Omegaverse ~ Task Force 141+ Alejandro, Rodolfo, König
Warnings: Mostly SFW with a dash of NSFW (MINORS BEGONE)
Author Notes: These are gonna be short and I apologize for it but YALL THE WRITING JUICE IS DRYING UP, so once again I'm sorry. These are also my own interpretations of these characters but feel free to add on top of them. I also wanna thank @l-lend and @kelpiesummer for helping me with these, your honor I love them both.
Before we begin I would like to go over some baseline stuff to this:
In Military pack dynamics there is a Lead Alpha and a Lead Beta, and if the Alpha isn't present it is the Beta’s duty to oversee the safety of the pack.
Apex Alphas do exist here but they only make up 10% of the population, and are often ridiculed due to them being able to control a vast majority of Alphas. They are also much stronger and much bigger than regular Alphas with much stronger instincts. In modern society it's often damning should one be born an Apex because they often have to wear muzzles in public because of their unpredictability.
An Apex’s muzzle is only taken off when they are alone, mated, or receive immunity by extended military service to prove they are not a danger to anyone.
To add on about an Apex, their Ruts become stronger the longer they don't relieve built up tension over time. It has even been recorded that Apexes with no outlet have often become feral and cannot be helped out of a feral state. All Apexes MUST have a physical outlet to reduce built up tension.
All dynamics are able to become Feral, and in this universe there is not enough data to help an individual out of said feral state and will have to be sent to a designated center for proper care.
Apexes, Alphas, and Omegas are able to control themselves decently should a Rut or Heat arrive. Should one help out with these times, consent must be given beforehand and with a trusted individual. Not everyone here is driven to wackiness because of hormones
In the Military, there are often teams that are used for Ruts and Heats of all calibers, they are made up of trained Betas and are the only ones allowed to handle single Apex, Alpha, and Omega dynamics who are in a Heat or Rut.
Simon “Ghost” Riley
Tumblr media
Simon I feel like would be an Alpha, simply because of his size and his ability to lead soldiers like a well oiled machine. He didn't start feeding into his alpha nature until he joined the Royal Army after the attacks on 9/11, mostly because his father would punish him and his family should anyone try to stand up to him. Once Simon completed his training he shows his father what a true Alpha is and acts like, and ends up kicking him out of the house before assuming the role as the protector of his family.
After losing his family and “Simon Riley” being now pronounced dead he started to hide his true nature and his scent. While his scent is practically nonexistent it didn't stop him from the commanding and somewhat protective nature of his inner Alpha. In the Ghost’s mind, no scent and repressing that inner Alpha, is the best way to begin a nonexistent life; to become nothing more but a living shadow.
In a Rut:
To describe Simon in a rut would be a very self protective Alpha, not wanting anyone with a 5 mile radius near him to ensure no one discovers his identity. And in order to safeguard that fact he ends up going to a secluded safehouse far from base to ensure not a single person can find him in such a vulnerable state. During this time he does believe it's better for him to be alone as the worry of losing himself after being pent up for so long could only cause him more trouble on top of someone finding out Simon Riley isn't as dead as they claim.
But to say he's a virgin would be a complete lie, he’s been with omegas before and many were in heat so he understands a little about omegas but nothing really outside a heat. With that being said he often craves an omega during his ruts, but after becoming the Ghost he doesn't actively seek them anymore. But if he did have an omega (maybe even you) helping him out he would definitely be very dominant, constantly on lookout after having sated both his needs and whoever is helping him. If you're close with him, he begins to show a more doting characteristic that he claims isn't there such as getting you what snack you're craving or bringing in more blankets for your heat nest.
John “Soap” MacTavish
Tumblr media
Now this Scott probably doesn't strike you as an Alpha, but I assure you he is 100% Alpha blood though and through. Johnny is definitely a more playful alpha compared to the rest of his team but that doesn't stop him from trying to get them to loosen up and have fun. He's even been told many didn't think he was an Alpha at their first introduction, with his fun and very caring personality he's been more mistaken as an Omega rather than an Alpha.
But that never once hurt his feelings, and has even offered to show he’s the real deal if you catch my drift. It also means he loves to show off to whoever might be watching whether they are Male, Female, Omega, Alpha, or even a Beta. His only hard NO would be an Apex of any gender, he may not have met any but there is definitely a stereotype amongst Apexes.
In a Rut:
Before anyone starts to make assumptions that he's pretty dominant in bed and during a rut that's only a half truth. While yes his body is telling him to dominate during that time he isn't fully into it, he is actually more of a switch and can be pretty needy during this time. He wants to cuddle about 90% of the time because the skin on skin helps bring his brain back to a safe place where hormones don't dictate his every move.
Johnny definitely isn't a virgin and has actually had many partners of all second genders besides apexes in his bed at least once. He can definitely say he knows his way around anybody that decides to help him in a rut but once he's sated it's straight pampering for his partner. Once you get to know him better he actually wants to play fight with you more after you're both satiated for a bit, Johnny claims it's to help build a bond between the two for you.
Kyle “Gaz” Garrick
Tumblr media
Before anyone yells at me for making Gaz a Beta hear me out. In a pack like Task Force 141 there needs to be a Lead Alpha and a Lead Beta that takes up for the Lead Alpha should they not be present in a situation. But our sweet Kyle definitely is the voice of reason between the original four, should the Alpha’s hormones and instincts cloud one's judgment Kyle would help set the record straight and see both sides to the coin. He’s definitely the more laid back one of the group but he can get a little wild should he need to, I mean the guy was hanging upside down under a helicopter while going down an active highway.
While he might be the more laid back one, that doesn't exactly mean he isn't a little trickster. He likes to rile Soap up before he gets told to stop which often leads to someone getting sent to the medbay, while he does mess with Ghost and Price he doesn't take it too far because not only are they Alphas they also happen to be higher in the chain of command. Kyle has stated before that it's just easier to pick on Johnny because they are both the same rank, and that Soap is the one who actually wants to up the intensity or stakes to whatever they are doing.
I'm just gonna add this in on this part to say since Betas don’t have Heats or Ruts I won't have a Rut part for Gaz. But that doesn't mean that this man doesn't get any. To anyone who has ever met him, they can say he’s super helpful during those times and has even offered to help should they need it. But that is only to a select few, he mostly just makes sure you don't die from starvation or dehydration and will even run messages and updates back and forth on whatever you want to know or need during that time.
John Price
Tumblr media
Our captain in tight fitting camo is not just an Alpha he's The Alpha of Task Force 141, his presence is calm yet demanding attention from anyone who crosses his path. That being said, he isn't one to outright snap at anyone who gets on his nerves, but rather lets them make a fool of themselves. He will only ever step in if his team or his own safety starts being questioned around an individual or in a certain area. He is always aware of everyone under his charge and does the best he can to ensure they all make it back home safe, although they aren't scratch less sometimes but alive nonetheless.
While John is a leader and an officer he makes sure he has an end time to the mountains of paperwork on his desk. Should he have someone at home waiting for him, he makes sure to keep them updated on his whereabouts but once he's in the security of his own four walls his top priority is only them. John has been known to go off the radar sometimes while at home, but it's mostly because when he's home he doesn't want work knocking at his door when he's got other priorities. Overall this man is sweet as he can be, in his own rough way, and all he ever really wants to do is just love and pamper his mate like it might be the last time.
In a Rut:
Right off the bat he tells you he might be a bit much during this time of the year, but it's much more different than what you'd expect from an Alpha of his standing. While most of the time he's peachy with being the dominant one in bed, if the Rut is strong and he just came home all he wants is for you to take control. He will mostly complain that it's because he's “Getting old as crap” but you set that aside and simply say it's ok to let someone else take control. John just wants to be pampered in his Ruts mostly because every other time he has to be taking care of someone else.
Now if he goes into Rut while he's on extended leave and has the energy of a young buck, better buckle up then honey cause you're just gonna have to ride it out. The easiest way to say what he is in bed would be a switch but personally it isn't that simple. Personally I do believe that John can be dominant but with his line of work and his responsibilities it takes it out of him even with a rut, he wants to be dominant but simply put the man is tired most of the time. So in order to make up for it he is very caring of his partner, he wants to provide and protect his partner. John is by far one of the sweetest Alphas out there but don't tell anyone that, he has a reputation to uphold back on base.
Alejandro Vargas
Tumblr media
This FINE Latino man is without a doubt an Alpha, with his ability to be both cunning and devious in his line of work he can make sure the job is done. While he might be unforgiving to his enemies, anyone that is a previous lover or his mate can say that he is a hopeless romantic. He showers and pampers his lovers with anything they could ever desire, Alex wants to show that he is a perfect caregiver and provider to their needs.
While he might not be a stereotypical Alpha, he can still effectively protect his mate and his pack should some catch the wrong side of him. He’s a protector and has even said that he “Will fight to his very last breath as long as it means you are all protected in the end.'' With that it's easy to say Alejandro is a very selfless person to those he trusts and will ensure all are properly protected and provided for should they come under his protection and care as the Lead Alpha.
In a Rut:
Imma say it now, Alejandro actually feeds into that inner Alpha during this time. He wants to release all that built up tension into the form of rough sex should anyone help him out. He only ever has someone with him if he knows it's bad and has no mate or anyone special, but if he does have a mate they are gonna be covered in bruises and love bites and probably bred after it. Also without a doubt he's bound to become more aggressive than normal, but again he is simply acting on instincts. However that aggression will never be used against you that could potentially hurt you.
Maybe after a few rounds Alejandro does feel like he's able enough to check on his partner, he goes to town should they need aftercare, snacks, or a shower. He kisses on deep bruises he's left along your skin, helps wash your hair and body, even makes sure you're properly fed even if he's the one who is in Rut.
Rodolfo Parra
Tumblr media
Once again please no one yell at me for this decision, but I do feel like Rudy would also be a Beta as he works closely with Colonel Vargas as his second in command. After growing up with Alejandro, they both decided to stay together after their basic training and fight for justice in Las Almas. Wherever you see Alejandro, Rodolfo is never far behind updating the Lead Alpha should news come up over the radios from their team.
Rudy is also more alongside the more nurturing nature, he wants his team safe and will do anything to protect them. His team is his Pack and without them Rudy has nothing left, that being said he tries to improve whatever he can as the Lead Beta for Los Vaqueros. I can also say without a doubt Rudy is also the most loving person to whoever is his mate, but this isn't one sided as he also wants all the love and adoration from his mate just as much. He is a lover by nature but he also wants to be bathed and be told that he is doing a good job and a lover and a mate.
And while again Rudy may be a Beta and doesn't have a Rut it doesn't mean he is inexperienced, He chooses to wait and is actually very selective of potential partners that he shares such intimate moments with. But if you ask Alejandro he can tell you Rudy has had some drunken one night stands that makes the Beta beat red at just their mentioning.
König
Tumblr media
Our lorge Austrian man here is one of the lesser known dynamics that makes up only 10% of the world's population; An Apex. Truly it's no surprise that this man right here would be anything less, but in König’s personal opinion it's nothing but a curse. Ever since he presented he was mocked and shamed for his second gender, it was much worse when the government sent his family a muzzle for him to wear in public. It was nothing short of humiliating, it even was something else for him to be bullied for. The bullying was also the reason why  König has deep scars around his face from the muzzle digging in, some of them because his bullies often pulled on the straps to where it was too tight.
Over the years König became more and more anxious around others, there were very limited times the large man would go out into public because he knew people would turn him away simply for his second gender. And due to the large amount of prejudice it was hard to find both a pack and a mate that would accept him, that was until you barreled into his life (literally) that he felt like someone would love him. He's a very caring Apex that goes above and beyond for his mate, there were often times he would stay on his knees and would hardly make eye contact with you. His worst fear is you realizing you don't want an Apex as a mate and leaving, he honestly thinks his heart would stop beating if you did.
In a Rut:
Now this is where he really fears himself most of all. His ruts were strong and they only continued to grow the longer he kept denying himself release with someone else. But when he was assigned to KorTac they allowed him an alternative way to help him during ruts, by sending him on solo operations to let loose on the supposed targets. But again all this was before you showed up.
After you started to share Ruts and Heats together you realized that an Apex was really just a bigger Alpha, and one who wanted nothing more to provide for you. Now while I love König being an absolute sweetheart, that's not how he is during a Rut. König is demanding and can often be rough the first few times but it's only because he never had someone to spend it with, he does end up becoming much softer and sweeter after a while. You thought König was a big soft boi during this time for your first few couplings, nope his brain is empty besides the words Mate, Breed, and Protect for an entire week (good luck walking after that). And if anyone thinks otherwise y'all meet me in the Burger King parking lot at midnight.

have been feeling listless and unmoored re: sims stuff lately, but i got a healthy dose of inspiration from @warwickroyals & @prydainroyals this past week, so i did a little succession / magazine-ish thing :^) obviously beatriz's 2023 death would be commemorated in uspanian vogue !!!!! obviously !!!!
transcribed text below:
Fashion is a Royal (and Family) Affair
That Crown Princess Barbie is a student of Uspanian style isn’t a surprise. For this issue, she recounts the historical episode at the heart of our memorial for the late Queen Beatriz. Pictured above in private photos are: Mother Desideria in 1860; Mother Zuriñe in 1885; Mother Rowena and then-Crown Prince Alfonso in 1926.
THE “BIRDIE” ISSUE OF VOGUE USPANA debuted in 1973. At the time, the magazine was in its infancy. An issue shaped by the queen—and it was, from cover to cover, driven by her desires and presence—ensured longevity. It proved to be a bestseller. Clothes, too, flew off the racks as Uspana’s designers received a boost among popular consumers. A textiles renaissance commenced among women of a certain class who had been looking elsewhere for quality fabric. Then and now, this was the mission of the magazine: loyalty to Uspanian fashion. The Birdie issue was a testament to this, from the sensibilities it imparted to the sourcing of its materials. The queen’s favorite designers, stylists, and photographers filled the issue; it made them iconic, and they would continue to set national trends for decades to come. More importantly, the Birdie issue fit into a larger project underway during Beatriz’s reign. Foreign fashion’s creep into the Uspanian mainstream had started two centuries before Beatriz obtained the Crown, but it reached its cultural apex under the sway of her mother. Uspana’s people had long reviled Queen Rowena’s taste in one breath and wished to emulate it in the second. The two women were not seemingly opposed in a diametric sense. They overlapped under the label of “extravagant,” namely, but Beatriz was forgiven her excess. The Birdie issue, in retrospect, shows why. In an initial meeting with the queen, she told then-editor Lluc Soler that she cared deeply about a “revival” of traditional fashion in the country. Soler replied that traditional fashion was alive and well—“in the mountains, with the grandmothers.” Some in the annals have suggested that this retort led to control of the issue being ceded informally to a team with whom the queen preferred to work. (By 1975, Papan Ibarra had risen from those ranks to become the magazine’s new editor-in-chief, a position she occupied until 1991.) Nonetheless, a certain truth in Soler’s statement formed the foundation of the issue. It did draw heavy inspiration from those grandmothers in the mountains. This included people such as the queen’s own grandmother, Mother Zuriñe, who readily embraced the aesthetics of Yaas and was a master weaver in her own right. The cover reflected the elevated homage orchestrated within. On it, Birdie herself posed in a wool rebozo hand-dyed with cochineal. This garment was a perfect duplicate of the so-called suncloths the queen’s great-grandmother, Mother Desideria, wore on a regular basis in the late nineteenth century. Fittingly, it was also topped with a replica inspired by the time. One of the many jewelry pieces destroyed during the 1880s had been the Shield Flower tiara with its red fire opal set in gold and symbolic allusions to the sacrifice and self-immolation of Uspana’s founding mothers. Queen Beatriz wore tiaras on many occasions, but it was widely known that she preferred to wear the true Uspanian symbol of elite regalia: the jade necklace. For that reason, jade

So about Solid Snake being in Fortnite...
Tumblr media
by Faint_Kitten
I got into Fortnite in December 2023 for the first time. I just unlocked Snake and I have so many thoughts on it I can't completely break them all down. But I think I've done my best.
But the #1 thing I think I want everyone to know is: Despite shaving off his ass. Despite being artistically bankrupt and pushed out by Konami and Epic as a means to make money and promote the MGS Vol 2 collection.
Despite artistically, and Narratively being antithetical to Metal Gear Solid…
Snake being in Fortnite feels mechanically and tonally consistent with his legacy.
There is so much inherent "Kojima" in Metal Gear Solid. This weird blend of hyper realism, mixed with anime siliness, mixed with philosophy mixed with trying way too hard to be sombre while also mechanically being silly and then you spin around three times to puke, or Johnny does a big poop fart and all of it adds to the weird just Kojima-esque nature of the series. It extends to the love, the fandom and the humor around Metal Gear Solid. So many memes around Snake, between fan art, in jokes, and original Animations and gifs that it doesn't feel THAT weird to see him do like a...Naruto Run emote. So much of Metal Gear Solid* was a very serious drama taking place in a game that mechanically is silly and lets you do goofy shit and has elaborate bro fist handshakes played deadly serious. And Fortnite is a game where you have these characters doing goofy shit that doesn't mesh with who they are or the universe they came from all the fucking time.
You also have to realize the Battle Royale mode has big locations full of NPC's and Bosses you can kill for loot.
Tumblr media
The "narrative" as it is of Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 1 is (near as I can tell) that Peely the Banana has been kidnapped by the Society (who serve as the current skins for this season and AI controlled bosses and NPC's on locations of the map.) And the map is littered with their fortresses with Jonesy (I guess the main character?) Going up against them to get his friend back. Which means there are a handful of locations in the current Fortnite Map that are just Boss bases. These are bunkers, and huge mansions and little outposts that you have to be careful around because once they know you're there they will just start spawning endless enemies to try and kill you, and the attention WILL draw enemy players. So you're shooting out cameras for XP and to keep them from beeping, avoiding turrets to keep from alerting guards and keep them from chewing up your health.
Guards already had the "?" and "!" system for showing if they detected you, despite having no inherent stealth mechanics in the game or any intention of introducing MGS. They didn't do this FOR an MGS tie in. There are recruitable companions and they can't speak so a way for players and enemies to detect if their companion "senses" an enemy player is to use the "?" and "!" system. While it doesn't mean that much without him. This is very clearly taken from Metal Gear, and as a result the alert system feels very natural around Snake.
In game modes where you have teams of two three or Four players, you get downed like Gears of War or Apex, and have to be revived. You can crawl and move. But players who are on their feet can pick you up and sling you over their back, or even yeet you to safety.
Enemy Players can do this too.
When I play Team modes by myself (I am alone, everyone else is in a team) I frequently pick enemies who wandered off of their pack and pick them off, tossing them somewhere their team mates can't get to or won't find them specifically to draw them in to their rescue.
Additionally there IS wildlife to hunt: Chickens, Frogs and Fish which give you medium effect healing items.
The game has items you can put on to "disguise yourself" like bushes, or snowmen during christmas that work EXACTLY like the card board boxes in MGS (though it's debatable if players are convinced by anything but the bush)
Tumblr media
All of this was going on BEFORE Snake was unlockable. (I don't know if the camera's and bosses stuff existed before this season)
Which means that MECHANICALLY. Snake doesn't feel out of place at all in Fortnite.
It's super weird when a Xenomorph, or Spiderman, or a Ninja Turtle, or Goku, or a teen from My hero Academia, or Eleven from stranger things comes in and starts mowing people down with an assault rifle. The disconnect is part of the charm for better or worse, and it's both amusing and horrifyingly upsetting when you think about these characters sold as nothing but IP to get rich off of being so taken out of context from their character's intended art, themes and meaning.
It's just weird to see bright bubbly Mina from My Hero shooting people dead. Spiderman doesn't kill people, that's the Punisher, it's fucking weird to have Spiderman just gunning people down, if you get my gist.
It's super fucking weird to see these characters handle a fire arm and move around in a shooter. They feel less like themselves and more like what they are: A skin of a popular thing, plugged into a world to please fans and rake in money. It's fucking weird to see Spider-man holding a firearm.
It is NOT weird to watch Solid Snake do it. As a result of this, Snake kind of slips into the absurd world of Fortnite rather well.
It feels kind of cool strip snake of all like falling trail effects and just watch him super-hero sky dive toward a giant compound full of NPC's and land on the roof (It looks cooler in the dead of night but I didn't get a screenshot of it)
Tumblr media
It's not weird to experience Snake in Fortnite's world handling Fortnite's mechanics. Because so many of the mechanics and the tone feels distinctly normal for Metal Gear Solid. This is not the first time Snake has been pawned out as a mascott to other properties.
It's weird as hell to watch Kratos blow a car up with a rocket launcher. That is not a part of his world, you see. It's NOT weird to watch Snake fire an RPG at anything. It's not weird to watch Snake do a bulk of the things he can do in Fortnite.
It's not weird to watch Snake run around a forest and shoot a frog or hunt a chicken for it's meat because we've played Snake Eater
Tumblr media
It's not weird to hide in a bush as Snake:
Tumblr media
It's not weird to watch snake shoot someone or Reload a fire-arm. The Snowy Mountains bases, the outposts, the big mansions and small cities the open world all feel like places Snake has been at home in, from Shadow Moses, to the Middle East, it's not unusual to see Snake* surrounded by girders and steps and concrete and cabins and tents and forrests etc. It's not weird to watch Snake pick someone up who's downed and carry them over his shoulder, or chuck them into a closet: We've seen this in MGS V: The Phantom Pain. Metal Gear Solid kind of invented a lot of these mechanics.
Tumblr media
There isn't that much about Snake in the following footage seems out of place for Metal Gear Solid:
Snake doesn't feel out of place in fortnite. It might feel sacriligious for the biggest thing in gaming adding snake (with no cheeks I might add) to it's roster to be eyerolling or cringe. But Snake doesn't feel "too good" for fortnite. But he also doesn't feel like a total shill in fortnite either. A lot of the gear and missions and challengees to unlock him felt like a someone was asked to put together activities at a Metal Gear Solid themed birthday party (Use hiding spots. Shoot out 2 cameras. Fire an RPG, shoot silenced weapons, uses the disguise mechanics, travel in the disguise items. hack Trains or Vaults) the Emote could have easily been just the alert noise over Snake's head, but they put it on a freaking stick, Wile E Coyote style.
There's a weird Fortnite blend of "Lets make something as cheaply as possible in some places and yet give some things the love and attention that comes from making 5billion in revenue a year affords you." that shows up in everything they do. And they clearly put a lot more effort into this promotion than they did the Family guy stuff (not that I care one way or the other about Family guy I'm just calling it like I see it.) To be honest Snake has been shilled out to so many other games for cross promotion over the years this is hardly his first.
Snake has been blended with many things like Ape Escape, Smash Bros, and Monster Hunter. Seeing him along other games and even other characteres not of MGS's worldbuilding doesn't feel that odd. Snake has kind of left his "world" behind many times. Which is...kind of in keeping with Snake being this cipher? This character the player slips on. Snake is a character an icon but he's also this THING puppeted by us. A lot of games work to break this illusion to make us forget we're not Kratos, or We're not Nathan Drake but ever since Metal Gear Solid 1 Kojima's writing has been pretty clear there's "something" that drives snake. Not motivationally, but literally piloting him giving him what he needed to succeed (us). To put it simply. Snake has always been a bit Meta as a character. And it's hard to see liscenced characters (sold for up to 15 dollars a pop) as themselves when we're piloting them telling them to drink slurp juice out of jars, or swing a pickaxe or or sing "The Real Slim Shady" or do cutesy Jpop dances. All of this is to say, having played MGS 1 through TPP: nothing about this gameplay feels that out of character for Metal Gear aside from the cartoony art style. The look and feel of Fortnite naturally lends itself to having Snake as a Playable character in it. Narratively, Thematically, Fortnite is almost antithetical to Metal Gear Solid. But tonally, and mechanically, it feels in keeping with the series.
Part of this is just the fact that Kojima's games have always been ahead of the curve when it comes to what you can do in gameplay and so many of these things were adopted by gaming later that slotting Snake back into mechanics his games inspired just doesn't feel disjointed. So many games have copied Metal Gear Solid over the years and became main stream. MGS has also had it's own unique air owing to both Kojima's own unique style and the weirdness/humor brought about as the game tries very seriously to balance it's story and themes against poop jokes, and mechanics that are often very silly but very fun and a total detachment from the poe faced somberness snake goes for or is possibly trying to mock. This, overall is a chunk of what makes metal gear feel like metal gear. The mechanics of Fortnite feel eerily comparable to the mechanics of later Metal Gear games (especially MGS V) .
And the tonal disconnect between what Metal Gear games are doing as a plot, and the inherent nonsense the mechanics provide contrasting it, have always been a part of MGS and it's charm, and that's kind of what makes Fortnite the thing it is today? You have a very serious plot about war and the military and a gravely voiced man and then in the corner a Vampire man does a big dance, and large bi-pedal mechs moo like cows. It's why any time any popular thing is announced in fortnite it kind of becomes a joke. Very serious Rapper Eminem is in Fortnite, and has his personal OC Slim Shady as a playable skin, and he's shoving his hand in Pinata's and chugging slurp juice, it's kind of weird to see someone who takes themself so seriously dancing at the whims of whoever controls him. But that's been a core part of Metal Gear and the Metal Gear Solid Franchise, and the fandom forever. I dunno. I'm not trying to defend the fact that Fortnite is a center for companies to strip their IP of all love and meaning and sell it to us as pure nostalgia and profit. I'm just trying to say I was surprised by how weirdly normal (and to be honest kind fun) it felt to run around RPing Solid Snake in fortnite and I've been at it all day. As someone who originally didn't care one way or the other, and felt kind of cynical about such a beloved character being absorbed into this mess: I'm kinda glad he's here now.
*I know Snake and Big Boss (and by extension Venom/Punished Snake/Boss) are all different characters. But for the sake of this discussion I dipped in and out of talking about Solid Snake and "Snake" (any) as a whole in Metal Gear as a whole

Some Ideas/Headcanons for Abraxasverse GxK!
So, after having seen The New Empire, I already already have quite a few ideas for how it could fit into the Abraxasverse! I’ll write up a more thorough breakdown of how I’d do it sometime soon, but I figured I might as well start with some of the basic ideas. So, here goes!
- Just for a bit of context, I’m going by @zerm2v0hg’s awesome “Clash of Silver” fic as how the Abraxasverse’s version of GvK would’ve played out.
- Since GxK takes place in 2027, I’d have Ladon be officially introduced in 2025 and Shin in 2026 (both as Godzilla clones created by Apex), so they would both play a role in this version. Kiryu’s new body might still be under construction (since it took 5-10 years to build Mechagodzilla in canon, so I don’t know if 3 years would be enough time to finish building his second body after the first one sadly got destroyed in Clash of Silver), so I don’t know if I’d have him play a major role here, but either way his new body’s construction would be overseen by Project Powerhouse, the same division of Monarch that creates Kong’s new gauntlet in the movie. Maybe Ren Serizawa would be in charge of that project in this timeline, now that he’s not working for Apex anymore?
- For the events of The Hunted, I’d probably have it go pretty much the same way as canon, but I do love the idea of having Monster X be the one to go up against the Hunter mech rather than Kong, just because that way they’d be able to give Raymond Martin (aka Dickhead Tech-Bro) a Reasons You Suck speech while beating the crap out of his second-rate Jaeger ripoff.
- Scylla & Tiamat would probably still end up getting into fights with Godzilla or one of his sons, but while Scylla might still end up dying if the events of The Hunted play out similarly here, Tiamat probably wouldn’t, assuming that the potential backstory of her having a connection to Ozymandias is actually Abraxasverse canon.
- To give Godzilla & his allies more to do in the Abraxasverse version of GxK, I feel like it would make sense to incorporate the Xenilla arc into this portion of the timeline. So I’d have him land on the surface and start causing trouble for Team Godzilla at around the same time that Kong discovers Skar King’s hidden empire in the Hollow Earth, which would eventually lead to the final battle being a three-way battle royale between the Scarred Apes’ army (led by Skar King & Shimo), the heroic Titans (particularly Godzilla’s family, Monster X & Kong), and Xenilla.
- In this timeline, instead of Mothra being the guardian Titan of the Hollow-Earth Iwi civilization, it would be Leo. To me, that seems like a perfect way for him to be introduced into the Abraxasverse: as Godzilla & Mothra’s offspring who was born thousands of years ago, took up residence in the Hollow Earth during the Ice Age, and essentially “adopted” the surviving Iwi tribe after Skar King presumably abandoned them at some point. I’d also ditch the “prophecy” angle from the canon movie for Jia and just focus on her other connections with Kong & the Iwi, as Mothra already has a human link in the form of the Chen family.
- Godzilla’s transformation wouldn’t just be a random evolution/powerup; instead, it would be a side effect of his being badly wounded & infected by Xenilla during their first fight. Mothra would narrowly manage to cure & heal him (after taking him to Tiamat’s Arctic lair so he could absorb a bunch of extra radiation to fuel the healing process), but his appearance would still be permanently altered as a result. That’s where the elbow & tail spikes and the new color of his energy would come from, as he’d end up assimilating some of the crystal’s power for himself. As a beneficial side effect, his new form would also be immune to any further infection attempts by the Crystal Cordyceps.
- In keeping with that idea, Abraxasverse Xenilla would basically look like a fusion of the classic SpaceGodzilla and a more advanced version of Godzilla’s Evolved form, with white crystal spikes & plates, longer spikes on his elbows & tail, and red bioluminescence (to fit with the idea that the pink color of Goji’s Evolved form is a side effect of his partially undergoing that process but stopping it halfway through). I think it could also look really cool if he has crystal wings that unfold from his body when he needs to fly, and reform into a layer of extra armor around his torso when he’s on the ground. For how they’d look, I’m thinking maybe something like an all-white version of Tabuu’s crystal wings from the Super Smash Bros video games.
Tumblr media
- Shimo would actually be the key to taking down Xenilla once she’s freed from Skar King’s control, as the heroes eventually discover that while Xenilla’s crystal armor has adapted to resist Godzilla’s atomic breath, it’s highly vulnerable to Shimo’s ice-breath. As a result, it ends up being a tag-team effort from her, Godzilla & Mothra (plus Ozzy managing to fight back from within) that ultimately brings the parasite down for good. It’s tragic, of course, given their past relationships with him, but they’re able to take some comfort in the fact that their victory also allows Ozzy’s spirit to finally rest in peace.
A longer, more in-depth breakdown of what I’ve got in mind will be coming soon, but I figured I’d see what you thought of the main bullet-points first. 😄
Oooh, here we go!
I've actually reached a point where I'm willing to call The Clash of Silver a part of AbraxasVerse canon. Hey, @zerm2v0hg! Have some canonization, as a treat!
Yeah, Kiryu being out of commission for a while makes sense, and it feels fitting that he'd be handled by Project Powerhouse. Ren could definitely use a job at Powerhouse after how his gig at Apex ended... and hopefully a therapist, depending on how he's been handling the whole "nearly got electrocuted to death and something happened to his brain but he doesn't know what".
AbraxasVerse Raymond Martin I feel can definitely stand to be less cartoonishly evil than his comic counterpart; maybe instead of gleefully trying to kill a pair of cubs after slaughtering their mother, his trauma from 2014 has reached the point where he simply can't stand seeing a happy family, human or monster, because it gets into his head that that ought to be him and his family. He's still a douchebag tech-bro who hates the Titans and would probably consider Monster X a traitor of sorts for embracing their new monster existence, he's just more clearly a broken man futilely raging against forces of nature because that's all he knows what to do now.
Scylla in MonsterVerse canon is a real nasty piece of work and while AbraxasVerse Scylla is comparatively better, I won't feel bad if she still ends up dying as a result of Martin's nonsense causing her nuclear feeding frenzy; this would be a good way for Ladon and Shin to make an impression on the world, that they're willing to fight to maintain the worldly balance just like their dad. Tiamat however has potential thanks to the Ozymandias backstory and I feel she can be better utilized in AbraxasVerse, especially in light of @tosho89's ritual idea...
Xenilla showing up here would be cool... maybe he was sent out to scout the planet in case a Titan of comparable power to Ozymandias has shown up in the time since that abduction? Leo being the Hollow Earth Iwi guardian could be a neat way to tie in MV!Mothra's reworking Phosphora/Phosphera's (how is that supposed to be spelled?) placeholder role without being too jarring.
Huh, Goji nearly getting infected is a GREAT idea for the sake of tension and sheer "oh SHIT" factor! He goes out of commission for a bit while Mothra heals him and Tiamat does her ritual, and he returns to the fore more powerful than ever... at the cost of becoming a beacon for the nefarious forces behind Xenilla's existence to home in on. And I am ALL FOR Shimo having more to do!
Cool ideas all around! I'm looking forward to seeing what else you've got!

got any tips for starting out on apex (im trying my damnest for the banner but team-based games has me nervous 😔)
its very tough, apex has a very steep learning curve unfortunately.
generally i would say you should drag another friend to it so you have someone closer to your skill level to not feel as nervous and if youre in a server that can queue in duos i recommend that because its less people to account for. but tbf you're stuck with only one person so it might have a bit more of pressure, that one is really up to how you feel about it.
theres not a lot i can tell you through an ask because most of the skills comes from muscle memory and experience, but some basic stuff is
be mindful of the rings. try to stay out of the middle of the ring as possible (unless theres a fight and you/your teammates want to fight, that one is hard to do in early match)
go to the training range and get a good feel of the guns if you feel like you need it (im a big fan of the alternator and volt myself, good for mid and close range)
try to prioritize ring corners when the player counter is around 7 squads
rotate to high ground if its possible
learn how to use the pings
and if youre like me that gets a bit stressed when your team gets wiped, you can get out fast pressing the space bar which makes the menu to quit appear faster
this advice is very general, the fun thing of battle royales is that its a lot of improv, but you can 100% get the hang of it, its just a tad hard at the start.
what i see some new players do is to cater to the top gamer of the squad and give them stuff and support them specifically, but thats boring
and if you decide to play more regularly you can kinda get a good vibe for the strategy part of the game watching people who play better or tournaments. i used to watch aceu but his style is extremely aggresive because he is/was a proplayer so idk if he would help

Of all the Great Saves and Close Shaves in Camp Cretaceous, this is probably my favorite one.
Yaz is injured, and Toro targets that. He’s been bulling through the other campers for a few seconds now, taking his strikes here and there...but suddenly he hears Yaz hobbling away on her walking stick, and the carnivore goes “Aha! An injured one!” and he makes his move.
By rights, she should have died. By every law of nature, this is where Yaz bites it: Toro kills her, and the rest of the pack can escape to survive for another day.
But humans aren’t like that.
Instead of an easy snack, Toro gets a broken piece of pallet in the eye. Or just behind it. It’s close enough that, yeah, it actually stops a one-ton predator in his tracks because that’s wood and splinters in your eye. Thrown by a twelve-year-old kid who, despite lacking the force or skill required to actually injure the beast, has succeeding in Royally Ticking the Monster off...
...and thus draws the attention to a far more mobile and agile target as the injured party immediately hobbles to safety.
Yaz doesn’t check in with Darius, she doesn’t yell after him, she doesn’t do anything dramatic, she just takes immediate advantage of the opportunity and makes good her escape (as Darius, in accordance with the above, flees for his life from an enraged carnivore).
This is just the purest and most emblematic moment of the theme that runs throughout this show: “We’re a team, or we’re nothing at all.” If one camper dies, all six campers die. But if they all keep watching each others’ backs, then they can all survive, because they’re a young and (mostly) healthy pack of six apex predators.

man i gotta say that sometimes with video games you really dont need to reinvent the wheel. i love apex legends and i have since launch but i gotta admit i often have to be in the mood for the battle royale gameplay. however somewhere along the line of me not playing for several months if not a year theyve added a rotating secondary gameplay mode that rotates between gun game, team deathmatch, and control points, and i fucking love it. fps games please just let me play deathmatch and gun game and i will love you.

Agatha Harkness x Fem!Reader
A/N: This is totally not inspired by my own imagination while playing cod and apex legends. Totally not.
Summary: Agatha steals your attention in a way she knows that works every damn time.
Warnings: 18+, porn without plot, strap-ons, strapwarming
Tumblr media
“Hey, hon,” Agatha greeted as she took a seat on the other side of the couch, gently grabbing your feet propped up cozily to place them on her lap. You were too occupied to reply to her, your center of attention being your phone as you were playing an online game.
The woman stares at you adoringly seeing you in your element, just enjoying yourself. A smile would find its way to her lips whenever you’d scrunch your nose whenever you had killed an enemy. You would huff and cuss under your breath if you were in a compromising situation, or if you died. Agatha had already memorized your tics whenever you’re playing.
Still, she can’t help but feel a bit ignored. You’ve been playing non-stop every day, and she misses you greatly. (But the truth is, you’re only playing for a maximum of two to three hours every night. She is just being particularly extra clingy and dramatic tonight.)
The gunshot sound effects of the game brought Agatha out of her trance. You always had earphones on. “Are you not playing with your friends, baby?”
“Yup, they’re busy, we’re gonna play tomorrow though,” you mindlessly replied, not once giving her a glance.
She licked her lips as her eyes traveled upwards to your bare legs, her palms caressing the smooth skin so deliciously laid in front of her.
“That’s a shame,” replied Agatha with fake sympathy.
“Hmm, why?”
“Because it’s more fun when you’re trying to suppress your moans. Trying desperately for your friends not to hear how much of a slut you are for mommy.”
That, along with her hand playing with the hem of your shorts, had (finally) caught your attention. You tensed; your hands froze along with your character mid-game as you watch Agatha with bated breath. You could already feel the wetness in your panties, and she hasn’t even started.
“Don’t worry, we’re still going to have a good time.”
You swear she’s going to be the death of you.
“Oh do go on, hon. You have your game; I have my toys,” the woman practically purred as she conjured her strap from thin air. Your throat suddenly became very dry.
But you knew better than to disobey her, so half of your attention went back to your phone, the remaining looking forward to what she’ll do next. You let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding.
“Why did you stop talking? Continue rambling about what’s going on in your game.”
Her hands were still teetering on your thighs and shorts, waiting until 90% of your focus goes back into the game.
“I- uh my team is in a crossfire.”
“I’m scanning the area, there are at least 3 different teams including us.”
“Shit, I didn’t notice that one of us died…” Agatha eyes you as you squinted at the screen, and judging by your game face, the brunette was sure that by now you’re back on track.
“… there are only three players per team on battle royale, and now we’re outnumbered. Tsk,” you explained, which Agatha appreciates even though she doesn’t have one clue of anything you’re saying. But you look so cute while doing so.
“Come straddle my lap, sweetheart. Mommy needs you closer to her,” she instructed, and you briefly set aside your phone to crawl towards her. In your haste to go back to the game, (you only hid behind a house in a middle of a clash and you had to go back soon or else someone will have a free kill) you didn’t notice the dildo nestled between her hips.
Once your knees were on either side of her lap, she had you stay there for a while, kneeling, your breasts on her face as your elbow rested on her shoulders to hold your phone.
“I’m almost out of bullets, I need to find more loot.”
Agatha’s hands rested on your hips to guide you down.
“I’m retrea- oh fuck,” you shuddered, a gasp escaped your lips as suddenly, you felt very full.
Agatha’s cock has filled you to the brim, the tip of the toy hitting the sweet spot inside of you conveniently.
“Hmm? You didn’t finish, baby,” the woman brushed your cheeks lovingly, her hips moderately moving as she adjusted on the couch. The movement had given you the slightest pleasure, just enough to keep you wanting more, but insufficient for you to have your release.
It took you a while to respond.
“I… I’m retreating for a while to find loots. I also want to change my gun and repair my armor.”
It’s quite uncomfortable because this is not how you sit when you’re playing (you prefer laying down or slouched.) But since we’re talking about Agatha’s lap here, and there’s nowhere else you’d rather be, you couldn’t find it in you to complain.
Agatha whispered in your ear, her breath making goosebumps trail on your neck. “Don’t you dare move, sweetie. We’re not moving until my pretty girl wins first place,” she leaned back, offering her cheek. You giggled as you gave her a peck on the cheek quickly, and then her lips just because Agatha is too irresistible not to.
She smiled against your lips, the kiss lingering longer than you planned.
The witch continued to observe you as you pulled away, the corner of her lips curling up as you frowned and your shoulders sagged.
Oh, just your luck. As you looked back on the screen, your character died. Your teammate is cornered, and then boom, you were redirected to the game lobby. You could only sigh, not even knowing what and how it happened, how fast it was, and why you didn’t even hear it happening.
But as your eyes met Agatha’s, (you definitely caught that familiar purple glow fading away) with that mischievous look and that sly grin that you wanted so badly to kiss away, you wonder if her magic could penetrate the online servers of your damn game, or even the internet itself. Who’s to say?

one thing i really like about Apex now is that they got rid of the stupid overwatch core "offense defense support" categories in favour of something that makes more sense for the battle royale gameplay
assault are offense and push oriented, skirmisher are mobility oriented, recon are enemy marking and targeting oriented, support are team assistance oriented and controller are crowd and location control oriented
all of these categories are excellent describers of what to expect in a battle royale game (respectively: pushing, getting around the map, marking enemies, helping your teammates and controlling the territory). they can bounce of each other and you can pretty much mix and match anyone. you can even pick three of the same category and win, but the way they encourage balance better with this new system rather than the previous one is really good

is the skill gap for beginners in apex bad?
its not too bad for basic movement and shooting mechanics if you have played any FPS before. its also not hard to comprehend the battle royale concept where you are put in more and more restrictive parts of the map until one team is left standing. beginners certainly have fun just running around and shooting each other, the game can genuinely be just a fun way to relax. theres a lot of little mechanics to pick up that come with time, awareness, curiosity, and analysis of other peoples gameplay (watching apex streams and stuff). if youre intellectually stimulated by long-term and short-term strategizing at all its the FPS to be playing.

I've been thinking about the way different games handle their objectives and win conditions.
Straight deathmatch style games exist, but they're only really the norm in specific genres (like fighting games or card games). Most games have fighting and/or killing the opponent as a core part of the gameplay loop, but that will often not be the primary goal because it makes gameplay too flat.
MOBAs ask that you destroy the enemy base and doing so requires that you fight and kill the enemy team, but there's not a direct correlation between you killing the enemy laner and the enemy nexus (or core or whatever I've only played League and HotS leave me alone) losing health, and that means there can be more depth with the way the map opens as turrets fall, changing the dynamics of specific areas from safe zones to places where you might get attacked at any point.
FPSs like Overwatch (look I got motion sickness halfway through my teenage years so I really only got to play a bit of Overwatch and like 20 hours of Apex leave me alone) need to give an objective for both teams to play and strategize around: what are the good spots you want to control around the objective? Where is cover situated? Are there any flank routes we or the opponents might try to use? And if you're on a map that uses a payload, the answer to these questions are constantly shifting as it progresses through the map, which makes for a much more engaging gameplay experience than just seeing which team can get to 100 kills faster or whatever.
This is also true outside of video games. In Warhammer 40k (haven't played another wargame yet and I am pretty rusty about the rules but the gist of it should remain), wiping out the enemy army does not give you an automatic victory: you have to score victory points by capturing objectives on the map and fulfilling specific objectives you chose before the game, like saying "I'm gonna kill these specific guys" from your opponent's army and getting points when you actually meet that objective. Again, it adds depth that simply would not be there if it was just about killing the opponent first: long range armies would have no incentive to just stay in cover and shoot the opponent from afar for five turns, which isn't exactly engaging. picking Tau was a mistake on my part
I've found that TTRPG combat can also fall flat when it's just about killing the other guys, especially since TTRPGs are uniquely equipped to implement objectives seeing as your characters are actively existing in a plausible fictional world: you should be able to negotiate, enemies should try to run away instead of always fighting to the death, and heck, maybe you're fighting over a McGuffin and the fight can go from "Killing everyone to get your hands on it" to "Okay I grabbed the thing everyone cover me while I get the fuck out of there".
Lancer, for instance, has a large focused on tactical combat which means its fights should have more decision points that would make them more engaging, but even despite this the core rulebook explicitly states that missions should not be straight deathmatches and instead offer interesting objectives which are mostly reminiscent of FPS objectives: take and hold a point, push a payload an important item to an extraction zone, find which of the objectives actually matter and take it before the enemies can, etc.
Something I am not sure about though is why we rarely seem able to come up with objectives that aren't "This area of the map is important so you have to control it to win". Putting important stuff somewhere will always cause fights (like in Battle Royales where the places with good loot will attract many players who will immediately start attacking each other, or the League or HotS objectives which are basically neatly packaged teamfight generators), but it feels like we should be able to find other ways to create more interesting and dynamic scenarios.
It's also worth noting that the only genres that ARE straight deathmatches in my experience, fighting games and card games, are usually 1v1 and have a core gameplay that concentrates the whole depth of the game. In a fighting game, learning your character's toolset and their matchups to continually get better IS the game. In a card game, learning about all the cards you're likely to encounter, how to pilot your deck, and how to play in each matchup is also something with enough nuance and decision-making points that you don't really need anything other than an opponent.

RAF Typhoons join the joint training exercise in the United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 11/25/2022 - 16:00 in Military
The British Royal Air Force Typhoons, from bases in the United Kingdom and the Middle East, entered the Advanced Tactical Leadership Course (ATLC) at Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates.
Pilots and support staff from the Lossiemouth RAF Base, along with experts from across the RAF, were sent to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the Advanced Tactical Leadership Course 32. This multinational air war training exercise has the participation of about 45 aircraft and 500 people, including the air forces of the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Australia, Germany, Oman, France, Greece and the RAF.
Tumblr media
Aircraft, including Typhoons, Tornadoes, F-16 and Mirage 2000, will go to the skies of the United Arab Emirates for the exercise, performing defensive and offensive counterattacks and aerial interdiction maneuvers, testing the reactions of pilots in a variety of situations.
Tumblr media
Welcoming the staff to the course, Pilot Brigadier Khalid Al Marzouqi, Commander of the United Arab Emirates Air War Center, asked all participants to make the most of the course.
Tumblr media
"This is the apex of learning and the future for the coalition flight in the real world. Take the opportunity to work with your fellow students and Allies, you have a great opportunity right now to make friends and this is a great force to meet people from other nations," said Pilot Brigadier Khalid Al Marzouqi, Commander of the United Arab Emirates Air War Center. "I would love to see everyone at the end of the course formed, flying stronger and smarter; In sha'Allah [note of ed. In the name of God]".
He thanked all the employees of the Air War Center, countries and participants who contributed to the planning of the course.
Tumblr media
"It's great to be back conducting the Advanced Tactical Leadership Course and working and flying alongside our international partners in what will be a fantastic training opportunity. The welcome we received in Al Dhafra was unparalleled ?? and the facilities here will allow us to make the most of this opportunity. This will be a busy deployment, operating in a warm and high-paced environment, but working as a team, the entire detachment will learn a lot from the Exercise and its time in the country," said Wing Commander Cockcroft, Commander Officer of Squadron 1(F) of the RAF.
The Advanced Tactical Leadership Course is a recurring exercise designed to increase the tactical proficiency of the forces of the United Arab Emirates and partner nations. The exercise develops the nations participating in the conduct of multilateral exercises while increasing their collective proficiency in joint mission planning and tactical integration. Participating nations will also develop their interoperability and collective readiness, vital to detain potential opponents.
"The Advanced Tactical Leadership Course develops the skills of participants from eight nations in the planning and conduct of combined air operations. The Advanced Tactical Leadership Course is one of the world's leading training exercises and will see RAF people plan and fly on missions involving more than 40 aircraft in a realistic and challenging scenario. The participation of the RAF will be fundamental to providing coordinated, integrated and effective training alongside our international allies and partners," said Commander of Ala Bradshaw, Senior National Representative of the United Kingdom in the United Arab Emirates.
