Flipping through LOTR Appendix A, I landed on this line without context:
"Then Eorl mounted him, and Felaróf submitted; and Eorl rode him home without bit or bridle; and he rode him in like fashion ever after."
XD Now I presume that Felaróf is a horse, but wow that was a double take. The line still kind of works in isolation tho
Bonus, at the bottom of the same page:
"'Old kings that refuse a proffered staff may fall on their knees.'"
👀 ok
(credit mostly to @i-am-a-lonely-visitor's beautiful A Moth and a Candle for my brain working like this now ❤)

maybe Carlos’s appendix will restore the balance that was upset after Alex’s appendix was removed

I've been visualising the orientation of my uterus and ovaries all wrong
This model is of an in situ, superior (top-down) view.
This image (source here) is the same superior viewpoint turned 180 degrees.
I have spent most of my life imagining it positioned inside my body just as in the classic image we have, which is of a uterus and ovaries splayed out flat. Good for identifying parts and their functions but I never saw the others.
I do hope any biology and human reproduction classes have amended things since I was in school and they show both now. That they realise 50% of the class will have a direct relationship with this anatomy in their own bodies and that that anatomy is quite dynamic so it's important to be able to note where things are ie: pain, tenderness.

jenson button's advice to ollie bearman:
"don’t rush it. the journey is a big part of you getting to formula 1. when you’re in formula 1, you feel the stress - as you see in a lot of drivers in the paddock. it’s the journey of getting there that’s just as good and just as important as your time in f1."

If we go deep enough, we can all blame this on Alex's appendix

Tim: One time I almost had appendicitis.
Damian: Almost?
Steph: Did you get your appendix removed?
Tim: I don’t think so? Pretty sure I still have it.
Steph: …
Damian: You’re “pretty sure” you have your appendix???

Anyways if this is what happens when you get your appendix removed, I think the surgeons in Monaco are going to be booked and busy for the next few weeks
