I loved the discussion in the comments of my last post. Thank you for that. It was so real and honest, but more than that it was kind and compassionate. In this day and age where judgement flies so quickly and online attacks are so easily launched, it felt like something special to have what conversation without all that. I was feeling raw and vulnerable after practice today. Then I walked out to the beach and the wind blew every thought in my mind away. Don’t let the picture fool you, it’s a national holiday and the beach is packed. I just seem to always find a small piece of heaven that is speaks to me 😊 Reacting to the same thing with the same response over and over again is the very definition of being stuck. It takes so much strength to break the pattern and try a new response, especially to situations that being up intense emotions. But this why we practice yoga, to change, to evolve, to become more enlightened. It’s not easy. It’s not perfection. It’s practice. We are tested when we take the lessons learned on the mat into life off the mat. Sometimes we break the spell of suffering. Sometimes we don’t do as well. But all the while we learn, step by step, breath by breath.
