i think arctic monkeys is a fairly rare example of a band that got big when they were young and have successfully matured their music along w their songwriter! alex turner has always had a way with words and an excellent voice, but it's really cool that even the way he sings has changed over the years

i saw in a recent interview that he's not sure that a younger version of him would like the music that he makes now, but he doesn't really mind. and this isnt to say that what you might describe as 'maturity' is something that needs to come with age or that it needs to correlate to music being softer and slower, i don't think that's true, it's just on the balance how things happened here. i bet you look good on the dancefloor and body paint do not sound like they're from the same band and i like that. big fan of how they have consistently put out good music.

all this is to say i’m enjoying the car, feels like a great album for this time of year especially
