たとえるならば黒船。

現代レンズはここまできてるのかと感じた。

時間があまりなくて、まだ本格的に使えてないけれど、ただ撮っただけでもその世界の向こうに見え隠れするのは、たぶん写真に対する哲学。

改めて思う。

僕は所有はしてないものの、日本のレンズをいくつか使ったことがあるし、最新のレンズの作例もできるだけ確認している見ている。その程度の知見で、聞き分けの良い優等生が多いなと思うことがある。

いやいやレンズは、見えたものをより高コントラストに高精細に…というレイヤーで話してしまうと話せることは無くなってしまう。

これは楽器とか工芸品とかそういう世界で高度にバランスされた光学器なのでは？と思うように。

Apo Summicronが最高の光学露光器だとしたら、Summiluxのそれは光学楽器とでも評する方がいいような揺らぎ。

Leicaは異質。

どこまで行っても異質。

その異質さは今の時代だから？

古き日本にもそういうものはあった気がする。あるいは現代の日本カメラの傾向が使ってきた世界観というものがあるとして、それが僕にはわからない、あるいは好きではないのかもしれない。

Leicaは今もできるだけ少ない枚数でレンズを製造している。それも手作業で。

その意味の向こうにも、何かまだわからない哲学の存在を感じずにはいられないというのは、考えすぎか？

とりあえずファーストインプレッション。

※一つだけ補足。日本メーカーを貶める意図はないです。たまたま僕がLeicaから写真をやり直そうと思ったから感じていることばかりです。

なんならGRIIIとかすごいなと思ってます。総じて日本のカメラはとにかく優秀だと思います。

僕が話しているのはそのレイヤーじゃないところで書いているので、そこだけは誤解なきよう。
