FORMLINE SCORPION 🦂🌃
This piece was done as a contest entry for a local contest that unfortunately did not win. Because of that, I feel comfortable sharing it here. This was a pretty experimental piece and I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out.
This piece in question was based off the Northern Scorpion (Paruroctonus boreus), which is the only species of scorpion that lives in Canada and also known to glow a bright blue under UV light. (pictured below)
I'm kinda sad I didn't win, but I'm still proud of how the piece turned out. (Also this piece got finished around the end of October last year, so it's been on the backburner in terms of posting for a while lmao)

@critterchitters-closedcaptions submitted: I'd like to share Lady Buttered Quiche
Her and her plant got Lifted because I had to move it but didn't see her on it until it was Already Picked Up oops
she was remarkably chill about it though so I snapped a quick pic before I popped her back home
also some other critters i saw on my way to the store
Please tell Lady Buttered Quiche she's beautiful and perfect. The other dudes are all great too but especially the cute lil wasp peekin out at us from amongst her flowers :)

I love you people who own "scary" or "creepy" pets or are enthusiastic about them
I love you people who own spiders, owners of snakes, owners of beetles, owners of roaches and scorpions. I love you breeders of moths and stick insects. I love you insect enthusiasts and amateurs educators. I love you lovers of wasps and hornets and ants.
I could never own your beloved pets because I could not care for them properly but your love for these creatures and your enthusiasm and education has taken creatures that made my skin crawl and fear to strike and taught me their value not only as part of our ecosystem but as something beautiful and worthy of love and admiration
Thank you

some creatures! drew them all as part of my last internship project at the nature center. they'll be used for identifying different animals that are found in the local pond :-)
