You KNEW this day was coming. Surely, right? Its March 31st, a landmark day in gaming history. The day that Super Mario died. The day we lost him to time forever. And the day that spawned perhaps the greatest April Fools event on all of SiIvaGunner. For me, its no contest - Your Best Nightmario and Bowser's Finale, and the entire event they were part of, were the absolute highlight of Season 5.

The April Fools events held prior on the channel since their very beginnings with Grand Dad Metropolis had all been presented as complete surprises. That is perhaps a given - it is in the nature of a prank to be surprising - but it's also where the Season 5 event differs most even today, in that its theme was all but known to us well beforehand. Announced on September 3rd of 2020 as part of a bizarre marketing tactic to drive up demand, Nintendo had let us known that their newfangled Mario celebration releases in Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. 35, would both be delisted from sale after March 31st. Super Mario Bros. 35 stung in its own right - it is effectively lost media now as a digital-only, online-only game, but Super Mario 3D All-Stars contained three of Nintendo's most celebrated games, games that had no reason to stop being sold just for a cheap trick. Everyone rightfully denoted how scummy of a tactic this was to drive up sales, but more than that: the imagery of Nintendo celebrating Mario's birthday by killing his games - and by proxy, killing Mario himself - was a joke that online spaces just ran absolutely rampant with. And can you blame them? That IS funny as shit, and reframes Nintendo's slimy marketing into something that makes them look far worse. Because of the joke's sheer prevalence, I had the same thought as many others in the early days of 2021 - there was *no way* that the SiIvaGunner team were blind to the potential this gag had, and how well it lined up with their previous explosive festivities just a day after. By March 29th, they even teased the event's start with three daily rips of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, a game all about impending doom affecting the world in just three days, with each rip featuring the melody of one of the three 3D Mario games in the collection.

And sure enough, the day came. With March 31st, we saw a whole day of nothing but Mario rips and Mario-related jokes in other rips - a last hurrah for his life - all ending with Super 3D All-Stars Music S64 Game Over. Just like that, he was gone - faded from the video, faded from view. Yet few of us could've predicted just how dire things would get.

In SiIvaGunner lore, the term "Figment" refers to the personification a meme or joke on the channel takes, its characterized state - think Mr. Rental in Mr. Rental [B Side] ~ Out of Options or Inspector Gadget in Become as Gadget and throughout his two takeovers. When a figment based on a real human dies, it can easily be reborn - the human itself lives on in the real world, after all, and can recreate the essence of its Figment in a variety of ways. But when a purely fictional Figment dies...its erased from all history. As if it had never existed to begin with, all traces of it are wiped from memory, wiped from the very state of having ever existed. And under Nintendo's very own Gulliotine, this was the fate Super Mario himself succumbed to. As a result every single Super Mario-series rip uploaded in the channel's five-year run, be they Kart, Sports, Paper or just outright Super, was set to private on the SiIvaGunner channel. And as April 1st of 2021 went on, it seemed to be harder and harder to remember the name of that mustachioed man. Had someone like that...ever existed?

I'm certain a lot of what I'm writing here is familiar ground to many of you reading, but I really want to convey just how incredibly well-done this atmosphere was. Throughout April 1st, fifty-five rips were uploaded, many of which featuring games that seemed just...the slighest bit off. The opening to the classic Philips CD-i game "Hotel", where a lone Luigi talks to himself; The underwater music featured in the SNES Launch title "Super World" with a bizarrely-lopsided logo, and most prominently - games like Super M̸̌̊a̴͛̿█̸͌̑i̵̛͊█̷̾̓ 64, Super M̸̌̊a̴͛̿█̸͌̑i̵̛͊█̷̾̓ Sunshine and Super █̴̧̀a̵̤̐r̷̙̋█̶̰̆o̶͚̚ Galaxy, three games that were bound by a strange malfunction in their presentation, as if they're collectively...held back by something. Or someone.

Your Best Nightmario stood out as the centerpiece of it all, with a title yet more bizarrely mangled than the rest - Super 👉█̸͌̑█̷̾̓😁̶̆͠☼̷̇̃👈̸̂͑█̷̾̓█̾̓ 64. Two fingers, pointing toward a desperate smile. It's-a-me. The rip serves as an incredible multi-stage arrangement of Your Worst Nightmare from Undertale, the boss music for Flowey the Flower. Its already incredibly befitting on the surface level - Undertale is at once one of SiIva's most prominently-ripped games, and a game very much about the state of living game characters have, the idea of how characters in games can affect you in a way that makes them worth remembering for all time. And though the rip is initially in line with the instrumentation of the original Ultimate Koopa theme, it uses the segmented style-shifting sections of Your Worst Nightmare to arrange music from other Nintendo platforming games - the ones primarily bound by featuring characters like Luigi, Peach and Bowser within them, but ones where I can't really place my finger on who their protagonist is. As a result of all these styles and the fervent, desperate, downright nightmarish pace of the music, paired with the full-on galactic-scale orchestral sections near the rips end, it truly feels like a hopeless struggle, a plea from an unknown hero to stay alive, to not be forgotten, to not be lost to the sands of time.

The sheer atmosphere conveyed throughout the entire event was primarily carried through these rips, of course, but it cannot be understated just how much of a part the comments section played in it all. There was no confusion - the buildup had been done so well, the gag established so clearly, that EVERYONE was on board with the day's theming in the comments, and "playing along" with the story's theme. Everyone reminisced and had fond memories of all these games - New Super Bros., Luigi: Superstar Saga, Super 64 DS, and more - yet we were all collectively wondering why things felt so different from before. It was the most fun collective gaslighting I've ever been part of.

As the day came to an end, Mario's fate seemed to be set - the entirety of April 2nd was silent, except for one rip that confirmed that even our beloved Gangsta Mario (see Caramariodansen) was lost. Yet on April 3rd, we were all finally met with Bowser's Finale, a direct followup to Your Best Nightmario by its very same ripper. Blookerstein, the legend behind The expanse of meme in past was split, A fiendish trap has now been set; Behind a tree the villains sit, Terror of sport, the Robbie's Net., this time aided by Sarvéproductions of Goodbye To Love fame, created the absolute perfect way to round out the event - a return to the desperate battle that had once seemed lost, now with the music of Finale instead of Your Worst Nightmare to indicate the turning of the tides - that this legend, nay, SUPER MARIO, was not going to give up. This figment did not deserve to leave us - and Bowser's Finale was his last stand. The excitement in the air, in the comments section, was palpable.

Finale is already an incredible theme, and one that some of us even have some emotional attachment to in the context of SiIva - remember Aphex all the way back in Season 1? Bowser's Finale leverages those feelings, and the theming set up throughout the event as a whole, to incredible effect, with the same structure of going through the styles of various Mario music to rising dramatic effect. Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy - the first two using songs like Slider and A Secret Course that are beloved by so many SiIvaGunner viewers, the third hitting a emotional gutpunch in its orchestral instrumentation, and all three bound together as the games that started this whole thing, the games part of the 3D All-Stars collection. It is with no exaggeration a pitch-perfect rendition of this idea, better than anything I could've ever anticipated before the event began - once again only elevated through the sheer sense of community the entire comments section held through it all, cheering Mario on, collectively remembering his existence - fighting to bring this lost figment back to reality.

Y'know, I've been critical of Season 5 in the past - it is likely still the Season of the channel I was "least" invested in taken on the whole. That is in large part due to its lack of ties to the channel's ongoing lore, as it was focused primarily on self-contained events just like this one. But GOD, those events. I still see people online today who are less in touch with what SiIvaGunner does, who cite this event - "The Disappearance of Super Mario", as some call it - as the absolute peak of SiIvaGunner's output past the Season 1 finale. I wouldn't necessarily agree - but the event was undoubtedly unforgettable, at once an incredible execution of a long-anticipated bit, surprisingly emotionally gripping, whilst also being subtly tied to the very canon and theming of the SiIvaGunner channel itself. I chose to highlight Your Best Nightmario and Bowser's Finale in particular today, but I emplore you to go watch the entire event yourself through the fanmade YouTube playlists - if nothing else to see just how committed to the bit everyone involved truly was.

I Once Again Attempt (And Likely Fail) To Predict An AA7 Announcement

Hey there. So it’s been about nine months since my last post trying to predict when AA7 would be announced, wherein I said I expected an announcement in September/October 2021, and it’s now May 2022 and I still look like a fool. So, in an attempt to sound smart eventually (which really just means I’ll be digging myself further into this hole I’ve found myself in) I’m going to go attempt a guess again.

In this post I will be discussing a few possibilities in which we could expect an AA7 announcement, and hoping that random chance will finally make me look smart. I will also be discussing an apparent “leak” of dubious credibility that may give some more information. And I’ll throw in a few cents about what I expect from the series in the coming years, just for fun. All the while hoping that tumblr doesn’t randomly delete my post again.

And to spare you all, the rest will be under the "keep reading”.

Let’s Pin Down A Very Wide Time Range

The first thing I want to do is get a wide range of when we might expect an announcement, based off of the announcement -> release time frames for new games (not rereleases) in the past decade. (We’re really reaching here.)

AAI: announced April 9 2008, released May 28 2009.

AAI2: announced September 7 2010; TGS this year was 16-19th, therefore it was announced in Famitsu the week before TGS. It was released February 3 2011.

DD: announced January 29 2012 as part of the 10th anniversary event. Released July 25 2013.

DGS: announced April 22 2014, released July 9 2015.

SOJ: announced September 1 2015; TGS this year was 17-20th, so it was announced in Famitsu about two weeks before the event. Released June 9 2016.

DGS2: announced during TGS 2016, on September 17. Released August 3 2017.

Overall, the shortest announcement -> release period this past decade and a bit is AAI2′s five month period from September 2010 to February 2011. The longest is Dual Destinies’ year and a half. I’m not counting rereleases in here because those tend to be shorter (for instance, Chronicles took three months).

For purposes of this post, I’m going to assume an announcement -> release period of about nine months, because that’s what Spirit of Justice, the most recent mainline game, had. As I recall, Dual Destinies was announced at a 10th anniversary event, and was just a title reveal. (According to wikipedia, it was initially announced in 2007, but I’m not counting that because that’s not a real concrete announcement by the sounds of it.) Spirit of Justice’s announcement was more substantial (a spread in Famitsu, a Japanese gaming magazine) and therefore I’ll be counting that one.

But of course, an announcement to release period means nothing when we know neither announcement nor release. The only source of any sort of credibility I could find about when we can expect an AA7 release was from a leaker whose credibility seems to be rather contested. I do not follow gaming news most of the time and I do not know the history of this person’s reliability. So please take this next part not as confirmation and definitely not as credible as confirmed leaks like the 2020 Capcom ones.

Capcom has a pretty good 2022 planned, it seems. Most of their major franchises have something big planned, and Ace Attorney will probably not be an exception. Ace Attorney 7 is indeed in the works, and will be announced in the coming months. It's been speculated that there will be a new protagonist, but nope, I don't think so. Phoenix and Maya will return for a whole new batch of cases. Shu Takumi will direct this new installment and I predict that it'll release worldwide in early 2023.

Overall, this isn’t something completely unreasonable with what we know. The November 2020 Capcom leaks did confirm that AA7 was in the works, even though we’re way past the supposed release period of October-December 2021. (Presumably, we can blame our friend COVID for that.) Assuming it hasn’t been cancelled, it coming this year or next is a reasonable guess. The content, too, seems pretty standard to Capcom. Phoenix and Maya being the leads again will be disappointing to Apollo fans who are still waiting for a proper sequel to AA4 or Athena fans wanting literally anything about her, but fits with Capcom’s general attitude towards 5 and 6 of “go for as much trilogy nostalgia as possible.” (Sorry. I’ll try to keep my opinions out of the rest of this. No guarantees.)

Similarly, Shu Takumi coming back to direct also makes the most sense. We have no idea what he’s been working on since the release of DGS2 five years ago. And with Yamazaki, who did 5, 6, and the AAIs, having left Capcom, bringing back the original director is really the thing that makes the most sense. This should make Takumi fans happy. I *am* admittedly curious about how he feels about 5 and 6 and how he’s going to handle the content introduced in those games.

But we don’t really care about the content in this post, we care about the dates. This leak speculates an AA7 release in early 2023 with an announcement “in the coming months”, which is extremely vague, as I’m sure it should be if you’re leaking something that can be changed at any time. This post was made in early January 2022, for reference, so here in May we are well into “the coming months” with no real sign of an announcement. But, assuming my general guess of “nine month announcement -> release period” and assuming early 2023 is anywhere from January-June (a very generous range), we could see an announcement any time from now to September 2022.

Again, a very generous range.

It’s also relevant to point out that this is a “worldwide release in early 2023″. Typically, AA games have taken a few more months to come out worldwide compared to a Japan-only release, but this has changed with Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (wherein the English release was actually two days earlier than the Japanese, at least in the Americas.) However, for the purposes of this post, I will assume that worldwide and Japanese releases are either synchronous or close enough that it doesn’t matter.

But of course, “now to September” is way too broad for any actual concrete predictions. I’m going to predict a few events/times that I personally think are likely times for an announcement. And probably get all of them wrong. :/

Option 1: THIS WEDNESDAY, MAY 18TH 2022

Disclaimer: This is not based on anything other than I think it would be extremely funny.

So. For those of you who weren’t here last year: Capcom had an orchestra concert April 10, 2021. This concert was streamed online because of the ongoing pandemic. The concert heavily contained music from the as-of-yet unannounced Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, and included the English version of the title and a few localized names from the leaks.

This, everyone thought, was an opportune moment for the announcement of Chronicles, which we all knew was coming from the leaks. It’s a concert featuring TGAA music!

The concert passes. No announcement, to the shock of everyone.

April 21st 2021, a random Wednesday morning, the official Ace Attorney twitter accounts post an announcement for The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, instead of the fan event a week and a half prior. Everyone wonders why they just didn’t do it at the concert.

Jump ahead a year. May 7th, 2022, Capcom has an orchestra concert. The concert contains music from all games in the series (except aai :( and pl vs pw). There is no announcement.

I just think it would be extremely funny if they pull the same thing and announce it on May 18th just after another fan event. Like, who decides that’s a good idea.

Option 2: A 20TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT

“But Grace,” you might be saying, “wasn’t the concert a 20th anniversary event? And isn’t there no 20th anniversary event currently in the works?” you may be right. but let me explain my reasoning.

Ace Attorney has, to my knowledge, run anniversary events for both the 10th and 15th anniversaries. The 10th anniversary event was January 29th 2012 (though I cannot find a site or official record of it, this is from wikipedia’s DD announcement). And the 15th anniversary event was January 22nd 2017. These correspond to about “late January following the anniversary date (October 12th)”.

As for concerts? The 15th anniversary concert was May 6th 2017. If that sounds a little familiar, May 7th 2022 (the first Saturday in May following the anniversary date) was the day of the 20th anniversary concert.

My theory is this: Capcom intended for there to be a 20th anniversary event in late January 2022. This was not announced and postponed because of pandemic concerns (it was around the time Omicron was taking off, which was a lot of uncertainty.) The 15th anniversary was announced September 17 2016, during TGS. AA did not show up at 2021′s TGS, and again, this was in the middle of pandemic uncertainty. This is a reasonable assumption; the previous events were held in person. Already, they’ve had to cancel the stage play Turnabout Parallel World twice because of the pandemic. They may not have wanted to take the risk, given the situation in late January.

But now, with things being... well, I definitely don’t want to say the pandemic is over, but with more people being vaccinated and things opening enough for them to hold the concert in person, maybe they’d reconsider holding the 20th anniversary event for a little celebration. No idea when that would be. No idea how much notice there would be. But that is a reasonable time, assuming it happens, for a game announcement.

... Or the week after the event. That’s also a possibility.

Option 3: ... E3?

Honestly I’m not really buying this one. E3 is a typical place for game announcements, but Ace Attorney has to my knowledge never announced anything at E3. And furthermore, E3 isn’t really officially happening in any capacity. There are rumors that Nintendo would do a massive Nintendo Direct around E3 time anyways, which is the most likely place within E3 for an AA announcement unless Capcom is doing their own separate thing (which I have not seen any indication of).

This is really just based on “Games are sometimes announced at E3″ and I don’t think it’s likely at all, but I wanted to cover the basics just to be safe.

Option 4: THERE ARE ONLY SO MANY TIMES TOKYO GAME SHOW CAN FAIL ME

Tokyo Game Show is my go-to prediction for a new AA announcement every year since 2018′s “unmissable announcement”. And I firmly believe that fifth time is the charm! I Do Not Learn From My Mistakes! And I Still Think That TGS 2022 Is My Year!

This is the one I think is most likely. It falls at the end of my range of “now to September 2022″. Either during or prior to TGS is the most common place for Ace Attorney games to be announced, with 3/6 of the games I covered above being either announced during TGS or in the leadup to it through Famitsu. I still think this is the time. I still think this is the place. September is the month of disappointment but perhaps, this once, it will bring me joy.

Apparently this’ll be September 15th-18th; meaning an announcement in the first few weeks of September (or perhaps late August) is a likelihood. And now that I said it, it probably won’t come true. :(

Option 5: SOME RANDOM DAY OUT OF NOWHERE

Timing has no meaning.

Option 6: WE’RE NEVER GETTING AN AA7. GIVE UP AND ACCEPT YOUR FATE.

And with that, I have covered every possibility. I now cannot physically be wrong. Finally, Capcom, I have outsmarted you.

A Place For General Speculation

Of course, all this is covering AA7. I made a post a couple months ago about some possibilities for a 456 port given a recent trademark for “Apollo Justice”, though that’s inconclusive.

There’s also, of course, the possibility of an eventual DGS3/TGAA3, given the success of Chronicles on modern platforms. Personally, I doubt this would come out before AA7 and 456 ports. I plan to make a post covering that stuff....... someday. Maybe. Eventually.

But, if this leak I discussed in the post is true and Takumi is the writer for AA7, that opens up a few interesting possibilities. It could mean Takumi is going back to being the primary mainline writer, meaning that TGAA would be taken over by a new director. This would give Capcom the ability to be working on a “mainline” and “spinoff” game at any given time and kind of alternate them (sort of like the 2009-2017 period of more or less interchanging mainline games with Investigations/Great games.) This... could be interesting. Takumi hasn’t worked on mainline for quite a while. I have no idea if DD and SOJ at all line up with his vision. I don’t know what he planned after AA4. He could try to branch off of plot points introduced in DD and SOJ, or he could ignore them completely and go for an AA4 followup, or he could ignore everything and do a “soft reboot” with Phoenix and Maya.

Similarly, the possibility of Takumi not on TGAA raises some interesting questions. Without spoiling anything, the way TGAA wraps up is pretty tidy. While I loved the games, I’m not dying for a sequel or followup on the protagonists. And maybe Takumi feels the same way - he didn’t seem to want to continue the story of Phoenix & Co after the trilogy, which is why AA4 tried to go with an all new cast. Maybe he doesn’t have any more ideas for Ryunosuke and Susato, but a new writer could come up with some adventures for them, which could be good or suck a lot. We’d have no way of knowing.

Also, it is possible that Takumi is working on AA7 now but will switch back to TGAA3 if one gets greenlighted - there’s no reason to believe they thought they’d be doing another TGAA at the time of the capcom leaks and aa7 development.

Overall, for future games in the series, I’m anticipating AA7 is next. Assuming they made some progress pre-pandemic and have been slowly putting it together over the past two years and they’ve *got* to be close to an announcement time now. Following that, I think that the relative success of TGAA and the demise of the 3DS eShop mean that they’d want to work on a 456 port to come next, and maybe, eventually, a TGAA3. No sign of investigations ports though, because I have given up on expecting a miracle, and Capcom hates my guts.

If you read all of this, thanks! I’d always be interested to hear what other people think about my speculation.

TL;DR:

- I once again am expecting an AA7 announcement this year. I think that Tokyo Game Show is still the most likely, though there are softer possibilities for Very Soon, E3-range, or an as-of-yet unannounced 20th anniversary event.

- An unconfirmed leak of dubious credibility says that AA7 will be coming out early 2023, starring Phoenix and Maya and written by Takumi. Again, the credibility of this is unknown, so definitely don’t take it as confirmation of any sort, or any more reliable than anything I’ve said here.

- If Takumi does come back to mainline, we might get a new writer for any TGAA sequels. If we are getting a TGAA3, I’d expect it to be after AA7 and a 456 port at the very least.

- I Am So Normal. I Am So Completely Normal Right Now.

- I really need to stop making these kinds of posts because it’s so embarrassing when I’m wrong, but I’m going ahead and doing it anyway.

THE PAPER! 😵

A renowned Latin American page on beauty queens on Facebook made a post assuring that the Miss Grand International 2020 candidates, Mariana Varela and Fabiola Valentin "are in a relationship." The account stated that Argentina came to Puerto Rico to spend Christmas with her "girlfriend".

Due to the viralization of the publication that already has more than 6,000 likes and is about to reach 10,000 shares, the beauties declared that they ARE FRIENDS and they regret ruining the novel, that they invent another one 😱

After the response, the fan-page apologized and gave as an excuse that although it was published a day before, they had it scheduled for April Fools' Day... Yes, of course hahahaha 🥴

Supernatural in Neopets

So in case you have never heard of Neopets it was (and still is technically) a beloved website targeted towards kids where users could own and take care of virtual pets called Neopets in the world of Neopia. It was owned by Scientologists for a bit but that isn’t really relevant I just wanted to mention it. In 2004 Neopets was bought by Viacom, who also notably own Nickelodeon. They would frequently promote Neopets on Nickelodeon and the channel’s website.

I just wanted to set the stage a bit because it is so baffling to me that they decided to have an event with Sam and Dean as Neopets.

So in October 2013 for a Halloween event Neopets had the Spooky Food Eating contest where players could cheer on their favorite contestant and boo their opponents to win prizes. However, the contest ended in disaster.

The contests in order from left to right were Moloch, Scarlet, Myrtle, and Turfy. The contest lasted 7 days and Scarlet was announced the winner. A day later, she transormed into a monster.

Then the contest was left a wreck.

Luckily, attending the event were two of Neopias most renown monster hunters, Kell the Wocky and Cobrin the Ogrin.

AKA Just straight up Sam and Dean’s fursonas.

Throughout the event players could help Kell and Cobrin hunt down Scarlet in the Perilous Catacombs. At the end of the event Neopets released an epilogue showing that they had brought Scarlet back home to their family.

However, I can already hear your protests, it could simply just be a coincidence that these two neopets look like Dean and Sam. Well, I would usually go okay you can have that take. But this was not the last we would see of the Winchester’s neopet counterparts. In 2021 as an April Fool’s day Joke Neopets announced their new streaming service, Neovision+. And there they were among the line up of shows. Spookynatural Season 41 starring Kell and Cobrin.

Also Doctor Who was there.

The Signal Towers forever unfinished meal, a sudden loss in control

We have always theorized that the tower eats the souls of the viewers until they are left as nothing more than empty husks who are ready to take their own lives. The viewers... are forever meant to be lost within the tvs perfect false world, until they are fated to pay the ultimate price for their viewership, the price being of course... their bodies and souls!

Fans have always suspected that the bodies of the viewers were sucked through the tvs in order to be added to the giant flesh mass within the tower, However, later on, many of us began to speculate that the viewers might have only been added to the body of a much larger creature and that the giant eyes seen near the end of the game were never part of the various viewers within the pale city, these giant eyes...could very well have been an entity of their own!

If this mass of flesh and eyes was the true culprit behind the destruction of the pale city then perhaps despite its many victims, the thin man was the one exception to its hunger. Due to its reliance on the thin mans powers, many of us had assumed that the eye chose to keep him locked away deep within its many layers of walls, halls, stairs and rooms in an effort to corrupt his mind and force him to do its terrible bidding .

And yet something doesn't make sense...of all the enemies that were seen throughout the game, the thin man was the only one shown with a thin and frail body. The hunter, the teacher, the doctor and the viewers were all quite fat when compared to the thin man, but why? Everyone within the city was fated to be fattened and distorted until the time came for them to be consumed by the tower, so why was the thin man the only one who was so... thin?!....unless....his fate was not much different than theirs.....but still different in its own way...

Where am I gong with this?... well, when we see thin man, he is noted to spend the majority of his life sitting in a tiny room somewhere deep within the tower.

As thin man ages over time, several of us began to notice something odd, something that was so obvious to begin with that we didn't even bother to question it at the time....The tiny room that held the thin man prisoner... may not have been just a room!...but else could it have been?

well, before monos power was used to restore the eye entity to its original tower form, the area he was trapped in was technically still nothing more that a part of its body!.

Considering that mono fell deep within the depths of towers flesh, this room could very well have been symbolized to not only be monos life long prison...but a space that would forever remain empty...a space that could never be filled by just anyone. If we think of the tower as a body with its own organs in the form of different rooms, then what if the tiny room we saw mono imprisoned in...was symbolized to be the Towers own stomach!.

Many of us had originally theorized that perhaps the thin mans energy and soul were no exception to the eye entities wrath. If this is true then this would mean that unlike the rest of the viewers who were forced to wait until their time came to be fully consumed by the eye, the thin man was forever doomed to be slowly eaten away by the tower as his power was used to send out its transmission to the rest of the world!. If the room is truly the towers stomach then this would mean that with each passing year, the tower slowly ate away a little more of the thin mans body and soul, until eventfully, he became nothing more than the thin, frail old man that we saw him as in the game. The thin man...may have been truly trapped within “the belly of the beast” this entire time!

However, unlike the rest of its victims, its possible that the eye restrained itself from adding the thin man to its fleshy body, why exactly would it do that? because it needs the thin man to continue living of course!. It is the thin mans power that allows it to spread its hypnotic spell throughout the tvs of the world

So then, what if unlike the rest of its victims, the eye looked upon the thin man not as a dish that should be eaten whole, but rather as a meal that should never be finished! After all, If it is to continue in its never ending desire to feast upon the world, then it needs the thin man to exist and allow its vicious cycle of consumption to continue. Rather than leave the thin man to the same fate as the other residents of the world, the eye could very well have chosen to throw a piece of him up, out of its stomach and back out into the world in order to feast upon his newly born flesh and soul over and over again, that newly born form being of course...MONO.... and as he continues to relive a new life outside the tower, the one piece of his “remains” continues to suffer within the tower itself.

Yes, it truly seems as though nothing can stop this horrific force of flesh and eyes, the world is forever there to be consumed by it, through the use of others.... nothing can ever hope to stand in its way, it is in control …or is it?....

On April 1, 2021, the twitter page became increasingly active , however, it was not acting like its normal hauntingly scary self as it presented a “new game”

Naturally this was supposed to be an April fools joke to the public. However, despite this, many fans began to question why the twitter needed to act as someone else... just to present a joke? it could have very easily done this with out changing its tone.

As the day went on and as we continued to view a variety of goofy replies, something bizarre occurred, once April fools day came to a close.

The original twitter page was coming back!... but something felt off... rather than take back the twitter page to its original form, it was almost as if it was struggling to take back the account from some foreign entity. For those that do not have a twitter page or have gone through every single comment on the account, you should know that many of us have come to realize that the holder of the account could very well have been the flesh void within the tower, in other words, the twitter page was a representation of the eye entity itself communicating with the public!

As April fools ended, the original twitter page took back control of the account...albeit in an a horrifying manner.

Naturally, the strangeness didn't end just then and there, of all the things to say to the public to explain the sudden and bizarre change in the twitter accounts activity, the original twitter page simply stated that a “rogue signal” interfered with its communication.

Despite the fans delight in welcoming back the original twitter and being done with April fools, the twitter decided to instead continue with the recipe contest in an effort to select a winner. As the contest ended the twitter revealed to everyone that it had taken everyones joke recipes and had tried them out for itself. In an ironic turn of events, the twitters favorite dish was revealed to be a mono’s soup!...what's most peculiar about its choice of dish was how it commented that this soup was “Nearly as good as eating the real mono”!

If the twitter page is a representation of the eye entity within the tower and if the tower is truly feasting upon the viewers of the world... then does this mean that the thin man is also just another part of its meal?...maybe..... And I know what you are thinking, “this was just an April fools joke, just something to make fun at”...but what if it wasn't?...ever since the release of little nightmares 2, the twitter page began to hint at certain details of the game in the form of cryptic messages.

The twitter page has even stated to us, on multiple occasions, that it lives to make us suffer, it is the one who is in control and we are nothing more than soon to be residents of its world that will be infected with escapism,

There is no way of escape....and yet... how was it that a “rogue signal” was capable of interfering with its control? unless....something BIG interfered!?.... but who or rather what could have possibly been powerful enough to resist or even fight against the eyes control? Of all the times to present such a struggle for control, why chose now?.... unless....has their been a shift in power within the little nightmares world?... If so, then what the heck is it, or rather, what caused it!? We may not know what it was right now, but something lead the eye entity to lose its grip on the false reality it had maintained for thousands of years......was it mono?... or is it something that has just entered the range of the pale city?..... I guess we will just have to wait and see...for now that’s just a theory, a little nightmares II theory!

Winter 2021 Superlatives

I know Horimiya isn’t done yet but I’m still gonna do this while I have some time.

Before I start, the shows I actually watched this season: -Horimiya -Jaku Chara Tomozaki-kun -Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 -Promised Neverland Season 2 -Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 -Redo of Healer -Tatoeba Last Dungeon -Tenkuu Shinpan -Urasekai Picnic -Wonder Egg Priority -Yuru Camp Season 2

And now on to the awards!

Best OP: Seize the Day (Yuru Camp Season 2)

Many of the anime from this season had some great OPs. Most people point to Vivid Vice as being the best but one thing that really holds it back for me is the final shot of Itadori using the Black Flash looks like it came from fucking Ex-Arm. Urasekai Picnic, Horimiya, and hell even TENKUU SHINPAN had great openings. But Seize the Day is the one in the entire set that had me grinning ear to ear every time it played. It’s jazzy, comfy, and fun, and just like every other piece of music in the entirety of Yuru Camp it is a vibe and a half. I saw a list on YouTube ranking every OP from this season and it had Seize The Day at #30... I promptly disliked that video.

Best ED: You & Me (Urasekai Picnic)

Unlike Best OP, this one wasn’t even CLOSE. You & Me is just a beautiful song and a perfect vibe that I’ve listened to time and time again. After Jujutsu Kaisen completely shit the bed, changing the perfection of Lost in Paradise to something much more generic, there was really no competition.

Best Boy: Gojo Satoru (Jujutsu Kaisen)

How Gojo didn’t win this award at the actual Crunchyroll Awards is beyond me. Anyone who’s seen Jujutsu Kaisen knows why Gojo deserves this award, no contest.

Worst Boy: Bullet (Redo of Healer)

Need I say anything? I would not wanna be alone in a room with this man.

Best Girl: Fuuka Kikuchi (Jaku Chara Tomozaki-kun)

There were plenty of good choices here. Every girl in Horimiya not named Yoshikawa was a contender, Yuru Camp is full of great girls, Mayuko was my favorite part of Tenkuu Shinpan, Nino actually got some character to her this season and Yotsuba is Yotsuba. That being said, the definitive Best Girl in my opinion is Kikuchi. Every interaction Tomozaki has with her just gave me pure joy. Timid characters don’t always do it for me but her underlying passions for reading, writing and Tomozaki shine through immediately, and she’s just so goddamn cute man. I’m really glad Tomozaki-kun wasn’t a harem because it’s obvious from the get-go who his best choice is.

Worst Girl: Yuki Yoshikawa (Horimiya)

Welcome to Emotional Manipulators ‘R Us, today we have a 2-for-1 special as Yoshikawa destroys the potential love life of TWO of her classmates with her little pretend-boyfriend game she plays with Ishikawa, breaking Sakura’s heart in the process. Good god what a little bitch. My only solace from this character is that she has yet to get what she actually wants and my god I hope it stays that way.

Best Episode: TIE: Nonstandard (Jujutsu Kaisen) and Accomplices (ALSO Jujutsu Kaisen)

HOLY SHIT. That’s ONE way to get me into shonen anime, I guess. Jujutsu Kaisen is just incredible. At the beginning I really wasn’t sure how I would end up feeling about it but now that it’s set everything up and shown just how incredible its animation can be, I’ve become completely sold on it, and this was in large part because of both of these episodes. Itadori & Toudou vs Hanami and Itadori & Nobura vs Eso & Kechizu are just two incredible fight scenes, to the point where I genuinely don’t know how to pick a favorite here. So for what I think is the first time ever, we have a TIE on our hands.

Worst Episode: Until the Snow Falls (Horimiya)

Don’t get me wrong, I like Horimiya a lot, but everything I just said about Yoshikawa applies here. Her actions are genuinely appalling and the only consequences she suffers are that the status quo is maintained. There was nothing about this episode I liked in spite of the rest of the series honestly being incredible.

Best Scene: Keyarga Breaks Flare’s Fingers (Redo of Healer)

No this is not an April Fool’s Day joke. This scene still shakes me no matter how many times I watch it. The grotesque visuals, the malicious pleasure spread across Keyarga’s face, and Flare’s voice acting perfectly framing the horror of her current situation, and it’s all capped off with Keyarga healing her hands only to start from the beginning again. This scene is what got me to watch through the entirety of Redo of Healer after going back and forth on the idea, and NO THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE WHAT IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWS.

Biggest Surprise: Tatoeba Last Dungeon

THIS IS WHAT KUMA KUMA KUMA BEAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN. I love how Last Dungeon refuses to take itself seriously without being annoying. Lloyd honestly has legitimate reason to believe he’s not strong enough (for crying out loud, the kid grew up in a village full of people similar to him and the kingdom didn’t let him pass the military exam). I was afraid the show would be carried by Marie at first but god damn EVERYONE is hilarious. It’s not QUITE on the level of Bofuri but it’s just a couple steps below, and it was still a show I was excited to watch every Monday.

Biggest Disappointment: Promised Neverland Season 2

I haven’t even read the Promised Neverland manga and I could STILL feel nothing but disappointment after the show’s conclusion. I don’t know what was anime-original and what came from the manga, but absolutely everything felt rushed past the first episode. The first season is still easily one of the best anime I’ve ever watched and I was SO excited for the follow-up, only for it to have NONE of the quality of the first season.

Anime of the Season: Wonder Egg Priority

Wonder Egg Priority is probably the best anime-original I’ve ever seen... it’s not my favorite, Anohana still holds that distinction, but there is one thing WEP has over its competition: I’ve never watched an anime original and thought “We might have a full-on franchise on our hands.” The show seems like it’s reaching the end but I think I had that thought around episode 7. Every character is fully fleshed-out with with distinct personalities that occasionally clash as they aim for their common goal. It’s a depressing, surreal show but in a strange sort of way it’s just beautiful, like Ai’s heterochromia. I’m still sort of hoping this does find a way to become a full franchise because I’d love more of these characters in my life.
