watched that new Big Joel video and im now I’m in the mood to roast, entertained by the greek myth put forth by Chaucer, and it got me angry again about how people approach greek myth as a whole. (and it is a fun story, no matter how much you want to avoid being told you’re wrong and evil for invading iraq, the ugly truth is always there and it is waiting. too bad picasso waaaas an abusive freak)

Not only did appollo throw a tantrum when his partner left him (imagine being known as the hot god and not being able to satisfy lmao), but in his babyrage he also tried to punish the crow that relayed the story to him, but failed so badly that he only made them look even BETTER (black is always in fashion) and couldn’t even take away their voice.

And people will say “omg its not canon”, “appollo would never do that” but refuse to elaborate on what parts of greek mythology are and are not apparently true. A thousand and more of years of additions, reinterpretations and rewrites before CE 0 by millions of voices and hearts and minds and you have the gall to arbitrate what is and is not "true”, what is canon, to the made-up characters of made-up assholes. Greek mythology stans are soooooo fascinating.
