Pluto is 0’ Aquarius, and the entire astrological community is FREAKING OUT rn. Because the last time this happened, a lot of revolutions happened…on the world stage, it’s way more intimidating.

In personal charts, almost everyone deals with a squared Pluto in their lifetime. Millennials. Pluto Scorpios. You’re up. It’s just part of growing up. Ask your favorite Aries, Libra (squares), Cancer (who had the opposition), and Capricorn (conjunct) placements about the last 20 years for them. They all had a double whammy with Saturn in Capricorn for two years during the same time period, 2017-2019.

Whichever House is ruled by Aquarius will be completely transformed by definition for you. It’s meant to be that way 🙏 There are thousands of resources available to research to your heart’s content, about your specific placements, for those feeling nervous. It’s hard to predict 20 years.

The most powerful of placements is the conjunction, Aquarius, when Pluto is on top of one of your own planets, and within 2-3 degrees. Big changes.

Next is the opposition (Leo placements) within 2-3 degrees. Very challenging energy for them.

Positive energy comes from Trines & Sextiles (Gemini, Libra, Aries & Sagittarius) placements, within 2-3 degrees. Those keep us sane right? 😆

Taurus & Scorpio face the squares, also difficult & challenging energy, within 2-3 degrees.

When Pluto is not within 2-3 degrees of other things in your chart, positively or negatively, life will go on as normal, with a focus on clearing the slate & rebuilding the themes of your Aquarian house (we all have one, if intercepted, still that house), and however that energy works for you. Over time of course. 20 years is a long time and eventually it will become just another part of regular life. It will retrograde back through Capricorn from June-Dec. Back to Aqua. Retrograding again Sept-Nov 2024, and then it continues on for good. And everyone will go back to freaking out about Saturn 😆 Those with early fixed degrees 0-5 or so will get hit several times during those periods. Go with the flow, and be open to what’s coming, that’s all that can really be said.

The Great Aquarius Spell of 2024

Are you the kind of person who wants to make a real change in the world? Are you the kind of person who thinks BIG? Who is disappointed in the status quo? Do you want to see a better world for all people?

Then this is the spell for you.

And no, this isn't exactly a spell tutorial. Let's call it a spell invitation. A cosmic chance to supercharge your magic.

Why now?

This month (January 2024) has two days that strongly highlight Aquarius and Uranus energy. For those in the know, the sign of Aquarius and Uranus, its planetary ruler, are the rebels, the rulebreakers, the big thinkers, and the revolutionists of the astrological zodiac.

I want to list for you a couple of famous Aquariuses throughout history for a moment so might get an idea of what I mean here: Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, Ferdinand Magellan, Fredrick Douglas, Charles Darwin, Galileo Galilei, Yoko One, Charles Lindbergh, Aaron Burr, Bob Marley, Kim Jong-Il, Rosa Parks, and Grigori Rasputin.

One thing that can be said for the Aquarius spirit is that it rarely leads to a milk toast personality. From great revolutionaries to despots to peace activists, Aquarius is THE sign of political change, the kind of change that ripples through history.

Circle these two days on your calendar:

On Saturday, 1/20, the Sun and Pluto meet up in conjunction and move in lockstep with one another into the sign of Aquarius.

One week later, on 1/27, Uranus stations direct.

These are the kind of days when change happens. But we witches don't just let change happen, we MAKE change happen. This is the best aligned chance to enact real and lasting change - the kind of change that the above listed Aquariuses made - for quite some time.

We just need to use it.

As stated above, I am not going to outline an exact ritual or spell for you here because this spell needs to come from you. It should, in some way, reflect the change that YOU want to see in the world.

But I will give you some places to start.

A General Spell Framework

There are three major players in these powerhouse days. 1/20 involves the Sun, Uranus, and Pluto and 1/27 involves Uranus. As outer planets, Uranus and Pluto are considered beyond human influence and most astrologers believe that they cannot be petitioned in the same way that the seven planetary powers can. The Sun, on the other hand, can be. Create an altar to the Sun. Moreover, create an altar to the Sun in the sign of Aquarius. Aquarius is our fixed air sign so elements of air can be added to your altar. Additionally, you could include photos of famous Aquarius changemakers that you particularly admire or even non-Aquarius changemakers who worked with the particular cause you are championing. The Sun supports life itself, Uranus and Pluto are our planets of change, and Aquarius supports community of all kinds. Intentions around the world as one community will be highly effective during this time. If you are struggling for an intention, something like "Everybody deserves more love, not less" is a reasonable place to start.

Think big. The sky is the limit here. This isn't a day for magic to fix your own life - this is a day for magic to fix the world. Do you want to stop climate instability? End homelessness? Redress great injustices?

The symbols for the Sun, Uranus, Pluto, and Aquarius may prove useful in your spellwork. You can carve them onto candles or onto petition papers.

If you work with tarot in your spellwork, there are a few cards that can be worked with to enact great changes. The one that comes to mind immediately is the Death Card because what greater change exists than to exit this life for the next? The death cards can be directed to remove anything from a situation through a metaphorical "killing" of it. And then, of course, we have the Tower - the OG card connected to the energy of Uranus. The Tower is associated with dramatic and unthinkable change (as the card depicts) but it has a deeper esoteric association with the changing of belief systems, like the sign of Aquarius! And then we have Judgment which can serve the purpose of bringing about consequences to those that need to face their actions.

Alternatively, if you work with runes, both the Dagaz and the Tiwaz runes can be used to enact change (Dagaz, as a brand new day and a brand new chance) and Tiwaz (to enact divine justice). The rune Halagaz can also be used similarly to the Tower card to bring down systems and enact the change of inevitability. Though I find the energy of Hagalaz to be similar to that of the Tower, I favor the rune in this case as it implies the inevitable rebirth at the end of the change: when the ice melts, new things will grow again.

That said, as always, your magic needs to work for you.

New moon in Aquarius

This new moon on Friday February 9th, 2024 at 5:59pm is "closer to the earth." Which makes it particularly powerful.

1:41pm angel number confirmation.

New moons symbolize fresh starts, new beginnings. They have the potential for growth and transformation. New moons are a good time for intention setting and focusing on our hearts desire.

Aquarius is a fixed air sign. It is said that they represent a water bearer, from the origin of the latin word. When I hear this, I think of the fact that aquarius may hold the weight of the collective's ~feelings~ and emotions. They may be empaths who need time to recharge by passion projects and feeling like they are positively impacting the world & collective consciousness. Ruled by Uranus, Aquarius is one of the oldest constellations recognized in the second century. Uranus governs innovation, technology and surprising events. They are clever, assertive, confident, progressive and innovative! My sister is an aquarius sun and this all checks out. She is a school psychologist and a big thinker.

Air signs, personally, are hard to understand by me, a water, earth and fire dominant. It is said that they are technical thinkers with a distinctive attitude. The way I understand them most is their attitude for I am a heavily fixed sign person.

So, with this information, what would this Aquarius full moon represent for the collective?

Aquarius is the 11th sign of the zodiac, following Capricorn and before Pisces, the end of the yearly cycle. While Capricorn may represent foundations, tradition and the building blocks of society, Aquarius represents community building. Making sure everyone is included, sharing their diverse strengths to make this world a better place. You may want to take a look at how society has shaped you. It has a direct impact on your home life, your family, our schooling and how we are raised.

The moon is all about our hidden, emotional side. This is the start of a new cycle and it would be good to re-evaluate past cycles and intentions. What are your intentions as of late? Are they nonexistent? Are you indifferent? Are you just trying to get by? I have noticed a lot of people standing up for what is right, facing the adversities in schools, in the USA government and the unfair treatment a lot of United States citizens are going through. I believe we are slowly moving from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius. What does that mean to you? It reminds ME of the revolution..

Aquarius to me is a happy go-lucky-sign that also works to get things done. They may not want to, but they do what they have to do to survive.. don't we all? I'm excited to embrace a world where we don't have to give our life away to work we don't believe in. A world where we're essentially being slaves to closed-minded thinking and old patterns. I'm hoping for a world of barter and trade, of learning a craft, perfecting it and then learning some more!

For this Aquarius New Moon, ask yourself what intentions will align you with your truest, highest self. What sets your soul on fire, in the best way possible? What brings tears to your eyes because they're overfilled with joy? Is life supposed to be stressful? What feels like joy to you but still allows you to get what you need to get done? What do you want to do with this life?

You have the power to change the patterns no longer serving you and the collective. You have all the power to change your life, to shift your way of thinking, to sit and be still. You have all the power to manifest the life of your dreams. When you focus on what your soul desires, you shift into that energy. As soon as you embody the energy you desire, you attract likeminded individuals that BELONG in your life! What feels better than the people around you understanding you and having the desire to make life better for the collective whilst genuinely enjoying life?! A sense of community is something that cultivates peace and feels like a warm hug in this world turned cold.

NYE question: what was your biggest lesson this year?

It might be cliché, but the biggest lesson I learned is that I shouldn’t leave things I really want to do for later. I looked into my past and realized that some things I really wanted for myself didn’t make sense anymore, because I changed. And it was hard to accept it. This is a lesson I’m still learning.

Bonus: I realized that I don’t need to voice my opinions about everything and that ignoring unnecessary drama is better for my mental healthy. I won’t elaborate.
