Steve was right in cw. The accords were ready to violate the basic human rights of super people. Just like how they violated the human rights of Sam and the others by locking them up without any trial. If you look up the Accords online and its contents you can tell they’re really fucked up.
yup ... one of my main problems with the accords was the fact that they specifically targeted enhanced people like steve, wanda, peter, bucky, bruce, etc whose “weaponry” and aspects the accords labeled as dangerous were a literal PART of them. tony and rhodey can take off their suits. nat can set her little shocky sticks down. they can separate themselves from what would have been controlled by the accords even if it would have also been annoying that they had to give their stuff up, but the enhanced people don’t have that ability at all. they’d be giving their autonomy up. their BODIES. steve, bucky, and wanda have already been subjected to experimentation by “official” groups before so why the fuck would anyone who is an enhanced human want to run the risk of being controlled by it? begging people who don’t get the issue with that to watch an x men movie or something. enhanced people and mutants aren’t far off from each other.

please marvel literally made a whole character to show what the parallel opposite of steve rogers would be like if they had the serum (power hungry, control freak, irrational etc) and literally showed exactly WHY steve rogers was a good man and why the shield didn't make him who he is and why the serum worked for him. like they literally made a character who is the complete antithesis to steve's character and showed what would happen if someone who was motivated by their own selfishness instead of their selflessness was cap and why that would be a bad idea. and people are still like,,,,, hmmmmmmm no is still think he is *all those things* bc... something about me not being able to engage with media critically. and i am tired
RIGHTTTTT like red skull and john walker both show what steve could have been if he wasn’t the good man erskine told him to remain. i hate to quote zemo but like he told bucky when bucky said the serum never corrupted steve ... “there never has been another steve rogers”. maybe if people knew how to not bank on the last ten seconds of endgame or would quit trying to insist steve was completely in the wrong during civil war aka the movie that was meant to help expose that he was capable of still having flaws ... the mcu doesn’t even require people to think THAT hard to get the point but i guess the problem is the mcu forgets the point of their own characters half the time anyways 😭.
