a/n: i really liked aphex and wanted to write a little something for him <3

"aphex?"

the two of you quietly laid next to each other in bed, aphex skimming through some files, while you stared at the ceiling, a certain thought unable to leave your mind. 

"what?"

"am i the only one you have this sort of relationship with…?"

for a moment it was silent, before aphex quietly closed the file he was looking at and turned to you. 

"you're not"

you had already suspected it, but hearing it from him hurt more than you had expected. 

"then who else are you seeing besides me?"

aphex gritted his teeth, seemingly getting frustrated with you asking too many questions. perhaps he didn't think the two of you sleeping with each other meant that you were allowed to get to know him better. 

"listen, whoever else i fuck doesn't have anything to do with you, got it? so mind your business!"

perhaps you should've left it there and rolled over, pretending to fall asleep and forget about this conversation by the time the next morning came. but you couldn't. you couldn't just let this rest. 

"it doesn't but…"

aphex had opened his file again, only to sigh and close it again when you spoke up. 

"what do they have that i don't…?"

aphex glared at you, quickly making you worry that you had overstepped a boundary. maybe you weren't as important to him than he was to you. 

"we are not discussing this now!"

you were already too deep into it. you couldn't just let this go now. you wanted answers! 

"i know this shouldn't bother me, but it does! i can accept that you're seeing someone else, but it doesn't mean i have to be happy about it. and it doesn't mean i can just stop wondering what they have that you need someone other than me…"

aphex sighed and threw the file onto his desk. you thought he'd turn around and yell at you, but instead he cupped your cheeks and pressed a soft kiss onto your lips. 

"idiot… you're good enough. but this with us is different than with the others. just… tell me you understand and don't make me say it out loud!"

aphex seemed to be a bit flustered, unable to hold eye contact with you as he grumbled quietly. 

"does that mean they mean more to you than i do? or… is it the other way around?"

you wanted it to be the other way around. you wanted to be the one aphex liked the most, while the others were just the distraction from you. 

"i'm not fucking you just because i think you're hot. i do like the time before and after we do it as well. maybe even more than when we…"

aphex stopped talking as you suddenly grabbed his hands. he looked up at you, finding you already smiling at him. 

"me too… i like anything we do, as long as it's together…!"
