-watch archery videos or read about archery
- be kind to crows and ravens
- watch documentaries about any of His sacred animals
-let some sunlight in and sit in it for a little if you’re able

So, so much love for my deities! What luck it is to be loved by them! To have the relationships I have with them now! It's so lovely to experience this! I love Apollon! I love you, Hypnos! I love you, my dear king Asmodeus! I love you, my Uriel! I love you so much, my sweet Dionysus! I love you guys so much! Thank you endlessly for loving me, for teaching me what you have! For bringing beauty to love, for bringing beauty to me!
How it consumes me to love you, to be around you! To know I am reciprocated is heavenly! So much gratitude for my deities! So much adoration for them! Hail be to them!
The ones who taught me I am not broken, I am not despicable or disgusting for who I am! The ones who helped me heal when I deemed myself unable to be healed! The ones who showed me it's okay to be me!
Hail be to their names, my glorious kings! I love them achingly, fully! Forever thanking them for helping me with everything, for guiding me, teaching me, protecting me, and loving me just as I love them! Forever devoting myself to them on this plane and beyond it as their silly little poet writer guy thing!!
Ooh, sometimes it truly is beautiful to live. To love. To exist with people beyond our capabilities as equals, as lovers, as friends and everything else in between.

Note
could eating orange and yellow colored foods and citrus foods (like lemons oranges limes) be a devotional act to appollo? or only just cotrus or just oranges or somthing?
-Eclipse🌑
Hey Eclipse!
I think that citrus is definitely a good choice, and the whole orange/yellow thing is too since those are sort of like Apollo's associated colors! I don't think you need to sweat the small stuff like this too much, anything could be a devotional act as long as it makes sense for that particular God.
Here are some examples of devotional acts on behalf of Apollo:
Eating citrus drinks/foods
Wearing yellow or orange or white
Feeding birds, particularly crows
Drinking milk
Listening to music with the lyre or harp, or just listening to music in general
Practicing divination
Dancing
Sunbathing (safely)
Practicing an instrument
Throwing around a Frisbee
Cleaning your altar or room
etc etc etc
Magic and Worship both work on the main principle of Intent; your intentions are the main driving force in your practice, we use tools and certain materials to amplify that intent. For devotional acts, the goal is to feel closer to the God/ provide little acts as a gesture of goodwill and faith. As long as you do that act in the name of Apollo, your intent is there, and boom you've got yourself a devotional act. Some acts are small, like eating an orange. Some are significantly larger and take more effort, like volunteering at your local reptile/bird sanctuary. All of these acts are important though, and Apollo loves them all as long as they are good natured and done in his name!
Be safe, and have fun, Witches

Letters To Apollon - His Spirit
Dear Lord Apollon,
I see Your spirit everywhere, I think
From musicians on the street,
To music bursting from earbuds
I feel Your presence near
and it comforts me

What is a “Universal Offering/Devotional Act?”
Feel free to request or suggest deities! This list will be done in order but you can ask for me to complete one that’s further down the list.
This list is subject to change. There are probably repeat deities (deities who go by multiple names, parts of groups like the Horae or Charities who are mostly grouped together, etc.) on this list. Some deities are not on here. Some names are spelt wrong or different.

Day 1 of my week for Apollon (and I guess I want to talk about it ?)
There is my altar ! It's an all-in-one because this is the only space I have. The only thing that stay are the plants because i don't work with that much of them. The rest depends of the deity, depictured by the moodboard. Sadly, I cannot lit candles here so they are just...there.
As I said, most of my practice is through virtual and devotional acts. So, Day 1 is about writing a poem (but I'll not share it).
(I wish i did more research before so the pictures of the moodboard wouldn't have been from Pinterest, but it is temporary)

Tensely getting vaccinated as a devotional act to Hermes (mild fear of needles)
Update: the nurse had bead bracelets and a crystal necklace and black nail polish and we chatted and they were so cool
Update 2: I fucked up and didn’t realize there were multiple, I only saw the sign ups for flu, so gotta go for round two 🤡
Update 3: not a moment after, “let the sun shine” started playing over the radio, I think Apollon is here w me tryna encourage me to go back and get the others. I am bud, lemme eat dinner first <3

- watch a comedy special
- watch a funny show or movie
- watch travel videos
- watch sports (literally any sport)
- if able learn a new language if unable to do that listen to music in a foreign language or watch a movie or show in a foreign language
- learn about the underworld and His role as a psychopomp
- the story of Him stealing Apollon’s cattle always makes me laugh so if you’re feeling down maybe read about that or watch a video about it!
- eat food from a foreign country or watch cooking videos with recipes from foreign countries
- make a bucket list of places you’d like to travel (doesn’t necessarily have to be other countries! It can be within your own country or in your own state! Or hell maybe there’s places in your own town/city you haven’t checked out yet that you’d like to go see!)
- learn some geography!
- listen to a devotional playlist for Him
- play some board games or card games or dice games
🌊Poseidon🌊

- learn about marine plants and marine biodiversity
- watch videos about naval history, or naval warfare
- learn about boats and sailing history

- listen to a devotional playlist for Him
- learn about shipwrecks or maritime disasters if that interests you (my favorite YouTube channel for these vids is: Oceanliner Designs)
- watch ocean or maritime related shows or movies (I personally like The Terror which I get isn’t 100% ocean related but y’know)

i have been sort of curious on asteria for a while, where would be a good place to start researching her other than theoi.com?
feel free to also share some upgs of her or some things you think i should maybe know!
Hello! Thank you so much for the ask and a warm welcome into the worship of Lady Asteria. I would like to preface this by saying that I'm still trying to find more information on her and a lot of the accessible information is similar to each other, I'm trying to keep this blog updated with any new information I find but I'm very slow at updating so I hope this has some new information here that I might not have written anywhere else.
Callimachus has small bits of information in it, and its helped me find multiple new things about Lady Asteria such as epithets and associations, and it also has a hymn to Delos in it which is useful.
The Apollodorus has some basic information about her 'main' myth of turning into the island of Delos which is an important read I think, but not much else.
The Homeric Hymns is great for finding epithets, most specifically of Delos, however you are mostly going to be looking in hymns for others gods. I'm also a big fan of the myth of Lord Apollon and Lady Artemis' birth as I find it shows her importance and love of Lord Apollon really well.
The Odes of Pindar, while not having much, does reinforce the idea that Delos was worshipped/seen as more than just an island by people. I also enjoy this part 'by mortal men called Delos, but by the blessed gods of Olympus known as the far-seen star of the dark blue earth' as it shows that even though she has turned herself into the Island Delos, her divinity over the stars and such still remain hers.
The Orphic hymns are also a good read, and while not stating Lady Asterias name anywhere, a few of the hymns could be used/interpreted as such
While there is not much on Lady Brizo and Lady Asteria defintely being the same god, my UPG is that they are, and while there is also not a lot of information on Brizo herself I do believe she has importance.
One of my favourite articles and piece of information about Lady Brizois called 'The dance of the ancient mariners' written by Lillian B. Lawler, its an interesting read and introduced one of my favourite epithets of Brizo, 'Lady of the sea'. While it doesn't say definitively that Brizo is a god (they mention that she or whichever deity being referenced may be a nymph instead) I've personally decided to interpret it as such. It also introduces some upg's i have, such as not offering fish, dancing as an offering/devotional act as well as potentially giving offerings in small boat like dishes.
I hope this is some good starting information, it may not be perfect and I may post additional things later, but I would recommend doing some of your own research just in case I've missed anything.

Devotional acts
Tumblr media
There are a plethora of devotional things one can do for their deity, and it varies from person to person, deity to deity. But, here are some that I enjoy.
Learning a language. Learning a new language is a great skill in general, but learning a deity's origin language, like for example, Greek, is a wonderful devotional act. I'm currently learning Greek in devotion to Apollon, and to me, it's a truly beautiful language. Though a little hard at times, haha.
Self care. Deities in general, especially if you're close with them, want you to care for yourself. So, dedicating your face masks, applying lotions or creams/ect, can be a great devotion for them. You can also draw their sigils in your cream or lotion before rubbing it in.
Art. This can vary extremely, because art is subjective to everyone's own perspective. But, some of the ways I like to do devotional art is by making poetry, or painting. Or, you could sing! Dance! Expressing yourself is a form of art in itself. You could dance with them, even. Which brings me to my next point..
Hang out with them. Now, for me, this can be literally anything you enjoy to do. Deities, from what I've experienced, enjoy the mundane as much as the celebratory moments. They want to spend time with you. They want to be around you. You could rant for hours, or sit in a peaceful silence. Do a hobby with them, invite them to eat a meal with you. I like to listen to music with my deities when I'm low on energy, or have a playlist I made for them play in the background while I do something else. It's a gentle reminder of their presence if I'm doing shuffle-mancy.
Meditate. Personally, I hated meditation when I first started. I was scared, even. Because I thought I'd fail terribly. But, with all its cliches, with enough time put in, I've gradually progressed to where I am now, and where I'll go in the future years. Meditation, with your deities in my experience, is one of my favorite ways to connect with them, besides astral projection. Connecting with Apollon's energy for example is and was one of the best things I've ever experienced. Feeling a deity's love, a deity's protection and care, is something I can't explain with words that make sense, lol.
E-Altars I started out with digital altars, and they're a great devotional act, in my opinion. Putting in aesthetics that remind you of them, their statues, quotes that remind you of them or your relationship with them, and so on, is another one of my favorites. Especially if I'm on the go. It also can help with remembering what they represent or what represents them. Like animals, colors, planets, ect.
The most important parts in my opinion is simply the intention, the effort, the heart, and purely just creativity. Devotional acts can be anything and everything, it's supposed to be personal, it's supposed to be unique. Don't be afraid to be yourself, or give what you can. Deities appreciate the work, they appreciate you. As long as you are being respectful, not harming anybody including yourself, you are doing fine.

Hi! I prayed to Apollo and Hermes for help and they gave it to me. Is there any way I should thank them other than prayer?
Hey, Nonny, thanks for the ask!
Along with prayer, you can thank them by giving them offerings or doing a devotional act! An offering is usually a physical thing you give to the gods, whereas a devotional act is usually an action you do in honor of them. If you have altars for them, you can leave the offerings on their altars! Here are some offering ideas for each of them:
Hermes
Drawings of his sacred animals and/or symbols
Travel souvenirs
Strawberry flavored items/strawberries
Stuffed animals (bonus points if they're his sacred animals haha)
Art of Hermes
Apollon
Drawings of his sacred animals and/or symbols
Song lyrics that are meaningful to you
Poetry that reminds you of him
Your favorite childhood toys
Art of Apollon
Here are some devotional acts you can do for them:
Hermes
Listen to music that reminds you of him
Spend time with a pet
Write a short story
Take a walk if you can
Talk/hang out with loved ones
Apollon
Listen to music that reminds you of him
Sing your favorite songs
Write poetry
Take care of yourself physically and mentally 🧡
Spend time in the sunlight
If you don't have an altar set up for them, don't sweat it! You can still offer them things, such as a glass of water, and simply place the object in a dedicated area for them, if you want to. With the example of water, it's also ok if you drink the water or maybe use it to water some plants. That's just a suggestion, though!
I hope this helps! Have a wonderful night/day! ☺️🧡

The Carneia and Hyacinthia were celebrated in Sparta
The Daphnephoria was celebrated every nine years in Thebes
Notes
From literature we know that the twins didn’t immediately start out as deities of the moon and sun respectively.
The most important temple dedicated to Apollo is the temple and Oracle at Delphi. The priestess Pythia would listen to and deliver Apollo’s prohocies and words. The story says that Pythia had breathed in vapors that rose from a spring underneath the temple.
