My art ability is broken right now, but I found a nice picrew and made some of my DreamSMP hetalia!AU OCs!
First of all: L’manburg my beloved
Tumblr media
Out of all the nations, he probably looks the most like a single founder (that founder being Wilbur). But he also has Tommy’s eyes!
L'manburg has two "eras" to his personality; Schlatt's rule changed him. Before Schlatt was elected, his personality was quite visibly similar to Wilbur’s. His founders were role models to him as a newly formed nation, but he especially took after Wilbur. Like him, L’manburg is rather artistic, and prone to obsession. He can be a bit sensitive, but also emotional like Tommy, and prone to outbursts. (he apologizes, dont worry!) He's also very passionate, and a free soul. The revolutionaries created him to be a symbol of freedom and liberty, and he takes those values to heart.
During Schlatt's rule, however, after being belittled and abused, he became more antisocial and retreated into himself for protection. He became quieter and a lot more depressed. He stopped smiling. He lost a lot of his free spirit to Schlatt. One event that really broke him was Schlatt's order to tear down his walls. It left him feeling betrayed, exposed, vulnerable, unstable. It really broke his spirit. A lot of his artistic side subsided during this time; he didnt feel well enough to make anything that wasnt depressing, and he didnt want to put depressing things into a world that was already suffering, so he hid his paintings and poetry. he also didnt want Schlatt to find them and mock them; L’manburg saw how Schlatt treated other people, like Quackity, and knew not to make himself a target.
Also notable is his reaction to Wilbur's obsession with him during the Pogtopia arc. Wilbur's toxic infatuation with him was disturbing, and L'manburg knew that. But at the same time, he was a nation made and shaped largely by Wilbur. L'manburg himself is also prone to obsession, and combined with his artistic soul, he was predisposed to romanticize Wilbur’s obsessive feelings towards him. Even though he knew it was wrong, he couldnt help but view Wil's passion as flattering... near the end, he even wished to die with Wilbur.
But he didnt.
The explosion shook him to his core, more than anything had before; he fell, blood on his lips, and his vision blurred; he truly thought he was going to die there. So did wilbur; they thought they were both going to die, together. But L'manburg survived, and Wilbur didn't.
L’manburg awoke later, still injured, but alive. It wasn’t his time yet. His time would come during the Doomsday war, indirectly killed by Dream, Technoblade, and Philza.
And now; Pogtopia, also my beloved, younger sister of L’manburg, though they never knew each other very well...
Tumblr media
Don’t let the picture fool you! She’s actually quite young, but the picrew didn’t have the option to make her look like a child.
Pogtopia didn't exist for very long. She was a girl of about six or seven, with curly pink hair and blue eyes. She also had a little snaggle-tooth like techno's tusks :> though the picrew didn’t work out for that. She gets her hair from Wilbur and Techno, and her eyes from Tommy. She was strong-willed and pretty good at taking care of herself, for a kid. She was a natural at swordfighting, or really any weapon they put in her hands. Techno trained her a lot, after he was convinced by Wilbur and Tommy that she wasnt an orphan. ("we're basically her parents!")
She was the first nation on the server to die. Not in battle--they didnt want her fighting anyways--but afterwards.
Nations need citizens to exist. After the rebellion, all of her former citizens went back to L'manburg and became a part of him again. Pogtopia was the first nation on the server to die, and nobody even saw it happen, or realized, until weeks later. They looked for her and she simply... didnt exist anymore. Tommy felt really, really bad about her. He felt like maybe he could have saved her, or at least been there when she died. Regardless, she’s gone now, and won’t be coming back.
RIP Pogtopia... she died too young :(
Now we have my next beloved; the Arctic North.
Tumblr media
Look at this. I combined Technoblade, Philza, and Ranboo and accidentally created the most beautiful man
Arctic North is Ranboo, Philza, and Techno, and sort of includes the syndicate as well, but mostly just because of the overlap. He's tall as fuck, thanks to Ranboo's influence, and has Phil's blonde hair and long ears from Techno, which alltogether makes him look like some kind of snow elf.
He's fairly antisocial, and the manifestation of that can range from "awkward and gangly" like Ranboo to "snobby, better-than-everyone-else" attitude (which is more common). He often appears awkward until he opens his mouth and says something sharp. He really likes to keep his distance, so he doesnt mind that his sharp tongue keeps people from liking him very much. He only needs his three humans, nobody else.
And then there’s Snowchester, my final beloved for this post:
Tumblr media
Snowchester is on the shorter side, like Tubbo, and he usually wears either a big ol fluffy coat or an equally fluffy cloak. Soft, dense winter clothes made for his climate. He looks pretty cute and innocent, with those fluffy clothes and big eyes, but he will FUCK YOUR SHIT UP. He acts sweet but if his citizens are threatened, he turns genuinely terrifying.
This child will not hesitate to nuke you and everything you love if you so much as look at his citizens the wrong way :]
But he is my beloved and can do no wrong, clearly
.
Oh, what’s that, you say? There’s no personification of the Greater DreamSMP?
Yes, there is, silly :) His name is just Dream.
... and you all know what Dream looks like, so he doesn’t get a visual here.
See, the thing about personifications on the server is that there are very few of them. L'manburg was the first, Pogtopia the second--and no one saw Pogtopia's death (poor girl) so they still dont know much about how nations form and how they die. So for a while, nobody questioned the fact that the Greater Dream SMP didn’t seem to have a personification.
It wasnt until more personifications, like Arctic North and Snowchester, started popping up, that they started to understand them better and began to question where Dream SMP was... by the time anyone really cared, he was already in prison.
(Dream: “My name is literally Dream, and none of you realized. What did you all expect?”)
Anyways, Dream being a personification, with his physical and mental wellbeing tied to the state of the DreamSMP faction, actually provides a lot of context and motivations for his actions. See, in this AU, L'manburg is not just a threat to his power, but a literal threat to his life/health. He wants to prevent other nations from rising on the server because a decline in power in the DreamSMP faction directly correlates to a decline in his health and personal, physical ability. His actions are still entirely selfish, but in this AU, also motivated by fear. It just adds a nice layer of depth and angst that I quite enjoy :]
but on the upside, you've got the homoerotic undertones of dream literally making george the king of HIM, and gogy just not fuckin noticing (because he doenst know dream is a personification) which is pretty fuckin funny. oblivious king

I like the idea of L’manburg being born after the revolution. Not by design, just by chance.
Imagine the weary, war-torn revolutionaries and warriors dragging their tired bodies home; looking up, and seeing, as the sun rose over their land, a figure in the morning dew; a boy on the hill, confused and young and looking up at them with such wide eyes.
A boy who calls himself L’manburg.

Aight so what /is/ lmanburgs relationship with wilbur like?? tell us abt the "very specific, passionate, and toxic relationship" That the two of them had :0
Do you want the platonic answer or the uh, shipping answer? Because my perferred version of the story is one where Wilbur and L’manburg’s feelings are questionably(?) romantic near the end.
Basically, they start out healthy.
Before the Pogtopia arc, they were fairly close, but at the same time, not very “entwined” like they became near the end. L’manburg valued a certain amount of freedom, both physical and emotional, and was not afraid to grow away from his founders and discover new things. He did, however, seek Wilbur and Tommy’s approval to an extent. He would often show his paintings to them, or ask their opinions on his poetry, or show them new and interesting places he’d found while exploring the surrounding landscape. But he wasn’t afraid to be without them, or to explore things they weren’t interested in, or to occasionally disappoint them a little bit.
However, when they were separated by Schlatt’s rule, things turned... toxic. Codependent. As dark and twisted as Wilbur’s mental state...
Schlatt’s executive order for Wilbur and Tommy’s exile was like a knife to his chest. It was shocking, cold, painful. He’d entertained the idea of being separated from them before, in idle musings. (He was only born after the end of the revolution, so he never had to fear for his death or their separation before.)
He wanted to follow them; Schlatt stopped him. Schlatt ruled him now.
For the first time, he understood what it meant to be ruled.
While separated, L’manburg missed Tommy and Wilbur, but especially Wilbur. He would describe his feeling, though not quite romantic, as longing. Schlatt was horrible to him, and made him feel more and more exposed and vulnerable every day. He wanted escape; he wanted to be saved; he wanted Wilbur to come along in the dead of night and steal him away from this horrible place. His art turned sour, with paintings of frustration and poems of fear and suffocation. He hid them from everyone, but especially Schlatt, fearing judgement.
Meanwhile, in Pogtopia, Wilbur’s own feelings were growing less and less stable. We all know the story.
In their separation, he became obsessed. If he couldn’t have L’manburg, why should anybody? If his beautiful nation was tained by Schlatt’s hands, why should he continue to live?
Both became obsessed with each other.
-My L’manburg. You are my L’manburg. My creation.
-Your L’manburg... do you promise?
When the time finally came, L’manburg understood what was happening. He understood as soon as the first explosion shook him, and exposed Wilbur in his crudely-dug room. They were going to die together. He was ready to die together. He just... he just wanted to reach Wilbur first.
When he survived, he was actually upset.
-Do you know what it’s like to accept death, and then not die? It’s horrible.
After he recovered his physical wounds, he began to recover emotionally too, and even recognized how codependent him and Wilbur had become. But he never forgot, and he was never quite the same again.

aph L’manburg,,, I miss you
On the black shirt I use for my Wilbur cosplay (well, used to, now I’m going to start using the ghostbur sweater) there is a small spot of sky-blue paint... the shirt was a hand me down, so I don’t know where it came from, but at some point I started headcanoning that it came from L’manburg’s paints. I started thinking that L’manburg accidentally got that spot of paint on Wilbur’s shirt while they were out in some meadow somewhere, and L’manburg was painting the landscape. & that Wilbur took that shirt with him when he fled Manburg, when he was exiled. It reminded him of L’manburg & he always wore it.

(Heyo!! It's me again :D)
okaykokay so in hetalia, nations are able to like,,, sense like who's not a nation, and when there is one nearby (lil lad iceland knew he had a brother he never met, and was able to tell that the other ppl on the island weren't "guys like him"), so would the other nations be able to tell that Dream was the Greater DSMP?? Would they end up telling others or would they keep it to themselves (for some reason or another)??
I feel like most of them would not be in contact with Dream enough to tell, aside from L’manburg and Pogtopia. L’manburg wouldn’t have known what the feeling meant so he would have kept it to himself, and Pogtopia might have mentioned that Dream felt “weird” but she would then refuse to elaborate.

do you perhaps happen to have any small details about the Personifications that you could share (by that I mean stuff like their favourite colours, preferred block type, what food they like the most, just like, personal stuff)?
Snowchester:
- favorite colors: white and green! but he’s a big fan of red & blue together too. he thinks his eyes are really pretty because of that
- favorite food: nukes. thats where the nuke went jk its actually sweet berries
- preferred block type: snow blocks and spruce logs! They remind him of home!
- he eats snow. all the time. sometimes ranboo will leave his & tubbo’s house and just see the personification of snowchester eating snow off his lawn or licking his bushes.
- loves kids!!
- not super adventurous, he likes to stay within his borders and build up strength within the community as well as military strength to defend the community.
- very extroverted and loves people, he can spend all day just talking to his people about various things
- he doesn’t appear serious, but he is. he can take things very seriously. he cant stand the thought of his loved ones (all of his citizens) getting hurt and will do anything to prevent it.
Arctic North:
- favorite colors: sky blue
- favorite food: anything that is food
- preferred block type: stone bricks, mossy stone bricks
- bonks his head on doorframes because of his height and tries to play it off as something he totally meant to do
- sometimes follows ranboo around silently; this is how they bond without actually talking
- also follows the others but mainly ranboo
- he looks intimidating but if he and snowchester got into a fight snowchester would win.
L’manburg
- favorite colors: navy blue, and a dark golden color like wheat
- favorite food: salmon, carrots, sweets
- preferred block type: oak planks--the simplicity is calming to him
- besides painting and poetry, he’s tried charcoal drawing, songwriting, and a few other artistic endeavors. but painting is and always will be his favorite. he prefers oil paints, by the way. oil paint supremacy
- he’s a bottom lmao
- he’s the type to stare at the clouds for hours
Pogtopia:
- favorite colors: anything that’s not grey or drab, honestly
- favorite food: pork chops (much to techno’s horror)
- preferred block type: diamond, iron ingots
- she has literally boundless energy
- a natural at anything involving weapons or destruction, which was a bit concerning to The GangTM for about 5 seconds before they all decided nah, destruction is great Actually
- speaking of which, she loves causing problems and thus loves pranking people

L’manburg was absolutely in on the election idea. He helped Wilbur and Tommy with the setup, going around giggling conspiratorially and putting up flyers with them. He was rooting for them the whole time.

(If I get annoying/overwhelming please tell me off for it akfjsks)
so what are human and nation relations like?? Are nations just seen as political figures?? How do people know if a nation is a nation (because like kinds sus for someone to just show up and be like "yes I represent this group that you've just formed")?? How much info is known abt personifications (since there are so little amount of them on the server)??
You’re fine! I was a little overwhelmed when you submitted your art because I was so excited, but its died down now and I’m just overjoyed to talk about my AU!
In this world, there are far less people making up the personifications, and so their relationships with their people are much more personal. The idea of treating a nation like a political pawn, or like a thing to possess, didn’t really come about until Schlatt’s term. As Wilbur and Tommy said, the election wasn’t really to give L’manburg to someone, but to officialize the relationship they already had. That way of treating nations doesn’t really take root afterwards, either, partly because everyone is afraid of being like Schlatt. L’manburg, however, never truly feels like their equal again. Tubbo tries to treat him like a human being, but L’manburg still ends up feeling controlled, and like a pawn. Even as the Butcher Army is created to protect him, he feels as if they see him like an object to protect from damage, and he had virtually no input on the creation or operation of the Army. (Not because they didn’t ask him, mind you. He was invited to the meetings, but thanks to trauma from Schlatt’s rule, he was too afraid to speak out, and they were all too caught up in themselves to notice L’manburg’s hesitance.)
Before Schlatt, however, L’manburg was treated mostly as a comrade, a fellow resident and a friend. Most nations who came after him are treated the same way. Pogtopia was never seen as a political or military anything; Tommy and Wilbur, and eventually Techno, saw her as a little sister or daughter to protect. Arctic North likes to take on a role as the “official representative” of his people, but its no official title, more like a code of conduct he tries to apply to himself. Kinoko Kingdom is treated as Basically Some Guy Who Also Lives Here And May Or May Not Be Some Sort of Genius Loci/Diety. Snowchester is just... Snowchester. They see him kind of like their protective guardian, but also, he’s still a hyper kid. He’s part of the community, for sure, not a figurehead.

okayokayokay what dictates when a nation spawns/dies? bcuzbcuz nations (in hetalia) are formed when a group of people have a common identity yeah? and then the nation then dies when there are no longer ppl under that identity or something, but L'manburg died because he lost his 3 canon lives yeah? are all the nations affected by the 3 lives system?? (I mean they can still die earlier because Pogtopia did but)
Actually L’manburg didn’t die from losing three canon lives! Like Pogtopia, he died because of a lack of national identity, combined with immense physical trauma in a war. (Because he’s a city-state, and thus pretty small, he’s easily affected by things like war, famine, and political unrest, as opposed to the canon nations of Hetalia, which are larger in terms of both landmass and population.)
Nations generally spawn when a group of people creates a national identity, though these “guidelines” are a bit glitchy and it doesn’t always work. Certain factors can increase the likelihood of a nation being born, such as:
- having permanent residents, or residents with homes in the area
- having a flag, name, anthem, or anything of the like
- fighting in a war for independence (increases national identity)
- extreme loyalty to the group
- creating your nation out of a need to escape persecution (also increases national identity)
Again, the guidelines aren’t perfect, DreamXD works in mysterious ways, and all that.
Nations dying is a bit more simple. They die when they either lose all of their citizens, or their citizens lose them (aka the national identity is lost). Physical trauma in the form of wars, famine, political unrest, conquest, etc can speed up the process of the body’s death but all on their own, can’t kill a nation. Wilbur didn’t know this when he set off the bombs; none of them knew much about how nations died until Pogtopia and L’manburg died.

What was it like for people to see Personified!L'Manberg after Wilbur's death? I'd imagine it would be not very nice for people to have to look at someone so similar to Wilbur after everything went down
God, yeah. The only physical characteristic L’manburg inherited from Wilbur is his hair, but that’s enough to make them look very similar. Like they could be brothers.
I think everyone would have to keep reminding themselves of the parts of other people that are present in him too; like Tommy’s eyes.
I also think that, as uncomfortable as it might be to see him out of the corner of their eyes and think they’ve seen Wilbur, this is still L’manburg. This is still their nation, their country, and they aren’t going to give up on him that easily. They fought two goddamn wars for him. They’re STILL fighting tooth and nail to protect him, even creating something as morally abhorrent as the Butcher Army in a desperate bid to keep him safe.
So they’re not gonna give up on him, or even act too weird around him, for the most part.
