Ekko used the lens on his mask to zoom in on the docks.
He spotted Sevika with her brawny, armed henchmen loading shimmer onto the ship. "You got eyes on her too?" His distorted voice asked.
Jinx zoomed in with her telescope. Her face always twisted in repulsion, as if the mere sight of her emitted a stomach-churning stench.
"Yep," She made a pop sound with the 'P'.
"There she is. In all her hideous shit-tastic glory." She sneered. She stood up on her hoverboard decorated with graffiti and stickers.
"You ready?"
Jinx is usually the first person to infiltrate the ships. She burst in with full force firing PowPow and tossing grenades before the rest of the Firelights followed her lead.
Her twin braids would have swayed gently in the breeze, but tonight was switched for a bun. PowPow was strapped over her shoulder and ZapZap ready in her hand.
She checked her ammo and nodded curtly. Even if she ran out, the double-body waist belts and chest harness doubled as bullet holders.
"Ready to go, Hotshot!" She beamed with a wink.
He smiled softly as warmth bloomed in his chest at his girlfriend. His hand softly squeezed her shoulder. "Be careful out there, Sugarbomb."
Jinx assured him with an endearing smile, "Aren't I always?"
Ekko scoffs, making her chuckle and roll her eyes.
She held his chin with her thumb and index finger. Her other held his gloved one, and he instantly held it back.
"You worry too much." She pressed a kiss to his mask where his lips would have been. She gave his hand a gentle squeeze and stroked the back of it with her thumb.
He knew they could all take care of themselves-especially Jinx. But that didn't quell any worries he had about the outcome of these raids.
"Now then," She clapped her hands and rubbed them together with a manic grin. "Let's go fuck up that ogre's night!"
She playfully smirked as she gave a salute. She gracefully maneuvered her board towards the ship.
The idle chatter came to an immediate stop; Her gleeful laughter mixed with screams whilst rapid gunfire filled the night.

Is Cassius suited to be a leader?
I wonder whose bright idea at Vincula it was to make Cassius the leader.
Don't get me wrong, they're my (and I'm pretty sure everyone else's) favourite character, it's impossible not to like them. But what I ADORE is them having some very real shortcomings, and these shortcomings aren't very compatible with leadership.
The leader should keep their cool at any situation, stay level-headed about any problem (at least on the outside), and they DON'T act on impulse of jump straight into danger. It's just irresponsible - the leader is the decision-maker for the whole team, the one who plans and solves issus. If the team loses its head - who's gonna do all the work?
Ok, they have Greg to get them out of trouble. I think I need an art with Cass wearing "I get myself into trouble" shirt and Greg wearing "I'm getting everyone's asses out of trouble" one… hm. But still! Well, let's start from the beginning. First of all, it became clear to me in season 1 that Vincula, probably, didn't really have all that much budget and the Breach was a little experimental side-project of theirs, so they couldn't go for some super pro scientists. I mean Lizzie is… err alright, but Alyx sounds VERY young? And a physicist looks like a really important role for exploring new worlds?.. Plus, super pro scientists would have most likely rejected the proposal since they all treasure their lives pretty much, thanks a lot, and have their own research going. They are used to sitting at the tables for that, mostly, or ok, being in the wild, but with as many safety precoutions as possible. I mean, look at Silas. Classic and understandable. So Vincula needed not only people with paranormal experience, but also some desperate poor unfortunate souls who'd be ready to risk anything - to have a chance to escape, to prove something to themselves, just earn enough money to live happily for some years maybe… or naive, young ones who'd be happy to go through danger if it means something bright and great on the other side. In any case, they needed people who could take the risk, this had to be the main requirement.
Well, THIS one Cassus meets to an exessive degree.
Then, they are active, hate stalling - which is good for Vincula, the team should have the drive and someone to provide it. They are also overflowing with responsibility for others, and I LOVE how this is starting to play out by the end of season 2, I'll expand on this later. So Cass will make sure the team doesn't lose anyone as much as it's humanly possible, good. They also keep their physical form in check, which is important if you want to send someone to an expedition. And last but not least, they are a biologist - sounds logical for a biotech company to appoint a biologist as the head of the team, especially if they are SO ready to dive head-first into anything just to see and learn and study and are brimming with enthusiasm.
Oh, and did I mention Cassius (and, therefore, the whole team) should be easy to manipulate since Vincula has a lever over them?
Looks good!
Except nearly every point of this list is a double-edged sword.
First of all, the responsibility. Oh yes, Cass is filled with it to the brink, no doubts here. The problem is, it doesn't extend to their own safety, only for the others. Which can easily lead to the team losing their head, both literally and figuratively, in the middle of the mission. It's a good thing, I guess, that Cass doesn't do much actual planning. They were right back in the worm cave when they told Silas they don't have a plan because no one knows what's coming at them anyway. And Vincula gives the team some guidelines on what to do. So what role does Cassius play here at all?..
To me it looks like they are the inspiration for the breachers, said driving force, someone to push forward. Little did Vincula know Cass is just as good at pushing back and not moving an inch forward if they decide so...
Anyway, this CAN actually work, with one condition. There has to be TWO heads. One embodying the ideals, the driving force, inspiring others to follow them, the charismatic one. Cass checks all the boxes. And the other one - cautios, calculating, level-headed, not constricted by black-and-white thinking, the planner, because even in the most unknown conditions there should be SOME course of action prepared. The grey cardinal, so to say. And... this place is vacant in breachers team. Ok HAS been vacant up until later in S2. Which is why they were unbalanced for a looong time. I'm surprised they've lost only one member before getting to Breach 4. Greg tries his best to be the voice of reason and Silas warnes agains the worst possible outcomes but they are often batted away. Cassius doesn't take them as seriously as they should, and this results in casualties.
But anyway, back to the safety responsibility not being extended to Cassius themselves. To me this screams some really serius issues which are bound to backfire, and in a potentially highly dangerous unpredictable environment I'd want my people to be as mentally stable as possible. Alright, to be fair this can probably be only said about Greg and J out of the whole team. Maybe Alyx, I'm not so sure about her, being succeptible to all the hallucinations. And it DOES backfire mutiple times! Cass constantly charges right into action which results into them being hurt. This can't be good for the team's spirit. Cassius glues them together, and it's a very important role. If they are lost, the team will fall apart. Cassius seems to not realize this, and this is a fatal flaw for a leader in my eyes.
This one also leads to another thing - they are hot-headed and impulsive. It's the dark side of their drive: they hate to sit still and want to move forward, but this can lead to carelessness. The breachers had to make effort to convince them to listen to Lizzie when she spotted the acid Nessie and they didn't know it was there yet. What if the team didn't manage? And after they did, OF COURSE Cass had to volunteer to get the water. Because they see themself as totally disposable, meaning nothing. Goes very well with their sort of self-centeredness and coarseness in social situations, yep. Damn I love how this character is built because it all makes so much sense and fits so well together! *_*
So, we already established that lack of self-preservation a.k.a. responsibility for their own safety, especially paired with their hot temper, takes from Cass' ability to be a good leader.
Being very driven also showed its dark side.
Next, the lever thing. Cass complies so far, but they aren't the one to be obedient, and they are getting closer and closer to the breaking point when all the threats won't matter if they put the team and other worlds safety on the line. Vincula and Yanus seemed to miss the fact that Cass will give themselves up in a blink of an eye if it means others will be safe and sound. Which also means don't back this person into a corner. At best they will stand their ground like a rock, at worst they'll start biting back, and this will hurt. That, or do something stupid that will undermine the whole mission and will take some budget to cover the losses at the very least.
Right, about "something stupid". Cass is emotional. They are the beating living heart of the team, but also impulsive and hot-headed, as I mentioned. And they CAN let their emotions take the better of them. Not in any case, they have to be exposed to a considerable pressure for that, but one can't break the heart and expect it to keep pumping the blood for the whole body to keep moving. Also, partly due to their iself-worth issues, they aren't really that well-versed in social situations which creates conflicts. Cass is charismatic and seems to be able to pull even a tree into a friendly conversation if they want to, but this just barely saves them as the glue of the team. Others correct them from time to time, and Cass is already pretty self-conscious about themselves being not very sensitive to others. It's not a bad thing on its own but not very fitting for a leader, is it?
Now, let's follow this emotional thread back to the responsibility. I mentioned that Cassius is overflowing with it, and it's actually not very good. First of all, they grew too attached to the team, so they won't be able to make some cold-blooded decisions which may be necessary in dangerous environment. Ok, the team likes to think for themselves so they just decide collectively. Good.
But - and this is my favourite thing that picked up the most in the end of season 2 - Cassius doesn't manage to bear the weight of this responsibility because of how attached they are to everyone and their perfectionism in this department. The responsibility has already transformed into a full-blown anxiety, dragging Cass down and feeding to their other insecurities. Cassius is breaking underneath it all. They took up this job and role - and they don't really manage. They are still going to carry on with it bacause of the responsibility and their strong principles, but they are already crumbling down. And starting to make fatal mistakes.
I didn't listen to S3 yet and I'm VERY curious how they are going to handle the loss of Greg. It's good Silas is being taken seriously now and sort of co-regulates with Cass, helping to manage their emotions, cooling them down when necessary and supporting at their lowest - they both are gradually coming to that co-leadership model, mutually growing personality-wise, and I really like how slowly and naturally it was being established throughout the seasons, - but for the sake of Cass' own mental well-being I wish it happened earlier. By the look of it this loss is going to hit hard. Hope I won't be disappointed.
This last point - losing the battle in being the leader who keeps everyine safe, like an Atlas holding the sky, - is my favourite developement of the whole season, I think, because I don't see it all that often, but it's INTERESTING. Come on! True, I don't consume THAT much media, but I'd say it's not too little either, and this kind of character developement is rare. Because it means you'd have to let your best piece break and then what? Leave them? Restore? Set them up to the darker path? Turn into a villain? So many possibilities! But it's a risk, because what if the audience won't like losing their favourite? At least that's how I see the reasoning.
I can only think of two other examples with very similar qualities, character traits and positions being led a similar path - it's Arcane's Vi and Shiro from Voltron the Legendary Defender. They are both charismatic, glue/link everyone together, have this easy air around them - it's impossible not to feel good in their presence, same with Cass. Vi can also be pretty rough or crude at times. All are fighters. At the same time all three share the same leadership anxiety. They have big things to accomplish, people depending on them, either by their own miscalculated decision or by lack of other options, and don't really know how to approach this. Shiro didn't ask for a bunch of kids to lead into a full-blown war, he has a PTSD and ends up bringing quite a number of serious problems. Vi flings herself into the conflict between two city parts because her sister is in the center of it, but she drags a lot of people into it and makes a ton of mistakes. And so does Cass - they lead the breachers but clearly underestimated the risks and their own mental stamina. All three aren't going to give up, even when they really want to. All are broken by their decisions in various ways. This all is so raw and alive. I wish more creative teams explored this way of character developement.
And I'm looking forward to learning where Cass is headed, of course - now with those new losses and newfound strengths. Just... as soon as I pump up the courage because as much as I love it, heavy emotional stuff is, well, heavy.
By the way, I love how the podcast is structured - there are hints in the begining that start to make sense later, both Cassius' lines (mysterious so far, it's only clear they have amnesia and are talking to someone or somethig powerful? or, rather, influential?) and the backwards order of the worlds in the book Silas translates. So I think I'll just relisten to both seasons before I begin S3.

The Video Gaming Major Arcana
The latest patron episode of Into The Aether/@intothecast asked the boys to decide a video game for every Major Arcana card. They ran out of time on it and only got 2/3s thru
my ass was like "Challenge Accepted"
0 - The Fool - Dragon Quest (The Fool is infinite potential and is at the start of a long journey. DQ as a series is a long-running, is a bedrock of the medium, and has done its own takes on everything from pokemon to minecraft, and it either did it first or did it better.)
1 - The Magician - Metroid and Zelda (The Magician is the first person the Fool meets and is a guide for the journey. The Magician is associated strongly with teaching and with tools. Metroid and Zelda both are foundational works and they revolve around gating player process through tools.)
2 - The High Priestess - FEZ (The High Priestess is another guide, but sits before the veil, keeping guard over arcane, hidden knowledge and deciding when to share the secrets of the universe. FEZ is one of the Big Games that hide under layers and layers of mystery.)
3 - The Empress - Stardew Valley (The Empress presides over growth and cultivation of her kingdom, sitting in a field with wheat in hand. SDV is chiefly about taking care of your own domain, the farm and the wider village.)
4 - The Emperor - Civilization (The Emperor is the firm hand of government and can be an important navigator in chaos but also is angered by lack of obedience and losing control. Civ is all about steering every aspect of a nation and protecting it viciously.)
5 - The Hierophant - Pokemon (The Hierophant is a cultural, societal leader that gains power from people who believe similarly but subsequently is very set in their ways. Pokemon is a huge phenomenon that unites people of all ages, but also struggles heavily with innovation and progress.)
6 - The Lovers - Journey (The Lovers aren't necessarily smoochy-smoochy, but represent a Decision, joining hands with another person and striding into the future together. It's Journey. If you know, you know.)
7 - The Chariot - Bethesda's Catalog (The Chariot is a tumultuous, potent card. They hold onto the reins of powerful beasts and drive forward, blazing a new path. But if they lose grip, everything goes to hell. Bethesda's works tend to have this incredible ambition to them, and when they hit, they HIT, but when they miss, it's dramatic.)
8 - Justice - Dark Souls (Justice is the system and its enforcement of its rules, whether they feel fair or arbitrary. I feel DS fits it well-- it relentlessly follows its own rules and is firm in them, which can either draw players in or seem cruel and unwelcoming.)
9 - The Hermit - Immortality (The Hermit is a wise person who gained specialized knowledge but through great personal sacrifice. They find it difficult to share their knowledge because they essentially traded that ability to communicate easily for the wisdom. Immortality has some deeply complicated concepts to communicate, but its methods and the basic mechanics it uses are to some people impossible to understand.)
10 - (Wheel of) Fortune - Spelunky (Fortune is the card of pure luck and the whims of fate and how you survive being caught in its spokes. Spelunky is a pure Rogue-like as opposed to a Rogue-lite and there is no knowing what the procgen will give you.)
11 - Strength - Undertale (Strength is specifically about emotional control and fortitude. It's not about slaying the lion, but holding it, keeping it from lashing out. Undertale is a game that asks the player to endure emotional struggles both against the mechanics and against their own inclinations.)
12 - The Hanged Man - Signalis (OH BOY ITS MY FAVE CARD. The thing about the Hanged Man is that it's a test, a gamble, a deal. The Hanged Man is not hung from the neck, this is not an execution, they are inverted. They choose to be inverted in the hopes of gaining some Insight into the universe, but in doing so risk madness or obsession or doom. Signalis is both a game about a protagonist going through this and also a game that will put the player through this if they aren't careful.)
13 - The Nameless Arcana - Braid (I'm not even personally a fan of Braid, but I believe it is one of the handful of Original Indie Games. The very existence and popularity of Braid and its contemporaries showed that games outside the big studios could hit big. Braid (or Cave Story for the PC crowd) altered the landscape.
14 - Temperance - Yakuza (Temperance is the melding of disparate elements that should not go together into something grand and new, and maintaining that balance. Yakuza manages to be genuine and profound not in spite of its strange mixture of tones and mechanics but because of them.)
15 - The Devil - Genshin Impact (I don't feel the need to elaborate on this one.)
16 - The Tower - Shenmue (The Tower is total upheaval and where it all comes crashing down, where ambition crumbles and brings an institution down with it. Shenmue is not solely to blame for the failure of the Dreamcast and Sega's exit from the console arena, but it contributed to it and is emblematic of that seachange.)
17 - The Star - Mass Effect (The Star is a beacon in the darkness, a distant light that indicates not so much a goal, but that the journey will continue. Mass Effect is a landmark title that maybe didn't execute on half the things it tried, strangled by its own scope, but it still showed what games could do, broadening the possibility space. It is hope for greater experiences and art.)
18 - The Moon - Metal Gear (The Moon illuminates the path through the darkness, but creates illusions in the reflections, demanding the querent move forward with care or they will go astray, go mad. Is Metal Gear really deep? Is it the closest triple-A games get to arthouse? Does it have meaning? Or is it a mess? Is it too Problematique to justify it's big ideas? Is it all just really, really stupid? Or is it genius?)
19 - The Sun - Tetris Effect (The Sun comes at the end of a long, arduous journey. It is the sigh of relief, the tears of release, the light to finally see how far you've come. Tetris Effect is the latest iteration of one of the oldest formulas ever, and it's brilliant and celebratory and invites everyone to take part in its joy.)
20 - Judgement - Pathologic (Judgement is all-seeing and all-knowing, the final tally and the reckoning. So is Pathologic. Few experiences demand so much from the player, and few games are so brutally honest in answering the player's decisions. In Pathologic, you will get what you deserve.)
21 - The World - The Outer Wilds (The beginning is the end is the beginning. Completion and totality and holistic understanding of Everything. It's gotta be Outer Wilds.)

Short/one shot of Jinx from Arcane "adopting" (read: kidnapping) a new "sister" to make everything better and replace liar-abandoner-Vi(can be after the final events of the last season 1 episode or before, up to you). Platonic, female (or Jinx just doesn't care, they're still her "sister" now), darling is an adult as according to the rules- 🧪
Sure! Writing some Delusional Jinx could be cool. I just hope I get her right as she is a very deep character. Takes place in no specific part of the series, could be during or after season 1.
Sisters
Yandere! Platonic! Jinx Short
Pairing: Platonic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Female Darling, Obsession, Kidnapping, Murder, Violence, Delusional behavior, Manipulation, Darling has a mentioned sibling, Stalking, Parasocial relationship mention, Forced companionship/family dynamic, Possible OOC Jinx at times.
Tumblr media
It just takes one spark.
It takes one little spark before a fire starts and grows out of control.
Jinx saw familiarity in you. By chance she saw you on one of her "outings". She witnessed your caring nature in action... a display of love towards someone you cared for.
You were someone completely random. Someone who happened to also have a sibling... a sight echoing the past she yearned to forget. Despite the pain watching you caused... she kept her gaze on you whenever she could.
You were never far from your sibling. It looked like you were similar ages. Jinx felt... envious of your care.
When she sees you, she thinks of Vi. The thought makes her grit her teeth. Yet at the same time... she feels you're different.
She sees you never abandon your sibling as she watches you. She admits she shouldn't be watching, there's nothing special here. But Jinx wishes so deeply to have a piece of that love.
Watching you becomes a past time. She feels happier when you are away from that sibling of yours. It gives her delusions time to fester.
When she watches you alone she imagines you as her sister. She fantasizes of the care you give and the love you show. All a feeling she lost long ago.
Jinx even gets braver and follows you home. When you reside in your home she watches from the windows. All the while she sees you as a new sister, one that can help her, one better than Vi.
When she sees your sibling greet and hug you rage brews in her. She feels her fingers cut into her palms as she watches you and them be happy. She wants that.
Jinx develops a parasocial relationship with you. She believes you're meant to be her sister. She thinks you'll love her like you do your sibling.
Meanwhile all you see is the shape of a young woman in the darkness. You just see glimpses out of the corner of your eye of blue hair late at night. Then by your window you swear you see intense purple eyes.
To you, Jinx is just something... someone you see out of the corner of your eye.
Up until she decides to let herself in and become part of your life.
---
Graffiti art lines the walls in blinding pinks and blues. It's the first thing that meets your eyes in the dimly lit room. Other than that, most of your body feels heavy.
As you regain consciousness you slowly learn more about your situation. Ropes tie you to a chair, restricting your movement. You try to cry out... only for a cloth gag to prevent any noise.
You try to figure out where you are but the location is too unfamiliar. Various things hang from the wall and inventions line a table. It looks like a hideout.
But for who?
"Good to see your awake! Waiting for you was getting boring." A chipper voice rings from the shadows. You feel your body go rigid when a silhouette comes into view. A young woman with long blue braids stares at you with purple eyes.
She gives you a smile before kneeling beside you. Something about her seems familiar but you can't quite tell. Something about those swirling purple eyes unnerves you when she looks at you.
Like they've haunted you for awhile now.
"I was hoping my new sister would be more excited, but I guess it's because we've never met!" The woman sighs, nearly leaning on you. She never takes her eyes off you. She just stares lovingly... like she's been waiting for this.
Sister...?
"Don't scream." Her words are a command as she moves the wet cloth away from your mouth. You cough a few times, your mouth feeling strange and dry. You then see the woman toss the cloth away haphazardly.
"Where am I!? Who are you...?" You find yourself asking in search of some sort of answer. The woman giggles to herself, laying her head in your lap.
"Well... you can call me Jinx. In terms of where you are... you're in your new home!" The woman, Jinx, explains as she makes herself comfortable halfway on your lap.
"Why'd you call me sister...?" You ask cautiously. Jinx's gaze darkens for a moment and she gets off you to pace about the room.
"Because that's what we are! Sisters... we're sisters, aren't we? Ones that never abandon each other... or call each other useless...."
Jinx's tone shifts, lost in thought before shaking herself out of it. You're still confused on what she means. You've never met her before.
"I've never met you... I'm only a sister to one person and that's-"
"Not anymore." Her words are brief and quick. Those same haunting purple eyes glare at you before softening. She then bursts into another fir of giggles. "No, no... they're gone! Just like Vi! It's just us, two sisters... happy with each other!"
You feel anxiety squeeze your gut at her words. Not anymore... she-?
"What did you do!?" You quickly ask, Jinx swapping back to her darker gaze.
"Replaced them I guess." Jinx hums as you choke back a sob. "You don't need them just like I don't need Vi. With you... things will be okay. You'll love me just like them... won't you?"
Jinx stalks closer, her words dangerous. Her gaze stares at you like an apex predator. You say nothing... and she wraps herself around you.
"I'd do anything to be your sister..." Jinx whispers, her grip tightening. "I'd kill for you... anything just to feel your warmth and earn your praise."
"You killed them...?" Your voice is barely a whisper and tears fall from your face. Jinx softly wipes them away before nuzzling her face into your shoulder.
"We were meant to be sisters." Jinx simply continues, not answering your question fully. "I just know you won't betray or abandon me. I won't let that happen."
Jinx giggles again, looking up at you. She strangely acts like a child towards you, smiling like a young kid. She acts like she hasn't killed someone close to you.
"Ever since I first saw you I knew you'd be perfect. I knew you'd be better than... her." Jinx hisses the last bit before sighing. "You'll love me... eventually."
She then jumps off you before swinging herself behind you. You feel her grip your chin before forcing you to look at her. A disturbing grin sears into your memory... accompanied by swirling purple eyes of adoration.
"We've got all the time we could ever need to get to know each other..." Jinx hums before kneeling beside the chair again.
"I just know you'll be different than that liar... won't you, sister?"

can i speak my truth ? can i keep it real ? there shouldve been more in-party conflict in blades 2. like obviously mc should’ve gotten to cuss mal out in particular when he was like You Dont Know What We’ve Been Thru as if getting kidnapped and forced into a magically induced coma and getting your blood stolen and having constant benadryl nightmares is a walk in the park lmfao, and also just gotten to talk more about what they went through and how it’s impacted them
but also there should’ve been way more beef between the other party members. like girl if i’m nia and i’m spiralling scorning sleep and food constantly hunting for a way to free MY GIRLFRIEND (!!) from the clutches of some goth elf cunt on top of making the fantasy catholic church christlike again and repressing my inner shadow demon and one of my friends is like “hesdeadjim.png give up also fuck you” and then fucked off to be an alcoholic pit fighter, i wouldve actually just thrown hands when we saw each other next. no magic no nothing just me and my nasty little fingers (covered in paper cuts from all the arcane shadow tomes ive been reading) coming straight for her eye sockets. staff of silverlake should’ve been nia’s weapon and she should’ve leapt into the pit in chapter 4 and clocked imtura in the skull with it.
like you bitches should be CRAZY!!!! you should all have DISORDERS!!!! you should be begging ravens perched on busts for RESPITE AND NEPENTHE from your memories of me !!!!!! the moon should never beam without bringing you dreams of ME and the stars never rise but you feel MY bright eyes. tyril should be half-mad with grief and stress he should be mumbling to himself and seeing mc’s silhouette in dark corners. nia should be clearly and obviously off her fucking rocker and constantly on the verge of self destructing and taking us all out with her. imtura should be constantly blind drunk so she doesn’t have to feel her grief or anything at all really. mal should have been in the wind the second it started looking like mc wasn’t coming back and nobody’s heard from him in months. kade should be in a bottomless pit of grief bc when he was stuck in the shadow realm we never gave up hope and we went to rescue him but now that the tables are turned he’s slowly losing hope and day by day and night by night we recede and he becomes more faithless. threep and loola should be inseparable sleeping in a pile together never beyond a wing-length from one another and keeping obsessive tabs on all the other party members no matter how far-flung across morella they are because they’ve already lost everyone and everything they knew to the shadow court once and they’ll be damned if they lose anything else. also kade and aerin should’ve built up a weird semihostile rapport bc once everything fell apart and everyone went their separate ways it was just the two of them in the whitetower palace and kade would go to his cell and sit out of arm’s reach to vent about his time in the shadow realm and his grief and hopes and fears. they both knew and loved mc, in their own ways, despite how aerin hurt them, and now they’ve both lost them, maybe for good. maybe one day aerin starts talking back
where is the SPICE where is the FLAVOUR? where’s the DRAMA where’s the OOMPH where’s the PANACHE? you cannot look at me and tell me these dysfunctional bitches wouldn’t fall back into their worst habits once the one person who held them all together up and vanished into the void. why am i not ending each chapter feeling like i’ve just gotten punched in the dick bc the love is so obviously still there and that’s why it hurts so bad. they should’ve put their whole budget and pussies into forcing the party to fit themselves back together even though they’ve all grown new sharp edges and keep cutting each other up. they should’ve gone full dark no stars about it. grief is an amputation but hope is incurable hemophilia you bleed and bleed and bleed, plants that are split down the middle dont heal they die, you are a language i am no longer fluent in but still remember how to read, what lived and died between us haunts me still, if someone asked me at the end i’d tell them “put me back in it”, i care what ghosts think of me, come back even as a shadow even as a dream, someone has to leave first this is a very old story there is no other ending to this story, etc, etc, you get it you understand. also the mc should’ve come back WRONG.
