Percy Jackson Content:
This is part two of my masterpost (that had too many links so I had to break it up lol).
Anyways, this section is all about Percy! I'm constantly editing and adding new links and content so please check out the original post on my blog for the updated version.
Enjoy!
Percy is Smart (Also the Best Battle Strategist in PJO):
Someone else's thoughts on how smart Percy Jackson is - which I agree with
Percy's first fight with Polybetes was hella strategic. Short. Analysis.
Percy has above average vocabulary - even as a 12 year old.
Other characters recognize that Percy is smart
Percy isn't stupid and saying so comes across as ableism.
Street smart Percy Jackson (pjo tv show)
Smart Percy representation in the pjo tv show
Percy is dylexic not stupid, and he knows what impertinent means.
A little analysis/rant about how Percy (and Leo) are really smart, and being called dumb even in jokes is still very harmful
Rick Riordan confirms that Percy gets better grades than Annabeth (ergo he's more school smart than Annabeth, who's considering dropping out)
The gods (Hermes in this case) are smart!Percy truthers
More coming soon. Hopefully.
Percy Jackson PJO Stuff:
Percy Jackson has imposter syndrome
Who Percy's request for the gods was for in TLO.
Percy used his wish from the gods to help Nico, Calypso and Rachel (not Annabeth).
Percy is a human GPS, Calendar and Clock (Percy's soft subtle powers)
Luke and Percy both have minor telekinesis powers.
Percy didn't turn down immortality for Annabeth <- from a Percy/Annabeth shipper
Powerful Percy and Poseidon analysis using the throne scene in tlo. (not mine but I agree)
We don't talk about how Percy was an outcast at chb for the first 3 books enough
Percy Jackson HoO+ Stuff:
Percy's trip in the beginning of SoN
What a happy ever after might look like for Percy (skip to the text from my reblog about halfway down)
My thoughts on Percy's character and decisions in cotg (similar to the analysis of Percy/Annabeth's life together as adults below)
Legionnaires are stunned to find out that Percy declined both godhood and praetorship.
Sailor Percy with the Queen Ann's Revenge post HoO
Percy sailing around the world, living in his boat.
Bioluminescent Percy Jackson (+ Poseidon being super fond of that)
Percy was abused by Gabe and is traumatized (and he should show it + deal with it)
Another reason why HoO was a let down was because Percy didn't go on any little adventures to help sea creatures
Percy's corruption arc (not mine)
Let Percy use a trident! + the post that inspired it
Percy opening up an aquarium post hoo (not mine but I love it)
Powerful Percy in Son of Sobek
An analysis about manipulative Percy (not mine but I agree)
Percy's physics defying feats & godly strength in Tartarus - we don't talk about this enough.
Percy Characterization post
Manipulative Percy Jackson -> Analysis about Percy in Tartarus
Fun fanfic idea: Why did Percy (break the rules) and leave camp this time?
For Percy content in the Disney+ tv show, check out the Disney+ masterpost section here (link tbd).

Here’s a little about me and what to expect
I’m Anna, she/her, 27. Welcome!
I’m on AO3 as kingandlionheart
I’m currently going 16 years strong with my love/hate relationship with the MCU (I was obsessed with Ironman after watching it lol)
Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes have a special place in my heart and I cry over them daily. I have an arsenal of headcanons about them in my drafts that I’m sometimes brave enough to share.
I don’t ship much else in the MCU except Clintasha. You may see the occasional bitterness I still harbor over AOU.
This is not multi shipping blog. Personal preference is that it HAS to be Stucky or nothing 😂 If I reblog other ships (where Steve/Bucky are concerned anyway), it’s platonic because I love friendship.
I am very anti Endgame. I am not anti Peggy, but I am anti Steggy. Expect a lot of Endgame rants until further notice.
Other fandoms I love:
Merlin
Star Wars
ATLA
PJO
Harry Potter
Other random things idk
Anti JK ✌️
Here are the other ships nearest and dearest to my heart:
Merthur
Zutara
Percabeth
Jily and Wolfstar
Zelink (BOTW/TOTK mostly)
Other things may appear but not frequently. I love broadway musicals so there may be some of that here and there.
I went dead on tumblr in 2018 but recently reappeared after I found a fanfiction on Reddit called These City Walls that absolutely destroyed my life and made me come crawling out of my grave. Seriously read it. Amazing.
Expert fanfic reader but novice fanfic writer. I am working on getting back into writing fanfiction so I talk/post a lot about writing. I want to finish my stories first before posting because I know from experience that when I post a WIP, writing becomes more of a chore than for fun.
Minors DNI, however, I once was a tumblr obsessed 15 year old who would absolutely have ignored that. So just please please be aware of the strong warning I do have very adult headcanons and will share adult content.
Feel free to talk to me about anything! Cry about Stucky, share headcanons, or just rant about whatever.

Hiii,
I have been following you since RNM (I haven’t watched the show after season 2 I think, only occasionally followed some Malex stuff on here) when I saw you posting about the new Percy Jackson show on Disney. I hope I don’t overstep but I have been dying to talk to someone and share my two cents. This is pretty much a rant so feel free to ignore it.
This rant stems mostly from the fact that I expected things to be closer to the plot in the books.
I must say that I am disappointed after so many people hyped up the show. To be honest, I expected more, especially because RR is involved so deeply and critiqued the films so much which let me to believe that he’d be more peculiar about the show (and I guess that’s true, just in a different way). And I agree that while the show does include more actual scenes from the books right down to copying lines directly, they miss a bit of the character of the books. It started strongly and got worse from there. That being said, the show is fine though I am not sure I will stick around for the second season should there be one.
What annoys me the most is - and that is something you touch on regularly, correct me if I am wrong - that they tell more than they show.
In the books, Percy figures out that Mr D is Dionysus, in the show he gets told.
In the books, it’s suggested that Hades is ‘the god who turned’ and if I remember correctly he’s also directly told in the show (again, correct me if I am wrong).
In the books, he figures out who Aunt Em is, in the show he gets told.
In the books he agonises over who of his friends will betray him, keeping the prophecy mostly to himself. In the show he talks about it.
In the books he figures out the time trap himself, they don’t know it before they enter like they do in the movies as you already mentioned.
For me, this not only is boring but it also takes away a big part of Percy’s character imo. He’s smarter than his opponents believe, can put two and two together - at least in the books. To me personally, he’s not the hero he’s in the books. The scene where he surprised me the most was when they were on the Arch and he tricked Annabeth and “sacrificed” himself.
Also, the whole encounter with Aries was much too harmless imo, as was Gabe and the argument Sally had with him (it looked more like a lover’s quarrel to me). Maybe it’s because it’s a Disney show, I honestly don’t know but I miss Percy’s sass and the more heavy topics which were always addressed in the books but never really spelt out (child abuse, abusive relationships in general).
Oh and the solstice part?? Such a shame to change such a big part of the storyline (the pacing, the urgency, the despair) once again.
And that they took away Annabeth’s love for architecture is a crime in itself. It made her much more approachable because the way she talks and races about it in the books is easy to understand for people in fandoms. I don’t feel that in the show.
I’m sorry if this is overstepping a boundary or too negative, so you can just delete if you don’t feel like answering. But I agree with you that we should be allowed to criticise.
Hi. I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to critique with me, so that's mighty kind of you 😂 (I'm not being sarcastic, I know it looks like I'm being sarcastic, but I'm not being sarcastic, I've actually been waiting to be able to talk to someone about this stuff, so my wholehearted thank you.)
Anyway, this is a lot (which is awesome), so I'm just going to go through it bit by bit.
First of all, I don't blame you for not wanting to watch rnm after season 2. Not kidding, I'd deliberated it for a bit after The Episode That Must Not Be Named, and if it wasn't for Alex, I wouldn't have bothered anymore. But anywhodle.
I'm sorry to hear you might not want to watch the second season of pjo. Personally, I enjoy the show for what it is now, and just love Percy Jackson too much to ever stop supporting the adaptations, but I totally understand the disappointment. Honestly, if RR is as involved as I think he is, and this might get me threatened, but that might be the reason the show isn't as strong as it could be. I think a lot of people forget that there's a difference between books and movies/shows. In a book, you can have characters just talking for several pages. In a movie/show, it's boring. I think, again, RR was so focused on not doing what the movies did that he missed the fact that it was at least entertaining because they had Chris Columbus behind the wheel. He directed the first two Harry Potter movies, and I think we can all agree that those movies proved he can do atmosphere and fun. If I hadn't known that a book author was so involved in the show adaptation, I might've been able to guess because a lot of it feels like someone moving the pages to the screen with no consideration in regards to "how do we make this visually interesting?"
What's important to RR seems to be more that they adapt more scenes of the books, which is what the movies didn't always do, rather than keeping things entertaining for such a different medium.
Yes, I definitely think there's more telling than showing, and in some aspects, there's just completely erasing. I've said this before and I'll say it again; if I watched the show before I read the books, I wouldn't have completely understood what was going on, why anybody thinks Percy's the lightning thief, what the quest really is, or even that Percy is a forbidden child. I got ALL of this information super easily from the movie, and the urgency of everything going on, because it knew it had to present all of this information in simple and entertaining ways, and it did. With a few lines, the movie managed to do what the show couldn't in several passages.
I'm not kidding, the way the show just constantly has characters standing there talking and talking and talking, basically taking passages right out of the book, as though that makes it a good adaptation? I couldn't follow half of what they were saying because they mumble their way throughout. No one ever really laughs. I think Percy smiles once in amusement throughout the whole show (the scene with that lizard thing during Capture the Flag).
RR was so upset that they'd raised the ages in the movies to seventeen, but what does it say when the movies starring seventeen year olds are more fun, a lot brighter and more colorful, and faster paced and more ENERGETIC than the adaptation with the kids??
Percy has shown little to no leadership so far, he's just kind of on the sidelines because Annabeth has to be the one to solve the crimes, Annabeth is suddenly the one talking back to the gods, Annabeth is the one taking care of everything. It's like RR's forgotten that this is Percy's hero journey. The entire series takes him on this arc so that he can lead the other demigods into war during the Battle of Manhattan.
Look, all I'm saying is that by the end of the Lightning Thief book, I totally believed that Percy was going to grow into a great hero that other demigods would trust to lead them into battle, but I don't see myself feeling the same way at the end of season one of the show because they've been so busy putting Annabeth in the spotlight that Percy hasn't had much of a role, at least not a role that seems in any way significant for a forbidden child of the Big Three gods.
At this point, it really feels like they could've put any demigod instead of him, and they would've done the same thing!
And yeah, I'm sad that we haven't gotten to see anything of Annabeth's fangirling over architecture, that was her big love! Instead, the show acts like it'd be too childish if she had any... interests? Hobbies? We never see her reading, we never see her admiring any buildings or structures, we never see her being a, you know, twelve-year-old girl.
I don't know, I do enjoy this show, but like I said before, if RR thinks this is the best adaptation of his books, then I'm convinced he hasn't read his own books in far too long.

My Rant About Siege and Storm (Spoilers)
(Re-posts/re-blogs are allowed)
*please don't hurt me, I promise I am actually a decent and kind person in real life*
DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED READING 'SIEGE AND STORM'. CONTROVERSIAL OPINIONS INCLUDED, NOT INTENDED TO HURT ANYONE, DO NOT HATE IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ME. THESE ARE JUST PERSONAL OPINIONS. (Book 2 of the Shadow and Bone Trilogy) If you do, do not blame me for spoiling the book. If you have only watched the TV show, you might want to skip this as well, anyways, *cough*, let me begin!
FIRST OF ALL; the beginning from around the start to page 300-ish was literally so boring. Except for Nikolai of course, Nikolai is king. Also, I am not anti-Malina, but come on, some of the scenes made me cringe so hard. You got to admit, some of the Malina scenes were cringy and unoriginal.
Also, why was Mal so insecure about his relationship with Alina? Why doesn't he trust Alina enough to know that she would never cheat on him with Nikolai? (though if I were her, I would 100% choose Nikolai, not gonna lie) Mal obviously feels threatened by Nikolai (why wouldn't he? Not to hate on him) even though Mal and Nikolai's alter persona Sturmhond were literally friends. Mal obviously doesn't trust Alina, which to me is a red flag.
ANOTHER RED FLAG (in my opinion, don't hate) was the fact that he started drinking SO BADLY and STARTED SEEING ZOYA, though I have to admit that he and Alina weren't really a thing at that point, but still.
Alina has also really started to annoy me, starting at the point when she threatened Zoya. Yes, Zoya was rude to her, but why don't you believe Zoya when she said that she lost LITERAL FAMILY because of the Darkling. Why did Alina question her? She could see that Zoya was about to cry, but still decided to throw her off. I sided with Mal when he said that Alina was threatening Zoya and SHE LIKED IT. THE FRICK ALINA?
Tumblr media
Alina is powerful, and a great main character, but she's starting to be arrogant. Seriously. (I know I was pretty arrogant as a kid, hell, I thought I was smart when I was 9 because I knew what the word 'vital' meant) But it was obvious that Zoya was super hurt, and though Alina did regret some things she said, why didn't she feel a lot empathy for her, even if Zoya was rude to me, I wouldn't continue to threaten her to leave the only home she has left. Losing family is super painful, and though I'm rude sometimes, I would never be rude someone who had just lost an aunt and a niece in a betrayal of someone she trusted (AKA the toxic Darkling, I LIKED YOU, BUT YOU CROSSED THE LINE DUDE)
Tumblr media
Anyway, after those 300 boring pages of the Darkling teleporting like a superhero and being a legit stalker (Except for Nikolai, I love you Nikolai) THE DARKLING FREAKING ATTACKS THE LITTLE PALACE (Yes, I read spoilers about this. Yes, I was still surprised. Yes, I feel the same as when I read the Hunger Games for the first time, it's that painful)
BUT THE THING THAT ANNOYED ME THE MOST WAS WHEN ALINA WAS ALL LIKE:
'oooh Mal, i love you so much, i've always loved, *kiss here*, *kiss your jawline like a weirdo*, i kiss this, i kiss that. i've loved you forever'
AND THEN SHE'S LIKE:
'ooh darkling, let me kiss you and play with your hair, yasssssss. you're my king aleksander.' (WAIT A MINUTE, I'M CONTINUING TO READ THAT PAGE BECAUSE I PUT IT DOWN AFTER SHE KISSED THE DARKLING TO CALM MYSELF, AND WHAT THE FRICK IS HAPPENING. WHY IS THIS BOOK SO CONFUSING)
BUT DAVID HELPING GENYA WAS SO FREAKING SWEET. GENYA IS A LITERAL QUEEN.
Tumblr media
I guess I have a problem with literally hating every single main character (Except Percy Jackson, perhaps I'm biased because PJO was the first fandom I was ever part of) like Katniss (She's a little negative and pessimistic no offense) and many protagonists from lesser-known novels. BUT ALINA, YOU GET ON MY NERVES. No offense once again. I can't name all the times she annoyed me, but trust me, there are lots.
AND YES, I STARTED GASPING WHEN NIKOLAI AND ZOYA HAD THEIR FIRST INTERACTION. YES, I KNOW ABOUT ZOYALAI EVEN THOUGH I HAVEN'T EVEN READ RULE OF WOLVES YET. I haven't even read up to the part where Zoyalai is canon, but I've read enough of Nikolai's Grishaverse Fandom Page to know that Zoyalai is literally perfect. Come one, sort of a reckless little idiot and a stern-minded ambitious queen, PERFECT MATCH. OH MY GODS, I'M FANGIRLING OVER A THING I HAVEN'T EVEN READ THAT MUCH OF.
I think Zoya was saying something and Nikolai said something to her during a war meeting and IT WAS SO EXCITING FOR ME EVEN THOUGH THAT WAS THE ONLY INTERACTION THEY HAVE. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
Tumblr media
But whenever the Grishaverse fandom mentions how toxic the Darkling is (I've just realized after reading Siege and Storm and watching the SAB TV show) they're just like:
Tumblr media
'Mal is boring and has no personality'. GURL, THAT'S TRUE AT SOME POINTS, MAL INFURIATES ME MOST OF THE TIME, I did ship Darklina at some point, but come on, it's still pretty toxic, but it was good for a short-term relationship, but long-term....eh, nope. I've come to the point where I have to accept the fact that everyone has different opinions, so if you ship Darklina, ship it. But also realize that the Darkling was super toxic, especially when he killed the innocent people of Novokribirsk. Otherwise, I'll read some Darklina wattpad fan-fics on Wattpad. It's nice to be neutral.
Anyways, I've suddenly realized that people are getting bored of my rant because this is so freaking long, thank you for baring with me. I await the toxic and hate comments for my controversial opinions

For the salty asks: numbers one, five, six, and twenty through twenty-three please 😇
I live for the chaos so pls just... go off my dude
Ah Tay, reason #187893467 that I love you is that you indulge me in my rants <3
Salty asks are from this post!
K this got LONG so here's a read more!
1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
Honestly even though I don't multi-ship often I DO usually get the appeal behind ships so this is a really short list. This will probably get me some hate but I still to this day can't get behind c/ex@ from the show that will not be named. But then again I do get the appeal of two super attractive women with chemistry and the whole ruler/ girl who makes the ruler change their ways thing. So I guess I get it even if I don't like it?
Also, and this is not to hate on Hinny, but Harry and Ginny from HP are not my cup of tea. I like what fandom has done for them but the actual content we get for them in the books (and movies, but I prefer the books) isn't enough for me to love them. Same with Mal and Alina from S & B/ Grishaverse, they're so bland to me in the books but the show is doing far better with them and actually making Mal ya know. Likeable. Again, I don't ship it, but best friends to lovers is top tier so I get it.
Oh! I also don't really get Dwalin/Ori from The Hobbit, but that is probably in large part because I'm a Dwalin/Nori shipper. Again though, all of the secondary characters' relationships in The Hobbit rely on fans to extrapolate HARD and wear extreme shipper goggles, and ik there's that scene where Dwalin helps Ori out of the river so like.. maybe that's where it's from? I don't hate it or anything but it's always something that's made me go ??? cause I have no idea where the heck it came from.
Apart from that... I can't think of any rn? I feel like I understand where all the PJO ships come from, even if I don't ship them. There are a couple that I don't understand how they can be someone's OTP, just because I find them super boring (no offense to those who ship C@leo or J@siper but I just don't love how Rick handled those relationships). In TSC I think fandom mainly vibes with the same pairings and that's true for most of my book fandoms. With the shows I watch I don't think fans majorly ship anything too out there for me. Maybe I don't interact enough with fandoms to tell. So this is all I got.
5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
Oh my god, oh my god, this is a can of worms, my lord. A pairing I'm not so sure about, but characters? Abso-fucking-lutely. I took a break from PJO fandom for exactly that reason and the list of characters is endless honestly, for multiple fandoms.
I won't say fandom ruined Bell@rke for me cause I still ship it, but I definitely lost enthusiasm with how toxic the shows fandom was and then that was made even worse when the show completely destroyed itself with the worst writing and plots ever in the latter seasons.
Also I have a feeling that G@me of Thrones/ @soiaf ruined one for me but I can't remember this very second. Maybe not, and again that's probably cause I don't interact with fandoms en masse, usually just through fic and following a few people I vibe with in each.
6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?
Yes, quite a few! I used to dislike Drarry (for obvious reasons I feel) and Romione (as a kid I wanted Hermione to be with Harry and even when I grew out of that I really didn't like she was with Ron) but fandom changed that for sure. And same with Darklina now, I was upset cause I felt like the books really underutilized their relationship and fell short of what could have been a super awesome pairing if better explored, but the show fandom is taking it in so many different ways that I'm starting to really love them despite the reasons I shouldn't.
And I won't say I hated Hayffie in THG, but definitely the only reason I ship them is from reading @ellanainthetardis's fic Have a Drink Sweetheart and then all the others written for them. That portrayal of Hayffie and the characters have become my own headcanons now because I've been reading them for so long and they're so good.
Fandom made me ship Leon and Morgana from Merlin too, though that's very lowkey. I never hated them, I just never thought of them as a pairing until reading fic.
20. What is the purest ship in the fandom?
Percabeth. I don't care which fandom, it's Percabeth. Growing up together, going from enemies to friends to best friends to lovers? The establishment of them being best friends and the way Rick wrote that friendship was so pure, and they are a couple with no internal problems, all external, and you just know they're gonna be together through everything, fighting at each other's side, cause that's the way they are. There's a reason they're my OTP and it's cause they are the most well-established, ride or die couple I can think of. They're just so solid.
21. What are your thoughts on crack ships?
Love em for fandom but personally I very rarely get behind crackships just because I usually need a lot of build up, scenes, good dialogue and chemistry, etc. to ship something, so most of my ships aren't crack ships. The only one I can really think of that I actively root for and ship and would read fic for is Billy/ Owen from 911 Lonestar which is just... something.
Like idk if Barduil from The Hobbit is crack because ik it's quite popular... what makes a ship a crack ship anyway? Lack of canon reference? Is it cause they two characters would be so random together because they barely ever interact? Or because it's SO unrealistic you know for sure it will never happen but want it to anyway? Or is it lack of popularity in fandom? I need someone to define this so I have a better answer :D if it's the second option then I have MANY
I love seeing fandom stuff for crack ships though, cause seriously, it's fiction, ship who you want. If you ship two characters just cause you think they're pretty side by side then that's enough for me. Make all of the fan art and fic you like.
22. Popular character you hate?
Oof. Jason from HOO. And Leo in everything after The Lost Hero. I hated Piper in The Lost Hero and Mark of Athena but like her after those. I don't like any of the book characters from S & B except Nikolai, but I like everyone in the show (except David? Why did they make him so weird? Like he's not even awkward, he's straight up rude imo, but anyway). In @soiaf I don't like Jon Snow, I think he's boring. And I despise Jorah Mormont cause I think he's creepy for having a crush on Dany.
Didn't love Stefan in TVD, too much of a goody-two-shoes. I liked dark Stefan but it felt like a totally different character. Honestly most of the characters I don't like cause they're boring or too by-the-book.
OH! A big one in M@rvel is Captain America. Can't stand him honestly, I like him as a character to have in the story, but I like never agree with him on anything. I like a couple of his one-liners but that's it really. I also don't like Gale in THG, idk if that's controversial. Or Lex@ from the show that will not be named because I think she's manipulative and not good for any of the characters i DO love.
Is Ron popular? I think so. I like fandom Ron but not canon Ron and idk why. I think I'm growing out of it but I read those books when I was like 7 initially so I thought it was awful of Ron to stop being friends with Harry because he was jealous and I never really got over that.
There are so many but I'm gonna stop now.
23. Unpopular character you love?
Again, tons. I love anyone whose got kind of a tortured backstory because it makes them more interesting to me.
I love Movieverse Hawkeye! I think Clint is great and while I wish his deafness was canon in Marvel and I don't love J Remmer, I do love Hawkeye a lot. He was honestly one of the only Marvel characters that felt consistent and in-character throughout the movies.
I like President Snow from THG just cause I think he was a fantastic villain. And Effie and Haymitch aren't unpopular, but they're probably my favourites, again because of the fics mentioned above.
Leon from Merlin!! I don't actually think he's unpopular, but he's like... my fourth favourite character in the show which I know IS considered high for most people.
Sandor Clegane from ASOIAF. Not the show, just the books. His book character is phenomenal and I am so excited for GrrM to finish the goddamn series so I know what happens to him.
The Stolls and Katie Gardner from PJO cause fandom created Tratie and sucked me in at a young age.
Bellatrix Lestrange? Is she unpopular? I don't think so but she's another one I think is a fantastic villain. I'm almost more interested in her than Voldemort tbh.
That's probably it!
Thanks so much for the ask Tay, this was tons of fun! Anyone else who's interested can feel free to fill my inbox!

Alright I know its been all but 20 mins since my girls post but let's talk about the boys in pjo/hoo . I think I'll list all of them in bullet points, rate them 1-10 and then explain why because I have a BONE to pick with some of these guys. Okay? Okay let's get started
-Percy: 5/10... I know you are all probobly thinking "wait PERCY he's the main character" but he lost his relatability a long while ago. In the beginning of his story he is a dorky little troubled 12 year old who dosent seem to extraordinary, sure then he finds out he's half God which literally nobody can relate too...but then we found out that his FATAL FLAW which is meant to be his weakness...isn't a flaw at all. It's loyalty which is not a flaw its good characteristic with a bad side just like EVERY other traits. Then he became OP and can controll every humana blood on earth and like every liquid ever and kill gods and like I can't put myself in that place anymore (and btw that's that's a good main character does. The author allows the reader to imagine themselves as that character) so yes that's all for percy
-Grover: 10/10...ABSOLUTELY AMAZING CHARCTER AND I HATE HOW THE FANDOM TREATS HIM. Like is he not percys OG ride or die. He's the most loyal to percy, the best friend to percy, the nicest to everybody in general, and he is a great protector. EVERYONE STAN GROVER RIGHT NOW!!!
-Nico: 8/10... one of the only things I dislike about Nico is how he was forced out of the closet in a demeaning way. Even though he is the first queer character in the series (I believe if I'm wrong correct me). But it would have been so much better if he was helped out of the closet by will (and also if Wills character was developed and not just thrown in there) and came out because he realized he is proud to be his most authentic self. But other than that pretty good character.
-Jason: 7/10...Honestly i don't really have much to say about Jason. He dosent do much in the series but he dosent seem like an awful person or someone I would hate to be around I think I would honestly be his friend if he needed one. But yea that's all I have to say about him.
-Leo: 0/10...I HATE LEO WITH EVERY FIBRE OF MY BEING! He's pretty sexist if you ask me. He seems to sexualize every woman he comes across and only sees her as a thing to "love". I also don't like the way he is always worshipped by the fandom....like for literally WHAT. Yea I guess he built the Argo 2 but is nobody seeing the bigger problem here! Might go on a full Leo rant at some point but ill leave this here.
-Frank: 6/10... He is much like Jason in the fact that I don't have much to say about him. He seems like a good enough guy and someone easy to be around. The only reason I deducted a point is because of a comment he made in one of the books about being lactose intolerant. He said that he would rather be Neurodivergent than not be able to drink milk. I don't know I think it's kind of sucky to rather be oppressed (well he is oppressed on the basis of him being Asian but im talking about disability) then not be able to have like...cheese. but yea overall a good 6/10
-Luke: -8289239/10...I DONT CARE WHAT YOU ALL SAY HE. IS. NOT. A HERO!!!! HES AN EVIL VILLAN, PEDOPHILE WHOS ONLY GOAL WAS TO HURT NOT HELP....HE DESERVES TARTUTUS NOT ELYSIUM! thank you for coming to my ted talk 😌
But yea anyways there is my opinion on the boys if the hoo/pjo series. I'm so sorry to the people that follow me for six the musical content I owe you some of that and I promise no more pjo stuff until I get a good amount of six stuff out (but when I do start doing pjo again I'm going OFF on annabeth) but goodbye my lovelies for now ❤

Things that bother me about Percabeth
Warning: this is going to be long and I'm not even sure if this will make sense. Also don't read this if you aren't open to criticizms of Percabeth.
Percabeth is a good ship, or at least has potential as one, but it has many legit flaws (this and this go into the flaws. By the way, go check out @takaraphoenix's Riordan crit) and I have some personal grievances. I'll write this out to understand my stance better because I need to get this off my chest.
I believe most people wouldn't agree with me on all this, but this post is entirely self-indulgent and I'm doing this for catharsis, so don't come at me. This isn't an objective analysis, just me trying to clear my thoughts. But feel free to share your opinions if you want.
Evolution in PJO
This is a pretty general point. I love the evolution of their dynamic in pjo. Their bickering, them opening up to each other and becoming so important to each other, the slow and steady buildup, it's great. Heck, I love slow burn. They have some good moments in pjo: Annabeth opening up to Percy on the zoo express, the scene with the sirens, Percy doing everything he did to save Annabeth in ttc, their conversation after Annabeth took the knife for Percy in tlo. (The underwater kiss is not one of my favourite moments, I'll come to that later.)
The romantic evolution, though, I'm not sure. I enjoyed it in ttc, there were small subtle hints like Aphrodite's scarf, or Aphrodite looking like Annabeth to Percy. But it became kind of tiring in botl onwards. Annabeth was extremely possessive and awful to Rachel. And in tlo things became a bit over-the-top.
I think Rick tried to establish them as the Most Important Person to each other. I don't like that. This is more apparent in HoO. I'll come to hoo later, but there is one instance of this in tlo: Percy seeing Annabeth in the Styx. Like one of the posts I've linked above says, it's shippy nonsense. It comes from the idea that one's romantic partner must be the most important. It doesn't make sense. I think Percy should have seen his mother in the Styx. It would make sense for Sally to be Percy's anchor, considering how much she means to him.
In short, their enemies-to-friends evolution was great, their friends-to-lovers evolution started out fine but became too much for me, and their friends-to-Most-Important-Person-to-each-other evolution was unnecessary and forced.
Luke
Luke and Annabeth's romantic subplot didn't need to exist. This isn't exactly Percabeth, but I'll say it here anyway. First of all, there's a seven year age gap, so Luke returning Annabeth's feelings is creepy. And it seems pretty unnecessary to me. It's also a bit of a mess. In tlt Annabeth blushes when Luke is around, and Luke says 'She's like my little sister.' In tlo Luke asks Annabeth if she loved him, and she says 'You were like a brother to me.' This part feels like Rick trying to add last-moment tension to Percabeth by making Luke a potential 'rival' to Percy. In the Staff of Hermes Percy says Annabeth had a crush on Luke, and as she got older, Luke had a crush on her too. Just ... Why?
They and Thalia were each other's first friends. Annabeth looked up to Luke and Luke was fond of Annabeth. That is enough reason for Annabeth to be hurt and for Luke to care about Annabeth. That is enough to set up their post-betrayal dynamic. The romance thing was completely unnecessary.
Rachel
I absolutely hate the way Annabeth treated Rachel. If there is one thing I despise about romantic subplots, it's justifying bitchiness with romantic jealousy. I guess it's okay to feel a little jealous or even possessive, and I can kind of see where Annabeth was coming from, but treating someone like shit because of that, especially in the middle of dangerous quests, is not okay. It's petty and immature. (It could be argued that Annabeth was mad because Rachel got to lead her quest, but let's be honest, she wouldn't have been that mad if it were anyone else. She specifically treated Rachel like that out of jealousy.) It was never called out and Annabeth never seemed to regret it. This bothers me so much. Fanfiction is a good coping mechanism, I suppose, but I'm here to complain about canon, not cope with it.
Speaking of Rachel, Perachel could have been a good ship. A demigod looking for a normal life and a mortal with clear sight. This elaborates on that pretty well. At the end of tlo it really felt like Rick had to get Rachel out of the way to make way for Percabeth.
Annabeth seems to be too demanding
Annabeth's attitude towards Percy bothers me sometimes. She's a good character and has a strong dynamic with Percy, but she's a bit tiring with regards to Percy (in a romantic sense; she's fine as his friend). I mean look at this quote from tlo:
I can't pretend I hadn't thought about Rachel. She was so much easier to be around than ... Well, than some other girls I knew. I didn't have to work hard, or watch what I said, or wrack my brain trying to figure out what she was thinking.
Percy feeling that way about Annabeth - his best friend of four years - just doesn't sit well with me. Percy straight up admits he's more comfortable with Rachel than with Annabeth.
There's more: Annabeth punching Percy when he asked who he should dance with in ttc, the way she treated Rachel, the way she behaved towards Percy regarding Rachel in botl, judo flipping him in moa. It's pretty tiring in general. Now that I think of it, this wasn't a thing before the romance showed up. Their dynamic was better in the earlier books in general.
Also personally I'm not a fan of Annabeth constantly calling Percy Seaweed Brain. This and this nicely sum up how I feel about that. Annabeth making fun of Percy's intelligence even after getting to know him makes no sense, especially as he was insecure about his intelligence. (And yes, I know she thought he was intelligent, as she said in the Demigod Files, but that doesn't cancel out the million times she called him stupid to his face.)
They became too couple coded
I've seen people say that Percabeth is better as friends than as lovers, and honestly I agree, and I've done some thinking to figure out why. I think it's because of the way they were written after they became a couple. They could have been fine as a couple, if they were written differently.
They started out not being able to stand each other, then gradually, they went through a lot together, got to know each other, learned to work together, and became a team. That was a great evolution, like I said before.
And like I also said before, everything I dislike about Percabeth showed up with the romance. Annabeth became catty and possessive. They became a couple. And it was as if the friendship wasn't there anymore, just the romance. They became like a cliche unreasonable girlfriend and clueless boyfriend. This is especially obvious in the beginning of Percy Jackson and the Staff of Hermes. Where's the friendship? Where's the comfortable bantering? Where's the known-each-other-for-years soundness? Hoo Percabeth just doesn't live up to pjo Percabeth at all.
(Also this is a personal bias of mine, but I'm partially romance repulsed. I can't stand cheesy romantic coded stuff. I only like lovers if they're also friends. So I guess I'm kind of pissed about Percabeth becoming so couple coded after becoming a couple.)
Their HoO dynamic
This is a related point. Like I said, hoo Percabeth doesn't live up to pjo Percabeth. All they care about is each other. They literally don't think about anyone else at all. Percy loses his memory and he remembers Annabeth. Why? Does Hera ship Percabeth? If he remembered anyone, it should have been his mom, like in the Styx. The only reason Percy remembered Annabeth, i.e Annabeth was made out to be more important to Percy than everyone else (including Grover and Tyson and Sally 'best person in the world' Jackson) is that she was his romantic partner. Again, it's shippy nonsense.
And there's this reveal that Annabeth had a crush on Percy all along. Are you kidding me? It completely retcons the enemies-to-friends development. Are you telling me that the Percabeth evolution in pjo where they learned not to hate each other was a lie? That Annabeth gradually opening up to Percy and coming to appreciate him was her acting out of a crush? I'm not believing that, no way.
I'm probably not making any sense, but my point is that Percabeth in hoo in cheesy and can't go one day without each other and people love it but I don't. It kind of messes up their previous dynamic, which is a shame because I liked pre-hoo Percabeth.
Rick seems to go overboard sometimes
I'm about to get a little controversial here. Many of the Percabeth posts in those tumblr screenshots going around social media are about the campers shipping Percabeth, or Arachne making Percabeth fanart, things like that. My theory is that part of the reason Percabeth is so popular is that the characters ship it. And Rick kind of goes overboard with that - not just with the in-universe shipping, with the ship itself.
Prime examples of going overboard are Percy seeing Annabeth in the Styx and remembering Annabeth when Hera took his memory, which imply that Annabeth was objectively the Most Important Person to Percy. I've already ranted about these above so moving on to the part about the in-universe shipping. Like I said, I'm not a fan of the underwater kiss. It's because of the situation involved. The campers just won a war and lost their friends and siblings, Clarisse just lost Silena, you'd think they'd have other things to care about than Percy and Annabeth kissing, at least for one day. And why did Arachne make fanart of that? How did she even know? There was also the matter of moving to New Rome - them wanting to move halfway across country to live together, away from New York, doesn't really make sense to me. This post elaborates on that and suggests better alternatives.
Of course, the author has complete control over the narrative, and the author wants you to believe they are making sense. And when the characters believe that too, it becomes harder for readers not to. When all the campers ship Percabeth, it's enough to convince half the readers to ship it too. (And of course, the pjo fandom has an unhealthy thing with canon ships.)
It's pretty much kept up by the fans
While we're at it, let's talk about the out-of-universe shipping. The fandom has always shipped Percabeth, partly just because they are the male lead and female lead of a series. Percabeth was set up to happen, so when Rick introduced Rachel, who actually made Percy feel good about himself and let him be himself around her, and whom Percy was interested in, he had to get her out of the way. I'm not sure I can explain it, but the Percabeth ending in the first series feels very fan service-y to me.
Platonic Percabeth vs romantic Percabeth
I think everything I've said above just explains why Percabeth worked better as friends. The had a great friendship arc and became two friends who know each other inside out, butt heads a lot but love and respect each other deeply. And then when the romance happened, Annabeth began to show these romanticized but actually toxic girlfriend stereotypes - being jealous and possessive, expecting Percy to read her mind and getting pissed when he can't, etc.
The fandom thinks those traits are okay, because they are normalised in society. People think that's how couples should work (it's not). And so the reasons I don't like Percabeth are the same reasons many people do. The date in the beginning of Staff of Hermes makes me cringe, because they were friends first and friends don't work like that. But no doubt there are many people who find it cute because society loves to romanticise the unreasonable girlfriend and clueless boyfriend trope. There are plenty of people who romanticise Annabeth judo flipping Percy or treating Rachel like shit, because things like that are normalised but I personally can't stomach them at all.
Anyway, those toxic traits come with the Percabeth romance as a package deal and there's no getting rid of them. That's why Percy and Annabeth worked better as friends, and why I feel things would be better if they just stayed friends. There was none of that tiring crap pre-romance. I can't stress this enough, I really loved their friendship in tlt or som. But when their dynamic evolved to romance, it messed up their friendship. There was a specific moment in botl when Percabeth began to feel off for me.
'She will calm down,' Chiron promised. 'She's jealous, my boy.'
'That's stupid. She's not... it's not like...'
Chiron chuckled. 'It hardly matters. Annabeth is very territorial about her friends, in case you haven't noticed. ...'
I don't know why this moment specifically, but this kind of marked a change for me. This is where Percabeth became seriously romantic, and I didn't like the related developments. This was the beginning of Annabeth's jealousy.
So what would I prefer?
I'll be honest, I shipped Percabeth for a while, probably because I love some friends-to-lovers. So I was going to make a list of things I'd change about Percabeth. I wanted to make some self-indulgent UAs (universe alterations) to fix the things I don't like. But then I started writing this thing and read up on other posts and stuff and I realised the list of things that bother me is huge and I could never make Percabeth work for me without messing everything up. So I just gave up shipping it entirely.
What I would prefer is an AU where Percabeth stays platonic forever (@elf-loving-dragon has been encouraging that idea as well). They were great as friends and I want that back. It would be so refreshing to have the male lead and female lead not end up together. Annabeth could end up alone, and still get her something permanent with her friends and camp. It would be so beautiful if something completely romance-free was specifically stated as permanent, because friendships in media deserve as much love as romance.
As for Percy, he could end up either alone or with Rachel. I don't ship him with anyone else rn. While I have made it obvious that I like Perachel, I still don't know if I actually ship it, and the idea of Percy ending up alone is not too bad either. (Update: I stan platonic Percabeth and qpp Perachel now.)
I promise I'm done now. Whew. If you've made it to the end of this long repetitive introspection, congratulations. If you agree, feel free to tell me, and if you want to argue, go ahead, I wouldn't mind listening to others' opinions. If you read this and hate me because of this just keep that to yourself. I have no patience for people who attack those who don't agree with their ship. K thanks, bye.

In light of all the posts I’ve reblogged about Rick Riordan and his books, I do want to say some things.
Disclaimer: I am very white and will not be giving my personal opinion on Rick’s apologies or his racism in general, you don’t need to hear my opinion and I can’t accept an apology not made for me. Go read responses by actual BIPOC fans if you want that. I’m also not trying to defend rick and his “representation” in any way, just offering my opinions on one particular example.
That being said, I’m gonna talk about something I actually CAN discuss: LGBTQ+ content.
When the series started, there were not really any characters that weren’t cishet. This is understandable, as it was the mid 2000s and children’s media was overwhelmingly straight. We didn’t have things like Steven Universe or She-Ra or Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (side note: I’m so happy about the increased rep in mainstream kid’s media right now).
Once we reached HOO, I assume that Rick realized he needed to step up his diversity game and actually have main characters that weren’t cishet white people. Whether or not he did a good job with representation is not for me to say, as once again, I am white, and most of the representation was BIPOC characters.
Despite this, there are definitely some hints at representation in the earlier series. So let’s talk about Nico.
Nico showed up in the third book of the first series, and was revealed to be gay in the fourth book of the second series. Surprisingly, though, it actually seems like that was planned from the start of Nick’s story. Rereading his interactions with Percy knowing the context of Nico’s sexuality reveals a lot of hints that there may have been something there. I’m honestly amazed at the subtle foreshadowing that began long before the reveal in HOH.
Even Nico’s character arc in the PJO series seems to foreshadow and parallel his sexuality. Nico’s entire arc is spent hiding and running away from people who care about him and people he cares about. As a young queer person, I can definitely relate to feeling unwanted and unwelcome and wanting to just run and hide. I wanted to escape into the Labyrinth with him sometimes. I didn’t even know I was queer when I first read those books, but I related so much to Nico. His eventual return to the others in TLO feels almost like an internal coming out (though Nico was still struggling with his actual internal coming out at the time). He arrives at the battle confident and assured, more comfortable in himself than before.
Nico still struggles with the same issues in HOO, but that’s not what I’m going to talk about now. Nico’s coming out scene, while incredibly emotional and very impactful for the young (ignorantly) gay girl, has some issues. While I understand the purpose of the forced coming out, and definitely appreciate that it was NOT portrayed as positive, it’s still very difficult to read now. I was a kid when I first read it, and it was still hard, but now as an out queer person it hits so close to home. I love that scene, and also hate it.
Nico’s other major coming out scene, the famous “you’re not my type” conversation, is such a great way to demonstrate Nico’s growth. He’s comfortable enough with himself to tell his former crush about said crush and even is able to casually joke. Most of my later coming out experiences went much like this, and I love the relatability. The symbolism of him choosing Will during that scene is great (another note, I adore Will and Nico’s relationship and I think it’s a great portrayal of a young teenage LGBT couple. They’re awkward and clingy and cute everything teenagers are while dating. Precious).
I think Nico’s character is one of the best implemented forms of “diversity” within the Riordanverse. His journey with his sexuality is clearly impacted by his background and his arc as a whole connects wonderfully with his coming out. While there are still issues, and I can’t fully speak on behalf of gay men as I am a queer woman, I really think he’s a great character and a great example of casual LGBT rep in children’s media. He’s definitely the best out of all the LGBT rep in the Riordanverse (cough cough Reyna should be a lesbian and don’t get me started on the lesbophobia with the hunters of Artemis, and also I can’t speak on Alex as I’m cis) and I really love him.
If anyone wants to hear my opinions on the lesbophobia in the Riordanverse books, or about other LGBT related stuff with that, I might make another post about it. This one is already too long and I’m on mobile so I can’t add a “read more” right now without using html and I’m too tired for that. Anyway, there’s my rant. I hope it didn’t come across as trying to defend rick or shift the dialogue away from racism. If there’s anything wrong with my post or how it’s written, PLEASE let me know so I can edit it and learn. I know I have a small following, but I really value everyone’s opinions and voices. Thanks.

( Warning: This is a very long and ranty post. If you’re not curious, I totally get it and you can scroll past it or block it.)
@blacksunlover6
This post serves as a follow-up post for anyone curious about what I posted last night, about something happening that hurts your feelings in a way which isn’t serious enough for it to matter. I took the time to sleep on what happened, and yeah it does still upset me, so here’s the full story below. I accept that I was maybe in the wrong about it, but I just wanted to vent if anyone wanted to listen/read.
Firstly what I meant when I said that it was a small thing is that it is an interaction I had with members of the RPC, and a lot of the people I know IRL and would like to talk to about it ( my girlfriend, family, friends, etc.) don’t really know about the RPC and they mean well but they’re very much logic based people and probably wouldn’t understand why it makes me so upset. I understand and acknowledge that issues with the RPC are pretty first world and small in the grand scheme of things
When I said it trapped me in a loop it was my problem at the end of the day. I have a very hard time letting things go, and things get under my skin. I am definitely the most sensitive person in my friend group, and I have had to learn sometimes that I won’t be getting an apology from people all the time, and so I have to try and learn to let things go and break the loop on my own.
I have a lot of issues with the RPC in general, and I’m not always the best at articulating things and the issues I have. This is a rant post, and very likely not the most put together. The situation that happened left me very confused and frustrated, and I’m not sure that I understand it fully anyways, so if you have any thoughts on it I’ll listen and maybe I am wrong about all this like I said. With all of that said here’s what happened
One of my hobbies is to RP for a lot of the fandoms that I’m in. I mostly RP at Wattpad ( but I don’t feel comfortable sharing my Wattpad and I won’t be sharing the Wattpad with anyone involved in this story, I would feel uncomfortable doing it).
My thoughts on Rp in general is that it has to be a collaboration. Neither of you are going to get the perfect verse that you want, at least that happens very rarely. There has to be a back and forth respect and collaboration when it comes to things like ships, changes to the world and to the timeline, and things like that. But I do have one pretty solid line in the sand when it comes to RP: “ If someone’s OC is involved, you do not have the right to speak over their desires for the OC, and what they tell you about their OC is factually true: It is their creation.”
Anyways one of the fandoms I started to RP for lately was Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and I have an OC for the series named Hokuto. I don’t want to info dump about him but the very basics on him if it helps anyone understand the story better-
Hokuto is Asian-American, and the son of Ares and a mortal woman named Sakura. Once Ares left the family, Sakura threw herself back into competitions to try and attract Ares back, and Hokuto was left alone, until he ran away, meeting Luke, Thalia and Annabeth, and going to Camp Half-Blood with them, until Thalia turned into a tree, and when she came back and joined the Hunters he had some abandonment issues pop up, and other things.
I had been speaking with someone on Wattpad for awhile and planning a group RP with a few people, and planning how to make it all work with our OC’s and adding them to the story. All of us had decided on an order to present our OC’s in, and I ended up being the last to go, and I have to say they all had really cool concepts for OC’s, and I was excited to have Hokuto bounce off them, and work on this world
In the canon of Percy Jackson, Thalia ends up joining a group called the Hunters, and swearing off romance. I had in mind that depending on how the RP went either Thalia could leave the Hunters to be with Hokuto ( In canon I believe people have left before? This might be an error on my part) or with the two of them acknowledging there could have been a romance between the two of them, but the two of them have gone in different paths in life, and it’s too late for them to be with each other.
So I was….surprised and hurt in a way when they began to say they weren’t interested in the concept, and more than that, downright hostile in a way to me. ( Like I said I don’t feel comfortable sharing my Wattpad or theirs, and I don’t have screenshots of the messages) And I tried to defend myself against some of them and explain the dynamic I wanted for Hokuto and Thalia. Here are a couple of the things they said, and how I tried to defend myself
‘ The two of them are toxic to each other’- Yes Hokuto and Thalia don’t always get along with each other, and they have a hard time speaking with each other. But the two of them are teenagers, and teenagers aren’t always perfect communicators. Hokuto and Thalia also have an extremely deep bond with each other, and a care is always what underlines their fights, and some of their pettier moments, they love each other at the end of the day
‘ Hokuto is a boring wangst character’- Yes, Hokuto does have a dark backstory, dealing with survivor’s guilt, abandonment issues, a guilty complex and self-esteem issues. But the point of his character is that he’s working to be more than all of those things, and he’s trying to be better. And as it is, PJO as a series has explored all of those themes with different characters, and so it’s not as though it would be entirely new or out of place
‘ Having Thalia leave the Hunters to be with Hokuto is heteronormative’- I guess I don’t have a response to this one. That’s why I said that Hokuto and Thalia I would like at the very least to acknowledge they could have a romantic relationship with each other, but that door has closed to them, but they were unwilling to do even that. This one in particular frustrates me because several of them shipped Thalia with a character named Reyna, and one of them had written a fic centered around Thalia and Reyna together, with Thalia leaving the Hunters to be with Reyna, and I don’t understand why her leaving isn’t considered unhealthy for that.
This went on for a little bit, and in the end, all of them said they would no longer RP with me, and they would be advising other people they knew about me to block me, and not RP, before I was then blocked by them.
It’s not a big deal in the scheme of things. It’s really not. But the situation frustrates me, upsets me, and honestly it still does. Like I said in my initial post, what they did is not serious enough it merits an apology, but it made me feel really shitty, and I am bitter about it, and I know that I have to choose to let it go on my own, and just move past it.
Hokuto is a character I worked really hard on, and I thought and think he is a cool character, and his dynamic with Thalia, at least the way I pictured it was fun and I wanted to do it. But I instead had to defend my OC and the potential ship to people who honestly just seemed dead set on fighting against it.
If anyone does understand why Hokuto was such a problem for them or has their own problem: Please please let me know, I just don’t understand.
And for everyone else: If you do RP, please just communicate with people, and do not speak over them about the visions they have for their OC

Annabeth Chase in her early twenties head-canons:
I don’t buy that the HoO/PJO kids are still 17ish. They’ve been through TOO MUCH, to STILL be 17. And also I’m biased, and they’ve aged with me, so here’s some 2019 Annabeth head-canons:
She’s got short hair. It’s a universal experience of heading to college, experimenting with your style, and although she’s never really cared about that sort of thing, short hair is just way more convenient, and a little more grown up. After some dumb monster attack where the bottom of her pony got singed, she chopped it all off, and never looked back. She’s got a wild bob of golden curls and I am HERE FOR IT.
She’s made friends not of the demi-variety. College bonds people like honestly no where else I know, and whether it be late night construction sessions for their architectural models, pre/post lecture coffees, or banding together to protect computer spots at the library, because it’s the only place the 3D modelling program will render, and they’re damned if they’re losing their place, she’s made some college friends, who are close enough for a 2am rant about respective group projects, but don’t question it if they don’t see her for like, 3 months.
Everyone’s got their own places, and dinner parties are a thing. They’re all over the country, and it’s hard to get everyone together, but nothing screams early 20′s like good intentioned, poorly executed dinner parties at new places, where the dinnerware definitely isn’t a “set”, the wine is cheap, and someone definitely burnt the dessert, but it doesn’t matter, because everyone is finally together, and all squished sitting on a two seater couch, and the only monster they’re fighting off is Bowser in Mario Odyssey.
She and Percy are mentors at camp, but they’re not there all the time. Those two have had enough adventures for a lifetime, and they’re done. But they still pop in from time to time, to say hello to everyone (it’s not like everyone they knew is there anyway, most people would have moved on, out into the world!, it’s more just to see Chiron, and the sentimentality of the place. I mean it’s right on the water, it’d be a lovely holiday spot?). They probably spend more time in New Rome, because it’s a lovely, safe city, and New York, for classes and all that jazz. I honestly don’t know where they live, but unless New Rome rent is hella cheap, it wouldn’t be some wide open, breezy, top floor loft apartment like you read in every fanfic ever, because no one has that kinda cash at twenty two.
and last but not least:
She and Percy spend Sunday afternoons at the Jackson’s apartment, because Sally is basically the mortal mum she never had, and she builds structurally IMPRESSIVE pillow forts for Stella, and being in a family environment that is accepting and warm, actually strengthens the relationship she has with her own dad and her step-family, who she still visits, and talks to, regularly.

About...the change? or the original? Anyway, PJO&HoO is awesome. No changes. Nice characters, well written... damn I just like it. As for my new... uh, obsession., Sherlock, I’m gonna make Johnlock canon. No doubt.
9. Do you know any songs that incorporate your name in it? Do you like that (those) song(s)?
...not... really sure what that means, so... sorry. Also I got ‘Autumn’ mentioned sometimes in a song, so... yeah. I like The Real World, anyway. All-time favorite.
10. Do you like ducks?
Would you believe me if I said my nickname was ‘the Duck’ once? ...it happened, 5th grade. The whole year. ...I made that nickname. My friends and I were arguing which is better: ducks, chickens, swans. Since swans are pretty but really dangerous I defended my ducks alone. ...Yes I like ducks
11. You now have inherited 3 super powers. What would you hope they would be? What would you do with them?
Shapeshifting. Into all kinds of animals, please. I really, really want to fly--wings. And be a cat or a koala and sleep. Or being able to refill anything (thank you tumblr) And... I’d also like being a telepath, just... wanna know if someone’s lying. Or, well... in times of need (exams)... haha.
questions:
1. Why do you choose that as your url?
2. Do you like angst-y stuff? Why/why not?
3. Would you rather be an angel (winged human) or a mermaid? (bird/fish?)
4. What’s the 3 ships you will drown with? (Only 3) Why? (oohhh however long you like, please.)
5. What’s your favorite dessert? What does it taste like? (I don’t eat sugar so I’m curious how dessert tastes)
6. What do you think of a favorite pillow/doll?
7. Headphones/earphones? Why?
8. Mechanical pencil / wooden pencil? Why?
9. Do you have a favorite musical instrument?
10. What’s your last dream? ^ ^
11. Can you recommend me some books/movies? ^ ^)/

!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!!!!???!!!!!!!!!
okay now the actual words:
1. What was the first fandom you got involved in?
[also answered here]
Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus. It still sneaks up and slaps me in the face sometimes. Though I hated the ending of the last book but let’s not go there
3. What is the best fandom you’ve ever been involved in?
I mean??? I love the Boueibu fandom, because I feel like I know everyone (even if I don’t know everyone) and it’s nice seeing other people’s fandom things and being like ah, yes, you’re the one who - . And then people recognize you’re own fandom things and you’re just like????? But the fandom also isn’t is-anyone-even-home small *cough* starmyu *cough*.
So yeah I really like the Boueibu fandom kudos to you.
(Also a shout out to the Haikyuu!! fandom for their love of rarepairs. Or maybe that’s just me and who I happen to follow, lol.)
8. How did you get involved in your latest fandom?
What even is… my latest fandom??? The latest fandom I’m actually active in is Boueibu. I actually started watching Boueibu right after watching Hamatora because it was around the time everyone was comparing Kinshirou and Art, so that was like, half of what was making up the Hamatora tag. Then I watched the PV and went hiroshi kamiya and whoa look at that I’m on episode five already where did the time go? (Not even because I’m particularly fond of Hiroshi Kamiya (though I am), but because I’m always oddly proud of myself when I recognize voice actors? Idk why.) I got really into the actual fandom after reading some Enkin fics and also falling in love with the Student Council. The first fic I wrote for the fandom was actually for an exchange.
My latest fandom in general is Mystic Messenger. I’d been seeing stuff pop up for it for a while and then it showed up in my recommended apps on Google Play and I just?? What the hell, why not. Let’s do this. And here I am (though I’ve only finished Yoosung’s route so far ;;;; )
10.  Is there a fandom you read fic from but don’t write in?
Yes, very much yes. I’ve read fic for so many fandoms but have only gotten around to writing for 4 of them (5 if you include PJO but I haven’t written for it since I’ve been on AO3). The ones I can think of now are Daiya No A, Joker Game, All for the Game (book series), Kuroko no Basuke, Prince of Stride, Ao no Exorcist, Oofuri, Tsuritama…
16. Are their any popular ships in your fandom which you dislike?
From Haikyuu, I’m not the biggest fan of KuroKen and Kenhina (is Kenhina popular? I don’t even know at this point). And… Asanoya, I guess? It’s not that I necessarily dislike these three as much as I’m just meh about them.
There aren’t any ships that I’ve come across that I actually dislike from Boueibu, and the ones I’m meh about aren’t really popular anyway? So.
And Rintori from Free!. Idk why it just never clicked with me??
18. What ship have you written the most about?
Tsukkikage (hq!!), apparently, though I mostly write about platonic relationships, it seems like.
22. Is there anything you regret writing?
[also answered here]
If I posted it, I don’t regret writing it. I might not necessarily like some of my old writing, but I don’t regret it. However, there are some things I’ve written down or typed out and immediately deleted because hell no this will not see the light of day not on my watch why did I even think to put those words together what was I -
27. What do you hate more: Coming up with titles or writing summaries?
[also answered here]
Coming up with titles. I love writing cute little (or heartbreaking) summaries, but titles? No thanks. It’s like I’m pulling words out of a jar, except the jar is locked, poisonous, and on fire. (Though I usually end up liking my titles, anyway.)
31. What’s the nicest thing someone has ever said about your writing?
[also answered here]
Literally anytime?? Someone comments?? I get really jittery and excited because wow someone wanted to say something about what I wrote??
While the last ask has my favorite comment, I’m going to compile some of the nicest things people have said about my writing just because it makes me happy and I can:
“goddd your writing is so beautiful i’m so jealous” - nardaviel
“and your writing is amazing, it does a beautiful job of evoking the quiet that theyre both having to deal with. i think the present tense is part of the effect because it makes it seem less like a recounting of events (which by necessity is an act of communication, and this whole thing is about an inability to communicate) and more like we’re experiencing these things alongside atsushi. but i think there’s more going on than just the choice of tense.. maybe part of it has something to do with all the parentheticals at the ends of scenes…? they seem like quiet little asides, thoughts that don’t make it out into the main narrative the same way thoughts aren’t making it out of atsushi’s head 3 tbh i don’t really know, i’m just thinking aloud because i’m trying to learn from your talent a;ljsd” - @nardaviel
“Your style is so pretty as always, I loved the descriptions and how you portrayed the characters’ thoughts and perceptions of the world around.” - you, actually
“I know that I’m gonna read this many times over in the future…. I need a moment.” - Rudxinna
“Kudos to you for keeping everyone so nicely in character, for fleshing them out so well as they age, and for showing just enough of each scene.” - chromyrose
“I loved this. I cried and laughed while reading it.” - Pechat
“You really have a gift for zeroing on these quiet significant moments.” - odoridango
“How is everything you write so amazing and perfect??” - odoridango [Honestly everything odoridango has ever commented makes my heart soar]
[I am currently basking in happiness. Thank you for giving me the excuse.]
36. What’s your favourite genre to write?
[also answered here]
Slice of Life, assuming that counts. I love the atmosphere.
40. What do you struggle the most with in your writing?
everything Plot, in general. Trying to connect everything into a coherent storyline. I find it easy with vignettes when you can get away with connecting them with subtleties or repeating lines, but having one event leading into the next without awkward breaks is a struggle. (Which is probably why I mostly stick with oneshots.) I also struggle with writing the beginning. I usually start in the middle of the fic, which will sometimes end up being the beginning anyway, orz.
44. What ship do you feel needs more attention?
[also answered here]
Just. All the platonic ships. All of them. I love platonic ships so much???? Give me all the friendship I will take it gladly.
From Boueibu, the third year OT4, as well as Kinatsuen and AkoIoRyuu (though I don’t actually ship the latter that much.) I feel like people really like them but there still isn’t that much content for them? though the only romantic ship i’ve really written is enatsu so i shouldn’t be talking
For Haikyuu!!, I’m especially fond of TsukkiKage and KuroKage, so. Also Yachi ships. They are adorable.
For Free!, I still miss reiharu, orz. I should write more for them. Other people should write more for them. More reiharu for the soul. Also Gou/Haru friendship??? It just occurred to me now but more Gou/Haru friendship would be amazing.
46. If someone was to read one of your fanfics, which fic would you recommend to them and why?
Hmmmm, I’d probably recommend an endless start of april, which is a KuniKage fic from hq summer hols. I really like the atmosphere, and how I formatted the fic. I also managed to stuff karasuno first year friendship in there. But mostly, I had a lot of fun writing it, and I think it shows. I’m overall really proud of it. (I’m also still really fond of fairy lights, lol).
48. Do you leave reviews when you read fanfiction? Why/Why not?
I try my best to leave reviews, especially when the fic made me really happy and/or really emotional. A comment can make my day, so I try to leave as many as possible. (Though I am guilty of not following through on this). I try my best to be detailed, but most of the time they end up just being really incoherent, orz.
50. How did you get into reading and/or writing fanfiction?
I think it started when I stumbled across a Lazel (PJO/HoO) fic over google search?? Then I read all the obligatory high school and harry potter AUs for PJO and then the tear jerkers and I was totally hooked?? And of course the first thing I wrote was for a rarepair, lol. After that I really wanted more platonic Jasico content, as well as a Nico-centric AU, so they were some of the first things I wrote about.
When I started really really wanting to write fanfiction, though, was after reading the fic Catch a Falling Star (free fandom come cry with me). It kinda became my fic writer’s dream to write a long one-shot like that (still kind of is, and is probably why I fell in love with long one-shots in the first place), and the imaginary friends concept has always stuck with me. That fic inspired me a lot, along with a few others. I’m still stumbling across fics where I go I want to write something like that, but that was definitely the start of it.
And here I am now, lol.
51. Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!
[also answered here]
For the other “also answered” ones, I wrote something new(ish, in some cases), but I’m gonna copy paste this one bc I’m not sure what else I want to gush about:
I hate fanfiction’s reputation????? A lot???? Like I’ve seen/read my fair share of horrible fanfiction (have more than likely written some) and, yeah, some of it’s just pointless fluff or smut or the like but???? There’s also some really really really meaningful stuff out there??? And even those that don’t have some life-changing meaning mean a lot regardless - there are fanfics that have lifted my spirits and honest to goodness probably saved me, ones that have made me laugh so ridiculously hard I’ve woken someone up and ones that have made me cry at 3 AM wondering how something this beautiful graced my eyes??? Like???? It might not interest you but give it a chance, or at least keep any trash to yourself (unless it’s like, legitimate trash, but. That’s a very fine line you’re walking. A very fine line.)
And because I don’t want to end on a hateful note:
I love the little communities fanfiction builds???? Especially in smaller fandoms, or in rarepair fandoms (for lack of a better word). I love talking to other writers when I can and seeing how proud they are and getting little comments and I just?? Fanfiction communities are actually great.
And once more for good measure: !?!?!??!?!?!?!?!!!!???!!!!!!!!! thank you!!!!!
