than he first planned. But when all he received was confused looks all around, he tried to laugh it off. "That's a ‘yes’, by the way. Totally fine with it."
"Then it's settled by the guy thinking with his dick, as per the norm," Yang joked, hit soon turned back. "Or are you gonna eat the fish?"
Something they didn't expect was for Blake to put her hands on either side of Weiss's legs, lean up and nuzzle her face right next to Weiss's ear. The pop star visibly shivered, and Ruby let out a little gasp of pure shock at the show and the mass of black hair suddenly right next to her… but it wasn't quite what the others thought.
"Listen… I know we're both pretty stoned here, but um… I can eat the anchovy. I actually don't mind how they taste, so if you don't want to make out, that's no big d-"
"No, I'm fine," Weiss said in a normal voice, then flinched when she felt Blake flinch from her talking so close to her ear. Dipping into a whisper now, she continued, "I m-mean… half the reason I tried doing weed was to see what Yang experienced while she was gone. Since she also kissed you, it’s kind of the same thing. I mean, that probably sounds really weird, doesn't it?"
It did, but Blake had no way to state that it did without sounding like she was judging Weiss's request. Which didn't make any sense, given she had essentially swooped in to get some free nookie while Yang was at her lowest point in life.
As Ruby let out a tiny squeal, she pulled back and took Weiss's pink little mouth with her own, lips kneading at the soft skin. Despite her insistence that she was fine with everything, Weiss visibly drew back, leaning into the rear of the couch… but Blake's body followed, crawling up into her lap and straddling it as she cupped Weiss's face, heart thudding in her throat.
"Mhhhh!" Weiss let out in a panicked voice, but quickly thereafter, it softened into an, "Mmm…" And the woman shivered, letting her own fingers press into Blake's back to help keep her from pitching backward. Her mouth fell open, and Blake wasted no time completing the ritual that moved things from "kissing" to "making out", as Yang had dared them; pressing her tongue against another tongue, exploring the inside of her mouth.
And all the while, all Blake could think was, 'I'm actually doing this. I'm making out with a celebrity - I'm making out with my ex-girlfriend-slash-ex-fuckbuddy's girlfriend, who is an internationally-known musician! What the hell is my life?!'
Being close to the events as well, Penny looked with wide eyes to what was happening, and couldn't help but grip the sofa a little tighter in fear. They'd never ask her or Ruby to do such a thing with anyone else, would they? Not likely. This was only because the two of them were high. She assumed she was safe. But Sun and Yang were loving it, both clapping wildly and cheering on their girlfriends with a clap and even a wolf whistle, right up until the very end of their kiss.
"Alright alright, girls. Save some for us later!" Yang laughed.
Of course, being that Weiss was not as accustomed to the effects of the chemicals tingling within her skull, she was the one to grunt against Blake's chin, "Holy shit, you are really good at that!"
"N-nah, you're the one who's been practicing," Blake laughed shakily, petting her neck for just a second as a way to wind down slowly. Then she extracted herself from atop Weiss and plunked down on the floor again. "Whoo… okay, my spin now, right?"
"Yep! Now to find out who your next victim is." Yang slightly rolled the bottle in her direction so it would be easier for her, eagerly awaiting to see who that would be. And if that was the first dare, she knew they would all be in for a pretty intense game tonight.
Sure enough, Blake didn't even quite touch the bottle before she was pressing the hand to her face instead, muttering under her breath, "I can't believe I just kissed Weiss of all the people on the planet…"
"Why, is my breath that bad?" Weiss laughed, allowing one leg to flop over her arm of the couch. This was a completely undignified pose that none of them had ever seen from her, either on TV or in person.
"Oh… just… nevermind." Then she spun the bottle, which whizzed around a few times until it landed on… herself. "Whoops," she giggled, spinning it again. This time, it came to rest pointing at her boyfriend.
"Awwwh, dangit!"
"Oooohhh, Monkey Boy's turn!" Yang laughed. But when that nickname brought only confused looks from everyone but Blake, she explained; "Last time we made him handstand for like a minute, and he did it with no problem. Like a monkey. Kinda scary, really."
"Yeah yeah, whatever." Sun glared in her direction. "Just because I look after myself and do lots of work at the gym doesn’t mean I can peel bananas with my feet." And then straight back to Blake. The game was at a high point, he had to impress the others if they were going to get anywhere. "I'll go dare."
"You're not getting off with a headstand this time, not after what I had to do!" She looked around, trying to figure out how to wind him up best. Then she had the perfect thing. "You have… to sit on Yang's lap for the rest of the game. The bottle will still count for you if it points where you were before – and if you ever get up, you still have to eat the anchovy."
"Oh come on, even when the pizza gets here?!"
"Even when pizza is here. Only exception is if one of us goes to the bathroom," Yang encouraged. Leaning back just enough so he could find a comfortable sitting, she patted the top of her legs, eyes half closed as she smirked. "What are you afraid of, little man?"
"You guys are dicks." Moving from his position, he did as he was told, shuffling over and sitting himself on Yang's lap. At first he only sat on the edge by her knees, but Yang soon stopped that by pulling him in closer, right against her waist. To which he turned to glare. "Yo, hands off the goods! You have to wine and dine me before you get this booty."
Only a smug smirk from Yang. "Whatever. Just take your turn, my little lapdog."
"Hmph.…" Doing as asked, he spun the bottle quite harshly, until it landed on… "Weiss!"
"Ohhh great," Weiss sighed, cheeks still a little pink from the last time something had involved her. "Umm… I think I'll go with 'truth', actually. Hit me with your best shot."
"Ooohh… what to ask a popstar…" Sun tapped his chin in thought, looking back toward Yang to see if she had suggestions even. But when none came, he sighed outward through his nose. Until finally, he came up with the perfect one to embarrass his new 'seat' as well. "What's the craziest fuck you and Yang have ever had?"
"WHAT?!" Weiss burst out automatically, sitting up straighter. "But you can't ask THAT!" She hadn't noticed that she'd put her hand on Ruby's thigh to help propel herself forward… but Ruby certainly had. And by the blushy expression on her face, she was both scared out of her mind about it and unsure how to go about voicing her concerns.
"Actually, he can," Blake told her with an inelegant snort. "You can puss out, but if you do… there's the anchovies." Her fingertip nudged the can.
"Eww…" Curling her lip, she fell back again. Ruby breathed a huge sigh of relief when the hand went back to its owner's lap. "Well… okay Yang, judgment call. The time with the handcuffs or the, um… last time?" Her eyebrow went up challengingly.
"You had to make it one of those two…" Yang was blushing wildly, knowing either one of the stories would be potentially embarrassing, especially with her little sister in the room to hear it as well! But it had to be done. So in the end; "The last time… was pretty crazy, yeah. Go with that."
"Those are the two wildest." Straightening up, she smiled. "So it all began with an innocent little racist remark I made…"
The others listened in rapt attention as Weiss explained the setting and the thoughts going into what came next. A shadow passed over Blake's face when the hanfu was described, but she kept her feelings to herself. Now she understood Yang's reaction to her trying it on a little better.
Then she got to the part about the strapon, and everyone lost it. Penny looked like she was going to throw up and Ruby was clutching her ears and going "LA LA LA I DON'T NEED TO KNOW THIS ABOUT MY SISTERRRR", and the other two were laughing up a storm. So finally, she gave it up as a bad job.
"You can figure out the rest, right?!" Weiss snapped, folding her arms over her chest and blushing furiously.
"T-that, um… was certainly a… uh, wow…" Penny was looking wide eyed with a mix of her blush and concern. She certainly didn't expect to be hearing such intimate details about two people she knew very well, even if it was part of the game. And such a picture in her mind made her cover her mouth.
"Someone hug poor Penny, she looks so scared!" Sun remarked, unable to help shuffle in his 'seat' a little. "Hey, quit poking me!"
"I'm not," confessed a deeply-blushing Yang.
"You're no- oh.… I… ah fuck, and I have to stay here?" Soon Yang wasn't the only one blushing intensely as Sun resigned to his fate, crossing his arms and staying still, even though there was also now a warm, firm presence pressing against his cheeks.
Now it was Weiss who was smirking, even though she still looked very flustered. “Yang, are you trying to bang a boy in the butt?” Then she giggled, clearly still affected by her upstairs activities. “That had a lot of B’s in it.”
“Careful, or I’ll have to sit on Sun’s lap to keep that chubby down, and it’ll just be this vicious cycle of dick-sitting.” But Blake was smiling and clearly not serious. Then she looked over to Weiss. “Anyway, your spin.”
“Oh? Oh… okay.” Leaning in again — and much to Ruby’s relief, using her own knee for leverage instead of anyone else’s — Weiss spun the bottle, watching as it whizzed around until it landed on… “Hey, Penny! Okay, what’s it gonna be?”
"Oop…" Penny looked around at the various eyes that were all on her, still blushing intently from the story they all had to hear. But if she was dared, she'd probably have to make out with someone, or worse! In the end she played it safe, covering her eyes. "Truth! Truth! Just… Be gentle? I'm not as good at this as you guys."
Of course, that melted the diva's heart instantly. They had all been able to tell Penny was a bit more innocent than the others, and such moments only confirmed that. "Awww… okay, okay. An easy one. What is your favourite feature on Ruby?" As if it was necessary, her hand gestured to the girl sitting between them, who smiled awkwardly.
"My favourite feature?" she echoed. It was so much better than what she was expecting. Maybe she wouldn't need to eat anchovies after all. With a slight blush, she looked toward her girlfriend, smiling. "Well, she's simply adorable for one, but then she's also such good company, we can laugh about anything. Even something as mundane as what ice cream we like."
There was a chorus of "Awwwwww" from everyone. Then Weiss giggled, "Well, I meant like, her face or her boobs or something, but I'll accept that answer."
"Oh, that's easy. I like her cute little nose." And Penny even answered that as she leant forward to boop Ruby on hers, right before she spun the bottle again as Ruby giggled. And it landed on…
"Oh boy." Yang looked as it pointed in hers and Sun's direction. But she knew the rule, it was only Sun's turn when it pointed to where he was previously. Still, she considered this as an easy round. "Alright, dare me, Penny!"
"I dare you… To… Um.…" Penny was in thought for a rather long while, scratching her head and staring out into space. Although as soon as Ruby leant in to whisper something in her ear, she suddenly began to smirk, nodding her head. "Oh, that's good. I like it." Backing away from her girlfriend, she finally pointed. "I dare you and Weiss to allow me and Ruby to have the spare room!"
"What?! Oh come on, that's not fair!" Yang protested, even jumping very slightly, much to Sun's building blush.
"Eat the anchovy," Weiss told her. "Or that'll be the last fishy thing you eat for a whi-" Catching what she was saying, she slapped a hand over her mouth and let slip a muffled "Oh my GOD" as she covered the rest of her face with the other hand.
"WOW!" Blake guffawed, slapping the table. She tried to pull it together to further comment, but couldn't quite manage.
“Way to burn yourself!” Sun added.
"But… Ruby and Penny need the cuddle space," Yang protested. In truth, she absolutely hated the taste of anchovies, and somewhat wanted to sleep with Weiss on the sofa. It meant they would be extra close and able to do what they wanted downstairs. So in the end, she nodded to Penny. "Deal."
"Ughhh, Xiao Long, you disappointment!" Weiss flung at her as Ruby and Penny high-fived. "I'll sleep on the sofa and you can sleep in the bathtub for all I care!"
"Ohhh, don't be so mean," Blake chuckled, wiping her eyes. "She is supporting my boyfriend's muscular buttcheeks with her, um, lap at the moment."
"You're so in the dog house."
"Shut up, Sun."
And the game continued throughout the night. Pizza and Chinese both arrived on time, halfway through one of Ruby's dares to kiss Sun. It gave her a lucky escape at least, which everyone granted. But as the evening went on, the dares and truths varied in intensity. An hour and a half later, Ruby had had a small bottle of beer, Penny had been forced to wear her hair in ridiculous pigtails for the rest of the evening, Weiss's top was off and she was in her bra, Yang’s shorts were off so she was down to her underwear, and Blake had an anchovy when someone dared her to flash everyone. The consequence was kind of a copout for the hostess, after all.
Having just had an anchovy himself, when someone had dared him to touch Yang's member through her underwear, Sun spun the bottle again, until it landed on… "Ruby! Truth or dare?"
"Ohhh… I guess I'll take a truth this time, I've had so many dares!" she laughed nervously, biting her lip. Her silvery eyes had flicked to Weiss's chest a lot more than she had been hoping, but at least it was far less than she had been tempted.
"Okay… this one you can have a free pass if you want, only because I think your sister will kick my ass if it's too far." Briefly looking behind to Yang, who could only push her hips upward toward him in response, he laughed nervously. "Or even… something worse." Then he leant forward a little, asking, "What's the furthest you and Penny have gotten?"
"O-oh, we? Me and Penny? Well…" Glancing at her pigtailed companion with a nervous gulp, she looked around at the rest of them. "W-well, we have tried a few things, but not as much as you guys probably think we did."
"Come on," Blake purred, leaning on her elbow against the table. "Has to at least have been third base."
"Um, I don't know what that means? But like… well, we tried touching each other. And Penny told me afterward it didn't do much for her, in terms of horniness." By this point, Ruby was redder than her hoodie, but she kept going, probably due to the tiny drop of liquor in her system. "And um, I liked it, but I was so nervous that I, um… oh god, this is so gross; I think I peed a little."
"What? Wait…" Blake's eyebrows knitted slightly. "Was it really pee, or just clear? Like-"
"I don't really know, but I felt super embarrassed that it happened on Penny's hand and not mine, so w-we haven't tried that again!" Slowly, Ruby pulled the hood up over her head and drew her knees up to cover the gap in the front of it.
Penny was equally as red, covering her eyes and looking down toward the floor; this was definitely what she considered their lowest point. But at least it was over and done with rather than being delved into further. Only from behind her hands did she murmur, "This was that time we slept in Pyrrha's room too, and she and her boyfriend were asleep."
"Holy shit," Yang couldn't help but laugh. And once again, it resulted in Sun getting more and more flustered as he bounced on Yang's lap. As much as she was made uncomfortable hearing about her sister in that way, the story was something interesting. "Didn't think you two had that in you. In a good way, I mean."
But Blake wasn't quite through. For the first time since she had gone upstairs, she looked almost completely sober as her amber eyes gazed across at the totally mortified girl who was slowly unfolding herself. "Ruby… remind me to explain 'female ejaculation' to you, uh, sometime tomorrow. For now, go on and spin."
"Huh? Oh, um… alrighty." Reaching out, she flicked the bottle to careen in a circle until… "AH! I'm sorry, Weiss!"
"What are you sorry for?" the pop star yawned, stretching her limbs out. “This is part of the game.” But Ruby's eyes were glued to the display of her form, though she was trying to play it off as if simply waiting for her to finish yawning.
"Maybe we should make these few the last rounds. Looks like princess is getting tired," Yang teased while she watched Weiss for a moment longer, but then instead looked up to Sun as she gyrated her hips once again. "And this princess is getting horny."
"Oh fuck you," Sun complained, folding his arms and pouting for a moment as he looked toward Blake. "This is all your fault."
"Hey, if you wanna borrow him…" But when Sun didn't look amused, she just laughed and said, "Okay, Weiss, what's it gonna be?"
"Hmm? Oh… truth, yeah." Seemed Weiss really was tired from all her recent trauma, and not up for dares anymore.
"Okay, then." Ruby thought for a few seconds, trying not to pay attention to Yang's attempts to poke Sun in the front of his shorts. Then she snort-laughed as she asked in a joking tone, "What do you think is my best feature?" She sent a bemused look over her shoulder at Penny before turning back.
But Weiss only smiled, having missed that it was a callback to Penny's question earlier. "Probably your eyes. They're very open and engaging. But, I mean… I like all of you, so that's a pretty tough question."
"Aww, it's okay," Ruby said bashfully. "Now you can spi-"
"Actually, I thought about asking you out."
That certainly shut the younger girl up. So it was Blake who wound up demanding, "Y-you WHAT?!"
"Not that seriously," Weiss chuckled weakly, patting Ruby on the shoulder and being completely oblivious to how shocked the poor thing seemed. "But I mean, you're really pretty, I couldn’t quite tell if you and Penny were actually together or just really close buddies – but that was why I never asked. Not being sure. Still, you were so nice to me when I was… I mean, you know. Missing Yang. During that mess. And I started to feel really comfortable talking to you, so… maybe…"
The entire room fell silent alongside Ruby, including Yang, whose jaw would have dropped to the floor if it wasn't securely on her face. Of course, she'd meant the time they were in their brief absence from each other, which was entirely understandable for her to think such a thought. But the fact her sister was such a huge fan of her made it more interesting. She could never guess what Ruby's reaction was going to be.
One of Ruby's hands raised, finger pointed as if to make a response… and then she pitched to one side, eyes rolling into the back of her head as she landed in Penny's lap.
"RUBY!" Weiss burst out, startled from her sleepiness by the sudden turn. "W-whoa, are you okay?!"
But Yang could only erupt with even more laughter, only able to press her head up against Sun's back trying to contain the tears back from giggling so hard throughout the evening. "She fainted again! I can't believe it!"
But an ever-blushing Sun was getting even more squirmy each time Yang bounced. And eventually, he finally gave in and stood up. Seemed the game really was unwinding entirely now. "Okay, I give up, I can't do it anymore." Holding a hand out to Blake, he said lowly, "Anchovy me, my sweet. I'm too far gone for this world."
Chuckling, Blake instead reached up to grasp his hand, using it to help herself to her feet. "Nah, I think the game ended when one of us literally passed out. So I grant you a pass. You're did pretty damn well, though."
"Really? Oh thank god!" He grinned, standing as he watched the other four. Watching as Penny made a few futile attempts to get Ruby up and Weiss and Yang to both look at one another. It wasn't long till Sun remembered why. "So I'm guessing Yang gets the floor, Weiss gets the sofa?"
"Well, maybe Penny and Ruby could take this couch," Weiss said slyly, glancing at the unconscious form of the poor girl. "Since she has already claimed it by fainting here."
"Oh no, you're not getting out of this one! Anchovy or sofa, that's the deal!" Penny insisted, hauling one of her girlfriend’s arms over her shoulder so she could stand up with her, trying to keep her upright, or at least wake her up enough to walk up the stairs.
And Yang simply sat still in her place on the floor, slowly looking over to Weiss, until she finally grinned innocently and scratched the back of her head. "I really, really don't like anchovies, okay?"
The diva pursed her lips and put her hands on her hips, nodding downward. "Well, it looks like you like something well enough."
Laughing nervously, Blake said, "Hey, hey, this kind of stuff happens when you spin the bottle, okay? No big deal. You and I made out and I'm not standing here thinking it means anything."
"Well… alright, that's fair." But she did ask, "If Sun hadn't got up, would you have kept grinding against him until you finished? Don't forget that one time we didn't quite get you out of your shorts before-"
"NOPE! We're not telling people that story, lalalalallalalala!" Yang very loudly called, getting back up to her feet again so she could start to hurry everyone out the room. Even though Sun was only laughing even louder while Yang continued to poke his back with her finger, jabbing over and over until he started to move.
"Alright, alright! We're going, we're going! We'll try not to come down ‘til ten, alright?"
"That information is appreciated," Weiss half-laughed as she helped Penny get Ruby to her feet. She had been hoping to play off her fainting, but in the end it was Yang's dare, not hers.
"Wha…?" Ruby muttered as they got her closer to the stairs. "I… something happened?"
"You fainted when Weiss said she thought of asking you out a couple of months ago." Penny filled her in, still holding her closely as she slowly paced up the stairs with her, watching to make sure she didn't slip at all. Following just behind were Blake and Sun, who waited until the younger girls were completely up the stairs before they followed. Giving them just enough time to look back to them both.
"Well, we'll toss you down a blanket in a few minutes,” Sun chuckled. “But the sofa is fine, right? It's extra snug."
"Don't…" Yang slapped her forehead, groaning outward. "You'll only put me more and more into the doghouse."
"YOU'RE ALREADY AS DEEP IN THERE AS YOU CAN BE, XIAO LONG!" Weiss shouted. Once they got to the second-floor landing, she turned to Ruby and said, "Um… was that too weird for me to tell you? Like, I was never honestly considering… you know, just that I thought you were attractive and a good friend, and that-"
"Y-you had better stop now!" The poor girl was as beet red as she had been before she passed out, and weaving as they approached the bed. "You're w-with my sister, that's good enough, I'm h-happy to be sorta-kinda related to you!"
Snorting in laughter, she pulled off the girl's shoes while Penny was removing her glasses. Then they rolled her into the middle of the bed. "Sorry again. And I would never have come between you and Penny, anyway; I don't play games like that!"
"Oh, I know you'd never! In fact, I remember we didn't actually tell you that we were together; only Yang. So you had no way of knowing!"
Penny helped with her socks, giving Ruby a small kiss on the top of one of her bare feet just before she stood back up again to get herself ready. And the first step was to pull out the ridiculous pigtails and attempt to smooth her hair back to her normal, dignified bob. "I suppose such a confession makes up for us stealing this bed, correct?"
"Well… I guess it does, in a way." Watching how much Penny cared for Ruby made her smile, glad that her friend was in such good hands. "You two have a good night, I'll see you in the morning. And when Ruby's conscious again, make sure she knows I'm sorry for, um, throwing her for a loop that way."
"Oh I'm sure she'll be fine." Penny smiled, pulling the cover over Ruby, and then holding it so she could climb into bed by her side. Right away, even before Weiss left the room, she began to cuddle up against her. But that wasn't before glancing toward Weiss again. "And… I'm really glad you and Yang are going to be fine now. You make the perfect pair."
Grunting and rolling her eyes, Weiss was tempted to say something unkind about how ridiculous Yang had been that night… but she couldn't bring herself to do it. Expression turning contemplative, she breathed, "Yeah… I guess we do."
Once back downstairs, she saw Yang was doing her best to straighten up the room and she paused at the top of the stairs. "Okay, you brute! How many mistakes have you made tonight? Shall we tally them up?"
"Uuuhh…" A slightly more nervous Yang replied, hunching her shoulders as she stood back from Weiss's efforts. She'd cleared the floor of the empty boxes and bottles at least, but until they were handed the blankets and pillows, they couldn’t quite get to sleep. “Are we talking about the couch?”
"Aaaand you tried to fuck Sun," she added with a raised finger. "Plus, you didn't react jealously enough when I said I was briefly interested in Ruby."
"Well if I'm honest, I think all my jealousy was spent when you told me about you and Neon," Yang admitted as she was about to try and scratch her right arm, only to instantly stop when she felt the cast again. That snapped her back to reality. "But then again, I guess with Blake that's even… Okay, um…"
"Riiiight. Speaking of Miss Belladonna… you also didn't say a word when she climbed on top of me." Finally walking the rest of the way into the living room, she leaned against the stairwell railing. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say that was a show you were enjoying to the fullest."
"Well… I was the one who suggested it, dummy." But noticing Weiss wasn't stirring at all, her nervous laughter was beginning to die out slowly, until she looked toward the ground instead. "Should… I have not dared that? I thought it would be funny, and you and Blake seemed to be out of it, I just thought you'd both laugh or something…"
The glare only persisted, and she didn't move a muscle. "What do you think?"
Eventually she started to look downward, scratching her hair instead. "Okay, so it was mega hot to see the hottest girls I know making out. It's not like you protested! You were the one that got high with her!"
But by then, Weiss was starting to snort. Then she was giggling, doubling up as she leaned on the railing for support. And gradually, Yang was starting to look back up again and was able to notice as she was starting to crack. Thank god, she wasn't seriously angry.
Although that was cut short as she witnessed a quilt and three pillows headed straight for Weiss. And the clear voice of Sun yelling, "Heads up!"
"Ahah-huh? OW!" Instantly, Weiss was staggering toward the front door, throwing out her hand to brace herself from toppling. "HEY, we could have used a little more warning than that!"
But the loud laughter from Yang was enough of an answer for him, just as the snorting with laughter as well. It had been the loudest anyone had heard the bruiser laughing for the longest time. And enough for Sun to grin at Weiss from the top of the stairs. "It got your girlfriend laughing, so I don't think the feelings will be hard for long, do you?"
"That's not your call to make!" she called up at him. Yang, however, was still laughing, so she picked up one of the pillows and hurled it at her. "UGH!" And it hit straight in her face, forcing her to stumble for a moment, only for her to keep laughing for a little longer still, tears forming in the corners of her eyes.
"Well, I'll leave you both to it." Sun had been just about to leave, before leaning to leave one more comment. "And no repeats of that crazy romp of yours on Blake's sofa!"
"Don't tell me how to live, you… you butt-monkey!" When Sun didn't reply, merely cackled and shut their bedroom door, she turned back to the other guffawing blonde and snapped, "Oh, cut that out before I really do make you sleep in the tub."
"I'm sorry!" It sounded like a high-pitched squeal as the laughter was starting to die down, being replaced with deeper breathing as she tried to compose herself again. "Oh man, you should have seen the look on your face! Best thing I've seen all month!"
"Oh really?" Even though she was still flustered, she also glanced upward in the direction of the bedrooms. Both of those doors had closed. What was to stop her? Pacing forward, past the blanket and pillow that remained on the floor, she reached behind herself and unclasped the bra, easily slipping it off and tossing it onto the now-clean coffee table.
"Still the best thing you've seen all month?"
The last remnants of her laughter completely vanished as she opened her eyes again, and bared witness to the sight she hadn't seen in so long. Her girlfriend, half naked. She never expected for it to hit her as hard as it did, but seeing it after all this time and sadness made her instantly relax, and speak softly.
"God I missed you."
The partly-haughty, partly-irritated expression on Weiss's face completely vanished, and she reached down and picked up the blanket and pillow, walking over to Yang. She didn't engage with her… not right away.
"Let's get comfortable. You might be a pig, but I… can't imagine anywhere else I'd rather be than in your arms tonight."
"Think two months is a long enough wait." As Weiss set up the last of their temporary bed on the sofa, Yang picked up the last pillow that was thrown at her face, joining her again as she tossed it against one of the arms. It was certainly going to be snug, but Yang couldn't imagine a better evening after so long of being apart from her, to be cuddled right into her lover and snoozing off to sleep.
Pulling her own top up and over her head and off, she then also attempted to reach back and unclasp her bra, only to find that task incredibly difficult with one arm in a cast. Weiss told her, "That's okay, I got it." Once the bra was unclasped, she left a soft kiss in the center of her back. The breath that came after it had a slight shudder, and she passed her hands up from the lumbar to the shoulderblades, only pushing in very slightly with her nails.
"Hmm…" Allowing the bra to fall rather freely to the ground, she sighed contentedly at such a feeling. The soft hands of her diva were back, the tender touches, the delicate kisses, everything had returned. Part of her thought it was a dream, that she'd wake up and be back in the awful state she was in a week ago again, back to the scariest moment of her life.
But that wasn't the case. Letting her eyes flicker open again she looked back toward Weiss again, slowly smiling.
"Hey," Weiss told her quietly, biting her lip nervously as she gazed up into the violet eyes she had missed so desperately for so long. Now that they were finally, truly together and alone with each other, she wasn't sure what she ought to be saying.
But Yang was. She gradually turned around to face her properly. First thing was first: she pressed a soft kiss against her forehead as she took her hand, pulling her toward the sofa. "C'mon, let's snuggle."
"Let's."
Soon afterward, they were snuggled up in the sheets, shirtless but otherwise covered. Weiss was content to be Yang's little spoon, and snuggling her face into the arm underneath her head gratefully. Her hands were both pressing into the back of the cast nestled between her breasts, as if worried it might run away. And her big spoon was breathing softly, head nuzzled against the top of hers, occasionally dipping down to take a deep breath in through her nose. The same scent that she loved so much. All the little things she took for granted felt so good to finally have back. From the occasional little twitches Weiss did to get comfortable, to even the sound of her breathing.
But she couldn't quite sleep yet. Even if she was in the most comfortable place, she was simply content. Letting her her hand softly stroke Weiss's stomach, she spoke softly. "Anything you wanna talk about, now we're completely alone?"
"No," she breathed softly, smiling to herself as her eyes were closed, fingers running over the textured surface of Yang's cast. "The last thing I want to do is ruin this… perfect moment with my girlfriend. We have all the time in the world."
"That we do. So we'll have more cuddles, as well." She leant forward to press a soft kiss on the top of her hair, nuzzling into it again and getting comfortable. Somehow she could tell there was something still on her mind. A sense she didn't think she'd be able to have for a while. "So come on, spill it. Don’t want you censoring yourself."
"Well…" She raised the hand gently, careful of the cast as she pressed her lips to the fingers. "Not that I'm angry about it, or even that upset, or anything. I'm just… curious why you didn't tell me about your medication."
"…Oh." This wasn't a subject that Yang had expected. She knew Weiss was well aware of her hormones, but not that she knew of the antidepressants. But even though she wanted to run a mile away from the discussion, or ignore it completely, she accepted her fate. "I just… I didn't want you to worry. You did enough worrying about me this past week."
"I understand. I do, I completely understand that instinct. You wanted to protect me, and worry about dealing with this situation later." Unable to remain still, she rolled over until she was nose-to-nose with her girlfriend, eyes open and serious. "But that isn't what I want. I don't want to be protected by everyone all the time; it's not real life, I'm not a child. You know what Winter did, don't you?"
For a moment, Yang's eyes met hers. But the instant the question was asked, they looked elsewhere while she breathed out deeply through her nose. "Yeah… I know what she did." Though then she looked back up to her again, shuffling in the sofa slightly to try and get comfortable once more. "But this is… different. Winter's wasn't her fault, it was what people were doing. This is… this is my head. My fight, and I can’t expect anybody else to tag in."
"Wrong. I am your girlfriend, your partner. It is our fight." Moisture threatened in Weiss's eyes, but she fought that down. Now was not the time to go to pieces. "But I can't help you fight it if you keep things from me. I can't trust you if you can't trust me."
It didn't stop Yang from crying, however. Yet again she started to avoid eye contact, looking downward while her eyes were starting to water again. In truth, there was more to it than simple protection. There was fear. And that much was evident when she leant forward, pressing her forehead against Weiss's.
"I trust you with my life." She managed to keep it together to speak at least. "But I don't trust myself, that's all. I didn't wanna tell you, because I didn't want you to think what happened here last week would happen again. I wanted you to know I can handle it."
"You can. I have faith in you. But there's no reason you should have to handle it by yourself, just so I don't have to worry… that's stupid." When Yang only continued to cry quietly, Weiss pressed her lips up against the underside of each of her eyes. "Don't keep me in a fluffy fantasy world while you suffer alone. That's not going to make me any happier."
Finally she started to open them again, looking back into Weiss's. She was right. Fighting this battle alone would do more harm than good, and would simply leave her in the same state she was last week. She was lucky to have been pulled out once, to do the same thing alone would be not just silly, but insane. So in the end, she pressed a kiss against Weiss's forehead again, then huddled up to her closely. Still grateful she could have that after so long. However, she couldn't help but let out a small chuckle.
"God… What a catch, huh? Trans and depressed. Lucky you."
"I believe what you meant to say was, 'A badass bodyguard with the sexiest dick of all time, who cares so much about not worrying me that she'd try to handle a debilitating mental illness all on her own.' Yeah. Yeah, I'm pretty lucky." The smile was cautiously bemused, hoping they could at least joke about it that much.
Managing to free her arm to wipe the few spare tears away from her eyes, she let out a small breathy chuckle, smiling contentedly again as she leant in to peck at her lips again quickly. "You're incredible, you know? Even without being a popstar."
"And so are you." Her smile fell away as she leaned up to kiss Yang, doing so twice. "We both came pretty close to losing each other twice… and the second time was during the same disastrous concert. So yeah, after all that craziness, worrying about our lives? I wasn't really mad about Sun; you can do whatever you want. With him, with Blake… as long as I have you at the end of the day, that's what I need. And getting what I need is all that matters to me."
"You know all I need is you, right?" she asked, her uncasted hand finding hers as she threaded her fingers through them, holding her gently. "We were joking. As amazing as Blake and Sun are, and as much as I wanna thank them for this week and also keep them in my life, you're the only one I want to kiss, the only one I wanna bang. The only one I…" Then she was beginning to trail off. "No, that's dumb."
"Say it. Don't worry about it being dumb. If it is, I'll laugh at you and then we'll go to sleep." The last part was added with a smirk.
"Alright… Promise you won't freak out, or think I'm being an idiot, or whatever." When Weiss only continued to look and smirk, she continued the trail of thought. "The only one that I actually wanna settle down with. Like get a house, or apartment or something; a little Corgi or a cat of our own, even…" Swallowing a moment, she took a moment before she continued. "Even a kid, eventually, maybe."
"A kid?!" Bringing her emotions back under control, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. This was definitely a completely new area for them. "Okay, w-well… we'll talk about a cat. I like cats. The other things might come later. However…"
But then she stopped, a coy look flitting across her face. She had been about to say something, but decided to keep it to herself for the moment.
"What?" Yang tilted her head, noticing it was Weiss who was trailing off this time. Innocently chuckling, she squeezed her hand. "Oh come on, it can't be dumber than what I just said!"
"Nope." Leaning up, Weiss kissed the end of Yang's nose cheekily, then nuzzled it against her shoulder. "It's a surprise."
"Awwwh don't be like thaaaat," whe whinged, looking down at the mess of silver hair that was now nuzzled into her shoulder. And all she could do was squeeze her hand again.
"No way! I intended this to be a surprise and it's going to stay that way, Xiao Long! You made me wait an extra month to give it to you, so you can wait another week!"
"Ugh. Fine. I suppose I can manage." She finally gave in, settling into a comfortable position. And only once she was nuzzled against the top of Weiss's head did she feel truly comfortable. And truly content. Even if it was on a simple sofa.
"Yang?"
Cuddling slightly more into her, she sleepily replied, "Yeah?"
"I'm glad you're still with me. And I'm sorry about what happened with my sister, and about Neon, and… and I love you so much!" The last word was punctuated with a soft little sob, one that was so quiet that Weiss likely could have prevented it… but she simply didn't have it within herself to do so.
Yang wasn't exactly awake enough to reply with a whole speech, but she could at least repeat the words she spoke on camera. The words she now had no problem saying at all.
"And I love you, too. With all my heart."

Sunshower 6
The day after a party, everyone’s worse nightmare. Even with more to come indefinitely, faunus weren’t immune to the effects of partying too hard. Morning had finally kissed Menagerie and those with jobs were the first to witness or feel the shock of Blake’s Homecoming. Streets and houses were littered with festivities along with plenty of red solo cups. Officer’s were up first to deal with any passed out people that were anywhere but their home. All in all, the first night was a hit; people’s spirits seemed to be through the roof. The wave of pleasure was sure to carry over to tonight.
It didn’t take long for the outside world to start rousing people from sleep; including Ilia. Slowly her eyes open to the dim sunlight hitting them; doing no good for her massive hangover. Things are fuzzy. Not to mention.....aching? Common for downing five too many but this felt different. Since when does drinking hurt your legs? Her right hand rubbed the bridge of her nose as she tried to adjust to being being sober again.
Ilia:(Ugh, where am I? Did I......fall asleep? Am I still asleep? No, too much pain to be a dream. Even my own thoughts sound way too loud...) *rubs her temples*
Ilia:(Okay, if I can survive the white fang then I push through this hangover and open my eyes to the very, very bright lights. Easy as one.....two.....thre-
‘Zzzzzzzz’
Ilia:Was that.....snoring?
Her eyes opened one at a time to lessen the pain. It took a few seconds to see clearly but eventually she did; still, Ilia needed a minute to process what she saw. The interior design told her she was in Blake’s house. The room wasn’t really messy which told her no one had come in during the party. The only visible mess were clothes.....? Her clothes at that. Both hands shot up to her head to feel that her hair was down as well. Finally a gasp was let out as her mind was finally catching up.
Ilia:(I’m in Blake’s house still!!! Not just that, but naked two!? What the actual hell happened last night!!? Party, drank, drank some more, also cried I think? Then I got fresh air with-)
‘Zzzzzzzz’
Ilia:......
Everything in her entire body told her to not look to her left. Pieces of memories she kept recalling demanded to know if they were being remembered right however. Something Ilia knew she most likely was since it would be just her luck. Time felt like it stopped as she finally turned to see the source of the snoring. Sure enough, Sun laid peacefully next to her with his head facing away from her. His short was off and she could spot it near the foot of the bed; along with the rest of his clothes. Brown skin turned white from the shock as freckles went straight to pink from embarrassment. Sun Wukong was currently naked and sleeping next to her who is also naked but now completely awake. Even the hangover took a backseat to this dump of information.
Ilia:.........
Ilia:(Oh fuck.......)
The boy was motionless; almost unnerving motionless. A dark thought started to grow in her head so gently she pulled the cover about an inch down and listened to his heart. Ilia’s nerves weren’t calmed to discover that he sounded and looked find. Now she could focus on major crisis. Leaving. She slid herself out from the side of covers and nearly dropped to the wooden floor. Blaming only the hangover would be a lie for the state of her poor motor skills yet thinking of other reasons why moving was a chore lead to topics she didn’t want to address at the moment. One problem at a time. Right now she needed to be presentable. It took some time but she managed dress herself for the most part. The ponytail was neglected as well as the jacket she wore.
Full stealth mode was happening right now. Each foot gently went in front of the other as she watched him to make sure he was still asleep. There was something unusual about the way he slept that Ilia couldn’t figure out. Oh well. She’d think about it later. Right now she is just relieved to have reached the door knob. At least she was until it started twisting from the other side. Someone was coming in...
Ilia:(No no no no no no no!!!!!!!! Crap what do I-)
*door opens*
Kali:*whispering* Pssst Sun? It’s morn.....ing? Ilia?
Ilia:.......I can explain! Things got crazy and we weren’t thinking! I was dr-
Kali:*covers Ilia’s mouth* Relax, you look like you’re about to faint. I didn’t even know you were at the party. Guess I know why *looks at bed*
Ilia:Please don’t mention this to anyone.
Kali:I wouldn’t even dream of it sweetie. I can’t tell you how crazy parties got back in me and Ghira’s day. My lips are sealed. *steps aside*
Ilia wouldn’t call herself a religious person, but Kali had to be a gift from above. She couldn’t help but hug the older woman as she walked out the room.
Kali:Oh, one more thing.
Ilia:What?
Kali:Blake and Yang are passed out on the couch and Ghira is making coffee in the kitchen so......might wanna use the balcony.
Ilia:I’m getting real sick of that balcony. Thank you.
She made a hard right as soon as she entered the hallway towards the balcony. Ilia was starting to miss simply walking through a doorway. It was time to put her skills to the test. Carefully she hoisted herself up on the railing and looked at the closet tree, then the ground.
Ilia:Should be easy enough.
Her foot slips right as she jumps around she hits the ground below. The only pain she feels is the bruised ego and what can only be described as her brain bouncing around. The fatigue of it all made the ground feel oddly comfortable. She took a moment to stare up at the sky; the shade from the balcony blocking the cruel sun. Soon she’d have to move.
Kali:*looks down* Are you okay?
Ilia:Honestly, not my worst screw up in recent months.
Kali:Fair enough. You forgot your scroll up here by the way.
Ilia:Probably for the best considering what just happened. Kali can you do me favor? I need you to make a call.
xxx
Neptune:.......*sips coffee*
Neptune:Can you walk.
Ilia:Yeah
Neptune:Can you walk well?
Ilia:No......got a feeling I twisted my ankle a little. Among other stuff.
Neptune:And you don’t ask Kali for first aid because.....?
Ilia:I am not going back in that house right now. Just help me up please? My aura will fix it soon enough.*raises arm* Mind being my crutch?
Neptune:I could just carry you on my back?
Ilia:Neptune I need just a little dignity right now so if you could just get under my arm and then stand up please.
Neptune:But your so short. I’d have to be hunched over and-
Ilia:You dined and dash yesterday! Can you please just-
Neptune:Fine! *supports her* happy?
Ilia:A little. Can we go to your motel room? My home is way too far of a walk.
Neptune:Fine by mean. I’d get lost anyways. *starts walking*
Ilia:Thank you...
Neptune:Yep. So.....any reason why you look vanilla swirl with pink sprinkles?
Ilia:It’s been an overwhelming forty minutes since I woke up.
Neptune:Does it have something to do with sleeping with my best friend?
Ilia:*eyes widened* What are you talk- why would I....sigh
Neptune:Not even denying it. Don’t worry about responding to it right now. Just enjoy the fresh air and walk.
Ilia:(easier said then done.)
The duo hobbled in silence for awhile. It would look suspicious if there wasn’t plenty of other people still getting their barrings. Neptune kept his eyes forward to look out for anything. Ilia was busy zoning out. The initial shock of everything had finally warn off and her skin went back to its natural color; except for her freckles. The darker spots were still pink and only getting pinker as she hopelessly tried to think of anything but last night. Blood rushed to her face out of embarrassment.
Neptune:Heads up Ilia.
Ilia:Hmmm? *looks up* Oh......
A menagerie officer stands before them with their hands on their hips; a fox tail wraps around their slim frame as they stare down the two.
Neptune:Who’s your foxy friend Ilia?
Cop:That’s racist....
Neptune:Crap! I’m sorry!!! You know I kinda thought it was stupid to say out loud but-
Ilia:They’re joking around. Neptune this is Judy. Judy this is Neptune, he’s a bit dumb but I’ve been told he’s pretty valid as a person.
Judy:Haha, he must be if Ghira hasn’t thrown in the ocean yet.
Neptune:He....he does that?
Judy:Only to pests. For the record, I’d play it say and refrain from animal puns or jokes. Any other faunus might’ve gotten a bit rowdy.
Neptune:Noted. So....any reason someone as beautiful as yourself came strolling this way?
Judy:Just helping where I could when suddenly I see Miss. Bomb Defuser strolling by. You haven’t checked in with me in a couple of days. I don’t have to remind you that multiple cops and gaurds are still twitchy about your circumstances do I?
Neptune:Wait, is Judy-
Ilia:Yes Neptune, Judy is my parole officer.
Judy:Come now, you aren’t on parole. It just makes a lot of people feel better if you can be accounted for regularly by the authorities and sometimes help around the place to rebuild your self ima-
Ilia:Judy.......it’s parole.
Judy:........*nods* Yeah I guess it is, sorry.
Neptune:Well if that’s the case I can vouch for her and say for the pass few days she’s done nothing but help organize the party and decided to indulge in the festivities last night. You can even find a copy of all the decorations she’s done at the Belladonna estate signed off by Ghira himself.
Ilia:!!!!?
Judy:Woah, well that makes things easier. Thank you Neptune. I guess you really are valid.
Ilia:You’re telling me.
Judy:Anyways, I’m gonna head out but actually go check in next time so we don’t have to think about sending a search party. *walking away*
Ilia:I’ll think about it.
Judy:Ilia.....
Ilia:Goodbye Judy! Start walking Neptune before we here a long winded speech about the wall.
Neptune:*walks* Judy seems nice.
Ilia:Surprised you barely flirted through that conversation. I was waiting for you to make a mistake like most people do around Judy.
Neptune:Mistake? What mistake?
Ilia:If you haven’t figured it out yet then who am I to tell?
Neptune:*smiles*
Ilia:What?
Neptune:You’ve calmed down from the looks of it.
Ilia:Oh, I guess I have.
Neptune:Good, because we’re here.
Motels were something menagerie was getting used to since Haven. Plenty of faunus has stopped by to figure out if they also wanted to move in and even important figures across Remnant wanted to discuss human and faunus relations as a new organization formed. So a motel half the size of Blake’s home was built a little ways west of the main part of the island. Here people could easily access the beach or look inward to all the people and get a glimpse of what a regular day here looks like.
Neptune took pride and being the first human to have an indefinite stay at the beautiful place; even Ilia hasn’t been around it much. He lead her to his room there was a back porch that faced the sea with a hammock. The room itself was wood furnished with a decent sized bed in the middle and two night standing on each side. The golden brown look of it all gave off a vibe of warm flames and deep heritage. Neptune guided her to the hammock then went back inside to grab some pills and water bottles before coming back out. He didn’t have to say anything before she grabbed both of them and open the lid.
Neptune:I’m guessing your hangover headache was really bad.
Ilia:You guessed correctly. Thank you by the way, for all this. Especially with Judy.
Neptune:Someone had to keep track of supplies since you and Sun made a competition.
Ilia:Makes sense. By the way.....Judy is-
Neptune:I figured it out on the way here.
Ilia:Okay, I was gonna feel a bit bad if I didn’t say something.
Neptune:Trust me, I’ve developed a sense for these things after meeting you. Still, they are pretty cool. Probably knows how to party.
Ilia:Don’t tell your date from last night that, or is she already out of the picture? This room is surprisingly clean for a playboy after a party. House keeping works fast.
Neptune:House keeping only had to dust. Nothing happened in this room last night. I took that girl home after the fireworks because boy was she out of it. I tried calling Sun to let him know where I was but he never answered. That’s when a gut feeling told me to look for high points and I saw you two on the roof.
Ilia:Oh......
Neptune:Didn’t think much of it. Even after I saw him pick you up and lead you inside. There was a little chatter about a spunky drunk girl that told of some creep inside with the help of a monkey faunus so I assumed that you were thoroughly wasted; which makes sense after what you did at the restaurant. Sun was with you and both of you were pretty bummed out the whole night so I thought “they’ll probably go ditch the thing and I’ll see him later.” But then I didn’t......
Ilia:Uuuuuuummmmmmm.....
Neptune:Sun is a big boy and knows the place so I didn’t think much of it. I’d catch up with him tomorrow morning. Tomorrow becomes today and as I reach for my scroll expecting apology messages from him, it’s Kali telling me to come pick you up from the house as quickly and discreetly as possible. Now I hate to make assumptions, but I’ve done my fair share of unsuccessful balcony exits. What they all have in common is what I did the night before to prompt such a hasty exit.
Ilia:What are you? Some kind of jr detective?
Neptune:When it comes to crimes of the heart I find all the clues.
Ilia:It’s not a crime of the heart it’s just.....ugh. *lays down* Gods I feel stupid. What possessed me to think sleeping with Sun was a good idea to push away pain.
Neptune:I know your teenage years aren’t exactly normal but that’s about as normal as teenage thought processes go. He was depressed, you were depressed, tons of alcohol, and common ground found at a late night party. I’m not saying I expected this because I didn’t, but makes sense.
Ilia:You don’t understand Neptune! What happened shouldn’t have happened, but it did and now I just feel....weird. I can’t remember all of last night right now but I remember a decent amount. Things I wish I didn’t.
Neptune:Like?
Ilia:I said things. Personal things I don’t share freely. I was hurt but things felt, okay? Yet so wrong at the same time.
Neptune:*frowns* Do you feel used?
Ilia:No, heavens no. If anything I sort of feel like I used him a little. Which was not my intention.
Neptune:What was your intention?
Ilia:I DON’T KNOW!!!!!! I just remember feeling..... something. Whatever the hell it was....
.........
Neptune:Do you....regret it?
Ilia:What?
Neptune:Do you regret last night?
Ilia:I’m, not exactly sure.
Neptune:Well maybe start there and everything else might fall into place? I’m not saying this isn’t a big deal or anything but trust me when I say this does not have to be some staggering revelation. Beer has a way of blurring that line.
Ilia:Sigh, I’m not prepared to talk to Sun about this.
Neptune:Lucky for you, he normally blacks-out when he gets too drunk.
Ilia:Seriously?
Neptune:Yeah he doesn’t like drinking. I think he only did it because of how upset he was.
Ilia:Oh......*turns blue*
Neptune:Uh oh, what’s wrong?
Ilia:Even if he doesn’t remember, it’s wrong to keep that from him right?
Neptune:Tricky question. Personally, I’d tell him if you feel weird about it. Sort out your feelings on the situation and if it meant nothing to you and was just something that happened then by all means, I’ll keep the secret.
Ilia:But.....?
Neptune:Blake and Sun are only friends with compassionate people, so I know last night meant something to you in one shape or form. I’ll be here figure it out if you want and anything else you might need. That way you can tell him with a clear head.
The more Neptune spoke, the more Ilia had to keep rethinking her description of him. Sun wasn’t just hyping him up whenever he told her that Neptune has more heart than she realized. His words, his smile, everything he did today made that statement....valid.
Ilia:I’m sorry Neptune.
Neptune:For what?
Ilia:Downplaying you constantly. You’re actually really sweet. So I’m sorry.
Neptune:Oh *red* well don’t go spreading that around alright. Some of these girls are really buying the whole cool yet distant act I’m putting on.
Ilia:*snickers* Alright, I guess I can do that. Hey is it alright if I can just lay here for a bit and just relax?
Neptune:Sure, it’ll help get my lien’s worth out of this place. *going inside*
Ilia:How much is this room?
Neptune:Too much Ilia! It’s too much! At least the water is free, I hope.
Ilia:(Funny, forgot to call himself compassionate as well. Maybe that’s why Sun likes him?)
Neptune:*scrolling* Hmm?
*one new message*
Sun: “Hey man, sorry about last night.”
Neptune: “Don’t sweat it dude.”
Sun: “So uh....can I come over? I gotta talk to you.”
Neptune:........
Neptune: “About?”
Sun: “About something that happened last night.”
Neptune:*turns around*
Ilia:*sleeping peacefully*
Neptune: “How about we meet somewhere for breakfast instead? Just to get out and about?”
Sun: “Sounds like a plan. Thanks bro”
Neptune:(Well I guess this is happening now.)
xxx
Sun:*holding Ilia’s scrunchy*......... oh boy.

Qrowin week submission day 1
Family feast
Winter sat alone in the cold empty Atlas base. She was tasked with keeping it secure during the Non-descript winter holiday while the rest of the troops and supplies were moved back to Atlas.
The base was a relatively small one just south of Vale and not that far from the island of the Xiao Long home, nevertheless it used to be a pretty important stronghold before the fall of beacon, now it was moot point. They had already moved most everything out, Her main objective was to prevent looters and scavengers from taking what was left.
It wasn't that she had anywhere to go anyways, there was no way she would ever go home and risk scrutiny from her father as always. Being in the military they usually held a short gathering where there were festive rations and decorations, nothing like the overly extravagant parties her father would throw.
No, she was alone.
The only sound coming from the small empty halls was the ticking of a clock that was left for some reason down the hall. This was the life she had chosen, and this is how it would be.
She had planned to spend this year with Qrow at the Xiao Long homestead but she knew deep down it was too good to be true.
She was cold
--
As soon as Qrow’s foot touched the porch of the Xiao Long home he was instantly tackled by Ruby seeming to materialize out of nowhere.
Qrow -Hey easy there kiddo, you hit harder than most Grimm hehe
Ruby -Uncle Qrowwwwww!... hi
Qrow -Heya kid, where’s your dad? Who else is here?
Ruby -Dad is helping Yang in the shed, Weiss, Blake and Jaune are here, Nora and Ren are upstairs getting ready, thats it so far.
Qrow -haha no Winter? It’s not like her to be late…
Ruby -You didn’t see her letter? She has to watch some old Atlas base, she can’t come.
Qrow looked over the note and frowned a little bit, at least if she had some other troops or something there he would have felt a bit better, but alone?
It's not that she couldn’t take care of herself, Boy does he know she can, but being alone… it was something that both he and Winter finally could be without.
--
They had only finally confessed to each other during a duel which left them both breathless and at a draw. Winter’s cold hard deminer finally broke down as she started to laugh, it wasn't a shrill cockey laugh as he had expected, it was a beautiful warm laugh that seemed to make the world brighten up a little. It put Qrow at ease and the uncontrollable urge to laugh as well washed over him.
Qrow -Hey Ice Queen
Winter still laughing a bit -hmm?
Qrow -how much longer can we keep this up?
Winter -I…
Qrow - we are evenly matched, all we do is fight, your laugh is perfect and I don't think I want to keep fighting a flock of angry mini nevermors every time I see you.
Winter -Oh I definitely had the upper han.. Wait what (a look of curious surprise came over her face and He saw a slight twinkle in her eyes), you think what?
Qrow smirking -I just don’t think that was proper form hehe, you wanna grab a drink or something? (he said reaching out his hand to help her up)
Winter (grabbing his and and pulling him down to her) -I think we’ve earned it haha
--
Qrow handed the letter back to Ruby
Qrow -thanks pipsqueak (he said with a melancholy smile)
Ruby noticed this and grabbed his arm -come on in its cooollldd
As the two walked inside and was created by the warm house with smells of holiday food and cheer filling the air (*1)
Later Tai and Yang came back in dressed in ugly holiday garb with lights flashing through the santa grimm laden sweaters,  with overszed bells, causing Ruby to fall out of her chair laughing, making Weiss crack her first real smile of the evening.
Qrow seemed distant for the entire event which was unspokenly noticed by the Tai, Yang and Ruby., the three huddled together and hatched a scheme.
--
Winter had thought of calling Qrow to see how things were but the tower was already taken down by the Atlas soldiers earlier that day.
She sighed, there was just enough rations and her own personal supply of hot coco (*2) to make a nice warm meal to pass the time, she was a terrible cook as She and Qrow had learned the hard way… The thought of him made her a bit sad actually, she hadn't expected it being a hardened soldier, but there was a freedom when he was around, she could be herself and not be reprimanded for it.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a loud bang that echoed through the empty base followed by the shuffling of feet in one of the halls.
Great, she thought, more scavengers… at least this will keep my mind off things
She rose to her feet and placed the coco on the table next to her. Grabbing her weapon she headed for the door.
It made a loud creak as it was opened, surely heard by the invaders.
Before she took her first step a OOF and a thud were heard through the halls, causing winter to pause in her tracks.
--
After Blake had tied up the scavenger Qrow snuck up ahead to see Winter standing frozen looking in the opposite direction
Qrow, you know Ice Queen… I get you have an image to uphold but you could always turn on some heat in here jeez
Winter spin around and immediately attack without a second thought charging forward until she saw who was standing there.  She tried to stop but ended up tackle hugging Qrow and pinning him against the wall, her sword clambering down next to her.
Winter- QROW HOW DID YOU, (she turned beat red as she realized she still had him pinned to the wall
Qrow Smirking *3 -you know, I would have waited till the bedroom to pin me to the wall, but this’ll do hehe
The rest of the party tried to hide their giggles but couldn’t contain themselves (except Weiss who was glaring at Qrow menacingly)
Winter quickly got off Qrow and brushed her self of trying to maintain any scrap of professionalism but dropped it with a sigh, she could be herself now, surrounded by friends
--
After an hour they had set up a nice cozy gathering in the mess hall, tiny lights and food and all,
Qrow looked at Winter laughing with Weiss who was still a bit red in the face from her and Ruby’s Mistletoe mishap (*4)
He had never been so at peace himself, even just in her company he felt warm and welcome, he walked over to where Ruby Yang and Tai were sitting
Qrow -hey… I just wanted to say.. Thanks, you guys really did me a favor tonight
Tai, oh Qrow, she's almost a part of the family already, just don't make ME and uncle too soon alright
This caused Qrow to turn beat red
Winter overhearing this walked over and wrapped her arms around Qrow and placed her head on his shoulder
Winter - no promises mister Xiao Long, wrapping tighter around Qrow making him turn even more red
--
Over by the Atas fire place (*5) in the corner
Jaune turned to Nora and Ren,
Jaune -huh, I always figured Qrow would be making Her blush
Nora - Oh please you saw her stand on his sword in that one fight, pg euphemisms are CCrRAAZZYY
Jaune -wha..?
Ren -don’t even try
--
In the closet the scavenger squirmed against his ropes,
Scavenger - mmmmph mph mmph hmhpmh mhh pmhmh (*6)
--
In the end all gathered around the table and had a great evening, when it was over the family loaded up everything back into Tai’s car (before it was destroyed in that one chibi episode) and headed off
Qrow stayed behind to help clean up a bit more and of course to stay with Winter a bit longer
Winter stopped what she was doing and looked up at Qrow with tears in her left eye
Winter -Qrow…. Thank you, you don’t know how much I needed this
Qrow -It was Tai yang and Ruby’s idea… but I’m just glad to see you Snow angel (he smirked) ((jaune internally screeching in the distance))
Winter -You don’t have to go you know… I mean I am allowed to have guests, if you want to…
Qrow stopped her with a kiss
Qrow looking deep into her eyes -I’m not going anywhere
Winter turned deep red and seemed to melt in his arms
They stayed like that for a bit until Winter snapped up and tightened her grip on him with narrow eyes and a demanding pose
Winter -If you think our last “fight” was tough, you aren't ready for this one she said walking towards what was at the time her room gesturing Qrow with one finger
Qrow now legitimately kinda frightened for his safety -ooooohhh boy hehe
With a swig of his flask and a quick hop to the door, (((I leave this part of the story because tumblr and morals and i'm writing this so I don’t have to study for my AI test)))
--
Back at the Xiao Long home the gang was unpacking the car
Ruby -I think we really did a good thing for Uncle Qrow
Tai - hehe I haven't seen him that happy or embarrassed over a girl since Beacon
Yang -where is he anyways, I thought he was just saying goodbye
Weiss had the realization set in that not only were her sister and Ruby’s Uncle likely tearing down the atlas base, but that she could be Ruby’s Aunt soon
She immediately dragged Ruby back under the mistletoe
Weiss -No way am I waiting till this is even more weird come here
--
Back in the closet of the base the bag falls off the “scavengers head”
Oscar -Guys… I just wanted to join you… hello…
Ozpin -I told you we should have brought Fruit cake
Oscar -...

Murphy’s Law: ... --- ... ---... / ... - --- .--. / --- ..- .-. / ... . -..-
Rated M
Story summary: Because anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
Mutual pining, mutual sexiness. Now with attempts at plot and is currently in the fluffy mess stage. Slight AU.
Chapter summary: 4. Blake and Yang sit down for some real talk post-Schnee intervention. Real talk may or may not include arguing about proper English and include the debut appearance of rando rude-jerk-face guy.

To her surprise, Blake heard her partner returning from her Schnee-hunt within ten minutes. At least Yang satisfied her blood-lust; the actual lust had been put on the back burner in favour of some well-deserved revenge.
“Back so soon?” came her question, “I didn’t take you as the merciful type.”
Yang gave her a ’what kind of savage do you think I am?’ look. Alright, fine. Blake knew Yang was literally the nicest, caring person – only rivalled by Ruby – especially towards Weiss. They were all a family. Yang and Weiss just didn’t always…get along twenty-four seven.
“In that particular situation,” Blake added.
She motioned Yang back to the bed, moving closer as the now smug blonde thumped down perpendicular to the edge. Yang always was going against the norm (compared to herself); part of her charm, something Blake found oddly attractive. Totally had nothing to do with the fact she was half undressed at that moment.
Yang shifted to clasp her hands behind her head. “Well, Blakey, once Weiss agreed to my terms, I let her live.”
Now curious, the faunus’ ears fluttered as it was realised what exactly that meant. Yang took a bribe – and coming from Weiss, it could be good.
Blake gave a happy hum as she lay her head on Yang’s shoulder, “Care to share?”
Yang happily explained, “I told her I wanted an all-expenses paid honeymoon for me and you to somewhere nice and secluded; where we could have plenty of time and no interruptions, to make up for the wonderful moment she just ruined with her insipid lunch plans. Did I mention she would pay for it?”
Of all the things she could have taken from that, Blake was most intrigued about there being a honeymoon. They weren’t even technically dating. Even if they had been dancing around each other for years. Blake propped herself up to look at Yang with a questioning eye.
“Are you proposing to me?”
Slight shock washed over Yang’s face. “Uh,” she muttered, clearing her throat, “no? Just something to keep in mind when I do, I guess.” Her expression read as slightly embarrassed; she had forgotten that the specifics of her bargaining included them having to get married.
The poor woman was just trying to have some fun; Blake didn’t have the heart to seriously discuss the matter of marriage. For whose sake; she’d rather leave unsaid.
Blake made her tone inherently teasing, “Ignoring that you answered my question with a pretty vague ‘no’, I’m not sure if I would have said yes anyway,” she shrugged as her finger idly traced over Yang’s collarbones, “I didn’t even know you had ‘insipid’ in your vocabulary.”
“Oh, please,” Yang huffed proudly, “I’m well educated, Blake!”
Now that, she thought, was a little bit ironic. “You said ‘you and me’, though.”
Yang didn’t see the problem, “So?”
Blake tapped Yang’s chest. “You’re supposed to say, ‘you and I’.”
“That’s what I said,” Yang gestured between them, “you and me.”
“No, ‘you and me’ is not proper English,” Blake shook her head. Well educated her fine ass, she thought.
“I’m not following you, Blake,” Yang said with almost an insanely obvious amount of naiveté. She loved to argue with Weiss, but she loved to argue even more with her partner. Yang had to keep talking in these types of situations. Pyrrha called it a ‘self-destructive’ habit, Nora called it a ‘fun’ habit, she called it a ‘fun, if not a little bit obnoxious’ habit.
The little shit was doing this on purpose, Blake knew; again, she poked the stubborn dragon, this time pointedly to the words, “You and I!”
They had both returned to lay on their sides as Yang jabbed her finger into Blake’s sternum in retaliation. Yang couldn’t stop. It just kept coming up like word vomit. “You and I won’t be getting married if this is what you’re going to say to a proposal.”
“But you said you weren’t proposing!” Blake exclaimed, her hand flicking the air in exasperation. A shit eating grin was Blake’s reward. Or punishment, in this case. The trademark for ‘stupid shit eating grin’ was surely already filed at this point.
“Well,” Yang said noncommittally, “not now I’m not.”
This discussion was entirely pointless, if Blake wasn’t trying to make a point about proper English. She didn’t even know she wanted a proposal until now. Except she didn’t. Mostly.
“Shut up. I’ll propose to you with correct English, and you can answer with whatever you want in your barbaric vernacular.” Blake could tell Yang had no idea what vernacular meant by the brief and confused blink she received.
Quickly, Yang feigned an uninterested manner, “And what if I say no?”
“You wouldn’t dare,” the Faunus challenged hotly.
Yang took Blake’s words seriously, and then some. Like hell she would dare to refuse the one person she was pining for since…she could remember. A long time. It’s not like she was aware that she was ass over tits for Blake this whole time. Well, she wouldn’t admit that she had that suspicion to anyone, at least.
Casually, Yang relented. “Nah, I wouldn’t turn you down. A girl’s gotta settle down sometime.”
But it was too late, for Blake was already on the train to Sassville; stopping all stations passive-aggressively, “Oh, so you’re settling for me?”
Shit. Yang became panicked. “No!”
Employing her acting talents, though they were barely existent, Blake whined melodramatically “Woe is me! I’m heartbroken-”
Oh, no, it was coming up again. Word vomit. Yang interrupted abruptly, “I love you!”
“Yang, I am truly devasta-,” Blake’s face went such a deep shade of red, Yang thought she was about to explode. Blake jolted to sit upright.
Please, no actual vomit, Yang begged internally. She messed up, okay. She just goddamn shit…goddamn messed up really…goddamn shit bad. Goddamn shit, goddamn!
She sat up to join Blake, quietly adding, “Does it help if I’m completely serious about that?”
Blake couldn’t look at Yang. How could she? This was much more disconcerting than she imagined it would be. Even if she kind of already knew they were completely in love with each other; saying it and hearing it were different to thinking about it. This was, although rushed and following on from two failed attempts at having sex, the closest thing Blake had experienced to a serious relationship. And it was a declaration of love – something you had to be incredibly dedicated to be able to say.
“It does help,” she slowly admitted, somewhat awkwardly laughing, “who says romance is dead?”
She heard Yang mumble a jumble of words that seemed to sound like, ‘they should if that’s the way dumb people like me tell girls that they love them’.
As if she wouldn’t pick it up with her hearing; Blake asked Yang to repeat herself anyway, “What was that?”
“You don’t seem very shocked, I said.”
A sigh left Blake’s mouth unbidden as she chose to ignore the cover up. “That’s because I don’t think I am. You planning our honeymoon on a whim like it was second nature kinda gave me an,” she paused, considering what would the best explanation, “an inkling.”
“Ah. You were always the perceptive one, Blakey.” As the still nervous woman finally glanced at Yang, the blonde was giving her the strangest look.
Not strange as in she looked odd, but strange as in Blake sensed her love from one simple glimpse. This was too typical. Yang made her flustered, pissed off, have the urge to do things probably unspeakable to her – her best friend – and feel in her heart why she was so prepared to, or have no choice but to do all those things in the first place.
In the space of less than a day.
What a mess you’ve become, Blake Belladonna, she chided herself. A hot mess.
She gently bumped Yang’s shoulder, “Don’t sell yourself short, Yang. You’re all I’ll ever need,” Blake gently kissed the now smiling woman’s cheek. Because boy, was she grinning like she’d won the lottery.
Blake felt the need to say it. “You look like you’ve won the lottery.”
“If I had known I won the lottery, I wouldn’t have made Weiss promise to pay for a honeymoon for you and m-,” Yang swiftly corrected herself, “you and I.”
An effort such as that to accommodate and learn from the bookworm’s English lessons; Blake felt a little victorious for it. She’d had a good few minutes, after all.
She loved Yang. Utterly and completely. “Yang, I,” but it was still so difficult to say it, “I, I-” Blake fumbled; trying to spit it out was not working.
“…I am not good at this.”
Yang took Blake’s quivering hand in her own. “Take your time.”
“Yang,” yet the three words would not leave her mouth. They were in her head but they wouldn’t formulate into speech. Instead, Blake was just uttering nonsensical sounds.
She began to look irritated with herself, “This is unfair. I’m thinking it, I want to say it. Yang I-”
Her failed efforts were silenced as Yang pressed her lips tenderly to Blake’s. As if she were trying to take the words right out of her mouth. Maybe that would work. Because she couldn’t say it for shit, despite wanting to.
And Blake kissed her back, because maybe, if she tried, Yang would understand what she meant.
Yang pulled away shortly thereafter, but only slightly. It didn’t matter to her if Blake didn’t say what she had; she blurted it out when it was uncalled for. It could have gone a lot worse, though. Yang – one, universe – approximately one million…alright, it wasn’t a good record.
Time for damage control. “I know, Blake.”
“I’m sorry- wait, you what?”
Apparently Yang still had some form of surprise in her. Admittedly she was perceptive just like Blake; likely picked up from her in their time together, or she just cared enough to realise that Blake hadn’t had the easiest time trusting people – humans in particular – and that distrust had probably set itself in her subconscious so profoundly that it tried to defend her even when she didn’t need it to.
“You’re forgetting that I know you better than anybody. Besides, I didn’t choose an appropriate time to bring this up, and it’s up to you if, and when, you want to continue it,”
A tell-tale sign that she had hit the nail on the head was Blake’s faunus ears folding in embarrassment, which she tried to hide by snuggling her head into the crook of her quite perceptive partner’s neck.
“I wouldn’t be against it if you wanted to show me what you meant to say, though.”
The blunt statement provoked a muffled scoff and a, “No, thank you,” from the still hiding master of stealth.
Blake didn’t miss the sound of disappointment that originated in the hollow of the neck she was conveniently next to. It wasn’t her fault that she had lost all drive and hope that they could accomplish anything close to what Yang was probably imagining. Goddamn Weiss had better pay for a honeymoon after that stunt.
She lay an apologetic kiss on Yang’s throat, making sure it was not insinuating she had instantly changed her mind. “I’m suddenly apprehensive at the idea, if that’s hard to believe.”
“It’s not, I understand, Blake,” Yang gave her a brief rub at the base of her feline ears for reassurance, “I guess I’ll settle for a late breakfast.”
Tearing herself away from any temptation, the dark-haired woman pulled Yang up as she stood. “We’ll pretend I didn’t just let you pet me, and I’ll agree that I’m up for a meal.”
“Last chance to eat-out,” came the cheeky offer.
“Wha-”, Blake’s confusion lasted only momentarily, “shut up.”
– ..- .-. .–. …. -.– .—-. … / .-.. .- .–
Somehow they had ended up going out for their ‘late breakfast’; one of them had decided it was too much work to make their own food – they’d both argue it was the other – and were on their way out of the small café.
Yang surreptitiously grazed her fingers against Blake’s, for if she held her hand she’d undoubtedly just follow her home. “I better head back. Explain to Rubes, in very little detail, where I was and what happened.”
“Does Ruby have to know?” Yang could tell that Blake was still very much self-conscious about the situation. As much as she wanted her to be comfortable, it was kind of a moot objective when the whole world by now was aware of their complex relationship.
Not to mention Ruby was her baby sister, and Yang still heavily relied on her for talking about all things-Blake related. Poor kid probably was sick to death of those conversations. “Weiss most likely already complained that I almost sent her to an early grave.” It was at that point Blake realised that she would just have to come to terms with the consequences of them taking this next step into ‘dating’ territory – the consequences being their circle of friends knowing about it and still teasing them.
For fuck’s sake, that was going to be difficult to deal with. “Yang, I’ll be honest with you,” Blake started as she tugged her partner slash whatever it was she was to the side of the path.
“I can deal with a lot of problematic situations. But not the one where everybody incessantly butts into our personal life – the intimate part – and I die of embarrassment and feel like we’re doing something wrong.”
Yang gave her the out she wanted, “I’ll deal with everyone, okay? I’m fine with that,” and a nod to continue. At least that was appreciated and comforting.
“I know that this all has taken too long to happen, and now that we’ve experienced difficulties so soon, I don’t want you to get the idea that I’m going to take it all back.” Because she had stopped running away from things, and wasn’t about to start again now. Not when they had this opportunity.
Lilac eyes stared in earnest. “What is the idea you want me to get, Blake?”
“I think it’s an understatement to say that we both want to just have sex like we’ve always wanted to, but now I’m just mortified at myself. I’ve been so set on finally doing it, and it’s ended up in disappointment for us both. So, maybe we should slow things down, take our time to do it right? There’s nothing I want more than to make it work between us, Yang.” The corners of Yang’s mouth quirked ever so slightly. She’d waited this long – by choice – she could wait a little longer. Blake made a good point, anyway.
“If there’s anything I could want more than you, it’d be having you for the rest of my life. No matter how long it takes,” Yang leaned down, intending to kiss the blushing woman in front of her before she stopped short, “to be clear, that wasn’t a proposal. I just love you.”
Instantly, Blake was on her, wrapping her in a tight hug, stealing the kiss before Yang could deliver it.
A passer-by was unimpressed, as he disgustedly and loudly screeched on approach, “Get a room, bitches!”
Whether he was rude because he didn’t like gay people, or faunus, or both, he scuttled past angrily complaining, “You’re cluttering the sidewa-” Blake couldn’t stop her foot jutting out to catch the verbally abusive man’s, Yang erupting into rambunctious laughter at the sight of the rude-jerk-face’s jerk face hitting the concrete.
Between frantic giggles, Yang managed to offer her a high five. “Sorry buddy, guess she didn’t see your worthless ass there,” said worthless ass was up and taking a step towards them; Yang wasn’t going to tolerate such a bigot, and shoved him back with force, “You best keep walking, I’m going to be more pissed off if I have stop kissing my hot as fuck girlfriend to reacquaint your face with the ground again.”
Taking in the distance that he was pushed, the man conceded and raised his hands in surrender knowing he was indeed better off leaving, and scurried off in a pathetic display.
Bouncing with adrenaline, and mostly pride, Yang scooped up and twirled Blake around, laughing like a madwoman. “What a chump! I’m seriously holding myself back from you right now, Blake! I just wanna do you right here and now to spite that asshole!”
“As great as that sounds, being arrested for public sex isn’t on my to-do list,” Blake said stoically – though her smile and blush said something different. Yang then recalled that she’d agreed to slow things down not two minutes ago for some inane reason; this was not going to be easy. She should at least try to make good on her promise to Blake, right? Not drag her into an alley for things that were better done in privacy. Not even if it looked like Blake had considered it for a minute second.
“But,” she added a ‘heh butts’ under her breath, “I think I’ll just ask you on a date instead. A real, proper, date! Whaddya say?”
“I say we did everything in the wrong order. Usually sex and marriage comes after asking someone to be your girlfriend and asking them on a date,” Blake replied.
“Well if you recall, technically, we didn’t do two of those things,” the blonde countered.
Blake rolled her eyes. “And technically, I didn’t say yes to the remaining two things.”
“If we’re getting that technical, I didn’t even ask you to be my girlfriend Blake.”
“You don’t have to,” she booped Yang right on the nose. “You’re stuck with me regardless.”
Yang snorted and imitated what her girlfriend had said earlier. “Woe is me!”
The raven-haired beauty turned her in the other direction and smacked her butt lovingly. “Okay, go home, Xiao Long.”
Blake watched as the still chuckling woman turned the corner with a spring in her step. “I love you.”
Notes: 25th of April, ANZAC day; I acknowledge the ANZAC soldiers; those that fought or died, those still serving - for they do not deserve to suffer for the tragedies of war; no human does. The people of Australia and New Zealand deeply appreciate the sacrifices made. I wish those sacrifices didn’t have to be made, but as Ned Kelly once said, “such is life”. I truly wish that wasn’t the case. Lest we forget.
Coming off that serious note,
I’m gonna apologise for the delay with this. I went on a short holiday, did some things, forgot about having to write a chapter, delayed some more, wrote 1000 words and wanted it to actually be substantial, then had to do other things, then finally did it because I was frustrated and mad at sports (yes Australian tradition commemorating a tragic war includes having a fucking sports game, because why not).
ALSO if you didn’t recognise the pop culture reference/s you’re either too young to be reading this, or you haven’t seen one of the best movies of all time, either way, what are you doing with your life? AND 10/10 managed to chuck in a reference to my own username because fuck yeah I am that meta 100% fire emoji
The Morse code inspiration came from me knowing Morse code for SOS, smartphones can’t even do Morse code pfft LAME 0/10 would not buy. I wanted to make a line break look interesting so that’s why there’s Morse code in the middle of the story. I do what I fuckin want
By the way, no, I had no intention to turn this into such a fluffy mess with attempt at plot but here we are
love ya *kiss kiss*

Bees Schnee for the OTP meme
Okay, so, since no numbers were indicated, I went ahead and did all of them. Get ready for 3k+ words of headcanons, lol.
Who is the most affectionate?Yang, especially at first. Blake and Weiss are more apt to be affectionate in private and they gradually become more affectionate in public as their relationship progresses. Yang still holds the title as most overtly affectionate, while Weiss and Blake tend for more subtle methods.
Big spoon/Little spoon?Yang spoons Blake, Blake spoons Weiss, if they’re all sleeping on their sides, which is usually the case in smaller beds not designs to hold three people. In their bed, however, they usually sleep with Yang in the middle, Blake on Yang’s right, and Weiss on Yang’s left. Not only does it allow them to see both of their partners first thing when they wake up, but they can all touch each other, which helps them sleep. (It’s a bit inconvenient when Yang has to pee in the middle of the night, though. She usually wakes up and debates whether or not to wake up one or the other, and then they wake up anyway because she’s squirming trying to hold it in.)
Most common argument?Transportation. It stems from them wanting to make sure everyone is equally part of the relationship and no one feels like a third wheel, but long drives can kinda put a hamper in that, so their method of transportation becomes more of an argument than a simple rearrangement. At first, they use Yang’s bike to get around, and while Blake and Weiss have no issues with the bike itself- it is rather nice- using it is hard for the three of them. Early in their relationship, Yang got a side car so it could transport all three, but that still left one sitting in the side car while the other gets to ride on the bike. Weiss and Blake then want to get a car, but that turns into a headache seeing as they all have different tastes when it comes to vehicles. Eventually, Blake and Weiss cave and the triad get a black McLaren F1 with yellow and white racing stripes, which works for a while until the twins are born, and then the hunt for a vehicle begins anew.
Favorite non-sexual activity?Yang’s a total cuddle bug, Weiss likes playing with Blake’s ears and Yang’s hair, and Blake likes reading to both of them, especially when they’re sleepy. Together, they like watching old movies, putting them on mute, and then ad-libbing lines in an effort to see who can make the others laugh first. They usually making it to about the thirty minute mark before someone breaks and then they just riff on the flick for the rest of the night; helps destress after a mission or when things are looking dark.
Who is most likely to carry the other?Much to their chagrin, Yang’s the only one capable of carrying the other two without stumbling. Yang’s almost pure muscle and taller, so it takes a bit of coordinated effort to pick her up, but she can lift Blake and Weiss no problem.
What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?Blake’s are Weiss’ eyes and Yang’s smile; both are incredibly expressive, but it takes time to really get to know both women to understand and tell the difference between sincere emotion and a facade, as Weiss and Yang are prone to covering their concerns, though for different reasons (Blake has the same problem but her ears often give her away). Weiss’ are Blake’s hands and Yang’s shoulders; she admires the metaphorical and literal strength in both and associates her partners’ attitudes with those features, Blake often taking control of things (even if her definition of ‘control’ sometimes means ‘running away’ and Yang shouldering blame and concerns to protect those closest to her). Yang’s are a bit bittersweet- her favorites are her partners’ scars; they’re constant reminders of the lives Weiss and Blake led before they met and eventually started dating and while she’s grateful the events shaped both of them into strong, capable people, it’s also a constant reminder that she’s not going to let anyone else hurt them like that. Meanwhile, they tend to have the same #2 slot; Blake and Weiss can agree they are both huge fans of Yang’s arms, Blake and Yang adore Weiss’ hips, and Weiss and Yang love Blake’s legs.
What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?lol, This is kinda the plot for Partners, no? Anyway, in contrast to my Monochrome reply, I think they’d become extremely conscious of how much they interacted with each other. The protectiveness would still be present- Blake and Yang would get miffed with anyone disrespecting Weiss’ opinion or voice (within reason, of course, because Weiss does say some shit every now and again), Weiss and Yang would take any slight against Faunus personally (they’d handle it in their own ways, with Weiss staring fuckers down or chewing them out and Yang punching them through the nearest wall), and Blake and Weiss would not tolerate any disparaging remarks about Yang’s looks or intelligence (the only reason Neon walks out of the doubles round alive is because there’s too many cameras around)- but Yang and Blake might distance themselves from each other a bit and Weiss would hang out with Ruby more often. Everyone has their own levels of perception, so while Yang might spend equal time with Blake and Weiss, one or the other might pick up on her feelings, and the last thing she’d want to do is catch one’s attention without the other even suspecting, because that would make the whole explanation really awkward, and the other two feel the same way. All three of them would turn into awkward dorks around each other, and Blake and Yang would try to minimize it because they’re partners.
Nicknames? & if so, how did they originate? For Weiss, Yang and Blake call her 'Princess’ because it does fit her personality quite well, but Ruby get credit for coining the name. They’d also call her something more intimate in private- like 'Snowfall’, something that acknowledges her family heritage and all the baggage that comes with it while affirming that it doesn’t change their affections for her and she still has the power to affect how that heritage is viewed. For Blake, 'Kitten’ is used only in private and 'Blakey’, though most often by Yang while Weiss prefers 'Love’. In the same vein, 'Kitten’ acknowledges Blake’s Faunus heritage and both of her girlfriends are careful that the moniker is only associated with expressing their deep affection while 'Blakey’ and 'Love’ offer the bit of discretion Blake is accustomed to maintaining. For Yang, there’s a lot, and they’re usually jokes of some manner- 'Pheonix’ for when she does something self-destructive but miraculously walks away from, 'Dragon’ when her temper gets the better of her, Weiss will use 'Muscles’ when she’s spending more time talking and less time accomplishing a task, that sort of thing. But, in an intimate setting, 'Sunburst’ and 'Fallen Star’ are often used, both referring to Yang’s abundant energy and bright personality.
Who worries the most?Weiss, of course. She has two separate lists for Blake and Yang alone, and then another list for when their together of all the things that could happen. Without them knowing, she often inspects their weapons and gear herself, just to put the doubts at rest.
Who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant?Blake. It makes her happy to remember little details like that whenever she’s down or missing the others, so she pays close attention whenever they go out to eat; she even notices when they use salt, pepper, or spices on which meals or which moods correspond with different types of food. She’s also got a hidden stash of Atlesian chocolate and those fireball candies for whenever her partners need a little pick-me-up.
Who tops? They take turns, to an extent, but it typically goes Weiss, Yang, Blake in terms of most dominant. Blake prefers relinquishing control to her partners, Yang’s more than willing to put her strength to use or keep herself still to aid her partners, and Weiss most often just wants to personally ensure both of her girlfriends enjoy themselves.
Who initiates kisses? At first, Yang, purely because she’s just too damn happy to have both Blake and Weiss with her that she can’t always control the impulse. Blake quickly matches her, with Weiss growing accustomed to it slowly. Still, even in the later parts of their relationship, Yang’s the most prone to go for a kiss without prompting.
Who reaches for the other’s hand first?Blake. She’s most inclined towards discreet methods of showing affection in public, so she’d be the first to interlace fingers. Weiss might beat her to the punch in private, though, and Yang would probably go for a kiss first instead.
Who kisses the hardest?Weiss, though it’s mostly because of the height difference. Blake and Yang like to tease her sometimes, so she’s gotten into the habit of pulling them down to her and giving them ample reason to not pull away. It’s quite effective.
Who wakes up first?Blake. The superb hearing in her Faunus ears means she’s a light sleeper already, so she usually is the first one to wake up while the other two try to stay asleep. Unless she’s exhausted, of course. Still, she’ll feign being asleep until one or the other wakes up and sometimes until they’re both up; she tries not to monopolize the first good morning kiss, though it is tempting.
Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer?Weiss always advocates for sleeping in when there aren’t classes or other pressing matters demanding their attention that day; she’d much rather stay in bed with her girlfriends than deal with the outside world, and there’s enough things demanding their presence independent of one another that any stolen moments they can get together is worth holding onto, in her mind. However, if they have to get up for something, Yang’s usually the last to relent while Blake plays the middle ground, usually striking a compromise to keep them all happy without making them late.
Who says I love you first?Yang. Blake and Weiss have their own personal issues with expressing affection but, if there’s one thing Summer’s sudden death and Raven’s abandonment taught her, it was that you can’t tell the people you care about how much they mean to you often enough. Especially with how crazy their lives have been, she wouldn’t want to risk Weiss or Blake ever doubting how much she cares about them, so she’d say it often and sincerely. She tries to downplay how much the lack of reciprocation affects her- she understands that both of her girlfriends need time to really be comfortable with saying those words- but she would still tell them she loves them often, just so they never have to question it.
Who leaves little notes in the other’s one lunch? (Bonus: what does it usually say?)Yang; she used to do the same for Ruby when she was younger and some habits are hard to break. She also gets a kick out of watching her girlfriend’s reactions. (“C'mon, Blakey, don’t frown! You can’t have tuna every day! But if you eat all your lunch, you’ll get a nice dessert tonight! ;)” “No, Princess, you don’t need a knife and fork to eat a PB & J, just use the napkin or ask me to clean you up! ;)” Blake and Weiss try to deny how much they enjoy Yang’s teasing.)
Who tells their family/friends about their relationship first?By default, Yang; Ruby is part of their team, after all, and would be the first person informed about their relationship. Between Blake and Weiss, though, Blake manages to get a message down to Menagerie… and then further explains herself two weeks later when Ghira and Kali show up, because like hell they’re just going to wait at home now that they know a) where their daughter is and b) that she’s dating.
What do their family/friends think of their relationship?Yang’s family is entirely supportive, though Qrow has some misgivings about Weiss. He mostly keeps them to himself so Yang can be happy; his beef is mostly with Winter, anyway. Taiyang’s warily happy that Yang’s found two people she cares so much about. He’s concerned she’ll make the same mistakes he did, despite their differing circumstances, but let’s her do it anyway. Only way she’ll really learn if things go south is to not interfere at all, he figures, and he treats Blake and Weiss like family until that worry fades away completely. Blake’s family is split at first; Kali is supportive but Ghira needs to be won over a bit. Honestly, Kali’s a bit too supportive and has to be told to stop with her 'suggestions’ while Yang gets Ghira’s approval after a bit of joking around and roughhousing and Weiss wins him over after the two butt heads over SDC policies- she turns out to be more progressive than he’d given her credit for, and manages to be both forceful and respectful, which will be needed when it comes to affecting change. Once he gives them the chance, Ghira becomes genuinely fond of Yang and Weiss, seeing as they both put in noticeable effort to make his daughter happy, and he welcomes them with open arms after that. Weiss, on the other hand, only has Winter for support; her father rejects the relationship entirely, her brother isn’t about to get in the middle of this, and her mother… yeah. We’re not going into that. Winter, at least, is glad her sister’s found her own way in the world that seems to be leading her to happiness. She could do without being indirectly related to Qrow, but, she’s willing to make that sacrifice for her sister.
Who is more likely to start dancing with the other?Weiss. She didn’t get a chance to at the school dance so, after one off hand remark about ballroom dancing, takes it upon herself to teach Yang and Blake a few different styles. She usually sings along with the music, too, and they eventually create their own style of dancing that works for most waltzing songs but allows all three of them to move together, and they’ll hum along with the music.
Who cooks more/who is better at cooking?Yang, mainly thanks to Summer and Ruby. She teaches Weiss and Blake some of Summer’s and Taiyang’s old recipes but usually takes on cooking duty herself; it’s as relaxing as going a few rounds against a heavy bag, but with a better result. She’s also more than a little proud when she can get one or both of her girlfriends to moan without even touching them, and good food is one way to make that happen.
Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines?Again, Yang- it’s like breathing for her- while Blake is prone to quoting her *ahem* romance novels. Weiss tries and usually fails to land the delivery just right, but Yang and Blake both think that’s too damn cute, so it works in her favor.
Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear during inappropriate times?Weiss- and she’s gotten better at using the smallest amount of words to produce the maximum effect as time goes on. Yang’s too loud to try and Blake’s more tactile- a brush of her fingertips as they pass is more her style.
Who needs more assurance? All of them need assurance, for varying reasons, but Weiss needs slightly more. While she always expected, to some degree, that her relationship with her father would deteriorate at some point, losing the security of her family is still a blow that shakes her up. Add to that how often she feels like she’s playing catch up when it comes to expressing her emotions, telling Blake and Yang how much she cares about them, and allowing herself to be open and honest with them- it’s only natural for her to doubt her choices and actions, second guess herself, and have the worst outcomes plague her mind.
What would be their theme song?“Under Pressure” by Queen and David Bowie. (Yang will often joke that “3” by Britney Spears is their favorite song; Blake usually laughs while Weiss rolls her eyes and calls her crass.)
Who would sing to their child back to sleep?Weiss usually sings to the kids to get them to sleep; Yang’s singing usually makes them too hyper to go to bed, because she picks high tempo, driving rock songs instead of lullabies. Blake only sings very rarely, so they end up listening too intently to be lulled to sleep.
What do they do when they’re away from each other?Weiss tends to either spend her time practicing her combat technique or scrutinizing the business news but, when she’s looking to relax, she’ll put on some classical music or an old movie to unwind. Sometimes, Neptune will come over and they’ll joke about who’s more pretentious- the characters in the movie or Neptune himself- or they’ll mock depictions of stereotypes together. Blake usually reads, either at home curled up in her favorite chair by the window or down at the park, sitting in a huge tree and occasionally people watching. Every now and then, she and Sun will grab a meal to catch up or volunteer down at a homeless shelter. Yang goes out for solo rides on Bumblebee or takes a round with a heavy bag, depending on her mood. Otherwise, she and Nora will go clubbing just so they can be loud and have fun. If one of them’s busy and the other two are free, Blake and Weiss will usually find a book shop where Blake can find a new book and Weiss can read the paper, Weiss and Yang often play video games either head-to-head or cooperatively, and Blake and Yang go for a run.
one headcanon about this OTP that breaks your heartIn any universe where Yang loses her arm, she’ll feel guilty whenever holding/hugging/touching her girlfriends, because only one of them can feel her at any given time; the other just has her prosthetic, which isn’t the same. It really impacts her self image and her perceived worth as a good girlfriend to both of them, something that takes years for her to fully comes to terms with and tears her apart emotionally until then.
one headcanon about this OTP that mends itBecause of the way their respective histories have shaped them, all three understand that loving someone else- or two someones- means accepting the present and the past in order to build a future together. It’s an all-or-nothing package. Regardless of what each has individually lost, there’s two people who care about them, and those feelings are returned. It doesn’t replace what was lost but what emerges is all the stronger for it.
