Fluffy Erwin Smith Brain Rot
You are by far the sweetest person to ever exist. The kindest and most loving person Erwin Smith has ever come into contact with. So much so that he spends days, weeks even, thinking to himself, "What on Earth did I do to deserve her love and kindness?"
It's why it takes him months to ask you out. It's also why his eyes pop out of his skull when you respond "Finally!" instead of shooting him down and calling him an asshole like he previously thought you would.
He's even more surprised when the two of you are standing in front of an ordained minister, professing your love for each other. When he hears your lifetime vow to love him for eternity and you slip the shiny gold ring, the symbol of your promise, onto his finger he can hardly contain himself.
But the thing that surprises him the most, that causes those thick luscious eyebrows to find their way into his hairline with shock every night, is how absolutely vicious you are in your sleep.
You are a terror when your unconscious mind takes over. You punch and kick and bruise any who get in the way of your slumber. He snores too loud and disturbs you? He can expect a pillow to be slammed in his face. He tries to cuddle you while you're asleep and over heating? He will quickly find himself on the floor, a bruise in the shape of your foot on his ass.
He knows you don't mean it. It's as if a different person takes over. "Unconscious you" is the amalgamation of every mean or rude thing you could possibly do in your life, the things you wouldn't normally do or say because you're just too fucking nice, shoved into one person for 8 hours a night.
The first time he witnessed it, he thought you hated him. You'd both finally gotten comfortable enough to have sex and agreed to each other, it was the best sex either of you had ever had. So wasn't it a surprise when you'd both fallen asleep, limbs wrapped around each other, in the middle of the night you shoved him away violently.
You murmured to yourself, "too hot, too sweaty" and rolled over away from him.
Ever the intelligent man, he'd realized you were asleep minutes after, but did it soothe the hurt, both emotional and physical? No, not really. What made it better was the return of your bright smile, your shining eyes, and the way you looked so overjoyed to wake up and see his face. Your fluttering lashes, your giggle as he explained what happened while you slept. You stole his heart when you'd listened and apologized. You kissed his cheek tenderly, ran your fingers through his hair, gazed lovingly into his eyes.
It was the moment Erwin knew he'd want to wake up to your face for the rest of his life. It was the moment Erwin decided he'd fight every nightly battle with "unconscious you" to return to his bright loving smile every morning. It was the exact moment he realized he'd love both you and "unconscious you" equally until the end of his days.
He bought a ring the next day.
