now that i've been getting more into coding im learning that like, a programming language is just one slice of an enormous pie of what is actually required to make a site or an app. and even for the coding languages, there are more tools that you can use to make what you're doing like 10 times more efficient. my question is how do you learn that these tools even exist out there for you to use? every time i do a tutorial or study a course i'm amazed and a little panicked about how much more there is to learn outside of programing itself that there is to learn

Here's more or less how it will work (I'm open for suggestions)

Get all the posts from all tracked tags in given timeframe

Get unique posts - so posts with both tracked_tag_1 and tracked_tag_2 will be reblogged only once

Add archival date tags - right now the format would be [date], so for example for post made on 2023-02-31 > [2023], [2023-02], [2023-02-31]; that will allow to browse posts made on specific day, specific month, and specific year.

Copy the tags from original post - in effort to preserve extra content/warning tags, like mermaid!AU, or dragons, or flashing lights, etc. Those won't get the [].

How often will it be run?

Everyday, but it will collect posts older than a week - or more, definitely not less. This is to encourage people to keep using the /tagged or /search options on Tumblr, because, as I've mentioned, Tumblr API DOES NOT return all the posts visible on web.

As in, when I've checked #trigunbookclub, API was missing like first 5 posts. And it's like that by design. The difference is due to Tumblr not actually using the API to display posts. I'm looking into alternatives, one looks good so far, hopefully it won't annoy Tumblr just as much as Tumblr annoys me, I don't want to get banned (again, suggestions are welcome).

It's also to give users time to modify/delete their post. And if you end up following the archival blog, you'll get to see the posts again.

Which tags will be tracked?

So far the list is: #trigun, #trigun maximum, #trigun stampede, #trimax, #tristamp, #trigunbookclub

I'll keep the list on pinned post on archival blog (together with most of what I've written here).

Honestly I want to start from oldest, to try and keep the order of posting since you can't filter by multiple tags, so if someone wants to filter all #trimax posts, they will still get them in some chronological order, but I'm probably going to do a poll for that too. But-

For example, #trigun stampede has 4400 pages as of today, let's count 10 posts per page (there's less). I can reblog 250 posts per day (if I'm not mistaken), that's 25 pages. That's 176 days to get up to date just with #trigun stampede.

Iirc M’s (proposing or wedding band I don’t remember) would be a golden band (?) with like a small gem but I looove to think N would tell M about this and M would do it.

Like it’s so fitting bc it’s not like a ring with a lot of big gems and is super showy and flashy- instead it’s a simple yet unique and extremely meaningful ring that would mean that their bond with the MC is unbreakable. Like don’t get me wrong I love me some big pretty gems but this low key reminds me of Ms romance- maybe they’re not the type to freaking serenade you outside and bring you a bouquet of flowers every day- but it’s small and simple things that show how much they care- always keeping an eye on you, checking you’re healthy, playing with your hair and vice versa, keeping you close, going to things you enjoy even if they wouldn’t like it, wrapping their arms around you or letting you sit on their lap (or them on yours)

#kee speaks #there are too many acronyms and number combinations in this trade #this past week has just been codes and the absolutely RIVETING topic of metallurgy #sarcasm cause half the class fell asleep during the metallurgy module today #and I'm not convinced the teacher that does that class actually knows what he's talking about #thank fuck we only have him once a week cause he just. reads the power point slides and can't hear for shit and if someone asks a question #it's usually another classmate who is able to answer the question better #and then fucking CODES. Cause Canada can't make anything easy and has got to make their own designations for codes #But instead of making their own they just adopt the industry standard made by the american based organizations and slap their own onto it #So this entire book is a word search of trying to find the associating codes between the American system and Canadian system #so like the Americans made ASME section IX for pressure vessels and all that shit but then Canada had to make the CSA #and just like. swiped some of the specifications of the code and slapped their own label on it as CSA B51 and it's all the same #but we have to know both the ASME and CSA designations of all this stuff #so I'm like trying to go through and find ok this particular thing is labelled as CSA W59 and this is CWB W47.1 and #then gotta find the associated ASME code that goes along with it because of course they gotta jumble it up and not put it together #This is all driving me up the WALL there is so much information #Thsi page I have open in front of me has like API SPec 12F and then B31.1 and CSA W47.1 and CSA W117.2 and Z662 and TC 44 #I don't even know what the fuck TC stands for I have yet to delve into that #And I think most of those are CWB designations so that's not even including the bazillion ASME specifications which half of them #are broken down even further into divisions so it'll be like ASME section IX div V or some shit like that #😵😵😵😵 #I was quite proud of myself yesterday because the teacher just did a quick review verbal test where he threw us questions and anyone could #pipe in with the answer and he asked what the specific associated CSA code for an ASME sect was and usually there's like four guys #that immediately answer and nobody did and I knew what it was and was able to chime in #that's the first time I've been able to chime in without several other people also answering so that felt good #but now I'm just sitting here like someone please just take me out there is no way I can make this all stick in my head #i find it helps to rewrite stuff into my notebook to help the information stick in my head but it took me five minutes to realize #that the acronym and the spelling out of the organization name of said acronym did not match at all #like the acronym was AISI and I wrote 'American National Standards Institute' next to it which does not match at all #well tbf the first and last letters match but the I and S should've been 'Iron & Steel'
