figured i oughta start crossposting my AO3 things here. have some fusehound angst from back in january, while i’m working on my next fic :P (please talk to me about fusehound)

Here, beneath the stone raven’s sheltering wings, is where Bloodhound sits to save themselves the dishonor of looking upon their home. Talos is plastered with their banner, the emblazoned title of CHAMPION staring back at them wherever they look, and it is easier to sit atop this cliffside sniper’s perch, facing the arena’s edge, than to bear witness to the destruction of all they hold dear. Behind them, Skyhook looms, and though the Harvester has stopped its violent beam into the sky, the heat of the lava that ripples through the arena curdles Talos’ once clear, still air.

The planet is dying. Despite their mask, and the bloody taste of victory upon their tongue, they can taste the death of their homeland. It is copper, it is heat, and it is vile.

They hear him clinking in their direction before the voice rings out.

“Houndy! How’s my favorite champion?”

The voice, while not entirely unwelcome, breaks apart their thoughts much like its owner’s weapons of choice. Fuse sits down beside them, not waiting for an invitation, and holds out a cold beer, already having opened one of his own. He deposits a few more bottles between them, careful to make sure none fall off the cliff’s edge.

Condensation drips down the walls of the bottle, and Bloodhound cannot help but to think of the ice gathered in Climatizer, and the way it steams into the lava below.

They take the beer, but say nothing.

“Figure we’ve earned a victory drink, eh? Good work out there!” Fuse clinks his bottle to Bloodhound’s and takes a drink, downing the small amount that was left. He takes another from the pile between them and holds it, waiting. Bloodhound does nothing, says nothing; they cannot drink, nor celebrate. Not yet. The smell of death is still too close, and Talos’ winter winds will only sting their throat more.

Fuse lets the silence sit between them for a minute, remarkably quiet. He is waiting for them to speak first, Bloodhound realizes, and they sigh, knowing that he may be waiting for quite some time yet.

“Talk to me, Houndy,” he finally says, hazarding a smile. “Clearly there’s somethin’ on your mind.”

And he asks it so easily, too. Like it is nothing to him. Like he can bear it.

“It will not mean anything to you,” Bloodhound scoffs. “You did not grow up here. These burdens are not yours to carry.”

Fuse snorts and opens the beers for both of them. “So?” he asks. “I've listened to countless drunken rambles in dozens of Salvo bars that meant nothing to me. But anything you have to say? ‘Course that'll mean something. Cuz it's comin' from you.”

Bloodhound looks up from the water droplets on the bottle and stares. Never before had they been so grateful for the impassive lenses of their goggles, or else Walter would have seen their bewilderment.

Composing themselves, they sigh once more. They reach up and detach the lower portion of their mask, setting it gently on the ground. They take a deep drink, letting the bitter lager drown out the taste of blood, and consider what to say. Fuse grants them silence as they drink together, the thundering clouds of Talos a fitting accompaniment to their thoughts.

“It is not anything noble or grand. Our daily lives are—” they falter, cough. Correct themselves. “Our daily lives were nothing to write stories about. They mean nothing to anyone but us.” Quieter, they add, “Nothing to anyone but me.”

Fuse takes a long drink and hums. “Stories don't have to be grand to mean somethin', Houndy,” he says with a shrug. “Like I said, it's comin' from you, so it means the world already.”

Bloodhound blinks. They clear their throat, and while something in them is curious, hopeful even, they falter. Hope has led them astray before, far too many times.

For what it is worth, Fuse allows the silence. He looks at them for a while, raising his eyebrows and grinning in open invitation, but when Bloodhound turns away, he lets them sit. Lets them stew. Though Walter is, like a handful of the other legends, worthy of their time and therefore their respect, he does not outweigh their planet. He does not outweigh their sins.

The dried grass crumbles beneath their gloved hands as they brush their fingertips along it. A sign of something frosting over far too quickly only to be thawed faster still. Roots that have been dried to dust…not entirely unlike themselves.

The striations of the rock upon the cliff face stare back at them, the untouchable majesty of something so ancient and stalwart and constant, something that withstood the test of time only to be undone by the touch of man. Stripes that tell the stories of ages and storms too great to understand stand tall around the arena, this spectacle of death. For all their prior judgment of Boone’s interpretation of the hunt, it is shameful to see how much further they have fallen. Would he blame them now? Would he understand? And truthfully, would it even matter? To be justified in the eyes of one person could never outweigh the rightful fury of those they have committed to death.

So lost they are in their contemplation, that when Fuse brushes his shoulder to theirs, they start at the touch.

“C’mooooon,” he says, voice low. “Try me. Swear I’ll be quiet.” Another wiggle of his eyebrows.

Despite it all, Bloodhound cannot help the chuckle that escapes them. They look back down to their beer, picking at the corner of the label as the condensation soaks it through. “Very well,” they say, and consider how to begin.

“I do not know Salvo’s weather patterns, but here, before…” they gesture behind them, in the direction of the Harvester, “The first sensation of winter creeping in, when you step out into the dawn’s soft light and your breath crisps up in the cold. You breathe in through your nose and start coughing right away, as the chill settles in your lungs.”

They look in the direction of the Geyser. “The microbial pools. The stench of sulfur and metal is even worse when there is not the smell of construction and fuel to overwhelm it. And though it burns your eyes to look upon it, every color we can perceive you can see in the pools. On clear days, the clouds reflect upon the still surface, and what lies beneath is far more beautiful than even the stars at night.” They look up, sighing wistfully, as though the stone roof of the raven’s wings holds within it the night sky. “And the stars? Too many to count, and so many that learning to navigate by them involves more mistakes than successes. Being in a ship and flying among them cannot compare to sitting beneath them on a warm summer’s night, with someone you—”

They stop themselves. No. Not that, not those memories. There is none of this that they can get back, and these memories ought to be of Talos, not of him. They clear their throat, hoping Walter does not notice their voice catching as they do.

“The first flush of birds from the forest,” they begin again. To their relief, Fuse does not comment on their blunder. “When you snap a twig underfoot, and the shame that comes with it. So you learn to walk quieter. You step softer, and with respect. My uncle taught me to go out every morning with the sunrise and sit at the same spot by the water’s edge. There, the animals would come to know me; the rabbits and birds began to ignore me in the same way that they would a tree, and would reveal their hidden lives without fear. I learned how to smell a prowler on the wind from those rabbits, and which plants and berries I could eat. And I learned how, when winter strips us of our comforts and compassion, those same rabbits could feed a village for a day.”

Countless, timeless little memories, all lost. Their goggles are fogging up now, with tears that have been waiting far too long to spill. Without thinking, they reach to wipe them away, and succeed only in rubbing at the lenses.

Walter does not hesitate when he reaches out to wrap an arm about their shoulders. Bloodhound wants to shake his arm away, wants to insist that they are more, that they have learned the lessons of the rocks and mountains and can shoulder the weight that they have brought upon themselves. But the bottle in Fuse’s hand drips against the fabric of their jacket and dampens the cloth, and it feels so much like cool rain against their skin that they let themselves pretend they are worthy of it.

“It was always others,” they finally say. “It was always someone else sacrificing something for my home. My parents died here. My uncle died here. My culture and my home dies here. And I alone have walked away the victor.”

They gesture to the banners across the field, their name brightening the screens.

“How does that make me a champion, Walter Fitzroy?”

Fam I just had the most incredible and stressful 2.5 hours of my goddamn life.

Let me set the scene:

It is 11:30 pm. I’m finishing a shower, remembering that I have a couple of levels left in the Apex Legends season battle pass that I need to finish, as today is the last day before it ends. I quickly realize that I’m at level 106, and I need to be at 110, and even though I have very little left to do to level up, I’m not the greatest at Apex.

So I rush to finish my shower, and dry off as quickly as possible, change, and jump straight into a match. My hair is dripping water, I’m hella uncomfortable, but goddammit I’ve been chipping at this battle pass for months (I didn’t spend money, I just really really liked the level 110 badge aesthetic) and nothing was going to stop me from getting that pass.

That’s when I met my buddy who I’ll be calling D. D and I won a game together, it was fantastic, and the two of us were chatting over the in-game voice call. He asked if we could play together, I told him about my battle pass goal, and the two of us set off to get me my goddamn badge.

Let me set the scene further.

There is an hour and a half left in the season. In order to finish leveling up, I need 4 SMG knocks (which is basically when you damage an enemy enough to “kill them” but their team is still alive and able to get them up) and 5 LMG knocks. These are types of in-game guns.

At one hour left I needed 3 SMG knocks and 4 LMG knocks.

At half an hour left I needed 1 SMG knock and 4 LMG knocks.

At 15 minutes left I needed 3 LMG knocks.

At five minutes left, I needed two.

At 1 minute left, I needed two.

We get into the last game. If I don’t get these knocks, I’ll be stuck at level 109 for this pass for the rest of my Apex career. At this point, I’m practically vibrating out of my skin. We’ve run into so many supportive people at this point- “3rd” players who were helping me get the ammo and guns I needed to win. I was stressed. D was less stressed but still rooting for me. It’s 2 in the goddamn morning, I have a class at 8, but nothing is going to stop me.

I don’t get the knocks. I failed.

I exit the match. The menu loads.

The season hasn’t ended.

D looks it up. The season doesn’t end at 2 am- it ends at 10 am. I just thought it ended at two because Apex doesn’t give you an hourly counter to the seasons end, it just says “0 days left in the season.”

Every muscle in my body fucking melts. In half an hour, I breezed through the dailies and got my badge. It was incredible. It was exhausting. D and I agreed to play more during less stressful times.

Goddammit I could have avoided so much stress if I had just looked up when the season ended.

There’s no real point to this post, honestly. It’s just a fun story because I thought others would enjoy it. I’m so proud of this, which is also kinda silly but I love it. Apex is a huge game in my family and we play together all the time so getting this badge was special to me because it represented incredible moments. And I’m happy I got it.

I’m not kidding when I say that we ran into some very kind people. Many squad mates wished us luck as we bounced from games early, because we couldn’t waste any time being revived. We felt bad abandoning them, but they understood we were on a time limit (even if it wasn’t actually real. Whoops.)

The only guy who was even slightly inconsiderate was a guy who left our game early because we were using our mics. And I respect that. He just left instead of asking us to turn them off. He could have been an asshole about it, but he wasn’t.

Today was a wild ride. Anyways that’s about it. Thanks for the fantastic season (‘•w•)b

At the beginning where primordial light once gleamed a planet blanketed by snow, and littered with ice. Landscapes devoid of life, inhabited only by the silence of an everlasting winter. Legends tale of an event known as the Behemoths Awakening. This event, a truly enigmatic moment in the history of arctic-113, would reshape the once inhospitable rock. At the break of dawn, colossal beasts tore through the coarse surface of arctic-113. Together, the behemoths would grace this dead world with a divine blessing; life. One behemoth gazed a towering body of ice. It’s curious gaze was met with the sight of a pitiful region, left stagnant within its icy tomb. It is said that the behemoth raked its claws along the ice, carving a landscape of its own — one which would be known as the shattered valley. A slew of robust animals now inhabit this valley left in the behemoths wake. Amongst these titans lies an apex prowling the shadows, with eyes as yellow as ichor. Calculated predators, cautious yet determined in their pursuit will stalk prey for miles. Panthera dencicerus, the dencicero is a large quadruped with a body plan that bears resemblance to terrestrial panthers. Dencicero roam in packs dominated by females, usually consisting of about 12 members in total. Dencicero possess a powerful stature, standing over 5 feet tall on with an average body length of around 10 feet. These animals clock in between 410 - 730 lbs, with muscle mass making up a majority of their body weight. Dencicero are obligate carnivores, meaning their diet consists solely of animal flesh. Their massive jaws are equipped with two robust canines, likened to the blades of a warrior. Using these teeth, dencicero can cleave the tough hide of any beast with ease. Dencicero will pounce their prey from behind; digging a plethora of retractable claws into the flesh of the animal. Dencicero often take on prey twice their size, wrestling them into submission before securing the kill with their fatal bite. To accommodate for the sheer darkness of the shattered valley, dencicero are equipped with two pairs of eyes that are very efficient in low light. However, their eyes are remarkably sensitive in brighter settings. Dencicero don a thick insulating coat to retain body heat. The pelage of a dencicero is intricate in design, carrying numerous stripes and spotted patterns. Their hair pigmentation is akin to the icy biome of which surrounds them, consisting of dull blue coloration mixed with a snow white underside. A unique physical trait that dencicero possess are sturdy osteoderms, which accumulate overtime through their anterior face, forearms, and dorsal region. Male dencicero develop dark dorsal patterns that grow especially prominent in their later years. Elders will advertise this dark coat to establish dominance over their pack. Dencicero are polygamous animals; dominant males will mate with several — if not all — females of the pack. Typically, a dencicero pack may possess 2 - 3 males. Male dencicero are rarely competitive during mating season. Females however will experience heightened aggression, resulting in multiple confrontations as they compete. Dencicero are incredible parents, protecting and raising newborn litters together.

trying to do some math rn on the apex lore . just to get some approximate dates for things.

games started about 2728... the year at the start of the playable Apex Legends is supposed to be 2733, right ? That’s only 5 years. how do you get 124 seasons out of that timeframe ?

that’s five years. 60 months. about 2 seasons a month. A little more than that. 1 Season every 14.7 days. HUH?

ok lets argue that the legends have some amount of workers rights and get the weekends off, a season is 10 days?

well ok ur a legend you now get the most hellish ten days of your life, you get to go home on the weekend, BUT you and all your closest corworkers all spend your days shooting each other to death (and whether its physical or some sort of VR/AR can also be debated) thats just fucked.

but this is all taking that statement of construction at a very literal face value. it could be argued that there has been 124 previous seasons, but the ones in this king’s canyon arena only started occurring in 2728. and thats going off some other math to get the start of Apex Legends in 2733. I also vaguely remember seeing the date 2732 somewhere else, but I can’t find it.so, shrug in the end.

Thinking about how the only forum I ever participated was on kissanime.to

Then it shut down for good shortly after. I guess that was my only real attempt to reach out to a community that fit me. One thing that crosses my mind frequently is how alienated I feel amongst my friends and co-workers. But I should try and make a effort to meet people who make me feel normal. Find those that let me talk and listen to what I have to say. And hold an actual conversation. That's my hope, so if you find common interests with me, feel free to reach out.

I love music, in a weird way. There isn't a day that passes without my phone blaring music. I love rock, it's a drug for me. Goosebumps shoot down my arms when I hear an amazing song (that rush of dopamine is indescribable!) . There have been so many sub genres that I've listened to. Bands that I loved and grew out of, searching for that next high. And maybe a couple that I'll revisit from time to time (like Underoath and their recent album Voyeurist ) My taste is always evolving. A couple artists I'm listening to right now is Andromeda, Animals as Leaders, and whatever prog metal auto plays on YouTube. I look forward to sharing the songs I love with someone I feel will appreciate it. Because my music is so personal and cherished that its like a window into my soul. I don't remember the names of the songs or know the members of each band member (or any). Their significance on music, or special techniques they use. My ADHD brain isn't all that great at remembering that information (unless I studied it often which seems like a chore tbh). I just embrace that song or album till my interest fades. Like the song Chino Moreno did with Polyphia 😂 listened to that song on repeat with no shred of self control.

Video games are my shit, if I show my steam library 💀 there's a ton of titles. And a lot of money senselessly spent. Senselessly because the only title that I keep coming back to is Apex Legends. Everything else is temporary. Although Overwatch 2 is a lot of fun! Still frustrating at times but it provides the challenge and multiplayer competition I enjoy. Maybe you game too and we can clap cheeks together!

If I'm not playing video games or don't feel like it. You can find me either watching random channels on YouTube or anime. I'm gonna apologize in advance, a lot of popular titles are lost on me. The ones that I'd probably have in common with most fans are Attack on Titan, Chobits, Psycho-pass (only the first season) Demon Slayer, and Steins Gate. Studio Ghibli is good as far as movies go but the ones I absolutely love is "I want to eat your pancreas" "A Silent Voice" "Josee, the tiger and the fish" and "Her Blue Sky." My absolute favorite anime series is Ergo Proxy. Funny cause my current DnD character's name is based off Vincent. It's an older title, super confusing and the anime doesn't give viewers the backstory to understand the significance of proxy's and their role given from their "creators". It's not regarded as an amazing anime. But for me, it's the similarities of Vincent's character development to my own. I didn't realize it till recently after I moved on from my own issues that I ignored for a long time. Vincent has his memory wiped to forget his past self and the anguish he faced. His new companions give him a new perspective on life. And when he faces the reality that he tried to escape, his experience with the people he cares for helps him overcome that shadow. I love you mom for helping me let go of the weight I held onto for so many years.

Lastly, my cat Mei who I got from an old co-worker when I worked at pizza hut. This cat is like the 10% of felines that isn't a Dee Dee mega doo doo head. Seriously! Mei won't jump on the kitchen counter tops, dining tables, or my PC desk. She's super gentle when we play. Like I use my hands to wrestle her and she never bites hard or claws me. Nor has she done this with my friends. And as much as she doesn't like being held, she tolerates it from me or a complete stranger with zero aggression. Honestly, she's one of the best things that has happened in my life. I love her. And yes I named her after Mei from Overwatch which is a perfect fit.

Next Apex Legends season everyone's getting a free month long course in Source Engine with their battle pass

The best case scenario in this situation would be that at least 10 people will turn up with actual helpful code and the other 99% of the people will realize that game dev, especially using an outdated game engine, is entirely produced by good faith and sorcery

The worse case scenario is no one would take the course because BIG DUM DUM, ONLY PLAY GAME, MIND CANNOT FATHOM HOW GAME WORK, OOGA BOOGA, BUG MAKE ME MAD

Final Fantasy Record Keeper Labyrinth Nexus Campaign

The Labyrinth Nexus campaign just started in the Final Fantasy Record Keeper (FFRK) mobile game.

This campaign gives a set of time-limited missions that requires you to clear 3 Labyrinth Nexus fights in order to get all the rewards.

The Labyrinth Nexus fights are in the Labyrinth Dungeons. They’re quest level 650. The fights and their corresponding rewards are as follows:

deal at least 10% damage to Salamander - 1 mythril

deal at least 30% damage to Salamander - 1 Realm/Elemental x11 ticket

defeat Salamander - 1 Scroll of Honing

deal at least 10% damage to Kraken - 1 mythril

deal at least 30% damage to Kraken - 1 Realm/Elemental x11 ticket

defeat Kraken - 1 Scroll of Honing

deal at least 10% damage to Snow Giant - 1 mythril

deal at least 30% damage to Snow Giant - 1 Realm/Elemental x11 ticket

defeat Snow Giant - 1 Scroll of Honing

These enemies have 2 versions, 1 that’s weak to physical attacks and another that’s weak to magical attacks.

Snow Giant is weak to the fire element. Salamander is weak to the water element. Kraken is weak to the thunder element.

When these fights first showed up, I just ignored them since they were permanent content and I didn’t think I had enough firepower to defeat the aforementioned bosses.

Then this Labyrinth Nexus Campaign happened. At the very least, I wanted to get the mythril and tickets before the time-limited missions ended.

Since I only needed to deal at least 30% damage to these enemies for the tickets and mythril, I thought I should be able to manage this with my elemental teams. Well, hopefully anyway.

Of course, it’d be nice to get the Scrolls of Honing too. These can be used to hone certain Soul Breaks.

For instance, if you max hone an Awakened Arcane Soul Break, you’ll be able to use it twice per fight instead of just once. It takes a lot of resources to hone these Soul Breaks though.

While I’d love to get the Scrolls of Honing, really didn’t think I’d be able to beat these bosses, at least not yet. Would need a lot more top-tier relics to power up my teams and make these battles as easy as possible.

Kraken is the boss of the Labyrinth Nexus Season 2, Part 3 dungeon. Decided to try fighting the magical-weak version of Kraken since it felt like my magical thunder team was stronger than my physical one.

Shantotto and Ashe were my main DPS. Lenna was my healer. Cait Sith was my support. Desch was my Chain holder. He was also responsible for lowering Kraken’s resistance to thunder.

Everyone was wearing White-Armored Echoes, an accessory that adds 500 additional HP and moderate resistance to all elements. Have everyone’s Hero Abilities except for Desch.

Have an Odin (Ultra Magic) as my main Magicite with the following passives: Blade Ward, Spell Ward, Lord’s Seal: Ice, Lord’s Seal: Earth, and Lord’s Seal: Lightning.

My sub Magicites were Ramuh with 2 Empower Lightnings, Leviathan with Health Boon and Healing Boon, Madeen with 2 Magic Boon, and Madeen with Health Boon and Fast Act.

I hate this fight. Kraken is so freaking tanky. He’s also really fast and he hits very hard and deals way too much damage.

The battle had barely begun when I had to restart because Kraken just kept on attacking without giving me the chance to set up and heal.

Already playing on speed 1 and yet it still feels way too fast. Can’t wait for the Wait Mode feature to be added to the Labyrinth Dungeons. Might make this fight more bearable.

As it was, had to restart multiple times before I finally managed to get past the first few turns without dying.

Really needed to be quick when it came to tapping on Soul Breaks and abilities and such otherwise Kraken was gonna end up killing everyone before I could cast a healing Soul Break.

Since my main goal was just to take off 30% of Kraken’s health, didn’t bother to be conservative with my abilities and Soul Breaks uses. Just used everything right away and tried to deal as much damage as possible.

At first, had my chars (except for Lenna who had Mako Might (lets a char begin a fight with 2 Soul Break bars) so I could use her AASB2 right away for the healing and buffs) build up their gauges.

As soon as they had 2, started casting Soul Breaks. Had Desch use his Chain then he was back to spamming Plasma Shock, an ability that has a chance to imperil lightning.

When Desch had enough bars and I didn’t need to recast the Chain, had him use his USB for more imperils.

Had Ashe and Shantotto use their TASBs then cast either their Awakenings or Syncs. Then I just had them spam their abilities.

Lenna focused on keeping everyone at max HP. She can also lower the Attack, Magic, Defense, and Resistance of all enemies via the Passionate Salsa ability. Some of her Soul Breaks can also reduce the delay of the actions of her allies.

Cait Sith is one of the top supports for magical-based teams. He enabled Ashe and Shantotto to deal even more damage. He can also heal so he helped Lenna keep everyone at full health.

His Hero Ability lowers the Defense and Resistance of all enemies aside from restoring a bit of the party’s HP. Also had Cait equipped with Allegro con Moto, an ability that reduces the offensive magic casting time of all allies for 3 turns. This helped my DPS move even faster.

Can’t remember for sure now exactly what happened, and I forgot to take a screenshot, but I actually managed to deal a total of 40.2% damage to Kraken. Wasn’t able to beat him but it’s fine.

At least I got the ticket and mythril. Don’t really want to do this fight again right now. Maybe I’ll revisit Kraken when they implement the Wait Mode feature here and if I can get more lightning relics that will make my team stronger.

Labyrinth Nexus Season 2, Part 1 Dungeon

Snow Giant is the boss of the Labyrinth Nexus Season 2, Part 1 dungeon. Fire is my strongest element. Both my physical and magical fire teams seem viable and stacked enough for this fight.

Decided to go against the physical-weak version of Snow Giant because I want to use Genesis Rhapsodos.

Currently, Genesis Rhapsodos from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (#ad) is my absolute, most favorite Final Fantasy char. He’s the reason why I’m playing Final Fantasy Record Keeper.

Genesis is a physical fire DPS, and I have all of his relics so, of course, he was gonna be my main damage dealer for this Labyrinth Nexus quest.

Then he has 33 points in all the other elemental defenses. Someday, I hope for him to have 100 in all the stats. Getting Magia Points takes time though.

Not exactly farming for it but since I almost always use Gen for basically everything in this game, he’s always getting some Magia.

It’s just that you need to do several battles before you can even get 1 Magia point so, yeah, it’s pretty slow-going.

Five of those relics can be acquired from the The Record Lab using Anima Lenses. The only one that isn’t Lensable is his AASB2.

I hope someday Sephi’s second Awakening will also be added to the The Record Lab. It’s basically the only relic I’m missing for him so I’d like to have it even if it isn’t that good. Besides, more BDL options is always welcome.

If I can get Sephi’s AASB2, then I’ll probably buy the rest of his Lensable relics. Most, if not all, of those are outdated now which is why I haven’t bothered to buy them.

But if I could fully complete Seph, then I’ll get those relics even if I’ll never end up using them.

Sephiroth is primarily a physical dark elemental DPS but he recently got some fire tech.

Since obtaining most of his fire relics, I started adding him to my fire team as my secondary DPS. Naturally, Genesis is my main and primary DPS.

Most of the time, I run a mostly FF7-team consisting of Genesis, Sephiroth, Vincent Valentine (from Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VII), Aeris or Aerith Gainsborough (from Final Fantasy VII), and Balthier.

Aerith’s a healer and Vincent is another fire DPS with some utility. Depending on how he’s geared, he can deal either physical or magical damage.

I have his Chain Soul Break but I can’t use it for this team because it boosts magical DPS. Would have wanted to run Vincent for this fight as well but I couldn’t bring him since I needed to bring a support, not yet another DPS.

Genesis and Sephiroth were my DPS. Lenna was my healer. Balthier was my Chain holder. He was also in charge of lowering the enemy’s resistance to the fire element. Tyro was my support.

Aside from Genesis, both Lenna and Seph have their Hero Abilities as well. Sephi also has his Hero Equipment. Too bad Gen’s Hero Equipment isn’t available yet. Balthier’s, Lenna’s, and Tyro’s aren’t available yet either.

My Odin (Ultra Attack) has the same passives as my Odin (Ultra Magic). My sub Magicites were Ifrit with 2 Empower Fire, Madeen with 2 Deadly Strikes, Madeen with Health Boon and Fast Act, and Shiva with Health Boon and Healing Boon.

It’s really too bad that I don’t have a Lord’s Seal: Fire yet. This would have further increased the fire damage of my chars. Also would have wanted a Lord’s Gauntlet: Physical Fire for Genesis, at least until his Hero Equipment shows up.

Unfortunately, to get those 2, I need to beat the physical-weak and water-weak version of Argent Odin (AOdin) or White Odin (WOdin).

I’ve already beaten a few WOdins which was how I got the Seals that I’ve already inherited on my main Odin Magicites but am in dire need of more water firepower so can’t do this particular AOdin fight yet.

Anyway, Snow Giant seems to be as fast as Kraken in that I needed to restart the quest multiple times before I could finally get past the first few turns without anyone or all my chars dying before I could heal them.

Had everyone except Lenna (who was once again equipped with Mako Might) build up their gauges first. Balthier used his Chain then spammed Burnt Offering (similar to Plasma Shock, excetp it imperils fire). If he had the gauges to spare, had him use his USB2 for more fire imperil.

Lenna focused on keeping everyone alive as usual. Tyro boosted the damage of my physical DPS with his AASB1 and USB4. Had him Entrust his spare gauges to Lenna so she can keep using her Soul Breaks to heal and speed up the party.

Tyro isn’t the best physical support out there but he’s the only one I have so have to make do with him. He does work well enough although I do wish I have some of the other top-tier physical supports so I can further boost Genesis’s damage output.

Had Genesis and Sephiroth use their BDL relics then just spammed their Hero Abilities, or Sync commands if I was using their Sync. IIRC, had them use their TASBs first then their Syncs. When that ran out, used their Awakenings. Also had Genesis use his Glint+1 and Glint+2.

Was very pleased when I managed to deal 30% damage to Snow Giant. Yay for another mythril and ticket.

My fire team did so well even without a better physical support, a Lord’s Seal: Fire and a Lord’s Gauntlet: Physical Fire.

In fact, they did so well that the fight wasn’t over yet. Since everyone was still alive, kept going.

Genesis and Sephiroth dealt so much damage that I actually started thinking that it might be possible for me to win my first Labyrinth Dungeon fight.

Alas, it wasn’t meant to be. A couple of mistakes combined with Snow Giant being annoying with his crappy mechanics and such cost me the win.

First, these Crystals showed up. IIRC, this happened a bit after I dealt 30% damage to Snow Giant.

Didn’t bother reading more details about Snow Giant and exactly what he does since my main goal was just to get the ticket and mythril but I did glance at the in-game description a little.

Apparently, multiple of these Crystals will show up then you need to deal at least 10k damage by using a Soul Break or Historia Crystal or Magicite. Then all the Crystals will detonate and will deal damage to Snow Giant.

However, Snow Giant can also get these Crystals to detonate. If he does, then a lot of damage will be dealt to your chars.

Got lucky in that when the first batch of Crystals showed up, was somehow able to get them to detonate by dealing the required 10k damage.

I think it was because I just summoned my Odin Magicite again or maybe it was because either Sephi or Gen had used one of their Soul Breaks.

Can’t remember for sure now but it was a very pleasant surprise when those Crystals suddenly exploded and dealt quite a bit of damage to Snow Giant. But then the Crystals spawned again soon afterwards.

Unfortunately, this time, I failed to deal the required 10k damage so it was Snow Giant who detonated the Crystals. My chars nearly died. Was able to heal them but things kinda started going downhill after that.

One mistake I can distinctly recall was accidentally tapping on Sephiroth’s LBO. This wouldn’t have been so bad if it actually dealt damage except it didn’t. It activated and did a grand total of 0 damage for all 5 of its hits.

Sephi’s LBO deals pure dark damage. Apparently, Snow Giant nulls everything except fire elemental damage.

If I was gonna use a Limit Break Overstrike, it should have been Genesis’s instead since that one deals pure fire damage and would have most likely hit for the max of 99999x5.

Ugh. Shouldn’t have bothered equipping some of Seph’s dark tech. After equipping all of the fire tech I have for him, he still had a few slots left so I added some of his dark Soul Breaks.

I thought I could use some of these as back up in case I needed more damage. If only I’d known Snow Giant was resistant to everything except fire. Sigh.

Was able to drop Snow Giant down to 19.7% HP before everyone in my party died. Argh! Feels so close to winning. Just a bit more and maybe I’d have been able to make it. Ah, well. It’s fine. At least I got the ticket and mythril.

Also, this really wasn’t bad at all considering I’m stuck using Tyro as my physical support and I’ve yet to beat water-weak Argent Odin for more buffs for my fire team. Maybe a couple more tries might get me the win.

But I don’t really feel like revisiting this fight again right now. It’s too annoying and frustrating. I could just try again once the Wait Mode feature gets added here and after I beat water-weak White Odin.

Heck, I could even just wait until Genesis’s Hero Equipment gets added to the game, and/or I get more fire tech and a better physical support than Tyro.

There’s no rush anyway unless we get another time-limited campaign or something.

Labyrinth Nexus Season 2, Part 2 Dungeon

Salamander is the boss of the Labyrinth Nexus Season 2, Part 2 dungeon. I was really dreading having to do this fight because, as aforementioned, my water teams really need more firepower.

I worried I might not even be able to deal the required 30% damage to get the mythril and ticket reward.

My physical water team seems way better than its magical counterpart so decided to take on the physical-weak version of Salamander.

My physical water team is so bad that I had to resort to using Bartz. I have a lot of his BDL relics but the only water BDL relic that I have for him is his Sync 3. The rest all deal damage in a variety of other elements.

So have to go through a few hoops just to get him to work on this fight. Having his Hero Ability, which deals fire, water, wind, and earth damage, and the wording on some of his Soul Breaks makes this possible.

So first is I use his TASB3 (his TASB2 would work as well. It doesn’t really matter which one I use for this fight since neither will give him a water elemental infusion anyway). Then I cast his DASB1.

Bartz’s TASB3 will infuse him with fire. His DASB1 will overwrite that and infuse him with wind. So I have to use his G+3 to infuse him with water and overwrite the wind infusion.

Although his DASB1 infuses him with wind, it gives him Dual Awoken Spellblade Mode instead of Dual Awoken Wind Mode. This lets him use any Spellblade ability regardless of its element.

So with his Hero Ability, which is a Spellblade-type of ability, and with his G+3, he can deal water damage even after using his DASB1.

Once the effects of Bartz’s DASB1 run out, I can use his Sync 3 which will automatically infuse him with water.

If the effects of that run out and the fight is still going, then I have to resort to using his AASB5. This infuses him with fire but, similar to his DASB1, gives him Awoken Spellblade Mode so I just need to overwrite the fire infusion again.

Unfortunately, Glint+ Soul Breaks can only be used once so now I have to resort to using Bartz’s G2 to infuse him with water.

Glints need 1 Soul Break bar before they can be cast though so in order to use Bartz’s Awakening then Glint right away, he needs 3 bars.

Yuffie’s Chain is way better than Tidus’s so opted to use hers over his. Tidus was better as a DPS anyway.

The only problem was that I’m missing another BDL relic for Tidus. If only I had even just one of his Syncs and/or his second Awakening.

For my main Magicite, used Odin (Ultra Attack) and for my sub Magicites, I used Leviathan with 2 Empower Water, Ifrit with Healing Boon and Health Boon, Madeen with Health Boon and Fast Act, and Madeen with 2 Deadly Strikes.

Water Elemental Banner

Since my water team was so bad, decided I’d better use the Realm/Elemental x11 tickets that I just got on the Water Elemental banner. Hopefully, I can get something that can help me deal even just 30% damage to Salamander.

Of course, what I really wanted was more of Bartz’s water tech and Tidus’s Sync 2 (he has 2 Syncs and the second is way better than the first) and/or AASB2. I’ll gladly take a second BDL Soul Break for a char I already have a BDL relic for though.

Would also love to be able to power up my magical water team. If I can just get more magical water BDL relics, I should be able to run a magical water team then I can use Cait Sith as my support instead of being stuck with Tyro.

Yeah, I know. None of the above is gonna happen. I’m more likely to get trash than anything good considering how bloated the pool is for this banner. Can only hope to somehow get lucky or for there to be a miracle or something. LOL.

Anyway, to my surprise and relief (was really dreading seeing only 1 gold and having that be nothing more than a useless 5-star item), I got 3 golds.

Then Dr. Mog actually showed up and turned 1 of them into a 7-star item. Hell, yes! Now just need to hope that this is a Sync.

Please be a Sync. And please be a Sync for a char whose Awakening I already have or whose Awakening I can buy from the The Record Lab.

The 7-star item I got was this ball. When I saw this, I was so totally sure that I just got something that belongs to Wakka (from Final Fantasy X), which is unfortunate because I don’t have anything for him.

Hopefully, this is at least his Sync so maybe I can make him work somehow. If his Awakening is in the The Record Lab, then that’ll definitely make him usable.

The first gold I got was Tidus’s 5-star LMR2, Blitz Basics. It gives a chance to “reduce delay of the user’s actions for one turn when a water ability triggers”.

It’s new, it’s for Tidus, and he’s on my water team, but this doesn’t seem good compared to the ones that I already have equipped to him.

Right now, he’s got one that increases his water damage a bit and another that gives a chance to dualcast water abilities. Those seem way better than Blitz Basics so meh. Not gonna bother equipping this to Tidus.

The second gold I got was a dupe 6-star Ultra Soul Break that belongs to Kimahri Ronso (from Final Fantasy X). Ahh, if only this had been something new instead. Don’t even have a single BDL relic for Kimahri so can’t use him.

As for the 7-star item - well, like I said, I was so sure that this belongs to Wakka but when I got to the draw results screen, I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that I was wrong. But I’m so happy to be wrong because guess who actually owns this ball.

Yeah, that’s right. Just got Tidus’s SASB1, Blitz Yell. Hell, yes! So freaking happy to see this. Yes, his Sync 2’s better but having 1 of his Syncs is better than having none at all.

At least I finally have another BDL relic for Tidus. My chances of being able to deal 30% damage to Salamander have just gone up.

This was such an awesome pull that I should have stopped here. I could try the Salamander fight now and see how it goes.

But since I do need more water tech, decided to throw my 2 (the third ticket was the one you get every 15 days you log on to the game) remaining tickets here.

Unfortunately, those tickets didn’t give me anything as good or as useful as the one that gave me Tidus’s Sync.

The second ticket gave me 2 golds - Edge Geraldine’s (from Final Fantasy IV) 5-star BSB and Famed Mimic Gogo’s (from Final Fantasy V) 6-star LMR+. Both are new but meh.

Don’t have a single BDL relic for Edge and BSB’s are outdated by now so this isn’t getting used at all.

Gogo’s LMR+ is useful for the water imperil and, IIRC, I do have one of his Awakenings, but I can’t deny being disappointed at not seeing an Awakening or Sync on this pull.

The third ticket gave me 2 golds - Gogo’s 5-star LMR and Wakka’s 6-star Limit Break Glint (LBG), Water Flash (Wakka). Both are new but also meh.

Ahh, if only I could get Gogo’s Sync to go with all these LMRs I keep getting for him. Sigh. As for Wakka, he’s useless until I can get a BDL relic for him.

What a waste of tickets. Ah, well. At least I got Tidus’s Sync.

Labyrinth Nexus Season 2, Part 2 Dungeon

So after equipping Tidus’s Sync, it was now time to try the Salamander fight. Just like Snow Giant and Kraken, Salamander is really freaking fast so had to restart a couple of times before I could get past the first few turns.

A few turns or so after I started dealing damage, Tidus, who was on slot 3 ended up getting hit with the Berserk debuff.

This prevented me from using any of his abilities or Soul Breaks so he just automatically used his regular attack which sucks and barely deals damage.

Had to restart the fight. IIRC, moved Yuffie to this slot so Tidus could keep on dealing damage alongside Bartz without being interrupted.

Had to restart the fight multiple times before I could get past this part. Yuffie getting Berserked for a bit was fine but couldn’t have her in this state forever since she needs to recast her Chain when the first one ends.

Also still needed her to keep on imperiling water. So I was trying to get Tyro to use Purifying Grimoire to remove the debuff. Also tried to time his USB1, which allows the party to avoid 1 debuff. Even equipped Ultra Cure (heals and esunas its target) on Lenna.

After finally being able to get past that annoying Berserk debuff, was able to keep going. Just when I was close to dealing 30% damage to the boss, my chars were suddenly hit with this attack that apparently paralyzed all of them.

No one could move, and I could do nothing but watch as Salamander kept on attacking and attacking until everyone died. Eff! Also, WTF just happened?

Tried again and again but the same thing kept happening. Since even Lenna couldn’t move, there was no way to Ultra Cure the status effect away.

Couldn’t use Tyro’s Purifying Grimoire either. Even his USB1 didn’t seem to be working, or maybe I just couldn’t get the timing right.

Was getting really annoyed and frustrated because I was so close to 30% already. Just needed to deal a little bit more damage to get the time-limited rewards.

So I decided to check out the AI for this battle. That was when I found out that on Phase 1, Turn 9, Salamander would inflict the Berserk debuff on whoever is on slot 3.

In order to instantly shrug off Berserk, a char needs to have at least 900 MND. Healers naturally have high MND since their healing output is based on said stat.

My Lenna has 1k+ MND so I put her on slot 3. Now I don’t need to worry about the Berserk debuff on that turn anymore.

On Phase 1, Turn 14, Salamander uses Labyrinth Maze Gate. Looks like this is the one that’s been hitting all my chars and preventing them from moving. Apparently, there’s no way to block this attack.

It deals damage and Interrupts, Paralyzes, and Slows everyone. It seems like the only way to deal with this is to get to Phase 2 of the fight before Salamander can use this attack. Phase 2 happens as soon as Salamander drops down to 70% HP.

Getting to Phase 2 was easier said than done though. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve tried and tried this fight, only to be hit with Labyrinth Maze Gate.

I’m so close to getting Salamander down to 70% HP but just can’t seem to make it happen before that blasted Labyrinth Maze Gate hits my party. It’s so frustrating and annoying.

Just need a bit more damage. Just need a few more dualcasts of Bartz’s and Tidus’s offensive abilities to proc.

Kept on trying because I was so close to the required theshold that I didn’t want to just give up now, especially after I’ve already spent so much time on this.

After what felt like forever, I finally somehow managed to get past Phase 1 before being hit with Labyrinth Maze Gate. Hell, yes!

Ended up dying a few turns or so later. Only managed to get Salamander down to 60.3% HP. But I don’t care. I’m just glad I’m finally done with this fight.

Don’t want to do this again anytime soon. Will probably just wait for more powercreep before going back to this. At the very least, I could at least wait until I can get a Lord’s Seal: Water plus a bit lot more water tech.

Water Elemental Banner

Decided to throw the ticket I just got from dealing 39.7% damage to Salamander on the Water Elemental banner.

Was thinking to myself, this ticket better be worth it after the amount of trouble I had to go through just to get it. Considering my last 2 pulls though, was doubtful that I’d get anything good.

This draw gave me 2 golds. Was very pleased when Dr. Mog actually showed up and turned 1 of them into a 7-star item. Yay! Hopefully, this one will be new, good, and useful.

Ended up with this sword but I don’t recognize it. At least no Rank Up screen showed up so this should be new.

Got to the draw results screen and - OMFG! I did get something new, and it belongs to Tidus.

That’s right. I could hardly believe this but I just got his SASB2, Blitz Ace. Hell, yes! So freaking happy to see this.

I think I might actually have a shot at defeating physical and water-weak Argent Odin now. We’ll see, I guess.

Anyway, the other gold I got was nothing more than a dupe of Trey’s (from Final Fantasy Type-0) 5-star Glint Soul Break. Meh.

But it’s fine. The presence of Tidus’s Sync on this pull more than makes up for this useless dupe.

A 10 years old primary school student. Being magical girl, she has been fighting for the goods, but with how the world is in peace, she is out of job and has a lot of free time. Recently she bought a machine called "smartphone" and started doing livestream with it.

Personality

Chihiro is generally cheerful, sweet, and fun-loving. She takes her work very seriously and loves her fans dearly. She tries to connect with her viewers as best as she is able to, even if the viewer speaks in a language she does not understand. Though she tries to keep things upbeat, she is actually a self-proclaimed introvert and feels at loss when dealing with new people. She also has moments when she feels shy and gets discouraged.

She is well-known for her tremendous streaming stamina, especially when playing Apex Legends for 12 or more hours in one seating.

As a big fan of Apex Legends game, she has participated in several tournaments and sometimes she was asked to be the in-game leader. There were moments where she was so frustrated with her gameplay that she ended up crying.

She has long, periwinkle hair in two braided pigtails and an ahoge with blue eyes. She also has periwinkle bow shaped hair ribbons and a mostly periwinkle and white dress with ribbons and frills. She has white gloves with a pink wrist outline.

Background

On 11 January 2018, Ichikara Inc. announced that it was recruiting "Official Virtual Livers" to serve as representatives for its iPhoneX app, NIJISANJI.[3] Chihiro's YouTube channel was created on 1 February 2018, and her Twitter account was created the same month. Her first tweet was made on 1 February 2018.

On 9 February 2018, Chihiro uploaded her first YouTube video. Later that day, she streamed for the first time as part of a relay with the other Virtual Livers on Mirrativ.[4]

On 27 June, Chihiro reached 50,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.[5]

Retirement

On 12 December, it was announced that Yuki Chihiro would graduate by 31 January 2024.[27] The sales of her goods, voice packs, and contents would be ceased gradually, while the fan letter would still be accepted until 29 February 2024. Her graduation marked first liver to graduate from NIJISANJI's 1st generation.

On 16 January, she appeared in VARK live event "Heaven girl’s & Virtual Baiser" along with Moira, Hanabatake Chaika, and Joe Rikiichi.

On 6 June, Chihiro, along with Kuzuha and Kanae, appeared in the APEX Legends Global Series APAC North Finals as guest MCs for the pre-tournament event, and as well as players for the Arena Battle Twitter campaign. After the Arena Battle, they were able to amass around ¥651,000 worth of amazon gift cards that will be given to 21 random viewers who applied for the campaign.

On 18 July, she participated in Apex Legends "FFL SELeCT Cup" as "Team Yuuki Chihiro" along with Shomaru (SunSister God) and Tosh1 (ORTHROS MAGICAL). The team took 15th place in overall ranking.[31]

On 23 July, she participated in Apex Legends "Crazy Raccoon Cup #6" as team "Mochimochi Manta Maria Gou" (もちもちまんたマリア号) along with Mondo (Crazy Raccoon) and Shiromanta (mangaka). The team too 2nd place in overall ranking.[32]

On 31 October, she appeared in the first NIJISANJI 1st generation concert "initial step in NIJISANJI" along with her fellow Ikkisei Shusshin.

On 19 December, she participated in Apex Legends "Zeroichi Cup" as team "Namae wa mada nai" (なまえはまだない, No Name Yet) along with Elu and Asumi Sena. The tournament consisted of 4 races and the team took 9th, 5th, 18th, and 16th place for each races.

On 5 February, she participated in Apex Legends "Reignite Cup #4 ～VS MONSTERS For Million Prize～" as team "Chipputoden" (ちっぷとデーン, CpD) along with Eden and Depp. The team took 18th place in overall ranking.[38]

She is an 18-year-old girl who was transformed into a child when she accepted a contract to become a magical girl. She wears a magical blue girl dress with two ribbons and a pair of white gloves.

She is eternally 10 years old but can change her age and gender with magic. When she becomes a boy she refers to herself as "Chii-kun".

She has three forms. Her 10 y.o self (which she uses the most), her 18 y.o avatar who often referred as Chii-san, and her male persona Chii-kun.

These three forms play a pivotal role in her Grand Theft Auto V streams. Her 10 y.o self is used when playing as Michael, Chii-san as Franklin, and Chii-kun as Trevor. She will switch forms depending on the character being played.

She is the eldest daughter of three siblings; a younger brother who sometimes joins her on her Apex Legends stream and a younger sister.
