I watched and enjoyed Appmon while Ghost Game was airing, and one thing I liked in particular is how much these shows felt like two sides of the same coin. My personal favourite example of it was how child prodigy and genius Unryuji Knight used his abilities to invent Twitter and became a superstar big tech CEO at the age of 16. Meanwhile, child prodigy and genius Kiyoshiro Higashimitarai is an overworked teen employee (and just a regular employee at that) and uses his abilities to... play gacha games.

i'm thinking about getting back into digimon, what games would you recommend? i only ever played the old ps1 game, i think it was called digimon world? i really loved the animes as a kid tho

Digimon World on the PS1 is such an iconic game haaaaa

When it comes to the games, Digimon has been in a spot where they experiment with a lot of different game genres, I think mostly to find what will stick aka what will bring in money. I will just warn you ahead of time that Digimon games aren’t exactly games that will blow your socks off, but they all bring something charming that just embody what the Digimon spirit is.

That being said! I would recommend Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth for someone getting back into Digimon. It’s a good entry point, and the gameplay is similar to Persona with its rpg style gameplay. The evolution and Digimon raising system is easy enough to follow and the story is quite interesting (and unhinged its great).

Now, if you’re a fan of visual novels, I would also recommend Digimon Survive. There is a rudimentary battle system but it’s also rather simple since the game is focused on the story. If you enjoyed Digimon Adventure (the first season of the anime) you will enjoy the story in this game. It took me about 70 hours to unlock all the different routes of this game.

If you like Tamagotchis and other vpets I would recommend the Digimon X Series of vpets. They’re fun and relatively easy to raise compared to other vpets in the Digimon lineup.

If you want something similar to Digimon World I would recommend picking up Digimon World: Next Order. However, if you so so, I would recommend following a guide to understand the raising system or setting the game on easy mode if you want to try and figure it out yourself.

I believe steam is having a big sale on Digimon games at the moment, they’re pretty cheap to pick up. All the digimon games mentioned are also available on the Switch and Playstation at discounted prices. Enjoy!
