It’s been eons since I created this one but it was in dire need of some heavy editing.
So for Whumptober 2020, I decided to take up this bad boy and dust it off, polish it till it shines.

For any new AoMomo fans who have never come across it, please be aware that this is likely my best masterpiece in this tag. Now new and improved! I hope you enjoy!

Title: “Forget-Me-Not”
Chapters: 5/5 (Complete; Edited from start to finish)
Word Count:  45 415
Originally ran: 17 to 23 April 2013. Final edit: 24 October 2020.
SummaryHow was it possible that she could discern something as complex as his emotional state just by watching his expressions and gestures, yet she couldn’t do something as elementary as recognize the face of her life-long friend and husband of two years?!

“No,” Daiki told her grimly at last. “I’m not fine.”

There wasn’t a word, nor phrase, in any human language that could accurately express just how far from fine he actually was.

//In which Satsuki survives a bus crash that leaves her without any memories of her childhood friend and husband, and they both struggle to cope with this fact in a hell of their own making.
A/N: My personal challenge accepted of a maybe cliche prompt and attempt to make a tangible and memorable piece out of it.

Title: “Aural Stimulation”
Word count: 8115
Pairing: Aomine Daiki/Momoi Satsuki
Satsuki is away on business for a few weeks. Daiki gets lonely and wants to hear her voice every so often.

The question “What are you wearing?” somehow makes it into the conversation and it all goes from there.

//Or: older AoMomo discovering the joys of phone sex for the first time in their late twenties.
A/N: This is my appreciative nod in the general direction of Kinktober 2020, as well as my actual prompt fill for 30_Lemons’s prompt number 8: The Phonebooth or “Aural Sex”

I was tagged by @taigainside and @izukillme, thanks guys!! <3

I’ve already laid out my full list of WIPs for this prompt, so I’m going to take this opportunity to talk about a few I didn’t get to touch on, as well as discussing some of my currently updating fics.

everything under the sun

the massive, self-indulgent pastel/punk college AU I’ve been waiting to write for over two years now. I think I’m finally going to tackle it next month for NaNoWriMo (at least to try and get it to 50k, the structure and milestones might motivate me and help me along). I’ve talked about it a little before, drawn some things for it, and made a playlist, but I still don’t think y’all realize just how deep this thing goes. the logline is “Kagami doesn’t realize what he’s getting into when he agrees to meet the rest of Kuroko’s friends”, but the real gist of it is trying to capture the impact people have on each other’s lives, the wonderful weirdness of the college experience, the feelings of being young and in love… it’s the most ambitious project I’ve ever taken on, part of the reason it’s taken so long to get to the point where I can actually write it, and let me tell you *slaps roof of 14-page outline doc* this baby can fit so much self-projection in it. I’m excited and terrified and you should be too.

Full-Frontal (or, “draw me like one of your American boys”)

AoKaga nude model AU. they… say write what you know? I’ve got this one outlined and have started to draft it out, but I haven’t made any serious progress just yet. it’s just a oneshot, and it’s very self-indulgent, but it’s a nice simple project to come back to when the others get too stressful.

beards (re: playing it straight)

I’ve had the idea for awhile now of writing a real fake dating AU, in which the fake pairing never actually get together, and help each other get with other people instead. basically, Aomine and Momoi are each other’s beards, it’s a mutually-beneficial arrangement since Momoi is secretly with Riko and is tired of fending off hopeful straight guys, and Aomine is still in the closet and doesn’t want to deal with relationship advances of any kind. things get complicated when Momoi suggests breaking off the deal so she can be with Riko in the open, but Aomine is still in denial and clinging to the illusion, despite having finally met someone else he actually wants to be with.

worst kept secret

part of my Aomine/x collection… there is no plot whatsoever, the only thing you need to know is the working title for a long time was “the glory hole fic”.

Crazy = Genius (+Balls To The Walls)

I’m planning on writing an Aomine/Oikawa crossover someday, just you wait. these two titles refer to what would essentially be two parts of the same concept, the first from the alternating points of view of Momoi and Iwaizumi, who are at turns completely baffled and weirdly understanding of Aomine and Oikawa’s nonsensical relationship. the second would follow the boys themselves, and show exactly what kinds of insane scenarios they get themselves into.

The Night We Met

the AoKuro time-travel fic nobody asked for, inspired by a song of the same name by Lord Huron. in the middle of Aomine’s post-Teiko slump, he’s suddenly transported back in time to the moment he and Kuroko first met. he’s then forced to essentially relive middle school, with all the memories and knowledge of how things will eventually pan out still intact. I’ve got this one about half done already; it should be around four or five chapters long by the time it’s complete, I’m just trying to wrap up one or two existing fics before I publish any more WIPs.

and speaking of wrapping up existing fics…

Hoist the Colors

the AoKaga pirate AU I started to take my mind off being trapped in quarantine, after binge-watching the entire Pirates of the Caribbean series back to back and listening to the soundtrack for several days. chapter one (out of five-ish) is already completed, and I’ve got a very clear outline for the rest of the story, I just need time between projects to string it together.

Bring Me Roses

why yes I am still planning on finishing my AoKuro Florist/Tattoo Artist AU, thanks for asking! I’ve got foreshadowing and subtext to follow through on and more flower symbolism to write, I can’t just leave it hanging forever. I’ve got about half of the second part already written out, and I know exactly where it’s going, I just kind of lost steam somewhere in the middle and have to find the motivation to pick it back up.

I’m tagging: @bakugoukatsuki-rising@hybristophilica, @meiyanaalexia, @hadenxcharm, @spaztictwitch@homiro and anyone else who’d like to give this a go!

Aomine is so fixated on gravure models because he subconsciously associates them with Momoi.

Momoi is attached to Kuroko because he brings out the best in Aomine and Aomine has the most fun playing with Kuroko that Momoi developed a crush as a way to keep Kuroko close so she can see Aomine smile more often.

I know kurobas has been over for a long time. But I just have thoughts about aomomo. Like akashi mentioned in some replace plus chapter, aomine is too close to momoi for her to notice him as a possible boyfriend.

I think aomomo know deep down they will be together in the end.

Aomine has never expressed interest in any of the other (though very limited) girl characters despite his downplayed perverted interests. His girly magazine models don’t count because he’s just interested in their looks and besides he has no chance with any of them. And Momoi knows this which is why she isn’t at all jealous. But in the future, when Dai-chan inevitably becomes a basketball star, he will have a chance with models. And what will Momoi do then? I think that’s when she will notice him as a love interest because the thought of the two spending their lives apart is unfathomable.

Aomine assumes Momoi is always gonna be by his side. And she proved it by following him to Touou. He doesn’t care about her crush on Kuroko because he knows Kuroko doesn’t reciprocate. Not only that, its just a shallow school girl crush. Even still, Momoi likes Kuroko and her crush makes her happy. Aomine just goes with the flow and lets Momoi do her own thing and be happy. She’ll come to him when she’s ready for a deeper relationship. And he’ll be waiting.

They just assumed they will always be together that they overlook each other when it comes to romance. So Akashi is right. Akashi is absolute 😉

During her life, Momoi Satsuki had always felt she was a supporting character in the life of her friends. It all started when Aomine and she started to attend Teiko. The afternoons spent together decreased but not to the point she truly noticed what was happening, after all she was also making new friends and discovering to live away from her childhood friend. Then, Aomine decided to join the basketball club and of course Akashi soon noticed the girl who usually waited for him had a wonderful talent for data analysis. Because of the boys being the ones who played, a lot of people ignored the role Momoi had played as manager of the Generation of Miracles. Only a few people recognized that the said Generation would have been just a normal team without her presence. Kuroko, Akashi, Riko and even her later team of Touou never forgot who the real genius was. And with time, when all the scars were almost healed, Momoi could almost feel how that wave of recognition spread throughout all her friends. The first time Murasakibara congratulated her for all her work she almost cried. All of them had their own way to apologise and praise her after everything she had done.

Except for Aomine.

Because that stupid ganguro never said anything to her when everyone agreed he was the one who owned the most to Momoi. And strangely, she was fine with it. Aomine had never been a man of words so Momoi leant from a young age to decipher his meaning by his actions. Like waiting for her with an umbrella on a rainy day, going shopping with her even when he hates it, and asking her to play against him in the court close to home. But still, it would be nice if she could at least take some praise from the blue boy. Which she did not expect to receive in the form of jealousy.

“You’re jealous,” she laughed. “I’m flattered.”

“I’m talking seriously, Satsuki!” frowned Aomine. “You can’t trust her.”

“She has only asked me to help her team, Dai-chan.”

“You can’t help the female basketball club,” he insisted. “You help us.”

“That doesn’t mean I can’t help them too,” she answered moving her hair. “I think playing with girls will actually be nice.”

“Wait!” Aomine stepped forward, letting his arm hug her from behind in a delicate gesture. “I… I’m sorry… I know you want to but…”

“Damn it, Satsuki, are you really going to make me say it?” Momoi looked up with a smile. “Fine… I don’t want to play with them… because I don’t want you to stop playing with me… because I don’t want you to realise you deserve better.”

“Oh, Dai-chan, there is no need to be jealous,” she kissed his nose. “You’re my favourite to play with after all.”

“Even… even after everything?”

“Even after everything,” she let him lean his head over her shoulder. “You know, Dai-chan? Those times, I really wished to disappear but every time you would appear out of nowhere asking for my help. You made me feel needed when anyone else needed me.”

“Then, I’m going to keep needing you forever, Satsuki.”

“That’s the best promise you could make.”
